I have to comment on the lack of emotional range of these young women. I know they were highly coached in the proper talking points etc, but their seeming emotional stunting was notable to me. Is it usual for survivors not to be able to put names to their emotions/identify how they feel other than to literally say "I was sad, mad, glad" ? Or is this something else and maybe just specific to them.

Well, if anyone here was thinking that maybe the girls were telling the truth that they saw this as a very poor choice (I known no one here thought that), this interview should Chang e their mind. The girl that broke down was clearly having a trigger of the original trauma. There is no reason that this coming up again would be a bigger trauma than the original event. This has all been swept under the rug, and a carefully crafted narrative has been hammered into their heads. I really wishethat Megyn had asked the girls what they remembered. There statement saying "we didn't know what it is" is not the same as saying "we do not remember", or "we were not aware that he was touching us". They may have been aware of, or, remember being molested, but not understood what it meant. I think that this would be likely for the ages of the girls that were interviewed. The rote repetition of the mantra that it was taken care of 12 years ago, Josh has been forgiven and changed, and he is not a molestat is a pretty good indication of the brainwashing, gaslighting and denial going on in that family. It is a very tragic, sick and twisted situatiin and my heart hurts for those girls who had their childhood stolen from them.

Denial can be a type of coping mechanism, but I hope they (and the others) have a softer, more informed place to land when the reality can no longer be squelched.

OT 're dogs: last night we had late dinner at family owned Thai restaurant we often go to, and ate on the outside deck . Server told us they were closing the inside early because it was their dogs birthday and the dogs were coming for a birthday party! Was that a later comment from Lena? All the articles I read described what she said in her book as at the time she said she was seven, she kissed her sister on the lips, and once touched her vagina. Experts said, eh, at 7, that's normal playing doctor, and you just need to sit down with her and speak with her, and most likely, she'll stop and be just fine.
If what YOU described is the case, that's a whole other disturbing thing and in that case I would expect more outrage.
That said, Lena does not try to stomp all over other people's rights, and she has never held herself out as virtuous. Quite the opposite. If anything, she champions the rights of others. I'm not a fan of her and I think she's a terrible actress and her show while funny at first got OLD in a hot minute, but she doesn't strike me as hypocritical. Isn't this just that old rumor that's been circling around for 2 weeks? It was invented by speculators that maybe they would try for the Duggar girls as a spinoff.
I don't know how much we can trust the eye witness that saw filming. They could just be saying that for attention knowing it will set people off. Or it could have been fox news filming some establishing shots that they ended up not using.
Plus with that family on the national radar right now I would expect more than one eye witness to report the filming. That is a huge story.

Yes, that's a quote from Lena's book and her twitter responses to people who felt it was molestation regardless of her being 7 and her sister only one year old.She says she was 'joking' about the predator part. The names were redacted in both police reports. But Jill and Jessa outed themselves. InTouch asked for it through FOIA and federal trumps state. JimBob is more concerned over money, over his own daughters. In his eyes, they defrauded Josh and are responsible for Josh doing this to them. Even a 5 year old little girl. Also, Jessa and Jill LIED about all of them being asleep when it happened. That is not true. Josh was reading the little one a book and was doing it then and caught the 7 year old in the laundry room and put his hand up her skirt. Josh Duggar is a pedophile. My heart breaks for them, for what they have went through and what those idiot parents have put them through. JimBob purposely let the SOL run out so he couldn't be held accountable for his actions.
They are getting heat because they did not call the police and get Josh out of the house immediately. They did not get him professional licensed couselling. Let me explain this to Kelly very slowly. Had just a random person looked at those reports they wouldn't have the first clue who was who. But random people aren't looking at it. People who know who the family is are looking. You simply cannot blame authorities for not properly redacting something when they DID properly redact it, but due to a source the media had and the fame of the family, the MEDIA figured out who it was. They said they had sources, they knocked on doors, and InTouch was pretty clear they were told exactly what this was all about before they even got the reports. Heck, InTouch could have printed a story WITHOUT these reports, just based on their sources. Then who does Megyn blame?

THEY brought this all up again. The story was starting to fade. Now it's right back to where it started. The girls interview set off yet another firestorm. Had they not interviewed the girls or for that matter the parents, this story would have gone away. They are loving every minute of the ratings while casting the blame on the public. I think like it or not, the Lena story faded in part due to her being female. Also her age of course. In most jurisdictions you can't charge a 7 year old anyway, so there's not much you can do legally, and Lena's had extensive therapy. The research is pretty clear that it's very rare to find a female child molester. Her behavior may have had more to do with being disturbed in general instead of a true sexual desire to molest little children. Lena does have mental health issues she has been very open about. She has suffered from OCD, anxiety and depression for years and says she has been medicated for 16 years, which incidentally takes her back to about age 7. As a child she was also a true hypochondriac. Her parents were both therapists, and had her in therapy when she was 8 years old. Yes, I agree about LD. Her parents acted, she was a child and I would feel children are safe around her due to her therapy, treatment and being an adult. But I still maintain what she did was wrong, and also it should not have been put in her memoir. Nor are the people who find the behavior acts to be of molestation and wrong, as well as her angry flippant attitude. Honestly if I found one of my kids doing that to a sibling or any child, at age 7, my child would be in therapy fast, and kept away from other kids or supervised closely, until the problems were actually resolved.

I've had this thought since the interviews. Let's say the Duggars were in my court, and the judge had at some point taken the children away. And we were now at the point where we were deciding, based on Mom and Dad's progress in their therapy and programs, whether it was safe to send the children back home. Whether Mom and Dad understood and appreciated what happened and had the tools now to keep their kids safe.
If they were still saying the same things they are saying now? They would never get these kids back. They just wouldn't. Those kids are as good as adopted by strangers. Gone.

I am thinking that the investigation resulted in manadatory counseling, and that is when they (finally) saw an accredited counselor (as stated in original interview). so TLC was filming around the time that they ere being investigated and in counseling.

Based on the evidence that's what I think too. It was an open case, with a judge, and the kids were allowed to remain in the home except maybe Josh.
And that's where I say I find it so hard to believe TLC did not know social workers were poking around. Moreover, if TLC is your family why wouldn't you share this with them? Let's assume they kept it a lock and key secret from TLC. TLC's necks are on the line, if anyone found out TLC looks terrible too. Just like they are now. It's very selfish to do that to your employer. This is not like you work in a toy factory and there's no reason to mention CPS is involved with you. Speaking of social workers poking around, PA has recently passed very strict background requirements for anyone who routinely comes into contact with children at their job. My dd will be a half-day camp counselor and had to get three background checks. One is the DHS, and her report says No Record exists in the PA ...rgeistry...listing the application as the perpetartor of an indecated or founded report of child abuse .
Even if DHS did not find child abuse with the reports, would she be listed as the perpetrator of "indicated" abuse? Or is that different than "reported" abuse?

Here's how dumb they are. Who believes that a licensed therapist is going to accept payment from a child?!
When you take you child to the doctor, or therapist, you fill out the paperwork, give your insurance information and payment information and sign that you are the responsible party for the child.
So, saying Josh paid for counseling himself is laughable.

I appreciate everyone's stories about their dogs and supporting them as they pass over to the Rainbow Bridge. I've helped several dogs go through this and I will always be happy that, at the end, they felt my hands, heard my voice, and saw my face. It's hard. Grief is the price of love.

When I first read the redacted report, I assumed the person who came crying was a victim. But when they said it was Josh who came crying to them, I re-read the report and it also fits if you put Josh and the male pronouns into the redacted part so it may be that the 14 year old who came crying was Josh, not a vic. Unless, the Duggars figured out that that would also fit into the redacted report and re-wrote history

I know Megyn was balancing not wanting to get kicked out of their home before she got her questions answered, but I wish she held the police reports in her lap and when they started lying point out what they told the police and make them explain that.
That's what I do as an attorney. Police report right there on counsel table, adverse witness on the stand, the second they start changing their story I flash back to the police report. We mourn openly when a close family member or a friend passes on but it seems like when a pet makes that journey we are supposed to sort of hide it and 'get over it' right away. At least that's my experience in life. Only other people who've lost their furbabies can understand how real that grief is.
Your story was comforting and of course now that we have this wonderful thing called the 'internet', we discover there are so many people who've had similar experiences with their pets after they've died. It's just so nice to know it's not really all that final.
I still don't believe none of the victims remembers nothing each time they were molested. I find it unbelievable that they were all unconscious during the assaults.
It also seems unlikely that Josh ran his peepants right to his dad every time he molested someone.
An expert commentator I watched this morning (and others I've seen) said that her concern is that with this type of incestuous molestation, the behavior generally does not come out of a vacuum.

In the girls' interview, Jessa was practically shaking with indignation at the thought that the public would think of her brother as a rapist. I saw the Duggars. I don't have much sympathy for the girls shown. They don't want it. There is poison in that family and I really think it has to do with their way of following their religious beliefs. IBLP established by Gothard, who resigned due to allegations by over 30 girls/women, devalues women and encourages strongly the isolation of their group, lack of education, and wants no critical thinking skills. It's a horror story IMO.
Regarding the pets again, my animals have been and are part of my soul. I shamefully say that I choose life even when I shouldn't, even tho I eventually have had to put to sleep almost all of my pets. Few have died with no assistance. My mother lived to 95, and wanted to live longer. My husband who died recently had an incredibly bad last 2-3 years (damned near killed me) and never once said to just give up. Yet I know many who have lived happily in assisted living. But if I can't have somebody just stay with me in my own place, I want to be out of here.
I do have guilt, and a lot of it, that for my pets, while I wanted them to have every good day that they wanted, I kept them a day or week or whatever, too long. Sometimes for lack of a correct diagnosis. I HATE incorrect diagnoses from both medical and veterinary doctors and it is certainly in my experience more common than the correct one.

Yeah, when they filmed before at Dutch Wonderland and the twins were 5 or 6, Kate mentioned it was young for them but they had to compromise when they also had the 2 year olds. I am male. When I was about 15 I babysat a lot. My charges were always boys. The first girl I ever sat for was a toddler. It was an emergency, so I went. She had a mild case of eczema or prickly heat or something non contagious. Her entire private area was involved. Her dad had some cream for her skin. Well, she was the first girl I had ever seen au natural. I had to wash and cream her parts. Once she healed, if you were to ask me if I would ever willingly return to view or touch her parts unnecessarily, I would have declined. It was interesting first lesson in anatomy and nothing more. I just passed by there today and for a Saturday, it didn't seem too crowded, but the tourist season really isn't in full swing yet because many schools haven't started their summer break.

I think that the Gosselins would enjoy Dutch Wonderland, especially the water lagoon, the plunge and the roller coaster. It's really not as babyish as it sounds. It's come quite a long way in the past 50 years. Its founder, Earl Clark, was a close family friend and when it began there was only a handful of rides that were nothing to write home about. In fact, awhile back, it nearly became one of those sad defunct amusement parks.
However, with the additions and expansion, it has become really nice for a scaled down version of the larger parks. Each season they add something new. I can't, however, see Kate enjoying it. It's just too much beneath her and what they have become accustomed to.
Wow, TLC must be pretty desperate if they're dragging the G kids to Dutch Wonderland. They want something that they can film quickly and cheaply, splice footage with the old stuff from 8-9 years ago, and put on TV fast. They're scrambling to fill the void left by the Duggars, but they're apparently not willing to put much money or planning into it. Really, Kate Plus 8? Again?
The problem is, people lose interest in the Gosselins very quickly. Ratings crashed fast last time K+8 was a regular show, and even now, K+8 has lost almost half its audience since the first special last year. The ratings for that (10th birthday) were about 2.4 million, but the ratings for the latest special were something like 1.24 million. People get sick of Kate and stop watching. 19 Kids consistently brought in 2-3 million viewers (more for special events). Kate and the kids could never match that. TLC can film the crap out of them, but they can't make K+8 a hit show. They tried before. They failed. And they will fail again.
I am also cursed with a photogenic memory. I have learned how to not pay attention too often, because the migraines were killing me. But if I do watch anything attentively, I can recall it word for word, clothes, inflections, everything. Thus I am careful about what I watch. TLC is not on the list

The media keeps saying the Duggars earn $40,000 per hour episode. I say they earn way, way more. First off, they have been filming regularly since 2008. Second they are TLC's number one show. And third, the filming is for at least 21 people. I don't know if the Duggars are required to put $15% aside like the Gosselins but if they are that percentage divided into 19 kids is nothing. And lastly, it is reported that Kate is earning $40,000 for her specials. I think the Duggars since they are have a regular series for the seven years and again are number one earn way more that Kate does today.
I think the Duggars have filmed at least 230 episodes. Jim Bob is a multi-millionaire just from filming. That does not include his real estate business, plane, rental homes, commercial properties, towing company, etc.

But if they're at the Double Tree, they aren't by the park. It's not actually in Lancaster, it's in Willow Street (that's a town). It's the old Willow Valley Inn. Why would they be there? That's not close to Dutch Wonderland. I would have expected them to stay at the Eden Resort right down Route 30, five minutes away in Lancaster, which would be much more to Kate's liking, and yes, they do have Kobe beef.
But what the heck do I know? Sheeple say the locals aren't really locals and don't even live in the United States!

Maybe they were doing more things besides Dutch Wonderland which is why the hotel wasn't as close as it should be to the park. Or maybe this was a last minute thing and the nicer hotel was booked for nine people plus Steve and crew. I have a funny feeling Kate is their contingency plan or one of them for summer episodes and this could be last minute. She must be giddy. She has all the luck. Five girls get fondled, Kate gets a TV show. God is toying with us. TLC is really digging back into the archives now showing episodes of My Mom is Obsessed from three years ago and Hoarding from two years ago.
The Duggar girls said they will miss their film crew. It's 2015. You can text or friend them on FB. You are wealthy, and can afford to hop on a plane and go visit them. You don't NEED a show to see them. Don't you think everyone in Hollywood misses some of the crew when the film wraps? But you exchange numbers and keep in touch if you met a kindred spirit. He probably did resign to save face. the advantage of that to the employer is that they don't have to worry about an lawsuit for wrongful dismissal.

I think he was cut loose because he's pretty useless except for his goody-goody image. Once that was gone, he's a liability instead of an asset. The sisters may think sexually molesting a 5-year-old child is no big deal, but I think it was a very big deal to his former employers.

Many of you Roundupers have asked The Ashley to recap the interview; however, The Ashley didn’t feel that a funny recap would be appropriate, given the serious nature of what the interview discussed.
However, The Ashley did find many of the things that Jim Bob and Michelle said strange and, in some cases, completely untrue, so she wanted to address some of those things for those of you who couldn’t watch the interview.
Warning: This post contains The Ashley’s personal thoughts on many of things that the Duggar parents stated during their interview. If you aren’t OK with that, you probably shouldn’t read what follows. There is absolutely NOTHING in or near Willow Street close to the hotel. I mean nothing other than a retirement/assisted living facility, and I doubt that they were volunteering there! Oh, wait. There is a McDonalds, a golf course, a frisbee golf park, a strip mall and the Willow Street Diner. You close your eyes and you miss everything.
Maybe Kate was impressed because Double Tree is a Hilton and the Eden is only a Best Western, but as a premier Best Western, it's much nicer than the Double Tree. In fact, many of the celebrities who appear at the American Music Theater in Lancaster stay at the Eden. It's a wonderful resort.

lol, admin. I was just about to post that. I was scrolling through the channels to see what TLC was doing and saw they were airing "My Mom Is Obsessed" from 2012. I didn't know that they did a show about Gladys.
They put locks on the girls doors and locked them into their bedrooms at night. That is so messed up. What if the house caught on fire and they couldn't get all the girls out? Then it came out that they HAD TO put locks on the bedroom doors because of Josh' out of control desire to molest his younger sisters.

In none of the tweets about Kate being at the hotel, did it say that she was at the Double Tree. Even the girl who said they filmed at the hotel she stayed, doesn't say that she works at the Double Tree, and it's nowhere on her timeline. So I don't know where the idea that they're at the Double Tree came from.
All we know from tweets, is that Kate posed with a guy who was at Dutch Wonderland. She was at a hotel celebrating birthdays, and she filmed at the hotel. To recap from the tweets:
