Leslie, I do agree with your opinion that Anna is probably beyond devastated and humiliated even if she hasn't said anything yet, but it is speculation on my part.
The sisters have said they weren't affected at all by their molestation incident... but then one of them bursted into tears, claiming the public disclosure by the press made them a victim a SECOND time. So my opinion about Jessa and Jill is that they are probably humiliated and devastated beyond what they are allowed to realize yet. But that too, -as for my opinion on Anna-, is pure speculation.
I don't think anyone can say for sure how a person is or isn't affected by an incident: one's perception is one's reality. And, personally, I do perceive being preyed on as a powerless child as worst than being an adult with the power to kick a cheating husband to the curb.
I firmly believe that Josh's sisters said what was scripted by their father for them to say. You know that they didn't go in to that interview without intensive coaching.

(There wasn't anything wrong with the pic looking at it from a normal perspective, but when changed just a bit you could perhaps see an abnormal view( if that makes sense).

Cute story about VB at the deli counter. I had a run in with a celebrity 29 years ago in the grocery store. Johnny Lee, the country singer who sang, Looking for Love (In all the wrong places) on the movie, Urban Cowboy. He and one of his wives or gf were at the meat counter looking at chicken and I didn't realize who he was.
All I knew was I had a 3 1/2 yr. old, a 17 month old and a 6 month old in the cart, around the cart and I wanted to grab some chicken and get out of there. I actually heard him tell her, I'm not saying that I won't eat it. haha Well, I grabbed some chicken and stepped back over to my cart and there was a sweet little blonde haired little girl about 6 yrs. old just oohing and ahhing my 6 month old. So I talked to her and she was asking me about the baby.
So later on in the store it dawned on me that the little girl was Charlene Tilton's little girl! I couldn't believe it. We finally all got to the register and the bag boy just stood down at the end and I had to wrestle all the groceries by myself, while the manager, a man, who was a country fan, went personally and bagged his groceries!
While all this was going on, there was a very bad lightning, thunderstorm outside. Lightning was striking everywhere. Well, I managed to get everyone and everything to the bench to wait out the storm. I was like wow, there goes Johnny Lee and his group walk right out in the storm and rain. Out there with a metal buggy? No thanks!
I read in the paper that he had bought lake front property and saw him on the news saying, X amount of acres lake front for 50K? with a big smile on his face! I wonder if he still has it. haha

There is an old really brilliant episode of Family Guy about how a group of people start their own church around Fonzy from Happy Days. Complete with dogma and rituals and church services. The Fonz be with you.
It's just such spot on commentary about how arbitrary religion can be and how anyone can believe what they want and it's so. It also stands for the idea that as ridiculous as the Church of Fonz sounds, is it really THAT ridiculous compared to what else is out there?

Ot re college textbooks, we have been using Amazon and alternate means to find textbooks since older dd was in college. Depending on the course, our kids have used ebooks, rental books, ordering off Amazon or Barnes and noble, once I even had a copy of a required reading on the bookshelf already (the man who mistook his wife for a hat). There are lots more options than when I was in school!

Foxy, you asked me if it was an assault. I really don't know. I thought Mack thought I was just not valuable enough and therefore that is why he treated me that way. And I did question my behavior which was ridiculous. It was 1974 and everybody wore short shorts and mini skirts. But I was in no way promiscuous in my dress or actions. In fact I was a virgin, extremely shy, and very quiet. My thought was if Mack respected me he would not have chosen me ( his sister-in-law) to repeatedly attack me. Anyway I certainly know that it was not my fault and that his actions were his problems and not mine. You know I was the spitting image of his wife except I was 5'9" and 130 lbs. and my sister was at least 75 to 100 lbs. overweight.

Well, one time after Mack attacked me, I called my other sister (not his wife) and without thinking I blurted out, "Well, I had a Big Mack Attack" again." Laurie laughed out loud and I asked her what was so funny. She said, Leslie you subconsciously said that that you had a "Big Mac Attack". So thereafter we would always refer to these incidents as "Big Mack Attacks". It added some levity to the situation.

I think JimBoob's only got a couple of choices re: financing JoshieBoy's defense when he gets sued.
1. Pay for JoshieBoy's attorney. However, this could really drain his coffers fast. I would think there will be attorneys lined up out the door wanting to take this case, even pro bono, as it could very well set a precedent in this area. I don't remember the name of the attorney who defended Jon and Robert, but I'm envisioning the same scenario.
2. Give JoshieBoy whatever money is due him for all his years of participation in their 'reality' show and set him loose to fend for himself.
If JimBoob chooses #1 and I was the attorney, I'd insist on a public jury trail and/or if a settlement is reached, I wouldn't agree to it being confidential and would insist on clauses for further financial penalties if JimBoob, JoshieBoy or any of the Duggar family try to rewrite history via public statements or interviews afterwards.

As a wise person once said, "You can't get blood from a stone." Josh has no money. Or very little. Ma and Pa Duggar and all the kids and Josh and crew, I think to the seminar about adoption. They stood there at the podium and said with all the kids all around them that they would adopt. I don't know if this was before or after Baby Jubilee was buried in a old ammo box.
I was so horrified and bawled my eyes out when they put that baby in a freaking ammo box. Very small pets have better caskets than that. A shoebox lined with a soft cloth or satin. Jim Bob had the money to get a nice oak box made with a rose stems decorated on it. He could of gotten TLC to pay for it to get made asap, they would of paid for it because it was an episode.
But there was some outrage that they would say that they would adopt with all of the high number of kids surrounding them when they said that while couples who were out in the audience were struggling to have kids on their own and on long waiting lists to adopt. Some got up and left.
The way it was said came across so awful. It was like, well, we want to have as many kids as possible and if we have to adopt, well, we are so superior and famous we can just snap our fingers and have a baby delivered to our door till the cows come home.
Just like ordering pizza.
Speaking of starting up your own Church - I read that a few years ago Chris Jenner founded a new Church in California. If I remember correctly then name of it had something to do with 'life changing'.

The young man could get a lien against Josh's house, future interviews (cause you know People magazine is stupid enough or in TLC's pockets deep enough to do a story on him and Anna in the future), any book deals, speaking engagements, etc. As far as having his life exposed in the tabloids, his name is now out there and I'm sure the reporters are calling his friends, business acquaintances, etc. Everyone has something in their life they are not proud of, but I'm sure his mistakes, bad behavior, or whatever is nowhere near the level of JoshieBoy's. But his privacy has been invaded, he's lost at least one job/gig and I think he's got a good case.

If you put your photo online, (say on Facebook or on a chat somewhere, say as an avatar,) wearing a straw hat with a flower and someone googles "woman with straw hat with a flower", your photo may come up. Heck, maybe you didn't even post the picture, maybe a friend tagged you. It doesn't mean you put it out there to be used.

I do not believe just because you post your photo on the internet it's fair game for someone to steal it and call it their own. You wouldn't steal someone's yearbook photo. The internet does not excuse *stealing* and misappropriation, be it someone's music, photo, artwork or anything else.
How hard has Josh made it for his younger brothers to be trusted by women during courtship and marriage? At the very least the fathers of any prospective girlfriends may be dubious about all the Mr. J. I'm not sure because he only used the picture but surely it's more serious than grabbing a picture and passing it off as your own. Milo and the parrot pic come to mind.
Josh created an actual account and a virtual presence using this guy's picture. That's pretty shady and if it isn't illegal, I think it should be.
We don't know where this pic actually came from and it stands to reason that he never expected or intended for it to be used by anyone in this way.
I understand franky's point too, it's why I stopped using facebook a long time ago. The risks are there and it's a kind of poster beware landscape.
Then again, many companies require employees to create and maintain a virtual presence merely by virtue of modern business practices.

It's the epitome of abusive assholery for any cheating spouse to have their husband or wife stand by them and have to tolerate all of the pitying glances as they do their best Jimmy Swaggart.
This prosecutor thing will be very interesting. A prosecutor is definitely held to a higher standard, to uphold the law to a T. The problem is, he wasn't breaking the law. Unless he was prosecuting people for affairs, this seems like a non-starter. It doesn't look like he's intending to resign or anything like that. The big problem with Josh is that he has been out there making moral judgments about people's lifestyles even though legal, and that is very different than a prosecutor asking people to uphold the law.
I was going to post even before I heard about the prosecutor that I wonder how much traction most other people on this site will get. Like let's say some random celeb like Matt Damon was found on it. So what? Will the public really care that much? It's not like he goes around condemning others for breaking down families.
It probably wouldn't be a wise idea for the prosecutor to say it was a dummy account to look for child porn. That's dicey and he could get into issues of entrapment. Plus he's a prosecutor, not a cop. The cops bring HIM their investigations. He's not supposed to set up his own ring usually, not on his own.
The work-time thing seems like a non-starter too. I'm betting this guy works 80 hour weeks, as a leader prosecutor. He has a very demanding job. Most attorneys don't work 40 hour weeks, they work much more, and with that comes a mix of personal emails and calls from time to time. Any workplace I've been in even spells out in the manual that work computers, cell phones, and so on may be used for personal matters, within reason of course. People understand people have families, kids, other things going on they need to attend to, and employees are happier when they feel like they're not required to completely shut down their personal lives during long hours at work.
It's not unusual for salaried attorneys to combine personal matters and work matters as all one big thing. It's not a big deal, and perfectly acceptable as long as you log the long hours required to complete the assignments. If you were punching in, which most attorneys don't, that's a whole other story. Many attorneys clock "billable hours." That means they are ONLY getting paid for
We do something similar to that actually. Time sheets with each case and how much time spent and what you did, to the tenth of an hour. It may be a pain, but it encourages accountability. It is not unusual at all to see an attorney with time sheets adding up to 50 hours a week, but spending 60 in the office. Those extra, non billable hours are lunches, breaks, and a few personal matters. I wouldn't be surprised if their prosecutors office logs cases the same way. There is even a couple popular computer programs out there designed for public sector attorneys that allows you to easily log your work time, he may very well use one of those programs. Not a big deal.

I don't think it's difficult to believe. I just think that people want proof before they take anything as gospel. I also think that people have become a lot more saavy about believing everything they see and hear, especially since what is so often published on internet tabloids as "exclusives." Sometimes they're right; other times it's just gossip.
If there were prostitution involved, a reputable source will come out with it and confirm it. I really don't think we've heard the last of this scandal.

I haven't researched yet whether there is truth to the prostitution claims on that site but I have to say this. If it looks and acts like a duck it probably is.
I think men are much more wired to appreciate the intent of a site like this, and the proof is in the extremely disproportionate numbers of men vs. women on that site. I find it extremely hard to believe that they could easily come up with that many women who are wired to seek out an affair, much less ones that are all gorgeous models. Sure, certainly there are some women out there who are actively seeking an affair. But it's not common, and I tend to think women more sort of fall into affairs accidentally. It seems like if a woman is having an affair she will often say I didn't see it coming, I never thought it would happen, we just fell in love. It seems like it's usual someone they know. They don't necessarily sign up for a site and pay to find some stranger like a man would be more apt to do. That feeds into a common male fantasy, not a woman's (typical, anyway, there are of course exceptions to everything).
The whole thing is highly, highly suspicious as not just innocent, I'll say that.
Another interesting thing is the site is based in Canada. So we're talking about American law, Canadian law, and possibly even international law. With all that, who the heck knows what could happen.

Wow. There was someone like this profiled on catfish!! I think he was like a small time singer, so most people wouldn't recognize him enough to make them question someone using their photo improperly. For whatever the reason, he has been the victim of dozens of catfish stealing his photos and pretending to be him to impress someone else.

Well as I said earlier, filming is over and the kids are ready to go back to school so she's back on Twitter. What I don't get is if they're just going to put the leftovers in the fridge rather than the freezer, why label them. You can just look through the container or pop the top to see what's inside.

Guess they figured they couldn't hide the fact that they revised it 3 times, so they went back to the second revision. They did leave out the part about Satan that was in the first statement.

FB is notorious for changing something and your privacy settings get changed along with it. A lot of people have no idea how to lock up and would have no reason to think there will be a problem. Luckily, most people in the world aren't assholes who go around stealing photos.

That's right. Plus like I said, the internet is no different than real life. Let's say at your old high school a photo of you is hanging next to an old school trophy of the soccer team when you won your state championship that year. You wouldn't say anyone has the right to open up that cabinet, steal it and use the photo to say it's THEM. Well, the same can be said if you post the same photo on FB. Regardless your privacy settings, that is YOUR image, and no one has the right to steal it and call it their own. You put it out there is not an excuse in real life and it's not an excuse on the internet.

We loved to watch The Crocodile Hunter. I remember when Bindi was little and Steve had her on tv with him and singing and dancing with her "croc men". She really was a natural on camera like her father. They had fun together, and it was fun to watch.

It seems the Keller parents (Anna's parents) are wacky also. They adhere to Gothard's teachings. Anna's older brother Daniel and his wife adopted a child because they were having trouble conceiving. He is now estranged from them because Gothard said the child carries the sins of the father (Joshie?). Susanna had a child out of wed lock, and is disowned. I am not sure of the others. There are 5 girls and 3 boys. Her parents do not want her to divorce because it would make THEM look bad.
