It seems we weren't the only ones horrified by Kate's treatment of Mady in the promo clip from TLC (warning, the video prominently features the children), which showed a two minute segment from the update special that will air at the end of June. The glee across her face when she described buying iPhones for the children for the purpose of taking them away was disturbing. The disrespectful manner in which Kate handled a relatively small disruption from the 13-year-old resonated negatively with bloggers around the web, and here are some of their thoughts:

Jon and Kate filed for divorce in Montgomery County where divorce records are automatically sealed BY LAW. That's probably why they did that.
There are eight celebrity children involved here. Their case is closed per the law of that county, period, and I wouldn't dream of trying to peek at a closed case's documents, it's unethical. Never have and never will. So we can stop going around about it, there is no looking at the documents, period.

They have reported numerous bogus stories based on their "good" sources and that includes silly stories about Kate. It's Radar. I've come to accept that's just what they do, play sloppy with their sources. They don't seem to have the foggiest appreciation for the fact that they just accused both Kate and Jon of ILLEGAL activity. That's f-ing SERIOUS. Do they get that? Nope. They're fools who never made it to the staff of a "real" publication.
One that always comes to mind is their oh so reliable source telling them that the girls were going to be on Dance Moms.
I didn't believe that for a second. It just made no sense for a variety of reasons. And sure enough even Kate practically snorted her chocolate milk. She was like uhhh, NO!
I think their source is Deanna and I think she both feeds them Kate's spin on things that Kate exaggerates or flat out makes up, and I think Deanna adds a flourish of her own. Remember when Deanna was playing Kate's defender on twitter? The things she said are SO similar to this "source" of radar's. I just wish Deanna would wake up and stop being Kate's minion. She deserves better than that. Kate lies to our faces about all kinds of things, I don't see why she wouldn't lie to Deanna's face too.

It's nothing in a legal battle in a high profile divorce. Would barely scratch the surface. Celebrity divorce attorneys ask for a 20-30,000 retainer upfront before they even start. That's just to cover themselves because they know they're going to burn at least that. What happens is when you run out of money you can't fight anymore. Whoever runs out first is the one who gets screwed.
Millicent I encourage you to watch Divorce Corp. and form your own opinion. It's not how you're making it out to be. It sounds like your divorce was not complicated, and you were lucky in that respect. I'm sure some people are able to have uncomplicated divorces, but that's not normally what I hear. When you really start having a bunch of financial issues or custody disputes, it can't be solved simply under our current system. It just can't. The Betty Broderick case is a good example of how a divorce goes when there are a lot of moving financial parts. It takes forever and costs so much. We have entire law school classes on how messy it gets, it's called Community Property law and it's its own subject on the bar. It was on my bar. I would give some messy examples that would blow your mind from just regular folks, but it's confidential. Something has got to be done, it should not be this financially draining or difficult.

PatK, I would rather not say what county I live in, but all you have to do is go to the county website, choose Clerk of Courts, Dockets online. You have to check a box agreeing to the terms of use, and you're in. You don't need to register. Then you just type in the person's name, and if they've ever been to court for anything, it's all documented for anyone to see.
I know a couple who are going through some tough custody issues. They have been divorced a couple of years, and he was recently awarded full custody of the kids. She trashes him up and down every chance she gets, dragging him to court all the time. She is in a relationship with a, shall I say, "unsavory" person and chooses him over her children. You know how they say there are three sides to every story - yours, mine, and the truth? I have heard both of their sides and found out the truth by looking it up on the court dockets.
Luckily, I had a pretty civilized divorce, so there are no juicy stories out there for anyone to access. And even though I did willingly log on and look up their case, I still feel way too much information is available. I didn't realize just how much I would find out, which was way more than anyone not directly involved has any reason to know.
Things like when and where the kids go to counseling and which one of them is having problems in school.
It did come in handy a couple years ago when I met a guy who seemed a little sketchy. Smooth talker, good looking, very charming.
But there was just something about him I didn't trust. So I looked him up on the court dockets and found out he owed a lot of taxes and had been sued for sexual harassment. So in that case, I was grateful to find that out before I got too involved.
Okay, I'm done rambling!
Also, I didn't think about the fact that Jon and Kate's case is closed. Otherwise, I'm sure Radar Online or some other tabloid would've gotten a hold of documents a long time ago.

Danielle, I don't need to know which county you're in. My point was that in MY county, you can see only the docket for domestic relations cases, not actual pdfs of each pleading therein. And actually, in my county, you do not have to agree to anything beforehand. Just go to the court website, type in a party's name and go.

ROL isn't that smart. They've spilled about a "secret deal" which shows they are oblivious to any kind of libel suit that may be forthcoming. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if they consider Milo a good source. Heaven knows she's probably contacted them enough times letting them know that she and Kate are best friends. My mother is NPD, and until I knew better and worked on it, I somewhat echoed her behaviour, felt bad after, but it was better than the voice of doom if I didn't.
Perhaps Khatie Irene Kreider was Jon's first encounter with an NPD, who chose him the minute she saw him. Poor teenager at that time didn't stand a chance. Add 8 kids and cameras to the mix, and voila... Perfect TLC exploitation all wrapped up in a bow.

My redemption was that my mother did allow use sporadic contact with her family..her mistake I guess.
Eventually one of my uncles came in the house when I was 15 and she was chasing me around with a knife. He finally got foster care to accept me. Best year of my life, first glimpse of a real family I ever had, we were always so isolated.
I raise my dd on what I learned about family that year, shipped off to college the next one.
As a result, I searched for answers all kinds of way, made a whole lotta mistakes, but got lucky, someone had saved me, so I knew I was at least worth something.
I eventually went East for 10 years and found myself, then came back. My mother is still in my life, in a limited way, and over the past 25 years she has calmed down, although, she still questions me why I do not do things her way, she has accepted I never will.
Only took me 25 years...hope the G8 take less for peace.

Sorry Admin. I respectfully disagree. Jon took ten years of "thinking before he speaks" only to be called horrible, despicable names that berated him worse than Kate ever did, IMO. I RARELY EVER read ANYTHING that mentions him in a good light. Excluding this blog. Even when it is just giving mention that he is the ex husband of Kate they use "that douche bag ex of Kate".
It is sad and demoralizing to him as a human being. In the show I saw him as one who dearly loved his kids, his wife and wanted his marriage to work so his kids could have a two parent family. He was just beaten down by an evil wife with selfish immoral goals and controlled by the media who SET HIM UP and TORE HIM DOWN.
I have shared here before that I am a recovering addict who has been through a hard life but not half of what he has gone through. He has become worn torn and rough around the edges yet he still plugs along doing his best under the circumstances to show his love to his kids. He has more character and strength than most I know. The big difference is his was put out for all to see. Yes he is responsible for his own actions but let it be the third side to the story, which one has mentioned on this thread already, THE TRUTH after hearing from both sides . That doesn't mean his side said and edited by the media either. Which really, unless anyone spoke to him personally, that's how everyone has received any information about them. Where lays the truth?
People can have their opinions but to speak them as fact, to me, can be reckless, harmful and dangerous. I would never forgive myself if I found out that someone was harmed, harmed themselves or changed negatively because of something I stated as fact. I'm not perfect but I try hard not to intentionally destroy anyone. After all, IT WILL COME BACK ON ME. That's for sure and I definitely don't need more crap.

It shows the fear and stress those kids have to deal with. Look at what Mady's little protest got her? Just like the prison guards you see in movies, she torments, ridicules and gaslights. And that was with a camera filming her, imagine what she does when they're alone?

Does anyone local here know for a fact that Jon is no longer employed at that restaurant? If he was indeed fired, could it have been because of his appearance on CA? That was not publicity I would want for my business establishment. And that magazine article was not flattering either. I get the feeling it is true he is no longer employed there but not for the reasons the "source" gave ROL.

I didn't hear her say anything about being in a movie in this clip but in the past TFW has said that she wants to be in movies, she wants to do voice-overs and/or be a voice on a cartoon and who could forget her grabbing the mic from someone and telling them "someday I'll own this mic". I wonder how all of that is working out for her. She was given more chances than she deserved and nothing came from any of them. She expected (still expects) everything to be handed to her. Had she been serious about any of that she would have taken some lessons to lose that PA accent, to lose the ummms and to appear more natural on camera.

She had on that thick sweatsuit hoodie outfit and that jacket really showed how little she was in it. I couldn't believe she had Zorro on her shoulder cooking breakfast. What a horrible choice. Those things are tough. I have acrylics and believe me, I do my share of cleaning, cooking, scrubbing bathrooms, vacuuming, dusting, taking care of animals, litter boxes, and you do get used to it. I have no 'domestic' help. Very seldom do I break a nail doing routine housework. My last painful break (down below the nail line) happened in the car (don't ask!).
If it were to ever come out that Deanna was a ROL source, her makeup career would be toast. What celeb would ever trust her? If she is indeed the source, she's a complete idiot. Kate is a user. Kate is probably the first celeb to ever befriend Deanna and welcome her into her home and on vacation. It makes complete sense to me Kate is using Deanna just like she used Beth Carson to write that book. Kate embraces no one unless it is for ulterior motives.

Recently have spent time with children I am actually related to. Children you know say cute things and do cute things and are fascinating to watch and play with. Children I am not related to, not so interesting unless they are neighbors grandchildren. Children on TV who are school ah, not interesting at all. Kendra and her mom have been butting heads for years. It must be slow news day at ROL. The estrangement has been addressed even before Kendra was married and had little Hank. Her brother also joined in to put his 2 cents in siding mostly with the mom. Both of them were on Kendra's first "reality" show. The mom got p*ssed because Kendra announced her pregnancy at her bridal shower and a lot of other things that have gone on between them. I do not think Kendra is like Kate or ever will be. She just wants her mom to say she is proud of her and her mom wants Kendra to tell her things first, like pregnancies, etc. It happens.

Yes. I used to have acrylic nails years ago. But when I decided to stop, I let the nails grow out a bit and then carefully removed the remaining acrylic portion. My nails underneath were pretty thin and looked a little shredded. However, once those nails had grown out completely, my nails were back to normal.

Excellent remark, and I agree with you. Jon has been more than most of us can even imagine. Most of us originally tuned into the show thinking "awww, those little kids are so cute!" and probably thinking that Jon and Kate were pretty normal parents dealing with 8 little kids. Only after some time passed did we begin to see the red flags, the bad behavior on TFW's part, and then some truly awful behavior emerge. Even so, except for those here who have a parent or former spouse who has NPD, we can't really understand how truly difficult it would be to live with that person for ten long years, be beaten down verbally and sometimes physically until we knuckled under to their incessant demands, to begin to believe that we really are clueless, aimless, and helpless without their constant direction, to know what Jon went through. Not only that, the media ran with the approved story line given to them by TLC: Jon is a cheating spouse (not true); Jon is a party boy hanging with 20-year olds (not really true); Jon goes through women like water (we know he actually prefers to be in a monogamous relationship); Jon doesn't care about the kids (we know that's not true); Jon is a slacker (well maybe somewhat true, but he does keep trying); Jon did nothing to help around the house (completely false!), etc.
I cannot imagine having such falsehoods told repeatedly by me, in the media.
Now I have to leave for lunch early to pick up my child, so the rest of my thoughts will have to wait :)

From things said in Robert's book, I'd say you're both correct! Robert said that JON was the ''neat freak'' who was constantly vacuuming, picking up things, organizing closets and so on.
I believe that TCFW used her so-called OCD as a cunning way to avoid doing other things. Remember her spending hours cleaning the fridge left in the new house? Oh, one more thing. I was watching TLC last night, and not one mention of K8. They mentioned the Cake boss on june 24th, and other shows, but so far no K8. I think TLC is down playing K8 special. I think it was an orange bikini, and it wasn't at her house. It was on vacation somewhere, and there was a photo right next to it of Bigfoot and it looked exactly like Kate.

Why does TFW equate school with purgatory? It can't be good to pass that negative energy to her children. They're there almost 10 months a year - isn't there something good about it? Learning new things, getting to know classmates and teachers, finding out your academic strengths, seeing the world differently as you find out more about it? Sure, every kid digs summer vacation, but why make
school some symbol of drudgery and punishment - just because she
hates schlepping to the bus stop (if she every really does) and helping
them with their homework (okay, now I'm messing with you)?
She should be tweeting up a storm regularly if she's saddled with them
24/7. If she's lucky, they've learned to "disperse," as she giddily
described when talking about the benefits of having a larger house.

Honestly I respect Sandi more than any of those fans put together and I believe Sandi cares about Kate more than any of those fans put together. She has taken it upon herself to be the voice of reason against big opposition.
If you REALLY care about someone you will be honest with them, you will not be afraid to tell them the truth. Good job Sandi.

With fans this age I don't think it would be unusual at all to wake up one day and completely lost interest in your celeb. That's just normal. They're not going to bother to give any kind of kind goodbye to everyone because that's how little they don't care anymore. Nor are they obligated to say goodbye.

If the boys are excluded from this super-fun "Full House" screening,

After all that I'd be REALLY disappointed if this doesn't air.
Wouldn't be the first time Kate ended up on the cutting room floor.
I wonder if Full House feels a bit dated to kids their age. And their 13 year olds are starting to outgrow it. It's really more of a family show and not exactly "cool."
It's a wonderful show for what it was but there's a lot of other things out there to watch. Plus she's mentioned they've watched it many times before, surely they've seen them all by now.
