Not only are there Duggar videos on the TLC website, now there are episodes on You Tube.
A book about sheeple is a wonderful idea, and Sue Buddy could really pull it off. The thing is that these characters have all been established. We know from reading their tweets exactly what they would say and do in certain instances. We can predict their actions because they have become so transparent. You'd have your bumbling internet detective, your Kravitz, the fan who would walk around in a parking lot with a bullhorn and signs, the man-hater, one who had a celebrity living in her basement, the teenage fans who are enamored by older mother-figures, and so on. What an incredible line-up of colorful characters! Go for it, Sue Buddy!

Yes, the parents are educated, smart and financially comfortable. They are more palatable than Kate, for sure. But, they share the same common denominator as every other parent who uses their kids for money and fame, and that is, making money off the backs of their kids.
The little couple has accomplished what they *say* they wanted; to educate.

And make no mistake about it, his words were highly offensive. "[They're] bringing drugs, they're bringing crime, they're rapists and some, I assume, are good people." What a disgusting remark. "Some" are good people?!? The vast majority are good people, just like the vast majority of people all over the world are "good people." He is a racist, pure and simple. And the fact that conservative "news" outlets are outraged by his firing speaks volumes about them.

As a divorced mom who was, while not exactly piecing and patching, still very mindful of expenses I had a slumber party for my daughter at a hotel with an indoor pool. It was the easiest birthday party I ever threw, so I call bullsh*t on all of Kate's histrionics. I watched for specials and coupons (Remember coupons, Kate? We don't shop without coupons!) so the cost was not outrageous, the kids had a great time and I had no clean up.

What I took from that clip was the girls bitching that the boys had it better than them. Gee, I'll bet that never happens. I'm quite surprised the boys weren't turfed out of their rooms.
Remember that recent interview when TFW was asked what she considers a splurge, and she said spending money on trips for

funds all these little adventures. But we know that every penny
spent in tonight's show was part of the show's budget. Plus,

Donkey had no idea how many beds were in the suite? She didn't even bother to yell at TLC to make sure they paid for enough beds beforehand? AND WHAT A FUCKING NARC SHE IS!!!! Completely disregarding the girls' feelings and telling them that they're just tired, that's why they're upset. No, Donkey, that's not why. Whether the girls are spoiled or not, socially delayed or not, unhappy, unstable, miserable, whatever...the reason why they're upset is that they think there are not enough beds in their hotel room. Period. Not because they're tired. And because you refuse to hear them, because it's not convenient for you, they are learning that their feelings don't count. Pretty soon they'll wonder if what they're feeling is ok. (Feelings aren't good or bad, they just are). Then they'll give up and stop trying. Then try to find other says to soothe themselves that may involve drugs, alcohol, promiscuity, rebellion, ad nauseum. Those kids may act in an unappealing way (notice how uncomfortable their friends are), but it's the best they've got. I'm sure they'd much rather be happy and at peace but that might not be possible living with Donkey. Watching the Gosselins is almost as bad as an SPCA commercial. Those poor emotionally abused children. They don't deserve their mother any more than the animals in the pound deserve their fate.
In the sleep over clip, Kate tells the yowling, arguing girls that they are just tired, and to go to bed, and then shuts the door on them...did I see that right? Six eleven year old girls slept in the room without an adult present in a hotel room? Maybe that heavy set woman stayed with them, whoever she was?

I can understand an attractive, young, celebrity groupie following her crush around, wanting to meet him, being in the right place at the right time for him to notice her and for him to be interested. I do love UnREAL on lifetime, behind the scenes docudrama kinda of a dating show. Maybe they could do another season showing behind the scenes of a disintegrating family with a diva mom and abused dad and acting out kids.
The hotels all over the world, that they stayed at, all 3 countries, is part of Kates bucket list, and in her own mind world. I would love to know if Kate has more supervision from the court. On the other hand, I know that it is none of our business. We should not know the details of these hearings because I'm sure it is very personal for those children. There could be details we should not know about the kids if we really do care about their privacy. I truly hope the most recent custody hearing had some positive influence for Hannah.

From the descriptions I've read of the K+8 "specials", watching you do all these things, and keeping tabs on your goiter, would be infinitely more entertaining than viewing the dreck that TFW is putting out there. Just be very careful of that whole changing into the bathing suit thing. You may attract your very own Milo-esque whack-job.
Kate can't figure out how many beds she needs in a hotel, but the fans kiss her rear end in praise of her parenting skills, wanting her to come and help them, and to write a book on her organizationish skills.
I saw the clip: argue, argue, want, want, want, not fair, not fair, boys got bigger RM, boys got bigger RM. These girls do not know how to act in front of guests. I would have pulled all 3 girls out in the hall and told them this: If you do not stop arguing, complaining, right now, this party ends right now, we will go home! And as for future sleep overs, right now that will not happen. So what is your choice? That is what I would have done, and I think so would many parents out in TV land would have done that too. If they continue to argue, I would have gone through with , packing it up and going home. They also would be punished at home for ruining it for everyone else. At home I would have them sit on the couch, with hands folded, and quiet! for 11 minutes, and every time they continue to argue, I add 5 more minutes. They can sit there all day. Till I hear quiet!, and from that point forward, and I would explain this to them, for every time I hear you argue, fight, or yell, you will do a time out, in that fashion. Until, you get it in you heads, that I am not going to accept, this kind of behavior, any more. And by quiet, that means no TV, phone or ipad, you sit quietly. Just like they do in school. You learn to get along or you can sit there and miss out on activities. This is one of the only solution Kate has left.
I heard one tup girl say, that the boys all got their own beds, and that there is 4 beds. So does that mean that the tup boys only had one guest? That makes 4. Just like that one birthday, the boys had 2 guests. Another boring show.
Now Kate is going on about how she has accepted that she is 40, and that she is calm, and wise. HYPOCRITE!
Against my better judgment, I watched the clips. I am not going to watch the show. What we have here are spoiled, entitled, whining and complaining kids who should appreciate having a birthday party that they've wanted. "Normal" children would make the best of it and have fun doing it.
However, since these kids are used to a lifestyle that many would never be able to obtain, the greed is over the top. They will never be satisfied. Unless this is nipped in the bud right now, it will only get worse. What I saw in those clips are sniveling, griping, wailing and grumbling kids. I think that even if there had been enough beds for all of them, they still would have found something to complain about...the room was too small, the beds were too hard, there was only one bathroom, room service was too slow, and whatever else. When you're like this as a kid, it follows you through adulthood.
The fans, of course, will think this is funny and pass it off as typical pre-teen behavior. It's not. My children were never like this. Never. They knew better than to act like a bunch of ungrateful brats. They weren't raised that way.
Then again, this is all about Kate. What she has to go through. How she manages to deal with this on a daily basis. Guess what, sheeple. She created this mess. I am willing to bet the farm that the kids don't act like this when they are with their father.

It seems to me to be an excuse to check out of helping those kids transition into teenhood and adults.
Calm doesn't mean wiping your hands of the messy stuff like getting in the middle of their fights and turning them around.
It just gets harder and harder, and it seems to me that Kate is setting the groundwork/reason for the kids' every wilder behavior.
She's just too old and tired to lift a French tipped finger, being 40 and all.
I have faith that Jon doesn't let this kind of spoiled-brat behavior fly. He would always get down on their level and interact with them and help them deal with their outbursts.
"This is supposed to be fun. It's not fun," said one of the girls. At that point, I would have told them to gather their things because they are going home, and believe me, it wouldn't be fun there. You keep catering to kids and they will just demand more and more. Kate has zero parenting skills and these kids know it.

Against my better judgment, I watched the clips. I am not going to watch the show. What we have here are spoiled, entitled, whining and complaining kids who should appreciate having a birthday party that they've wanted. "Normal" children would make the best of it and have fun doing it.

That's what I think, in spades.
I think Jon is the organized one. I think Jon is neat and clean. It think Jon disciplines his kids in a constructive manner, even if that's a whole lot harder than just screaming and hitting them.
It pains me to think that people can have seen so many episode, over years, where Jon is loving and such a good father. Further, that the kids absolutely adore him and his soft, accepting love.
Kate has zero parenting skills and these kids know it.

I only have one kid, so I can't relate on a "mom" level with how I would handle more than one child and sibling rivalry, whining, and such. However, I grew up as one of 8 kids, and whining and fussing were most definitely frowned upon, actively discouraged, and if you didn't stop or take it elsewhere (out of earshot and sight of your parents), you would end up sorry. The rules were laid down early, older kids also helped keep us younger kids in line, and it just did not happen - certainly not at 11 years old! Just like you said tweeter, if we would have complained like that, the party would have been over, the gifts returned to the guests, and we'd probably get a spanking to boot.
As a parent of just one child, I admit that he gets a little more leeway than I ever did, and I do indulge him when I can. However, my son has always been aware that our family budget doesn't leave a lot of room for extras, and that if we have a big celebration or a trip somewhere, that means I've saved up and scrimped to make it happen. Bless his heart, he has learned to be frugal too, and to appreciate when we have the chance to splurge - like staying in a nice hotel, going to an amusement park, or anything else special.
It is really Kate's terrible parenting that has created this fussy, demanding, whiny girls. At this point, I guess they will just have to get out there in the world as they grow up, to learn that their behavior makes them unlikeable. Maybe then they'll learn how to behave better. Why oh why would anyone tune in to see these three whining, hitting, fussing 11-year old girls complain about their paid-for trip? TLC sure likes to serve up the most craptastic shows, don't they?

Yes, I was thinking about this. I can understand an attractive, young, celebrity groupie following her crush around, wanting to meet him, being in the right place at the right time for him to notice her and for him to be interested. I can't, though, understand why a middle-aged, mediocre looking mother with a weight problem, the mother of an adult son would ever expect any of these celebrities to want to "hang out" with her when they have their pickings of cute young women. It's just really strange. When you go far as to comment on male endowments, it goes from being disgusting to really bizarre. A fan such as this would be a great character in a book. It's all right there. You don't need to make anything up!

I agree. Bill and Jen Klein seem like nice people, and she certainly is educated and earns a good living as a doctor. Bill has some sort of business and I have no idea how much income he brought in before the show began - could be a little, could have been a decent amount.
Their two adopted children are indeed cute - but they are both young and photogenic. I am noticing that Will seems to have some speech issues and seems immature for his age. I don't know if that's because he's still playing catch up from his early life, or if there is some sort of developmental delay, or if I'm just plain wrong and he's right on target for his age. However, his younger sister seems more advanced in language skills and motor skills than Will.
That being said - I think that family should get off the air. They've earned quite a bit of money from TLC. I hope they banked it, but they both seem to be conspicuous consumers. They own several expensive vehicles, there was talk about buying a beach house as a vacation home, and their own home is filled with costly add ons and extras. I'm not jealous; but I am not a fan of buy more, buy bigger, buy, buy, buy!!! And I haven't even mentioned all the things they get for the kids, including motorized cars! It's just too much and that turns me off. On a recent episode, it also seemed to me that Will is becoming a little mouthy and bratty. Is that because they let him play up for the cameras? Or because the parents aren't stepping up and nipping that in the bud?
I used to think that Bill and Jen were pragmatic and would do what was best for their children, i.e., getting off the air and letting their kids have a private childhood. Now I'm not sure of that at all. I think Jen loves the attention, and loves talking to the camera almost as much as Kate!
Another country she visited is Canada. Not us here in Quebec, but Ontario on the Marilyn Dennis show. Being in Quebec could almost seem like another country. So we are at 3, that qualifies as many around the world doesn't it? Or is it just a few? At least it is not eight yet

The children aren't an adorable bunch of munchkins anymore. They are whiners, complainers and gripers. Who wants to watch that, other than the fans who think it's cute and oh, my, Kate has her hands so full raising these kids by herself. Children learn what they live, and they have lived with Kate's sense of entitlement, so it stands to reason that they have adopted this attitude. It makes me sad, and even though I do feel sorry for what these children have gone through under her control, I must admit that it's difficult to find them endearing.
I refused to take my dd anywhere for a year because she acted up. If she was good, we went, she had a hissy, we left, regardless, even while camping one year. She is now a great young woman, not talking to me atm, but a great young woman. She will come around. Apparently she is working on her temper, I sear that girl could go from blind to rage in .oo8 nano-seconds, used to scare the bejesus outta me

Millicent: I think Will had some hearing trouble related to his dwarfism and thus had delayed speech. He had tubes put in and speaks a little better now. I agree he is a little mouthy and sneaky. Zoey just seems to have a feisty personality. But they are both cute sweet children.
As for the girl tups, if I were one of the guests I would have been embarrassed to witness such a complaint-fest at a special party. Part of the fun of a slumber party is crowding in, making do, giggling all night, not wasting time arguing because there are not enough beds. Looks like they got 2 more cots and the other beds looked 'ample' to me. I agree, seems like the boys only had one friend. The girls are really out of hand- Leah was the worst in that clip.

Milo, you are one sick loose canon. You can LOL all you want, but there is absolutely nothing funny about kids who talk back to their mother, who whine and complain about everything, are rude and disrespectful and stand there with their hands on their hips arguing with their mother. This isn't just "pushing buttons." It's behavior they have learned from her and it's neither acceptable nor cute.

During the final credits for the Big 4-0 episode, Deanna was listed as the make-up artist. Tells me that it was a paid working trip rather than two 'besties' celebrating turning 40. What a shock! - said no one at all. Wonder if she's in the credits for the upcoming episode.

Thank you, yes two tornado warnings in about a week! We made out OK but down the road in Honey Brook it does look like a tornado from what I've seen. My friend sent me a pic of what looked like a funnel in West Chester too. So scary! They came on so fast, both times!
I forgot to add that I was in Coatesville and the tornado warning for Berks came in and I checked my phone and said uh oh, it's coming this way! Hope you are all safe in Berks and Lanco

Mady said she did not participate in any sport where you shared footwear. She came off really entitled and superior. I guess all the girls are learning from Mommy.

Kate can't say to the kids You misbehaved we're going home. She has signed a contract and those kids are going to keep filming no matter what. They probably know this and know they can get away with being brats. Also, kids naturally want attention. Being well behaved doesn't get you any attention from Kate.
I think the twins should have been excused from the tups sleep over. Were they there? They're old enough to not be forced to do everything the tups do. They could have stayed with friends.

I think it's telling that they were all so gobsmacked that the Marissa girl called up the front desk for cots. I bet they are never allowed to do anything for themselves like that.

It would be a real moral dilemma for me as a parent. I would hate for my child to turn down an invitation to their friend's party, but I don't know if I would allow my child to participate in the filming of children for money.
You know darn well that NDA's will be requisite, too.
That alone would have me balking big time.

Staying the hotel was just weird for a sleepover. For a masterminder, it makes no sense she would book a suite with a bed and a sleeper sofa for that many girls. I smell a set up to get a reaction from the unknowing kids. Another psych game apparently. Kate and the producer knew the girls would over react. And I feel bad for their friends who just stood by and watched the melt downs. Some fun sleep over.

The warnings really did come fast. I was doing some housework, the television was on when I heard the emergency alert system beeping and thought...what the heck. I switched to the local news channel and they had interrupted regular broadcasting to give updates of the storm. I think even the weather guys were surprised at this one.

In her mind, they got a free trip, accommodations, air fare, and that should be enough. She did not want Jodi to be paid and she made Jon a co-author of her book to take money away from Beth Carson. The only people she cares about getting paid are herself and Steve.

Exactly what I thought when I saw Deanna listed as one of the two credited make-up artists on the 4-0 episode. Deanna was working - this was not a pleasure trip for her. Also wouldn't surprise me if Kate considered the trip & the name credit as the "payment" for Deanna's makeup services with no actual money changing hands.

If I knew that my child would be chaperoned every minute and not let out of that person's sight, and if there were only a few in attendance, I'd probably let an 11-year-old attend a hotel sleepover, depending on the hotel and its location. Of course, I'd make her or him call me every hour!

There were 3 extra boys, so I think each boy got a friend. But she did a couch segment with all the sextuplets EXCEPT Colin, and what she explained about his "issues" was clearly something she was reading from a script. You can tell when she's reading vs just talking.
My first instinct about him going to a different school makes me think how awful for him to be separated from his siblings, but then I realized that's probably EXACTLY what that poor child needs. Being away from them, he might actually be recognized as an individual for a change.
The hotel room situation was ridiculous. The girls had a "suite" with one king size bed and one sofa sleeper, and the boys had two double rooms, so 4 beds total. Whoever made those reservations must have gotten in big trouble with Kate.
She keeps talking about how she can't believe they're 11 and going into 5th grade....well, Kate, my daughter is 10, won't be 11 til August, and she's going into 6th grade.
I was surprised she didn't pull out the old "rings" for all the kids to hold onto while they walked around in public.

As CS pointed out in comment #149, she slammed Jon for saying something similar about the kids(but he didn't specifically name them). He blamed filming for causing their developmental delays.

The school has already proved that they are willing to go to any length to accommodate a student's need. If there was an ongoing problem in this case I would assume there was an uncooperative parent rather than an unruly child.

I remember Jon's comments. They were not value judgements. Kate was wrong, wrong, wrong.
Jon was saying that some of his kids have special needs regarding their development and he would darn well know.
Value? What Kate did there was devalue the father of their children.
Their custody agreement is typical in that the kids see mom more than dad. It doesn't meant the father doesn't know his kids, or what's best for them anymore.
In fact, looking back on Jon's statement, it rings even truer right now.
Colin is not the only one. Other children (girls) have shown emotional and social problems for years now. Filming is doing them no favors.
Jon was spot on.

I think the school has done everything to accommodate Colin, but his needs can't be met there. I'm glad that a final decision has been made and he's separating from his siblings and going to a school that can better meet his needs, whatever they are.
I don't care how much more work that is for Kate. It's about time this happened.

I had held out hope that we see the worst of Kate's interactions with Colin and that maybe her interactions with him aren't so bad. But now, I don't think so.

There are benefits to having multiple vs. singles. Kate will never admit that, but you're right. One party, everyone at the same level/grade etc.
Sure, there are challenges, but there are things that are easier doing in bulk.

It was awful. I'm sorry I watched it. I caught myself physically cringing even before her educational announcement.
She keeps joking about having all these teenagers soon, but it's not a joke. The younger girls and one twin are out of control. I don't understand how Milo can talk about "the mother they adore" because they clearly don't adore her or even like her.
At one point, Kate was showing what a small overnight bag she had. Kate said, "I'm so impressed with myself!" She tried to show it to one of the girls, who said something nasty like, "So?" One of the girls was also nasty to one of the boys as he was trying to pack the BBB.
The chaos just goes on and on. Girls complaining, fighting, criticizing, talking back, having tantrums, making nasty remarks, yelling over each other ... If Kate thinks it comes across as life with preteens, it doesn't. It comes across as the result of terrible parenting, overexposure and cameras, and the kids parroting the way she has always spoken to them.
Oh, and for Sleepless. I remember now why I cringed once. Zorro was on Alexis's back near her shoulder and she reached back and grabbed him roughly, and I thought for sure she was going to break his legs.

Gee, we read about this child being picked up by his hair and throw in his crib. We've seen the photos of him being slapped in the face and we've seen the film of him crying from being constipated. Just imagine for one minute the abuse that went on behind closed doors. I shudder to think of how many times she hit that child on the face or head when no one was around. Who has problems, bitch?
Oh yes indeedy. Kate will most certainly paint herself as a loving mother regarding Collin when the real truth is she had no choice. I am happy for that little boy. Maybe, hopefully, the child will get to live with Jon.
This is a good sign. Perhaps more kids will peel away. Leah definitely has anger issues (gee, where did that come from?), Mady is entitled, and poor Cara is just shell shocked. It's unravelling, finally, and I do not find any of it worthy of a TV show.
Well, we'll see if any tabloids pick up on her announcement. I bet she is dying to give her version, which will be lies, but in the end this is excellent for Collin.
Oh, she did gush over her Hannie on Twitter last night. Things must have worked out for Kate with that one. Hannah, to her credit, at least turned to her father for help. More outbursts are to follow. Welcome to the teen years, Kate.

Sorry, I didn't finish my thought before I posted. If the school did make the decision, I would not see that as a bad reflection of the child in any way whatsoever. The school has already proved that they are willing to go to any length to accommodate a student's need. If there was an ongoing problem in this case I would assume there was an uncooperative parent rather than an unruly child.

Sees to me the reason she announced about Collin on the show because it was going to come out eventually anyway. This way she controlled the narrative. We are an insightful group and knew all along Collin has issues, probably from birth, considering the way Kate has always treated him.

Yes, it's been apparent that some of the kids have special needs and I can't speculate publicly, but I think we all have an inkling as to what might be going on.
Many children grow up with these needs and I think with the right environment, Colin will flourish.
I can only pray that this somehow forces Kate's hand to get the cameras out of his face, even if it takes a court order or professionals speaking out publicly.
The one thing that is clear to me: watching these entitled kids rant with their mother attempting to "act" with hand flapping, finger pointing and facial reactions is just bad TV. Hopefully many former fans are tired of this TLC formula. And no matter how many times Kate attempts to reinvent herself, the true controlling personality always reveals itself

The young girls are VERY aggressive. The leaning in, raised voices, hands on hips and finger pointing are bad behaviors.
I couldn't believe Kate stood there in the hallway and placated that bossy child.
Um, honey, you either stop this right now, or we're going home and I'm calling your friends' parents to come pick them up.
