P.J......She actually included a recipe for applesauce in a cookbook? Oy vey!
And why is she peeling the apples? I should sell her my recipe for pink applesauce. SMH
"..".........
Those apples are too waxy to be from her tree. If there even is a tree. Plus, one of them appears to have a store sticker on the top. She really is a stupid woman.

I thought that too, but was giving her the benefit of the doubt. Oh, what am I saying? She's the lying liar who lies.

Most people who don't have apples trees go apple picking with the family or to a farm stand. Stupid is......
ead the comments from 120 to 124. That's where the error was made. **** Ok. Gotcha I still think the questions were all pre-approved. It was a sneak peek at future shows /spinoffs. They were more than happy to respond, especially Jeremy, he loves camera and spewing his "oh so wise " wisdom and knowledge.

She might have picked a few apples from her tree and added them to the store-bought ones in the photo when she made the applesauce, so why doesn't she show the home grown ones instead?
Geez for someone who lies as much as she does, you'd think she'd be good at it by now. But no.
It appears we will be needing more rumspringa than normal, so here is my plan:
When the pool boys are available ( that means NOW!), they will make a circle of our barrels, and we fine ladies under the verandah, including readerlady who will put down her gossip book, will form a Congo line, armed with our drinking hat-tiaras, made by Auntie and properly festooned with all kind of nice sparkly things.
We will then start dancing, holding onto the shoulders of the girl in front of us, and, yes, MikeB is considered a girl here, and we will all sing this, and decide whom is who... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QvsQ9hYKq7c
Got it?
Can I hear a second, a third and a motion passed before Trump becomes President and Beiber comes back to Canada?
Has she EVER mentioned before that she has an apple tree? Plus her recipe says she prefers Golden Delicious. She would be far more likely to print "I prefer organic (apple type) from the tree in my backyard." Organic apples are very hard to grow, and quite a lot is lost to bugs and disease. No pictures of her kids picking said apples? Curious and curiouser.

What the heck? Years being at that house and she never mentions the apple tree.
Any apples are hard to grow, especially organic. Birds eat them alive if you don't net them, for one. It's hard working putting up and tearing down the netting year after year. If she has an apple tree, which I doubt she does, somebody else is paid to tend to it. Maybe the landscapers.
Not to mention this interview was done by TLC. Just like tfw answered questions SHE obviously approved every single time they'd promote "your questions answered" no question she got the final say as to what would get asked. The roloffs should be addressing Jacobs issues because, well he's gone rogue. But not a single question about why he's gone. No opportunity to clarify the Internet rumors, the drug use etc. They drew the line there. The 25 yr old newlyweds agreed to the questioning. And she was pretty polite in her questioning, I didn't find her rude at all. It's reality TV. We've watched them grow up, get girlfriends get married, the next "logical reality TV scenario" is babies. And yes, a legit question about worries re: babies with dwarfism, the health issues could be plenty.
Kate has an apple tree, maybe more than one. When Kate was BFFs with Gina Nield, pictures were published with Gina, Steve and Kate checking out the apples from her trees. That was shortly after the divorce and the Nields and their sons came for a weekend visit.
Those aren't apples from a tree in the yard! We've always had apple trees and they look nothing like those. The ones in the photo have the wax/shine that grocery stores use to make them look more appealing (pun intended). My apples are rough and totally not shiny on the outside, and neither are the ones in the orchard down the road, and they do not have white stickers on them. She is a first-rate doofus.
Oh, thank gawd. I'm gonna need a "Mommy" Spa Day, what with our new yellow lab girl keeping me running around like crazy! Oh, in fact, I'm making 8 fuckety billion dog biscuits right now! Gonna put them in the freezer later! --------------------------------------------------------

um, OH YEAH! 2 feet in a barrel to squirrel away enough rumspringa for the long winter
Poor schmoopy tried so hard to arrange a nicely composed recipe photo like a real professional. Of course in real life you don't put kitchen tools directly on the cookbook or even put the cookbook that close to watery sticky apples for fear of getting it all grimy. #fail
Awww where I grew up, we had a U-shaped driveway with three apple trees in the yard in the middle. Those apples! Fell and rotted every year. Oh well. I did run cross country and we ran to an orchards with really good apples and ate them, though
(Leslie) Tucker's Mom said, "Oh, in fact, I'm making 8 fuckety billion dog biscuits right now! Gonna put them in the freezer later!" _____________ Can I have the recipe? Do they freezer well? How long do they freezer for? Do you have to defrost them before giving them to the dog? Is it your recipe or did you get it from somebody? O,K. I am out of questions. I was pretending to be a stupid tweeter follower of Kate. I don't have a dog, but the recipe may be a good idea to post. There are probably some that would like to make it. You a good mommy Tucker's Mom. And if I recall right, you don't have any children...other than the four-legged variety!
"Little People, Big World" star Jacob Roloff is turning on the show ... or he's turning on his parents -- it's unclear -- but he's definitely pissed about money. Jacob posted a message saying, "Man I wish it didn't feel like I was getting fu*ked out of the money from the show that was my childhood right now."
(Leslie) Holy cow! I went to Kate's twitterfeed and saw her photo and post about making applesauce. She DOES have a apple that is bought from a store. What a lying liar. She is so stupid. Did she not see the label on the apple before posting it with saying the apples are from her tree.
Oh that goof probably only knows how to make mashed bananas.
==========
What? No frozen bananas on a stick, dipped in chocolate? That goof needs to expand his horizons, try something different, perhaps even google some recipes using coconut rum!

But does her apple tree put a shine on her apples and a sticker before she picks them?
I went to other blog that hold KIG as a goddess and was impressed they are actually starting to think critically. I also noticed a couple of names from here who post there, but as I read the posts, I realised we ae ALL right in our thoughts, so I sent them this song ( yes under my real name, I do not hide, EVAH)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q7yCLn-O-Y0
as a peace offering, since we are, thanks to our soldiers past and present, allowed to respectfully agree or not about anything
What's funny is she peeled all of two apples and was so dang proud of herself that she stopped what she was doing and took a picture to prove she's actually doing something in the kitchen. Look at me!! Look at me!! I peeled TWO apples!!

Stopped what she was doing and arranged everything just so--poorly, lol.
I can just picture her with that goofy smile setting up the arrangement for 45 minutes, still on her victory lap of manic-ness since her big break the other day in Cosmopolitan.
What an idiot The sticker on one of the apples.is clear as day. And those are NOT apples from a tree from her property. Those are orchard apples. Unbelievable
Are her hundreds of beloved tweeties falling all over her, proclaiming what a fantastic cook she is, making applesauce from scratch? How many want the recipe? How many are asking if you can freeze the applesauce? Is her timeline being flooded with praises, yums and delish from her adoring fans?
Oh, Sue (35)...just saw this and was ready to post it. You beat me to it. Silly sheep never fail to disappoint! There's always one or two apples in the bunch!
Seriously? All this talk about a sticker on an apple when we already know she is a poser? why give fodder ? URGHHHHH....going back under ther verandah permanently and glad I have a shovel for all this sh*t....I can always dig myself out alone or act like a politician and deny...deny...de nile...wait....that's a river, right?
did her famous apple sauce recipe mention after you peel the apples, as this takes some actual time, it is a good idea to put peeled parts in a bowl with water and lemon so they do not brown?
or maybe for TFMJG that brown is actually golden... ( not to mention all the nutrients lost by peeling...who here had a Golden recipe with peels?,,, I want it, please)
They are going to have a Celebrity Worse Cook in America!!!
Guess who is on and was showing her recipe that she made!!!
Kendra and her meatloaf!!! It looked Disgusting!
Just think. If TFW would went on CWCOA before she wrote LIITM and won the darn thing, she could of then authored a cookbook and could of had a legitimate cookbook and could of made some good money on it.
Oh, there is an article out about Kendra and Hank and they are not getting divorced and their marriage is strong. I believe all the drama about him with a transgender, the marriage boot camp was entirely made up and that they wanted the money for it.
Now, Kendra is on another reality tv show.
Girls Next Door, Kendra on Top, Marriage Boot Camp, AWC's, Wife Swap, DWTS?, I know there is more.
I have no idea if you can see this or not (I am computer idiotic) but I hope you can. I am NOT posting it as political commentary. I'm posting it because, well, you'll see. I hope.
Maybe we can do a side-by-side with Kate here too, huh? Anyway....

Girls Next Door, Kendra on Top, Marriage Boot Camp, AWC's, Wife Swap, DWTS?, I know there is more. *********************** She did that Diving Show (a celebrity diving contest where each week the worst diver got voted out) but quit after a couple of weeks because she was scared of heights.
I went to other blog that hold KIG as a goddess and was impressed they are actually starting to think critically. ************************************** Can I ask the name of the blog?
Thanks kris! I knew there was one more. WHY would you do a diving show when you are afraid of heights. Sounds like just for the money. She knew she would get money out of it one way or another, even when she all of a sudden quitting.
Does anyone remember the picture of TFW of her at night and she was walking and it is a headshot, she is wearing black and her hair is all over the place and she has the look of a just ate a lemon look? I saw it the other day on Google images and I didn't grab it and now I can't find it.
I took a look a Kate's applesauce picture, and not to defend Kate, but I don't think that's a store sticker on the top of that one apple. It looks more like started peeling the top of the apple and then thought "OMG--I must take a picture for my tweeties!" and stopped in mid-peel to arrange everything for the picture.
And yes, Kate does have apple trees on her property.
So, I think the part about picking apples from her own trees is legit, but why did she need to haul out her cookbook for such a simple recipe? Wouldn't she remember how to make it, or is it just another not so subtle way to remind her tweeties that she has actually has a cookbook?
Kate is a twit, I think you're right. But yet, again, as always there is this kind of discussion with anything and everything she does. What kind of life is that when everything you say and do is questioned? It's the REAL reason she has no friends and family. Not her fame or money, not "jelussy" it's because she is NOT authentic. Anyone who interacts with her for any period of time learns she is a liar. The lying liar who lies. If I, or you or another "celebrity" were to post something like that, would there be any debate? I think not

I think you answered your own question there. I can't imagine anyone who has ever made apple sauce more than once needs to refer to a recipe.
She posted that purely for the ensuing commentary and praise from her sheeple. Perhaps maybe to try and sell a couple more cookbooks.
Oh, how the mighty have fallen. I will give her that she didn't exploit any of her children or pets in this particular grasp at relevancy.
P.S. I swear, when she's manic, she bounces around from one crazy scheme to the next to self promote and none of it works. It's an incoherent mess. She's as organized as a fart in a windstorm.

The really sad part (or funny depending on how sympathetic you are) is that she learned absolutely nothing about promoting her "brand" during all those years under TLC's wing.
She got so caught up in being a reality teevee stah that anything she could have gleaned about marketing and selling herself was completely lost on her.
Damn, the woman can't even make herself come across as remotely likable in a five minute interview. She acts like she invented motherhood when she is not even the least bit motherly.
The woman is all ego and extensions. She can't promote herself because at the end of the day there is nothing of any substance to her.

One thing I've realized is that apparently marketing and branding aren't just second nature to every celebrity. For some like Kate they really struggle with it. Knowing how to do it, when to do it, understanding what's interesting fodder and what's boring.
I have a new appreciation for the celebs who do it well. I forgot who said this, but some big celeb said that being a movie star is 10% making movies 90% promotion and that if you don't like promotion or aren't good at it that 90% can be a real drag. For that very reason some people avoid big stardom and go make plays in New York.
@TheReader23: @Kimzolciak It just scares me because @TonyDovolani was so mean to @Kateplusmy8 when he was her partner. Hope he's nicer to you ======== Just WTF!
Oh one more thing....I'm not even convinced she understands she's supposed to be in the business of marketing herself.....
There's this air about her like any "marketing" she is doing is really just to get some pats on the back and attention. Not because she understands it's part of the bigger picture of her brand or has any kind of long term plan for that.
FlimsyFlamsy said... 69 Does TFW's website still say the cookbook is coming soon, or available to pre-order, or whatever half-assed promotion she had up there? ==============
Yep, it's still there front and center saying that it is available for "pre-order". The funny thing is that is says "see blog below to place your order", and you have to search for that blog because she has 4 or 5 posts after it.
Kate should spend a day or two overhauling that site. Any newbie going there would be thoroughly confused, especially since the "Inspiration" tab is still "coming soon" after four years, and the latest "New and Events" are things that she did back in 2011(marathon and visit to Australia for Steve Irwin Day).
Maybe Kate leaves it that way because it's her "memory" book and she can look back and yearn for the days when she was still relevant.
Admin (#73), and I think there's really no one close to her who would offer advice that might help her with promotion. As I've said before, a high school student with a passing knowledge of web design could probably whip her website into shape in a couple of hours for a few hundred dollars. But I don't sense that anyone who's not on her payroll would suggest something like that.
KIAT (#74), thanks for reporting back! I just made a similar comment to yours -- that TFW could get that thing into shape if she cared to. She's always talking about her TV and movie viewing -- from The Waltons to Full House to Dancing With The Stars to Princess Diaries. Allllll those hours of leisure time, but none to invest in her website?
It's 2015 -- a website is a representation of a brand, and a vital component to the success of a career. A career TFW claims is the only way she can support her family of 9. She is bone lazy.
For government employees in America — be they county clerks, public school teachers, or members of the military — religious liberty is conditioned by functioning in a governmental capacity. The longstanding American answer to any conscientious objection they may have was stated straightforwardly by Democratic presidential candidate John F. Kennedy, in his famous speech to the Houston Ministerial Association 55 years ago this month:
But if the time should ever come — and I do not concede any conflict to be remotely possible — when my office would require me to either violate my conscience or violate the national interest, then I would resign the office; and I hope any conscientious public servant would do likewise. - See more at: http://marksilk.religionnews.com/2015/09/03/a-cheer-for-kim-davis/#sthash.T05Ae54s.dpuf

I believe Kim Davis is a pawn. Her attorneys are using her to make news. It is clear she should resign but they told her to stand her ground. Will her attorneys pay her fines? That should be investigated because I bet Kim Davis will be shuttled around by the Christian Right to make appearances... remember "Joe the Plumber"?

Some Republic presidential candidates are also defending her. Does that mean if they were elected President they would defy any laws that goes against their religious beliefs?
This article sums up those who are for and against her. I notice that Trump hasn't jumped on the bandwagon.
And of course, Huckabee is her strongest defender.
"Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee: In a statement on Tuesday, Huckabee said, “I spoke with Kim Davis this morning to offer my prayers and support. I let her know how proud I am of her for not abandoning her religious convictions and standing strong for religious liberty. She is showing more courage and humility than just about any federal office holder in Washington.” Huckabee further argued that since the Supreme Court does not have the authority to make law, it would be unconstitutional for Davis to issue same-sex marriage licenses. “I stand with Kim Davis and every American of faith under attack by Washington elites who have nothing but disdain for us, our faith and the Constitution,” he concluded."
Huckabee doesn't seem to understand that SCOTUS didn't "make a law", they interpreted the existing law as including rights to same-sex marriage. And he's actually running for President? Scary!
She is showing more courage and humility than just about any federal office holder in Washington.”
&&&&
You know, real courage and humility means not standing in the way of two people who love each other and aren't hurting you or anybody else, even if it's not what your religion preaches. It takes real courage to let other people have their own religious beliefs, and you have yours, and to live in harmony together anyway.
I don't understand the religious liberty argument. Her liberty is not threatened. She doesn't HAVE to issue gay marriage licenses. She can go do some other job. There are tons of clerk jobs that don't involve issuing marriage licenses. Go get one.
You wouldn't ask a clinic that performs abortions to stop doing that because a nurse there doesn't approve. The nurse should go work somewhere else if she can't do her duties because that offends her.
Lots of people wouldn't do various job because it offends them. I wouldn't work for a porn company even in administration. So then don't work there. The idea she is some hero in all this is baffling.
Huckabee doesn't seem to understand that SCOTUS didn't "make a law", they interpreted the existing law as including rights to same-sex marriage. And he's actually running for President? Scary! ****** It IS scary! There's Hucka B. Doofus, throwing his undying support behind another Christian he doesn't even know.
They had several episodes revolving around getting pregnant, pregnancies, ultrasounds, "change of life", fertility treatments, calendar charts, temperatures etc
No, you are wrong. There has never, ever been mention of charts, temperatures or "fertility treatments" of any kind on any episode. Why make something like this up? These words have never been uttered.
The idea she is some hero in all this is baffling. **** Like I said, low hanging fruit. Except, I'm not baffled anymore. Not by Fundies. All they need to know is the Jesus is your personal Lord and Savior and/or that you're repentant, and you can do no wrong.
Huckabee thinks this woman is showing "humility," but I think her behavior is the exact opposite: it's arrogance. Her own feelings and opinions are overriding the good of the people she is supposed to be serving.
FlimsyFlamsy said... 81 Sue_Buddy (#79), you know, you're right! Come to think of it, that might be the first authentic thing about TFW that we can point to! ::::::::
Exactly. It's Kate in a nutshell. You need only look at her website to get a true idea of what she's about.
According to sources on twitter, she has been held in contempt and ordered to jail.
Washington Post @washingtonpost · 11m11 minutes ago Kentucky clerk who refuses to issue gay marriage licenses ordered to jail for contempt of court http://wapo.st/1JQDxZN
From the WaPo artice(as an update):
Breaking: Kentucky clerk has been ordered to jail for contempt of court after refusing to issue marriage licenses to gay couples. More updates to come.
Kim Davis was ordered to jail until she complies. I have a feeling she's not too bright and is being used as a pawn by ultra-conservatives to make a point. Next, she'll go on a hunger strike, watch.
So what are the Democrats saying about the clerk in Kentucky? She is, after all, a Democrat and was elected as one. This isn't the Republicans' baby. Right?
It's been a very difficult summer. Hello to all here. Doing a little lurking as I can.
I am just truly astounded and saddened that there is still so much ignorance, intolerance, and hate in this country in this day and age. And the people who do so in the name of God, especially "Christians" just really get me. Jesus was a loving, progressive, forgiving man who broke bread with prostitutes and thieves. These people are hateful! I don't get it.

Still no comment from him on the latest Duggar scandal? He quickly put in his two cents the first time around.
I am just truly astounded and saddened that there is still so much ignorance, intolerance, and hate in this country in this day and age.

I don't think there's that much. I think it's one person making headlines. It gives the false impression it's more prevalent than it is.
If there were hundreds of other clerks lined up behind her that would be one thing.
As I understand it across this country every day, thousands upon thousands of clerks are issuing marriage licenses to whoever is legally entitled to them, without complaint. They don't get any media attention, of course.
I thought that time it was something to do with apples, also. I think that time we were also talking about the waxy shine.
-------------------------
I'm remembering something about that, too, but it seems to have gotten lost in the heap of dumb stuff she has done.
Perhaps the apples are a bit like the bread machine that slices the bread as it bakes. Her apple-picking machine puts a polish and sticker on the apples as it picks them.

Maybe it's the election season. Trump has so many hateful followers, Huckabee is an intolerant ass. The number of people whol love Trump who are just like this clerk frightens the hell out of me. So much anger. It's hard for a centrist like me to wrap my mind around.
Virigina Pen Momo (#99), I am happy to see you posting. So sorry you've had a difficult summer. I hope things are getting better, or will soon. And I hope you'll post again.
Too bad Joshie got caught up in another scandal. This would've been a fine opportunity to don his fanciest lapel pin and hail this woman as a hero for sticking to her guns, and upholding the, ahem, sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman. But his finger-wagging days are over.
This Kim Davis was elected after she worked in the same office held by her mother for decades. Did she ever even go to college? Did she not have civics/government classes? What is so hard to understand about separation of church and state?
Look at the polls of average Americans, not the headlines.
Support of gay marriage is at an all time high. It's never been so strong. Most people have no problem with it. In just 1996, only 27 percent of people supported it! Humans are getting better, not worse, despite what CNN wants us to believe.

"So how does she handle the reporters and talking heads who call her a hypocrite?
“All I can say to them is if they have a sordid past like what I had, they too can receive the cleansing and renewing, and they can start a fresh life and they can be different,” she said. “They don’t have to remain in their sin, there’s hope for tomorrow.”
Davis did not seek the national spotlight. She had no intention of becoming a spokeswoman for religious liberty, and she bristles at the idea that she is a hero of the faith.
“I’m just a vessel God has chosen for this time and this place,” she said. “I’m no different than any other Christian. It was my appointed time to stand, and their time will come.”
Maybe she should quit her job, and go be a PR person for the Duggars. Josh could sure use her excuse about being a hypocrite once he gets out of "rehab".
“I’m just a vessel God has chosen for this time and this place

Lol, the hell?
This is the fundie crap I hate. God did not choose you for this very special purpose. Pure chance and randomness and defiance of the law put you in this ridiculous situation. And now you're in jail, so good job God.
I thought Huckabee said she's humble. No one with humility believes themselves to be God's special little snowflake space ship.

I hope you're right. It's not CNN though, it's watching the debates, seeing these supporters, seeing people support people like this woman. Maybe it's because I'm in the Northeast. I live in a Republican County but it's a traditional Republicanism...not angry, hateful, bigoted, narrowmindedness. And my friend who is very Christian isn't like that either. She believes homosexuality is a sin. But she doesn't hate anyone. She loves them. It's just hard to see this kind of thing. Maybe becuase I have a handful of gay friends in long term relationships and my daughter is dating a second-generation Mexican American LOL

******************
I haven't been following this. Has she come out and said that she hates these people? If she's following her convictions that she believes gay marriages are wrong, then that's one thing. It's her job to follow the law, and if she doesn't like it and it goes against everything in which she believes, then she needs to find another job that's more in line with her personal beliefs. It's kind of a no-brainer, isn't it?
"lawyers for the couples repeatedly pressed Davis to admit that her policy is the result of a personal choice.
Bunning agreed and said fines for Davis, who makes $80,000 a year, would not be enough to ensure that she would follow his orders. He also raised concerns that supporters, whom she said are raising money for her, would pay any fine he levied against her, hampering its force.
"I don't do this lightly," he said. "It's necessary in this case."
"U.S. District Court Judge David Bunning placed Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis in the custody of U.S. marshals until she complies, saying fines were not enough to force her to comply with his previous order to provide the paperwork to all couples and allowing her to defy the order would create a "ripple effect."
"Her good-faith belief is simply not a viable defense," Bunning said. "Oaths mean things."
Probably the best quote I've seen regarding the Kim Davis debacle is from U.S. Attorney Kerry Harvey who said "Government officials are free to disagree with the law, but not disobey it."
Kim Davis has a First Amendment right to disagree with same-sex marriage and to express her displeasure extremely vocally if she so wishes. She cannot be arrested for expressing her opinion.
On the other hand, as a sworn public official she has an obligation to fulfill the duties of the office. Her personal opinions should have no bearing on her performance. She must follow the law whether she agrees with it or not. If she cannot faithfully execute the required duties then she needs to resign.
Huckabee is such an ass. He tweeted this after the Kim Davis decision:
Gov. Mike Huckabee ✔ @GovMikeHuckabee Kim Davis in federal custody removes all doubts about the criminalization of Christianity in this country. We must defend #ReligiousLiberty!
Hmm, does that "religious liberty" only apply to Christians, Mike?
Way to go Judge--yes, "oaths do mean things", which apparently Ms. Davis has conveniently forgotten. ***** Right and she's now vowed "till death do us part" and fidelity to 4 men. Clearly, she doesn't take oaths to heart.
Huckabee stated: “I stand with Kim Davis and every American of faith under attack by Washington elites who have nothing but disdain for us, our faith and the Constitution,” he concluded."
*********************************************************************************** I think I found a lie right there. He says he stands with Kim and every America of faith. Well, yes if you are President you must stand with every American of faith. ALL FAITHS, including the ones that are scary to him like Pagans, Satanists, Muslims and even those of no faith. I think everyone knows he will defend only the Christians and do everything he can to stop nonChristians from obtaining the same rights. I can not figure out why anyone would vote for a person saying that they would not uphold the law against one special group.
On the other hand, as a sworn public official she has an obligation to fulfill the duties of the office. Her personal opinions should have no bearing on her performance. She must follow the law whether she agrees with it or not. If she cannot faithfully execute the required duties then she needs to resign.
&&&&
Absolutely. It's like any office where you take an oath. Look at a public defender. You think they actually AGREE with what some serial killer did? Of course not. But that's not the point. They're assigned to defend them and they must do so zealously. If they can't, get out of the business. It's not for everyone.
I am confused why she thinks she's more special than any one of us who have taken oaths and have to work with people who have different beliefs than us all the time, as I have.
Midnight Madness said... 118 I am just truly astounded and saddened that there is still so much ignorance, intolerance, and hate in this country in this day and age. And the people who do so in the name of God, especially "Christians" just really get me.
(((
I didn't specifically mean her. I mean some of her supporters and other people supporting her. I think she said she does not hate them. But her actions, to me, are hateful.
If she cannot faithfully execute the required duties then she needs to resign. **** But God chose her! Just like God chose for Kate to risk a HOM pregnancy and become rich and famous from it.
Davis supporters use the same defense of her hypocrisy as Josh Duggar's supporters do (did). They say she committed adultery and divorced BEFORE she reformed. Now that she has seen the light, she has to uphold what she believes. Which is fine, just not in a courthouse by a governent official.
Those candidates who support Kim Davis: Christie, Jindal, Huckabee, Rubio, Paul, and Cruz.
Candidates backing rule of law: Former California Senate candidate Carly Fiorina: On Hugh Hewitt’s radio show, Fiorina urged Davis to follow the law or resign: “While I disagree with this court’s decision, their actions are clear. And so I think in this particular case, this woman now needs to make a decision that’s [about] conscience: Is she prepared to continue to work for the government, be paid for by the government, in which case she needs to execute the government’s will, or does she feel so strongly about this that she wants to sever her employment with the government and go seek employment elsewhere where her religious liberties would be paramount over her duties as a government employee?” South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham: In a radio interview with Hugh Hewitt, Graham said that as a public official Davis must “comply with the law or resign.” “The rule of law is the rule of law,” he argued, “That’s what we are. We are a rule of law nation, and I appreciate her conviction. I support traditional marriage, but she’s accepted a job where she has to apply the law to everyone. And that’s her choice".
I'm interested in what will happen with the Deputy clerks. They are still in the hearing and have to decide whether they will issue licenese or join Davis in jail.
No, you are wrong. There has never, ever been mention of charts, temperatures or "fertility treatments" of any kind on any episode. Why make something like this up? These words have never been uttered. -------------------------------- In the middle of a discussion of the Roloffs, someone miswrote it as the Duggars. From that time on, the discussion has involved half the pesters reading/writing about the Duggars, half about the Roloffs. Much confusion has ensued. I believe the statement is true about the Ds but not the Rs.
But God chose her! Just like God chose for Kate to risk a HOM pregnancy and become rich and famous from it.
****************
And God chose to give the Duggars 19 children. They are constantly taking the "children are a blessing from God" stance. What about Josh? Was he a mistake? If they are distancing themselves from him, then is he considered the black sheep of the family and God just messed up with that one? Is Josh not a blessing?

From what I've read, it sounds like this job is a family thing. From mother to daughter ( even though they were both elected) and isn't her son working in the office now?
So now that Kim Davis is in jail, who's in charge of the county clerk's office? Will they follow their boss' example or issue the marriage licenses for everyone?
And here's the thing. OK, she's the clerk and when she was elected it wasn't in her job description to issue licenses to gays. That is against her conscience. Now it is in her job description. She can either resign, or allow her deputies to do so since it is personally against her beliefs.
I can not figure out why anyone would vote for a person saying that they would not uphold the law against one special group.

Huckabee is a jerk. Most saw that when he opened his mouth in defense of Josh's molestation of his siblings. I don't think anyone has anything to worry about that he wins the nomination. He's just there for the ride.

Admin, have you read Mickey Sherman's "How Can You Defend These People?"
I'm surprised at Christie supporting her. I always thought he was more centrist than that.
&&&
He didn't really support her exactly but he didn't condemn her with specificity like my girl Carly did. In fact I would say that he actually doesn't support her. After a long rambling answer which kind of summarized what was going on and showed sympathy for those with religious beliefs, he concluded with, BUT, the constitution comes first. I.e. she has to uphold the law.
And here's the thing. OK, she's the clerk and when she was elected it wasn't in her job description to issue licenses to gays. That is against her conscience. Now it is in her job description. She can either resign, or allow her deputies to do so since it is personally against her beliefs.
8888888888888888888888888888888
I totally disagree. Her job is to issue marriage licenses to anyone who applies and is eligible. Her job description never changed.
She either does her whole job or she resigns. This would be quite the world if we were allowed to cherry-pick the parts of our jobs that we would or would not do.

Yep. Do you think she ever went to college? To a Government class?
Maybe she should quit her job, and go be a PR person for the Duggars. Josh could sure use her excuse about being a hypocrite once he gets out of "rehab".

If I understand this correctly, this might be her "get out of jail card". If she has no objection to the deputies in her office and allows them to issue marriage licenses to all, then she will be released. If she stands by her original decision to not let them issue licenses, then she stays in jail.
From what I understand one of the reasons she wouldn't let the deputies issue licenses is because her name and signature still would appear on those licenses and she felt that it would therefore show that she "endorsed" them and felt it was against her beliefs.
So it'll be interesting to see if she changes her mind. I doubt it.

I disagree that she should be able to pass this off to her co-workers. That's a cop-out. I hope all the clerks call in sick on the same day and there's a whole lot of gay couples applying for a marriage license on that same day.
@starsequeal: #KimDavis stands up and calls a queer a queer and not some GAY crap term. Queers have infected the U.S.A. God is no longer with this govt.
Actually is was the attorneys for the plaintiffs who actually gave her an "out" and the judge agreed to it.
"Five of the six deputy clerks in a Kentucky county say they will issue marriage licenses to gay couples, despite their boss' refusal to do so.
The lone holdout among the deputy clerk's is the clerk's son, Nathan. His mother was jailed earlier Thursday when she refused to follow U.S. District Judge David Bunning's order to hand out marriage licenses.
Attorneys for the plaintiffs have proposed releasing Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis out of custody if she agrees to not interfere with marriage licenses for gay couples.
The judge has agreed to the proposal and is now bringing Kim Davis back to the courtroom to see if she will agree."
I think that's quite generous of the plaintiffs, but actually all they seem to really want is the right to obtain a marriage license to which are legally allowed to do. They never wanted her to be jailed in the first place.
I disagree that she should be able to pass this off to her co-workers
&&&
Oh I'm not saying she should be able to pass this off on her coworkers.
What I'm saying is when the judge gives you an out of a messy situation, only an idiot doesn't take it. He's giving her a very generous compromise and getting her out of jail. If she wants to continue to be a pig headed bigot martyr after that offer, then that's just stupidity.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie: In a Wednesday radio interview with Laura Ingraham, Christie acknowledged that “someone who works in the government has a bit of a different obligation than someone who’s in the private sector or obviously working for educational institutions that’s religiously based or others,” but opined that “we have to protect religious liberty and people’s ability to be able to practice their religion freely and openly, and of course we have to enforce the law too.”
&&&&&&&&
He wants it both ways. Not impressed. Kim Davis' religious freedom is not being tread upon. It's her decision to discriminate, not do her job and break civil law as a public servant earning $80K a year from taxpayers. Christie is afraid of alienating her supporters. I thought he had more guts than that.
@starsequeal: #KimDavis stands up and calls a queer a queer and not some GAY crap term. Queers have infected the U.S.A. God is no longer with this govt.
&&&
Is that the sentiment of most of twitter? Or is that just a few nut jobs sprinkled here and there? The hashtag #jailkimdavis has like a fuckety billion tweets, as Tucker would say.
Mike Huckabee made a statement about Kim Davis. Is he really this stupid? This is what it say in part:
"Kim is asking the perfect question: ‘Under what law am I authorized to issue homosexual couples a marriage license?’ That simple question is giving many in Congress a civics lesson that they never got in grade school.
The Supreme Court cannot and did not make a law. They only made a ruling on a law. Congress makes the laws. Because Congress has made no law allowing for same-sex marriage, Kim does not have the Constitutional authority to issue a marriage license to homosexual couples."
Hey, Mike, can you cite the law that Congress made allowing heterosexual marriages?
Sorry, but he really pisses me off. But, of course, he does support the Duggars, so I shouldn't expect anything else from him.
I think that's quite generous of the plaintiffs, but actually all they seem to really want is the right to obtain a marriage license to which are legally allowed to do. They never wanted her to be jailed in the first place.
&&&
Attorneys can't give Kim an out. They can propose it, and the judge took their idea, so fair credit to them, but it's still the judge's order. Judge's often just adopt an attorney's idea, which is quite fun when you're the attorney who thought of it.
And I do think it's awesome that no one is trying to hurt her, they're fine with her being out of jail as long as they can get married somehow. It really gives their cause some credibility. They've turned the proverbial other cheek, as the Bible commands. Kim could take a lesson.
So five of the deputy clerks have agreed to issue marriage licenses. It bugs me that this woman will keep her job and make 80K a year not doing what she was hired to do. How is this a win? She's not going to resign and give up 80K in that small town. And what about her son who is a deputy clerk? This guy gets a pass too? Really?

An update on another article said she didn't go back to court:

Yes, because she is an elected official and thus can only be removed from office by being impeached.
Kim Davis ripped up her get out of jail free card. I wonder if Mike Huckabee is willing to pay her massive bills as this thing continues. Yup, she's going for the martyr moniker.
I would actually have some admiration for her if she put her job on the line for her beliefs. I think she's nuts, but she's walking the walk.
***** My admiration is tempered by the fact that she is suppressing the rights of others, and it's totally lost by the fact that she could vacate her job and allow someone who is willing to fulfill all of the duties to take it.
Hard to be a martyr when only the fundie nutjobs agree with you. They're going to have to have one shitload of kids before they affect social mores. It ain't gonna happen.
Enough of this not issuing marriage licenses bullshit. Whomever is next up the chain has to step in and do it. Immediately. People's lives shouldn't be derailed because of this woman and her beliefs. She's perfectly entitled to them, but they are incompatible with the position she held.
How Christian is it to cash your 80k/year job checks knowing you're not actually doing the job you're getting paid to do? She denied issuing licenses to the very people who pay her salary. That takes cajones.
May I inject some levity into this topic? I keep thinking of Lucy Ricardo going to get her passport, and the clerk giving her a hard time. One of them says they're going to get him fired, and he explains he has his job for life, and they can't fire him -- they'd have to wait for him to die! And Charles Lane, the wonderful character actor who played that role, actually lived to be 102!
A story about doing your job duties despite your religion:
The pharmacy I go to sells alcohol, so one time while I was in there picking up a prescription in back, I grabbed a bottle of red because I was braising a dish. OK, it was a notch or two above plonk, but I knew it would do the job and I didn't want to go to the supermarket when I could just get it there. The muslim woman who is the pharmacy tech there had to ring me up, including my wine. She said she'd do it, but asked that she not do it in the future, and take it up to the register in front. I just took it up front to pay for it, but the point is, she knew it's part of her job working in a place that sells alcohol and she would do it, not refuse.
Does Jim Boob not understand how the internet works? You can't take anything back once it's out there, so making Jessa take down her tweet (supporting her FIL's rant against Josh) only makes is much, much worse.

Jessa is a grown, married, 'adult' woman who should be able to speak her mind if she so chooses. I predict that more of the Duggar children will remain unmarried if JimBoob doesn't dial his controlling ways back several notches. Those unmarried children may band together someday down the road and kick JimBoob and Babykins out of that big house.

Gawd, Kim Davis is insufferable. She goes back to jail rather than allow her clerks to issue marriage licenses. So she imposes her religious beliefs on her subordinates? WTH! And there is the possibility that those marriage licenses that will be issued by the deputy clerks will not be legal anyway because an elected official did not authorize them to issue the licenses. The judge said that is a chance people will have to take. Really, this is ridiculous. I hope she rots in jail. The judge has correctly assumed if he lets her out this back and forth will continue for months.
So this is what is so frustrating...this elected official can hold a county hostage, not do her job, and there's not a damn thing anyone can do??? What is interesting is that there are a couple of other clerks who are doing the same thing in KY and I think in AL too. So why is Kim Davis getting this legal support? Tucker's Mom (#187), and what if one of the male/female couples denied a license are very devout Christians like she is? Does she feel comfortable depriving them of their rights? Why do they have to suffer for her convictions? Obviously, I know the same sex couples are suffering, but I'm trying to imagine how she would rationalize her decision.
I have to agree with Susan on this one.....this has an air about it like an underground conspiracy, a last line of defense.
I'm trying to put myself in the shoes of a zealot who really in their heart feels gay marriage is wrong. The law is not going your way. So you might have to resort to more illegal tactics, like trying to get government officials to defy the law. A gorilla warfare effort of sorts. We know they're not going down without a fight. I just mentioned the other day I saw a commercial on TLC no less for an interest group "fighting" this.
I wonder how Kim Davis would have felt if the clerk had refused to issue her a license for her fourth marriage, because the clerk's religious belief was that marriage was sacred and that divorce was a sin and therefore she was still married to her first husband. Would she have accepted that person's religious beliefs and fought for them?
Admin---I didn't make the smell test comment on #188. I was quoting some of TLC Stinks comment on #185 and didn't erase the part I wasn't quoting. I'm really having a hard time posting today.
Although I do agree with TLC Stinks--it doesn't pass the smell test.
I think Kim Davis has really f*****d up in so many ways. She will either be impeached or not win reelection ( I've been searching on the 'net for the date of her election/length of term, but can't find it) and her replacement will replace her son so fast it won't be funny. There goes the dynasty!

But wouldn't the county clerk during all or at least some of Kim Davis' marriages have been her own mother or even herself? Nepotism, monopoly, whatever you want to call it. It doesn't pass the smell test.
ACLU attorney Heather Weaver, who is working on the case, said there was testimony about fundraising efforts on Davis' behalf, apparently a factor in the judge's decision not to impose financial penalties.
The Kentucky State Legislature, the only body in Kentucky with the power to impeach, is not in session, and Governor Bashear is unwilling to call them into session for this purpose. Furthermore, it is unlikely that the Legislature would actually vote to impeach her.
Further, although she is jail for contempt, she cannot lose her job because of that.
From the San Francisco Chronicle:
This is not a case of freedom of religion. Davis has every right to exercise her religion and express her beliefs while off duty; her minister has every right to refuse to preside over same-sex weddings.
But when Davis is serving in an official government capacity, she needs to follow the law, even when she disagrees with it. Neither Rowan County nor any other jurisdiction of the United States has an official religion, as she well knew when she assumed elected office.
Imagine the chaos and discrimination that could ensue if individuals were able to invoke religious doctrine to withhold government services. Would those who are rallying behind Davis be willing to allow a public servant to cite his or her beliefs to deny a hunting permit, a driver’s license to a woman, lessons on evolution to schoolchildren, or public housing to a religious or ethnic minority?
The First Amendment’s guarantee of freedom of religion requires government to remain resolutely neutral on religion. What Davis is doing is imposing her religious beliefs on public policy. In doing so, she is undermining the concept of freedom of religion.

Great comment and explanation of why this is not a free speech issue. Great legal analysis.
Kim Davis was ordered to jail until she complies. I have a feeling she's not too bright and is being used as a pawn by ultra-conservatives to make a point. Next, she'll go on a hunger strike, watch.

Be kinda nice if she has to share a cell with *gasp* a lesbian.
I have always been under the impression that elected county officials did not make that much. For example, according to SimplyHired, as of Sept. 2015, the average salary of a county clerk in Kentucky is $49,000 which seems right to me. This woman appears overpaid, IMO. The median household income in her county is $33k-$34k. I found this on multiple sites.

I think not

Yeah, why didn't she promote her crookbook like that when it actually launched. Again, several years late and many dollars short.
P.S. I swear, when she's manic, she bounces around from one crazy scheme to the next to self promote and none of it works. It's an incoherent mess. She's as organized as a fart in a windstorm.
Didn't we have the apple discussion once before? Or was that some other scenario?
I thought I remembered some discussion where she was claiming to do something home-made, but whatever it was had a store sticker on it.

Does TFW's website still say the cookbook is coming soon, or

Hope he's nicer to you
========
Just WTF!

==============
PJ, thanks for the laugh! "Organized as a fart in a windstorm" I will steal that shamelessly and use it when appropriate!
Admin (#73), and I think there's really no one close to her who
would offer advice that might help her with promotion. As I've
said before, a high school student with a passing knowledge
of web design could probably whip her website into shape in
a couple of hours for a few hundred dollars. But I don't sense
that anyone who's not on her payroll would suggest something
like that.
KIAT (#74), thanks for reporting back! I just made a similar comment
to yours -- that TFW could get that thing into shape if she cared to.
She's always talking about her TV and movie viewing -- from The
Waltons to Full House to Dancing With The Stars to Princess Diaries.
Allllll those hours of leisure time, but none to invest in her website?
It's 2015 -- a website is a representation of a brand, and a vital
component to the success of a career. A career TFW claims is
the only way she can support her family of 9. She is bone lazy.
From Religion News blog:

Some Republic presidential candidates are also defending her. Does that mean if they were elected President they would defy any laws that goes against their religious beliefs?
This article sums up those who are for and against her. I notice that Trump hasn't jumped on the bandwagon.
http://thinkprogress.org/election/2015/09/03/3698273/republican-candidates-anti-gay-kentucky-clerk/
Scary!
Sue_Buddy (#79), you know, you're right! Come to think of it,
that might be the first authentic thing about TFW that we can

Redbird, sorry about the link. If you really want to see it, Google:

You know, real courage and humility means not standing in the way of two people who love each other and aren't hurting you or anybody else, even if it's not what your religion preaches. It takes real courage to let other people have their own religious beliefs, and you have yours, and to live in harmony together anyway.

No it doesn't.
The headline of that article is very misleading:
"Only 2 Republican Candidates Think Kim Davis Needs To Quit Or Follow The Law"
The article left out six of the Republican candidates, and Rubio's and Christie's comments weren't really clear.
Scary!

It IS scary!
There's Hucka B. Doofus, throwing his undying support behind another Christian he doesn't even know.

Breaking: Kentucky clerk has been ordered to jail for contempt of court after refusing to issue marriage licenses to gay couples. More updates to come.
Kim Davis was found in contempt and taken to jail. Jesus would approve.
&&&
That's a big deal. Go, judge!
Although now she'll just be a fundie martyr.
Huckabee doesn't seem to understand that SCOTUS didn't "make a law", they interpreted the existing law as including rights to same-sex marriage. And he's actually running for President? Scary!
---------------------
Still no comment from him on the latest Duggar scandal? He quickly put in his two cents the first time around.
So, apparently, this woman has refused to issue any marriage licenses since June? I doubt this was her idea.
She has to be in breach of her duties. What's the county's recourse? Anybody know? She was elected not hired.
She is showing more courage and humility than just about any federal office holder in Washington.

Oh good grief. This is 2015 not 1977. I imagine somewhere in Oklahoma Anita Bryant is dancing on a table.
Just a thought: The Duggars and their ilk must think the end of days is upon us. This has been quite the summer.

Too bad Joshie got caught up in another scandal. This would've

woman as a hero for sticking to her guns, and upholding the,
ahem, sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman. But
his finger-wagging days are over.

Thanks for the laugh! I hadn't thought about Anita Bryant in years and yes, I bet she is singing, probably off-key!
Kim Davis did an interview on Fox radio, before the court hearing. Here is an article about the interview:
http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2015/09/03/kentucky-clerk-am-prepared-to-go-to-jail.html
A couple of excerpts:

I haven't been following this. Has she come out and said that she hates these people? If she's following her convictions that she believes gay marriages are wrong, then that's one thing. I'm glad the judge saw through the smokescreen. Let's see how willing she is to be the fundie pawn while her ass is in a jail cell.
From an article about the Kim Davis case:
"Oaths mean things."
http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2015/09/03/rowan-county-ky-court-clerk-marriage-licenses-gays/71635794/.
Way to go Judge--yes, "oaths do mean things", which apparently Ms. Davis has conveniently forgotten.
Gov. Mike Huckabee
✔ @GovMikeHuckabee
Kim Davis in federal custody removes all doubts about the criminalization of Christianity in this country. We must defend #ReligiousLiberty!
Hmm, does that "religious liberty" only apply to Christians, Mike?
Way to go Judge--yes, "oaths do mean things", which apparently Ms. Davis has conveniently forgotten.
*****
Right and she's now vowed "till death do us part" and fidelity to 4 men. Clearly, she doesn't take oaths to heart.
Huckabee stated:
“I stand with Kim Davis and every American of faith under attack by Washington elites who have nothing but disdain for us, our faith and the Constitution,” he concluded."
***********************************************************************************
I think I found a lie right there.
&&&&

But God chose her! Just like God chose for Kate to risk a HOM pregnancy and become rich and famous from it.
And so I think in this particular case, this woman now needs to make a decision that’s [about] conscience: Is she prepared to continue to work for the government, be paid for by the government, in which case she needs to execute the government’s will, or does she feel so strongly about this that she wants to sever her employment with the government and go seek employment elsewhere where her religious liberties would be paramount over her duties as a government employee?”
South Carolina Sen.
Don't know where Trump or Bush stand.
I'm interested in what will happen with the Deputy clerks. They are still in the hearing and have to decide whether they will issue licenese or join Davis in jail.

Kim Davis will return to courtroom at 3:30 & tell judge if she's willing to let her deputies obey law over her objections. If not, jail. ^JC

I want to see her put her $80K job on the line.
Like this:
The judge has agreed to the proposal and is now bringing Kim Davis back to the courtroom to see if she will agree."
http://www.wlwt.com/news/5-deputy-clerks-to-issue-marriage-licenses-in-ky-despite-jailed-clerks-refusal/35085864
I think that's quite generous of the plaintiffs, but actually all they seem to really want is the right to obtain a marriage license to which are legally allowed to do. They never wanted her to be jailed in the first place.
I want to see her put her $80K job on the line.
******
I can't believe she makes 80K.
I disagree that she should be able to pass this off to her co-workers
&&&
&&&&&&&&
Like this:
@starsequeal: #KimDavis stands up and calls a queer a queer and not some GAY crap term. Queers have infected the U.S.A. God is no longer with this govt.

Is that the sentiment of most of twitter? Or is that just a few nut jobs sprinkled here and there? The hashtag #jailkimdavis has like a fuckety billion tweets, as Tucker would say.

Actually, I think I stole that from Auntie!
&&&
Really?

I agree. And it looks like her son is being groomed to have the position when she retires? Nepotism at its finest. I know it's an elected position, but really? How many others has her son leap-frogged over to become deputy clerk? This whole thing stinks to high heaven. (Pun not really intended, but it works)
She refused the deal and remains in jail.

An update on another article said she didn't go back to court:
"UPDATE: Kim Davis stayed in custody and did not return to the courtroom. Her attorney told the judge that she does not authorize any employee to issue licenses in her absence.
Bunning acknowledged that emotions are high on both sides.
"I hope that everyone will remain civil," he said. "This country has always had disagreements, but what makes this country different from other countries is that we respect the rule of law."

She's got to be on somebody's payroll. I wonder what she'll do when they're done with her and kick her to the curb?
I would actually have some admiration for her if she put her job on the line for her beliefs. I think she's nuts, but she's walking the walk.

Yes, because she is an elected official and thus can only be removed from office by being impeached.
This article explains it:

Kim Davis ripped up her get out of jail free card.
I wonder if Mike Huckabee is willing to pay her massive bills as this thing continues.
Yup, she's going for the martyr moniker.

My admiration is tempered by the fact that she is suppressing the rights of others, and it's totally lost by the fact that she could vacate her job and allow someone who is willing to fulfill all of the duties to take it.
She's like a dry alcoholic.

I keep thinking of Lucy
Ricardo going to get her passport, and the clerk giving her a
hard time. One of them says they're going to get him fired, and
he explains he has his job for life, and they can't fire him -- they'd
have to wait for him to die! And Charles Lane, the wonderful
character actor who played that role, actually lived to be 102!

If JimBoob really make her delete the link, that is very disturbing as it's a clear sign of how controlling the little hair-sprayed helmet head is within the family. Jessa is a grown, married, 'adult' woman who should be able to speak her mind if she so chooses. Also, it goes against the verse in Corinthians that states a new family unit is formed when a man and woman marry. Kudos to the 'unwashed' husband for leaving the link up on his account.
I predict that more of the Duggar children will remain unmarried if JimBoob doesn't dial his controlling ways back several notches. Those unmarried children may band together someday down the road and kick JimBoob and Babykins out of that big house.
Oh my gosh! I made a triple post. I wasn't getting the 'pending' post message.

Also, make should be made in the 2nd paragraph.

It does not pass the smell test. This was set up.
That nonprofit group that is defending her has probably assured her that she need not worry about money, if you get my drift. She is their ticket to the national news. Stupid woman.

Tucker's Mom (#187), and what if one of the male/female
couples denied a license are very devout Christians like
she is? Does she feel comfortable depriving them of their
rights? Why do they have to suffer for her convictions?
Obviously, I know the same sex couples are suffering,
but I'm trying to imagine how she would rationalize her
decision.

Jessa is a grown, married, 'adult' woman who should be able to speak her mind if she so chooses.
