Jacob Roloff: "Just because the adults say it's what's best, doesn't mean it's what's best"

The youngest star of TLC's Little People, Big World, who has been filming the show since he was about seven years old, has been speaking out more frequently about his dislike of filming and his desire to protect other reality stars from a childhood played out on T.V. screens

Jacob recently met Jack Hamill, star of Our Little Family. Jacob had this to say on Instagram about the encounter (click to enlarge):

The post garnered more than 2,500 likes in less than fourteen hours. (On average, Jacob's Instagram posts get 800-1200 likes each).

Well done, Jacob, and keep speaking out. You have a unique perspective not many others can claim to possess

Kate will fly them to the other side of the globe to film, but won't allow them to go on a perfectly safe trip with school for one reason only- she's waiting to score that trip from TLC.

============

I'm not sure that's the reason, although it may be part of it. I think that if they went on the overnight trips, it's out of her control. She needs to be with them on a trip because she's either afraid that something will happen to them (kidnapping), or they might have melt-downs and misbehave and she's not there to take care of the situation. She's in charge, and that's never going to change. It's all about control and Kate being able to dictate where they go, what they do, what they eat, where they sleep.

Hey @MirandaSings @ColleenB123 Cara, Mady and I L💋VED #MirandaCampReading How ‘bout summer camp daily for my PLUS 8?😍

How 'bout letting your kids go to summer camp in your own area? They'd love it. There are some wonderful camps in the Poconos, not far away from home. The girls could ride horses, the boys could fish. What a wonderful time they would have.

FlimsyFlamsy said...

Fleecing The Sheeple (#1), I agree that TFW's control issue is
front and center with the no-trips edict. Also, I don't think she
genuinely cares if they enjoy their lives. I tried to think of a
gentler way of putting that, but I couldn't think of one. Their
needs and wants always come second to hers. Always
have, always will. They are a group. The activities the twins
have been gifted were their currency with her. Their own
personal bargaining chips. And as the 6 get older, they may
be able to leverage some perks of their own (the girls,
anyway -- the boys may just be doomed).

Thank you so much for the link Kiat. You're so good at that.

And thanks, Tucker's Mom. Yes, it's our sweet puggle.

I'm finding strength in the thoughts of a Hospice volunteer's piece that she wrote many years ago in our paper that explained the reasons why she re-entered her volunteerism with that organisation. She explained why, aside from her busy life as a doctor and mother, being so close to the beauty of the end of life experience enlightened and fulfilled her in an incomparable way. I'd share that wonderful piece if I had thought to keep it at that time, but I'm relying only on my memory.

KIAT (#195), I think that was A who was told a lizard backpack
wasn't for girls. And am I just imagining this, or was J told that
purple wasn't for boys?

==================

It was one of the girls who wanted a reptile backpack and was told it was for boys. A lizard isn't so bad for a girl, and purple is okay for boys, but there is no way on this green earth that I would purchase a pink Barbie backpack for my son. Call me sexist or whatever, but nope...not gonna happen.

The quality of life chart really helped me a lot in evaluating whether Comet was suffering. I felt very sure about the decision, which I think helped me with staying emotionally present. I also think that having it done at home contributed to the calm and peacefulness of the day. I thought that it might be upsetting to have the memory attached to my home, but that hasn't been the case. I am comforted by the fact that he was in familiar surroundings. FlimsyFlamsy,

It was Alexis that was gruffly told she could not have the lizard backpack because it wasn't for girls. This was on the same episode as the NOOOO, you have to wear Velcro another year because you ALL don't know how to tie your shoes! Why not take the time to do it, FW?

Because you probably already proposed a whole episode on how the littles learn how to tie their shoes.

It would be called Laces and Faces. The kids are learning to tie their shoes so they can move up to big girl and boys shoes. Oh, the faces their severely stressed and cantankerous mother gives to the kids and the camera when she is trying (All Alone) to teach them to tie their shoes.

All of a sudden an old friend stops by and just happens to know how to tie her own shoes and volunteers to teach the children how to tie their own shoes. Their mother is so relieved to be relieved from teaching them a skill that they could benefit from. TFW's eyes is as good as rolled back inside her head thinking of the free time she can have with TFM off the compound without the kids!

I have posted many times about how angry I was about Alexis not being able to get the lizard backpack.

My guess is that the school trips take place during vacations. Of course she needs to be available at the drop of a hat for filming filler to replace TLC's disgraced stars.

I assume that these trips have to be booked way ahead of time, and she wouldn't want to deal with the shrieks and panic that would ensue if she cancelled her kids after promising them they could go.

It could be the control thing too, but I tend to think that she just wants to be always ready for her closeup.

This explains the the caked on yellow makeup he always wears, apparently he or someone else didn't want all those freckles to show. I almost feel bad for him, because adults who are that freckly can sometimes be extremely embarrassed by them.

Yes I think it's all of that. What I don't understand is why on earth she would admit to it so openly, like there's nothing wrong with it. I would have at least expected her to keep it quiet she doesn't let them go anywhere, to have some self awareness that it's utter B.S. to not allow them to go on trips with the rest of their classmates. Socially she is setting these kids up for failure. Kids pick up on at a very easy age who is stuck up, too good for other kids.

The cost of local school trips for younger kids is built into the tuition, so if she is taking money out of their trust for tuition, then they are paying for school trips but are not allowed to go. I have no idea why she won't let them go on trips.

&&&

What! Then she has no excuse now. I was thinking maybe in the back of her mind she had to pay for it out of pocket and was trying to guilt some sheeple into sponsoring their trips.

It is such a crying shame not to send them on class trips. Some of my very favorite memories are going on band trips. We went to Washington D.C. and Toronto. Our whole class also went to "camp" outside NYC, probably in the Catskills somewhere. It was called Ashokan, I remember that vividly. It's such a good experience to get away from your parents at that age and strike out on your own. Kids that can do that comfortably in childhood transition much easier to the independence of adulthood.

I remember a few kids who didn't go for various reasons, and they felt SO left out. It was borderline cruel.

She can keep the twins in line right now with bribes but that's all going to change when there's eight of them. She won't be able to keep up with their demands or the bribes. They're watching Cara and Mady and their demands will be bigger and better. She knows she has a very tenuous grip on these kids agreeing to film and she doesn't dare even breathe for fear of messing that up.

@Kateplusmy8 @CarleneMarie_1 Cannot wait!!

I can sort of understand the teeny tweeties and her very young fan base liking to see shows featuring the G kids. These fans are still wet behind the ears, want to have big families, think Kate is a goddess and the best mommy in the world. They are still too immature to understand the effects of filming minors who don't have a voice, and the ensuing exploitation. If you read their timelines, you can see that most of them are bubble-gum popping giggling kids whose priorities in life are shopping, partying, worshiping celebrities and tweeting selfies. Not all of them are like that, but it seems the majority of them are. They don't get it now, but maybe sometime in the future they will.

What I will never understand is why adults, such as the above tweeter, Carlene, Barb, Collie, and the few remaining sheeple want to watch other people's kids for their own amusement and entertainment. I may be alone in my opinion, but I think it's just really creepy wanting to ogle kids (and the vacations of others) who aren't your own. Or is it Kate who is the object of their affection and the children are just baggage?

Yes, admin. That policy was started many years ago so the teachers/heads of school didn't have to collect each student's payment for field trips. Some parents forgot to pay, kids forgot to turn in money, and the solution was not to have to bother with any of that if they figured in the cost of field trips into the tuition. What it comes down to is if a student decides not to go, he/she is paying for something to which that child is entitled and has already paid. With the enrollment agreement, there is a blanket permission for all field trips. Of course, when you get into upper grades, with more expensive trips that involve overnight travel, transportation, lodging, then there may be additional costs involved.

I think that's a GREAT idea. You know what else it avoids? Fundraising. I don't really believe in kids spending as much time as some of them do fundraising for various things. They have too much homework and other important things today to spend time on that. Just pay it all upfront and be done with it.

There are no negatives to sending these children on some class trips. None.

My daughter quit the trumpet in 5th grade. I said, don't you want to play in the hs band someday? She said no, she didn't like the uniforms. Then I tried to get her to join color guard. Nope, wouldn't do it. Meanwhile, my neices who were in the band went to California to play in the rosebowl, Florida, and the Indianapolis 500.

If my kids had the opportunity to visit another country, province, etc with their schoolmates, I would jump at the chance! What a great experience it would be. Not only would they experience something new, but it would also give them the added confidence to be able to do that without their parents there. What a dolt! We all know her motivations for not allowing them, which makes me even angrier! My husband and I have always said, that if we won the lottery (LOL), it wouldn't be about a big house, cars, etc. it would be the ability to travel, and show our kids the world. And the sickening thing is, that she has the means to do it, but doesn't.

Back to school prep - really, Kate? Miss I'm So Organized and Love Amazon finds it too hectic now? I've learned my lessons in the past, and try to have everything done by the end of July (we don't start until after Labour Day). The only thing my boys have to be there for shopping, is shoes. One of my kid's college boyfriends spent a summer term in Ireland. We never could afford these kind of expenses, but there's a lot of kids that spend an entire semester abroad.

Itsounds like she didn't let the twins go...so ridiculous! The field trips I listed for my kid were just day trips but when I was in 5th and 6th grade we took a weekend field trip to a retreat center in the woods. Oh, but it will be worse I'm sure. The twins will have to keep up with the fashion sense of the others! My kid went to a public school with a VERY wealthy segment. Not all kids like amusement parks or long bus trips and some get sick on park rides. I would think that parents know their own children and how they would do in certain situations. Then, too, it depends on how comfortable a parent is with the adults who are supervising the group. An amusement park is a big place and there are so many areas where a child can get lost or be grabbed by a stalker looking for kids. Not all parents feel at ease having their child go to such a place. Of course, it depends on the age of the child.

I remember chaperoning quite a few trips for younger children. It is a big responsibility, and I had to constantly take a head count to see if everyone was where they were supposed to be. Kids get on and off rides at different times, want to go here and there, and adults must be extremely organized and the trip must be well planned. Too many things can go wrong, and often do. I've seen it happen.

fidosmommy said...

Had my (public) school offered school trips anywhere, my parents would have seriously considered letting me go. Seriously considered it. In fact, my Mom would have happily chaperoned. Besides all the camping trips and regional trips she chaperoned with children and teens, she took 29 (high school) Girl Scouts to Mexico for 2 weeks one year and 5 Girl Scouts to Europe for 3 weeks the next year. She was wonderful to have there. I was proud she was my Mom. She thought travel was so enriching.

I've travelled abroad with 11-12 year olds as a teacher-leader, 41 kids, and I've also been a teenager traveling abroad with a school group to Europe. It actually wasn't bad at all to keep track of them. We never once lost one or had any incidents of note. The worst thing that happened was a splinter on the beach that didn't even require medical attention. Couple things we did is they all wore the same tshirt so it made them easy to spot. Everyone had a buddy to keep track of and no one was allowed to ever go off even just to the restroom without a buddy. We also had a count off system that we did pretty much constantly, with the kids counting off from 1 to 41 so we knew we had everyone. We had a firm policy that if you are lost you STAY WHERE YOU ARE don't move an inch. It's also important to be strict. When we said bedtime at 10pm, you were in your rooms at 10pm absent an emergency. When that rule was broken, you were written up and parents were called. It only took a few parent phone calls before bedtime was respected.

There's no reason organized, responsible and experienced teachers and parents cannot handle a school group traveling. Fear of that tiny chance that something might happen shouldn't outweigh the tremendous benefits of traveling with kids your age. Bad things can happen anywhere, including on vacation with your parents or at school. There's really not that much more risk on a school trip. If anything it's safer, because everyone is, one hopes, being that much more attentive.

Are you assuming that Jon is not getting paid for charity events? Charity events routinely pay for professional services--ie speakers, music sound systems and DJs, catering, auctioneers, entertainers etc. There is nothing wrong with getting paid for his work for nonprofits. It is possible that a donor may have paid for his services, and it is also possible that he is donating his services--we don't have that information. But, having worked on many fundraisers, it is not typical for small business to donate professional services, except fo, possibly, an auction (because if is a form of marketing). Given what we do know about his financial situation, I would think that he would not be in a position to donate his services. And, given that he supports his kids in his home, I don't think he should. After all, because he is performing a service that he personally performs that would mean that he would have to pass up a paying job.

must be minimal, because she still looks like herself!

Who knows how far TFW could have gone if she'd been able
to muster up some charm and attentiveness and concern for
others? But you can't fabricate that stuff -- either you've got
it or you don't.

My daughter went on that trip also--it was a leadership program, right? Had to have a school recommendation if am recalling correctly.

&&&&

They marketed themselves as a leadership program but the truth was they just pulled names from SAT rosters and sent letters to almost everyone telling them they were selected. We were specifically instructed in training we were not allowed to turn down students even though we had to take them through a "interview" process. It was pro forma. If they paid, they went.

It was a complaint a lot of leaders like me had, that it wasn't exclusive like they made it sound, and that that was dishonest. There were some really badly behaved kids in my group who weren't ready to travel. But we still managed just fine, haven't lost one yet!

Now that's kind of a ridiculous statement. I'm an October baby and the cut off for my school district was September. I was always in the older half of my class due to my birthday. Nothing more, nothing less. The non fans can go overboard at times.

-------------------

Yes, way overboard. Unless they live in the area, are school parents, or in some way are affiliated with the school, how would they know if they have friends there, if their classmates have negative feelings about them, or that every child is allowed to go on a field trip? There could be times when there are kids who may not be permitted to go on trips, for one reason or another.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
@Sassccha @Kateplusmy8 I can't imagine how they must feel to know they are only kid in class not allowed to go on field trip with classmates

@Lexis2usc @Kateplusmy8 Kate does zilch to volunteer or even attend school events w/kids. Parents & their kids have very negative feelings.

&&&&

Yes, it's pretty common for kids to travel these days. I think people recognize how beneficial it is in a global society, and they've figured out how to get great group rates for classes.

I grew up in a small middle class town and public school in the 90's and I had numerous opportunities to travel to Colorado and down south with church, Europe with People to People, and Ottawa, Toronto, and D.C. with class or band.

The year before me band went to Florida and the year before that choir went to Austria! Spanish club went to Spain.

None of the trips were really that expensive what with group rates and grip fundraising, and I remember each and every one of them forever. It was great. She should let her kids do the things that other kids are doing. It's normal, it's good for them, they need to navigate the world without her hovering over them.

@MrsMelon35 yay! Glad to know we made it to the UK somehow!Still ‘owe’ my kids a trip there since I won’t let them go on school trips lol!

I think if you just take off the s on trips, it makes sense in context of the handout. The twins wanted to go on the school trip to France, K said no, so she "owes" them a trip. Or maybe she feels TLC does. Note she doesn't mention "owing" them a trip to Nepal, India, China, and Bangladesh; maybe the kids didn't ask to go on those trips.

She may have said "not this year" to the girls, leaving it open as a possibility in later years, and that's what she "owes" them, or she may be against them "getting ahead of her" by going somewhere she wants to go but hasn't been, she may be against trips that TLC doesn't pay for, she may feel there're too young, or she may be against them going anywhere without her, or she may feel if she sends them this year, they'll expect to go every year.

I actually have some sympathy for her on this. I probably would not want to send my grade-9 child on an international trip when there will be similar opportunities for the following 3 years.

I think that partly Kate couldn't handle her jealousy if her kids got to go to Europe before she did. It's not fair! (stomps foot) I think that the rest is about control. Day field trips are one thing but a longer trip would involve way too much time with other kids. What if they pick up bad habits like brushing their teeth in the bathroom or eating the amount of food they want? What if they form a mentor/student relationship with a favorite teacher? They could let slip a detail that leads to an investigation.

The other thing is a lot of high school trips (in general, don't know their school well) are tied to special interests. Band, French club, UN club, cheerleading competition, etc. Does she let them do anything like that?

As far as not dipping into what the kids earn, nobody except those who have access to that money knows exactly how much she has used, and for what reasons, since according to DOL guidelines, she may withdraw money for their health, education, safety and welfare.

As far as the uniforms, I would believe that the reason those in upper grades don't wear them is because this is the transition for them from middle school to upper school, thus it's something for which to look forward. They are growing up, maturing, and becoming independent, and therefore choosing appropriate dress goes along with that.

------------------------
Is your car a Toyota or Lexus? From the Toyota forums, ECT stands for Electronically Controlled Transmission. When you push the ECT power button, the automatic transmission shifts differently. When you're speeding up, it stays in a lower gear longer, letting the car rev more before it shifts. When you're slowing down, it shifts down to use engine braking. That slows you down faster, saves your brakes, and is safer. In general, it gives the car a "sportier" feel. It may mean less gas mileage, though some people say that for them it doesn't.

I have a Toyota "Sport" model, and I don't have the switch. My car is VERY aggressive about shifting down when you push firmly on the accelerator. It's like it says "Gotta pass this car now, we're gonna die, assume warp speed!" I really like it for highway driving. If I'm going to pass, either on a 4-lane or 2-lane road, I want to get out and get around and get back in my lane, pronto. I HATE driving next to a transport truck, especially those UPS highway trucks with 3 trailers that sway all over the place. The sporty mode does take some getting used to, so you don't shift down (go into warp speed mode) when you don't need or want to.

Try it! But keep a light and steady foot on the accelerator when you do.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

The kids have gotten so many trips from TLC, as well as bribes from Kate, it's hard to imagine how a few class trips will spoil them. They'll be just one of 30 or 40 or more, expected to follow rules and to do things without demanding bribes. They can be out and about in a group, not recognized and without Kate demanding all the attention. It's nothing but good for them.

Thanks, Math Girl. I appreciate your research!

It's a Sequoia. I'll try it. I have so many things on my car that I have no idea what to do with them, such as a gear shift thing (kind of like a four-speed transmission that's optional) and something on the left with so many modes (slip differential, I guess for towing other cars out of the sand). All I really want to do is to put it into drive and go! It's a V8, so as you can guess, I've become quite friendly with the folks at the local gas station! I will push that little ECT button tomorrow and see what happens! Now I'm curious.

The links to pictures using pbs.twimg.com can be gotten from clicking on the "properties" of a picture. It gives you the URL for the picture only. Good for Jon on insisting on separating the six for trips and visits with him. It gives them more individual time with him and lets them be singletons not a six pack. If one or two don't want to go somewhere or do something they shouldn't be forced just to make up the party of six.

of them were having a fun day at the pier with their dad, it makes
more sense that she'd want to do something to compete with that. Instead of "keeping up with the Joneses," maybe TFW was trying
to "keep up with the Jonses." Maybe movies will start working
as currency for the younger kids.

Bingo! She has to "win". I can't even imagine the bribing that goes on. They're getting old enough to choose who they live with. She'd better come across with some awesome stuff to barter with. So sad, because of all the things those kids have to worry about, they shouldn't have the added "Sophie's Choice".

Why have half the 6 , and who are the older children-- they belong to girlfriend # 'I lost count'"?

Those kids have had a revolving door of nannies, help, laundry people, crew daddies, tv crews, babysitters.. (And let's not forget exiled family members and 1 dog).

Sorry, i don't think taking some of the kids to their fuckety millionth hotel room (in this instance visitation) is a good idea.
Nothing screams more fun than returning from a working vacation with mics shoved in your face to visitation with dad and the dj venue of the week.
These kids need to see their dad at his home--
Do these kids ever have normalcy?? ( I know the answer, but dang!).
I would think these kids can't wait fir school to start-- there is their normalcy-- at least it's a schedule!

Is that Colin in the pic? I don't know what the kids look like to tell them apart.

You see, TFW has them 99% of the time. That means Jon has
them roughly 3.5 days a year. This must've been one of those
days. And according to the fans, Jon never spends a dime on
them (shiftless loser that he is), so obviously they must bring
all their meals with them!

Why? Kids this age loving going out and about to piers, pizza, minigolf, arcades, etc. All places Jon takes them.

FlimsyFlamsy said...

Whatever the kids were doing with their dad yesterday, I know
it wasn't captured by TLC's cameras for public consumption.
And it was only done once -- not take after take at a director's
discretion. They were able to stop for lunch when they felt like
it, or go to the bathroom when they felt like it. They may
have made plans to do one thing, and changed it to something
entirely different at the last minute if they felt like it. Heck,
they were probably even allowed to be in a bad mood if
they felt like it. And at the end of the day, their dad didn't
get a paycheck for it.

++++++++++++++++

Why does it matter where they are? The thing is that they are NOT working and don't have a camera shoved in their faces. They are with their dad and they probably enjoy being with him, regardless if they are at his home, at the beach, in a hotel, at a venue or wherever. Why should they be at home where there most likely is not much to do? Of course, they could sit there and watch re-runs of their show.

If I were a kid, I'd much rather be on the OC boardwalk than sitting in a room at his house. Weather right now is gorgeous at the beach. Perfect weekend. Ocean temps in the 80s. Great weekend for Jon and the kids, and they can eat Manco pizza if they want to, without her telling them what to eat.. Good for them. School starts in two weeks. Soon enough they'll be sitting at home with her.

So does Steve, a nanny, a housekeeper, or a BFF visiting from NYC or Michigan.

I don't believe a parent is required to be completely alone with their children at all times to be a good parent. I don't expect it of either Kate or Jon. Maybe they like his girlfriend, and enjoy hanging out with her kids. Maybe they enjoy hanging out with Steve, Deanna, and Jamie. They seem to be fine with all those people.

Sherri does not deserve her own cooking show because of the way she acted during the cooking segments on the View. She was gross, disgusting and over the top. She definitely doesn't need to go back on the View. She thinks the earth is flat!

My point is, these kids have to be overwhelmed and exhausted-ish!

We spent our visitation weekends with our parent in a hotel room-- strange rooms, eating in different restaurants, which movie to see THIS time? Going to the mall, it was all just an awkward waste of time-- lots of standing around (just like Jon's kids are doing in that pic).
It's boring. You want to be in a familiar setting, not wondering how to kill more time until its time to eat again (there you can sit snd actually carry on a conversation).
And his living with so many different women is not good for the kids.
(It may sound like I'm a Jon hater, I am not-- but these kids some normalcy, and it appears their only normal is school.

I get where you're coming from. Sometimes, kids just don't get to be kids. Every hour of every day has to be structured and scheduled (not that that is the case with the G kids, they spend too much time at home not doing anything but watching reruns of themselves as babies)

I'm hoping this weekend with their Dad was something they talked about and planned for. I hope it wasn't dropped on them the minute they walked in their dad's door. They are vulnerable all the time with their mother and her keeping secrets. I hope Jon would be sensitive to that vulnerability and keep his kids in the loop.

Seeing the pic of Jon with the kids, it triggers unpleasant memories for me regarding visitation weekends. But who are the older kids in the pic? The girlfriend's?

No, Angie is making assumptions. Of course everyone is entitled to opinions, but when those opinions are based on assumptions rather than facts, that's where one might take exception to an opinion or perspective.

She was assuming that the kids were dragged around to his job this weekend, when we didn't really know if this was a business trip for him, and then his lifestyle is being critiqued when it's not even known how many women he is has lived with, or how many girlfriends the kids have been around, or if he and his current girlfriend are roommates.

It might just be a Northeast thing, but when the weather was nice we were out every weekend and a ton during the week too. Even as children. Doing exactly the sort of things Jon does with his kids. Beaches, piers, arcades, golf. Also swimming, icecream, Shopping, amusement parks, sporting events, and on and on.

The thing is winters are LONG in the Northeast. You really do have to spend a lot of time indoors for much of the year.

I daresay I was much more eager to go out in the sunshine doing something, anything, when I lived in the Northeast, then I ever have been living in warmer climates where there's no fear of being cooped up for the next nine months.

If kids are standing around, it might be because they are hot, tired, or just want to move on to the next thing. It doesn't necessarily mean they didn't want to go out, or are unhappy with their father. Kids are kids.

She once said in an interview that they have put themselves out there, so yes, it is the public's business. As such, yes, she can be criticized. After all, she gave her consent.

Yes, indeed. And since she said it's our business, Kate, honey, you take the good with the bad, not just the praise and kowtowing from the sheeple. Or would that be sheeptowing? If there is criticism involved, well, that goes with the territory.

I must say, though, that I sometimes think that the poking can get carried away, not only here but on her timeline from her non-fans who seem to just throw things out there, fact or fiction, to see what sticks as gospel.

Yes, admin, winters here can be nasty. I just read the forecast from the Old Farmers Almanac. It's supposed to be brutal. I'm heading off to the beach for summer's last gasp.

"This is getting insane. It's beyond just why is this woman still in the election? It's evolved into why is this woman not locked up? Teflon!"

+++++++++++

I have no idea. Trump may be a narcissist, but this woman is as bananas as they come. This is just my opinion, but I think that from Day One, when her husband was elected, she saw herself as the first woman President, and by gosh, she's in this for the duration, come hell or high water. I don't trust her any farther than I could throw her, and that isn't far. She does have balls, though.

"The problem with being president is that anyone who SHOULD be president isn't crazy enough to run for president! LOL! So we're left with a bunch of nut jobs, because nobody in their right mind wants this job."

*******
We're going to the beach for a long weekend in October, then probably visit the in-laws in Florida in Feb/March, then the OBX next May.
I am scheduling warmth and sunshine regularly so I don't get SAD this winter!

Last winter was the worst! It just never ended and was mentally draining.
DH and I were just diagnosed with Vitamin D deficiency.
I am spending a LOT of time at the pool this year!

Oh, geez, Tucker's. It was every other day and it never ended. Just when we thought we were in the clear for a few days, nope, it was the snow, sleet and freezing rain that just kept coming and coming. Every morning I had to set the alarm clock early to check the road conditions/web cams/accident reports to see if I should even venture out. There was no escaping it.
