I like the way the announcer says Kate Goz-land. Makes her sound more like one of those flamboyant mob wives and less like the doofus she is. Goz-land should have been fired because she was the only one on the team to suck at everything about the task, but Keisha refused to ask a sexual predator for money and was let go instead.
Ooo, Times Square time lapses! Commercialism sped up to 10 minutes per second.
Geraldo explains some very basic strategy in this game, in that you need to chip away at people in the boardroom. Well, yes. I mean, sometimes. It depends. Whatever, I'm not here to debate game strategy with that one. Then he says chipping away at him is like chipping away at Mt. Rushmore. Oh, goodness gracious.
Kate and Jamie arrive back in the suite. They dodged a bullet, somebody says. More like an entire magazine of bullets. Geez. I really can't believe the way Kate weaseled her way out of last episode's firing. Truly, Goz-land has the luck of a leprechaun, a horseshoe and a rabbit's foot all smushed together. Dumb luck, mind you. It's not like she knows what she's doing when she manages yet again to skate by. It just sort of happens to her. Like, all the time. Had this Cosby thing come out just a tiny bit earlier, nobody would have questioned Keisha for not calling him and she would still be here and Kate? Toast. But here she is, like a phoenix rising from the ashes, back to live another day. She must be some kind of super grade of plastic that never melts.
Oh, and Kate's crying. Again. She's still upset that Brandi called her lazy last episode. Why that one little slam bothered her so much and all the other negativity about her rolled right off her, can only suggest some sort of extreme overcompensation. It's like she thinks if she just screeches loud enough that she's not lazy and a mom, then it's not true she's lazy. I mean, why not be just as upset that a real chef hated your food? Isn't cooking what half her schtick has been about for years?
Brandi is like fine I didn't mean lazy I meant you didn't hustle. Eh, same thing, and I officially love Brandi. Others are like Kate relax, sheesh.
Kate has eight kids. How could she be lazy? DRINK! Double shots, she got in the single mom thing too. I like her faulty logic, as if once you pop out a kid it's physiologically impossible to ever be lazy again, and how typical the person she commiserates to in a whisper right in front of Brandi is Shawn. Pathetic, and rude. If you didn't like something Brandi said, tell her. But don't wrap Shawn up in your drama. You know she would love nothing more than to recruit her two little minions here against Brandi, regardless what that would mean to the games of those young women.
Because Brandi is good at this game, she smooths things out with Kate, plays it like, I'm a mother too I get it and as a mother I don't know what I was thinking saying that to you, I must have forgotten that once you pop out a kid, it becomes physiologically impossible to ever be lazy again, silly me. Kate calms down, then Brandi turns right around and says in her interview Kate's not a businesswoman and she hasn't a clue what Kate would do for money if she wasn't on our TVs yelling at her kids. Lol! You and this entire blog, Brandi.
Their next task will be to make a commercial for a tech company called Neat. They will focus on the company's cloud service and scanner.
A paperless life is really the thing right now, and I got on board a few years back. One of the best things I ever did for my organization was start using a free program called Evernote. I love it so much I even put it in the sidebar of this blog awhile ago. I can't explain how much better I feel binging and purging my life and digitalizing everything, from finances to photos to fashion. Not only that, but if you use Evernote the way it's designed, you end up saving a ton of time, energy and space.
Just as an example, it's great for organizing your taxes as you go. Every January I make a bunch of different folders for receipts and such and throughout the year scan documents into their respective folders. Once tax season comes around it's all right there, already organized for me ready to go, I just need to input a few numbers and I'm done. Has cut my tax prep time in half.
Neat is "new age," says Trump. Ha, new age? Well I guess it does feel sort of spiritual when you can throw out all your receipts because you've scanned them in and put them in their respective folders.
Oh, good ole George is gonna be one of the advisors this week! Aw, he looks good. This is like seeing an old uncle you haven't seen in years. I can't believe how long this show has been on. I remember the good old days, watching it in college when it was hugely popular. The first time I saw it was when one of my professors invited the entire class over for dinner and to watch it all together. We had so much fun. She thought it had enough educational value to be worth the trouble, which it kind of did back then.
So, project manager selections. The women understand right away this is about technology. Yes, but it's also about a tool that helps with organization, and about making a short film that explains that. I have to admit it is very obvious from my viewing none of the women want the job. Some of them even flat out say so. I think there is some serious game play going on here, in that most of them have decided to avoid PM at all costs no matter what as long as possible. I don't think it's that they're just being real wusses, except for a few of them.
I think if we're being real, the PM should be Leeza. She has the most TV experience of anyone and even if it's a product not up her alley she would have the best idea about what makes a good commercial. But she just won't go for it, acts like this is all about tech stuff and not all about making a short film. I don't believe for a second someone as smart as Leeza doesn't realize this is about conveying a message, whatever the message, through filmmaking, and would be great for her. She knows, she's just sticking to her game plan.
I have to give Kate a tiny bit of credit here for stepping up, though she's loathe to do it. Although it would be kind of stupid for her to crow so much about being so organized then refuse a task that involves organization. Her own mouth screws her over again. Shouldn't have made that household manual, doofus. Smart to let Kate take the job. She's already on the chopping block and it will be incredibly easy to get her fired if she blows this. The women know this, and Kate played right into their hands. And I hate to say it but from Kate's perspective this may not be the worst move. Risky, but that's what this show is about. It's a chance for her to redeem herself instead of always being the one in question for weeks to come. Color me surprised she steps up on task two, though I think she really had no choice. She's apparently not smart enough to realize that everyone else is playing musical chairs while she stands around, and they all got a chair without ever inviting her to join the game in the first place. She's not smart enough to figure out a way to avoid tasks that are tailor made for all the skill sets she's bragged about in the past, nor is she smart enough to figure out a way into the rest of the team's game.
The men are pretty reluctant about this one too. I guess everyone has their assistant do their tweeting and run their lives and nobody feels organized on their own merit. The doughy Jonas brother steps up. Good, if you think you can do a better job than Geraldo let's see it.
Well, I figured out why Jonas brother hates Geraldo so much. Because he's kind of similar to him! He's arrogant but doesn't see himself as arrogant. He thinks he knows what he's talking about when he doesn't. He says he has a leg up over his entire team. Okay, sure. It is kind of funny though that the Jonas brother puts all the people he perceives as duds in the second car back, which is Geraldo, the cute but rather forgettable so far baseball player, the crab fisherman whose only contribution last week was to burn 600 pies, and poor Gilbert. Lol, that wasn't obvious at all, Jonas brother.
Oh Geraldo's onto this little stunt. But but, "I'm Geraldo!" he cries, scandalized. There must be some mistake, I cannot be assigned to car number two. I demand a recount. The best part is, that's not a joke to him.
Jonas already hates all Geraldo's ideas, some of which are not half bad. The crab fisherman can't figure out if Geraldo is serious about these ideas or is just doing it to annoy Jonas brother, he's in the back practically falling over from laughing so hard. I think it's so funny when people's feuds end up just being the butt of the joke to everyone else. People want so badly to "win" their little feuds when really nobody else cares and is just laughing at both of you actually.
The women meet, and Kate is already making excuses, you know setting it up just in case they fail miserably. She says she's not technological, and finds this all "confusing." I mean, I'm a big tech nerd, but I understand not really being into technology. Frankly life would be simper with less technology. But I don't think it's hard to understand this brand. They help you go paperless; at this stage the big picture is more important to understand than the details of how they do that, but I don't get the sense Kate even gets that part of it. She has this look on her face like "computers, technology, the interwebs, I'm lost." I don't care if you want to keep all your receipts in a musty shoebox with a couple mothballs under your bed all year, but surely you can understand the concept of scanning your receipts in and storing them in the cloud. At what point does willful ignorance become stupidity?
Brandi said they quickly realized they have no project manager. Lol, Brandi. Well, they never were going to have a PM in Kate. It doesn't matter if the task is to pop out eight kids then tell the rest of the world for the next ten years you popped out eight kids, they wouldn't have a project manager in Kate.
The Neat executives arrive to meet with the women. It's becoming very clear this is not a hard concept. As explained before, you scan things in and they're saved in the cloud. Kate is making disoriented faces while Leeza takes over the meeting.
Since there has been a bit of debate about whether it was reasonable for Kate to understand what this company does, I decided to do a little experiment and see how long it took me to get up to speed on Neat. I went to the Neat web site, and first tried their "our company" button, which usually breaks things down. Admittedly, it wasn't that helpful, it was vague and salesman-y. It was talking about a lot of irrelevant awards and whatnot that aren't going to help me understand them. But then I went to their "products and services" page, where they have a clean, organized list of all their products and services. I clicked on each one, and they each have a picture and a short paragraph explaining what it is and what it does. They also have another section called "why Neat" that kind of explains the whole big picture as simply as possible with lots of photos. It took me all of about five minutes to feel pretty up to speed about who they are and what they do. I don't know if I understand the technology behind exactly how they do it, fair enough, but I understand what they're trying to accomplish. If Kate or others were still confused at this hour, the PM should have called a time out and had everyone start reading up on them. Fifteen, twenty minutes of research could have saved Kate hours of confusion.
Lol, while Jonas is trying to have a super official and professional meeting with the Neat executives Geraldo is pacing right behind him, talking on his cell loudly about some random thing from his personal life. I heard something about a lawsuit and a contract. I wonder if Marty Singer is on the case. I'm bored with Jonas brother already and I want to know more about what this lawsuit is all about.
You know how when someone loves a word and says it a lot, and then other people around them start picking it up? Ian is now using Ivanka's buzzword "naive" to mean the dozens of things it means, in this case obnoxious. Ian says I know what it looks like Geraldo being "naive" and all, but Geraldo is actually just being strategic here. I guess you could call poking a Jonas brother repeatedly in the tummy because it's turing out to be kind of fun to watch him squirm "strategic." Jonas brother says he thinks Geraldo must fancy himself the center of the universe. He's just thinking this now? Jonas brother is about two and a half episodes behind.
Commercials!
The women. Everyone's throwing out okay ideas for the concept of their commercial. Kate just continues to look confused and either doesn't like any of the ideas or more likely, doesn't understand them. She really does need things explained to her a couple times before she starts to get it. You know, I always knew she wasn't that bright but even I'm surprised how slowly her mind churns and how hard it is for her to grasp the simplest of concepts. It's painful to watch. A show like this is going to expose all your vulnerabilities to the max. Leeza's like, come on already, get it together and pick something.
Finally all the other women are like we like this idea of a disorganized woman and the Neat-ologist comes in and cleans up her life.
Kate says Ummmmm...... then realizes since everybody likes it maybe she should too, and gives the go ahead. Lol, Leeza is already calling herself the defacto PM. She picks out the strongest team member in the room, Brandi, and the two of them sit down and start working out their commercial. The two of them are likely going to make the final four.
Meanwhile Kate's over there with one of her minions, gulping down what looks like a 16 ounce detox drink from the juicer and chit chatting. Tee-hee.
Brandi's just like Kate pretty much sucks at this and Leeza and I are running the show. Cut to more shots of Kate with her minions, stuffing her face and yacking away. Wow, the editors hate her. Haha. Kate's contribution to the cause is to eventually go over to the two masterminds and insist she bring them over some lunch and that they eat while they work so they don't die. Like they need Kate's permission to eat. What's next, hot towels, a little shoulder rub to get their blood flowing and the creativity pouring out? This is so funny, this is really what she thinks a PM does. In fairness, this episode is much more heavily edited than normal so it's possible we're missing a lot of conversations that would give this context, but the way it's edited we never see Kate saying okay now Brandi you do this and Leeza this. It looks more like the two women sort of made eye contact and were like, oh geez. Kate, you stay here, drink your juice, and we'll check back later. Lol.
Leeza and Brandi look like it would just be better if Kate just goes away and leaves them alone and lets them get this done. "Have a lollipop and get the bleep to work," Brandi quips. Hahahhaha, if only she knew.
Over at Team Doogie Howser, Jonas brother has Lorenzo as director, Ian as producer, and Gilbert as the star. That seems like appropriate roles for their skills. Geraldo will be the writer, and turns out the script he's coming up with is at least making Ian laugh. So far on this show, the men always look so much more organized and efficient and the women more like bees around a hive. Kind of embarrassing.
Back at the women's team, Kate is still interrupting the real PMs wanting them to make the final call on things, etc. Brandi's just like gaaa leave me alone just let us do it!
Kate is like look I need to see the vision to be able to function. That's great, the PM is asking Brandi to hand her over the vision of this project. Brandi is just a hoot. She's like ok here's the vision, sweetheart: here's the desk, and here's the chair. Get it now? Lol. But seriously, Brandi must be sooo frustrated with this doofus.
Brandi throws in there that she's doing all the work and all Kate's been doing is stuffing her face. What! I didn't! Kate cries. Oh, but it's on film, including a fresh squeezed juice, a coffee and a sandwich, so. "Don't default to drama!" Kate scolds. Of course she tells the cameras that the problem on the team is Brandi, who is buckling under the pressure. Yes, yes, Kate, Brandi's the problem, she's buckling like a belt, now go away and let her work.
They begin filming the commercial, and Leeza's doing all of that of course. Kate trolls around nearby scrutinizing the scene like she knows what she's doing and making useless comments like, "you guys rolling?" Leeza is flat out ignoring Mrs. DeMille, or shall I say Mrs. DeMaladroit, like she's not even there. The whole crew is ignoring her really. Even one of the minions Shawn was impressed with how well Leeza took over, directed the crew, etc. Well of course. She's a legend who has been in front of cameras and on sets every day since she was 25 years old. Eventually Malcolm Gladwell's 10,000 hours rule works out for people. I hope Shawn gets a clue she's aligned with the wrong woman soon.
Leeza really should have been PM, she could have easily smoked the boys and been the hero, but since there's no way she's "scared" of it, there's not a bone in that woman's body that would be intimidated by this silly game, I really have to assume her game play means insisting on avoiding PM no matter what, even if you'd be great at it. Be careful, because Trump may get annoyed with that after awhile.
Over at the men's things are plugging along. Lorenzo's absolutely great at directing, and continues to be his usual sexy self. Crab fisherman has a friend from some other Discovery show that does voice overs and he quickly lines him up to be a part of their commercial. The men are all excited about that, except Geraldo, who somehow thinks this is a conspiracy on the level of the JFK assassination cooked up against him. Jonas brother and Geraldo commence some big stupid fight over something, probably about whose manhood is the biggest, and bless his heart, Lorenzo pulls Geraldo away from the situation and strokes his ego by offering him the part of voiceover understudy. He does one of those man-to-man grips of his back that men do, and Geraldo returns the favor by brushing him off snapping at him not to touch him. What the hell? For the first time, I think Geraldo is kind of crazy. Like really certifiably off. Lorenzo's just trying to help, he was being nice. I'm so annoyed there is a nutjob bigger than Kate on this show. Wow, Lorenzo says in his 30 years on sets this is the most egotistical behavior he's ever seen. Even worse than the set of Bro, What Happened?? That's saying a lot.
The men hit the editing bay. The Discovery voiceover does sound professional, I think that was a good choice. Geraldo thinks their cut of a commercial needs a graphic on one of the shots. I'm not sure what he's talking about, but if he's talking about branding, generally the more branding you can do the better. Because Jonas brother loathes him, he refuses to listen.
The women are in the editing bay, and since food was an issue, I note that there are big bagels and cream cheese, waters and coffee all around. From the bits and pieces I've seen of their commercial it looks like one of those late night cheesy things you find on stations like Hallmark, where they always exaggerate the problem, which often isn't even really enough of an inconvenience to call a "problem" in the first place. Eggs sticking to your pan ruining your life? Coat always falls off its coat hanger make you want to stab yourself in the stomach and die a slow painful death? We have the answer!
Leeza is running the whole show, naturally. Kate's mad that Kenya is just showing up to the task now, but Trump earlier excused her because she has a career and had a prior commitment. He said it was fine, so, too bad. Leeza's all like, without me we wouldn't even have had a commercial. Well, you and Brandi, yes that's probably true. That's a little different than one of the sheeple saying without Kate there would be no pies last task. Well no, somebody else would have baked the pies. Without Leeza and Brandi, however, nobody else seems to even know how to switch their iPhone photo app over to video let alone be capable of putting together a real commercial.
They're about to show the executives their commercial. Of course Leeza is presenting not the actual PM. But in this case I don't care who the PM is, Leeza is the only one who has any business presenting.
I don't know about the women's commercial. It's pretty simple. A disorganized woman and a cluttered desk, and Vivica acting like a sexy fairy who cleans it all up for her. They say Neat scanners and smartphones will help with this, but they don't explain much about how. I think they should have at least shown the woman using the scanner. Vivica thinks the executives liked it because one smiled.
The men's commercial is still vague like the women's, but I think they did a better job highlighting the tasks Neat can do, like keeping track of business cards or emails. I actually liked their commercial a little better simply because it at least tried to explain the product's uses. Still, I think both commercials missed the boat on really explaining how the product will turn your stack of messy papers into something paperless and useful. Paperless will change your life, but unless you explain how it does that nobody will want to get on board. Jonas brother feels they nailed it because one of the executives nodded.
The Boardroom already? A lot of viewers are saying these episodes feel very rushed, and I agree. They used to be two hours, but now they are one. Two hours was maybe too much and allowed for long, sometimes painful stretches of silly drama the first hour and a lot of squabbling in the boardroom that went nowhere, but one hour feels like you're getting whiplash bouncing back and forth from the men to women. An hour and a half might be just right. The NBC show that I thought was ridiculous to stretch out into two hours was The Biggest Loser. It's an okay show but nobody needs to see people weigh in on the scales for 45 minutes. Absurd. TV should be better than that, even reality T.V.
Geraldo is his usual smooth talking self in the boardroom, flattering Jonas brother as a fine young man and leader, and his criticisms are real softball and vague. This man is crazy, but he knows darn what he's doing in this game. To his credit, Jonas brother refuses to throw anyone under the bus either just yet, insisting he won't go in that direction. I do like how the men are supportive of each other, who can truly just turn it off and leave all their drama at the door when they need to, which is generally something men are so much better at than women. Jonas loves Gilbert, says he's a hard worker no ego who does whatever you ask of him. I do get the sense Gilbert has no ego, which is refreshing. If anything he's mostly self deprecating.
Aw, I'm proud of Gilbert and so is Trump. Without missing a beat, Gilbert says, "Thank you, Mein Fuhrer." Hehe! Ha, I like that they cut to a closeup of Kate when he says that. Heil Krieder! Lol, who did she piss off in the editing bay?
Clearly we won, says Geraldo, which is almost always what you should say in the boardroom.
Kate on the other hand is a doofus who hesitates to say they won. Her coach told her to tell Trump they met all the criteria of this task, which she says twice in case you didn't hear her/Steve the first time. Of course she doesn't like Brandi, who along with Leeza did everything on this task.
Brandi is like I was panicking because (Kate Goz-land was our PM!!!! and) we didn't have anything done. People, somebody had to panic!
Don Jr. said the executives generally liked the women's commercial, but their target market was too narrow with just women, when this product is for a variety of people. I didn't notice that, but good point. And I didn't see anyone asking the executives in the meeting the important question of who their target market was, although it was very heavily edited. George says they generally liked the men's commercial too, but that the commercial didn't include enough about their cloud service. Oh, no. I've seen this show enough to know any time you don't cover a topic you were specifically asked to cover in your commercial, you're done for. In that sense doofus over there is right, the women met the criteria. And even though their commercial was vague, hyperbolic, amateur, weirdly sexy, and missed their target market, they did mention both the scanner and the cloud. That will be enough to win.
The executives think both teams did well. By the way executives do not hesitate to say when one team missed the mark, so it's not like they're just being nice. But sure enough, the women win it. BOOM, Kate's ego explodes!!! She seems to be looking upward to her heavenly Father for thanks. Must be awhile since she checked in up there, might want to dust off the cobwebs. I would say God probably did answer her prayers to please win her task making a commercial about scanners for a reality show on NBC: He sent Leeza and Brandi.
Kate's practically shaking she's so overwhelmed, lol, what a teenager. She will get 40 grand for her charity, which is Camp Barnabas, and she memorized her script from Steve explaining it's a camp for handicapped children. I mean, not to be nitpick, but Steve, most people would prefer you not say handicapped anymore. It's a word that focuses on disabilities instead of abilities. Whatever, it's a good charity. Brandi knew it, she knew they would win! Once she and Leeza took over, yep. Congratulations, Kate, you won a battle of wills with a Jonas brother, which is slightly more admirable than winning a battle of wills with a 3-year-old.
Holy crap, Kate says again back in the suite. I don't think I mentioned it but that's her new favorite catch phrase, she says it all the time. Jamie gets them to all hold hands and just have a moment of gratitude about this. That sort of touchy-feely exercise is such a peace and love snowboarding culture thing that I quite like about it. I like her but I wish she would stay away from Kate.
Time to watch the men in the boardroom! I'll get through this quick because Kate's sitting this one out.
Jonas brother still hates Geraldo, but this backfires on him because they think the problem is not so much Geraldo but that Jonas didn't do a good job managing Geraldo. Oh, and as part of my inventory of the food in this episode since Kate got so pissy about that on twitter, there are at least four heaping platters of lovely finger foods and champagne and wine all around. The ladies are chowing down. It's anything but mile 1,980 of the Pacific Crest Trail. The women all advise Jonas not to put himself up against Geraldo, which they're right that's really stretching your luck. I like how anything the women say Kate always nods wildly in agreement. I mean, I guess it's wise to just go along with them, but an independent thought now and again would be nice, and less bobble heading all the time.
Donald is orange.
Speaking of colored judgment! Ian and Geraldo as the two guys he is bringing back? You're kidding. Oh god this kid is a royal idiot.
The women are freaking out just like I am. I hate this but Kate is right, he's trying to force Trump to fire Geraldo by going all kamikaze and putting two strong players up against him. She finally figured something out. And suddenly I get the title of this episode. Jonas brother thinks he's outthinking the Trump and forcing his hand on something. Except Jonas brother made an incredibly arrogant mistake in assuming Jonas brother is a strong player too. Dumbass. Jonas brother is done. Also I think it's utter bullshit (darn, and I vowed not to curse in these recaps!) that he is putting Ian's game and charity on the line just to try to manipulate the situation. My boyfriend works hard and thus far has never made a mistake. My boyfriend is incredibly mature and gracious about this complete and utter bullshit. Good grief, what an idiot. See ya, get outta here.
And it happens, this was inevitable from the moment he picked Ian. Jonas brother, you're fired! Good riddance, I didn't like you.
They head back to the suites, and I think Ian is embarrassed that Jonas brother just used him like that, because he picks a fight with Geraldo when the two teams should be celebrating for the two who made it through. He thinks Geraldo made a mistake not listening to the new bloods and that this is a team thing. I think young people can have good ideas sure, but just like there are old people who are idiots there are young people who are idiots, and Kevin Jonas was a young idiot.
We speed right into the second hour and the teams are all lined up in some big lobby, inside this time thank goodness which will make Gilbert happy. Their task is to create a bistro that highlights a company called Luvo. These episodes are really suffering from the heavy editing at this point, because they don't really explain much about what Luvo is. I don't usually buy frozen meals, but I understand it's something like an upscale Stouffers maybe. In any case this sounds fun! It's a good thing Kate just put herself on the line last episode as PM, because a food challenge is up her alley yet again and she'd probably get stuck with this. In hindsight going as PM that week was a great move because with things as tense as they were between Geraldo and Jonas brother, it was inevitable it would bleed into their task and affect their performance regardless if a blind and deaf duck was PM of the ladies. Can you believe she won because of some other problem that had absolutely nothing to do with her, it's just amazing. Like I said, she's like a walking box of Lucky Charms. The stars all align perfectly every single time and she just whisks on through without a scratch.
Once again almost everyone is reluctant to go for PM, on both teams. I don't remember ever seeing this much reluctance before. Vivica and Terrell step up.
This product looks like the sort of stuff yuppies buy in Whole Foods for 8.99 a pop and then later feel obligated to declare it tastes good and they're not an idiot for forking over that kind of money for cardboard. The ladies are the worst. They're all talking at once about ideas, and most of the ideas are mediocre.
Finally Leeza is the one who, yet again, has to pretty much come up with the theme for their bistro, but somehow Vivica makes it seem like it was all her idea. As entertainment they're going to do sort of different scenes, like a coach and athlete. A lot of them have parts, but not Kate, who is completely left out of that and barely says a thing this whole time.
Why is Geraldo making fun of my boyfriend? Geraldo is still being disruptive and kind of a dick to everyone, which I don't understand since his nemesis is gone now and he has no one left actively trying to sabotage him. Terrell's strategy to handle Geraldo is to just cut him loose let him fly no speed limits no traffic lights. That's fine, it's not like he can be stopped anyway. Plus Terrell is not smart enough to know how to handle him even if he wanted to.
Ohhhh, time-lapse mixed in with slow motion. Now it's getting creative.
The women are in the car. Kate is being oh so helpful on this project by calling some mystery person and letting them know that Vivica's phone is not working so if they need to reach Vivica call any of the other phones. Lol.
Shawn is PMSing, she's having a bad period. See the thing is, one of my good friends has endometriosis, and she says it can be really horrific at times. At the same time, she still went to class when we were in college together and she still goes to work today and she just gets on with life. Color me rather surprised Shawn, who had the drive of an Olympian at one time, could be sidelined by Aunt Flo, even a grumpy version of her. Shawn's eyelashes look like the kind of plastic things you paste on baby dolls.
Wow, Vivica doesn't have the slightest sympathy for this stuff. She's basically like, NOTED! Get a pain pill and move on! Ha.
The men are tasting their dishes and Gilbert is puttering around being funny by putting ceramic bowls on his head. Kate and her minion Shawn head out to get props while the rest of the women taste the food. I think it's funny that a woman who is actually a cookbook author isn't allowed to taste test. After that taco-enchilada disaster, that's wise. I like Vivica already.
Kate and her minion are in some kind of Crate and Barrel type store wandering around touching everything turning things over like they're creating a wedding registry together. Kate wants to know if Shawn likes these dishes or those ones. Haha, Shawn's expression is just like that of your fiancé's when you did this together. Like, I don't see the difference? Whatever you want, babe?
The men are all supposed to be writing their own scripts for their dishes but somehow Gilbert missed that memo. He's just standing over there kind of cringing like he always does. Terrell's like hello there, you with us? Don't forget to write your script! Poor Gilbert.
Ha, Ian is hoping to God whatever Gilbert finally comes up with when he has to present is funny and suitable for the crowd.
Vivica calls Kate, wanting to know where the hell she is. I like Vivica's style, she cuts straight to the chase. We're running out of time, you two need to be here at 5:45. Got it? Kate replies, okay no worries see you at 6:45. Lol. Kate's doing that confused expression again like she's not understanding what Vivica is saying. Vivica....wants....you.....to....haul.....ass.....back. Get....it? This is the only time Vivica sort of lost it, Vivica explains.
These editors! As Kate promises Vivica up and down she and her minion are not wasting a second, they cut to a shot of the two of those dodo birds just sort of staring mindlessly at their phones, probably tweeting Milo and such, kicking back in the car. Haha.
The men rehearse their scripts. I have to say the men are all trying their best to help poor Gilbert, who still seems dazed by this task. I think Gilbert is just an improv guy, he doesn't even seem to understand the concept of a script. He doesn't operate in a way that's too rehearsed, that's not what improv is. Geraldo gives him ideas for talking about his kids somehow, maybe how they bug him for icecream but he gives them this? Gilbert says the sensible thing, it's all well and good you want me to talk about my kids but I don't understand, they've never tried this product! Well, he has a good point, lol.
Kate and her minion finally get back to the ladies with a motherload of crap.
It's great to have a lot of nice props but they are useless to you if you don't have time to unpack them all and get them all set up. The ladies are running around like crazy trying to get these props all sorted. Vivica correctly blames this mad dash all on Kate and Shawn, who spent six hours shopping. Six hours!!! What?! Some of this stuff seems silly, too. Really, a cutting board in the shape of the heart? Meh. That's so Kate, too. At almost 40 years old the extent of her creativity when it comes to being "cute" is buying things in the shape of hearts. Vivica's first mistake was to give Kate a card attached to someone else's account. Oh crap, Kenya says they didn't have time to rehearse. That's bad. Good job, Kate, the big f-up on the task once again is thanks to you.
It's time for the men's presentation, and it goes pretty smooth. Creamy and delicious please, Lorenzo Lamas. The men have a lot of beautiful props too but I guess the shopping fairies got it for them. Either that or their shopping trip was just a normal shopping trip, super boring and without drama. Why didn't Terrell send Gilbert out shopping?
Everything is going great until Gilbert gets up there. He's making sex jokes while the executives are trying to eat icecream pops. Ew. Why does Gilbert have to talk anyway? If it wasn't working out, Terrell should have put him on some other duty, anything but public speaking. I don't think Gilbert was feeling this product, and as any comedian will say, it really helps to believe what you're talking about to be funny.
Leeza's presenting again, which I have absolutely no problem with. As far as I'm concerned they'd be idiots not to have Leeza presenting each and every time a presenter is called for until Leeza is sent home or wins. Their slogan is Luvo, love yourself one bite at a time. Ew, why does it feel like almost every thing these teams do comes with some kind of weird sexual innuendo?
I'm not really understanding the little skits the women are doing but they are introducing the food okay.
Back in the kitchen, Shawn screwed up the timing of micorwaving the food. Wow, Shawn is a real dud. I think this is the first time I've seen an Olympian perform this terribly on a reality show. Poor Vivica has to go out there and awkwardly work the crowd while the food cooks. I am without a shadow of a doubt convinced that the editors hate Kate. It's not my imagination. As Vivica explains how much the girls back in the kitchen are screwing up the orders, not knowing what is going out, messing up the timing, and are overall befuddled, the camera holds right on Kate's face, looking like a dolt. Lol.
None of this kitchen stuff was shown for the men. It almost feels like two different tasks the way we never saw them shop or cook. Kenya's over it, she snaps a tray away from Jamie and says some snide remark to her that's not important to the story. Jamie's mad.
Kenya's like whatever, sorry.
Jamie won't accept her apology which wasn't sincere. I don't mind that. An apology should be sincere to be accepted, and it's nice to see Jamie has a line you best not cross with her. What's up with Kenya anyway? Haven't you seen Oprah, Jamie demands? Lol, what? Whatever, she's sweet. I like that Kenya thought she could push Jamie around for whatever her reasons, but Jamie wouldn't let her. Finally.
I already know the outcome from reading the comments, but based on this I cannot believe the women won this. They screwed up so much and their whole presentation was silly. It seems like the only really big faux pas for the men was Gilbert crashing, but I would think that one thing could be forgiven for all these mistakes by the women.
All right, let's hit the final boardroom of the night. I'm exhausted and I don't even have eight kids.
Terrell feels they won because they met the criteria. Has Steve been moonlighting coaching this dud too? That feels like a conflict of interest.
Trump asks Vivica if she would like to replace a teammate with Geraldo. Oh, a twist! And this is not necessarily a hypothetical, Trump will freaking do it if he feels the calling. Please pick Kate please pick Kate. Even the editors are rooting with us, as they cut to a close up of none other than KATE. Lol. But alas Vivica picks Shawn. That's okay, Shawn freaking sucks. I don't think she looks that healthy either for an ex-Olympian. This is complete speculation on my part, but I wonder if she's going through a rough transition period where you are too old to compete anymore, and as every year passes less and less people remember you. From what I've heard time and time again, this is an incredibly difficult transition for someone who made it that far up the athletic food chain. It wouldn't be unusual to feel sort of checked out about life. Heck, maybe it embarrasses her a bit this is the only show really left for her. I can't believe Vivica told Trump about Shawn's period problems, lol. That's like against the women's code or something. Kate defends her minion because she only has these two minions and this cannot be happening, she cannot lose Shawn. Vivica gives a specific example of Shawn checking out and Kenya jumps in too.
I think it's easy to say that a period should not take you down if you have never had a particularly horrific period. My gut reaction is to say a period should not take you down, and that seems to be the gut reaction of the women's team. But a part of me says to keep an open mind, because all our bodies are different and our cycles are all our unique cycles. I guess at the end of the day I feel like if Shawn was healthy enough to be on her feet shopping for six hours, then she was healthy enough not to complain about her period. If she needs to be in bed or at the doctor's office, then maybe it should be a problem that would excuse her.
Jamie calls out Kenya as rude and mean, and I'm proud of her for standing up for herself finally in the board room. Kenya misuses the word "quip" to mean "snapped." Dummy.
The executives loved Leeza of course, she is a legend after all, and the message was good, but they sucked at execution. As far as the men, they liked the pacing and the personality in their presentations. But their slogans were off and as expected they thought Gilbert was terrible. This feels like closer to a draw with both having strengths and weaknesses but they arbitrarily pick the women to win.
Unlike Kate who described her charity as handicapped children, Vivica describes her charity as children with special needs.
Oh, wow, I'm not at all surprised Shawn is pissed as all get out that Vivica told Trump about her period problems. On the one hand, you don't ever do that. On the other hand, Shawn shouldn't have told the women about this, and the cameras, if she didn't want it spread around. You told four million people, Shawn.
Gilbert doesn't seem to understand why an off color joke didn't work here. I totally get where he is coming from, a comedian can't be getting their panties in a wad paranoid about offending people or they will never get up there. But then it's not going to work on a task like this. This thing was just all wrong for his style. He's in trouble.
The executives didn't like the men's slogan at all. Eh, slogans after awhile all start sounding the same to me, Gilbert says. That's true pretty much.
For sort of being on the sidelines all the time, the crab fisherman never seems to be on the chopping block. No one ever talks about him. Well, at least Terrell gets credit for picking exactly who he should, Geraldo, who is still being a disruptive ass, and Gilbert, whose humor didn't fly. The worst boardroom mistake you can make on this show is bringing back the wrong folks. What, is Geraldo going to go into all these boardrooms? That's just going to make him cockier every time he makes it out.
Trump says even if Terrell goes he has done a great job. Really? On the first task he raised only $750 and what's more lied about it, and after that his team lost the next two tasks. Okay then. Trump slobbers over the oddest contestants.
Well talk about doing some armchair psychology here. Geraldo says his whole life has been a competition. I find that a bizarre and unhealthy outlook on life. If you see life as one big competition (incidentally, much in the way I believe Kate sees life) no wonder you're so paranoid, obsessive, and driven to a fault. No wonder you are, dare I speculate, ultimately unhappy. How can being in an endless game of you versus the world make you happy? You need a rest now and again, and collaboration with others.
Maybe consider life less of a competition or fixed pie and more of a un-fixed pie where there are plenty of endless slices to go around. Every time you reach for a slice there's another to replace it. An endless conveyor belt of chocolates free for the taking just like for Lucy and Ethel, as long as you're willing to try to work for it and gather what you can. Watch how it changes your whole attitude. I think we should drink every time Geraldo name drops the dangerous places he has been.
Geraldo has more issues than can be worked out in one little recap. We'll have to save that for another time. At the end of the day Gilbert's mistake was just too much for Trump and he lets him go. Gilbert, you're fired. Aw, goodbye Gilbert. I will probably never like your style of humor but you have proven yourself to be a nice guy with a good heart, not overly smart but certainly not stupid by any means like most of the rest of these dumb clucks, a people pleaser with absolutely no ego, and not an unkind bone in your body, which I did not know but for this show. Which is a big reason why this show is great and deserves a bit more credit than it sometimes gets. See you next time.

THANK YOU ADMIN! A stellar recap as usual! The camera operators and editors really, really dislike TFMJG. I must catch new episodes of The Soup, Joel McHale will have lots of fun with clips from CA!
I won't watch a show I never watch just to see TFW. However, I really am enjoying the re-caps. It's nice to hear that real celebs have TFWs number. I know that the people on this blog have had TFWs number for a long time. Thats why I came here years ago. Many funny responses make me LOL.
Anyone know if the rumor that TFW gets fired 8th is true? It would be a little telling if she is indeed the 8th person fired.
Was it a housewife who said She does not know how Kate makes money without being on tv screaming at her kids? Best line ever!

Great recap, Admin. It was cleverly written and entertaining.
I looked at Camp Barnabas website and noticed that it is a christian ministry. In fact the volunteers who directly help/work with the visiting children are called missionaries. Though in real life they are just regular folks like you and me.
We know from Kate's family and school background and her diary that she was brought up and believes (in her diary at least) in evangelizing. I find it interesting that Kate never mentioned in the boardroom that her charity is a christian one. She went to a evangelical school for 12 years if I am not mistaken. If she believes what she wrote then this would have been a great opportunity to just say the word christian camp when describing her charity. Frankly I think she purposely choose NOT to describe it that way. I doubt she wants people to know she is a born again christian. After All she has gone Hollywood and that is not some they speak of.
Excellent recap! I can't for the life of me understand how everyone can see that Kate is completely in over head and she thinks she is some kind of CA mastermind. Trust me, when Trump fires her "lazy" ass it will be brutal.
(Leslie)
I am shocked! I just watched the second episode (NEAT) again and everything is just so much more revealing than the first time. First of all, when Kate and Jamie walked thru the door after escaping being fired from the first task, Kate is literally hanging her head in shame. I have NEVER seen any other person in any other season do this. Kate looks like she knows she should have been fired and is embarrassed to walk through the door and face the others. Then as Admin. pointed out, Kate turns to Jamie and talks loudly in front of ALL the contestants that she is appalled that Brandi called her lazy. Kate fully knew the whole room could hear her and they did. Such high school tactics that Kate used. She should have walked up to Brandi and addressed the issue directly with her.
Kate was so stupid for accepting to be PM this task when she had zero clue what it was about. She did not have to do this. Someone else would have stepped forward. Kate said she wanted to play smart. Well this was a very stupid move on her part..totally foolish. And man oh man editing was so strong to point out how 100% clueless and foolish Kate was in this task. Again, I have NEVER seen in any other episode in any other season a PM totally clueless and ineffective. Kate's facial expressions of being totally lost were many. She didn't even TRY to act professional. She acted like a kid instead of a leader asking them if they were confused and making many exaggerated facial expressions of being so baffled and lost. And the nerve of her to say to Brandi and the boardroom that Brandi hindered the task when in fact Brandi did a hell of a lot more than Kate did.
And then when they were about to step up to the platform for Leeza to present Kate says in an interview as PM that she is nervous because "at the end of the day we just missed the mark". WOW! No PM has ever said that. All PM's say they did a great job. By the way that was the only interview as a PM that Kate gave..".that they missed the mark". The team she lead and was in charge of missed the mark. Then when asked by Trump she implies it again when asked how they did. Has Kate watched any past episodes of CA? If she did she would know that you always says that you think your team won. Again, she is the only one that I can recall that was so unsure of her team's win in the boardroom. So is so stupid it is unreal. Really, I am not just saying that because I don't like her. She really failed so badly in this whole task like no other person has in the CA history. I really mean that. And Leeza had such class to hug and congratulate Kate in the boardroom.
Finally, Admin. you are so right that editing has her number. They really highlighted Kate's ineptness and her drinking and eating with her co-horts as Brandi and Leeza worked hard.
If anyone has the time I really encourage you to watch again on youtube. It is so much more enlightening the second time around.
(Leslie)
In the boardroom Kate said they send mentally and physically handicapped kids to camp otherwise they don't have a place to go. It is all hear." WFT! I am speechless."Otherwise they don't have a place to go". Are they homeless? And handicap is a big no, no in this day in age. The word appears NO WHERE on their entire website. And what does "it is all heart mean"? WTF? AGAIN! She can't even describe her charity clearly in one or two sentences.
Kate, I am sure, thought she was a great pm--after all, she masterminds, right?
When HAVE we seen her work on a project? All she does is shriek and flail her arms around.
I didn't watch all the episode, but it seems that she reverted back to her 'turf'--the kitchen.
At what point does willful ignorance become stupidity?
*******
That sums Kate up to a "T". There are way too many examples to enumerate this early in the morning ;-)

Hmm, I'm.not sure she is capable of embarrassment.
Great recap, Admin. Thanks.
Current terminology is disability ( as in intellectual disability). Some consider themselves " differently abled."
p.s. I have no idea where Milo is headed. She's a strange one
Great recap- thank you! So much crammed into the episodes, with editing, so we get to see what they want us to see.
Sad to see Gilbert go, as his ego is not as huge as some other, tries to get along with all cast mates, and was liked by all contestants ( as far as I could see) but his delivery was not a brand that execs would like. Geraldo encouraged talking about his kids, but I don't think Gilbert's delivery was what he had in mind. There really isn't anyone funny left .I agree, he was prime for firing, as the execs did not like his comments. Love Leeza- smart, classy lady.
This show is like a science experiment and I like the social aspects, although clearly, they usually know who they want as the winner and narrow it down to 2 -3 finalists well before the ending. And most of the winners deserve it. The rest of the shows for drama are carefully navigated by DT, as he knows who he wants in the final three, and is shrewd about keeping drama in the shows for ratings!

-----------------
Totally agree! she missed the mark of her charity, as she did not take the time to understand the terminology or the needs of these children. She should be ashamed. All about "the parents get a break," rather than the actual focus of the camp and what this means to the children attending the camp.
Great recap! I agree that TFW must really have pissed someone off because they really are showing her in a bad light. From the clueless ummmm, ummmm, ummmm to the ridiculous faces that she makes. Also, is it just me or is her hair and make-up not quite as good as the other ladies?
Luvo makes a steel cut oatmeal with fruit and different grains that is, IMO, delicious. You microwave it in the bag and then cut the bag and slide it on to a plate which creates a nice presentation. What I really like about it is that they've included pineapple and cranberry in the fruit compote. I purchased it at Target just to have something at work for a cold (relatively speaking since I'm in the SW) winter morning. I haven't tried any of their other products but I'd buy the steel cut oatmeal again. Hey, I could have helped them out with the commercial.
Finally, I can't wait until Geraldo and TFW are on the same team working together (wedding dress challenge). I wonder if anyone else will be able to fit in the room along with the two of them and their egos.
@MiloandJack: @Kateplusmy8 Re-watched show. U handled Ms Panic well. She has reputation 4losing it/bad temper tantrums. Could have been major distraction!
========
Once again her minions don't have the balls to include the individual they're talking about in their tweet. What a bunch of middle schoolers. What I saw was Brandi and Leeza stepping up to the plate and apparently hitting a home run since the women won. I saw TFW doing a lot of standing around while chowing down on that one meal that she nibbled until 8 while insisting others eat so they wouldn't die. Funny how the time was 8. She is nothing without that number.
I don't believe for a second Kate hung her head from embarrassment. I think she was trying her best to fake being upset Keshia got fired.
I agree. They were gone for six hours. I thought Kate, being the organized mother that she brags she is would have been back in three hours, done and done and boasting about what a good shopper she is because she has eight count em' 8 kids. Shawn of course had her own excuse.
&&&&
I've always wondered what she does all day and this episode shed some light on that. She seems quite capable of stretching out the simplest task into HOURS, puttering around, checking this out or that, overall dawdling like a 6 year old.
Whereas most women would just want to fly through their errands, get them done and get back to they can do something productive that day.
I agree with JMO in that they basically know after the first few episodes who is going to win and keep people like TFW around not for the great work that they do and their abilities but rather for the drama that they bring to the show. How else can you explain Gary Busey making it as far as he did? TFW may just be the Gary Busey of this season with Geraldo filling the Meatloaf role.
Apologies to commenters who did not think picking on physical appearance is fair, but my point was that she is choosing many expensive "enhancements," which in my opinion, are not helping her appearance at all.
She was an attractive person, but she does not know when to stop, in my opinion.
Still haven't seen Kate tweet anything about having a coupon code in order to get $100 of a Neat Connect. Guess Neat didn't want to use her and chose Vivica instead, even though Kate was the PM. Here's Vivica's original tweet:
Vivica A. Fox @MsVivicaFox
Hey Tweeps Ms Vivica is hooking u @ApprenticeNBC-style w $100 off #Neatconnect just use the code NeatVivica$100 b4 Mon! Get organized; )
Vivica then tweeted a reminder with a direct link to the check out page that includes the code.
Vivica A. Fox @MsVivicaFox
http://t.co/KZidnlELP3 Hey Tweeps! This the #Neatconnect link to use b4 Mon! #TeamFox #TeamVivica #SuccessIsntBuiltFromExcuses ;)
I notice that she included a winky face in both tweets. Was that a dig at Kate?
Hey Milo--looks like Neat chose a spokesperson, but it's not Kate!
Sheesh, how about, oh, take the working mom angle. Most moms are also the keepers of the schedules and information at their homes, married, divorced, or single. What woman would rather spend time organizing their filing system looking for receipts for taxes, etc. when she could be playing with her kids, having a romantic dinner with her husband or a girls night out? Now all you have to do is scan the receipt in and the neat connect does all the work. Voila! This product is so simple it's Neat!
^^^
Sillimom I think that would have been a great commercial, would make SENSE for Kate and her own brand. I mean she really should have been the star of it with a few actors as the kids and like you said, show how easy it is to schedule her kids with these products and how much time and space it frees up.
I really thought their commercial was so unoriginal, though they were under tremendous time crunches.
The way it was edited Kate didn't have a single idea. I can't believe she couldn't think of an idea that had to do with this helping out families especially those with kids.
Adm, your recap blew me away!
Just ditto ditto ditto to everything everyone on here is saying.
And then Leeza said they could find out information from their website
&&&&
Yes I distinctly remember either Leeza or Brandi talking about doing research on the web site or seeing something on their web site, I can't remember. Either way they had access to the same site I studied. I didn't include this comment in the recap because well, I can't possibly include every single comment.
So Kate should have done research and gotten up to speed on this product. No excuses.
The way it was edited Kate didn't have a single idea. 20
Editing not withstanding, this was probably the case.

I don't now how to do that but I believe both mac and windows have shortcut keys or combinations of keys that will take you straight to the bottom Mine is apple key-hold the down arrow. You fly down here 100 miles an hour.
In the preview for next Monday's show that they showed at the end of this show, DT says that he's going to do something he's never done before. Is it possible that he doesn't fire anyone after one of the tasks?
I noticed in the synopsis for that show, it only says that someone is fired after the second task.
Here's that synopsis again:
"A FAMILY AFFAIR"
01/12/2015 (08:00PM - 10:00PM) (Monday) : The celebrity teams create a fitness advertorial for Cosmo Body Magazine. Two members of the men's team solidify their rivalry, while the women fight over who should be the fitness model for their photo shoot. Boardroom Advisors: Ivanka Trump and Donald Trump, Jr. In the second hour, the project managers fight hard to make the most money for their charities by selling wedding dresses. One celebrity has a panic attack and disappears from the team, while another tries to redeem herself from a past fundraising blunder. In a dramatic boardroom, Mr. Trump sends another celebrity home. Boardroom Advisors: Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump. TV-PG DL
In the wedding dress task, we know they changed the teams around and it is no longer the men against the women. I wonder if he didn't fire anyone so that the new teams start out with the same number of people on each.
BTW, Admin, great recap again!! Although,I still wish you had used the gif of Kate saying "um".
I don't now how to do that but I believe both mac and windows have shortcut keys or combinations of keys that will take you straight to the bottom. 22
I can do that on my laptop but not on my phone. I can only post comments from my phone for some reason.
I can understand that, but you could tell that she was reluctant to discuss Cosby. She had the strangest look on her face, and yet they kept telling her that she could have called him. You'd think that when someone is so hesitant and won't talk, that there is more to it than meets the eye and one should be respectful of that. They shouldn't have pressed the issue like they did.
&&&
I think they could have edited Cosby out. You can edit out anything. Cosby wasn't the only thing they talked about. They could have talked about her generally inability to raise funds, and they could have edited it so that her biggest weakness was all about sort of not being organized and not delegating well, and too focused on the pies and not on the money. That would be easy to do, you'd never once have to mention Cosby. I disagree with Piers that the boardroom wouldn't have made sense without Cosby in there. A good editor can make anything make sense. Did they not edit him out because it would cost money to do so? I hope not.
The only thing I can think of is, is there any possibility they've actually purged the footage they didn't use already? I suppose that's possible, since they certainly must have hours upon hours of footage from these reality shows they never use. You can edit him out, but you'd need to go back in and replace it with other things they talked about.
Is it possible that he doesn't fire anyone after one of the tasks?
&&&&
He's done that before, I could have sworn. I'm pretty sure he's also fired two people at once before, and also had two winning teams before. He's also switched the teams up lots. So I can't imagine what twist he's talking about but it's probably something silly to try to drum up ratings.

To get to the comment section without having to read the post again, I do a "find on page" search and type in the word "sediments". It usually brings me right to the end of the post and the beginning of the comments.
Not sure how that works on phones or ipads, since I use a PC, but I hope that helps.
Now it's Leeza's fault that Kate looked bad. I have never seen anything like it.
Drina @Drinadoo 6m6 minutes ago
@nochanceofrain @Kateplusmy8 Leeza should have volunteered.She didn't want to do it. She wanted to criticize&look good saving the day
&&&
Well and here's the thing about it. Leeza is ALLOWED to do that. She is allowed to avoid PM if she wants to, then take over and save the day.
Did it occur to them that Leeza knows exactly what she is doing when she dumps PM on the weaker players, then swoops in and saves the day? She is far from stupid.
Guess what, a team member is allowed to have a strategy even if somebody like Kate is not smart enough to figure out a way around their strategy. That's on Kate.
HI - Great recap, but I have not seen a mention of the "official" recap from the NBC CE Website (under the Episodes tab) ? It's doesn't support Kate's version at all . Add this write up to the Blog posts mentioned earlier on this same website, they have nothing positive
to say about her contributions to date. It's no wonder Kate is not promoting this fiasco...
http://www.nbc.com/the-celebrity-apprentice/episodes
Guess what, a team member is allowed to have a strategy even if somebody like Kate is not smart enough to figure out a way around their strategy. 26
Isn't that part of the point?
Thanks for the recap, Admin. So hard to include the other players when Krieder is such a constant eff-up.
When Mini-me (DT's son) said their target market was too narrow with just women, I had to disagree. This was coming from men only.(funny, no woman on the Neat teams) IMO, women are the organizers of receipts, documents, etc. so I felt that was a petty complaint. Even in the men's ad, they showed the men giving orders and the women being the ones actually using the product. (with the exception of Gilbert scanning one thing at the end.)
As for why Kreider never references her Christian side? I believe it's for 2 reasons, 1. She was told to downplay that aspect because the Duggars already used that. 2. Her system of belief was turfed when it was no longer useful to her. (yes, IMO, she kicked even God to the curb)
As for Kreider's dawdling, I'm surprised she didn't run back to the team after every purchase just so that she could go out again. In Robert's book, he writes about that a few times. She has zero time-management skills. She likes to pretend she's so busy, but she's really, ahem, screwing the pooch.
And editing? Don't think for one minute that this wasn't in the works long before anyone showed up for filming. She would have been thoroughly researched. Heck, maybe even Brandi was asked to throw out the "lazy" comment. Why do you suppose that DT asked her, out of the 8 women in the room? Of course, he may have asked others and it was edited out. Her appearance has been carefully crafted from the beginning and her stay there carefully orchestrated. They are playing her like a fine-tuned fiddle.
PJ
IMO, women are the organizers of receipts, documents, etc. so I felt that was a petty complaint.
&&&&
I agree. Again could be the victim of whiplash editing, but I never remember hearing a thing about what target market they wanted. Unless they stressed that was crucial to them, which we didn't see, there's no way either team could have known how important that was. They had other things that were what they wanted to emphasize and the women did that.
Frankly I can't really picture a lot of dads bothering with this sort of thing. But a mom who is on an organizing kick, absolutely.
I went back and checked Wiki, and you're right, he has done that before. It was actually during the first CA, the one Piers Morgan won. There was a task where no one got fired. From Wiki:
Episode 7: The Mane Event Airdate: February 14, 2008
Losing team: Empresario
Fired: No firing – due to the team's unity and hard work
Notes: This was the first time in the history of The Apprentice that no one exited the show
So I guess we'll have to wait to see what he's talking about.
Yeah, that trip. Anyway, Kate bitches that they missed their connection because nobody came to get them.
&&&
That's pathetic. Did they just stand there once they got off the plane? Lol. Why didn't they walk 100 feet, look for the departures screens, find their city and head to their next flight? What doofuses.
Sweet Jesus! Blame it on Leeza (LOL) but the game allows all contestants to shine- TFW chose to be PM and delegate tasks, as she did not have a clue how to create a commercial to market the brand. She should be thanking Lisa!
I felt like Brandi's lazy comment was scripted also. They probably offered her a bonus to say it.
It occured to me that TFW being pm on a tech project was scripted, too, since she is clearly incompetent tech-wise. (all ways, actual
y).
The producers maybe said something to the stronger women about, hey, good idea to force TFW into this one, eh?
Although maybe the producers had her picked out for this task since part of her schtick is how organized she is. And they floated that idea to the other contestants. (not the young girls, though.)

NJ Gal, I agree TFMJG hair and makeup is not as good as the other ladies.
Gilbert is gone, but TFMJG is still there and is obviously being edited as the comic relief. Things too serious, let's show a crazy face or let's show TFMJG saying one thing and doing another!
I have been a Survivor fan since the beginning, and Mark Burnett s production company made the original Apprentice, and is responsible for the high quality of the filming and editing. The editors and producers know who the final two will be before the show airs, and looking back over the episodes you will see a storyline for each personality,
there is so much discussion on Survivor fan discussion boards about "the winners edit". I think the CA editing focuses on entertaining conflict as well as some hints toward the winner.
A storyline often seen in Survivor is that of the arrogant or egotistical or overly confident person who then gets humbled in some way: They fail in an important challenge; they boss around other team members who then blindside the person getting voted off the island; they fall apart emotionally after a team failure and the cameras capture every single sobbing snot-nosed moment. Some people have a "redemption edit" where they learn and grow from the experience and express very positive personality traits despite hardship and challenges.
Watching Survivor is a education in how to tell a great story on film. Apprentice was a hit originally because it was Survivor in a suit. Plus Carolyn and George were terrific.
Contestants in CA are not just celebs, they are characters in the story unfolding. If Geraldo makes it to the end, he is going to have some type of "redemption edit" to make up for the humongous ego. Leeza is already getting a winner edit, she saved the day by stepping up to help the incompetent PM. Brandi and Viveca have strong edits. Shawn is getting a loser edit. And TFMJG is getting the comic relief clueless wonder edit. So many people will be so frustrated with her as the weeks go on, there will be ongoing discussion of why she is still there and how did she skate by another week when she is useless. I do not think TFMJG will get a redemption edit. She is this season's Gary Busey!
I never saw Tfw 'nibbling'. In the pie episode she was full on chowing down. Her cheeks were puffed out she had so much food in her mouth.
She was chewing with her mouth open, licking her fingers, thoroughly enjoying that huge mouthful of food.
That was no dainty bite, like Kate Middleton would have done. TFW was stuffing about 8 (haha) bites into her mouth at once. Maybe even the whole pie. Or at least half the pie.

@MiloandJack: @Kateplusmy8 Re-watched show. U handled Ms Panic well. She has reputation 4losing it/bad temper tantrums. Could have been major distraction!
========
She is nothing without that number.
))))
I wonder if it's Brandi that has the panic attack since they are highlighting that at this point.
OT but big news in this house.
Roo is a Georgia Girl who I adopted in July at age 2.
She will not go out when it's raining. She does not get the concept of pee pads (ideas anyone?)
She went out onto snow covered ground for the first time last Saturday. Today on her third request, she went out while it's snowing, did her business and hauled herself back in. Lots of praise and treats of course. Progress!
They are playing her like a fine-tuned fiddle.

Agreed. TFW has clearly been "educated" on this show by PR people, but she is not a "people" person in any way, unless it involves flirting with men.
Admin, (#38), I think the plural of "doofus" is "doofi." TFW is
lightyears away from the "Can Do Kate" image she tried to manufacture. Six hours of shopping? People have planned
weddings in less time.
Wicked funny recap -- it almost makes me want to watch the show,
but until TFW's voice stops making my ears bleed, I think I'd better
refrain. As I was falling asleep last night, I remembered the line
about Kevin Jonas, "bless his doughy heart," and may have to
build a shrine to it!
Something interesting I noted. If you go to the Luvo website, they have an link to an interview with Vivica A Fox on their home page talking about her "win" on Celebrity Apprentice. Now go to Neat's home page. There's not one word about Kate or Celebrity Apprentice.
In the past, companies who are featured on CA usually have it on their website. I wonder if the company executives of Neat saw the show before inviting Kate to watch it with them. Something tells me No. She didn't do their brand any favors. All she did is stand around with a dumb look on her face and say "um".
Also, regarding the Neat coupon code for $100 off. Kate has a code too (I tried it and it worked). Funny that she doesn't even tweet the code or mention it anywhere. She's such a dummy.

First of all, I relieved for Jeff! Whew!
Second, what recourse do people have when rags like US mag. run with this story, that leaves his photo, linked to Kate (shudder) all over the interwebs and tv??
I agree that TFW must really have pissed someone off because they really are showing her in a bad light. From the clueless ummmm, ummmm, ummmm to the ridiculous faces that she makes. Also, is it just me or is her hair and make-up not quite as good as the other ladies?
____________
I don't agree that Kate must have pissed someone off. I think that's just Kate being Kate with her middle-school mentality, rolling eyes, dropping her jaw, frowning in fake concern. Her look of sheer stupidity when dealing with the technology of Neat was normal. Shoveling food in her face and chomping it down is Kate. The camera crews were there and catching Kate being Kate. I don't think anyone was pissed off necessarily, more glad for all the opportunities she offered.
Regarding her hair and make-up, her eye make-up was ghastly in the first show with all the dark eye shadow applied darkest heading up towards the end of her eyebrow line. It made her look like she had a tight rubber band affixed around her head trying for the Asian look. UGH. When she had the parted in the middle, straightened hair clinging to her skull, so did two other women that day, Brandi and someone else. All three looked like drowned rats. That look only worked in 1964 on cute, tanned 16 year old surfer girls with clean, shining hair with no ridiculous "product" that actually turns clean, shining hair into a dull, stringy mess.
Lucy Ellen, Oh my gosh, you're right. The official NBC recap is hilarious. Kate should be mortified at the way she is being portrayed. Here are a few phrases taken from the official NBC recap:
"....the women quickly realize Kate has no idea what she's doing..."
"....Kate just sits there looking like a deer in the headlights...."
"...Kate's lack of leadership...."
"..So Leeza and Brandi take charge, while Kate gets them lunch and interrupts them with inane questions...."
Here's the link (scroll down, the recap is under the video):
http://www.nbc.com/the-celebrity-apprentice/episode-guide/season-7/nobody-out-thinks-donald-trump/702703
They're about to show the executives their commercial. Of course Leeza is presenting not the actual PM. But in this case I don't care who the PM is, Leeza is the only one who has any business presenting.
====
I would like to have seen the discussion about that decision but since they've shaved CA down to an hour a lot of the little details are being edited out. I agree Leeza is the person who belonged up there giving the presentation, but given that Kate has had so much experience traveling around the country delivering speeches on her difficult life with eight, yes eight, kids it would have been fun to watch her spit out an um-saturated introduction to their commercial, just so we could witness how awful her oratory skills must surely be.
Anyway, great recap once again Admin. "Team Botox" LOL!
I thought Prescott's real name was Jones? Did his brother change
his last name, too?
I smelled something fishy when the US article quoted 3 different sources close to TFW. Unless 2 of them were Shoka and Zorro,
I don't think that number exists.
Also, regarding the Neat coupon code for $100 off. Kate has a code too (I tried it and it worked). Funny that she doesn't even tweet the code or mention it anywhere. She's such a dummy.
--------------------------
I tried it too and it comes up as a valid code. So why isn't Kate letting her tweeties know about it? Is she going to wait until Monday when it expires?
This shows exactly how "lazy" she is. Here's a deal for her followers but she's too lazy to promote it.
Too bad she doesn't follow Vivica on twitter. If she had, she would have seen Vivica's tweet, and then probably would have jumped right up and tweeted about HER code.
One thing you didn't mention but glared out at me. During the gratitude session where they all held hands, they were going 'ohhhmm' or something and at the end Kate said, "this is ridiculous" as they raised their hands. Very rude.
As far as the 6 hour shopping trip, since this was the task Kate was assigned, it is, of course, the most important one. This is her justification for taking so long. And, of course, that appearance is more important than substance--she has demonstrated this time and again. How many times have we commented on the piles of horse shit she serves her little moneymakers on cute heart shaped paper plates?
And, Leslie said....
If anyone has the time I really encourage you to watch again on youtube. It is so much more enlightening the second time around
I had to lol at this...as if this joins the legendary films and TV, like the Sopranos, Breaking Bad and Citizen Kane! But, yes, I probably will watch it again after reading the recap.
Thanks, Admin! What an awesome recap :) You are really good at this! I agree the 1 hour format is too rushed. I think Trump is totally getting her back for ruffling his piss-colored cotton candy.
Second, what recourse do people have when rags like US mag. run with this story, that leaves his photo, linked to Kate (shudder) all over the interwebs and tv?? 52
I don't know the answer, but iirc, Carol Burnett may have been the only one to sue a rag mag and win. Feel free to correct me, guys.

I'm waiting for the Today Show interview. I hope they keep her to the script with just CA questions and end it if she tries to divert into her poor struggling mother of 8 routine.
Can you imagine Kate's speech in the cab after she gets fired?
"I just don't get it"
"I worked so HARD"
"At least now, I can go back home to MY 8 kids"
I can't wait to see that death glare of hers when Donald cans her butt. She does not take rejection well.

Just an observation...looking at pics of Kate...is her face getting longer and longer? It should be her nose, but it appears to be her face. Anyone else notice this? Don't know how she can deny all the work she's had done.
Just an observation...looking at pics of Kate...is her face getting longer and longer?67
A little more and she'll.have that horsey look.
Now that the Neat coupon code has been mentioned here,
I suppose Gladys might now hint to TFW about it, like...
"Know what would be a sweet treat? A coupon for NEAT for
your fans who tweet! LOL #OrganizedMama#WinningPM"
The first time something is done in the history of the show? Maybe he fires Kenya not for being on a losing team but rather for stealing Vivica's phone and tweeting complaints about menopause from it. I remember reading about the whole phone stealing/tweeting incident.
The hell with the Today Show, I want to see her appear on the Wendy Williams show AND I want to hear what Andy has to say when she gets fired. He's met her and really does not seem to like her at all (snicker, snicker).
We all know that Milo reads this cespool of hate so I fully expect her to tweet something aobut TFW's coupon for Neat (passively/aggressively urging TFW to confirm).
Just an observation...looking at pics of Kate...is her face getting longer and longer? (67)
I think it's the result of her receding hairline combined with parting her hair right in the middle and letting it hang limply on each side of her face thus elongating it even more. And that, to me, is an indication that her hair and make-up are not done professionally. In one episode her hair was really dirty, -not just oily-, and her face had a weird grayish tint all around her mouth, almost like a faint 5 o'clock shadow.
R'uh R'oh! Someone is giving this story some legs.

Apologies to commenters who did not think picking on physical appearance is fair, but my point was that she is choosing many expensive "enhancements," which in my opinion, are not helping her appearance at all.
She was an attractive person, but she does not know when to stop, in my opinion.
--------------------------
The comments, I believe, weren't about her botox, boob job, hair frying or whatever...yes, those are fair game because she looks dreadful. She's aged herself 10 years and looks like every bimbo on the block. They all start to look alike after awhile.
I think the concern was about picking apart those physical "defects" that she can't help -- the wonky eye, back hump, wrinkled neck, jaw alignment, those things that might be genetic.

Her veneers seem too large for her mouth and I don't think that long hair helps either. Her skin looks like it's been stretched over her skull. If she's getting treatments to improve her looks, they sure aren't doing the trick. They've just made her homely. I'd ask for my money back.

I can only speak for myself, but there was never any doubt in my mind. Her association with the Mad British Guy and and the tweets between them spoke volumes as well. Thankfully he found his conscience.
Great recap, Admin! But I must ask a personal question. Does Anderson know you are two-timing him with your new boyfriend, Ian??
The friend that Sig (aka crab fisherman) got to do the voiceover for the men's commercial is Mike Rowe, who used to host "Dirty Jobs" and now has a show, "Somebody's Gotta Do It" on CNN. He has a great voice and is a lot of fun. His humor is very much like Admin's.
When Kate scolded Brandi with her "Don't default to drama!" line, I couldn't help but wonder how many times she has said that same thing to her kids. It sounds exactly like something she would say to them all the time.
I think it is really funny that TFW was sent out shopping. We called it here long ago that she would be the gopher who would be tasked with shopping because it is a low-risk job, and a way for the others who are actually doing the brain-work to get the useless people out of their hair.
I said in a previous post that I wish the episodes were longer. You just know that the women had a ton of stuff to say about Kate's inept performance as PM. All that had to be edited out for lack of time. I wish NBC would put some of those deleted boardroom scenes online.
Oh well. I'll be patient. I'm sure we will get lots more chances to see Kate being an incompetent nincompoop.
If they're going to fire someone from the winning team, for the first time in apprentice history, it should have been Kreider. DT should have been told that she did NOTHING as project manager and that Leeza took over. He also should have been told that that was the reason Brandi panicked, because time was running out and nothing was getting done.

LOL! Thanks for my laugh of the day AuntieAnn!
The long face...I think what's happening is that when she lost weight, it went off her face first. Sometimes, depending on genetics, that's the first place it goes (raising my hand here). That, added to her procedures, really did a number on her face, making it look even more drawn, gaunt, long and narrow. It's not a good look on her and makes her look so much older than what she is. Problem is that she can't control where the weight is going to come off, and the more she loses, the more long and narrow her face is going to look. And she does have a high forehead and receding hairline (from all the bleaching, frying and extensions) so that really doesn't help the situation.
She looked so much better with the short, pixiesh hair cut and wispy bangs. She was cute. That long, straight, horrible haircut only draws her face down farther.

I'm the first to admit that I've been a Mama Grizzly and perhaps a bit over-protective, but I never let two-year-olds unattended in a house. Never. In fact, I can remember waiting until someone else was there to watch them every minute while I took a shower. Kate not only left those kids alone in the house, but also in the garage. Lord Almighty.
====
I was the same way and I'm also horrified at the number of times I've read where she left those kids on their own. It IS truly amazing none of them were seriously injured or dead.

Geraldo was clearly acting up on this show. When I watched it the second time around it was so blatantly obvious. That phone call he was making when the executives showed up during the task where Kevin was the PM was so fake. He is being more obnoxious then I think he really is in life. I think this is his gameplan. No way in hell would Geraldo ever act like that doing a critical meeting with executives. The man is 71 and did not get to where he is by acting so foolishly. Ian even said this: that Geraldo KNOWS what he is doing and this is a strategic move on his part.
What I don't understand is why choosing to act like this in front of four million people when his career is about over? I mean Geraldo always had a little bit of obnoxiousness and ego in him but this is so out of the top it is comical.
I believe we will hear from Geraldo when this is over that this was his game plan. Maybe the plan is simply to help draw viewers to his friend's show and it turn Trump will protect his little buddy from being fired until the near end. And it is working. All the write-ups are a lot about him. And he sure beat being fired twice when he was on the line.

@MiloandJack W/ my .40 off/ gal of gas (groc store rewards pts that u earn w ea $1 spent) I filled my SUV for $27 today!👍#FeelLikeATeenAgain
She's not saying if it was half full at the time or empty!
Lowest gas prices here average is 2.30 and that's for regular. Gas is higher in Berks County. Take forty cents off that per gallon, and it's 1.90 a gallon. It's a 26 gallon tank.To fill a tank with regular, it's going to cost about $50.00 if it's empty. Check my math...I'm not the sharpest in the tool box when it comes to my math skills. That is, of course, if she's using regular gas, more if she's filling it with mid-grade or premium, and more yet if the price of gas is higher where she is.
Heck, I filled my SUV today for ten dollars, but it was only three-quarters tank empty!

One celebrity has a panic attack and disappears from the team, while another tries to redeem herself from a past fundraising blunder.) This is from the recap of next week's two shows.
I think Brandi is missing for an anxiety attack and Kate is the one who is trying to redeem herself. I can't wait to see how much Kate brings in money wise.
Child meets mother's needs, child gets positive attention.
Same old same old in TFW Land.
The kid just had a long first week back at school - why the
heck isn't someone making her dinner on a Friday night?
Or was the whole story fabricated to let us know the kids
weren't with their deadbeat dad for the weekend?
Hmm--does Kate's microwave break every January?
========
Well when you don't really cook and use the microwave to heat most meals quite possibly it would break down that often. Especially if she's slamming the door on it all the time (we've seen how she treats things). My microwave is probably 5+ years old and I've never had any problems (knock wood). But of course I'm not reheating for 8 (count 'em) kids.
(Leslie)
On the website for CA there is a section for PM's blog. Well, every PM has written about their time except Kate. Vivica had to blog about the time that Kate was PM. Well, that isn't surprising.
It brings me back to Kate sitting in the party room of NEAT watching her episode of being PM and how she must have felt so embarrassed. Remember she had no idea of what her fellow contestants interviews would be like. Many made disparaging remarks about her being lost among other things. I would have been mortified. And heck yeah, I would have called in sick and not attended the NEAT party knowing how made I performed so poorly on this task as PM.
Funny -- the kids were away all week at school, but now that
they're home, Mommy is busy with "work" (tweeting to her
6 fans).
All these chit-chatty tweets make me suspect the next CA shows
are gonna be doozies!
Geraldo was clearly acting up on this show
$$$$
I was thinking that but didn't say so in the recap. This whole thing could be an act, a parody he's doing. His game may be smarter than we realize. It's really hard to believe someone so nuts has been so successful. Or maybe he's just a beautiful mind!
(Leslie)
If Kate insists on keeping her long hair, she should at least cut it to just 2 or 3 inches below shoulder length and cut a side sweep bang. Both of those ideas would correct her long narrow face. Her hair is way too long and her forward is large too. This cut would make her look much better and be more age appropriate too.
I will say it seems many of her dresses are cut just to the top of the knee and are professional looking. That is a big improvement for her.

"Jon" is mentioned a mere 936 times. :)
Has anyone noticed that Kate keeps getting caught taking quick glimpses at the camera out the corner of her eye? lol. I know they're told not to look directly into the camera when they're in the war room and the boardroom, cuz it's reality tv and all that but she just can't help herself. No one else is doing it, just TFW.
I agree her face appears longer. She had a round pretty face, but now it's gaunt due to weight loss and procedures. Not attractive.
Geraldo actually wrote a post about why he acted the way he did on CA. He felt that Ian, Kevin and Lorenzo plotted a conspiracy against him so that he would be voted off.
I guess he doesn't like it that everyone is blasting him about his actions on the show and he felt he needed to explain himself.
He really does have quite the ego.

5:38am - 10 Dec 12
Boo hoo!
(Leslie)
I remember Kate did comment once that she messed up by not having two microwaves installed because she has three, yes, count them, three ovens. Remember under her stovetop she has two ovens so she did mess up with only one microwave. To reheat for nine people that must take a very long time with one microwave. But with her money, she could have that built in oven under the microwave taken out and another built-in microwave installed. But then she would have to have her cabinetry with the larger whole for the oven replaced to. Maybe she will have TLC do that for her free in the next episodes HA!
Heck, I filled my SUV today for ten dollars, but it was only three-quarters tank empty!
&&&&&&&&&
Oops. Make that 1/4 tank empty. Too many Bloody Marys tonight, and Kate makes me so darn frustrated with her half-truths or whatever she's putting out there right now.

Yep. I have two built-in microwaves and two ovens, and I use all of them, often at the same time. I have one stove top and a Jenn-Air stove top grill, which I hardly ever use. But those two microwaves really come in handy!
What a doofus. If it takes so long to reheat everything in the microwave, the logical thing to do is put it all in an oven. At some point in microwaving, you hit the tipping point and a regular oven takes the same amount of time. SMH

Her "forward," as in bosoms? LOL! I know what you meant. It just hit me as very funny!
I just saw a commercial for the new special. Gawd, those eye rolls are annoying. Whatever she does with her hands and those gestures are equally obnoxious. She's really like a little kid.

Did she say what they are cooking? If they are reheating meals that were frozen, then those get done much faster than in an oven, which takes time to heat up.
I love problems of the 1% tweets.
Geraldo sounds more normal in his blog post. I tend to think he is playing things up on the show for strategy.
He is still going on about being demoted to the second car though. Lol, he is never going to let that go. Who cares what car you road in for what, 20-30 minutes?
This show is fake, but it's real, too.
To me she looks like a completely different person than even from say a couple years ago when I saw her in person.
I feel like I saw her right before she absolutely ruined herself.
but I never let two-year-olds unattended in a house. Never.
&&&
I've seen dozens of kids thrown into foster care that age for being left alone.
If she paid 1.2 million for that house, then it should have come with two microwaves, an attached garage and an intercom system. I've never heard of paying that much for a home that didn't have an intercom, or wasn't wired for an intercom, in each room.
I agree, a home like that needs to come with an intercom. It's borderline unsafe without one, it's so huge you need to be able to reach someone right away in an emergency.
I guess the only way I can see her thinking it's not necessary is because the way they just text each other in the home. Still.

&&&&
Nah, lots of people have sued for defamation and more celebs than just Carol Burnett, but it's true it's not too enough you see a celeb sue in the USA because our law requires you to show actual malice. Just messing up your facts or a bad source isn't actual malice, it's so hard to prove. And the burden is on the celeb and how do they show that very easily?
Lots of private people have sued for defamation and won. I know someone that is suing their ex right now for defamation for something he self published that spoke ill of her. She may very well win.
This Prescott guy is actually in a pretty good position to sue, because I really don't think he would be considered a public figure. No way is he near famous enough.
This is the problem though with lawsuits. Sure, he could sue. But it's going to cost time, it's going to cost him money, and it's probably going to be lengthy and stressful. He has to decide is it worth that just to prove to the world he has nothing to do with Kate Goz-land.
There are actually a good many people, maybe even most people, who really don't see the point in bothering with a lawsuit. It's just not worth it to them. That's their call. It certainly doesn't mean the garbage said about them was true.

Maybe she did. Apparently there was so much editing done that we really don't know everything that was done and what was scrapped.
&&&&
I think it's really suffering from the heavy editing. What a shame. There is so much more going on here we don't see.
The problem is the sheeple think blaming "editing" somehow makes any of this not ever happen. They don't seem to understand that while editing can leave out a lot of context and editing can help frame a bunch of random scenes into a story, what editing can't do is make Kate make that expression, say that cutting word, stuff her face, or sit around. Kate did it, and if they feel like pulling all her worst moments and only showing those they can do that. If she never did those things they wouldn't be able to do that.
The wedding dress challenge is also on On Monday.

I have a feeling that recap is going to be epic. lol
As a Twitter-challenged poster, I have a question. There's been a sheep on Twitter who is retweeing many tweets to Kate from "haters." If Kate has those haters blocked, when this sheeple retweets the tweets from them, does Kate see them (if she doesn't have this sheeple blocked)?
Does that make sense? I know what I'm trying to ask, but still...

She could announce the exact time when they are allowed into the kitchen for breakfast.
Geez, I have never known anyone who can break so many appliances, the way Kate can. Gee, what does Kate do have hissy fits and break things or the kids break things. Doesn't Kate have just about 2 of everything?
Sleepless (144): "Exactly, but I think that's beyond their scope of understanding!"
))))))))))))))))
Way beyond, and it's the same problem they have trying to understand that if those aren't Kate's words in the journal, then she wouldn't have copyrighted them. You just don't copyright something that you didn't do. What would be the reason? They just don't get it, or maybe if some of them do, they just can't accept it or would never admit it. It would mean being kicked out of the flock, led out of the barnyard, and that would be too humiliating.
I finally got around to watching TFW's pm episode. Far worse than I imagined, far far worse. She is beyond worthless.
I loved it when Leezah said that everyone on the team knew that if she hadn't taken over as de facto (think Kate even knows what that means?) pm that they would not have even had a commercial to air.
You would have had NO idea TFW was the pm. She was just there to socialize.
And what the heck was that big pie or sandwich thing she was stuffing in her face, ever so piggily?
I hated how she kept checking to see if the camera was on her. Sneaky little glances. If it was, she immediately started makng faces; if not she just stayed looking normal.
Also, when they were presenting the commercial, the commercial lingered on Vivica, and the CA camera pans to TFW giving the stink eye to the execs. Implying that how could they be impressed with that hamming it up Vivica when they could be admiring TFW instead.
I was appalled at how completely worthless she was. And got by with it. Another episode where she should have been the one fired, but managed to skate due to some other circumstance.
A couple of things: why Kate has long hair, round shoulders, bad posture. Nice way to hide it.
Kate could get a stand alone portable microwave, if she really wants another one. They cost around $60.

New episode synopsis:
Kate and the kids head north for one last summer adventure. There are fun things planned along the way like a stop at Plimoth Plantation, lobster filled lunches, arts and crafts, and outdoor excursions.
One last summer adventure? As if Kate took those kids anywhere last summer before the cameras showed up! You know, in a way I get why some kids are still ok with filming: it's their only chance to leave the house during the summer.
Also, there is apparently a K+8 marathon before the new episode and it contains solely K+8 episodes from the last season(inlcuding the RV epi) + the two part updates from this summer.
I just realized what last night's tweets were about, mentioning
gas prices and the broken microwave: TFW's setting up the
narrative for the TLC specials. We've spent the week laughing
at wannabe superstar TFW, in full hair and makeup, wearing
expensive clothes and hobnobbing with celebrities, and acting
like a diva. But maybe even TFW is clever enough to realize
that's not a viable career path. Whereas she could conceivably
score 5 specials a year with TLC until the tups are 18, and
never have to pick up a bedpan again.
We had a great clue from the yard sale pictures that "piecing and
patching" TFW is front and center. So I say stay tuned for more
struggling single mom tweets this weekend. Unless the kids go
to their dads, in which case she'll be on Twitter silence.
In light of tweet yesterday from millionaires "brother" denying TFW dating his brother, CA being aired and Kenya letting the cat out of the bag...I still stand by the opinion that this whole dating a millionaire farce is to throw the focus off of Ms. I'm a Christian single mommy doing it all to I'm really a fame whore, church fleecing, money hungry, adulteress....so don't listen to what Kenya said about Skeevie and I sharing a room together...lalalala with fingers in ears

The Soup is on right now and it seems they are going to show a lot of CA clips.
I feel so bad for the kids and the slop they have to eat. Feel bad for Mady, having to cook their supper, after school and things all week, because the witch proclaims she cooks 3 times a day. Code speak for cooks 3 times a day: She tells the kids to cook 3 times a day.
Gawd, Kate is either dumber than a box of hair, or she's sitting there with her pink phone laughing at getting her lickspittles worked up over the stupidest things.
If your microwave breads, get a cheap one. She's got a ton of space in that house, so buy a spare!
What an idiot.
She also breaks things more than anyone I've ever seen.
I wonder if that Jeff guy could get Marty Singer to send the media cease and desist letters.
I'm still hung up on that tweet from last night about M making dinner.
#FAMLOVE - TFWspeak for, my needs are being met.
I would imagine one of the best things for the G kids about being with their dad is that hopefully it's all about them. When they're at home,
it's all about Mom. Her needs, her moods, her schedule, her whims,
her lists, etc. Their psyches and personalities and characters are
being developed every day under the roof of a mother who does
not seem to be that interested in the job.
So Mady reheated slop in the microwave? What's the big deal? Try setting the bar a bit higher!
She's 14- how about making her mom's famous meatloaf. She can decide between:
2 to 3 eggs
3/4 to 1 cup celery, finely chopped, I use food processor on pulse
3/4 to 1 cup onion, finely chopped, I use food processor on pulse
3/4 to 1 cup green pepper, finely chopped, I use food processor on pulse
3/4 to 1 cup carrots, finely chopped, I use food processor on pulse
About 1 1/2 to 2 cups breadcrumbs (Italian seasoned if on hand. Otherwise, plain works too), may need more breadcrumbs depending on the consistency of the meatloaf
3/4 cup Parmesan cheese (shredded or grated)
1/4 to 1/2 cup ketchup.
Then, she can dither over weather it should cook in a meatloaf pan or a glass bread baking dish.
I feel completely manipulated by the show itself. This is simply product placement being flogged by botoxed women and beefcake men (well, mostly beefcake men).
_____________________________
I don't feel manipulated at all, maybe because I have watched the show long enough to know what it is all about.
&&&&
Older comment I haven't chimed in on yet. I don't feel manipulated either but maybe that is also because I watch the show.
They always have very obvious product placements. The tasks are almost always built around promoting a product. You might even see a real commercial for that product during the commercials. It doesn't bother me.
By the way on one of the episodes of British Apprentice they had to come up with their own London bus tours. It was a really cool idea for a project and sounds similar to this ferry tour.
"It's not some protect Kate Gosselin conspiracy"
&&&
A lot of people have explained they haven't seen this show before so let's try to be patient if they don't understand the rules.
Plus, Trump by his own admission often changes the rules or throws in a twist, maybe he WILL fire someone on a winning team, so it's not the easiest rule book to keep up with.
The biggest product placement on CA is the Trump brand! I love how he tells the fauxlebs to go back to their beautiful suite in Trump Tower.
I don't find Mady heating up leftovers to be so controversial that it should elicit so much dialog. When my kids were teens they learned to make the family dinner one night week. Of course I was there for guidance. It actually turned out to be a great source of dinnertime conversation and amore than a few laughs at times. My daughter could make better fried chicken than I ever did (I won't mention the mess in the kitchen LOL).
Mady probably reheated some of Kate's "famous" chicken cacciatore. Stick the casserole dish in the micro, zap it...voila...cacciatore for the third time. Yum!!
I don't much like Trump, but when it comes to branding and marketing, he's in a class all by himself.
It's interesting that we were wondering if CA would even get picked up, and now, the show it a huge hit. Huge. Huge numbers.
I have to think that it's because it has been, and continues to be, promoted like nothing I've ever seen.
Did anyone hear about Bill Cosby's terrible joke when performing in Canada this week?
Evidently, he was on stage and a woman got up and walked towards the lobby. BC asked her where she was going, and she said she was going to get a drink.
He said something like "are you sure you want to do that around me?".
Ummm... awkward!
I wonder if the one-hour editing has helped to bring viewers in.
While I'm a big fan and would prefer 2 hours, an average viewer might not want as big of a time commitment to watch. While it's still two hours each week, it will be half the amount of weeks to watch it. The new two episodes a night format seems to be working for them ratings wise. You do feel like we've really progressed in the game by the end of the two hours. I think that is satisfying to viewers, and keeps them coming back.
I think having a new microwave installed would involve the ridiculously difficult task of pulling out the broken one, unplugging it, plugging in the new one and pushing it into place.
A week, huh?
I don't find Mady heating up leftovers to be so controversial that it should elicit so much dialog.
&&&
It doesn't get my dander up. From what we've seen of Mady she isn't going to do anything she darn well doest want to do. Heck maybe she put a little nightcap in the dinner and sent mommy dearest off to dreamland early! :)
I think though like a lot of things with Kate, it's not an incident that can be viewed in isolation as drive bys love to do. It does seem like Kate is constantly talking about how the kids prop her up, serve her, cater to her, are focused on her. I don't think that's healthy. They are 10 and 14, they should not be this constantly focused on their mother and her well being. Or any parent. They have a healthy and able bodied mother, it is important they not feel burdened with her issues when there is no need to be.
Now do I believe everything Kate says they do for her and say to her has really happened? Not really.
Speaking of product (copany) placement remember when they had to create some sort of office product for Staples on the original Apprentice? The winning team came up with the Desk Apprentice Organizer. It was/is a great product. I bought one and still use it on my desk at work.

Kate making a big deal about it is what's ridiculous.
I mean, the little kids should be able to make their own plates and micro.
I get the feeling that the kids aren't allowed to cook in "Kate's kitchen".
Usually, moms who love to cook get their kids in elbow deep, and enjoy teaching them knife skills, cooking and baking.

I've also noticed this. I don't remember Kate ever cooking much WITH her children. Either Kate is cooking and they are either watching or off somewhere, or the kids are cooking and Kate's in bed with her coffee or box o' wine.
Some of my fondest memories are cooking together with my mom. I don't remember much of what she made me or I made her separately, but cooking TOGETHER, yes I remember.
And as always, I find her obsession and preoccupation with the kitchen unhealthy. She's wrapped her entire self worth around it. It's wonderful to be able to cook fresh healthy meals for your children every day but it's not the only thing they need from you as a parent.

I think Kate sequesters herself in there more than she needs to in order to avoid interacting with the kids.
I think she's in there either cooking or texting, or she's in her room.

Yes. I also think she's latched on to something she thinks makes her a good mom, and holds onto it with all her might. As I've said before I do have someone in my family who has a very similar obsession with cooking, with their self worth being wrapped up in it. And it's like if you don't fall all over them tell them how wonderful everything they made was, they get all butt hurt. If you want to order out that night, they get all butt hurt. If somebody ELSE wants to cook, they get all butt hurt. It's very annoying.
Sometimes you just want to eat, say thank you so much it was great, and get on with it. Without crowning someone queen of baked ziti and a salad and giving them the key to the city for all time to come.
Everyone that Kate surrounds herself with SERVE HER. That is a fact and we realized that years ago. I believe others that she brought into her web have finally caught on (lack of encouraging tweets from Dianna or pumpkin bottom). Even some long time fans see the light. Hopefully TLC will finally be done with such an arrogant POS. It's time for her to go away. Few people are interested.

OMG the word count on the ! and the "I" and "spanked".
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It looks like the "I"s have it in the word count......51,572!!!
Exclamation marks.......15,025....and that's single exclamation marks only!!!!!!!!!!
"Jon" is mentioned a mere 936 times. :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I wonder what words are with Jon. Jon is a pile of..... Jon is a piece of...
Walking into the room after the firing when Keisha was fired, her head was hanging and she could barely look at people. Then she gets her trusty plastic Kleenex out of the good bra and makes a bee line to Shawn? Jamie? and said I can't believe Brandi called me lazy. She was SO NERVOUS! Instead of going to the source who said it, she goes to the younger person to plead her case and get Sympathy!
The drama would of been neat and sweet lol if all they had on those platters of food were reindeer hamburgers and moose dogs. Steve would of made an appearance then. Bwahahahaha
Kate is a more ask not what you can do for your kids, ask what your kids can do for you mother. She has it firmly established in their minds that they 'owe' her for giving birth to them. She's doing to them the same thing that her parents apparently did to her. I don't why she's going down the same road because by all accounts she resents her parents for that. Or maybe that's her plan - to make them work for her as long as they're bringing in the paychecks and then boot them out when they're of age to find their own jobs.
It very well could be that Kate was stomping and clomping around, flapping her arms and shouting out orders as usual and Mady was trying to keep her reasonably calm. Kate could still be fuming about the negative comments regarding her PM debacle. I get the sense that Mady has taken on that role.
I meant to mention yesterday, to whomever said they liked my screen name, I took if from a comment by FlimsyFlamsy. :)
@LeezaGibbons: @kevinjonas You captured America with you intelligence, sense of cool and your strength under fire on @ApprenticeNBC We will really miss YOU
Leeza show true class and works hard which is why she's probably going to be the winner.
Everything she does makes her a good mom, in a way that most people would find twisted.
Steve makes her a good mom because he needs to guard her.
Running makes her a good mom because she's a shining example to her kids (omg, remember dragging the kids to Litchfield? Did that make it onto kate's 10 best list?).
Going to Las Vegas for over a week made her a great mom because she's such a shining example of achieving goals. She was thoughtful enough to have the babysitter pick up a cake-that congratulate HER (did that make a list?)
Buying a $$$ Audi sports car made her a great mom because she saved money on gas (when she BITCHED that Jon got one)
I could go on and on, but everything she does, no matter how selfish and spendy, is for the kids.
Watched task 2 and 3 on YouTube and need a break. Good God. Geraldo is unbearable. Kate can qualify to go to Camp Barnabas as she is mentally handicapped. I'm not kidding. She's clearly not smart, she is a complete void inside, and too stubborn to do ANYTHING to improve herself. Plastic surgery doesn't count. And I must say that her plastic surgery is so karmically spot on. She looks like a lizard/donkey love child
"Queen of Baked Ziti" -- I think that title is begging for a macaroni-encrusted crown, Admin (AuntieAnn, get out your glue gun).
Yes, we pick apart TFW's tweets because of patterns we've detected
from her own words and actions. Of course it's great for kids to help
out in the kitchen. And I certainly don't consider M making dinner to
be awful or abusive. But when you know the lay of the land at
the McMansion -- remember, TFW said herself, "We've made it
your business" -- you see things through a different lens. We
know TFW doesn't have a job. We know her children have tons
of chores. We know TFW was out at least one night this week
for, ahem, work (the Neat event). So to read that on a Friday
night, after a full week of school and homework, her 14-year-old daughter is fixing dinner for 9...that seems a bit off to me. Just
my own thoughts and feelings -- other may see it differently.
@nochanceofrain @Kateplusmy8 Leeza should have volunteered.She didn't want to do it. She wanted to criticize&look good saving the day
Not to worry, Kate took the credit and that's all that matters to her. That's one thing she's pretty good at.
As PM she could have assigned herself the part of the Neatologist in their commercial to put herself in the spotlight. It would have been the perfect role for her. She's always selling herself as the OCD organizational neat freak. There wasn't much acting involved that called for a lot of line rehearsal so she could have pulled it off but she missed that boat too.
She ended up just puttering around doing a whole lotta nuthin. The most direction I saw her give was to shush Kenya when she came into the editing room late in the day. lol.
Did anyone hear about Bill Cosby's terrible joke when performing in Canada this week?
Evidently, he was on stage and a woman got up and walked towards the lobby. BC asked her where she was going, and she said she was going to get a drink.
He said something like "are you sure you want to do that around me?".
Ummm... awkward!
---------
Yes, Tucker's Mom. I read about that last night, and thought...what a dumb cluck. Insensitive and stupid. I also saw that a guy in the audience stood up and said., "we don't love you," and was escorted out.
@Sassccha @BarbaraJean_s have you ever seen Kate abuse her children, she doesn't. She didn't even spank them they were put in time out
Apparently this fan hasn't seen the spanking picture when one of the girls kept blowing a whistle!
Sheeple are getting dumber by the day. What did she expect? TLC to air an entire episode, "Summer Spankings" and build the show around Kate and the wooden spoon, showing her dragging the kids off to the living room and giving them a good whipping?
Because it was never shown in an episode, it never happened. Good lord.
Interesting tweet from Goody. Is she finally beginning to believe that those journals are Kate's.
This is the whole tweet which she posted on TwitLonger:
@kateplusmy8 If the alleged journal is true I forgive you. It happened 9 years ago. You were overwhelmed, stressed & suffered from post partum blues. I support you & believe you are a damn good mother.
But, but, but--Milo said that Kate didn't suffer from PPD and Kate herself said she "refused" to suffer from PPD. These were tweeted after the CWS episode when Goody brought up Kendra having PPD.
MsGoody2Shoes21 @msgoody2shoes21 · 2 Mar 2013
@MiloandJack @Kateplusmy8 IMO, I think after she got well from her post partum depression that lasted months, Hank took load off her plate.
Fired Up 4 Kate @MiloandJack
@msgoody2shoes21 @Kateplusmy8 Good thing Kate didn't get #PostPartumDepression Imagine how the Gs would have suffered w/out her!
Kate Gosselin @Kateplusmy8 · 2 Mar 2013
@MiloandJack @msgoody2shoes21 I had zero time to think about myself and how I was feeling.aware I could slip into it easily and refused!:)
Clarifying my comment last pm:
I didnt mean2imply that PPD was a CHOICE.I meant I 'refused'-mindset I use in life often,whether helps or not
So Kate, herself, said she didn't have PPD, but I'm sure she'll be thrilled that Goody forgives her any way.
The most direction I saw her give was to shush Kenya when she came into the editing room late in the day. lol.
I couldn't believe she sushed a grown woman. I'm surprised she wasn't given sh*t for it.
At some point, we grow up and say things like, "please be quiet, I'm trying to listen", instead of SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
OMG, the woman kept a hard, large spoon in her car so she could spank on the go.
Who does that?
Goody has to be in denial. Kate "refused" to get post-partum depression, unlike those slackers like Brooke Shields, who bravely spoke out about it to help others.
Brooke must be weak minded.
Kate spanked because she let her temper take over and did nothing to mitigate her beating her kids and pulling them by the hair, and yelling at them for having bodily functions.
Goody, remember that episode when Kate went to the kids' room to get them up after their nap, and Hannah was covered in poop? Kate gaped her maw and acted all sweet and "look!!!". Oh my heavens!!
Well, here's what real life was like- Kate screamed and awoke the child, freaked out and made her stand in cold water while she showered her, all the while Hannah was shaking.
Kate SAID she didn't know whether it was from the cold water, or her yelling.
Remember, at this time, Jon got up and took care of the twins, and brought Kate coffee before he traveled an hour for work. Kate got up at 8am, wtf?, and took care of the kids from 8-12. The kids were forced to stay in their cribs from 12-4. 4 hours kid-free time.
When Jon came home, he took over ALL child care, bathed each and every kid, got them ready for bed and put them in bed.
So, Kate's day consisted of maybe 6 hours of child care, and not's not even considering the ARMY of volunteers, family and babysitters she had much of the time.
Oh, and Jodi, bless her heart, took the kids every Friday so Kate could get stuff done.
So why did this woman resort to physically striking her children for such infractions as having a goshdam accident?
Goody, she beat her kids for peeing and pooping, so all that squealing Kate did when her kids were on the potty was for the camera.
And who leaves a kid in a dark room for 30 min. to sit on the potty?
That's cruel!
lol, Kate Is A Twit. I was just going to post the same thing. All of Katedom can now relax, everything is right with the world now that Goody forgives her. Can't you hear the collective sigh of relief among both sheeple and non-fans because Kate has been forgiven by Goody, of all people?
Kate was waiting for this with bated breath. Oh, happy day. Go in peace.
I wonder what Goody has to say about the animal abuse. Does she forgive her? Was Kate still suffering from ppd at that time? What about milking those church-goers for love offerings, when Jon and Kate were settling on a 1.2 million dollar house? Is that forgivable? Was Kate still under stress at that time?
Well that settles that. Guess you can shut down the blog now, Admin. Goody has forgiven Kate.
Oy. I can't believe these sheep. Sure, you beat your kids. Who wouldn't? Sure, you sold them to the highest bidder. Who wouldn't? Sure you worked their little butts off so you could live in the lap of luxury. Who wouldn't? I forgive you.
How can they breathe when their heads are so far up her ass?
@GayleKg @msgoody2shoes21 @Kateplusmy8 I third that! We all have done some things we regret if journal is true.
And here's another one! When has Kate said she regretted any of this? "If" the journal is true." What happened to lies, all lies, libel, defamation, etc.?
This is the sheeple who tweeted that God advised Kate to do another show. Perhaps she believes that He was watching over Kate when she spanked the kids to make sure that she didn't do any serious physical injury to them.
Sometimes you have to stop yourself from banging your head on the wall. Where do these people come from?
