And yet, they are "surviving ". Talk about first world problems!

I seriously don't think she has any clue how she sounds right now. I'll give her a hint. Pathological. Delusional. Psychotic.

Berks Neighbor said... 2

The video with TFW on eonline - is it just me but does her face look like melting silly putty? It's all saggy and misshapen. there's brown patches around her mouth, etc. And...I hate to say this, but she looks a bit like a tranny as well.

NJGal51 said... 3

I'm currently watchIng Honey Boo Boo (dear Lord help me) so that I can change the channel when TFW comes on. I'll be watching Hell's Kitchen. OK, channel changed. I'll look forward to recaps.

@Kateplusmy8: The kids are laughing at themselves being cute! #HowCuteIsThat?

Sounds kind of douchey to me.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 5

Kate the first thing you need to understand is 10-year-olds with smart lips on them are not cute.

Tweet-le De Tweet-le DUMB said... 6

All I see are teeny boppers on Kate's Twitter T/L right now. OMG!!!!!!!

Tucker's Mom said... 7

I think it's telling that for the most part, Kate's interviews for this special have been on the defensive.
She knows it sounds ridiculous, that the kids want to film and she NEEDS to film to survive.
After all these years, kate knows it's worn very thin.

PA Dutch Mom said... 8

One of my Amish neighbors has nine children. I think that she's pregnant again (hard to tell under her apron). She is a SAHM. She sells produce at the end of their lane. He farms. I've never seen her tote those kids out on television, though. They all appear to be happy and thriving. Why is that?

It's mind-boggling that nobody, on all of Kate's media adventures, has ever asked her why she doesn't downsize and live within her means. She'd deflect, of course, but still it would be interesting to hear what she would come up with. Lose the 6,000 square foot house with the POOL, sell two of the cars, send the kids to public school, and get a real job.

No, I'm not watching the special. I've had enough of her in real life.

localyocul said... 9

Someone here mentioned that a lot of the people excited about this show are 20-ish girls who watched them when they were the tups' age. This does seem to be true. I still think it's weird though. My daughter is 17 and she has 4 girl cousins from 18-23 and none of them are Kate fans. One of them had a friend who stayed at OBX the year TFW and Jon went there and the friend came back and reported what a bitch TFW was.

Twitidiot Kate said... 10

Retweeted by Kate: @c_rayyrayy: "I got my kids cellphones and iPads so I can take them away." 😂 I love @Kateplusmy8 my inspiration for parenting!

If Kate is her inspiration for parenting I'm glad she's not my mom!

Terri said... 11

What I find so infuriating about this woman is that she agreed to the child support arrangement but then she wants to complain about how she is the sole supporter of the children. She can't have it both ways, agree to something and then complain constantly about her decision. She also makes it sound like the children going to visit their father is some sort of punishment. Sometimes I wish I could reach through the television screen and bitch slap her.

Anonymous said... 12

It was good to see the children call her out on that "broken foot".

The dh and I are enjoying watching The Chinese Boxer on El Rey network! The evil Japaneses karate guys have come to Chinese town to wreck the local martial arts school. There is lots of political history between China and Japan.
Earlier this week we watched Legend of the Drunken Master with Jackie Chan. He played a real historical figure who helped keep Chinese antiquities from being smuggled out of the country to Europe in the 1800s and helped preserve Chinese culture. Very political, and interesting to see the viewpoint of history from Chinese filmmakers. The dh and I are learning a lot about political history of China.
Thanks again to those watching and posting. You can each have your very own cupcake in your choice of frosting from my cake walk stand!

I just went and looked at the cake picture on People and there is no way the cake she was icing is the one in the picture! The tube of icing is making too thin a line for the red stripes on top. I think it is fondant.

Kate No Baked a Fake Cake! Calling it!

Also, why was she complaining about baking a cake? I thought her cooking skills were so best selling cook book worthy!

I'm sorry, if I am just nuts here, but this is just unbelievable how this is rollercoaster ride is getting out of control and how angry it makes me watch her lie, deceive, treat the kids.

Did you see her blow off Mady's hurt ankle? She wasn't faking. Then she on purposely hit that ball and it hit her ankle again, she almost fell down. She told one tup that YOUR OUT, BAM!

Wish when she hit Emeril, he would of turned around and said, I'M OUT, BAAAAAAAMMMMMM!

Good on Mady!! One way to survive a narcissist is to rage against the beast. Of course it may result in physical abuse but the other way you can see is Collin, who will never be able to speak his mind without waiting for the verbal or physical abuse that is sure to follow.
What a horses ass she is, and what a waste of time. If I wanted to deal with horse shit I could have gone to the barn and shoveled and had a positive outcome, not just a bad feeling that those kids are screwed for life.

I was watching The Sixties on CNN and flipped over to TLC during commercials. One part I did see was where they were talking about going to someplace where they could go ice skating, play dodgeball and other games.

Kate immediately says no skating for me, and repeats her mantra that she can't afford to get hurt because she has all those kids. Then she mentions her broken "foot", and all the kids called her out on it saying "it was your toe, your toe, not your foot".

She tried to convince them that it was part of the foot, so yes, she did break her foot.

I have to admit that made me laugh out loud. Busted!!!

I just checked Kate's twitter, and believe it or not she's still insisting it was her foot and again tweeted a picture of her X-ray.

It was so much worse than I expected Auntie Ann. Even knowing everything that I do, I was still stunned at the dysfunction and unhappiness. I could tell you about how the kids are still hitting and pushing each other (both verbally and physically), but instead I will tell you something positive: the boys were lovely to each other when describing each other for the individual segments. The girls weren't unkind to each other in their segments, they just spoke about each other's likes and dislikes, whereas the the boys spoke about each other's positive personalities traits.

If you give me a few weeks, maybe I will think of some other positive things......

I didn't see the show, but this is what really has me upset. If Zorro crashed the cake, imagine what happens if he crashes into a hot pan on the stove. It only takes one second and that's the end of the bird. She cooks with him sitting on her shoulder. He has no business being in free flight in the kitchen.

Uh Kate? That would be TEARING YOUR KIDS DOWN. Not building them up, like you say you do.

Thanks T. I I feel so bad for those boys. I guess they have to band together for support if they're up against six females in that house. I'm sure they have to do that in secret so the furor doesn't put them in solitaire. She is not only a bad mother, she's a dangerous one

I was undecided about watching but I'm glad I didn't now. Feeding the narcissist makes me feel dirty and I've already showered once today.

I understand that a parent may not want to let the child win every time in order to teach them how to lose graciously. But if you never let the child win, how do they learn to win graciously? Unfortunately it appears that Kate is not teaching either lesson because she plays like a bully. Against her own children.

You know the children's pent-up frustration just proves the point we been saying all along. And that is that you will not necessarily make their lives better by showering them with a "better" lifestyle financially. They are full of anger and frustration. What good is the money now? What good is wanting them to have "everything" if they're this unsettled?

Somebody here said that they think the Jonas Brothers may appear at the party. I think this may be true since she did CA with one of them. We shall see.

AnnieD said... 99

So in the E! interview, Kate says:
"It's our same crew and we're a unit and a family...you could never just send me a random crew..." We're to believe that?
And after all these years she's still saying about filming..." I look at it as work and the kids are with me and they run in and out of the frame and we go cool places sometimes." She is stuck in a time warp still trying to justify the exploitation of her children. Those kids have no chance of developing normally under her delusional guidance. She's already losing control of them, even the "littles".

Sorry, Admin. I deleted my comment with the tweet about Mady. It just made me so angry to see that, and apparently Kate has no concern what people say or think about her children, yet she claims feels the need to "protect" them by not letting them to go online, use google or other social media so they won't see the stories about them or their family.

So, Kate, was it worth the few thousand dollars you got in exchange for selling your young daughter Mady's reputation to the world?

Only devils sell their children. Everyone involved in this show, from PAs to producers is guilty of robbing a young girl of her innocence.

What mother throws their child to the wolves? And then cashes the cheque and giggles about it?

Sleepless - I know nothing about birds and was wondering why it's bad to have the bird on your back. Thanks.

------------

The bird can lose its footing and slide down your back and get caught in the fabric of your clothing, resulting in a broken wing, or even suffocating. It only takes a moment. If the bird gets spooked by something, it will take a chunk out of your back. Kids especially wouldn't know what to do in that situation and their first instinct would be to swat at the bird and knock it off their back. The bird could be seriously injured.

I had a rescue bird who lost a leg when he was perching on a shoulder. The dog barked and spooked it, he bit the owner in the neck. Without thinking, she struck out at the bird to remove him from her shoulder. The bird bounced off a window and broke his leg. It had to be amputated Their little legs are like toothpicks...very fragile.

None of this was ever for the kids. It was always for Kate and only Kate. The golden platter line was just a front story for the greedy pig. If she really cared she wouldn't be doing this to them. She sure isn't doing it FOR them.

AnnieD said... 108

The boys were absolutely charming when they were talking about each other.
On the other hand, Kate had no business playing that dodgeball game with the kids. She really was acting like an immature bully to Mady. When Mady angrily shoved Kate after, that was very telling. It was not a gentle shove. Who does that to their mother? Not normal.

Shoka was seen for all of 60 seconds. There are notes and chore lists everywhere in that house and TLC made sure the cameras lingered on them, even running the camera down one endlessly long list.

Kate appears physically ill. Pale, sweaty, nothing but bones and a very defeated, 'poor me' affect. Except for the very beginning of the show, when she was MANICALLY describing to the six how she took care of them when they were little. Uh huh. I'm sure they were enthralled, Kate.

I see a Dr Phil episode in the near future. *gag*

Does anyone know what was said at the end, after K said "I'm sorry" and M said "I don't accept your apology". I played it several times but couldn't catch it.

Also, in what sense is K sorry. She just told us in an interview that she considers it her duty to go all out to win when she plays against her kids! To build character (theirs, not hers, of course).

I just watched the repeat that was on at 12am. I think it's funny that they blurred out Steve's face when they showed a few clips that he was in. Jon and Aunt Jodi were both shown in old clips. At least, their faces weren't blurred.

And there was Kate with the gender stereotyping again, referring to taking care of the chickens as a "man's job". The boys were shown trudging out to the barn in the snow in order to care for the chickens.

I wonder if Kendra watched the show and saw that Kate apparently didn't think that her idea of switching up the chores was a good one.

Kate is like the wicked stepmother in a fairy tale, but she has 8 Cinderellas instead of just one.

I see Shoka made a very very brief appearance. Sorry, Shoka, Zorro is now the love of Kate's life.

I had to chime in about Mady. I think too it's awful to put her out there and up for criticism, especially right now at such a tough age. Even though Mady was always the outspoken I have also always noticed such a tender protective side of her when it came to the sextuplets. In so many episodes you can find Mady right next to any child in trouble with Kate. She's quietly comforting them by rubbing their backs or leading them away from their mother. She didn't dare interfere with her mother's scolding but she was quietly standing next to them, comforting them. In my opinion Mady has always been her siblings biggest protector.

I read this blog at the Washington Post this morning and thought it was good enough to share. I didn't watch the show but found this quote very telling.

In the episode Thursday, the twins submit to some sullen and occasionally giggly on-camera interviews. “You kind of, like, intruded on my whole life plan when I was 3 1/2,” Mady complains at one point.

However, her children should not be subjugated to such horrendous opinions for the masses to dissect and evaluate.
Something has to be done. I don't think TLC pick and chose these scenes...I truly believe this is the way they live and TFW is in complete denial about their behavior. The fact that #Kateplus8 was trending on twitter and NOT in a good way is not surprising. It all throws back to the girls on the Today Show. TFW is a failure as a parent, those kids need someone to come in and just LOVE them and encourage them instead of bark orders and USE them for living the high life.
I'm beyond pissed.
And to be honest I was surprised that my posting of a tweet about "M" actually posted to the board for a while (thanks for deleting it). I didn't think it would make it past the censors *wink*, but I wanted Admin aware of the vileness of the comments being made about this young girl that was not on TFWs regular twitter line.

They’re too young to understand the repercussions of photos and words and who they’re talking to.”

Yes, they got to travel the world, and yes, they got these fabulous things, and yes, they have trust funds, and they’re taken care of educationally. Great,” he said of his twin daughters Cara and Mady, 13, and the sextuplets Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Alexis, Joel and Leah, 9.

“But developmentally, they have problems with their peers, and they have problems with talking to other people, and they have problems with wants and needs and manners and morals and what’s right and what’s wrong. I think more so than someone who grows up off TV.”

Kate lectured Collin and said "we don't tear down, we build up". Obviously, that "we" only applies to the children. There were many times that she "tore down" those children, especially Mady. She kept on harping over and over about Mady's "attitude" so she could say "woe is me, see what I have to put up with?" Then at the end she and Mady ganged up on Cara teasing her for being so quiet. How is that "building up".

I really wish she would quit the "I am now dealing with teenagers" crap. That's her way of blaming everything on the twins, not herself.
She even said that the success of the party depended on what attitude the twins would have that day.

And how is calling your children "rabid beasts" building them up?

Suzy said... 161

I think M has some anger toward the younger children because she may be tired of mothering them all the time. Maybe she doesn’t want to mother them any longer and wants Kate to take over…

So true. People are being charged and jailed for cyber bullying/bullying. Kids are committing suicide because of cyber bullying/bullying. Those kids (Mady) have no recourse or laws on their side because they were forcefully made into public figures. She can say it as many times as she wants, that they "agreed", but they don't have the maturity or mental capacity to see what can (and is) resulting. The age of consent is between 16-18, right?
Just as an example, I know I have a different perspective NOW than what I did at that age on these matters. Even if they are in complete "agreeance" today, does not mean they will look back on those "choices" (pfft-they are being coerced) and think that was sooo wrong. There will be blame, and a lot of it, in the coming years.

In one of her interviews yesterday she was running on about how incredibly hard it is to have to omnipresent with never a second to rest because of the responsibility of raising 8 children all by her little lonesome self. I've got a hint for her - CO-PARENTING.

The kids don't have a chance. I don't think any amount of therapy could ever change anything about the way she parents them. The child I worry most about is C*. His face w/o expression, the lifeless look in his eyes - he's had to check out emotionally to protect himself. Whatever Robert saw or heard with C* must have been heartbreaking. I so hope he addresses and explains the incident in the book.

Hot to cold, nice to vicious in a heartbeat. Those drastic mood swings are NOT normal teen hormones. We have seen that with Mady since the cameras have been around. We also see that with Kate. I truly think Mady has serious chemical issues as well as just being a self indulged teen. Kate expects, demands nice words from Collin but not Mady. I think she is scared shit less of her.

For all the screaming and hitting that Kate does, wouldn't you think she would demand respect from her sullen, cynical, bratty teens?

Also interesting to me, in the van going to the party store, the twins were wanting their friends to come over for the party. Leah stated why is it that M/C always get to have friends over when it's a party for the the tups, but not the other way around?

Kate said, it's all about negotiations with M/C. Um no, Kate. News flash. You are the parent. Raising kids isn't about negotiating. It is about setting the rules and enforcing them for all the kids. The talk you gave to Collin applies to Mady's horrible comments about her brothers and sisters.

Mady is a loose cannon, and maybe even a bi polar teen. I think Kate is scared of what she may say at any moment. While her dynamic with all of the kids was better than I expected, what she has with Mady and Cara is about keeping them somewhat appeased.

Luke, the bird did not take out the whole side of the cake. He landed on the side and was shooed away. Maybe 2 inches of frosting was a little scratched.

She stated that the cake she bought would be a back up for the nice bday cake. Her plan was to make one from the beginning. I don't think she was trying to pull off the homemade one as the one pictured, but I guess we will see that next week.

I was glad to hear a great improvement in Joel's speech.

Overall, I was mostly pleasantly surprised at her behavior on this first part and absolutely over the top shocked and concerned by Mady.

Oh, one more thing, Mady stating that they all have to go together to each other's appointments makes me wonder if she ever leaves the twins alone? She is scared about them googling!

Re: TFW saying the kids aren't allowed to Google.

If that is indeed the case then she knows how the family is being portrayed is not normal or healthy. She knows that reading all the bad stuff about their mother and themselves would be emotionally damaging, especially because the kids are smart enough to see that a lot of what is said is true. TFW is cultivating a brand of being hated in an effort to stay in the public eye without caring what that does to her kids. Too bad she can't control what their friends read and likely tease them about later in school.

If she doesn't want her kids to read about how their mother is a fame whore, spends all their money on trips and restaurants, stays holed up with her married boobyguard, etc., then she should stop acting like that and start being a normal, mediocre mother who takes her kids to regular activities, works a normal job, and tries to be a contributing member of their local community.

I didn't watch the special, but it is obvious from the comments that the children are not emotionally developed like they should be. All TFW's isolation and pitting the kids against each other has made them either overly aggressive or beaten down. Very sad to see.

I didn't watch, but the clips seen and the comments here are enough to continue to make me sad and angry. If this is what they show on a 'special' what is life really like? The way Kate insinuates herself into every aspect of her growing children's lives from phone control, to dodge ball, to going to the movies along with their friends to meal control, this is sick. Very. The effects can be seen in the kids, especially angry Mady, but also cringing Cara, squabbling little girls, and moody zombie boys.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 173

Cara is Red. Resigned to her fate. Plods along and doesn't cause a lot of trouble. Maddie is Andy. Superior intelligence, a streak of defiance, and never accept this is Where she will always be. Two very different people but Red and Andy were very close just like the twins.

She's so flip when comparing the "kids" deciding to be filmed and deciding on what movie to go see (like they ever go to the movies)

They can't speak out turn, they can't eat their lunch in whatever order they want, they have to do their chores the minute they walk in the door, they can't set foot in the kitchen before a certain time, they have to clean their plates in order to get their dessert....on and on...
Whatever she says, the truth is the COMPLETE opposite. When she says "what am I going to do? force them? I can't force them"...KNOW THAT SHE IS FORCING THEM

kate gosselin has gone too far...the Hoffman book needs to come out, people need to read it and see what's happening to those kids and just end this insanity...actually the insanity for a lot of children who are being used by their parents as income on television..

Awake this morning and reading and I am just thinking about all the pain, hurt, frustration that was in those kids eyes, body language and I am just in tears. I agree Berks Neighbor wholeheartedly that all this evidence needs to go to the court. I think about Jon. You know it had to sucker punch him in the gut to hear Colin say, No wonder dad left.

I missed that when it was on and saw it posted here. What can you say. The words he said were heartbreaking. I believe he misses his dad but feels obligated to her, wants to please her. Feed the narcissist beast she is. Sickening when she said, we have had this conversation, many many many many times. UGH!

Wish CPS had a swat team at the house early this morning to drag her out by the hair of her thin mousy hair and throw her into a squad car and haul her to court to face her punishment for the way she has treated and abused her kids. Then after many years in jail, she finally walks out and then PETA has her thrown back in for many years. But, I know the last thing the kids need is more stress. We can dream can't we? But I just want her to stop!!! Can she just freaking STOP IT???

She needs an intervention now. She has totally lost it.

Did you see when the boys were feeding the chickens the paperwork that one boy was filling out? All I saw was line after line of detailed information. It looked worse than a complicated IRS audit form!

If those boys are working taking care of those chickens, she is selling the eggs and making money off of it because otherwise she would not mess with it. She has to be getting the tax credit for it. I think that since the boys do all the work for it, THEY should be getting all the profits off of it, not her!

On the solar panel episode, kate wasn't even paying attention to Steve until he told her that she would get a 4K tax credit for her solar panels. She then looked at the paper and said, ummm. Is it possible she took the credit, then sold the solar panels? Is that a one time credit or every year or a certain percentage per year? If she would do her children's clothes like she does, then she would have no problem taking the credit and then selling them to make more money because they were given to her by the company.

I agree with Sparkle and Rabid Beast above, I adore the teenage years. Sure, teens can be a bit more emotional, but they're still the same people as before, and you get to see glimpses of the adults they will soon become. I think if M&C are really so awful, it may be from being cooped up at the house constantly with their younger siblings. They need to get out of the house and away from the younger ones more often. They need more extracurriculars, they need time to just hang out with their friends (without their mother being present), and they need things to occupy their time and attention other than just chores. They both have a lot of resentment built up towards the tups. Not good.

Kate's proudest moments as a mother are when the kids are in bed at night. That says it all. It's all about HER surviving another day, nothing to do with the kids and their accomplishments. She can't get beyond herself, herself, herself enough to even show pride in her own children.

One of my proudest Mom moments (scroll past if you'd like) was just yesterday afternoon, when my 17-year-old asked all of us if we'd like to take part n a 5K run/walk to benefit his favorite charity (the Special Olympics). Every one of my boys (and DH and I) said yes without hesitation, even my eldest, a wounded veteran who is recovering from yet another surgery to help mend his damaged legs. They also all did the Polar Plunge to benefit SO this year. It makes me proud to see that they are growing up to be such caring, giving people.

The best scene that I saw was Kate talking on the couch about how the meltdowns still occur, mentioning Alexis in Utah screaming on the flight. The shot first goes to Kate crying and moaning, down to Alexis and then back up to Kate. Bravo editors, that was well done. Kate meltdowns the most of all of them. Kids are definitely cute, she is still horrible.

I had to laugh when I saw this one for the recap article. Sometimes hashtags on twitter are not a good thing, especially when they're used in front of the tweet.

I think it's very telling that Steve's face was blurred out in the show last night. If they have had some sort of falling out I can guarantee you that Kate made damn sure the producers all but erase him from the scenes.

I don't think it had anything to do with a falling out (I believe he's still very much still a part of her 'team' - cough) but was done to try to trick her critics from seeing that he's still around. I think they didn't want to deal with the affair rumors being resurrected if they didn't have to.

I haven't seen any comments on this yet, probably because it's so minor compared to everything else....

*What* was with that stupid scene where the family was getting ready to cross the street to go to the eye glass place or something....and she's got them all holding hands and demanding that they cross as a group????? Like you do with a bunch of 3 year olds.

(Oops! There's the explanation....a bunch of 3 year olds.)

Good god. They're 10 and 13. They do NOT need to hold each other's hands as they cross the street.
In rural Pennsylvania.

It's not like they were trying to cross a six lane freeway during rush hour and someone was going to get left behind.

Although she’s talking about suddenly having six little brothers and sisters, it’s also the truth about her family’s situation. Most kids don’t ask to be followed around by cameras. And for this reason, it seems as though it’s time for the Gosselins to say goodbye — this time for good."

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

I totally agree. This is just a mess and TFW is full of conflicting and hypocritical contridictions. Which is it? She tells one host that filming the update was something that everyone had to vote yes for unanimously. Then she tells another host that we wouldn't see them if she didn't have to support the kids. If she has to do this to support the kids what's the point of the vote? Was there ever a vote? She really thinks people are stupid and don't put all her lies together.

We've discussed this here before, there are things that young children should never get the chance to vote on. Kate acts like just because they (allegedly) said they wanted to do this, that gives this whole mess the Good Housekeeping seal of approval. Ummm.. given the chance to vote on it, 10 out of 10 kids would vote yes to having melted Hershey bars drizzled over peanut butter cups for dinner and having a bedtime of midnight on school nights! There's a reason why kids can't legally make decisions for themselves until they are 18.

Years ago I watched a VH1 episode of "Driven" about Britney Spears. It started at the beginning when she was a little girl and went all the way through until she hit it big. Lynne Spears kept saying over and over again "she wanted to do this, we just supported her any way we could." Ok, but the other running theme through that show was that the Spears were really broke in the early years. Maybe Britney really did want to do this, but should she have been allowed to? Did they let their dire financial situation and the hope she would hit it big cloud their judgement? She ended up supporting her entire family by age 18 and as we all know, was a very troubled young lady for several years.

I date myself, but does anyone remember the old Joe Isuzu commercials from the late 80s? The ones where he makes huge wild claims about what the truck can do and at the bottom of the screen it would flash "he's lying" "he's really lying" "he is not even close to the truth." That's what needs to happen whenever Kate sits down with a show host and opens her mouth.

Regarding TFW at the dodge ball game or whatever it's named....I do think Mady probably had not really hurt her knee (much anyway)...it was a way for her to save face when she saw that she was going to lose.

But to watch TFW go in for the kill like that. Horrifying. It was actually a little scary.

Watch the expression on one of the girl tups faces when TFW did that. Her mouth drops open in shock and her face shows distress for Mady.

Notice that the kids who were standing in the arena run after Mady to comfort her. None of them stay to celebrate TFW's win with her.

And that's the thing, she doesn't hone in on her children's cues, what their facial expressions are really saying. Instead of bringing up feelings or empathy or concern, seeing her kids hurt brings her pure joy. She was thrilled to have beat her. It's a Will Farrell movie for God's sake or an SNL skit, except it's real. And sad

Yep. She needs to make up her mind which lie to tell and then stay with it. If she can't force them then I guess that means that Globegate didn't happen and the Gosselin Household Manual was just a prop for CWS and Kendra's tears weren't real when she saw the chore list, the kids are free to make decisions on their own and everything in Kate's World has butterfly stickers pasted all over it? That's a relief because for a minute there I thought she was a bad mom.

What's with the 8 page checklist for the chicken care? God, it's not a rocket launch. They boys shouldn't be responsible for the chicken business she has going. Help out, sure, I guess. But why shouldn't the girls have to help then? If this is a team and we all work together?

I had the impression that all the chicken care is done with no adult supervision. At least not any supervision from TFW.

It looks like the girls stay in the house and do house tasks, and the boys do chicken tasks AND do house tasks.

One of the younger girls said something about the 'boys only help with the chickens' like they don't do much of anything, totally discounting their contribution to the household. Wonder where she heard that from?

I don't think Mady was really injured, as mentioned upline. However, Kate did stop and ask if she was really hurt or was it just dramatics? She is definitely attempting to make Mady the reason she is so over the top. Mady drives her crazy.

What I noticed is that the boys had no athletic agility in that piece. They were all eliminated quickly as were the tup girls. That is sad.

But the boys said Coliin is the manly man. I think he probably enjoys his chicken duties and I really don't have a problem with the chicken coop in general.

I also think a clipboard of them keeping track of feed/water and eggs collected is part of the job..

Overall, I thought the younger kids seemed content.

You could see her being in her glory.... See? I'm one with the twins! We're actually triplets!

It would be interesting to get a psychologist's take on that. There was something really off there. I didn't like the vibe, but I can't identify what I was seeing. Whatever I was seeing, it was scary. There was something really yucky about it. Something creepy.

=====================================================

I don't think Collin resembles Jon at all. Maybe Joel, but not Collin. She butts heads with him because he is stubborn like she is, and she stated manipulative and bored. So the chickens are at least an outlet for him. He is organized and bright. Jon, I would say is neither.

Collin was reprimanded once about trashing his sister's hair, and then she promptly tattled, "MOMMY, Collin said my hair was ugly", not nice for sure, but as soon as he was called out on it, he promptly went in again to say it was his opinion and he thought it was ugly. He said it very low key, very passive.

I think he is as screwed up as can be, but in a different way than Mady.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 199

Why is a child not allowed to have an opinion anyway? He doesn't have to be rude about it but I see no reason why a child must lie and say they like someone's hair when they don't. All this does is create an adult who tells white lies all the time, is disingenuous, self-serving, nonconfrontational, and can't be trusted as anyone's honest confidant. White lies are for when your wife is nine months pregnant other than that I don't find it to be a very helpful practice in adulthood.
