TLC cancels '19 Kids and Counting'
After more than a month in limbo, the network decides to officially axe the popular show and says it's committed to educating the public about sexual abuse.
"We spent the past month and a half in thoughtful consideration about what is the best way forward here. It's no secret that '19 Kids and Counting' was a really, really hit show. But we have some other great shows, both on the air and in the pipeline. " Marjorie Kaplan, group president of TLC, Animal Planet and Velocity networks.

You were on camera inviting him into your trailer for tete-a-tetes, for chrissake. The fakeness of it all just blows me away sometimes. Without the film crew standing by along with her flying monkeyman, Kate would never lower herself to sit down at any food court with her kids on a real shopping day. She would choke if she had to share oxygen with a crowd of mediocre shoppers.

Another back to school shopping trip? How original. I know we're all waiting with bated breath for that one. TLC just is not going to let this go. I have never seen anything like it. If ever there were a Phoenix Rising, this is it.

TLC is stepping up filming to fill the void left by the Duggars. This is why Kate was giddy, filming and a fat pay check. I would not put it pass that TLC will take Kate on a big vacation at the end of summer before school starts.
I really don't see what else they can film, except go down memory lane and rehash old trips, old ideas, they already have done a few. The kids are not cute any more, they come off as ill mannered, out of control, disrepectful children, who wants to watch that?
The only thing the Roloffs have going for them is the marriages, their divorce and nothing else.
The Little Couple have the 2 adopted kids.

Now they have nothing, though I think TLC will wait a year and bring one of the married girls back to TV.
Kate & TLC will throw many different angles at us to see witch one gets good rating and that will be what direction they will take Kate.
I do not understand all the political correctness. Why do the transgendered find it so necessary to announce it to the world? As a heterosexual woman I do not feel the need to advertise my sexual preferences to the world. Why is nothing private any more? I just don't understand it. I also think it is ridiculous that Jenner got the courage award. Just my opinion!

I agree. It's getting to the point that it's ridiculous. I don't announce to the world that hey, I like men! Jenner getting a courage award? I don't know about anyone else, .but when I think about the recipient of such an award, I think about heroes, people who have risked their lives in the service of our country, or saved lives against all odds, or survived a life-threatening disease by never giving up.

There is no rescue center closer to them. That's it. It's not that far away from Kate. We do have one here in Lancaster County, but as far as I know, it's not for bird rescues, only mammals. There's an avian vet in Smoketown (Lancaster County), who is absolutely fantastic. There aren't too many "bird doctors" around, which is probably why she took the bird to the rescue center. If they are filming the bird rescue, it would make sense that even if they were closed on the dates stated on their FB page, they would have opened up for filming purposes.
What a fun summer vacation. Watching your dog-hating mother act like she wants the dog around. Looking at her go nuts over a bird she wouldn't give two hoots about if the cameras weren't there. Going back to school shopping with creepy Skeevie along to make sure no one throws a cinnabon at them.

Reminiscent of the J&K+8 episode that was being filmed at same time Kate was giving an interview with some magazine. The writer reported that Kate was pissed that TLC wanted her and Jon to have a 'game night' episode. She bitched loudly about it and said something to the effect of "now they want me to play with my kids", like it was a real pain in the ass thing to make her bow down to do.

It wasn't filmed at Target, and it wasn't a local outlet. It was a nice mall (Park City) in Lancaster. I don't understand, though, why they would have filmed there (about an hour away) when the Berkshire Mall is so much closer. Perhaps they were doing other filming in the Lancaster area.

I guess the explanation for this tweet was that maybe Shoka wasn't being fully cooperative with the filming they wanted to do. It must be very confusing for him. When the cameras are there it's all "come in to my room precious Shokie" and when the cameras are gone it's "Out of the house you mangy mutt"! As I said earlier, wasn't it fortuitous that the baby bird was found on the ground and fit right in to the filming schedule. I'm thinking that someone found it and put it in Shoka's bowl for them to "find". What that poor thing must have gone through all for the sake of the story line.

For some reason Kate seems to go to Park City not Berkshire Mall. Even though the bus stop is in the parking lot of Berkshire Mall. The first store is Boscov's, a local dept store. Last I knew, Boscov's was still a good place to get uniform type clothes-the standard khaki pants and solid color polo shirts. I guess maybe it's not anymore. Maybe Kate pretends to shop and later the TLC producer buys everything.
I wonder what poor sucker had to go and find a robin so she could pretend to rescue it. What a bunch of a**holes torturing birds for storylines. There's a veterinary school at U of Penn in Philly so I guess we are to assume the bird went there. World class care for Kate's robin. Transgender has nothing to do with advertising sexual preferences or being politically correct. I just watched Frontline's recently documentary profiling several transgendered teens. It was really good. They found such sweet young people.
We are in a different time now than even a few years ago. These kids have lots of good friends, friends who know, and their parents are all so accepting and supportive. Doctors and therapists too don't tell them there is something wrong with them, they are positive, encouraging, and provide excellent care and support.
This sort of acceptance is all new for people and I think this idea that the public has finally said this is all okay, we're okay with this, is very liberating. It's like the old movements in the 80's and 90's when it was suddenly loud and proud to be gay. There was jubilee when that happened and now the same thing is happening to the transgender community and you can feel how liberated they feel.
Yes there will always be people who don't understand, people who are cruel and prejudiced, but that's like anything. It's just not the norm to be cruel and not accepting anymore and even transgendered admit that and are obviously relieved. We have come far.

I think the main crux of the question was if it should be disclosed very early on to the sex you are dating or going to date that you are transgender. That seems fair.
I think many people mistake being gay for being trans, which sets them back a lot. I know heterosexual men who simply love to dress in women't clothes and are attracted only to women. I know a few transgender kids and they are miles different from that scenario. Gay individuals are attracted to the opposite sex, but not necessary that transgendered are. However once they receive hormones their preferences may very well change.
Now for Kate. Can't stand another birthday or back to school trip. For the Duggars, I couldn't abide the older boring daughters special segments, weddings, and childbirths. I especially hated the gender reveals. I gave up watching them for that reason. One gender reveal in one too many for me.

Most transgendered people are not making a media spectacle of themselves. It has only become a media spectacle in one extremely high-profile case. The transitioning of one of the world's most well-known, accomplished male athletes to the opposite gender was bound to cause a media frenzy, even if Jenner had never been a part of the Kardashian fame-whoring machine.
I can't say for certain whether Caitlyn Jenner's true motivations are completely altruistic. I only know that "Bruce" Jenner enjoyed plenty of fame as a man, so the argument that this is all about milking the spotlight doesn't hold up. I can't imagine anyone willingly putting themselves out there to be held up to such intense ridicule and shame unless they were doing so not only to free themselves, but to try to educate a very judgmental public, and thus maybe make it a bit easier for other transgendered individuals to navigate through life.

She's never going away. EVER. (We can't go back).
She will film the kids forever, so might as well look for the positive.
1. Kids will have it documented, so it will be easier to get appropriate counseling later in life.
2. Kids have a nice home.
3. Great school
4. Theyve seen wonderful places they wouldnt have seen otherwise.
5. Some got braces
6. College educations paid for
And lets face it, its probably best to keep kate happy. She's an abusive parent, so keeping her happy keeps her in a better emotional state. The money flow also keeps her happy, so that might take the abusive techniques used on the kids to a minimum.
I feel sorry for the kids, but at this point i only hope that they all can achieve happiness when they reach adulthood.

Say what! If TFW goes in to a public place to film she's given up all rights to privacy. The only violations and bad publicity that I see would be if the store were to fire the employee for having an opinion and posting pictures of a "celebrity" in the store filming. One of the girls there (see pictures above) said that they were not told that they couldn't take pictures and customers and employees alike were standing around taking pictures and filming and is defending the girl that the idiots are attacking. Yup, bad publicity for TFW if she makes a call and gets someone fired And bad publicity for the store if they bend to her wishes. I don't really think TLC wants this type of publicity right now so maybe the fans should cool it with including the store on every tweet and egging TFW on because even if the store did something without TFW asking them to it's guilt by association. Maybe it's time for TFW to step up and tell her fans to cool it before ROL or another rag mag gets wind of it.

Yes, it looks exactly like that is what happened. They had a snack at the center court, walked down the Boscovs wing, entered the store at the inside mall entrance, walked right past the stairs and into the shoe department. It does look like the video clip was made from the steps, and anyone shooting a video from there would not have been noticed by the crew (or TFM)...at least not right away.

On what grounds do they think those tweets do not fall squarely under the first amendment? Public figure, public place. Do they not believe in our constitution?
My response is why don't they let Kate worry about her legal matters. Unless Kate says she had a problem and needs their help, why don't they mind their own business? I'm sure she has Marty on speed dial. She is a big girl and can handle filing lawsuits against teenage girls exercising their right to free speech.

As far as the defective detective being careful about what she tweets, I really don't think that's possible. There are those who are addicted and they are never going to change, even if the law comes around and bites them in the behind. I think that Passages Malibu or American Addiction Centers might be viable options.

But if you get a chance for casual conversation, you could mention training employees about this issue if Kate wants to film again. Celebrities walk into stores all the time. You have no right to privacy there. The general public has every right to say hey, X celebrity came in and they did and said this, this and this! They can even take photos if they want unless the establishment instructs them not to.
Do they ever read blogs or magazines? Lots of tabloids report about celebs in stores, restaurants, airports, all day long, and what they did. Example: "Josh Grobin seen in McDonalds ordering chicken nuggets and happily posing with fans."

If you don't want to be seen slumming it in a store because you don't have your face on and don't want it reported or whatever you reasons, send your assistant or nanny instead. In any of the links I saw, I never saw a single one that continued security footage. Nor have I seen a single sheeple reference to security footage or anyone here saying that. If you have a link otherwise, please post it. But you can't just throw that out there without a link.
It sounds like one of those things that has gone down the telephone line and gotten morphed into something it wasn't. I'd welcome proof otherwise. I saw several photos and they were all just regular cell phone photos which a customer, OR employee, has every right to take.
That said, it depends on where they got the security footage. Many stores have their monitors out there in public space available for anyone to see. We used to wave at ourselves as kids. If someone filmed that, I see no problem with it as long as it was in a public space. Unless you can tell from the photo that it came from PRIVATE security footage, it's a non-starter.

It specifically says that filming of KATE, which they call a "stunt" was "clearly improper." They say all of this before going into how other customers were filmed as well. You are right, they DO talk about other customers, but it is not the crux of their argument. They don't even get to it until whining about Kate for several paragraphs first. It also specifically tells them they should fire their employees, which is none of their damn business.

If you truly, truly feel that something immoral or illegal has happened, I understand informing the company. But to take it a step further and tell them exactly how to handle it, including that they should fire someone, is simple insane. It's not your business how they choose to handle it, and it's not your business to tell them what to do with an employee based on just some short video you saw on the internet, especially before the employer has investigated and they employee has been given an opportunity to defend themselves. Even if it happened exactly as they say, the employer may be much more comfortable with simply TALKING to the employee about it. However they want to handle it, it's none of their business or concern. I find it ironic they are all strung out about private people in the video, and yet want to tell an employer how to handle his private employee.
They would be a lot more credible if they weren't so darn serious and just said, hey, I saw this on the internet, I feel like maybe you should be aware of it. Not sure what it means or what's happening, I'll leave that up to you to do with it what you like, good luck to you.

I really do think that the security policy is that the store will not release personal information about customers nor will they sell customer information. I don't think that it extends to a fame whore filming in their store (which will be shown on national TV for all to see) and people taking video/pictures of said fame whore. How could a judge override something that never existed? She's never been ordered to stop filming any of the kids. There was hoping and dreaming that Jon would be gaining full custody of H and therefore she wouldn't be filmed, and that C's problems were so publicly announced to explain why he wouldn't be in future episodes, but so far neither hope has become fact. Unless Jon does have full custody and H either wants to film or Jon still doesn't have say over that or Katie is going against the custody agreement.
Either way it seems the Gosselin Eight will never be free.

I think Kaitlyn Jenner has more to do with the Kardashians marketing whatever it is that falls into their lap. They're good at it. It could have been anything, it could have been Bruce deciding to convert to Islam and they'd be doing specials and reality shows on it. Or Bruce adopts a child. Whatever, they would have marketed it.

No judgments were made, nor criticism of a transgendered person. I looked back over the tweets, and questions were asked by some who didn't understand why, with Caitlyn and Jazz going public, some prefer to put themselves out there for public scrutiny.
I believe the question came up when someone was watching Jazz on TLC and one of the parents there said it was "wrong" when a young male wouldn't date a transgendered person. The comments here were that not every guy would be comfortable with that, and to say that it's *wrong* not to date someone who went through or is going through transition, is just carrying it a bit too far.
I wonder if Tatiana's parents have gotten involved in this whole mess. This seems to be a case of bullying by the three musketeers. Hypocrites each and every one of them.

I think that Whoopi has come to the realization that it is in her own best interests to backtrack on BC. I think that she was strongly advised to reconsider her position because of public opinion.
