Ugh. While I respect free speech rights I've never been one to contact Kate's employer. However I do understand when people do that because usually when she's working she's exploiting the kids directly. But this is just really obnoxious. Can't people just be happy he's doing something without exploiting the kids? Geez. If Kate actually got her hands dirty at a real mediocre non-entertainment job I'd be happy about it and I would hope that no one would contact her employer. Anyone who truly cares about the kids would support job that do not exploit them in any way, shape or form and that provide for them without USING them.

You can be bet real $$ that if TFW made a reservation, and took any number of her kids to a restaurant not spelled Chipotle, someone else was definitely paying the bill. I think it's very unfair. Once you sign up for a reality show you have to be harassed forever? I have said many times, if Kate would like to bow out of the celebrity lifestyle please say the word and she should be left alone.
He should be able to work in peace if that work is private. The right to privacy should not be lost forever because you made one mistake signing a contract with TLC eight years ago.

The restaurant reservation thing...IF she (and someone else) took all the kids, sometimes restaurants like to know if there is going to be a large group coming. Ten or more people would be considered a "group;" That way, the restaurant can make sure there are enough tables available, prepare by putting them together, place settings, etc. Just a guess.
The hail -- yes, it was nasty, with Wyomissing and Shillington getting the brunt of it. My car was dented, but nothing that can't be fixed. Others got ,much worse. In that split second, I knew I couldn't seek shelter in the mall because it was being evacuated. I didn't know if the entire roof was going to collapse, or what was happening. When you're in your car, watching windshields shatter, you do what you have to do. In my case, I climbed on the floor of the back seat of the SUV and covered myself with some boxes that I had in the back. Protection from breaking glass was my first thought. It's something I don't want to ever go through again. Thank goodness I was the only one in the car and no kids were with me.
KIAT made a good point about Al Walentis possibly being ROL's source. He's shown himself to have a bad case of sour grapes.
Really though, it's past time to leave Jon alone.

If I remember correctly, Jon was given an IT job with the state, after the tups were born. Kate asked Jon to resign from his job so he could "HELP" her with the kids (since they were filming for TLC) and had an income.
He never should have resigned that job or should have built upon it, in my opinion. He should have also considered further schooling to build his resume, but never did, as I have a feeling TFW put her foot down, and wanted help with the kids. Now that she was on TV, she no longer wanted help from volunteers who could report her behavior to press, etc.. TLC was her passport to the "good life." but she could simply not handle it alone, without Jon there to "watch the kids" while she traveled for her book tours.
Jon should never have agreed to this, IMO, as it set her up to travel non-stop, TFW spent little time with the kids so the money could keep coming in, while she was alleging "doing all the work." Book tours, etc...Desired 1 week at home, 1 week traveling in her own words
There is nothing wrong with waitering/bus boy, but if he has talent/interest in a secure job, other than CT, he should have/be pursing it, as he is almost 40 years old. Likewise with TFW, although all she wants is a camera in her face, even if it includes kids now 10 and 13. Not much has changed. No alternate plans for a job or career, which you would normally need to support 8 kids
I do believe Jon consented to filming kids, and in exchange was relieved of child support. He may not like the kids being filmed, but if he agreed to this, we all know Kate was very happy with this, as she STILL needs the 8 to stay relevant 10 years later.

Exactly. I have long thought that she has exaggerated and dragged out into public her "feud" with Jon because she's not stupid and knows the conflict gets her attention. I never thought this more when she was supposed to go on TV and promote something, I think it was her cookbook, and made the entire conversation about JON. It was a very enlightening moment. Wtf, what was he even doing then? Nothing in public at least.

When Jon was doing interviews (for gossip-type TV and rags) before Couples Therapy both he and the restaurants seemed happy enough for the publicity they got from Jon's interviews and even participated by allowing themselves to be interviewed and photographed. Can't put Pandora back in the box.

I do agree that TFW will use the kids as much as possible, and her desperation was clear when she appeared with the twins on national tv trying to get them to talk about Jon. Who does that?
I also believe Jon does not deserve her constant attacks (lawsuits, articles, etc..) but am hopeful both of them can create a life without embarrassing their kids with unneeded antics. I do believe they both need to always consider their "filming choices" and behavior based on how it will affect their children. They both chose this lifestyle, but clearly TFW uses her kids regularly to promote her kids- cookbook, twins on tv twice, twitter, new update show, and many magazines. She is a narcissist, but I wish Jon would keep the kids' private lives out of the media. He has had a lot to say about his kids and TFW in the media, some not necessary in my mind, as it paints an ugly picture for the kids who have to go to school every day.
On the other hand, I don't ever expect TFW to stop selling/reporting on her kids, as they are the only thing she has as a claim to fame. Looking forward to CA, as I think she traveled out of her "wonderful Kate realm, where no network was "protecting her image." Should be interesting how poorly she acts, much like her final Kate Plus 8 episodes from Palin episode on, especially the RV trip. The truth finally came out. She can't get along with anyone, even paid staff.

Sorry Admin but Jon's interviews did him no justice in my opinion. He was all over the place, ranting and raving, and then appeared on CT.
I do believe that Jon loves his kids, but some of HIS choices have been bad. The lawsuit, and appearances on TV with the twins was brutal. I do think he should have/needs to request a meeting with a Family Court mediator, so all of the issues can be discussed.
I don't disagree with any of that JMO. But we need to be consistent here. If we're going to ask that Kate take a mediocre job and get out of the spotlight that needs to be respected if she ever does so. Same goes for Jon. He has not said a peep since Couples Therapy. When either one of them are actively bowing out of putting themselves out there the public should respect that. Regardless of the past. I no sooner believe Jon's past public behavior makes everything subsequent fair game as I do Kate's.
Jon didn't give "one or two interviews." He was "headline" news with the gossip rags, etc. for several weeks before CA began filming. It was for publicity. Both restaurants were mentioned more than once. I don't really see the relevancy of which restaurant was mentioned either anyway.
There's some justification in speculating that if another opportunity arose where he was going to appear on another reality-type show, (and what an extremely tasteless show, IMO), he'd again come out and do what was necessary to garner publicity for that appearance. Yes, Kate is way more of a publicity whore than Jon, but for anyone to get upset over his "privacy" being invaded at this point is something I don't understand.
I don't see how he can have it both ways-privacy when nothing is happening for him TV-wise, then acceptance when he goes through all whoring publicity-making machinations necessary garner the viewers.
At least we're not seeing an open letter posted anywhere on the internet by his employer as to why he was fired. I think his former wife has been canned more times from her 'jobs' than Jon has.

She hasn't updated her website since February and has been fairly quiet on twitter as well, so maybe Jon did go to family court and get some type of order? On the other hand, maybe kate is just being kate - meaning too lazy to update or post? Who knows? Maybe a bit of both, but she is easily distracted and her CA appearance and TLC update special may be fueling her attention needs instead.
It also wouldn't surprise me if Kate didn't fight very hard on the changes in child support order. I'm sure her attorney's advised her of the mathematical formula that would inevitably lead to a decrease in Jon's amount. It was more advantageous to her to her personal reputation to accept the decrease, so that she can then claim "poor single working mom doing it all on her own" & "Jon the deadbeat dad" and skew the truth to improve her image. She knows that Jon has neither the media savvy, nor the means to hire professional PR and advisors like she has. Win win for Kate as usual.
OT: Walmart sues widow of photographer for pictures. Walmart filed a lawsuit against the widow of the photographer who took many, many pictures of the Sam Walton family from 1950 to the 1990's. The suit is about work for hire vs. independent contractors.
Walmart offered her 2 thousand dollars for everything. She said no. Then they filed the lawsuit. I hope she wins a huge multi-million dollar judgement and then has a book written with all the pictures. Walmart is nothing but a big rich bully.

Admin, I agree with you on child support. If Kate wants more money, she should go to court and file for an increase. That's what everyone else does. I have no idea how the legal and physical custody was decided. That's complicated. The money is easier. PA has a standard calculation for child support based on income and a few other things. After the automatic result, then the judge can adjust things for other reasons. I don't know what Jon would actually owe but I'm sure it would not pay for school or anything like that. The judge should have a real picture of income and assets and know what to do. I'm not bothered by the amount Jon does or doesn't pay.

Someone tweeted that TFW and film crew were blocking the aisles at Michaels this past week. It was during a school day and there was no mention of the kids being with her.

I don't have Twitter, so I don't understand this (and I haven't had a drink tonight...not yet!). Why would Twitter tell a Tweeter to follow Kate?

Tweet - I've been wondering the same thing about twitter especially since Milo hasn't been on since the 16th. Maybe the inner circle all have super secret new twitter names and they meet TFW at a super secret site to discuss all things Kate. Wait, THW would never do that because then she wouldn't be verified and have that all important (to her) check mark next to her name.

My DIL was diagnosed with preeclampsia with her last pregnancy. She began to get some worrysome symptoms and was taken to the hospital. They did an emergency C-section (the baby was a month early) and everything turned out fine...DIL recovered quickly and baby granddaughter (weighing 5 lbs at birth) is now beginning to walk and talk. She had no complications other than her weight which she gained steadily. She was teeny weeny when born, but is right as rain now at 16 months. :) Prayers go out for your friend's daughter.

They just have a "Who to Follow" sidebar based on your tweets and who your other twitter friends are following. Facebook does the same thing calling it "you may know" based on mutual friends

Michael's didn't shut down the store for filming? Oh, my. How the mighty have fallen! I can't imagine being in there with a list of items I needed and was in a hurry and a couple of my items were on the same aisle as she was "shopping".
Because I am a single mom and I don't have time to be stopped by a queen (in her mind) who has plenty of help at home. Can't believe those kids are wasting their Memorial Day weekend filming. Can you see the list of perks she got out of this?
Food, pool service, free babysitters, crew daddies, swimsuits for her and the kids, cakes, party with all the trimmings. Plus, the paycheck! When was the last time she took all the kids to a restaurant to eat on her dime? All I remember was the Mother's Day restaurant and that was on TLC. If I was the Chipolte manager that gave her the first gift card and then all of a sudden the backlash happened, she would have not gotten anymore gift cards.

Yep, this is a first. Really weird. I'm thinking The Walking Dead. Has anyone gone outside lately to see if the streets are deserted?
Update: Contractions are looking really good. She is on Magnesium to help prevent seizures and it is making her really tired. She is actually getting a little sleep right now. (epidural) Thank you all for prayers. Keep them coming. So far, everything is good. From my friend.

I just came in from watching the night sky for the Camelopardalis Meteor shower. My neck hurts and so far I haven't seen a darn thing except three UFOs and one stray cat... sigh.

It really is pretty embarrassing how much the locals can't stand her. You would think a supposedly nice family with eight kids that the locals reactions should be "aww." Not "uggh". Says a lot.
Yikes I just realized she had to get up pretty early today to be at that cafe so early. Those early call times suck. She should still be sleeping now if she were following her usually scheduled programing. I shake my head to see them doing things that are not normal for them. She doesn't go to Michaels to get craft supplies for them. They don't go out to cafes for breakfast at 845 in the morning on a weekend. They sleep in until ungodly late hours and if any of the kids wake before Kate they are left to their own to make breakfast, per Kate's own admission.
