«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 400 of 879 Newer› Newest»What was I thinking?? Found some dvr'd old episodes of j&k+8 that aired before the 10th birthday party episode....so I watched the Christmas episode when the tups were 3 1/2. Ugh...first TFW's face has totally morphed. Her 11's were practically indentations. They went caroling to nana Janet's and Carla's and Beth's etc. she referred to them as life long friends!! Lol....where are all if them now TFW? I almost gagged when she talked about her homemade sticky buns from scratch that were "seething in butter!" What the hell does that mean. I have never heard anyone annihilate the English language like she does.
In light if her crawling under a rock with the latest proof of her escapades with rat claws during CA, I find it incredibly sad what a disaster her life has become....all for what??? Her fugly mug on TV and pimping out the kids....so sad

But it doesn't mean it's okay to take someone's car, rape them, or otherwise. Having a serious crime committed against you should not be the punishment for being an idiot. That's hardly fair. No criminal gets to go in court and say but your honor, the car was unlocked!
**********************
Sorry I didn't make myself clear. Of course stealing a car is wrong and the criminal should be punished. It's just that if you are going to do something really idiotic and forget to lock your car in the south end of town, then you shouldn't be surprised if there are consequences to your dumb decision.
Yes, rape is rape, no means no, and no matter what kind of a life the victim has led, the person committing this crime should be punished. Is that a SOL for rape?

I don't think Janice Dickenson is copycatting. She told the story about BC on the Howard Stern show quite a while ago.

You know, I was thinking that today! I was an advid Howard listener before he went Satellite and I swore he had talked about this stuff before! I found myself wondering today what he had to say about all this
It's just that if you are going to do something really idiotic and forget to lock your car in the south end of town, then you shouldn't be surprised if there are consequences to your dumb decision.
&&&
True, you shouldn't be surprised. Still there's a fine line between a victim who should not be surprised and implying that the victim is somehow responsible for what happened to them.
To me, everyone is always responsible for their own negligence, but you are not responsible for the actions of a bad person during that negligence, if that makes sense. To me, that's a huge distinction.
The SOL for rape depends on the state. Sounds like these crimes occurred all over the country. There are also many ways for savvy prosecutors to get around the SOL. Was it the Nevada or CA side of Lake Tahoe? All that matters.
halp?!, you have a very good memory. Yes. We re-located. We retired and downsized and moved 1,100 miles from a big, old, memory-filled home.
It isn't easy. You will agonize and feel all kinds of anxiety. For awhile.
Change can make us bolder. Possessions can become burdens.
Keep only the most important pieces of your past. The new home will give you a sense of freedom. A smaller place will reduce your responsibilities and with that you get extra time. Extra time translates into experiences -- meeting new neighbors, expanding hobbies, and exploring interests you didn't have time for.
Emotional and physical energy is required to get you through the moving and all the changes. Don't let yourself get too tired or over-whelmed.
Focus on the adventure! Congratulate yourself on your ability to start over.
I am sure there are some other regular posters here who will have some great advice.
Good luck!
That's despicable. Not just for these victims but for all victims past and present scared to report because they might be under attack. It's sickening how below board that is. I bet BV would approve.
====
I'm sure he would. It's extortion which BV thrives on.
I was sickened today when I watched the video of Bill Cosby telling the reporter that if he questioned him on these allegations HIS (the AP reporter's) integrity would be compromised. How smug. How absolutely cavalier to think that because this man dare even bring up the subject that HE is the one who's disreputable. BC and BV are likeminded - YOUR reputation is on the line, not mine so shut up and pay up.

Their default position is to attack the messenger, not actually address the message like an adult.
It's amazing this sort of behavior continues to be tolerated from grown adults. We're not going to progress as a society if people keep trying to shut down legitimate discussions about things that are wrong about the world.
It's just that if you are going to do something really idiotic and forget to lock your car in the south end of town, then you shouldn't be surprised if there are consequences to your dumb decision.
==============
I have to disagree with this. It's almost the same as telling a rape victim who may have been dressed seductively that she asked for it.
It's again blaming the victim for causing the crime that was perpetrated against them.
Are you telling me that if I forget to lock my door and my house is robbed that it's all my fault?
Cars gets stolen in the nice part of town, too.
My car was robbed in old town Pasadena, which is a wealthy part of town. They ruffled through all my paperwork in my glove compartment and didn't like what they saw so they didn't take anything. They did however scatter it everywhere once they looked through it.
I left the window down too far, the day was a really hot day and I just forgot to roll it up. It happens. I'm an idiot for leaving the window rolled down too far, but I don't think I deserved to have my private and personal property gone through like that. I really think this is all the same idea, and I have never felt responsible or to blame for what happened. Responsible for leaving the window down, yes. But we should all be able to leave the windows rolled down every day because it's always wrong to violate someone's personal property whether the windows are rolled down or not.
Halp?! -- I forgot to answer you question about your son's school papers.
I have one grown son, too. I saved so much from his past. I kept a few very special (crooked scribble) gifts he made for me. I kept a marvelous piece of lopsided pottery he made and it is in a highly visible location in this new home.
I packed everything else into a tidy (big) box and gave it to him. He and I went through quite a bit of it together. We laughed and remembered.
He will now be the caretaker.

The other danger of this is if people feel this is their fault they might be too embarrassed and chagrined to report it.
What if I were so embarrassed over my "mistake" with the window I didn't call the cops?
But I did call the cops, and they never once made me feel stupid or to blame. They were so nice. I then found out they believed the perps were part of a string of car robberies, as two other cars in the area were also broken into that night and several more the weeks prior. I helped them by reporting it. They did some forensics on my car, etc. It was important they know about it. It was important that I feel comfortable to do so and I be respected as a victim.

Halp, two years ago I went through something similar. My grandmother died and my mom was sole heir but is disabled. My mom had lived with my grandmother but was moving in with me.
So this property that had been in the family for 50 years, that I had grown up in, had to be broken up and sold. I had to pack up my grandmother's house, her attic, her unfinished basement, her 3-car 2-story barn, a storage shed (big enough that someone once lived in it), and the attic of another small house on the property that I had grown up in. If it sounds crazy, it was.
The only way I could cope was to make sure I had time on my side. (I don't know if you do.) I bought plastic blanket boxes by the dozen.
First, I threw out things that were definitely trash.
However, I have a very hard time with memory items as it sounds like you do. I packed things up, even things I knew that I SHOULD throw out, but I gave myself permission to grieve by not throwing everything out at once.
After some time went by, I found that I could go through the blanket boxes and it was easier to get rid of things. I began trying to think of what my kids would want and to see it through their eyes. They would never be able to pick out the true gems from all the crazy stuff. (My mom and grandmother saved a lot so I come by it honestly!)
If I had thrown it all out at once, I would have been traumatized. Be kind to yourself. Give yourself some time if you do have a temporary place to store. And then set goals (one blanket box a week or something like that.) Group the things you do want to keep as you sort--one box for your son's school papers, one for his sports trophies and stuffed animals or something like that. You can say when that box is full, that is plenty to keep of that type of item. Choose his best work of the ones that hold the fondest memories.
Good advice I once read: You can throw out the item but keep the memory! You can take photos of some items before they go if they're really hard to let go of.
It's time to move on to the future--or so I have told myself many times! I'm still working through the boxes. It was A LOT of places to pack. But it gets easier with time for sure as I've healed more. Good luck and best wishes.
We teach our kids to be as safe as they can possibly be. We tell them to call home collect, to never walk alone at night, don't take candy from strangers... etc.

After her attacker was done he simply got up and walked away. There was a nurse in Philly who was recently kidnapped but found alive.

You're welcome, Nancy.
I caught a young kid going through my car one night. I was about to go to bed and looked out the window and saw the overhead light was on and this guy was rummaging through it. I was so mad I screamed at him at the top of my lungs. He heard me and started running. Like an idiot I put the chase on him but he must have been an Olympic runner in training because he lost me in three seconds flat.
I have NO idea what I would have done had I actually caught him. I felt violated and I was angry.
I had neglected to lock my vehicle that night but that didn't give him the right to go into it.

But frankly it's artsy fartsy celebs. They're weird. They do weird things, like having a business meeting in pajamas.
-----------
lol! So how does the weird celeb plan this? Does he call you and say, "Hey, babe. You have talent and I think we could discuss your future. Let's have dinner to talk about job opportunities. Oh, and don't forget to bring your pajamas."
It seems to me that it's kind of like Kate and Steve sharing the hotel room. Even if no hanky panky is going on, there are some things you just don't do. Period. Like finding yourself alone in a room with him in a robe and you in your pajamas, no matter how casual this meeting was supposed to be. I'm certainly no pearl clutcher, but why put yourself in a compromising position?
If Cosby raped these women he should be held accountable, or heck, even prosecuted. There are too many women coming forward with these stories for it to be just rumors or wanting their 15 minutes. I wonder if anything (such as criminal proceedings) will ever come from these allegations.
Nancy @13 - I apologize for getting sidetracked on my actual car story. I did get what you meant with the quotation marks. So very sorry it happened to you.

It's again blaming the victim for causing the crime that was perpetrated against them.
Are you telling me that if I forget to lock my door and my house is robbed that it's all my fault?
I'm not sure to whom you are "speaking, " but I don't think it's like that at all. It's also not like telling someone it is her fault if she is raped if she dresses seductively. I think what the comment here was that if one leaves a car unlocked in a bad part of town, then the owner shouldn't be surprised if that car is stolen. I think that's true. It has nothing to do with the fact that a crime hasn't been committed, or the perp shouldn't be prosecuted, but it's always wise not to put yourself in a situation that you know darn well could have an unhappy ending. You leave your purse, cash and valuables in an unlocked car, so yes, while it's not your fault that a criminal found your car, there is negligence on your part if those things aren't there when you go to retrieve your car.
We had a situation here recently where GPS systems were being taken from cars left unlocked in residents' driveways. Warnings were put out for a particular neighborhood, that a certain area was being targeted. Yet, despite residents being put on alert, night after night there were reports of cars being broken into. If you know that there's a possibility that your car could be included in the latest robberies, and you've heard the warnings, why would you even take the chance and not lock your car and make sure that all valuables be removed? You don't go with the assumption that it could never happen to you because you just might be the next victim..

Admin--I wasn't suggesting that Mr. Rogers engaged in drugging and raping. I guess I would have put Bill Cosby in that category of people, like Fred Rogers, that I thought actually walked the walked, not just talked the talk. It is really hard not to be cynical and suspicious of anyone who promotes a good guy image. But, I do believe that Fred Rogers was the real deal.
I found that upon moving in to a new house, within a few days the car parked in the driveway would be broken into at night. Cops did not come for calls like that. But the last time I noticed they left all my husband's classical music.
I am the one here whose house burned down. The abatement people are still working to determine what all is a total loss. From the sounds of it everything is, except for everything I probably don't want anyway. The includes some of my mom's furniture that I guess I'm saddled with for life, and I hate it, and then the little odds and ends ceramic and glass stuff that could be cleaned, but which I should have pitched a long time ago or sold. I don't get get back any clothes, bedding, linens, pillows, mattresses, anything with a fabric, etc. I wonder what they'll do with the tons of paperwork I had that I didn't know what to do with? Probably give it back to me filthy dirty. Better to just walk cleanly away and call it quits. I started out with my dog and car keys. Nothing else. No purse, ATM cards, money, no lipstick, no comb, no toothbrush, nothing. It's oddly freeing in a way. So good luck with the moving. I still have a place in Sacramento I have to clean up and clean out but won't go until spring. Too cold and bad weather and short days now. Haven't been there in a few years. I heard the frig quit working and whatever was in there caused mold all over so first job is to find somebody to get rid of it and its contents. I had intended to be back in a week when I last set foot in the place a few years ago. Oh well…..

Halp- Sorry what you are going though. When my mom sold our childhood home, she gave each child boxes of their "memories" so that we had a history of our past, including report cards, achievements, pictures, etc... We were all thrilled to have the things she had kept for us for many years.
I have moved several times over the years, and I made a list of what I absolutely could not part with and advised my SO to throw out the rest. That way, I was not feeling guilty over getting rid of stuff, as I was not there to throw stuff away. I never missed it!!
After being in my newest house for 13 years,, we are once again sorting through/purging stuff (hard) BUT do not miss the stuff we throw away at all. Our neighborhood has an Annual Yard Sale, and we start compiling stuff a couple months in advance, asking ourselves, " have we used this in the past 5 years?" We also clean out our closets every couple years, and donate to Good Will. Long process, and emotional some times with personal items, but memories last in your mind and heart, regardless if you "an item" to remember the important things.
Best wishes to you in the purge process and know that you will not miss the things you give away, donate or give away, because your mind and heart stores these memories. Best wishes to you!!

Regarding Bill Cosby's alleged attacks -- if we're talking about a pattern of behavior that spanned decades, it's likely there were lots more victims who didn't speak out. It's Friday morning. By Monday, there could be 15 more people coming forward against him. And
I don't think even the great Marty Singer can put out this inferno
by himself. I think Cosby's response so far has been smug. But
the idea that his legacy may be permanently tarnished might
motivate him to do something different. It will be interesting to
see how it plays out.

Agreed- doesn't make it any less true. But big stars often will bring in attorneys to attack their character/credibility. Nothing new, but the fact that prior lawsuits have been "settled," gives one a reason to question his actions. If one did nothing to the victims, I would not pay them a penny. So many people coming forward makes you think, why would they do this? I get the payoff aspect, but you have to be a very strong person to go and make claims against BC.
I was a fan of his, but not so much anymore. JMO
Halp!
Take pictures of his school projects! You can just create a folder on your computer for all the pics. Also back-up on a disc and hard drive.
Get a binder and keep his best schoolwork.
You can also do a scrapbook of the pics of artwork or projects. If you're not crafty you can upload the pics to shutterfly or a company like that and make a scrapbook or album and they will print it and mail it to you.
You'll have all the memories without the bulk.
A lot of comments on social media about the BC rape accusations are--WHO waits 30 years to speak out...why now...etc.
I may be wrong but are any of the accusers claiming they were raped prior to the 80's? It's so hard for women to come foward NOW, when we are so "enlightened and educated" , I can't imagine being a woman in that period of time being sexually assaulted by a "god" basically. We think we've come so far, but I don't see it. If there's fear, pressure and "slut shaming" going on today, at the time of these incidents the atmosphere had to have been so much worse.
I may be wrong but are any of the accusers claiming they were raped prior to the 80's? It's so hard for women to come foward NOW, when we are so "enlightened and educated"
&&&
One of them occurred in the 60's. She said she compartmentalized it and didn't tell a soul, even her husband.
I'm not sure why some people find this so hard to believe. I think almost everyone has something bad in their past that they just never talk about, or were never able to talk about until years later. But for some reason when it comes to sex abuse if you never talk about it, that makes you not credible? Makes no sense.

And what I think is happening is there's bravery in numbers. You finally feel you're not alone, that this happened to someone else. Why is group therapy so beneficial??

And what I think is happening is there's bravery in numbers. You finally feel you're not alone, that this happened to someone else. Why is group therapy so beneficial??
&&&
Yes I agree. I think a lot of these women must have felt very alone. Finding out that a bunch of other "sisters" went through similar things gave many of them strength to come forward. THAT'S why they're all coming forward, not because a bunch of women all at once decided to make things up to "get" a 77 year old, loved, brilliant man who prior to this brought nothing but joy to those who watched him on TV. This is the last person you would want to try to "get" for no reason.
I want to add to the discussion about (not) reporting.
In 1978 I wrote a paper for a Women's Studies course about the impact of rape on the victims. After much research, I found exactly two (2) articles. One was framed in a psychoanalytic framework about "victimology". It did not present women in a positive way.
The other was a real study by 2 nurses who worked in a Boston hospital. They interviewed a large sample of women who had been raped and published their findings.
Several years later they spoke at my graduate program. Imagine my disappointment when their entire presentation focused on rapists.
Also please remember that a rape victim's sexual history was fair game in court until.relatively recently.
Unlike the U.S., Canada has no statute of limitation for laying sexual assault charges.

An excerpt:
"Why didn’t the women go to the police back then? Why didn’t they come forward sooner? These and other variations on killing the messengers at times dominate online arguments. As usual, they say more about the commenters than the commented-upon, because the answers are fairly obvious. Because he was powerful, adored, and no one would have believed them? Because the drugs they say they were given rendered their memories of the encounters uncertain? Because — and anyone who works with sexual assault victims will back this up — many women bury their shame and trauma down where no one can see it, least of all a justice system that can be profoundly unsympathetic even in cases where the perpetrator isn’t a national icon?
We may never know the truth — not the way we like it, with confessions and justice appropriately served. You may not think it’s fair that Bill Cosby’s persona is taking the hit while the man will probably remain free. But when we judge our celebrities by the amount of public affection they inspire — and that affection colludes in protecting them — the death of reputation and the upending of a legacy may be the cruelest punishment of all. The only remaining question is why we looked away for so long."
After being in my newest house for 13 years,, we are once again sorting through/purging stuff (hard) BUT do not miss the stuff we throw away at all. Our neighborhood has an Annual Yard Sale, and we start compiling stuff a couple months in advance, asking ourselves, " have we used this in the past 5 years?" As I told y'all recently, we had a multi-house yard sale last month or so, and it felt so good to purge.
We mainly donate, but I was happy to do the yard sale with neighbors. I felt like we had strength in numbers and it was actually a gorgeous day, and everyone was pretty successful.
It's hard to part with sentimental things. I still have things of my mom's that I need to revisit whether or not to donate, and believe me, I've winnowed down a lot over the years.
DH and I just grabbed whatever we thought we'd want to keep when we cleaned out her home, filled up our car, and planned to deal with sorting stuff out later.
I have a large plastic tub of her old paperwork. My God, that woman kept everything and was enviously organized!
Sometimes when I'm feeling sentimental, I'll go through her old things. I love the photos of her as a child, and the pics of my young parents when they dated and first married.
Anyway, we need to do more winnowing, that's for sure.
If and when we move one day, I don't want to be sorting through X years of "stuff".
I want to have what we really need and want, and that's all.
You get to a point (hopefully) in life that you really don't need any more "stuff". I need another winter coat like a need a hole in the head!
(and that's AFTER winnowing the coats!)
I also think it's telling that the best Marty Singer can come up with is sharing one of the women's criminal history. This is a top notch barracuda of a defense lawyer, and that's the best he can do?
Great article. I think deniers of things like this, of which there seems to always be a vocal group, has more to do with ego than anything else.
I think some people really can't stand to be wrong, and that they take it personally when they were "wrong" about a lovable affable jello pudding father figure.
The thing is we were all wrong about him. Big deal. People are good at hiding who they really are and we all got fooled. There is no reason to feel insulted by this. It happens.
I really do believe so much of this has to do with simply refusing to admit we were hoodwinked. Same with Kate's defenders. They don't want to admit the mom they supported is a fraud. And when grown adults can't change their minds on things because of ego, that's just sad. Time to grow up.
Also please remember that a rape victim's sexual history was fair game in court until.relatively recently. 47
I also think it's telling that the best Marty Singer can come up with is sharing one of the women's criminal history. This is a top notch barracuda of a defense lawyer, and that's the best he can do? 52
I'll bet he'd "slut shame" her if he could.
Another Duggar type show is coming to tv on UP channel. (never heard of it) The Bates must want in on that money and fame that Dim Bob's family has.
http://www.eonline.com/news/599689/move-over-duggars-meet-the-super-conservative-bates-family-including-their-19-kids
And
I don't think even the great Marty Singer can put out this inferno
by himself. I think Cosby's response so far has been smug. But
the idea that his legacy may be permanently tarnished might
motivate him to do something different. It will be interesting to
see how it plays out.
*****
Smug and haughty.
If Singer continues to paint the alleged victims as "gold diggers" and fame seekers, he risks his client looking like Goliath vs. David.
If true, what we're seeing here is truly frightening. I mean, this isn't just a guy serially raping women. It's a really sick predator!
Cosby was famous, rich, well connected and powerful. He could have bedded any woman he wanted, I'm sure.
There wasn't and still is no shortage of women like that.
But, Cosby chose to prey upon his victims by luring them, drugging them and raping them.
That takes it to a whole other level.
I mentioned the Cosby exhibit at the Smithsonian and wondered if it will be pulled. Today, the WaPo had an article about the scandal, and it addresses the concerns when museums show loaned art from a private entity/person, vs. buying the art to show, thus distancing the museum from the person or entity.
As it is, the Cosby exhibit is highly personalized to and by Cosby himself, so they've really got themselves in a quandary. In showing such "polite society" deference by pretending Cosby's interview within its walls didn't happen, and turning a blind ear to the myriad of women coming out of the woodwork, the Smithsonian risks looking tone deaf because they don't want to ruffle the feathers of a really rich, really famous, really powerful, really connected man.
Cosby's race may also make this quite the proverbial rock and hard place.
I really do believe so much of this has to do with simply refusing to admit we were hoodwinked.
Yes. And this is what molesters and abusers count on.
Their public persona is vastly different than their private self. They're counting on people not believing the victim because they're put out there what a nice person they themselves are. They're masters at hiding their true selves, not giving any clue publicly as to what they're really like.
They're also masters at manipulating....either creating or taking advantage of situations where there is some question about exactly what did happen, as in drugging them so their memories aren't spot on, or selecting a victim who doesn't have anyone in their lives to stand up for them, or a victim whose reputation is a little spotty. Or someone who is needy, and is prime for being groomed.
They deliberately select victims who aren't likely to stand up for themselves or whose history isn't likely to withstand much scrutiny. They seem to have a radar for who isn't going to stand up to them, for whatever reason.
There's an article in today's Washington Post about how over 100,000 people have signed a petition to cancel the Duggar's show. Current total supporting them is 45,000.
I bet they're not going anywhere.
The importance of passwords.

Looks like Bill Cosby's golden platter has turned to canker overnight.
It will happen to TFW. I think CA might just do it. I am a huge fan of CA and the only celebrity who had someone with them was Marlee Matlin, her deaf interpreter. That HAD to cause tension in the room when the group gets together to brainstorm their project, because HE is sitting close by. I wonder if TFM texted her while she was sitting at the table brainstorming with the team and giving her suggestions.
A petition with over 100K signatures is demanding TLC pull the Duggars off the air because of Michelle Duggar's robocall during the election about the LGBT community.

Individuals are capable of fooling people, so you can imagine when it's not just the individual, but their "brand" that is built with vast PR machines.
Cosby's brand is America's Dad, so it's hard to wrap your head around his possible criminal actions and severe psychological issues.
It's hard to believe that he's actually a bad, bad man.
When building and preserving these "celeb's" brands, deep pockets will circle the wagons and protect them so that the money making machine keeps chugging along.
I won't give my 'name' this time. See? Shame. I was date raped in the 80s at a frat party. I felt I could not report it because I had been drinking- not a lot, but a little. I was naive when I was invited to be 'shown something' upstairs.I said NO but was overpowered. Full recollection.I felt I would be upsetting my mother, judged by my friends and seen as a slut. I was kind of treated as 'easy' with remarks from other guys, even though I was a virgin at the time of the assault. Never told anyone till I was engaged, even my first serious boyfriend.Campus police also tended to disregard party incidents .I think I had PTSD a bit from it as I am very jumpy still when touched unexpectedly or kissed in a social setting by a male friend.Feel claustrophobic or scared in normal situations at times.I am very worried my daughter will experience similar as it is so common.
A quote from the Boston Globe article (hyperlink above in someone else's post):
By now, what you think of Bill Cosby probably says more about you than it does about him. In the absence of concrete evidence, we project, and what we project is an amalgam of personal beliefs, biases, judgment calls, and emotional knee-jerks.
And how this relates to TFW....we aren't projecting in our beliefs about her. There is plenty of concrete evidence about her behavior. Just watch her show. Or her interviews. Or her tweets. No projecting necessary at all.
There is no absence of concrete information there. Except for maybe just exactly how did she cheat in that marathon. And who is Gladys, anyway.
But I do think this is where the TFW fans come in...they *are* projecting. They see a wealthy life style for very little work or investment of self. And they think, hey if lightning can strike her, it can strike me, too.
They turn a blind eye to the child abuse/exploitation. They believe TFW when she says she's just like 'all moms'. They refuse to see that they've been hoodwinked.
re: The Duggars...The LGBT community is not one to be trifled with...they have a big network and will continue their campaign against the Duggars, imo. TLC better have the Duggars on their "p's and q's". Every word out of their mouths will be scrutinized.
Mom that just moved-
I recently moved from a 3 bd, 2 story home with a basement full of only one child's keepsakes, toys, books etc. Although we had purged through the years we kept a lot of her stuff. We wanted it for her children, my grandchildren to play with. The last purge we did she was going off to college and I had her actively involved. We could not keep every book but she was able to remember which ones she loved and we kept those. It was a lot. Same with toys. We kept the sturdy ones. The iconic ones. Her tubs of beanies. I have one tub of school stuff, another with awards. It is enough that it fills one closet to the top. Since then I have moved to 3 different states and I do not regret lugging my child's keepsakes around. I know one day I will love getting these things out for her. So if space is an issue, and it is for me to currently, use Rubbermaid boxes all the same size. Purge some but if your heart says keep it, then I hope you do.
Hope that helped.

I doubt she was hitting the bottle. That's an old joke that she probably found on Pinterest when she was searching for platitudes for Kate.
Jokes and platitudes--that's the way she deflects from the story about Kate and Steve.
So Marty Singer says it's now getting "ridiculous." A very carefully
chosen word. The subtext is, if YOU'RE one of those alleged
victims, who has kept this incident under wraps for decades,
if you decide to come out about it now, then you will NOT be
taken seriously. In fact, I'm already labeling you as "ridiculous."
So shut up, and let's leave the count at 15. Or is it 17 now.
Wait, what time is it?
If this man was innocent, I think an intelligent response would be,
"We are taking every single accusation seriously, and know that
our client's innocence will prevail." But to call accusers "ridiculous,"
in my opinion, is ridiculous.
This procuring and then rendering victims unconscious is different, isn't it? This takes power and control to a whole new level. 82
You're right. I was agreeing that it's not about sex, otherwise why not seduce them.
To render someone virtually or actually unconscious is another level. It says something about the rapist, but I'm not going to speculate about the dynamics in a particular person without more information about him.
However, the word control comes to mind.
Kate always tweets to Milo? She hasn't tweeted to Milo in almost a month. Last time was on Oct. 22, when she responded to Milo's tweet about Jon abandoning the kitten.

I'm reconsidering my thoughts on the Duggar's remaining silent and invoking bible quotes in response to erasing images of gay couple on their sites.
After Phil Robertson explained his biblical views on gays, Duck Dynasty was suspended, and has since come back, but severely weakened.
That show was a monolithic juggernaut and became an empire.
It's a mere shadow of what it once was.
The Duggars don't have the courage of their convictions to come out and say what they really think.

It's not paranoid to believe that evil lurkers are just waiting for some personal morsel to pounce on.

It's funny that some of the Twitter non-fans think that Kate is Milo. I have no idea who Milo is...an obsessed fan, a catfish, some old dude sitting in a room in a facility somewhere, but I'd bet my bottom dollar it's not Kate. She's not smart enough to pull this off for so long. Her "style" of tweeting is totally different than what Milo does (Kate would have to practice to be able to do that), and she would not have the attention span to keep this up so long. She would have become bored by all of it. Assuming an identity of an obsessed fan would be too much work for her. Heck, she can't keep her own lies straight, can't keep her blog up to date. She's never be able to catfish as Milo without having been caught.

Apparently no statute of limitations for regular assault charges either. I looked it up recently with regard to the Jian Ghomeshi situation.
For those in the US who haven't heard about that, it is similar to Cosby situation except Ghomeshi is younger, so it hasn't been going on as long, and it seems to be more about plain assault than sexual assault (though apparently beating up and choking women was sexual for him). Lots of women coming forward, some publicly, some anonymously.
Ghomeshi even has a pit bull lawyer. Her most best-known case involved defending a prominent person after he deliberately killed a bicyclist with his car. She went after the dead bicyclist to set up a self-defense plea for her client. He was never charged, but is no longer so prominent.

Yes, Milo is just riffing on an old meme, like the Christmas Rum Cake Recipe that goes around each holiday season:
Best Rum Cake Ever
1 or 2 quarts rum
baking powder
1 C butter
1 tsp soda
1 tsp sugar
lemon juice
2 large eggs
brown sugar
1 C dried fruit
nuts
Before you start, sample the rum to check for quality. Good, isn't it? Now go ahead. Select a large mixing bowl, measuring cup, etc. Check the rum again. It must be just right. To be sure rum is of the highest quality, pour one level cup of rum into a glass and drink it as fast as you can. Repeat. With an electric mixer, beat 1 cup butter in a large fluffy bowl. Add 1 seaspoon of thugar and beat again. Meanwhile, make sure that the rum is of the finest quality--try another cup. Open second quart, if necessary. Add 2 large leggs, 2 cups fried druit and beat till high. If druit gets stuck in beaters, just pry it loose with a drewscriver. Sample the rum again, checking for conscisticity. Next sift 3 cups of pepper or salt (it really doesn't matter which). Sample the rum again. Sift 1/2 pint lemon juice. Fold in chopped butter and strained nuts. Add one babblespoon of brown thugar, or whatever color you can find. Wix mell. Grease oven and turn cake pan to 350 gredees. Now pour whole mess into the coven and ake. Check the rum again, and bo to ged.

Anyone remember Rolf Harris? He was the Australian musician who gained fame from his song Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport.
During the 1960s and 1970s, Harris became a popular television personality in the UK, later presenting shows such as Rolf's Cartoon Club and Animal Hospital. In 2005, he painted an official portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
More from Wikipedia:
In November 2012, Harris's home was searched and he was questioned by the Metropolitan Police on suspicion of historic child sexual offences, and in March 2013 he was arrested. On 29 August 2013, Harris was charged with six counts of indecent assault relating to a girl aged between 15 and 16 from 1980 to 1981, and three counts of indecent assault relating to a girl aged 14 in 1986. He denied all wrongdoing, and his trial began on 6 May 2014. On 30 June 2014, Harris was found guilty of all twelve charges of indecent assault between 1969 and 1986, on four victims aged between 8 and 19 at the time, and in July was sentenced to a total of five years and nine months in prison.[11]
Following his conviction, Harris was stripped of many of the honours which he had been awarded during his career.

Regarding the Duggars: More than just the card carrying LGBT members are in an uproar over their holier than thou attitudes over people's life style. The outlandish accusation that transgender people in restrooms are there to accost children is way out there. Michelle has a sister who is a lesbian and I believe it was Josh who said he would pray for her. He said he loved his aunt but did not agree with the way she has chosen to live her life. Jessa says abortion is no different than the Holocaust, her child husband rants on about Catholics and other heathens, as if they wrote the books on all correct thinking and morals.
Michelle had a blog where she said all moms should nap everyday and have a date night once a week. What mom with one kid let alone 19 has the luxury of a daily nap? Who can afford a babysitter once a week plus the expense of the date itself? If her older daughters were not running that house and rearing those children along with the gramma doing the laundry, I bet she would have stopped at 3 kids.

If her older daughters were not running that house and rearing those children along with the gramma doing the laundry, I bet she would have stopped at 3 kids. 105
And if Katie couldn't have all the hired help she has - based on money her kids made, they'd be with Jon.

Regarding the Duggars: More than just the card carrying LGBT members are in an uproar over their holier than thou attitudes over people's life style. The outlandish accusation that transgender people in restrooms are there to accost children is way out there.
**********
Conflating transgendered people with perverts, pedophiles and predators is exactly what Michelle was attempting to do.
If I had a little girl in a Ladie's Room and a transgendered male to female came in, I'd answer any and all question that my child might have, and I sure as f*ckadoodle wouldn't grab her and run out like my hair was in fire!
Talk about fear mongering.

Wow, I know things were different in the '80's, but where were these parents?
This girl was very young when she apparently rendezvoused with Cosby many times, in different cities.
It's like parents who would let their kids stay at Neverland with Michael Jackson.
I don't care how famous they are- you don't allow children to hang around adults, famous or not.
SB, I have to totally disagree with you and agree with foxy this is NOT just an LGBT thing trying to attack the religious. What Michelle did was blatant fear mongering. She is trying to convince people that to allow transgendered to use the rest room is the same as allowing child molesters to use the restroom. There is no evidence that a transgendered person is any more likely to molest children than someone straight. I have no problem if it makes you uncomfortable to share the restroom with someone but to accuse someone of being a child molester when they are not is outrageous.
Moreover, it's ignorant, since most child molestation doesn't occur by strangers in bathrooms but rather among a close friend or relative of the child's.
By that logic, I should send out a robo call saying no priests should be allowed in men's restrooms because they molest little boys. My hunch is Michelle wouldn't support that.
Seems like the woman who brought the civil suit against BC also sued Marty Singer and the National Enquirer in 2006 for defamation. Singer got the NE to quash one story in exchange for an interview with BC in which he denied the allegations. That also was settled out of court.
http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/nov/21/bill-cosby-lawyers-threaten-sue-national-enquirer-2005-investigation
"In the Enquirer’s ensuing front-page “exclusive”, Cosby, then 67, was allowed to present his rebuttal of the sexual assault allegations that had only just started to . He argued that “words and actions can be misinterpreted by another person,” adding that “I’m not saying that what I did was wrong, but I apologize to my loving wife … These allegations have caused my family great emotional stress.”
He also cast aspersions on the motives of the women who had raised the allegations, saying: “I am not going to give in to people who try to exploit me because of my celebrity status.”
Constand denied that she had ever asked for any money from Cosby and insisted in court documents that her only motivation in raising the alleged sexual assault was to ask the star for an apology. She sued both his legal team and the Enquirer for the suggestion that she was trying to “take advantage” of him, and the lawsuit was settled in 2006 for an undisclosed sum."
Admin, some fundamentalist friends are horrified by catholics since ”they worship idols”, and as a kid I heard that exact phrase from my otherwise nice and reasonable Southern Baptist Sunday School teacher.
Do yeah, Michelle would be perfect four a robocall against catholics. And probably buddhists. And don't forget the Dali lama, he dresses funny! And whoever else that looks and acts different.
I have known people who lived out in the woods for too long and never went more than forty miles from their house. Its easy to be scared by different if all you have ever known is people same as your family and neighbors.
true Joy. I guess what I would say is hey there have been white fundamentalist Christians who have been child molesters. Let's ban all white fundamentalist Christians from bathrooms. What say you Michelle?
I don't quite get the uproar about sharing a bathroom with a transgender person. How would I even know I was?

She probably would because Catholics are evil according to a lot of Christian branches.
And I agree, you are entitled to your religious beliefs, but you don't get to spread lies about a certain segment of society. Are these people for real? Oh, that's right. They must be because they're on TLC. With the realest reality show of them all.
PJ
Shouldn't Jim Boob have been the one who made the robo call, arguing that transgendered woman would see their penises at the urinals?
Women's restrooms are all private stalls.
Do you mean to tell me you should be afraid of a trans. person peeping through the crack?
In the common area, everyone is dressed, and babies are changed in both men's and women's rooms, so.
I cannot thank you all enough for the supportive 'moving' posts. Knowing that some of you have done this, and got thru it relatively unscathed (lol) gives me great hope.
Awesome idea about taking pics of my son's school stuff!!
Thank you. Keep 'em comin'! :)
The part that is so frustrating about the Duggar thing is that generally child molesters are someone already known to the child and/or family. Yes, stranger abduction/molestation happens, but it's not common.
That's why child molestation works so well for the molesters. They're generally someone already known to the child, someone that the family has accepted and implied can be trusted, often someone the parents have accepted as pseudo parent, someone who has partial authority over the child (at least implied authority if not explicit authority), such as a step-parent, older sibling, priest, teacher, long-time family friend. The molester spends months or even years grooming the child to accept inappropriate touch, conversations, etc.
IMO, the people the Duggars should be the most cautious about are the people already in their circle, not strangers in a public bathroom.

You wouldn't be able to see anything but fog in a restroom if Jim Bob was in there spraying tons of Aqua Net on his head.
The reason why Michelle says to mothers to nap every day and a date night every week is because she had Jana, Jill, Jessa to take care of all the younger kids and their older brothers, while Grandma slaved away in the laundry room.
Michelle napped while the older girls tried to put out the fire in Duggarville.

aw, thanks redbird. You are sweet :) It was a long time ago but really does still affect me.
Mel 117. My first encounter with a transgendered person was when I was 17 years old. I went to the ladies room and there were 2 stalls. I bent down a little to see if feet were showing so I would know if a stall was empty. I heard the "stream" when I bent down to look and the toes were facing the wall. Dead give away. When she came out of the stall, she was gorgeous albeit the Adams apple was still there.

I was tied and raped at 16yo by a guy. In the 1970's. He said that if I turned him in he would find a bunch of guys with his same blood type so there would be no proof that it was exactly him that did it. Back then that was all they could go on was blood type and people would have said I asked for it. All I wanted was to feel loved and wanted since no guys ask me out before. I wish more help would have been available back in those days.

Craziness, I am thinking the same thing. I googled to try to find out why she left. I always thought it was weird that on the Apollo Theater Cosby show trailer that he had a 8 x 10 glossy picture in a frame and it he held it up and it dropped down, with that grin on his face.
Did anyone watch Dr. Phil today? It was a 2 part show of a grandfather who had molested his 2 granddaughters and the grandmother let him do it while she was in the same room and claims SHE DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING. She was unbelievably evil and says they are lying.
Dr. Phil asked her a question and she told him smartly, something to the affect of her husband biting Dr. Phil's tongue off. DP seemed to use every ounce of strength he had not to say anything to her. Her husband was convicted and is in jail for over 250 years.
OH! Her friend in the audience, wow. She was taking up for her like Milo does kate. She even got to go up on stage when they came back from the break and she made her look even more like an idiot. You just have to see it to believe it.

I had thought he was a PA native and know he is really involved as a Temple alum. I remember hearing a lot about him when I lived in PA. He did several shows at my college over the years. I went back and read his bio to refresh my memory and boy did he work hard as a child and young man. He played all kinds of different sports, went to a very challenging high school and worked a bunch of side jobs, then played two sports at Temple. His father was also gone for years in the military when he was a little boy. That must have been hard.
I wonder if he's one of those celebs who has this idea that they worked darn hard for where they are and dealt with a lot of hardship, so they "deserve" this all. I think to those who came from nothing, the fame, money and power is so overwhelming that they don't or can't keep it in check.
I feel bad for PA. Another sex scandal with direct ties to the state. He really is a native son.
redbirdsings, my husband was on a jury on a case like that. The grandmother paid the girls not to tell. But they sure did tell, at trial too. Turns out some girl on the jury said 'she could never put anyone in prison' and they had a hung jury. It was awful. My husband took that very hard. Afterward, the attorney told them he had been tried for the same crime before and was awaiting trial for the same thing on another case. The perp finally died. Imagine the granddaughter sitting on the stand, terrified, and he doesn't get convicted.
s one of Cosby's victims this would explain her departure from the show. I wonder if she will come forward.

OMG that's right! I loved her acting on that show. There was supposedly a big dust up between the two of them but it's always been blamed on other things.
God I hope she wasn't yet another victim.
Do you ever have those "I'm getting old" moments?
I just read that Lisa Bonet is just a few years shy of her 50th birthday. Really? The Cosby kids are turning 50??? That show was my childhood.
When she came out of the stall, she was gorgeous albeit the Adams apple was still there.

One of our court interpreters is transgendered. We know because a lot of people knew her before.
She is friendly and beautiful. She is so intelligent. She is one of my favorite interpreters to work with, she's so fast and accurate. I'm sorry that ignorant people like the Duggars want to marginalize people they are afraid of. This woman is working hard every day and providing a wonderful service to low and no income people who are going through a very stressful time. Why would you attack those like her like this? It's just disgusting. She can use my bathroom any time, so there.
IMO, the people the Duggars should be the most cautious about are the people already in their circle, not strangers in a public bathroom.
&&&
Well that's the great irony is that they are missing what's right in front of their faces.
What about the TLC crew? Have they vetted and background checked all those men around their children? Are they SURE their children are safe with them? Have they asked themselves if every man who is so interested in working with their little kids has good intentions? Are they aware that Bill Blankinship was doing work for TLC?
And how this relates to TFW....we aren't projecting in our beliefs about her. There is plenty of concrete evidence about her behavior.
&&&&
Oh my god that article was annoying!!
Projecting? Uh no. Actually, I had really really hoped this was all lies and that this would all be one big misunderstanding.
FYI, I really liked this guy!
FYI, I was wrong.
Why the F would I be projecting? Projecting WHAT? I was WRONG about him.
Actually as suggested I would think it's the opposite. That those who support bad people are projecting. Perhaps projecting their own bad behaviors, their own guilt, their own secret feelings.
I feel bad for PA. Another sex scandal with direct ties to the state. He really is a native son.
&&&&&&&&&&&&&
They are happening right and left here. We had Sandusky, now we are dealing with the big shake-up in Harrisburg, with state attorney general Kane investigating the high-level officials/politicians involved in the exchange of porn e-mails, extremely graphic, with violence against women. Last month, state supreme court justice Seamus McCaffery retired after his fellow justices suspended him amid the disclosure he had he sent or received 234 of the emails.. They are looking into it right now to determine if this was child porn.
One of our local swim coaches was just placed on house arrest for having child porn on his computer, and a former assistant principal has pleaded guilty to institutional sexual assault on a young teenage girl when he worked at the school. It seems that nearly every day there are reports of some kind of sex scandal.
No name this time, I am so sorry. I broke down again.
I watched Dr. Phil's show today and it was very upsetting.
The grandmother, Peggy, knew, but will never admit it.
There are many possible reasons, but really, it doesn't matter.
She'll never admit that her husband molested her granddaughters and she knew the whole time.
I hope the victims can just accept that their grandmother knew all along, but will never admit it, so they have to move past trying to get her to admit it and apologize.
Peggy should be dead to those poor girls.
How in the world do these idiots come up with this stuff? Just pull it from wherever, present it as facts and see if it sticks? Is there proof of this? Are there photos? If not, it never happened.

Here's a really dumb question: Why were these women taking pills from Bill Cosby? You meet someone backstage at a show, and the celeb says, "Here. Have some" and you do and don't even ask what they are?
"Therese Serignese, a nurse in Boca Raton, came forward Thursday with allegations against the star. Serignese claims the 1976 assault happened backstage after a Las Vegas show.
Cosby, she said, gave her two pills that made her feel drugged, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
"After the show she claims she was escorted back to the green room by one of Cosby's people, where she waited around until everyone else had left. Once they were alone together, she says that Cosby held out two white pills and a glass of water, saying, "Here, take these." She did."
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/11/20/therese-serignese-bill-cosby-rape-victim_n_6188270.html
So she continues to have contact with him for 20 years and accepts payments from him. What the heck? You're drugged, raped and then you take money and let him put you up in his penthouse?

Petition to cancel the Duggar's show:
"19 Kids and Counting" follows the lives of fundamentalist Baptist Jim Bob Duggar and his wife Michelle and their children in Tontitown, Ark. So their apparent disdain for gay rights should not be all that surprising. How did this whole controversy start anyway?"
They're Baptist? I thought they were followers of Gothard. Is he Baptist? Their blog says they are Independent Baptists, which as far as I know, is different than fundamental Baptist. I am so confused. What exactly are the Duggars?

OH MY FREAKING HELLO! I loved her on Law and Order: SVU. If she did stand-in on the Cosby show, if he would do that on the set, will Lisa Bonet be next?
Another Bill Cosby Victim, and another!
From TMZ:
Michelle Hurd is a terrific actress who’s appeared as a series regular on “Law & Order SVU,” “90210,” “Gossip Girl,” among other shows. She posted this on Facebook last night. I hesitated to re-post it without her permission, but the story has traveled now. It’s brave of her, like all the other women, to tell the story at all.
Here’s the post:
LOOK, I wasn’t going to say anything, but I can’t believe some of the things i’ve been reading, SO here is MY personal experience:
I did stand-in work on The Cosby show back in the day and YES, Bill Cosby was VERY inappropriate with me. It started innocently, lunch in his dressing room, daily, then onto weird acting exercises were he would move his hands up and down my body, (can’t believe I fell for that) I was instructed to NEVER tell anyone what we did together, (he said other actors would become jealous) and then fortunately, I dodged the ultimate bullet with him when he asked me to come to his house, take a shower so we could blow dry my hair and see what it looked like straightened. At that point my own red flags went off and I told him,
“No, I’ll just come to work tomorrow with my hair straightened”.
I then started to take notice and found another actress, a stand-in as well, and we started talking….. A LOT …. turns out he was doing the same thing to her, almost by the numbers, BUT, she did go to his house and because I will not name her, and it is her story to tell, all I’ll say is she awoke, after being drugged, vomited, and then Cosby told her there’s a cab waiting for you outside.
I have ABSOLUTELY no reason to lie or make up this up!
Anyone that knows me, knows that!
Now you have a first hand account of my experience with Mr. Cosby.
Off you go…

Oh man. Hey that sounds similar to what we've said here about kate.
I wonder if he was a sex addict. His lobido sounds abnormal even for a man. Normal people would be exhausted just trying to hide this all.
Michelle Hurd is another big name upstanding credible victim. They said in the radio today they were hearing from various sources two more bombshells are about to come down. They were expecting at least two more victims.

"Was" a sex addict? If so, and these allegations are true, is that part of his life over, or does he continue to do this?
Speaking of karma I see Katherine heigel is going to be slumming it on network TV soon. She was the feature film darling for about 18 months before she developed such a terrible reputation for being a nasty diva that she couldn't get work anymore. Enjoy network TV!
Here in PA we do seem to hear about another sex scandal every week. So many of them are teachers and students. I have been wondering if maybe victims are starting to believe they can come forward and get someone to listen. I truly hope that is the reason and not that more abuse is happening than ever before.
The original Cosby/Lisa Bonet story was that he was upset she filmed Angel Heart. It had voodoo and killing chickens and nudity (gasp!). This was against his values and it was better for her to have a spinoff show. I have no idea what the truth is but I remember the story.

That tweet from Lisa Bonet it heartbreaking. Let's be real. Something happened with that girl, whether she wants to go public or not. Tragic.
As to BC's lawyer digging up the dubious past of the victims, has it ever occurred to him or anyone else that the reason these women may have a troubled past is due to the trauma they suffered at the hands of his client? I'm not excusing their behaviour, but it may explain it. PTSD anyone?

Exactly. You just can't judge this stuff from our own personal viewpoints.
People do dumb things, and depending on the decade or who you are, like some flighty artsy actor, people do even more dumb things.
People just do dumb things. It's the human condition. Getting caught up in the why is an exercise in futility.

Yes, I think this is a classic Freakenomics problem where you can't get freaked out by what's happening before asking the simple question of whether are there really more sex scandals or are we just REPORTING them more.
I tend to think the answer is the latter. That we have progressed as a society where we are doing a better job telling kids it's okay to tell, telling women it's nothing to be ashamed of, supporting victims who come forward as brave and heroes, and creating a much more friendlier environment, not withstanding jerks like Marty Singer.
If that is what is going on here, that's a good thing. The more a perpetrator sees society as a place where he is bound to be outed, the less likely to offend.
The original Cosby/Lisa Bonet story was that he was upset she filmed Angel Heart. It had voodoo and killing chickens and nudity (gasp!). This was against his values and it was better for her to have a spinoff show. I have no idea what the truth is but I remember the story.
&&&
In hindsight, that really doesn't add up.
Cosby of all people would know that an actor has to take on the projects an actor can get, and that you have to do what you have to do. Very few actors have the luxury of being able to pick and choose projects that align perfectly with every last little one of their values. That's a sure way to have no work in Hollywood. I can't imagine he wouldn't know this an understand this and support her.
Even before this scandal broke the Lisa Bonet departure was literally called a Cosby "mystery." People didn't think it added up even before knowing he's a horn dog. Poor girl.
It is getting worse. BC gave a Quaalude to Joyce Emmons, who ran the comedy clubs in the 70's and 80's, for a bad headache. She didn't know it was a Quaalude. She blacks out and then wakes up the next morning with a man she didn't know.
Cosby is one sick pup. My apologies to puppies.

I had an ex boyfriend who worked on a talk show in the late 80's at
the studio where they taped "Cosby," and the rumor at the time was
that Cosby and Lisa Bonet had a relationship. You might as well
have told me it was Mr. Rogers, because I was gobsmacked. And
I was young and idealistic and just decided to pretend I'd never
heard it. Sigh.
Flimsy, I think that all makes a heck of a lot more sense than the story we've been fed.
Maybe he was in love with her, struck up a relationship, and like the many women before and after her Lisa, who was only like 20 years old, was influenced by his fame, money and power. At some point Lisa met the much more age-appropriate Lenny Kravitz and officially told Cosby to buzz off, and THAT'S what set him over the edge about her. Jealousy, nothing less. Not her stupid movie, not her stupid spin off. All red herrings.
Lisa married Lenny in 1987 at the age of 20, so I'll assume that nothing happened when she was married. If anything took place it was prior to that, when she would have been 17-20. That seems to be BC's target age.

Totally OT: I knew about Irish twins, but not Irish triplets. Irish twins are 2 babies born within a year. Irish triplets are 3 babies born within 3 years. I figured it up, dms and dys missed it by 17 days. Then all of the ds's missed being Irish triplets by FOUR DAYS!
I'm mad, I want a recount! hahaha
I think the fact that some of these women are admitting they allegedly took something he gave them adds to their credibility. They're not
saying, oh, I went to the restroom, and came back and finished my
apple juice, and he must've drugged it! They're admitting their
part in it -- taking a pill someone gave them. Of course it makes
him look bad if it's true, but it also is an admission to some
culpability -- due to naivete or fear or whatever -- on their parts.
Someone just trying to stir up trouble and/or get attention wouldn't
do that, in my opinion.

Exxxxactly. The fact that the stories involve some missteps on the victims parts too makes their stories MORE credible, not less credible. As you said if you were going to make something up, you wouldn't tell a story such that you made some mistakes too.
This is worth watching.

I was thinking how horrible it must be as a woman who has ever been exposed BC to now have the public speculating whether he raped you or not.
Or maybe it isn't horrible. Maybe it's validation that yes indeed this man did something bad to them. Maybe it will enable other victims to step forward, if that's part of the healing for them.
I guess I just feel bad that private, innocent (yes they had a part in it, it seems, but a small part once you consider the drugging) people are being dragged against their will into the public eye.

That's e88888888atly what TFW does. Tow-Truck Gate. Easter Egg Gate...on and on and on. The only thing she will say about a misstep is how she could of gotten even more freebies, gift cards and cash from the fans, community, churches. The World!

"Mr. Cosby does not know the name Tamara Green or Tamara Lucier, and the incident she describes did not happen." Green was one of the Jane Does cited in Constand's lawsuit."
What blows my mind is that he's in denial mode. What's next, is he going to say he has a dissociative identity disorder or he's in the first stages of dimentia? What the hell. He's a sex fiend. Ugh. I can't even look at any photos of him now without gagging.
I know some of you are interested in reading the actual reports instead of the media's summary. Here is the full report on the Sandy Hook shooting, it's 114 pages. I'm about to read it now:

Does anyone remember that girl named Autumn who was extorting Bill Cosby back in the 90s for $40 million saying she would tell the world he was her father if he did not pay? He admitted to an affair with her mother in the late 70s I believe. He is not her bio father by the way, She ended up going to prison for 2 or 3 years for extortion. Cosby did pay her mother $100,000 over the years for some odd reason.
So it appears that he has been a cheater and womanizer all of his life. He is an over achiever and they say over achievers have an insatiable thirst for sexual conquests. Just a thought...not making excuses.because I think he is guilty as all get out.
AuntieAnn (#184), talk about denial -- last night he made a
statement saying he doesn't need to respond to "innuendo."
Innuendo? No, sir, you're being directly accused of rape,
with descriptive accounts from multiple women over
multiple decades. How can that be described as innuendo?
Nothing funny IMO in Kate's tweet. I guess it was those kids' turn to be mentioned I'd almost forgotten about TFW with all this BC talk:
So while I'm making brunch, I'm being entertained by Hannah &Aaden threatening 2 arrest Zorro for 'resisting arrest'.Cracking me up! #What?!
Thanks for the Sandy Hook Report, Admin. I read an article on the high points. Truly sad and tragic.
I don't want to spoil it for people who want to read it so I won't mention them here.
PJ
Admin, thanks, I read it, too. It was interesting but frustrating that nothing was done to change the course of events by intervention rather than accommodation. Two year ago, almost, so tragic.
The Sandyhook report is very thorough and well done, and very sensitive. One of the many little tidbits is the emphasis by both the commission and several of AL's service providers that keeping him isolated at home was NOT a good plan for him. They felt that he needed to learn to cope with the world, go on to college, and not be dependent on and a burden to his parents.
Contrary to Kate's limited worldview, service providers often bend over backwards to help children with special needs to be independent of their parents and be on their own. It's clear that was a major focus for many of the providers. Everyone should read this.
I'm reading the Lanza report too. I always prefer the actual documents to a summary. The Sadusky indictment was powerful

Me too. This is far too dense to summarize in one newspaper article. It has to be read.
It's very clear that he had dozens upon dozens of service providers in his corner, really trying so hard to help him. Even one of Yale's clinics was involved. There were some things that were done well, while other areas the ball was dropped for reasons usually unclear. It also makes you feel for parents who both appear bright, well-intensioned, and loved their son. They both were dedicated to him and helping him with his issues. His mother struggled mightily with all of this, what mother wouldn't. The issue of getting him on medication was a real sticking point for her and him.
There is also a nice email exchange between mother and son where he thanks her for everything she does for him and lets her know he appreciates her. She wrote him a nice email back thanking him for saying that.
It was one of those things where it was obvious he was most comfortable expressing things via email where he had control and could think about it before he spoke. It's doubtful he would be able to express those feelings in a conversation.
Came across this blog about people who have worked or had a run in with BC. The post are 2 years old.

I worked for The Tonight Show during Johnny Carson's reign and when Bill Cosby was a regular Monday Guest host filling in for Johnny.
One particular Monday when Cosby was guest hosting and I wasn't more than 19 years old, I had the ONLY bad experience in my 9 years working on the show.
Cosby, Mr. Playboy Jazz Festival showed up early to listen to the Tonight Show Orchestra rehearse in the late afternoon. As I'm standing by Doc Severinsen's podium, I kiddingly said to Mr Cosby:
Good luck to your Sixers, but i think the Lakers are going to take this one. HE WENT APESHIT ON ME. Here I am a little girl in essence (only girl crew person in my career infancy) and he got right in my face screaming profanities at me pushing his chest out assaulting me while yelling at me! (over a basketball game? Come on!) It got so bad, violent, perverted, mean and frightening my guys from the crew and band members jumped to my defense saying to him is your career worth this, for gods sake she's a little girl! He was so in my face I truly feared he was going to hit me.
Eventually the security took him from the studio until time for his monologue. I've known for 30 years that Bill Cosby is a bully, crazy, untalented, pushy, racist, mean and egocentric asshole! Ill spit on his grave when he dies and that couldn't happen soon enough!

Holy crap. This guy is a NUTJOB.
When somebody shares a bad experience with a celeb maybe they are just telling the truth instead of being a "hater."

Yeah, to say that what these women are coming out with is merely innuendo doesn't even make sense. There is something seriously wrong with him but I guess that's obvious now. If that's the best defense his lawyer can come up with well good luck.
I used to watch The Cosby Show and thought it was a healthy family sit-com, but the last I really paid any attention to BC was when he hosted Kids Say the Darndest Things. He seemed so way off the mark in his banter with them, as if they'd somehow understand an adult sense of humor. He made the show about himself not the kids, so unlike Art Linkletter. Still, I would never have guessed this man would turn out to be a rapist. We've all heard about the notorious casting couch mentality that show business is infamous for but he has taken it to another level.

I know. My sediments exactly. .I really have't been paying too much attention to this because, I guess, I just don't want to believe it. What is the grand total of the women coming out with these claims?

I think there are about 17 meaty stories about rape, sexual harassment or otherwise horrific behaviors.
And there are maybe half a dozen or more of stories about how he was a jerk, creep, I know someone who said he was a jerk and creep, etc.
And this is just people willing to say something.
(Leslie)
Bill Crosby should have been in prison for rape for the past many decades. It is a shame that he is not. Though he is getting it good in the press, FINALLY. I am thrilled that TVland cancelled his old show and the other network cancelled his new show that was in production. And I don't even feel sorry for his wife because you know that she has heard and known about some of this allegations for decades now. She has to know that there is a lot of truth of all of these. And she did nothing about them.
