Exactly. I really do not care if TV execs or filmmakers want to offer Kate a role on a tv show or film. Let her have as much success as she can generate. (However, we've seen how poorly she does when all on her own - she can't carry the weight.)
I am still firmly against filming kids for reality tv. It is an invasion of their privacy and their childhood, and it puts them in greater danger for stalkers and other predators than the average child.
But, if children are going to be filmed, they should have some very stringent legal protections in place, whether they are child actors, or playing themselves on a reality tv show. First and foremost - any contract involving them and their work should be reviewed by an independent attorney and approved by a judge. No more having their lives completely signed away to TLC or anyone else. They should have a court-appointed advocate who monitors filming and also monitors that the funds meant for the child are properly set aside. (No more single payment to the parents. I say that the money paid to the family for filming should be divided equally among the family members involved. Each child gets and equal share of that income, to be set aside untouched until they reach the age of 18 or 21.) No child should be responsible for supporting the household, ever. If the parents claim they can't afford to support the family without that child's equal portion - then shame on those parents and maybe they need to start working 2 and 3 jobs.

I find it amazing when a Reality TV show ends, the "stars" are all up in arms that now they have to get a real job. I feel bad for the kids in these situations. If it were not for Honey Boo Boo there would not have been a show....if it were not for the G6, no show, Roloffs with twins, "one normal size and the other one little like us"...their words not mine, no show. I understand that Shirley Temple, the Little Rascal people and others of that era supported their families. Hopefully more people like Rep. Murt of PA and Paul Petersen will get on board and start protecting kids.

Her nonsense tweeting about her minor catastrophes is particularly irritating because yesterday our nephew's family lost their home and all their possessions in a fire. It is just devastating, but they will get through this because of the love and support and generosity of family, friends, neighbors, and their community.
The response to their need has been overwhelming. I am so grateful to the firefighters who risked their lives to battle the blaze and save other homes, to the police, to the EMTs, to the neighbors who brought coats and shoes, and to the Red Cross who were so quick to the scene.
Yesterday was a sad and dark day, but it was also an incredibly joyful day because our family members, and their dog, escaped with their lives. That is all the matters.

A house her square footage probably has TWO hot water heaters. PLUS the garage apartment will have its own. Just saying because I had a house with 5000 sq feet and that's the way most larger homes are set up. She is absolutely ridiculous tweeting such a thing. Hot water heaters don't last forever. What does she expect with such a large home? They can be money pits, but she can easily afford to replace a hot water heater. I agree. I am curious, though, how some of them can live on Kate's timeline, tweeting the same things over and over again, lashing out with such hatred, and directly tweeting her with these insults. If it makes them happy, though, and this is their life, then that's what they need to do. I don't understand it, and I don't agree with it, but it's their business how they fill their days.

I have relatives who are plumbers. They carry hot water heaters right on the truck. If yours is an odd size or something they get it from the warehouse the next business day. Or from Home Depot or Lowe's if it's a weekend. Or they call around until they find another plumber with one in stock.
They're on call 24/7. They don't usually go out in the middle of the night for a water heater, but if you want to pay their emergency call rates, they'll do it. Most people elect to wait til morning. It's about a 1.5-2 hour job.
Not worth tweeting about. How mundane. But that's our Kate. Boring as all get out.

One morning without hot water is ridiculously difficult. Been there done that. There's no way most people used to modern comforts would survive more than one or two. They don't live in rural Alaska. Surely someone could come out and look at it, or they could shower in another part of the house.
It also seems really dangerous to have eight kids taking ice cold showers then head out in the cold this time of year.
It is really sad to think she might be exaggerating or even making this all up. She's really got nothin' at this point.

I guess the ongoing comfort, well-being, health and welfare of remarkable children wasn't very high on TLC's list of priorities back then.
At least Jon takes responsibility for his part in this and didn't lay all the blame on Kate. He said they both had to take it upon themselves to ensure the kids weren’t overworked although I don't think that is completely true. Somehow I think Kate was in charge and he had to go along with what she said or there would be hell to pay.
That said, it was honorable of him not throw his ex-wife under the bus at Thursday's forum. I hope Kate appreciates that.

My mid ds came and stayed with me. While I was being pre-op'd, he got sick, stepped into the bathroom, shut the bathroom door, passed out, fell and was knocked out for either 1 or 2 minutes!!!! I was beside myself when I saw him crumpled in the floor! I screamed for help when the nurse opened the hallway door and was getting help! They managed to get him awake and finally he was able to sit up. Then he managed to get to the chair. So very upsetting, I kept blaming myself, but he is fine. It looked and sounded worse than it was, except for the time he was out.

IIRC (I can verify later), Jon and Kate were responsible for getting work permits for filming the kids, according to their TLC contract.
It appears they never did once even try, because if they did, they would have been told the tups didn't even qualify.
Then again, I wonder if all the spin about the kids just playing and running in and out of frame and the HUGE finger-waggling admonitions that "we are not scripted!" was to avoid any penalties for making unqualified and unpermited kids work.
I'd say that making more than 1 episode per week is working.

Kate never said she didn't shower for 3 days, she said "my shower" following 3 days of broken...
I bet she just had to use the kid's bathroom and took a quickie, but now has the master bath to use and could settle in and relax for a longer period of time.
Note she never mentions not being able to use the dishwasher, or the kids not being able to shower.
I think it affected part of the house, including the master bath, and that's why it was so earth shattering to Kate.
OT I'm coining a new phrase. I'm calling it "recipe bombing". It's when you review a recipe and make so many changes you can't actually say you tried the original recipe.

I missed the first few seconds, but didn't see any footage of Kate nor hear them even mention her.

As I have said before, I don't care what filming TFW does herself; just leave the kids out of it. So given that CA will air- I have no problem with that. Let's face it, TFW will be TFW....... Will most likely support our assertions of her behavior and how poorly she gets along with other people.
The "one of our water heaters broke," speaks of desperation. Clearly there was water in some parts of her house, the aptmt and never mind she was filming for interviews. Not shocked, this woman has been "creating" drama for years, where there is none.
I often wonder what her kids think of her embellishments. Although they are probably used to it by now. (Mom does not always tell the truth.) What is she teaching them?

Jon probably had no idea Kate was going to NYC so he could exercise his right of first refusal. Just like he said he had no idea when he showed up to the garage sale it would be filmed.
It's nice to hear his kids invited him. A parental alienator may try their best but they are not going to be able to alienate every kid who comes their way. Love between a parent and child is a powerful thing. Plus the kids are getting well old enough to decide for themselves what they think of their father and his treatment of them, whether they enjoy his company and being with him, absent Kate's opinion.
OT I'm coining a new phrase. I'm calling it "recipe bombing". It's when you review a recipe and make so many changes you can't actually say you tried the original recipe.

Neither do I. Actually I think it's great. It will distract her from filming the kids. She'll have to do press, interviews, finale, etc., and it's highly unlikely they will have to be a part of it.
She just wants attention. If she doesn't need the kids to get that attention, she'll still take the attention. Quite frankly I think she PREFERS attention without the kids. She always seems happier and grinning like a fool when she gets to go to these press things. She never acts like that when the kids are around. It's just when the attention well runs dry she has to pull out her safety net the kids to drum up interest again. I think if she had her way she'd never have to share the attention with her kids ever again. They are merely a tool to get what she wants.
Why is Kate listed first? I do not believe she won. From all of the twitter leaks, she was not fired first, unless they taped a bunch of decoy scenes as a diversion.

We could pretty much tell from social media what happened. From what I remember from earlier this year it looks like Kate made it about halfway?
Some of us were saying if she were on a team that was winning a lot, expect her to stay longer than she deserves. She can't get kicked out if her team wins a lot.
Also, if there are many other big personalities jockeying for position, it's highly possible Kate could have sailed by a few extra weeks while everyone else around her self destructs. Guarantee she doesn't volunteer for project manager until absolutely forced to do it. Guarantee. She's cunning. She will let the cocky women step up for it then dig their own graves when they screw up. I can predict exactly how she will play this game down to a science. But the second she is actually forced to PM, she'll implode and be gone.

Here's another thing that kids this age are going to start to think when a parental alienator is trying to come between them and the other parent:
Mom you rarely ever talk to him or are around him, how the heck do YOU know about him and whether we should like him?
Some of us predicted her parental alienation might someday actually backfire on her. They are getting to an age where kids can be contrary to their parents just because they can. This is a big bone of contention these kids well know drives her nuts. They are obviously not afraid to even invite him now to things that KATE is at, that's how little control Kate has.
And this is what I mean about these kids walk all over her. If she REALLY had control of these kids, their relationship with Jon would be ruined. Apparently, it has not been, thankfully. Apparently they are even ballsy enough to ask him to come to an event Kate is at. Which just speaks to what little influence Kate really has at the end of the day.
Oh, for sure, TFW is never "lit up" when her kids are in her presence,
the way she is when she is alone in the spotlight. For pete's sake,
the woman actually admitted to preferring to be with her kids one
week, and away at work the next - "works best for our family." If
she has to bait the hook with her kids to scare up a gig, she'll do
it. But getting something on her own, where it's all about her --
room service, getting driven around, gift baskets just for showing
up, full hair and makeup and chitchat with other "celebs" -- that's
when that Grinchy grin unfurls.

I am in Jon's corner right now, but I would think he might assume TLC would be at the sale (as we all did) given recent filming and the idea of Kate having a public yard sale 'all on her own.' It was advertised on the radio and newspapers, social media...maybe one of the kids told Jon.I do admire his saying that the original TV show seemed like a good way to support the eight- but didn't he have Kate figured out yet? There are questions about how much Jon knew about various things in my mind and why he didn't act sooner- but I am definitely supporting him in his quest to seek more custody and stop filming. This was a good first step ( or maybe not first, but of what we know) It's been a hard road for him and he is starting to step up more.

Let's compare the garage sale event versus this press junket.
She had a polite smile at the sale once in awhile. Most of the time no smile. Her hair and makeup with pretty terrible. She didn't bother.
Now look at her with the Donald. She's grinning so hard those veneers are going to pop out. She's dressed to the nines, all dolled up.
She really cannot help being so obvious. Of course the celeb lifestyle is her lifeblood. This other crap is just a chore, a means to an end. Her 9 to 5 job until the real fun.
I think the only reason CA is still around is because Joan Rivers taped some boardroom stuff before she died. Trump and NBC are all about the ratings.What better than to have a ghost on the show.

I'm sure he assumed it as did we. Although to be fair some of us said are we SURE this is a filmed event? I took that to mean nobody told him that or verified that with him. Not that he didn't have his suspicions.

Maybe the kids are so used to the cameras the past few months they assumed he knew and didn't specifically mention it. I think a lot of people in Kate's life, Jon included and also Jodi and Beth, went through a long period of denial. Or perhaps thinking, oh she'll change, I know she will.
It must be very hard to realize your spouse, or best friend, or sister, or whatever, is not what you hoped for. When they all realized, they realized it like a freight train hit him. But it's human nature to sort of go along go along as long as you can hoping what you are seeing can't possibly be true or as bad as it looks. This is why people stay in toxic situations all the time. Denial.
I don't know what time of day the press junket was on Monday, but it looks to me like Kate had her hair done special. Is it me, or does it look blonder? It also shines and at the yard sale it was dull. I am betting she and the Flying Monkey left PA on Sunday to set up their little love nest.

Me too. Come on. She often gets caught in half truths and implications but this was pretty crystal clear she was implying she was at the homestead yesterday dealing with oh bother dash that silly ole hot water heater.

It doesn't matter if Jon knew about the filming or not because he and TLC are done. They will not show his face. His showing up was about the opportunity to see his kids. They invited him. Glad they can depend on him. Dad follows through on his promises. It's important that his kids know this,.

December, TLC will be airing shows about her back-to-school shopping in September. Then in January of 2015, NBC will
show her galavanting around NYC in March of 2014. Yes,
surely this is the springboard she needs to take show business
by storm.

think about any other kind of employment. Yet she doesn't
seem to do anything to try to hone her skills. And her fans
continue to laud her as a role model.

Yes though I have to wonder when the well runs dry.
She's now done two of the biggest celebrity reality shows, DWTS and CA. It's unlikely she'll be able to do them a second time. What's really left on network TV that takes celebs? She may have to start doing the rounds of the more D-lister shows like the one Jon was on. I wonder if she'll lower herself. I wonder if she's noticed that scripted TV is back, and reality is out. The core shows have stuck around, but gone are the days you could find a reality show on every channel. The ones that were good have lasted, but she's already been on any of the ones that were good. Now what?
This is not like acting, where there will always be roles and parts you could go for, new characters you could become. This is a one trick pony, herself. Reality show is a limited pie, and she's already eaten most of it.

This article states that this was for a press junket that happened in March. It says "But Brandi Glanville and Kate Gosselin certainly brimmed with confidence as they arrived at a press junket for the show in New York City (in March). "
The article was updated today. So I am not sure TFW was in NYC yesterday or if the paper recycled an old story and updated with the air date. The other participants tweeted about the announcement but I can not tell if they were in NYC. Only The Donald was on the Today show.
