The pervasiveness of social media has made it easy to know what's going on as Kate films Celebrity Apprentice. Tomorrow afternoon Kate and the teams will be at Pie Face in NYC. The men will be at one location, the women the other. Both teams will apparently be selling pies for charity. A first look has already been posted, and suggests things are already pretty intense for the women's team as they bake pies, make phone calls, and prepare for the task tomorrow. Other information suggests call time today was 3 a.m.

I've used pearl-clutching before when I'm talking about someone being shocked about something that I don't consider shocking. I think when the phrase first started it usually was aimed at someone that was 'old-fashioned' and alarmed by something said or done by someone that was younger and no longer behaving the way previous generations (who would wear pearls) did.
Someone asked if TFW could commute back home to PA. Now what in the world kind of fun would it be to have to go back to the kids after basking in the glow of celebrity all day?
Remember when TFW came back from her free tummy tuck and said to her kids, I don't ever want to miss another week of your life again?

How odd. It looks like she has decided to smile differently. Usually we see all her bottom teeth when she smiles and flashes her veneers. Maybe all the horse teeth comments starting getting to her.
It is really quite unbelievable that she is getting yet another chance for redemption on TV and this is actually a pretty decent one. It has the ability to showcase another side of her - her organization skills, her ability to work on a team and of course, to show that she has been able to keep current with the Hollywood look. Let's face it, if she was ugly, she would not be on CA. I have always thought Kate looks quite good with all the professional hair and makeup.
I truly don't think it's about the money for Kate. It's her chance to prove to people that she has what it takes to play with the big stars now because all her minions have told her so. Don't forget her mantra: if you say I can't do it, guess what, now I'm going to do it just to spite you.
We (meaning all of the Kate detractors) all say how out of place she looked in that little instagram clip, carrying the bags. We say that because we all know that she does not belong there and has not earned the right to be there. She knows it and she knows we know it. She's the lonely onion in a field of lavender. If they film every day of the week, logistically, it wouldn't make sense. She'd be on the road six hours a day, getting home late, only to turn around and leave again at 2 a.m. if there is a 5:30 a.m. call. She couldn't take the train because last I checked, the earliest train from Philly to NY leaves at 5 a.m. and she wouldn't get there in time. If she commuted, she'd be home only to sleep.
What did Steve do at the pie store? Sit at a table all day, waiting for Kate to yell, "Haters, Steve. Over here NOW!" He has such a tough job. No wonder he sticks with her.
NJ, I would have handed that fur baby over to you three days ago if he wasn't so damn cute. He's a chewing, pooping monster who's had some tummy upset. Giving Pepto per the vet's instructions sure is fun. More went on the floor than in him. On top of it all, my 12 year old Boxer came down with an awful ear infection so I've had some growling, nipping, get- that- pup- away- from -me attitude. Thankfully it's all getting better now and Rude Boy begins his puppy manners class Thursday night. I bought a playard and Bulldozer toppled it within one day. I've got my work cut out for me with this one!
This is sorta OT, but still refers to pies. I just finished Saloma Furlong's second autobio Bonnet Strings and not only was the book fantastic but she included some unique Amish pie recipes. I'm an avid baker and have an impressive collection of Amish cookbooks but had never seen her crust recipe before. I can't wait to get to the grocery store & begin trying these recipes. That is when I can leave the house for more than an hour ;)

Alienation of affection is against the third party (who "stole" the other person's spouse) and is only allowed in a few (7) states these days. It's a tort (civil offense) rather than a crime. Alienation of affection does not require proof of extramarital sex.
Divorce is a different matter, and affects the couple only, not the third part. In Canada, adultery is grounds for divorce. It does require proof of extramarital sex.
In the US, divorce is governed by state law, so will vary from state to state. In Colorado and Washington for example, adultery is not ground for divorce and doesn't affect property division or alimony decisions. Every state allows no-fault divorce, where adultery is irrelevant. Some also allow "fault" divorce based on adultery. I couldn't find a list or count of how many states do - don't have time to google all 50.
Does someone with better resources than mine know how many states allow divorce based on adultery?

Since I've never seen the show, I have a question -- is it possible that TFMJG is staying at home and commuting to NYC daily for filming, or is it required of contestants that they stay there for the duration?
Kate commute from PA?! That would utterly defeat her purpose, which is certainly in large part being AWAY from her kids and staying in a nice hotel for as long as possible. (Although I don't doubt we'll "hear" that she's raced home one Sunday because she misses them SO much.) I'm sure there's some swag involved as well, you know she'd cross the country for a freebie.
I don't think she was able to cut some kind of special remuneration deal with Trump. I think she begged her ass off to get on this show, she has NO other prospects besides this lame TLC hour coming up. If he offered her $25,000 (or whatever the standard amount is), he wasted his money--he very likely could have had her for $2,500, just so she could be in a group called "celebrity." Whatever happens, she intends to dine out on this for the rest of her "celebrity career."
BTW, I don't believe this is anywhere near a 6-week commitment, I was always under the impression it was no more than 3-4. Also, it's being cut back to a one-hour show from two. If they're really filming 12-14 hours per day, 6 days a week, I think 6 weeks is way too long. Some of these people (not Kate, of course) really DO have other business commitments to get on with--like Donald and Ivanka, for example.

See I think similar to Remona, in that that's not pearl clutching.
It's not simply holding the morals and judgements themselves that make you a pearl clutcher. I would hope at this age we have all firmly established what our morals and values are including how we may feel about cheating. It's taking the next step and turning up your nose at people with different outlooks on how to live life and considering your life choices smugly superior that is pearl clutching. And I don't think it applies to every situation that you disagree with, I think it more tends to apply to "traditional" values like relationships, drinking, partying, etc. We're not talking about "pearl clutching" because someone is exploiting their kids, that's very different and goes far beyond a simple live and let live analysis.
I don't look "down' ON Kate and Steve's relationship, if there is one, nor do I much care. I don't think it's healthy for the kids, and that's certainly my opinion. I just don't think that's pearl clutching. I think that's one set of values vs. another and I certainly co-exist just fine with many people who hold different values on such matters. I could not, however, co-exist on a regular basis with a child exploiter, etc.

Telling someone to clutch their pearls can be about many things, not just morals and values. I think the last time I used the phrase was over all the hysteria about Jon peeing in someone's driveway. Or maybe it was all the upset over Jon's cursing? Or maybe it was about Jon being so outspoken about TCFW on CT? To ME, none of those things are immoral or anything to be concerned about, though all those things sure concerned many on this blog!
Maybe what it really boils down to is a kind of shorthand way to tell another person that you strongly disagree that whatever they are upset about is anything to be upset about?

I'm not sure about that, but I do know that in half of the states, adultery is still a criminal offense. There's an interesting thing about a divorce on grounds of adultery in PA. There doesn't need to be proof of sex having occurred. It's circumstantial -- nobody has to witness the actual sex act; however, BOTH disposition and opportunity must be proven. Holding hands is considered disposition, and if you are seen going into a motel room with another person, that is opportunity.
In addition, if a wife cheats on her husband, he can file for divorce on those grounds, but if they decide to get back together again (even if it's just for one day), have sex, and separate again, then the previous charge of adultery is null and void if she hasn't cheated the second time around.
I was watching the Real Housewives reunion and Brandi said that her ex Eddie won't let her film the kids because he doesn't want them on T.V. She says she doesn't want them to be the main focus she just wants them sort of around in the background so another side of her can be seen. Of course, even though you would assume Bravo would side with their cast member Brandi, instead they have honored Eddie's wishes not to include the kids.
Bravo has no problem not getting involved in a dispute like that and refusing to film children until it is resolved. It appears TLC is one of the few networks who doesn't care about a parent's concerns and does whatever they want. I just hope Brandi and TFW don't bond over their mean awful ex's who don't want their children exploited.

New Hampshire allows girls to marry at 13, and boys at age 14. The state requires the consent of parents and a judge. Florida allows boys and girls under the age to marry if there is a pregnancy, with no minimum age. As a matter of fact there is a bill being drafted because as recently as 2012, a 13 year old boy was married because he impregnated someone.

I think it's terrible the way Jon is disregarded in having a say over his childrens lives. I also think Kate is a monster and no one crosses her. What possibly could Jon have done that would allow TFW to keep his kids from seeing him? In my world, this is NEVER allowed. It has NOTHING to do with paying or not paying child support. Having Steve along is cheating, I agree. You're not supposed to have any support system or an outside person to talk to, get advice from. It's supposed to be you and your team and that's it. Unbelievable. So is his family okay with him being gone for four straight weeks to be her security blanket? I don't think she's allowed to go home when she's fired, I think they sequester them.

New Hampshire allows girls to marry at 13, and boys at age 14. The state requires the consent of parents and a judge. Florida allows boys and girls under the age to marry if there is a pregnancy, with no minimum age. As a matter of fact there is a bill being drafted because as recently as 2012, a 13 year old boy was married because he impregnated someone.

First of all, he's a host. But it shouldn't matter.
Second of all, this is insulting. He works at two higher end restaurants where you can make a good living. Sure, it is harder to make a good living at a burger joint, but that's not what these places are. They are more on the fine dining side, and if you look at the menus dinner for two is going to run you at minimum 60-70 bucks a pop if you're ordering alcohol. That's a fine tip. The hospitality industry is a fine and respectable career that many upstanding people enter every single day because it is a fine and respectable career.
I can't stand when people look down on someone's job based on a stereotype. He may very well make more in four nights work than he would in six work days doing IT. It may make great sense. The point being, at least one parent is willing to accept that reality T.V. is not a career and at least one parent is showing these children that a mediocre job is something you have to do to support your family, there is no shame in it, and you should show up to work every day with your head held high because there is honor in supporting your family with your own hard work and sweat. Jon is their only hope of developing a work ethic, period.

I always thought that these reality tv contestants were sequestered with their cohorts. Not a living situation that I would want! But, I thought they bunked, ate and generally lived with one another- and no media.
No tv, no cell phones etc.
I've watched a couple competition shows (Top Chef) where the contestants are all but cut off from the world.
It is totally cheating to have Steve attached to Kate's hip.
I'm betting that Kate will be called out on it, because no way everyone has their assistant tagging along.
The thing is- Steve has ALWAYS been there. He's just gotten very good at hiding.
Remember the RV pizzagate scene? Steve (and the crew) was shuffling around trying to duck out of camera range. He looked panicked when the cameras turned around to catch the whole scene.
I mean, he WAS the crux of the melt down. It WAS Steve's pizza and God forbid one of Kate's kids ate it!

This really pisses me off about Steve. First, there is absolutely no doubt she is getting help from him. None. She must have insisted that Steve be included in her stay for CA. Second, either she and Steve have cooked up this dating thing for the publicity (she really looked pleased that the pap showed up) which is disgusting for his family and shows he has little regard for his sons (I don't respect Gina at all). Or third, they are indeed a couple and have been for years. You see, most people would say, wouldn't the wife know? Not necessarily. Many women totally trust their husbands and want to believe their assurances that it's strictly business. So Gina is: trusting of Steve, believes him; going along with the publicity for the $$$; or has an open marriage. That's all it can be. Meanwhile their sons have to deal with the rumors. Sucks to be them.

I agree with what someone else said that likely this is just the kitchen door or back door to the hotel. How very Princess Diana of her. NYC has all kind of doors that look like that, but they often lead to very nice buildings.
I'm pretty sure I knew that on Celebrity Apprentice they stay in a hotel not living together. On the real Apprentice they were basically bunking up together. At least on recent seasons they never show their living quarters. I just remember in the past someone making reference to running back to their hotel to get something, or something along those lines. Whatever it was I remember at the time being a little taken aback that they're sort of able to have a nice hotel to stay in. I think it makes the experience easier, and is less fun than making them all bunk up.
We're really going to have this whole season spoiled by social media, which disappoints me.
I don't tweet, but I wonder when people see that Kate is not participating in CA alone, if there will be public backlash to The Donald's attention.

My question is- wouldn't you think that with all of these "celeb" contestants doing very public challenges, that the show would provide security?
I mean, at what point does Steve let Kate do something alone? When does he stop? When Kate goes into her hotel room? When she goes into the bathroom?
What exactly does Kate do alone, all by herself?
She can't get from point A to point B without Steve.
