Paul Petersen: There is 'damage being done to' the Gosselin children

Petersen
In the second time this month a major media outlet has discussed the Gosselin twin's appearance last January on the Today show, Paul Petersen has spoken out to Yahoo T.V. The child advocate and former child star had this to say about the twins' "choking" on national T.V.:

""That was the most frightening example of the damage being done to these kids. They were incoherent. They couldn't say what they really felt. They'd been turned into these performing seals, and not for their own benefit. If they had at least been child actors, they would have a support group of similar kids. I think this is doing tremendous long-term damage — the kind of damage that you really don't see until 10 years later."

Osmond
Just last week, the hosts of The Talk, two of whom are former child stars, had similar criticism for the appearance. describing the twins as "shell-shocked" and "overwhelmed." Marie Osmond added, "As a parent, you need to look at your children's needs individually. I saw that Today show. Those girls didn't want to be on T.V. They shouldn't be on T.V. and that should be her responsibility as a mother."

Thank you Paul, Marie, Sara Gilbert and other former child stars who give these children a voice. You know better than anyone the dangers here. Of all people, Kate should listen to you.

I would think at 11:45 you would be serving lunch rather than a SECOND breakfast. Who is she fooling? That was breakfast.
****************************************************************8
The kids ate their first breakfast when they woke up, the second one is for when POS finally makes an appearance. It's really HER first breakfast. Staying up til the wee hours getting sloshed and twattering does not make for an early riser! (snark)

Jeanne said...

The comments on Radar are appalling. Kate had to beat them because there were 8 kids. Kate should beat them because otherwise kids turn into criminals.

Small children learn only one lesson from being beaten. They learn to fear the person who beats them. That's it. Their brains are not developed enough to make the connections you can make as an adult. So many parents make the mistake of thinking small children have the same logic as adults. This is why we have safety devices like outlet covers. The child doesn't understand that fingers in outlets will hurt. They will probably hear and understand No in the moment but not remember it 2 hours later. Punishing that child with a beating has no effect. He still wants to play with outlets because they are at eye level and fascinating. You have to cover the outlets or WATCH YOUR CHILD!

I am sure watching 8 children was hard. She drove away the helpful volunteers. After that, you put dangerous stuff out of reach and accept you have children. They will make messes and cause trouble. That's why God made them cute. Parenting is exhausting. Kate has no more forethought than her toddlers did.

I've been reading the comments on the most recent ROL article. If you're the type who's quick to temper I don't recommend it.

The debate is flying back and forth about spanking vs beating, punishing vs teaching etc...

What I don't understand is why we have laws to protect ADULTS from physical assault but not innocent children.

So, 30 year old jackass in line in front of me at the market is being extremely rude to the cashier and it's against the law for me to give him a good smack on the backside.

Innocent child, presumably bored and tired, throws a fit and mother or father is perfectly within their rights to give them a good smack.

The argument being the child is being "taught" to behave. So, the child who doesn't know better has LESS protection against assault than an adult who by all rights already knows better?

Yeah, that makes a whole lot of freakin' sense.

Speaking of amazing and amazingly good-looking men - Pierce Brosnan, at any age. Not only very handsome, but I believe he's a very good man through and through.

I think Brad Pitt was beautiful as a young man, and that was probably a double-edged sword. I think as he's aged, he's become more handsome and less beautiful. Just saw Mr. and Mrs. Smith again, and both he and Angelina were very nice to look at.

Today is day 3 of my 3-day vacation. We didn't go anywhere. On the first day, I dropped my car off to get some work done, and caught the city bus back home. Yesterday and today have been spent cleaning my house, as I try to get it ready for sale. Son did some painting on the front porch. Later on, he was pulling the car out of the carport and sideswiped two of the metal supports - so now I need some more repair work done before I sell! And that's my summer vacation - no second breakfasts, no lounging by a pool all day. On the other hand, no one is putting my business up on ROL and finding me to be a horrible mother and person, so I guess I wouldn't trade my mediocre life for Kate's sham of a life after all.

Yes, to the ELL! I haven't watched his new show that he started but I saw a preview of it. He was in the kitchen and it was hilarious. I am also very glad that they kept Ell and Olivia out of the bedroom because it would of ruined it. It wouldn't be the same. Who was that blonde headed detective he was about to kiss at the hospital in dim light, when all of a sudden his wife and kids popped up right behind him, but they managed to turn around and the det. said she was going to go get coffee. That was close. But I think that Ell and his wife were separated? can't remember.

I miss him really bad being off SVU. I also love the themed marathons on USA. I looked up Craig on imdb, wiki and it said who his wife was and that she was an artist. I image googled her art and it is very nice! I saved them into my documents and use them for avatars and wallpaper.

BUT, I also have a huge crush on Vincent D'Onofrio! Just like Ell he is compassionate, a big teddy bear. And he about knocked his brains out trying to find his partner when she was kidnapped. I love his character, he is a genius actor! And so is Ell!

I had picked him up and Colin played and had a couple of small scratches that just a few were bleeding, just a little and I was cleaning his arms with a washcloth.

He told me that he had to get back and I told him that I would call her and tell her we would be there when we got there. I was really nervous and worried about how she was going to react when I finally brought him back. I can't stand bad dreams where they make you feel like they are so real. I think the furniture store constipation show made so many people uncomfortable. Just watching a little guy crying and crying to their mother and the mother showing no sympathy to the child was just over the top sad. Then, to actually show the Dad taking the little guy out to the van was an invasion of the little guy's privacy if there ever was. Unspeakable and quite telling. If it was an unscripted reality show, they could have stopped filming and began another day. Those of us who used to watch the program were lead down the primrose path for quite some time until it just got too uncomfortable to watch and we began to have those sick feelings. It was kind of like watching a train wreck, or viewing a horribly wrecked vehicle. Sick and twisted. We all woke up, but the subject matter has not changed. They would still be leading us along if they could and laughing all the way to the bank.

Speaking of Pierce Brosnan - my husband and I were vacationing in Kauai, and we stopped at a small roadside cafe. Pierce Brosnan was there, sitting at a table right behind ours. I had my SLR camera sitting on the table (I carry it everywere when on vacation), but I didn't take his picture. I just felt it would have been too invasive. My husband and I didn't say much about him because his table was too close, he would have probably overhead our conversation.

However, as we were leaving the cafe, I was absolutely mortified when my husband actually said to Mr. Brosnan, "my wife would love to have her picture taken with you." To this day, I still cringe when I think of that moment. And to make matters worse, Mr. Brosnan simply shook his head no and waved us away.

As I said I was mortified, and I was furious at my husband for embarrasing me like that. For the record, my husband knew I liked Pierce Brosnan and he claims he was just trying to do me a favor. I really didn't blame Brosnan, he obviously just wanted a nice quiet lunch. But I do admit, I think a little less of Brosnan because of that incident.

I get that he doesn't want to do that yet there are plenty of celebs who will always, always do that no matter what.

I'm not sure how I feel about him. I know squat about him, but I do know about his kid Dylan, who was friends with the kids I nannied with. Or at least HE wanted to be friends with them. He was VERY quiet and younger than my kids but he wanted to come over there ALL the time. Like to the point where they would avoid the poor kid. I just always wondered why the heck he wanted to be with them so much. It's not like that house wasn't dysfunctional or they weren't being raised by nannies too. He was bored at his house for some reason, and that's concerning. They could have afforded a really great nanny who could come up with great fun things for him to do. Where was SHE? SHE never came over with him. ODD. It was like he would just show up, it was walking distance. I think the fact that I never heard a peep about his father suggests perhaps he just really wasn't engaged with the community or his family. I don't know what that's about but I will never forget that sad kid.

I think it's even worse when Kate doesn't shut such ridiculous behavior down. Kinda makes you wonder, doesn't it? If she had 8+ weeks of bedrest with twins, then clearly she wasn't working much at all after she got married. She lies for a living

Like I said it would be extremely unusual to have to go on bed rest at her age. She was fit, healthy, tall, not too skinny or too fat, VERY young and perfectly capable of handling a pregnancy with two babies. She never said she had toxemia or placenta issues, which would be a common reason to go on bed rest. Almost everything else is pretty rare. We are able to monitor babies much better at home now, I have a couple friends who had twins and they all had monitors, home blood pressure kits and other things provided to them. Nobody went on bed rest, and one of them was 44 at the time.

Of course such a bed rest order can happen for someone like her, but it's rare. All the rare things happen to Kate. Like the boy who cried wolf, she can't be believed.

I know some people don't buy it, but I think Hoffman's discussion of how she manipulated the fertility process is probably very close to the truth. If she really only wanted one more, then why not do IVF? She got pregnant very quickly with the twins, so chances are, she would have been successful with that procedure. IVF would have guaranteed she couldn't have more than the # of embryos implanted. I don't believe any doctor would have done more than two at one time (well, excepting Octomom's doctor) for a woman only wanting "one more." No, she went the IUI route, which was much less predictable with respect to the issue of multiples. And with a different doctor, no less, despite having been successful with the first doctor.

Things that make you go hmmmm.

I have never in my life heard a woman bring up her pregnancy so much. Especially when it has nothing to do with anything. Why can't she just say she got obsessed with Big Brother when it first came out? Why does she have to throw it in there about bed rest? It's stupid and unnecessary.

Women talk about their pregnancy for like 3 months afterward then the story is old and certainly boring. It's let go at that point unless someone asks.

There were some legitimate sheeple who showed up to that meet and greet they showed on the show at the food drive. We got a good look at them. Needless to say I can't picture palling around with any of them.

The kind of people who order things from QVC all the time, make tatar tot casserole, couldn't tell you what's going on in Israel other than their pastor told them to support Israel--probably not all that bright. A grown woman had Alexis' name tattooed on her. It's not normal. It's just not. That's not to say any of those women can't be a perfectly decent and good person, but I truly believe that Kate's schtick does not fool most people sharper than a dull pencil.

You know the whole beating a child debate is a perfect example.

There's some sheeples out there going on about how beating kids is good for them. And what that is, is that they were beaten as children and told it's good for them.

And when you have a brain, you can grow up and acquire something called critical thinking skills, and realize that not everything you heard growing up was correct. Maybe just maybe those adults telling you this is good for you you'll thank them, were flat out wrong. And you part ways with the way things used to be for you and form your own path. This is part of normal ADULT development. Adults develop too.

I really think it's a critical thinking issue. They can't see beyond black and white. They can't think outside the box or ever question what they've been told. And the sad thing is what it comes down to is they're simply not that bright.

Since I didn't watch TLC's airing on tv I watched the 'special' on youtube tonight.

There was nothing special about it.

The fridge disturbed me. Most people have photos and pics and little things of interest that brighten the day on their fridge doors. Kate has a chore list all straight and in order.

And the clipboard. WTF? Why does she have a check list for chickens? I know farm animals need maintenance but for the love of pete unless that's a certified poultry farm what is her problem? I think she made that list up just to keep her icky boys outside a little longer. Bitch is nasty.

Anyway, as to Admin's point, I have a Sheeple check list, it's short but I'm sure it could be lengthened...

Have the sheep been fed? yes/no

Did the sheep eat all the bullshit? yes/no

Did they drink all the koolaid? yes/no

Are any of the sheep cracked? yes/no

Were the lights off? yes/no

Agree, Auntie. I don't know what TLC can do to make K+8 a ratings draw.
It's all been done, and seen, and at this point, it feels voyeuristic to any normal-brained adult.
Creepy.
Who needs to see Kate bitch and moan and pat herself on the back yet one more time?
Kate scrambles eggs, the kids brush their teeth in the kitchen sink, the kids give fidgety interviews on the set couch, the kids pick out glasses for a boy, the kids look marginally amused by an entire carnival in their own backyard (jaded much?).

Honestly, Kate looked 1000x calmer and had her shit way more together during their first Discovery specials when she had 6 toddlers, not 10 and 13-year olds.

Now, all she does is mug for the camera as she transitions manically from harried "single" mom to self-professed Mom Of The Year, in full hair and makeup, of course.

If you run across any forums on women with fertility issues, these gals had Kate's number years ago. I wonder if Jon has finally realized how he was tricked, not to say he regrets any of the children, just that honesty is not in Kate's DNA and she sought out a weak man to carry out her plan. I've said this before having worked at a hospital, you have an "in" and it's easy, especially as a nurse (I was not BTW), to recite symptoms to a doctor who trusts a nurse should know what she is talking about. I would guess that Kate's last fertility doctor had some explaining to do before a board because six bables is not what you shoot for (except if you are Kate Gosselin). I am glad Robert put it out there how she plotted to have multiples. I totally believe him. She's a Masterminder alright.

With this series of articles, Radar is showing by day by day that Kate is a lying liar who lies. If her mouth is moving, she's lying. She tried to create a fictional account of her life and how she lives for her kids and does it all by herself. With concrete evidence that filming has been harmful to the kids, she tried to sanitize it- "The kids love filming, it's our normal!" "The crew is our family, we'll always stay in touch!" "They all cheered when the crew walked in the door and it was like they never left!" " They are like a whole a crew of Daddies for my kids!" I'm sure Kate felt especially smug with that pile of BS. Not only was she trying to show that filming is awesome for her kids, look, see the crew is like family too! They don't need blood relatives, they have extended Daddies!!!

Of course Kate has every right to have a list of rules and expectations for the crew while they are in her home (anal and overbearing as the list may be.) What the sheeple are not getting, or are choosing to ignore, is that Kate was caught lying. That isn't a list for beloved crew Daddies and people who "are part of the family." That is a list for a rotating group of strangers because that's what their crew ended up being. Sounds like many of them split for other shows after dealing with Kate. Beloved crew Daddies wouldn't need a manual.

At the end of the day, no matter how many articles Radar puts out, the sheeple will never budge in their support for Kate. Asking people with no conscience, couth, morals or character to find fault with a woman who has no conscience, couth, morals or character will never happen. In their minds, they think Kate is a genius for pulling this whole mess off and lying her ass off to get there.

I don't have a problem with expectations either but a normal adult doesn't do it like this like it's summer camp and you're talking to eight year olds about closing the toilet seat. It's a big reason why she has about two real friends, because no one likes to be spoken to like this.

If Matt always leaves the door open, next time you pass Matt you say to his face "hey Matt do you mind closing the doors after you? It's letting bugs in and things. Thanks! Hey great work on that episode last week we loved it."

Even more galling is the fact that when they were filming at the new house, we KNOW there were any number of people employed to clean her house. You could say that each separate article that Radar is publishing may be nit-picking (not that I agree) but when you put them all together you get overwhelming evidence of a pattern of behavior and a toxic environment that the kids had to live in. The overall story is what the public needs to consider - this is what those of us that have been following this saga for years can see. Repeated behavior, events, nasty stuff that she keeps doing over and over again.

Yes the situation played perfectly to the harpy's "strengths."

The crew must have been shaking their heads and laughing their butts off. It's unheard of for the talent to boss around the crew. That's not how the hierarchy works. The talent may be the people paid the most but they are there to hit their marks and perform, not tell some guy twisting a lightbulb what to do. Her ideas of how Hollywood works have always been glaringly off and I think it has played a pretty major role in why she can't get any work.

lukebandit said...

One of the rules stated was that she or Jon had to be there whenever the crew was on the "not-a-set". Yet when they filmed the episode when she and Jamie went to NYC and filmed the kids at home, she wasn't there. I guess Ashley became the substitute Jon.

The one about no smoking/drinking in the house and on the property, I can understand. But she also said "or on the road in front of the house". Did she think she owned the road, too? Kind of gives new meaning to the phrase "rules of the road".

&&&

It's def a big picture thing. The sum of the parts.

The problem is for Radar to break it up like this, piece by piece, makes it a lot easier for the sheeple to strike it down as nitpicky. The nitpick things really needed to be listed all together in one or two stories to give them some context. You have to remember a lot of people may not read Radar every single day or know a lot about this. You have to assume the reader knows nothing and you have to give them context, not pieces.

The consignment story was one of their worst. Of course she has every right to take those clothes to consignment. But in order to give that story context, it also needed to run at the same time as a story about how while all this was going on they were flying first class telling little ole church ladies they were poor and pocketing huge speaking fees. Then it makes sense.

While I appreciate what Radar is trying to do here, I think they could be hurting things more than they are helping. They either need to share all the nitpick things at once or forgot those all together and focus on the major things like the abuse.

MaryB said...

But even if Radar may be hurting things by putting out nitpick stories it may be making people more curious thus encouraging more people to buy the book. Then the entire story in context would be understood.

ex Nurse said...

I don't think that the rules themselves are out of line. What is offensive is her assumption that they need to be told in such a demeaning way. I owned a service business for years, and most, if not all, of the rules are simply the norm of professional behavior in a workplace. We worked in people's homes and businesses, and, of course, we did our best to accomodate them to minimize disruption--as long as we could get our jobs done. This included booting booties on, cleaning up after yourself, staying in designated areas, etc. I'm quite sure that TFW thinks that she invented the rules of professional conduct. Unfortunately, she is the one who routinely ignored those very same rules, every time she interfered with their ability to do their jobs. She has no sense of teamwork, or how to work with people. I think that this is what killed her career.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Ex nurse you nailed it, it's not the rules themselves it's the queen bee condescending attitude about it.

It would probably be very annoying to have a crew in your house. I wouldn't want it. I don't think a crew would be worried so much about mud on their boots. They're worried does the lighting work right can I hear everything is the exposure off. Their boss wants to know did you get the shot, not did you track mud in. Plus most sets are obviously not people's homes. You can do whatever and clean it all up later. Even sets that are people's homes, they move out and you restore it all later, so this would be a change for many crew members.

A simple solution would be to put it right in the contract that after every shoot the production is to the restore the house to how it was before they got there. All that said, I think it does seem ungrateful. She was getting paid a heck of a lot of money to put up with five or six guys who weren't concerned with their muddy boots or closing doors. That was really part of what she was getting paid for, to open up her home to a big inconvenience. If she didn't like that they could have filmed everything outside the home. And as I recall they did make a lot of it up to her, like paying her electric bill.

If they paid her extra to film at the house it was a set. If they had lights permanently affixed in the old house it was a set. Once she moved into the McMansion and kicked Jon out it has never been a home it's always been a house that TFW lives in with the kids. Merely living in it doesn't make it a home. It's the love, respect and family that make it a home. TFW will never have a real home, just a house with her kids in it.

That's not to say any of those women can't be a perfectly decent and good person, but I truly believe that Kate's schtick does not fool most people sharper than a dull pencil.

&&&&&&&&&&&&

Yes, and here's the thing. Wouldn't you think that they could look at the whole picture? I get that they support Kate, but why do they think that she's perfect and does no wrong? True friends wouldn't be enablers. Wouldn't you wonder why all of these articles come out that are negative? Why all of the comments from even hosts on national television? Surely all of these people aren't holding some kind of long-lasting grudge against her. It's not a vengeance thing. They observe, they see, and many of these people have dealt with her on a personal level. They have seen what she's really like. What is it about the sheeple that they can't think outside the box? Why can't they sit down and say, wait a minute, something isn't right here with this woman? For example, dragging those twins on national television was one of her dumber moves, and yet the fans deflect by saying that they had stage fright and clammed up...many kids behave like that. The sheeple can't look at that and say, hey, that's not the point -- she had no business trotting them out in the first place. What was her motive?

Of course, I think by now it's a matter of pride -- the battle with the haters must continue. The fans can't back down. They'd lose face, and they're not about to let that happen.

I honestly believe it goes back to the cult thing. I know some were up in arms here when that was suggested, but when a person is brain-washed enough, all reasoning goes out the window along with critical thinking ability. When you throw lack of intelligence into the mix, along with Celebrity Worship and the need for self-importance (knowing that a celebrity is giving you the time of day) it's a recipe for a blind-following. They get nothing out of this allegiance to her, only a bone now and then only when she feels like it. But they keep reassuring her that they "have her back." She's a grown woman who doesn't need strangers standing behind her, let alone a tiny group of mostly teen fans who have nothing to offer her other than a few "Kate is amazing" tweets, and some grown adults who are as emotionally stunted as she is.

When you think about it, and what she could have had if she had only been nice and not alienated everyone around her, it's really quite sad. She had too much, too soon, and wasn't smart enough to know how to handle all of it.

I agree with those who point out that having certain rules for people or crews coming to your home is fine. But yes, TFW's tone is always very demeaning and condescending. Instead of politely asking people to follow certain guidelines, she has to bark those orders to them. It's all about establishing that she is in the superior position.

And the comment about the fridge made me laugh. I am getting ready to sell my home and so I've been taking some photographs of the interior. Had to clean off my fridge of all the pictures, grade reports, drawings and magnets. The front and one side are completely covered with all sorts of photographs.

TFW had been in the entertainment industry for a handful of years, based on nothing but birthing a litter of children. And she had the audacity to make lists of demands for people who may have been
doing their jobs for decades. I am not saying she didn't have a right

I read the crew rules, they are for the most part, reasonable rules, however, it's the tone and condescending way she gives them. If you want a crew to follows some important reasonable house rules, then you call a short meeting, pass out copies of reasonable house rules, which are just plainly stated, and then let crew read and ask questions and work it out. Crew would be more willing to follow rules. Not bark out rules, be rude to them and be condescending and I'm sure Kate had notes placed everywhere to remind people, of the rules, how things are to be left, how towels are to be folded, etc. And then would bitch to TLC, if rules were not followed. TLC had made a monster. Wasn't one of the early crew, got transfer to the Duggars, cause they did not like working with Kate?
Course, my rules would be simple: no smoking in house, no drinking, taking drugs, no sex, clean up after yourself, keep bathroom clean, put trash in trash can, please close doors when A/C on, and shut lights off, take shoes off in house. Unlike Kate, I would treat them like guests in my home, what I would ask above would be almost same rules for kids. They are not unreasonable rules.

getofftwitter said...

Admin: Kate does not work well with other people. It's her way or get out. No compromise. If you want a crew to do things almost your way then you be nice to them. From time to time I have to have something fixed at my house, and when the guy comes to fix something I watch and talk to them ask questions, and you know, sometimes they will do something for free, or give a discount, just cause you were nice. (nothing sexual, just treating them like a person). Earlier this week, the tree trim guys showed up to trim my tree(I did not call them, but perhaps the Gas company did) I ask them about trimming some lower branches, and they did, did not have to. I thanked them, and everything was cool. Gas company is moving the meters out of your house, and they have to do much prep work, they dug up part of my nice leveled lawn, and ate on my lawn and cleaned up after, all cause I talked to them, to find out what they were doing, and joked about finely getting a leveled lawn and now I have a hole in my lawn. Those guys have been nice ever since, they go back & forth, and make a lot of noise. This is about a 2-3 month project. What I'm trying to say is you are nice, treat the workers like people, they sometimes will give you a discount, or leave you place just as they found it or better.

Kate's house is not the first house that crew filmed in. I'm sure they have the common decency to respect her things. I would not have made an issue of it unless it became an issue.

***********

Don't be so sure. I worked a fundraising event last year with a production crew whose day jobs are in TV/film. Among other things, they ate their lunches at tables already covered in rented linens for the event, staining everything. They also left a ton of trash in one of the seating sections that someone had to scramble to clean moments before doors opened.

There is a reason for the type of rules that Kate had. Production crews are not respectful of property or space. It's a prevailing attitude in the industry -- our work is SO incredibly important that we don't care who we inconvenience in the process.

What I am getting from this Radar article is not just that Kate has no idea how to get along with people (no news here, folks) but that this is proof that Robert has contact with at least one of the crew. Just as we have hoped that one nanny spilling the beans might lead to more of them doing the same, maybe more of the crew will, too. Of course it's difficult if you want to continue to be a nanny or part of a film crew (and there's that pesky CA) but if someone were plagued by guilty knowlege of something I would hope they would come forward. By this I do not mean wearing booties and turning off lights. I'm talking about abuse, fraud and other things that go beyond being rude and crazy.

The crew must have been shaking their heads and laughing their butts off. It's unheard of for the talent to boss around the crew. That's not how the hierarchy works. For those wondering about Kate's kid-free fridge, she has stainless. Magnets don't stick to stainless! I was disappointed to find that out the hard way.

Face it, Kate is not nice. She doesn't think of others. I volunteer with a food bank and we get to take the leftover baked goods at the end of the shift. We had our landscaping redone and it took weeks. Every day, I had pastries or cookies or something for the guys, as well as a cooler of drinks. If I didn't snag any sweets, I made a batch of brownies, which takes no effort at all. A couple of times, I got them pizza or BBQ. They loved it and referred to me as 'la senora' and were so nice throughout our time together. They even finished the job early. And I didn't even think of them as family or crew daddies, just a group of men doing a very hard and hot job!

I'm not even saying this to toot my own horn - this is how MOST people think! Nobody enjoys sitting in their air conditioned house and watching people sweat while working hard for them, and doesn't think to do something to show their appreciation. Sheesh! I offered to let them use the bathroom but they were uncomfortable with that. But if they had, you know what? You just sweep up the dirt after they leave. It's not a tragedy if dirt gets on the floor or a bug flies in. And she had filthy soles on her feet - that house was not THAT clean!

------------------------
Totally agree. Incongruent, as they miss the boat on why it was it was so offensive.

In summary, she can't get along with anyone long term, who comes in contact with her. Her lack of appreciation, greediness, anger, and demanding behavior has been so over the top and demanding/entitled that most normal/average/ people find her offensive. This is not going to end well at all if some major changes are NOT made soon. And unfortunately, I don't think she will ever get it. Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Industry Hater I'm sorry you had a bad experience on your set. That's sounds really unacceptable. I've been on the set of a CW sitcom, a feature film with Chris Pine, and on the set of a short lived show on TBS called Glory Daze I doubt anyone's seen. I hung out with the set teacher and had numerous interactions with the crew. I did not find any of those crews to be rude or full of themselves. They didn't make a mess. They ate like adults in the area designated for craft services. Everyone was extremely nice to me even though I was a nobody. Even some of the cast chatted with me. On two of the sets I really wasn't entitled to craft services not being employed on that set but just a visitor, but both times I was invited to join in and eat with them, for free.

I don't think it's fair to judge an entire industry based on one bad experience. There are good crews and bad crews. I think a lot of that depends on who is picking the crew in the first place. One of the directors had people on the crew he had worked with for decades he could trust. This is like anything. That's sort of like saying you had a bad nurse caring for you so all nurses are terrible. That's not the case. I just completely disagree that you can make a blanket statement that crews are as awful as yours was.

That said why would Kate call her crew daddies if they were so bad? She says she loves them, they're family. For someone who loves them so much, it's hard to imagine they were rude like the crew you encountered. That doesn't make sense especially for Kate.

In any case, it's really irrelevant whether the crew was the rudest crew in the industry. Kate doesn't get it. It's not the rules themselves. Of course the crew should close doors behind them and not track in mud. The issue is how she spoke to them, like little children who needed a slap on the wrist. I don't care how disrespectful someone is being, an adult treats their coworkers with respect. Especially when those people are your bread and butter. As someone else suggested, a meeting should have been called to go over the house expectations in a respectful matter. The "period!" and exclamation points and other talking down was wholly unnecessary and frankly immature. What if your boss talked to you like that?

I find it interesting she is admitting those are her emails. And just so she knows, she has no ownership rights to emails once you send them out. The law is very clear emails are not your personal property once you hit send. Too bad so sad.

&&&

They're deflecting again or is it deFLECKing.

It's irrelevant to the point whether the emails were "stolen" or given up freely by Kate. That doesn't change their contents which is what we're objecting to.

Whether someone was improperly disclosed them is a completely separate issue that has nothing to do with the contents of the property allegedly stolen. If they'd like to debate that, that's fine, but it's a separate issue and doesn't take away from the issue of their CONTENT. Given that we have no information about this "theft" other than Kate making some vague reference to it, I can't imagine this conversation could go on for long. I mean, she dropped the whole lawsuit about the theft so that is a real head scratcher if she's back to that whole schtick about this.

I am doing a big project about child brain development for a project I'm working on that has to do with CA legislation for this policy committee I'm on (I'm a huge nerd) and the research is even MORE compelling lately, due to updated medical techniques about a child's brain. In addition to it being the morally correct thing to be respectful and kind to others, as others have pointed out it often comes with perks. Not only in how it should make you feel good but in the niceties and favors you tend to get back. For someone like Kate who lives off favors and freebies, it's perplexing that she never saw this connection.

From an evolutionary standpoint it makes sense to do things that make the world turn round smoother. AND from a selfish standpoint. It works on all accounts. There are numerous sociology articles out there explaining why a smart person would choose to be nice and altruistic. But then, she ain't so smart.

For example, had she been nice to her crew, they would be more inclined to work all the harder to make her look good. These people helped her become a multi millionaire. Be nice, it's to your benefit.

Getting back to the rules for the crew for a moment. She wouldn't let the crew use the bathrooms in the house, but she had no problem with them filming the kids when they were in the bathroom. Remember when they were moving into the new house, and one of the kids had pooped in the bathroom? Well, the crew was right up there filming what was going on, even if they didn't actually show the kids using the bathroom.

Even in the special, they showed Mady fixing her hair in a bathroom. So the bathrooms were only off limits to the crew when they needed to use them for themselves.

Not "some" production crews. Not "the majority" of production crews. Just "production crews." Well that's simply not true, because I've been around production crews who were wonderful and incredibly respectful of property and space. Kate's seems to be wonderful too if she calls them her family and daddies.

The fact that some production crews may be rude has no bearing on whether Kate's crew was. I found Jen's emails to be extraordinarily accommodating. So I don't understand what your story has to do with Kate's situation nor do I understand why that would justify being so god damn rude and condescending in "rules" to them.

It sounds like you just got one of the bad apples in the bunch. I have worked with many production crews, and I can't remember any that were disrespectful and thought they were holier-than-thou. It's good to hear I'm not the only one who had good experience with crew. I took a photography workshop in downtown L.A. that was really cool. We walked by the Bradbury building and saw a really pretty P.A. standing out there guarding the door and talking to somebody else on the radio getting info on filming inside. We approached her and started chatting her up and she was extremely nice and humble. Then we asked if we could take her portrait for our class. She did the whole giggle thing and buried her face behind her hand, oh no no I'm way too shy for that no please! Then she was like let me find my coworker she'll do it, and she took time to find her friend and put her out for us to be our model, lol. She too was very nice and let us do whatever with our cameras for a long time.

So this whole I'm hot stuff whatever I'm working in HOLLYWOOD, I look down on commoners? Certainly was not the case for her. She was even shy about a few simple photographs for a class and she had no problem being extremely friendly to people just walking by. I just can't think of a bad experience I've had. They've all been really FUN.

Some of Milo's other tweets to Kate. Isn't she the one who once said you shouldn't talk negatively about people you don't know? I guess that only apply to Kate.

@Kateplusmy8 I think N the end people R seeing what a nutjob this source was...&his compadre N crime! The tide will turn...vindication 4U!

I think the tide IS turning, but not in Kate's favor.

I took a look at ROL and Kate is on the shame-o-meter, not just once but twice. She's in at #4 and #2!

Milo recently tweeted this platitude to Kate, but it could apply to Jon and Robert, because from their tweets tonight, Jon and Robert are in their minds.

""When someone speaks of you negatively, be flattered. To be in someone’s mind is to have power over them. Revel in the fact that they subconsciously reserve thoughts and energy for you."

Agree. So go put your money where you mouth is and GET ONE. Stop whining on Twitter. It's completely immature and just silly. And did I mention embarrassing.

You're not hard of hearing are you? Robert DID lay in ditches and follow her and watch her every move. He admitted it.

This is not "stalking." This is what paparazzi were doing to her too at the exact same time. Should they be arrested for stalking? I don't like paparazzi either but the law is the law and stalking laws permit celebs to be followed around by the media even amateur book writers. Remember the guy writing a book on Sarah Palin who moved next DOOR to her and watched the house all day long? Super creepy. Super legal.

And I don't even like the guy.

I think you're splitting hard with the word 'stalk'. Robert did do all that freaking creepy stuff. What other word would you call it? He didn't just camp outside her home. He followed her everywhere. Even when she jogged.

I get that she's a public figure and all but even you admit that what he did was wrong.

I wonder if Kate realizes that Amber Ryland and ROL both follow her on twitter? Amber, who is writing all the stories about excerpts from the book, is probably keeping an eye on Kate's twitter, especially since no one from Kate's "camp" has responded to their requests for a comment.

If anything, her tweeting tonight just gave them more fodder for another story on her. It wouldn't be the first time they did a story based on her tweets, and she can't call it "lies" because she's the one who said it.

''Uhhh....Robert pretty much admits he DID stalk her. So....Kate's right in this ONE instance.''

Well, I'm not as convinced as you that Robert admitted he stalked WOS. What he DID say is that he was working...more or less a paparazzi. I would have to see an actual quote of Robert saying he stalked WOS before I would ever say WOS was ''right in this ONE instance.''

Read PA stalking laws.

They require intent. The intent must be you are stalking with the INTENT to place such other person in reasonable fear of bodily injury or to cause substantial emotional distress to such other person. I don't see it with Robert. He was trying to get information for a book, not cause anybody harm. You gotta have that intent. Kate would never be able to show that, which is probably why if she ever did call her attorney about this, they obviously chose not to file a complaint.

I'm on a stickler on this. If you are going to use a legal term to describe someone's behavior, you better be sure that behavior qualifies. Otherwise, call it annoying or creepy. Do not call it stalking. That is a legal term with legal implications. It's not splitting hairs.
