I've also been wondering, if Kate really is trying to improve her public image, why doesn't she tell Milo to stop commenting on every little thing put out there.
It makes Kate look weak and desperate that her fans are defending her, and in the process blaming Jon, against non-stories and rumours in the tabloids.

It makes me wonder how these people are in real life. If a "friend" is the type to call them when they are in a bind but never pick up the phone when YOU are a bind, do they keep that friend?

I wasn't terribly impressed with the movie. It was fine acting and all but I was frustrated with them. The whole time I was thinking, Barb, it's time to your estrange your family. No, it's gotten to that point. Time to cut them off. It's okay, you certainly gave it the ole college try. Why put up with such emotional abuse?
When you're spending the whole movie wondering why on earth a nice gal like Barb is even AT her mother's house, that's not good.

Oh this is rich - yes, read here much.? Like anyone believes you finally got a second to pause. Even your tweeties who cannot buy a trash can on their own will believe you are so so busy. You simply don't care. And having a blast are you? So glad you continue to make those memories for yourself, bet the kids are reassured to know mommy is out having a blast. 38 going on 15 is a good descriptor.

If you're not sick! I have been on many boats, and taken several cruises in very rough seas, all without getting the heaves. However, I was so sick on that NY boat that it was anything but fun and educational. I'd love to try it again, though, without a plastic bag!

Yes, someone tweeted they saw the kids w/Kate at a restaurant a few weekends ago plus Kate was spotted at DSW shoe store near home last weekend. No kids were reported w/her and no idea how long she spent with them when she was in town for the day.

Sorry, but this whole CA thing, with those 'tasks', just seems silly to me.
I really don't believe Kate is having a blast. This might be reality tv and all, but those CA boardroom segments are brutal. I can only hope that she's getting taken to task this time around. She's been able to fly under the radar so many times on other shows like CWS and all those talk show interviews (except Today YES!!).
Celebrity Apprentice is a whole nuther story and when they start telling each other how they really feel, it gets pretty ugly. She hasn't looked very happy on the pics I've seen of her so far. I read Melissa Gilbert's blog today because she had moved to Michigan, not far from me, and I wanted her take on growing up in LA and being on the Hollywood merry-go-round and then moving to a small town here in Michigan. She has some very interesting things to say about plastic surgery and how it's so refreshing to be around people who look "normal" in comparison to people in LA. She is in love with my state and I love reading her blog, although, she's not up to date and she apologizes for it. She also shows before pictures of when she was using Botox and fillers and after pictures, now, since she hasn't done it in a long time. I thought of Kate and how she just "doesn't get it".

This is totally off topic, but everyone here is so knowledgeable about so many things!
I was thinking about Kate and her table manners, or rather lack of them. I was watching Chopped and was horrified at the way the judges sit at the table, with their full bodies (almost) on the table, propping themselves up on their elbows, arms on the table, while they taste the food.
In this neck of the woods, when we were learning proper use of utensils, we learned to hold the fork upside down in our left hand when cutting food, putting the knife in our right hand, then cutting. When finished cutting one or two pieces, we place the knife across the top of the plate, then transfer the fork to our right hand, turn it rightside up and eat the food.
These judges cut the food with their left hand, upside down, and then shovel the food into their mouths, left hand, with the fork still upside down like a shovel. Is this the new way of doing things? I remember seeing that done sometimes in European countries, but as far as I know, these judges are American and weren't raised in Europe.
Am I just out of the loop and behind the times?

Have you tried the Apprentice UK? It's sooooo much better. It's GOOD! I'm well into season 2 and I'm excited there are several more seasons after that.
I think with the (original) Apprentice they participants took it more seriously because they were all vying for a job with Trump. With CA some (like TFW) are just vying for attention while others are passionate about the charity they represent and are in it to win it.

The dh and I went to see Monuments Men at the $2 theater tonight. (the Byrd Theater shows movies just before they come out on video, cheap date night!) Recommended, really like the movie. Anyway, the actors all look their age, and its just fine. George Clooney, bill Murray, John Goodman. All look their age and look... REAL!
Also the great thing about Celebrity Apprentice is when they piss Sir Allen off, he calls it a "bloody mess" and the poor saps who lost "cheeky bastards."

Just to set the record straight about Mr Steve Neild… he is a cheating toad. He used to chat and cam with me on yahoo and flew from Korea to see (insert have sex) me in Canberra Australia on the way home to Auckland New Zealand. I was single and he told me he was separated from his wife (BIG LIE). I wouldn’t trust him as far as I could throw him. He and Kate are as bad as each other and deserve each other. I feel very sorry for his wife and 2 sons!

The folks at the Survivor Sucks forum are keeping tabs on the latest developments. Though specifics have yet to be revealed, it is suspected via social media posts that Keshia Knight Pulliam, snowboarder Jamie Anderson and comedian Gilbert Gottfried are likely the first three to be fired this season.
It has also been revealed that the teams are split by gender initially, as is typically the case with the show. However, it doesn't stay that way for long. Singing icon Olivia Newton-John actually broke a big “The Celebrity Apprentice” spoiler when she tweeted a photo revealing a new team for a challenge taped on April 5.
This challenge is something related to selling wedding dresses, and the flyer Olivia shared detailed that Johnny Damon, Terrell Owens, Ian Ziering, Leeza Gibbons, Kenya Moore and Brandi Glanville were all on the same team. There have been numerous photos of Kate Gosselin in a wedding dress from the challenge as well, so she is still in the mix but on the other team.
Mixing the teams like this typically happens a bit further down the road. It will be interesting to see it all play out to find out why Donald Trump mixed things up earlier than usual. Kevin Jonas did not seem to be at the wedding dress challenge, but he was tweeting about it and seems to be linked to Kenya Moore's team. Is he still in the mix of competitors? That much isn't known at this point.
It seems that the other team for the wedding dress challenge included Kate Gosselin, Vivica A. Fox, Shawn Johnson, Geraldo Rivera, and Sig Hansen, possibly with Lorenzo Lamas there too. However, Lamas does seem to be unconfirmed about still being in the mix at this point.
Another challenge was taped on April 8 and this one involved promotion for Ivanka Trump's shoe line. There are photos out showing Brandi Glanville's team and interestingly, Terrell Owens is not in the photos. Was he the last one fired? It seems likely. It also seems that the team with Glanville, Ziering, Moore, Gibbons and Damon may have won this shoe challenge.
Kate didn't just say she wanted a big cop she specifically said a silver-haired one. I think it was on a talk show once.
Now that would be karma if it turns out Steve is a serial cheater!

Melissa had a lot of plastic surgery as well as using Botox. I'm glad if she now feels comfortable in her own skin. At the time the surgeries were important to her and career as she wrote about in her autobiography. She seemed to have a great need to fit in and be glamorous. What makes having dinner together "look" like a couple? How can you tell? Do you hold hands? Lovingly eat off each other's plate? Snuggle under the table? Follow each other into the bathroom?
If one wants to look at a man and a woman having dinner in a restaurant, it's all in how one perceives "a couple." A brother and a sister could be eating dinner; he orders for her; he holds the door for her; helps her with her coat; and if one didn't know that they were siblings, some would say that they definitely are a couple.

The dh and I went to see Monuments Men at the $2 theater tonight. (the Byrd Theater shows movies just before they come out on video, cheap date night!) Recommended, really like the movie. I just started season 2 of the UK version & I already miss Saira. I'm sure I'll warm up to this new group at some point, but not so far.

I saw "August Osage County" at the movies & it depressed the hell out of me. Meryl's acting almost made up for it - almost.
Some quotes from what TFW has said she wants in a new man. Notice the contradictions...she wants a wealthy man, she doesn't care if he's new wealthy. First one is probably true; she wants a wealthy man so she doesn't have to worry about money (think she's interested in The Donald?)
The bottom quote is the one I remembered. She wants a man, like a cop, to keep her kids in line.

August Osage County won the 2008 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. I saw it on Broadway and also saw the movie. I enjoyed the acting in both. The story was OK, but some family dynamics are like that. In comedies the family dynamics are often played like that also but because it's a comedy we're allowed to laugh about it especially if it makes us feel uncomfortable. I think the main reason I brought it up was because the women in it look real and haven't botoxed or plastic surgeried (is that even a word?) themselves to death.

Susie, you are correct that the comments about Kate and Steve have been less than detailed. But, everyone can interpret body language as to whether there is chemistry. For instance when they are dining, do they lean their heads towards each other, do they smile at each other often, laugh, does one touch the other, do they sit in quiet, dark corners, when they enter or leave does he touch the small of her back, do they sit close together. My point is that there have been quite a few people who have gotten the impression they behave like a couple. It doesn't have to be overt and it doesn't necessarily mean it's sexual, but it must appear intimate to casual observers.
Does anyone know who is actually paying Steve N's salary? I remember a few years ago seeing articles and pics of Steve and his entire family at Kate and the kids' mini-mansion. That article described the Neilds and Gosselins being close friends. That was years ago, right after or during the divorce. It is all very questionable. I would not want to be married to a man who did what Steve does. Too close for comfort from my view.

He's not a bodyguard, and I think that after the show ended, Kate came out and said that he's her road manager. I don't think his role is to protect her, but rather to lead her through airports, make travel arrangements, to get her out of jams if either an obsessive fan or hater shows up. She wouldn't know what to do in a stressful situation, or if something happened that would require calm, logical thinking. She'd go off on someone and get herself in a heap of trouble. I think that's one of his roles...to keep her on the straight and narrow.

I think we forget she's not that famous, she's not married, and most people don't give a crap. IF there is an affair, it may very well have been "outed" but just not to the tabloids. Gina and other friends and family may very well know. On the contrary I think I'd find it rather easy to hide an affair from the tabloids. What is harder is hiding it from your wife who actually sees your credit card bills and cell phone records, may call at odd times, may be unpacking your bag, etc.

Good point. I don't think she's even on the radar of most tabloids. Radar, People, InTouch occasionally have something to say about her but that's about it. I don't even count the online rag mag blogs like Hollybaby or whatever that are just someone like me penning stories for money from ads. They talk about many nothing or almost nothing "stories" that mainstream tabloids yawn at or aren't comfortable with the verification. They will publish things like Kate ate a pretzel at the mall today, stories that no one else cares about.
Still others might not touch it because maybe it's not even really a story. We have to remember it's not KATE who is having an affair, it would be Steve doing it. Gina is the aggrieved party. For a good "affair" story I'd look for who is the injured party. Is it someone we can really get behind and pull for like Denise Richards, Jennifer Anniston or for those of us who followed classic Hollywood, the lovely Patricia Neal may she RIP, and her ex Roald Dahl who married her costume designer and good friend within a year of splitting from Patricia? See, they are looking for a good story and that good story needs a clear victim and clear villain. That's a story. I don't think most tabloids see Kate and Steve as a "story." The story was Jon's women when he and Kate were splitting. Or if Kate had been caught with other men during that time, Kate's. If you notice, the Steve thing was more of a story back then for exactly that reason, is my belief. The story is not, Gina Neild's husband cheats on her. Who's Gina Neild? People don't want a heroine in Gina Neild. They don't even know who she is. People don't want a villain in Steve, he's not at that level. That's just my take on what I think is going on here.

That's true, but Kate has billed herself as the Christian mother of eight children, and I would think that if she were having an affair with a married man who happens to be her bodyguard, it would be a juicy story...tabloid fodder that would expose her for being a home wrecker. She's not exactly a beloved celebrity. She's disliked and loathed by so many people. What better way than to show that she's a hypocrite of the worst kind -- that good, moral, upstanding woman who made the church circuit preaching about God's goodness and blessings and her decision not to abort babies, only to have her exposed as a Hester Prynne?

As you said Tucker, the time to not tweet is when you are with your children. She has eight children who need her and love her. She has eight children who are in school all day and many with their father every other weekend and one night a week. When you take away all the time for homework, activities, friends, chores, etc., that leaves maybe a minute or two tops, PER CHILD each day to really catch up. This is when she should make a rule for herself to put the phone away after a certain time (say once they sit down to dinner) and not take it out again until every last of those eight children is in bed and off to dreamland. Many other moms have done it and swear by it.
I have to believe some of these fans have children, or at least love children and know deep down in their hearts that if there is a time for Kate not to tweet it's when she is with her children. They know it. I don't expect them to say "I was wrong about her" but I do have hope they know it and will quietly abandon their pursuit of this waste of space.

Kate and Jon did promote themselves as deeply religious and active church goers during the first season or two of the show, but then I think the emphasis on that aspect was somewhat reduced, with the focus turning more to the dynamic between them (henpecked husband, demanding critical wife), and the children as they became toddlers. Of course, the usual arc of a reality tv show involving a "struggling family," then moved into ever more lavish trips to various places, rather than the every day life.
Kate hasn't really specifically marketed herself as a deeply religious person for quite awhile; and her behavior certainly doesn't fit the mold either.
I think the tabloids wouldn't mind printing a juicy story about her cavorting with a married man, but the main thing they want are stories that sell. I think the media was interested in that story for completely different reasons than they might be interested in an affair story. Plus I doubt they saw any reason for that story to be off limits like you might want to be more careful with an affair story, because of libel, etc.
That was a story because a famous mother was putting her kids out there to try to say things were a certain way. The kids rebelled and choked, for whatever reason, making said mother look like a fool. That's really just such a completely different thing than yet another boring story about yet another affair. That was a simple "fall flat on your face" story, and the media loves those. I don't think you can say because they were interested in that story, they should be interested in an affair with Steve too. I don't agree.
As long as his wife, kids and others in his life that matter know the truth, why should he care about his "reputation?"

Well, for starters because it's not just about whether his family knows the truth. It's about his wife and children who have to live life every day knowing that everything thinks this is a joke. A teenage boy or barely young man is not going to care that it's not the truth, they are just going to want these stories to stop popping up when you google their name. One of the tabloids swiped Gina's picture of the KIDS and posted it online over this! Can you imagine the embarrassment a young man would feel about it? And you're just supposed to say honey it's not the truth what are you upset about? That's is hopelessly insensitive.
Would you honestly, being truly honest, want almost every tabloid between 2008 and now speculating at some point about you having an inappropriate relationship with a client? Would you as a son or daughter want to see that about your father day after day? Would you want them stealing FB photos of you to make a story?
Again, this is over Kate Gosselin. She's not Michelle Obama. Is this really worth it to him?
It's really not just about what is true or not. Many, many, many celebrities have shut down relationships and associations because it was causing problems for them in the tabloids. Well that's the thing they don't have proof. No one is in the hotel room watching them have sex and likely never will be. They will never have proof unless the two of them admit to it. They can only share the anecdotes that people see (holding hands, Kate picking up the phone in his room, etc) and let folks draw their own conclusions. Did I know my boss's husband was having affairs because I saw the sexual intercourse? Of course not. However, I did know every time my boss went out of town hubby used that time not to play let's have time with just dad until mama gets back, but rather to go book hotel rooms in Los Angeles and dump the kids on the nanny. It was understood this is just what he did and no one said anything or even so much as acted like it was weird, for the kids' sake. I mean obviously we all knew what that was about and told her so, and sure enough we were right.
And I still fully believe you can hide proof from the tabloids. It's called locking your door and drawing the shades. They can't prove anything nor could I "prove" anything with a simple hotel room reservation with a beautiful woman, but come on. It's a look like a duck situation. Maybe once in a blue moon it's a pigeon not a duck, but not usually.
I'm not "projecting" anything, anonymous. My parents have been happily married for 35 years and never rocked our world with an affair or even an appearance of an affair. My dad does not romp around with other unmarried woman, my mom does not romp around with other unmarried men. Neither of them romp around with others of the opposite sex period. Their friends are mutual and when they see friends of the opposite sex they see them TOGETHER. This is a very common self imposed rule that many Christian and other marriages employ from day one and it's worked for them.
It is well established that children are incredibly damaged by things like affairs and other dysfunctional relationships. Couple that in with the mountains of evidence Paul Petersen will point you to that explains exactly why it is harmful to put a child in the public eye, and I stand by my opinion that Steve needs to think of his kids when he prances around with Kate.
I repeat, the Neild children's photo was published in a tabloid story about an affair. If that is not a wake up call to any good father and MAN that this has gone far beyond just affecting HIM, then you are not a good father and man. Period.

Unfortunately, because these children were put on national tv, have been on national magazine covers, and have appeared on widely viewed interview shows (The Today Show, to name just one), they are recognizable to many strangers and viewed as d-list celebrities themselves.
It's not the same as a family or group of kids who are truly private unknown citizens being photographed and flashed online for all to see. (Although this happens all the time too - someone sees a person they find interesting for some reason, takes their picture and shares it on FB.)

Good points. I am sure that once a celeb has selected the charity they will play for, no change would be allowed unless suddenly the charity were exposed as a fraud. But more importantly, while this family's loss is tragic, they are not a registered charity. There is plenty to fault TFW for, but not this. Also - do we have any idea what charity she is playing for?

I don't have a Twitter account, so I only know about what goes on between the fans and non-fans there by reading comments here. This woman in the park should not be subjected to verbal harassment, but in this particular case, I think she showed extremely poor judgment in posting a photo of children who are not her own. I would never, NEVER, take a photograph of another person's child, famous or otherwise, and feel it is my right to post that photo to any social media site. That is a complete violation of privacy and just plain wrong.
I hope those kids are not in NYC because they're being filmed for CA.

CA has never filmed anyone elses family for the show so I doubt that TFW's kids are being filmed for it. Sunday is a day off so someone brought them in to visit. How would it look if everyone else was visiting with their kids/family but TFW couldn't spare the time? She wants people to know that she's spending time with them even though she's oh so busy but she still doesn't have time to tweet "so excited to see my kids today".

I'm sure she gave (the nanny) whoever it was permission to post that photo. Shes too obvious.....Theres NO WAY she would let anyone post a picture of her kids. This is completely orchestrated by that child exploiter..

That phrasing is so over-the-top and the #GoodMom is a dead giveaway. Even if the kids were "delightful" and "vivacious", how does that automatically translate into "GoodMom"? Weird.
It could be an orchestrated tweet, but looking at the tweeter's timeline, it seems like she's a NYer out in the park on a gorgeous spring day after a dreadful winter and saw the kids.

Yep, sounds just like TFW. Probably a promotion for the upcoming "update' show - aka- the tups turn ten. Lots of smiles. She always has to promote herself when mentioning the kids, as if they are nothing without her. But it truly is the other way around.
Would love to know, IF there is one nanny there with 8 kids, why can't Kate ever manage them alone? And if Steve is not there with the kids in NY (to protect THEM instead of Kate), why not?
NJ, Teresa used her kids as part of a presentation for a challenge about cars I think, so they were filmed, though it was very brief. I wouldn't put it past Kate to use the kids in a similar fashion if she can.
