******* It pains me to say this, but I disagree. I don't think she brought blockbuster numbers, but I do think Kate contributed to the success of each of the shows' seasons. I do however believe her ability to draw eyeballs is earnestly decreasing at this point. I'll be surprised if this new season averages over a million.
I wonder if part of the reason TLC continues to film is the overseas market- they seem to be oblivious.

I can't discount it or agree with that either. I think it's too hard to tell. On almost every major show she's been on there's always been an ensemble cast. There's just no way of knowing whether she brought ratings to DWTS or Pam Anderson's fan base did. There's just no way of knowing whether she brought ratings to CA or Kenya was responsible.
When we look at her own ratings when it's just her and the kids, they're pretty abysmal so I think that's a pretty good clue how much ratings power she really has and what she really contributed to any of those shows.
For those in SoCA.....we're getting our first real rain in ages right now. I'm so not used to heavy rain it woke me up wide awake and I can't sleep through it. Funny how your body gets out of sync with sounds that were once so familiar.
Tucker's Mom - I agree with you about Paula and I have read about her phobias.
Redbird - I don't think Paula to,d him to put his head on her bosom in a sexual way. It sounded to me like she said "put your head on mamma's bosom". Still weird but that's part of her whole southern schtick - and I have had some old southern mammas pull me in for that same hug on they're very ample bosoms.
Other than that one dick dress time, I've never seen TFW in the audience so I think the rumors are true that she's probably not all that popular with the cast and crew. However, stranger things have been done for the holy god of ratings so there's always the possibility that she'd try to get one of the kids on. Hey, I've got it! They can do a whole season with nothing but Gosselin kids!
It must have grated on TFW's last nerve when they kept mentioning that the Atlanta housewife has six kids (because TFW has 8 dontchknow).
Boy, the first five or six shows of this season's DWTS are going to be painful to watch. There is always a contestant or two who are on for sentimental reasons that you just know are going to be one of the first off the show. That's fine, I enjoyed seeing people like Tommy Chong (his fan base kept him voted in each week), Buzz Aldrin, and Billy Dee Williams go on the show and have a good time.
This season there are a lot of people who just can't dance at all. I've never seen so many 4's and 5's out of the judges. It was pitiful. You would think the producers would at least hold an audition for the stars to ensure they have some dancing ability.
Of course there are a few standouts as well. I think the last four shows will be very entertaining. Bindi did very well and has an infectious personality. I did notice what may be a little nervous habit were she was mouthing the beat of the song. That could eventually prove distracting if she is focusing too hard on hitting her marks rather than letting the dance flow through her. I have nothing but praise for her dance this week and hopefully she will do just as well with the more technically precise dances later.
"they're very ample bosoms"? Sheesh, their, there, they're not the same and I really do know the difference. I shall blame it on autocorrect and the fact that it's very early here and I've only had one cup of coffee.

I hate to see a really great pro go after the first week because they got paired with a washed up star whose only goal is to try to get another 15 seconds of notoriety.

As for the Dancing With Derek Hough Show, I watched clips of Bindi and a few others online this morning. Sad. I thought Bindi looked awkward. Hey, I know she's just a kid, but she put herself out there for criticism. Sounds like a tie-in with Seaworld and ABC? I hate the appearance of backdoor dealings.
I have DWTS on the dvr, and will watch it today or tomorrow. I'm obsessed with Big Brother, and they have eviction episode tonight! Final four! Then another eviction episode Wednesday, final three! And winner will be voted next Wednesday! Out of the five left, I would not be unhappy with any of them winning. I think it's been a great season!
Admin (#2), yes, I woke up to the sound of the rain this morning, and felt positively giddy!
+++++++++++++++
Ditto here. Last week, after a few days in the upper 90s, with high humidity, when it finally cooled down and rained, I stood outside in the drizzle and just breathed it all in. It felt so good and I didn't mind getting wet!

I agree. I did not see it as sexual or vulgar at all. While I have no fondness for Paula, I thought it was just a southern thing, a motherly hug, nothing to get excited about.
Some of those dancers were extremely painful to watch and it kind of reminded me of Kate and the shopping cart. I have not been watching many seasons, but has anyone ever gotten lower than a four? I cannot even remember the last time I saw a four.
I thought Bindi did very well. The song was so appropriate, and she really had spunk and energy. I had no idea she could dance that like that.

This season there are a lot of people who just can't dance at all. I've never seen so many 4's and 5's out of the judges. It was pitiful. ------------------------------- Last night's episode of DWTS was different from the usual premier in that the contestants were clearly divided into the "stinkers" and the "promising/good". There was not a single score of six: the stinkers got 4s and 5s while the promising/good got 7s and 8s. The judges may have made a conscious decision to give lower marks to this year's stinkers, so the judges' marks count more. If the worst dancers get 6s and the best get 8s, there's not much separation and the marks can easily be overcome by the viewers' votes.
I was more impressed by the number of good dancers than by the number of bad ones. I think it's too soon to tell who will prevail from among the "good" group. Some celebs can do Latin well but not ballroom or vice versa. I think this year's winner will have to be good at both. Also, they get less and less time to learn the dances as the contest progresses, and picking it up quickly becomes more of a factor. Also, it's a real grind, and staying uninjured, energetic, and motivated can be difficult. All of the "good" dancers are relatively young, so there are no obvious weak links yet.
I wouldn't get too excited about Gary Busey's marks being higher than Kim Housewife's. They both stank, each in their own way. He was a hot mess, she was stiff and tentative. They both wound up in the bottom half, and fan votes can easily overcome any score difference.
The only shocker will be if one of the better dancers gets eliminated in the first two weeks instead of some of the stinkers.
I watched DWTS last night due to Paula and Kim. (I typically don't watch these type of shows. I was shocked at how horrible Kim was--reminded me a lot of Kate! She was THAT bad. Paula wasn't that great either. And I don't care if it's a 'southern thing' to grab someone's head and shove it in your cleavage, in these days of political correctness that's sexual harrassment-- try that in a workplace or boardroom and see how it goes over. The belch and undue comment continue to verify fir me she's just a crass woman. Blech!! Busey was almost as bad a dancer as Kim but at least he can blame part of it on being older. (Was Kim ever a dancer/stripper?) she was just bad!
Caroline, IA, Kim was as bad as Kate. They danced a lot alike. Both stiff & unnatural, with a frozen smile on their faces. Tony pretty much dragging them around the floor. Nightmare.
Thanks for the dwts comments! I usually dvr it so I can fast forward thru the boring posts, but I will definitely watch pauler deens segment! I'm so excited about it now! Sometimes the bad dancers are really fun to watch! Remember Cloris Leachman? She was partnered with Corky Ballas, Mark s father. She even pulled money out of her cleavage at one point to try and bribe the judges! She was not a good dancer, but very funny and entertaining. And Kenny Mayne who returns every season to do Dance Center, a takeoff on espn Sports Center that he is on. Kenny is an AWFUL dancer! When the judges critiqued him, he agreed and expressed sympathy for his partner! Very funny in a deadpan manner.

I agree. This wasn't a boardroom or a workplace. It was at her home, and I saw nothing that even faintly resembled sexual harassment about it. As much as I do not care for Paula, I will give her a pass on that one. It was a friendly hug, nothing more, nothing less and political correctness does not even enter into it, as far as I could see.

One or more of the non-fans has it and tweet it once in a while. She was in the DWTS audience standing and clapping. Weird photo.
Question for all of you who have been watching DWTS since its inception. Does Tony always get the ones who need to be dragged around, while Derek manages to grab the ones who show much promise for the win and can at least score well with the judges?
LOL! Sorry P.J. There's no way to put this delicately, but the dress she was wearing that night made her look like she was in drag and forgot to tuck.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I remember that photo - it was really weird. She must have a prominent pubic bone - maybe? And no fat around it. The dress was very tight and she had a noticeable "bump".
On TLC's FB page they are doing a big promotion for Feeding America, the same group that Kate and the kids filmed a full episode about. Yet, Kate is not a part of the TLC celebrities pushing this cause.
Kate is a twit said... 36 On TLC's FB page they are doing a big promotion for Feeding America, the same group that Kate and the kids filmed a full episode about. Yet, Kate is not a part of the TLC celebrities pushing this cause.
Seems like TLC didn't even consider Kate a "spokesperson" for this good cause. That, IMO, speaks volumes. September 15, 2015 at 1:21 PM ***** It is telling, but YAY all you child-exploiting parents, make your kids do a promo video for the Motherland! Boy, didn't they all look like they were just running in and out of frame? J+K+8 did do a music video, as strange as that sounds, and maybe TLC took a pass on this one!
Lighten up? Ok It might have been at her home, but it was for work. Unprofessional much? So a tv show isn't considered work? Her partner is a professional dancer. It's what he does to earn his living. How about a man grabbing a female contestant and rubbing her face in his junk?
I don't think her partner enjoyed it. From my viewpoint he appeared shocked. Would you like someone to grab a man in your life's head and shove it between her boobs? Very unprofessional. Sure, I'll lighten up.
I have not watched too many DWTS shows, but when they air the preliminary meetings of the contestants and the pro dancers, don't quite a few of them give hugs when they first meet?
¨How about a man grabbing a female contestant and rubbing her face in his junk?¨

Would that be a welcoming hug? ;) Apples and oranges.

https://www.yahoo.com/tv/dancing-with-the-stars-premiere-recap-season-21-129139820210.html ---------------------------- Thanks for the link. Without the ABC boards, I'm experiencing a DWTS snark shortage. ================================== About the marks: Kate got mostly 5s across the board, with a rare 6 or 4. I don't think you can really compare marks across years. Kim Housewife was just as good as Kate, maybe better.
About the partners: Tony always gets difficult ones. He only had Melissa Rycroft because his original partner was injured. And the both of the returning pros (Anna and Louis) got poor partners (Gary and Paula, the two oldest contestants in this cast by far).
Oh, good grief. Wouldn't you just want to crawl into a hole and die if any photos surfaced of you like that? That man junk is more than a pronounced pubic bone; that is a growth.

I don't think her partner enjoyed it. ****** I dont think Louie enjoyed it at all, and it was about as disrespectful as Kate telling Tony he didn't know how to teach her.
It's not that I'm looking for something to gripe about, the show should be overall fun, but it was just foreshadowing how uncomfortable Pauler was to watch. It's odd, because Paula goes from being bawdy and too self-assured in the liberties she takes with company, to this frightened "I'm so scared!!" granny person. I remember watching Paula's Home Cooking in the first one of her homes she filmed in, and this Paula is just a different person.

That season was the only time I watched DWTS. I was surprised at Katie's first dance as I expected much less. IMO she actually got progressively worse as the weeks went on.
DWTS currently conflicts with some of my PBS favorites: Midsomer Murders and Inspector Gently.
For any of you Sons of Anarchy fans, Kurt Sutter has another FX show starting tonight, "The Bastard Executioner". Looks like Game of Thrones meets Braveheart meets... Sutter's levels of violence can get to me, so not sure I'm going to watch.

Wouldn't that be natural, though...to be much more comfortable in your own home, probably sitting down to a country supper of biscuits and gravy and then finding yourself in the glitter and glamour of a television set with thousands of eyes upon you when you know that your dancing skills leave much to be desired and will be criticized? Two entirely different environments.
Or maybe I am not understanding your comment correctly. I am trying to figure out how to watch three shows tonight simultaneously! With television, it is either feast or famine. Sometimes there is nothing on and even Peppa Pig looks good, while other times everything you want to see is on at the same time.

illiterate re: streaming. I have a Samsung flat screen that is a few years old. Any help would be appreciated. ***** You can get a streaming device for quite cheap, like a Roku or Amazon Firestick. I have a couple Roku devices and it opens up so many more interesting options for viewing. I also have a dvr for recording.
I stream Netflix and Acorn through my computer and watch on my 24" flat screen monitor. If you have 4-6GB of RAM you should be fine to stream. Netflix streaming costs $7.99 mo., Acorn 4.99 mo. Nothing to buy or install.
Tucker's and Sue Buddy. Please consider me illiterate and provide more details. THANKS. My laptop is at least 10 y.o. but it still works and has all kinds of safety protocols installed by his truly. I also currently have other financial priorities.
DWTS...the jockey (Victor) -- when he met his partner, Karina, he said that his eyes are at the level of her chest and he tries not to look at it. Was that an unprofessional and inappropriate remark?
Can you check how much RAM you have? Right click on your start button. then click on "computer" then click "properties" and look for "system" You should be able to find your RAM there.
I stopped my TV subscription altogether. Of course, I despised the whole concept, paying for TV and getting bombarded with commercials. All I found myself doing was channel surfing. I saved a bundle and having Netflix and Acorn is way less than I was paying for "propaganda" TV.

Yeah, even go used on Amazon. It doesn't matter how beat up the device is as long as it transmits that's all that matters.
A lot of TVs have streaming built in now. Or if you have a wii or playstation or anything like that kicking around it will have it.

I think Paula is testing the waters to see if people are still receptive to her after the racism controversy and her exile from the Food Network. Once upon a time she was the sweetheart cook of the south with a great rags to riches story behind her. She was firmly established on the celebrity chef circuit and it went to her head.
I think being in the spotlight is like an addiction. Once people get that taste of fame they crave it. She still needs a fix otherwise she'd have settled back into the life of a successful restaurateur and walked away from the cameras for good. Some people just don't know how to exit the stage gracefully.

A web site I check out daily is lifehacker.com. Just saw they're offering two weeks of Blue Apron to their readers for half off.
If Kate understood how to be good at social media, she would ring Blue Apron up and see if they would offer the same deal to her FANS. But it's not at all about helping others get a great deal, she's only concerned about it for herself.

The thing is Paula was still cooking/promoting her carb-rich food all the while she was making a deal with Novo Nordisk. Then when the time was right FOR HER she announced she had Type 2 diabetes and was changing her cooking habits. The subterfuge didn't bode well with the public. That and the racism.
Paula's son had a show (he was in ny I think) where he lightened up Southern (mom's?) recipes. He wold ship them to Paula to taste test and at the end you'd see the 2 of them on the phone. IIRC for the most part her feedback was positive. It was not a bad show.

From the above link. Bolding is mine. The crux of the matter...Kim Davis is loving what she sees as the fame.
She could even quit her job rather than compromise her spiritual principles. Quitting would have been more in keeping with martyrdom because by definition it requires sacrifice with no hope for personal reward. But there’s no celebrity in that.
Every year from their birth until they were 14 years old, the septuplets appeared on a Dateline special. However, Bobbi and Kenny declined to go the reality television route and have lessened the family's media appearances as the children have gotten older.
"I really want us to be as normal of a family as we can be,'' Kenny said. "That's the best way to raise a family is just the normal, everyday things."
I just watched a little of the clip with the sound off (in the office). The kids look genuinely happy together. I'm sure they fight, but they seem to be each others' friends. Unlike you-know-who

http://www.today.com/parents/worlds-first-set-surviving-septuplets-turn-18-see-mccaughey-family-t44381 ***** Thanks for linking that! I had to run off to the farmers market and a few errands. Bobbi and her husband look amazing. Not exactly "de-aging", but they look far better than Kate, despite all of her surgical and non-surgical work. Compare Bobbi's genuine emotion (several times) with Kate's interview with Natalie Morales. Kate couldn't work up a tear to save her life, whereas Bobbi's face was flushed and swollen and her eyes kept filling up with joy. The kids that spoke weren't snarky and had nothing bad to say about their siblings. Wow, compare that to Mady. They were asked specifically about choosing to turn away from reality tv and the spotlight, and raise their kids as normally as possible. The dad said he knew that was the best thing for them. Amen. So, who's better off? The McCaughey's who live a mediocre life with their mom and dad, or the Gosselins, who live in a mansion, go to private school, travel and film as much as their mother can possibly manage?
The thing is Paula was still cooking/promoting her carb-rich food all the while she was making a deal with Novo Nordisk. Then when the time was right FOR HER she announced she had Type 2 diabetes and was changing her cooking habits. The subterfuge didn't bode well with the public. That and the racism.
**** Thanks for getting the gist of what I was cracking wise about, Auntie ;-)
From the above link. Bolding is mine. The crux of the matter...Kim Davis is loving what she sees as the fame.
She could even quit her job rather than compromise her spiritual principles. Quitting would have been more in keeping with martyrdom because by definition it requires sacrifice with no hope for personal reward. But there’s no celebrity in that.
====
And if she's still not satisfied with enough public exposure, there's always DWTS. She could squeeze into one of those revealing dresses as long as she's wearing her mandatory long-sleeved undershirt.
If Kate understood how to be good at social media, she would ring Blue Apron up and see if they would offer the same deal to her FANS. But it's not at all about helping others get a great deal, she's only concerned about it for herself.
***** True, but would her fans know what to do with the food...could they follow the directions on the recipes? BA's customer service lines would be blowing up with questions about freezing the leftovers, if the peppers need to be sliced in small pieces or large chunks and if the chicken is not fully cooked at the recommended time, should they bake it longer.
The name McCaughey might ring a bell for a lot of people, but I couldn't name any of the kids or pick them out of a line up. Another thing that stood out is that Bobbi heavily emphasized two things. First, when asked how they did it (raising sextuplets), the first thing she didn't hesitate to say was it was made possible by all of the volunteers and donations they received. Second, Bobbi credited their faith, and teared up saying it. Kate never credits the hundreds of volunteers and countless thousands who donated money, goods and experiences. Her faith also appears to have stopped knowing how to help her.
Compare Bobbi's genuine emotion (several times) with Kate's interview with Natalie Morales. Kate couldn't work up a tear to save her life, whereas Bobbi's face was flushed and swollen and her eyes kept filling up with joy.

Oh heck yeah it equates. Kate shows lots of emotion when she's talking about her kids but it's mostly anger and frustration. Her face does light up easily with pure love and joy at any mention of HERself, however.
The world is full of different types of people. Some show emotion easily, some don't. Showing more emotion does not equate to loving your children more. ****** I'm not talking about people in general. I'm talking about a woman whom I've been watching for years as she lives a very public life. Kate's greatest emotional displays are always when she's away from her kids. Ear to ear grin.
Just getting caught up on a couple of days worth of comments. ADMIN -- if you're still looking for a good show on Netflix, they just released season 4 of "Longmire". It's a great show -- part (modern) western and part procedural. "Longmire" is the sheriff of a rural Wyoming county. There's political intrigue, plenty of mystery, and and some family drama too. Excellent cast, well-written, believable characters, and very true to the books the series is based on.

Don't know if it was intentional but it's an FU nevertheless.

I just can't see the Today Show giving TFMJG, with or without her brood, anymore air time. September 16, 2015 at 10:18 AM ****** I think it was obvious that Kate was being alluded to when Bobbi and Kenny were asked about their decision to step out of the public eye (for the most part), not do reality tv etc. It will be telling if Kate doesn't do any press junket before the next 5 or 6 newly-filmed episodes air, especially anchored on the Today Show. All media is cross promotion, so you never know ;-)
"And yet, you don't "know" the septuplet's mother at all since they've chosen to stay out of the limelight, but have determined that she's a better parent based on one interview." (111)
One: Tucker's never wrote that, "It's not a competition". Two: Even without knowing the mother of the septuplet, I can easily determined that she is a better mother than TFW just by the fact that she chooses to protect her kid's right to privacy and by the fact that she never made them work to pay for her own life of leisure.

****** Thanks. I didn't base my comment on one interview, but through various interviews sporadically done by Bobbi and Kenny, and loosely following them over the years. 18 years later, they look to be in much better shape, and I believe that is based to a very large degree on the parents' decision NOT to pursue fame and money by selling the private lives of their children.
Based on results thus far, as Charlie Sheen would say, the McCaughey's are WINNING!
Also, it just completely shoots down the ridiculous notion that a parent would have to choose reality tv and fame vs. a normal job, in order to raise that many children (that are the same age).
All I need to "know" is that the parents made the decision to live their lives out of the spotlight. That's enough for me to deem her a better mother. Oh, and I didn't need to watch the interview to know even that. ***** I don't know Jenny Masche (now remarried) to know she's a better mother to know when to step out of the spotlight. Jenny and Brian and their shitshow of a marriage did a season or two, but after the marriage ended, Jenny moved on. She's remarried, had another child with her new husband, and they have a very large blended family. All without a tv show. Jenny is a Physician Assistant still. She's also a pretty young blonde mother. She's fit, had a boob job and tummy tuck. Many similarities to Kate, but she went back. Because you can. It's B.S. that you can't.
I think the families of HOM's are far, far richer than Kate will ever be.
I'm going to defend Paula Dean here. Her medical issues are not anyone's business unless she chooses to make it so. She did. Big deal. For Anthony Bourdain (who has filmed his show pissed to the gills, BTW) to call her the most dangerous person to America is a bit like the pot calling the kettle black. I don't for one minute think Paula Dean was selling her cooking as health food. If people thought she was, that's on them, not on her. Her cooking is not any different than Emeril Lagasse, Julia Child, Rachel Ray etc.
The racism thing is a whole other issue. I've forgotten a lot of that whole story. Was it because she used a racial term or because she lied about it? Quite frankly, I know a lot of people who say they aren't racist but if you ask them if they ever, in their lives, used a racial term or laughed at a racist joke, they would have to honestly answer yes.
And yet, you don't "know" the septuplet's mother at all since they've chosen to stay out of the limelight, but have determined that she's a better parent based on one interview. ________________________
The very fact that the "septuplet's mother" chose to protect her children's privacy and give them a normal life out of the spotlight speaks volumes as to who the better parent is.
Tucker's Mom (#119), it also shoots down the theory that EVERYBODY in that position would choose being on TV. You know, the whole, "YOU'D do it, too!" theory spouted repeatedly over the years in defense of TFW. Nope, some people wouldn't, and here's your proof.
I haven't closely followed news on the McCaughey family, but it would appear the parents have raised their family substituting good values over the lure of exploiting them to the world for personal gain. I seem to remember that two of the septuplets were diagnosed with cerebral palsy which must have added complications for the parents. I remember also how grateful the parents were for the help they received from volunteers.

bm ******* If there's any truth to this, Jeff Whateverhislastnameis is a smartish cookie. You'd have to have lost your marbles to join a reality show and have any reverence for the relationship you've just embarked upon. It's relationship poison.
How strange. Another parent who wishes to protect his children's privacy. I guess he wasn't jellus enough. I don't know how anyone raised a family before reality tv.
The trouble started over Labor Day weekend, when the source says Prescott got cold feet about filming Gosselin's reality show, Kate Plus 8. He ended up canceling production plans just two days before the New York City shoot, after months of planning and preparation. The source adds that Prescott is protective of his three children from a previous marriage and didn't want the increased exposure, so his team advised him against filming with Gosselin.
But problems in the relationship were already brewing over the summer, the source also reveals, when Gosselin became "frustrated" with Prescott's inability to spend time with her, while he traveled the world. It was actually on those travels when the COO and co-founder of Dreamstime -- a microstock photography agency -- met his new girlfriend, a business major. And his new squeeze, who's based in Belarus and New York City, is apparently no slouch -- the attractive blonde is fluent in five languages, the source tells ET, and has plans to launch her own cosmetic line this year.
@@@@@@@@
You know, Prescott could have really had an interest in Kate but for her it was all about adding a boyfriend to film. Once again, it was "masterminded" to add some drama to the show because she knows the shows are STALE. If the so-called source is to be believed, the guy put his family first. He got a taste of what happens when you associate with Kate and put your life out there. Kate's dream of a Kardashian Empire is NEVER happening.

I agree with the other posters. She is not pimping out her kids by putting them in a circus act to support her family. Does she practice the fine art of grifting by continuing to get freebies just for the asking? I have no idea, but somehow I really doubt it. The quest for fame and fortune on the back of her kids just does not fit her persona, and yes, that does make her a better parent than Kate. Hands down.

______________ If they have broken up, does this mean that there is still hope for Gladys?
I don't know why the girlfriend was included except to put Kate in the position again as "the woman scorned" by her cheating man. His decision not to film because of his family was a good enough reason (if that is the truth). Nothing good was going to come out of associating with Kate. He may or may not have had an affair, but nobody thought Kate and Prescott were serious anyway. It was obvious the pap photos of them on a date was a setup. It was all a buildup to include him in filming. By golly, Kate was darn well going to have her dating show!

And so much for the nonsense about setting up a non-profit to benefit single mothers. Her entire life is an invention at this point, there is nothing even slightly real about Gosselin reality.
And the reporters still haven't figured out how old this guy actually is. WTF?
"Does it pretend-hurt when you're pretend-dumped by your pretend-boyfriend?"
Of course it hurts, P.J. So people can pretend-care about your pretend-pain, you have to poke your eyes even harder than usual to produce a LOT more real crocodile tears. One solution to take your mind off the pretend-hurt is to throw yourself in your pretend-work and hit the tanning bed
Those poor kids can't get a break. So far we know of the back to school filming in the department store, the Destin trip, and now New York City during Labor Day. I can only pray for their sake that filming is over until at least Christmas to allow them time to focus on their school work. Colin in particular needs stability in his life as he adjusts to school separate from the rest of the group.
What's worse in Twitter trending- Justin Beiber has your angry hedgehog haircut, or you've been dumped for a 24-year old chippie? Hmm...close call.

He was on Ellen yesterday and wore a baseball cap the entire time. I was laughing because I figured her was embarrassed by his Kate Angry Porcupine haircut.
Nice to read that this guy is protective of his children and didn't want the exposure filming would bring. I can't help wonder however, if TLC planned on including him, why he was to be included in the first place. Could it be they were supposed to be outed as a couple as part of the show and that is why he got cold feet.

Does it pretend-hurt when you're pretend-dumped by your pretend-boyfriend? *********************************************** good one! Let's ask the pretend mom
So, when Kate said she and Prescott were working on a business deal together, the business deal involved him posing as her boyfriend so she could have a storyline for filming. K+8 is stale, the ratings have dropped steadily, so she decided that adding a man to the mix would save it. There would be the drama of introducing the man to her kids and him trying to win their acceptance, there would be lots of relationship drama between him and Kate, and eventually there would be a break-up, which would allow her to try to reclaim the popularity of her divorce days. Now it's just her b$tching at the kids and the kids whining and crying and fighting, just like before. That got really old, really fast.
I wonder how TLC is feeling--they might have agreed to more filming, thinking they could use this relationship to revive interest in the show, and then got stuck with the same, tedious old crap that wasn't working in the first place. They totally deserved it. Suckers!
There are quite a few articles surfacing like this. I read some of them yesterday. People who donated are really pi$$ed, I guess they are finally waking up to this scam, but it is a bit too late for those who gave their money. Live and learn. I guess we can assume that the funds are not being used tot get him a shave, scrub him down and get him some clean clothing, I have never seen him look groomed, not even at the recent wedding.
Have the tweeties checked in with TFW to get confirmation or denial of this blockbuster (yawn) story? I'm sure there's one person with fingers crossed that it's true, so she can gently console TFW and tell her to wait for someone worthy of her -- offering platitudes aplenty and a shoulder to cry on.

Fleecing, goot point--if he signed any contracts, that could be a problem. Maybe. Let's say he did sign something, and TLC sued him. The truth--that they contracted with some guy to be a fake boyfriend for what they are calling a reality show--might not be good for business. That would alert everyone that this story line was fake, that their supposed "reality" shows are scripted lies…I don't think they would want to do that. They might just keep their mouths shut.
I think it was smart for this guy to back out. Look at the way Jon was (and still is) vilified for splitting with Kate. This guy could be in for the same treatment, the same bad press, that Jon got. He is smart for looking at that whole mess and deciding he doesn't want to put his children--or himself--through that. Consider the nastiness still being directed at Jon after 6 years. Nobody needs that.
Wow, imagine…someone linked to Kate who actually puts his children first. I'm sure she's still scratching her head and saying, "I don't get it".

Hey @Kateplusmy8: You were dating and didn't tell us? ;)
Right. She OWES you this information, plus all the sordid details. Apparently you missed that photo of the two at the restaurant, lovingly gazing into each other's eyes.
I think that she addressed this on Twitter and said that she had one date. Slow on the uptake, Lauren?
The tabloids are saying Kate is devastated by Jeff dumping her. I think the only thing she is devastated by is the fact that he wouldn't agree to film. That has got to have her so pissed off because she probably thought that the story line of Kate and her new man was going to be her resurrection from the ashes of what was her reality show career.
I don't mean to discuss politics.....but since it relates directly to Kim Davis. Huckabee is up there saying the Supreme Court has no power to make a law about gay marriage.
Maybe or maybe not, but he doesn't understand that's not the point. The point is, they DID. Whether they had the power to doesn't matter when it comes to Kim Davis following the law. If you think they didn't have the power to do that, use the political process. But individuals can't go around deciding what laws are constitutional and what are not and pick and choose which ones they feel are okay to follow. We as a country have decided that for the justices to decide. Not individual Americans. I'm sorry but he's a nut. What he's advocating for is anarchy, pure and simple.
I don't buy that Kate and that Prescott guy were dating but I buy into the idea that he and Kate had been cooking up a way to get him onto the show as a dating prospect that they both wink-wink know is not really her boyfriend. We have proof they had some kind of dinner together. It was probably a business meeting. Kate even said something about it being business. Yeah the fake boyfriend business! When the rubber met the road he realized what a mess reality TV is and bailed. Makes a lot of sense.
Kate is smart enough to know the old format is stale and boring. She's smart enough to know it might be a good idea to mix it up with a man. Problem is, she can't get one. Lol.
I think the only thing she is devastated by is the fact that he wouldn't agree to film.
----------------
Jon would not agree to film with her either. What she wants is a man (or a woman!) to film and resurrect the show. Her best laid plans of mice and men just is not working out for her. I guess the men in her life just value their balls too much.
It was an excellent read. I was curious about the author; could it really be THAT Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

Oh, and I'm sure Kate hates his take on this one: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar: Not Everyone in the Village Is Worthy of Raising a Child
He's talking specifically about athletes but the greater point is that we create heroes out of celebrities when there are some really bad people out there who are celebs. Yep. He says we should just honor celebs for what they do specifically i.e. for a basketball player scoring points, and not who they are as people because they aren't necessarily as awesome at life as they are at scoring points.
Maybe Jeff Prescott is Milo! That would explain the silence...LOL
As good an explanation as any! That would explain the interest in TFW's body. And the lack of interest lately, if Jeff got himself a new girlfriend. Lol.
Interesting that even TFW's fame and fortune couldn't keep the guy. Further proof that not everybody would do it if they could.
This guy had the perfect opportunity and he *still* turned it down.

I bet there was something in it for Prescott like maybe promotion for his pretend-charities. Maybe she thought she could pretend-volunteer for another pretend giving back episode.
I bet Jeff Millionaire has a ton more business sense than TFW. He probably weighed the pros and cons of the deal -- er, I mean, romance -- and decided he wasn't getting what he wanted. TFW is usually the curb kicker, not the curb kickee. Guess she didn't know how to help him!

It pains me to say this, but I disagree.

HA. Classic!
All in all, I enjoyed the show. What say you Joy?

Great article thanks for posting. I'm quite pleased to discover that many, dare I say most, Christians are calling this like it is.
Unlike "all moms" we don't have to stand together with someone who is being a pill.
"they're very ample bosoms"? Sheesh, their, there, they're not the same and I really do know the difference. I shall blame it on autocorrect and the fact that it's very early here and I've only had one cup of coffee.

****
Yup, there were standouts, but the amount of awful dancers plus zero draw is painful this year.
I hate to see a really great pro go after the first week because they got paired with a washed up star whose only goal is to try to get another 15 seconds of notoriety.

I noticed that, too. I bet she can overcome it.

Admin (#2), yes, I woke up to the sound of the rain this

+++++++++++++++
Ditto here. Last week, after a few days in the upper 90s, with high humidity, when it finally cooled down and rained, I stood outside in the drizzle and just breathed it all in. It felt so good and I didn't mind getting wet!
++++++++++++++

-------------------------------
Last night's episode of DWTS was different from the usual premier in that the contestants were clearly divided into the "stinkers" and the "promising/good".
For those who missed DWTS, here is a humorous recap that will tell you everything you need to know:

Southeners - we're huggers!! That's our best and most common greeting.
#19 undue- underwear
Some typos, please overlook!

Again, pains me to say this, but Kate looked almost elegant during her first dance compared to Kim. I was also surprised at how bad she was.
I haven't watched her show in years, but she doesn't strike me as someone who buckles down and puts her (surgically enhanced) nose to the grindstone.

Cloris is an incredibly talented comedienne. A true trail blazer who is right up there with Carol Burnett, but never got the honor she deserves. She was a great cast member on DWTS!

Question for all of you who have been watching DWTS since its inception. Does Tony always get the ones who need to be dragged around, while Derek manages to grab the ones who show much promise for the win and can at least score well with the judges?

I remember that photo - it was really weird.

Seems like TLC didn't even consider Kate a "spokesperson" for this good cause. That, IMO, speaks volumes.

It might have been at her home, but it was for work.

Thanks for the link. Without the ABC boards, I'm experiencing a DWTS snark shortage.
==================================
About the marks: Kate got mostly 5s across the board, with a rare 6 or 4.

I dont think Louie enjoyed it at all, and it was about as disrespectful as Kate telling Tony he didn't know how to teach her.

Are there any good police dramas on Netflix right now? Or crime?

Yeah, even go used on Amazon. It doesn't matter how beat up the device is as long as it transmits that's all that matters.

For some people there will never be enough money or fame. It follows the principles of typical addictive behavior to a T. Paula has no shame, which is classic addict behavior.

Yes or whenever a situation comes up where they need some filler. Another scandal, etc. TLC uses more filler than Kate does sometimes.

Yes! It has to be the fame more than the money. Paula is mega-wealthy and could live the rest of her life very fully without another camera, yet she keeps trying to rehab her image.
I think you have to balance the lengths to which you're willing to go, with your dignity.

Thanks for linking that!
*****
True, but would her fans know what to do with the food...could they follow the directions on the recipes?
Her faith also appears to have stopped knowing how to help her. 902
Katie sold her soul to TLC. Her faith is in fame and money.
Interesting story on religious freedom in the workplace, for what it's worth.

I think it was obvious that Kate was being alluded to when Bobbi and Kenny were asked about their decision to step out of the public eye (for the most part), not do reality tv etc.

Thanks.

I don't know Jenny Masche (now remarried) to know she's a better mother to know when to step out of the spotlight.

Oh, holy sh*t, I needed that laugh today!

Hands down.

===================
Does she also have a belly button?
Suckers!
So Kate can't even pay a man to be her boyfriend? Ouch. If she were capable of feelings, that would hurt.

She can't find it. One of the kids peeled it off.
I wonder if, when Rat Claws Part Deux told her he wasn't filming, he got to witness the Wrath of Khate. That would be epic.
Oh and over the Labour Day weekend? That was a week and a half ago, so, ahem, how long has he been seeing his Belarussian babe?
I agree. Derik needs to man up and groom up!
She can't find it. One of the kids peeled it off.
She never should have fooled around with that darn globe.
She cannot find the location. Where is it? Something that starts with a B. Bengal? Benghazi? Burma? Botswana? Bahrain? They all sound the same to her!
The Twitter BOTS are working overtime on this one!

One of the kids peeled it off.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Oh, she knows exactly which kid did peel it off but she let an innocent child take the blame and didn't even apologize to him about it.
An earthquake in Chile has been upgraded to a 8.3!
Tsunami warning for Hawaii.
------------------------
Was it upgraded to a warning? Last I heard it was a watch.
The tabloids are saying Kate is devastated by Jeff dumping her. I think the only thing she is devastated by is the fact that he wouldn't agree to film. That has got to have her so pissed off because she probably thought that the story line of Kate and her new man was going to be her resurrection from the ashes of what was her reality show career.
I don't mean to discuss politics.....but since it relates directly to Kim Davis. Huckabee is up there saying the Supreme Court has no power to make a law about gay marriage.
Maybe or maybe not, but he doesn't understand that's not the point. The point is, they DID. Whether they had the power to doesn't matter when it comes to Kim Davis following the law. If you think they didn't have the power to do that, use the political process. But individuals can't go around deciding what laws are constitutional and what are not and pick and choose which ones they feel are okay to follow. We as a country have decided that for the justices to decide. Not individual Americans. I'm sorry but he's a nut. What he's advocating for is anarchy, pure and simple.
Maybe Jeff Prescott is Milo! That would explain the silence...LOL
I don't buy that Kate and that Prescott guy were dating but I buy into the idea that he and Kate had been cooking up a way to get him onto the show as a dating prospect that they both wink-wink know is not really her boyfriend. We have proof they had some kind of dinner together. It was probably a business meeting. Kate even said something about it being business. Yeah the fake boyfriend business! When the rubber met the road he realized what a mess reality TV is and bailed. Makes a lot of sense.
Kate is smart enough to know the old format is stale and boring. She's smart enough to know it might be a good idea to mix it up with a man. Problem is, she can't get one. Lol.
Jon would not agree to film with her either. What she wants is a man (or a woman!) to film and resurrect the show. Her best laid plans of mice and men just is not working out for her. I guess the men in her life just value their balls too much.
It was an excellent read. I was curious about the author; could it really be THAT Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
&&&
He is a REALLY smart, common sense man. He's been writing opinions for awhile now. I don't agree with everything but most of them are great.
Oh, and I'm sure Kate hates his take on this one: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar: Not Everyone in the Village Is Worthy of Raising a Child
He's talking specifically about athletes but the greater point is that we create heroes out of celebrities when there are some really bad people out there who are celebs. Yep. He says we should just honor celebs for what they do specifically i.e. for a basketball player scoring points, and not who they are as people because they aren't necessarily as awesome at life as they are at scoring points.
As good an explanation as any! That would explain the interest in TFW's body. And the lack of interest lately, if Jeff got himself a new girlfriend. Lol.
Interesting that even TFW's fame and fortune couldn't keep the guy. Further proof that not everybody would do it if they could.
This guy had the perfect opportunity and he *still* turned it down.
Yup, with his money and her masterminding, she stood to cash in. Or her money and his masterminding. I think it was a case of two grifting ships passing in the night.
Yes, but what about her charming personality? That should have captured his heart from the get go.
ha!
I doubt he even called her again after their first and only 'date'.
Please, source exclusively telling ET, just stop it already.
I bet there was something in it for Prescott like maybe promotion for his pretend-charities. Maybe she thought she could pretend-volunteer for another pretend giving back episode.
I bet Jeff Millionaire has a ton more business sense than TFW.
He probably weighed the pros and cons of the deal -- er, I mean,
romance -- and decided he wasn't getting what he wanted. TFW
is usually the curb kicker, not the curb kickee. Guess she didn't
know how to help him!
Why am I hearing Manilow singing...
We're still here
It's just that we're out of sight
Like those ships that pass in the night
We're just two ships that pass in the night:
And we smile when we say it's alright
We're still here
It's just that we're out of sight
I don't want to 'go there' but why do many of the comments center around the condition of her nether regions after delivering the sextuplets 'naturally'? Don't they know about the 52fuckityhundred weeks of bedrest followed by a C-section that Hershey Medical Center wouldn't let them film?
