Law and Order SVU: Patrimonial Burden

Last night's Law and Order: SVU was a brilliant ripped-from-the-headlines satire based heavily on the Duggars and other high profile sex abuse scandals, including a side plot pulled from the story of sex offender and Jon and Kate editor Bill Blankinship. If you missed it, you can watch the full episode on NBC.com or below.

Who done it? Was it the pervert camera man who saved naked footage of the girls? What about the creepy older brother who was shipped off to Ecuador for a "mistake"? Could the Warren Jeff-like pastor-slash-lawyer have something to do with this? Are the Bakers really a Bakers dozen or will DNA prove otherwise? Mariska and the team crack the case within the hour with a couple great zingers (Chastity Empire, lol!), a lot of binge watching and some solid detective work. Well done, SVU.

SUV could do an entire episode on Bill Blankenship and his unfettered access to raw footage of children.
You can not tell me that Blankenship looked at all of those reality tv children and never had a deviant thought, or did something terrible with any images of them.
What that disgusting pervert got off on is disgusting.

And others. How many others out there have misused or abused their position as an editor of footage of children?

I think most people who work with children do so because they genuinely like young people and want to help them. But I think some people end up in such careers because they are deviants, and such jobs are an easy, socially acceptable away to have easy access to kids. There is a reason child molesters are innocently disgusted as scout leaders, teachers, and pastors. And production. There was a great exchange in this episode where a newbie detective really wasn't enjoying this case, he was uncomfortable about not crossing the line where you disrespect their religious beliefs, and said I thought I took this job to get rapists off the streets.

Mariska said actually this IS where the rapists are. They are hiding in plain sight, in positions of trust.

I thought it was funny when the younger pregnant detective was a little bit bummed she wasn't given a more lead role in this case. She's like, wait a second I'm the only one on our team who actually WATCHES this show!

When forced to do desk duty while the others got to go out in the field and have fun investigating, she starts binge watching the whole series and putting together a really helpful timeline that cracked the case. Very resourceful.

This episode really was excellent on its own, let alone all the perfect tie ins about the Duggars.

Did you catch how they tried to squirrel their way out of NYC having jurisdiction by saying oh we'll go home and report this to the LOCAL authorities don't worry we promise.

EXACTLY what the Duggars did when Oprah busted them. They knew full well they had the local authorities in their back pockets. They fled the jurisdiction and that was that. How to get away with murder.

Lots of luck trying to get ratings by showing exactly the above, in addition to rehashing what their molesting, predator brother Josh has done.

I hope so, about the ratings, but I can't help fearing that the publicity will draw more rubber-neckers and add to their ratings.

TLC has now had more than 600 sponsors say they won't air ads on the Duggar shows. How many more can they afford to lose? How deep are their pockets? Everyone is aware that TLC is saying the show is about the daughters, but they also know TLC is using this as a way to bring back the whole famn damily. I can't believe how low TLC is willing to go.

Which is why I wonder at people pounding "Stranger Danger" into kid's heads. The overwhelming majority are known to the victims. They are hiding in plain sight.

&&&&

It's well intentioned, but absolutely misguided. Obviously you shouldn't get in a car with a stranger, but you're far more likely to be hurt in your own family home by someone you know than you are by a stranger. In fact in all my years handling child molestation cases, I don't think I've EVER seen one perpetrated by someone the child did not know.

In the rare cases where a child is hurt by a stranger, chances are there's nothing they could have done to prevent it. If they're gonna swipe you up a 7 year old isn't going to be able to get away, and chances are they aim to kill you when it's all over.

There are patterns to TYPICAL child rape. You can't easily just walk up and rape a child and expect to get away with it. The savvy ones groom the child over several months, even years. They find a child they have already built trust with and slowly build up the inappropriate contact, always careful not to do too much in the beginning in case the child tells they can brush it off as an accident or taken out of context. That doesn't work with a random kidnapping.

The problem with stranger danger as well, is that there are a lot of good samaritans out there too. If you're a little kid lost and someone offers to walk you up to the front desk and stay with you until help arrives, it's probably safest to take up their offer instead of waiting around to get kidnapped by someone bad. 99 times out of 100 strangers are nice person who just want to help. How many of us have been helped by a stranger as adults? Or even helped others ourselves!!

Exactly right. In the district I worked in we revamped the security in all areas. We taught safety and provided people they could talk to rather than stranger danger.
I love Law and Order and have watched it from when it first came on the air. They got so many things right. Some of last night's episode I thought was brilliant, but I was a little disappointed with the end. I have known uber religious parents and could just not see the mother flipping like that. I think it would have been more likely that she would blame something spiritually, like Satan and beg everyone to pray and trust in God. They become isolated and have a "them and us" mentality. I think a more realistic outcome is that the Pastor, like Josh Duggar, would claim Satan made a fortress in his heart, and become the victim of this incident in the eyes of his flock.
But the ending they chose left a better "feel good" ending and I could sleep after it was over. So, that was good.

This story makes no sense. If the Judge had rejected Bindi's contract she wouldn't be appearing on the show. I highly doubt ABC would have a contestant on if they didn't have a signed contract in place. Especially since the contract is written more to protect the network than the contestant.

I brought this part of my comment over from the last thread.

I'm glad they portrayed the mother as the simpering fool Ma Duggar is. Unfortunately, the becoming a mama grizzly for her daughters only happens on a fictional t.v. show.

We all know that in real life, that mother would have been told to shut up by the male head of the household. she wouldn't have been allowed to have an opinion.

By and large, I think SUV did a terrific job with that episode. I used to watch the show regularly, but don't really anymore.
Having followed the abuses in reality tv when it comes to exploiting children, and following the Duggar shennanigans, I thought the writers did an excellent job researching the timeline and the facts when it comes to the Duggar scandals.
Besided the Baker mother suddenly becoming a Mama Grizzly, I thought the biggest error was portraying the parents as people who would cancel their show, not care and give it all up when finally realized how their actions put their daughters in danger.
Michelle and JB have fought tooth and nail to stay relevant and I'm sure are as addicted to the fame and money as Kate is.

IIRC that was one of the allegations investigated by the PA equivalent of DSS.
I also recall that the "nannies" were instructed to punish the kids for rule infractions. Perhaps this is covered in Robert's book?

Because I don't think those things fall into the category of take the kids or giving Jon custody.
The judge probably told her to not do that, give fresh food everyday, take locks off door. Then, a follow up to make sure Kate complied.

No judge is going to take someone's kids just for moldy food.

There are pretty high thresholds to meet in order to take away someone's fundamental right to parent their child, even temporary detentions. Most people who lose their kids to foster care are serious drug addicts.

-----

No, it isn't. Can you imagine how tied up the courts would be if every infraction such as this would be reported and a complaint would be filed? If a parent sends a child to school with holes in their socks on a brutally cold day, would the courts take the child away? Of course not. If a banana with a few rotten spots would be sent in a child's lunch, would they go to foster home? Nope. There must be some very substantial allegations of abuse going on in order to remove a child from the home. If a parent files a complaint about minor allegations, the judge will get sick and tired of it and the parent will be told to get their act together...throw out the moldy food and he/she doesn't want to see the parent in court for something like this again.

Justin Bieber shows concern for Kylie Jenner: It's f**ked bro, this lifestyle.

Justin Bieber has a lot of sympathy for his close friend, Kylie Jenner.
In a candid new interview with Billboard to promote his new album, Purpose. Bieber says that " being a child star is the toughest thing in the world."
"I wouldn't suggest being a child star." he said bluntly. "I want people to be more kind to young celebrities...I hurt for some people."
"like Kylie, look at her world: she has been living on TV since she was a kid." he continues. "Every time she looks around she sees a camera, and that's affecting how she's thinking and how she's perceiving people and why she has to do certain things... Situations that happen taint your mind, especially in this industry. Especially for girls. Everything is so (based) on peoples looks and stuff...Look at the statistics on how many child stars have crumbled and turned out to be wack jobs. It's because -- it's f**ked , bro, this lifestyle.
Bieber acknowledges "the fake fantasy world" being a celebrity can sometimes create -- Particularly, when it comes to creating an ego.
"like oh, everything I say is funny. I must be the funniest dude ever," he says about the yes-people constantly surrounding him. "Only to find out, man, do my jokes suck."
Although Bieber is no long a teenager, he is still figuring it out.
Late last month, he stormed offstage in the midle of a concert in Norway, and later apologized to his fans on instagram.
It might seem awesome from the outside, but I'm struggling." he says about his current state of mind. "Certain things broke my trust with people. Situations happen that taint your mind. I started to go through the motions. I felt people were judging me all the time. I came out alive. I came out swinging. But I was close to letting (fame) completely destroy me."
"Empty, lost, like I didn't know myself." he says about the intense phase in his life, before describing the kind of thoughts that would run through his head. "You're not good enough, people hate you, you try too hard."

I found this part of the interview interesting.

Hi There puppy and dog people! So my very sweet labradoodle has one huge problem. She poops in her kennel every night. I have crate trained 5 dogs in my life and never had poops in the crate. I have tried everything. I feed her meals earlier, the right amount, even a little less, eliminate water after 6 pm, make sure she poops before bed. It doesn't matter if I put her to bed at 1:00 am or 10:00 pm, she poops.

Every morning I run the bath, go get her out of her crate, clean her up and feed her. Then I lug the crate outside, clean it and wash her bedding. I am getting so tired of it. She has her second vet appt yesterday and he said she is healthy and keep doing what I am doing. Puppies poop, And some puppies poop more than others. He said as she gets bigger it will stop.

In the meantime, I am cleaning crates and a dirty puppy daily!!!

So last night, I though I would let her try her play yard to sleep in. She pooped in it as well.

She is on a great organic food. It does not give her diarrhea.

I also should mention, she HATES her crate. I mean hates it. It is on the lower level and we sleep upstairs. She barks probably most of the night. I don't hear it because I sleep with a sound machine.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Other than this awful problem she is darling and cute and smart. The vet said not to scold her when cleaning it up either. It is too late. He ultimately said she will stop. I have even tried calming chews because I know she hates it in there.

I am a very bad sleeper. If I moved her crate in my room, I would never get enough sleep.

I am soooooooo tired of cleaning her crate every single day.

You could try dividing the crate in two with a barrier- one living/sleeping area, on the other side, her restroom. Dogs do not like to soil their bed. Maybe the crate is too big? If you put a puppy pad down on one side only you could try training her that way...it will end eventually!. My pup is 5 mos and had indoor accidents till maybe 6 weeks ago, fewer and fewer. Good luck!

Here are a few things I would try.

#1 Is the crate too big for her. If spatially she see a place to sleep and a place to poop, the crate is too big. Can you partition it to make it smaller? If she pooped in her crate, it's no surprise she pooped in her play yard. It's even bigger than her crate.

#2 I would try leaving a radio or tv playing close to her. That way, she'll hear some sounds and not hear anything coming from where you are sleeping.

#3 I would start playing a crate game with her during the day. When she goes in the crate, she gets a special treat. Only wait a few minutes and then let her out. Do this several times a day and finally, give her a special treat that will only be used at bedtime. My guys run to their crates when I take their special treats out of the cupboard. They no longer get one at night, but they do when I'm out during the day and they have to be crated.

Good luck. Pooping puppies are frustrating.

Get your dog's crate in your room and make sure you can hear her whimper, and take her out in the middle of the night to poop.
This is a bad habit to not bust asap.
If you have to, and I've done this, put the crate on your bed with you to make her feel secure. Plus, you'll hear her when she stirs. Then, poop or not, take her out in the middle of the night and reward the heck out of her when she poops.

-------------------------

I agree. She needs to be near the family. Thinking dog psych here, it could be one reason she is pooping is to get attention. Not being around a human at night makes her feel insecure and she is going to "go" because she figures you know that she's pooping and is trying to get you to respond and get her out of the vast unknown and back with you.

She probably barks most of the night? You can't let a dog bark all night. She needs attention. She is probably barking because she needs to go out and you're not responding. Not a good idea. You can't housebreak a dog if she lets you know she needs to go out, she is telling you and you're not responding, Sorry, but I disagree with the vet. As long as you are crating her and she's pooping in the crate, she is going to think that the crate is her personal potty. She will not outgrow it.

Labradoodle (64), I hope you are enjoying your puppy. They are a lot of work, but worth it.

Your little one is talking to you -- probably feels like crying and begging to her. She should not bark all night. She needs you.

We have a small dog with a small bladder. We have a puppy pad in the bathroom for emergencies. But, our dog would much rather go outside. She sometimes sleeps through the night and sometimes wakes me to let her out. Yes, my sleep is interrupted. That is just a part of caring for a pet.

Our dogs chooses where she will sleep. Some nights she is in bed with us. Some nights she wants to be in her own bed which is in a corner of our bedroom. Sometimes she changes her mind in the middle of the night. Yes, my sleep is interrupted.

Just my advice -- you new family member needs to sleep nearer to where you are. You will be able to take her out during the night and she will learn not to take a bathroom break where she sleeps. You will be bonding!

Good Luck!

Dogs are pack animals. A puppy gets used to having a pack to sleep with for company and comfort. You are now the puppy's pack, and it looks to you to be near for company and support. To separate it out to sleep alone, unable to get you to respond to its crying and barking, is simply frustrating to the pup. Also, desperation at not being able to go outside as needed results in messes.

Have you tried puppy pads? My dog parent friends swear by them for puppies and sick dogs.

Some dogs have digestive systems that are sensitive to certain foods or ingredients. It can make them go more often but still not have diarrhea.

I wish you all success in this process. I'm glad you have this blog to turn to. People here care.

Labradoodle Mom....

Sorry, but having a puppy is like having a newborn baby. Would you let your newborn cry all night? You need to get that crate in your bedroom right next to your bed ASAP.
You are going to be losing quite a bit of sleep for the next 6-10 weeks. It's part of the bonding, the training, and the responsibility of owning a dog. Place a quilt with your scent on it in the crate, and sleep next to it for a night or two until puppy realizes you are not going to abandon her/him again.

The way in which it was delivered bordered on being indelicate, I agree, but the advice was sound. If a person went to a physician and he told his patient that she or he is obese with dangerously high blood pressure, is killing themselves with cigarettes, needs to lose weight and quit smoking, would that person disregard the advice because of the gruff way in which the physician spoke?

The puppy needs attention and being secluded from the family at night may be one reason she is having problems with the house-training process. Good luck to you, Doodle. Establishing a routine is sometimes very challenging. Patience, love and lots of hugs to your new pup!

I've had several foster dogs and I usually crate them for bed time, both for their safety and to start crate training them for future families. Most of them all followed a predictable pattern. They cried a few hours the first night, a few minutes the next night, then not at all subsequent nights. The crate was right up next to my bed, on my side, near my face. They could see my face from it and feel my breath.

Sometimes just placing your hand gently on top of the crate is enough to calm them. I never told them to stop or scolded them when they were crying. In the morning their reward for sleeping in there is some snuggles in bed while I wake up, check email in bed, etc. All of them loved snuggling up, no accidents. None of them had problems understanding my bed was my own except on my terms they can come in when I say.

Of course for my own dog....well he's a prince who gets the bed 24/7 :)

When he finally had to go, he thanked her for being grounded NORMAL! No screaming, out of control, acting crazy. He told her that he enjoyed talking to her.

The boy that was kidnapped at 5 years old from Alabama who was found in Cleveland, OH living with his dad said today that he wants to be normal and left alone. What does the trooper do? It is so incredible and brings back faith in humanity and the human spirit and incredible kindness.

There are 2 ways you can give. GoFundMe or a P.O. Box that someone generously went and opened up for 6 months so people could send presents, cards and letters.

Count me in as skeptical of this 911 emergency too. Any good midwife should have pitocin shots in her kit to help with postpartum bleeding and can deal with the situation in much the same manner a hospital would. Unless this was some hack uncertified midwife from the church with just witchhazel tea and a prayer team or something.

And, even if an emergency was developing, usually you have plenty of notice (because you're not being an idiot midwife and are paying close attention) and could have transported her in the family car before things got serious. Even though home birth still isn't recommended by most doctors, true 911 emergencies are still exceedingly rare. Yeah, I'm gonna call BS on that.

Not to get too graphic here, but with one of mine there was no warning with the bleeding. Everything had progressed normally with no complications. It was a textbook delivery. However, just minutes after the baby was delivered and the obstetrician was checking things out, I became a spraying geyser. I mean the blood just came coming, so much, in fact, that he had to jump back and get out of the way. The look on his face is one that I'll never forget. Thank goodness there was a doctor there and not a midwife. I really doubt that a midwife would have known what to do and how fast to act.

With the Duggars, though, I wouldn't believe anything that they put out there. We're not all sheeple with wool covering our eyes and ears.

I've been listening to Undisclosed, a podcast that has shredded the prosecutions case. I am pretty sure that the evidence that is being presented was a result of a Brady violation. The violation is that the defense did not provide a cover letter from AT&T that specified that that outgoing calls locations could not be a accurately derived from cel pings. That was pretty much the only physical evidence tying Adnan to the timeline presented by tea prosecution. An alternative basis is that, if it was provided to the defense, she failed to present it which may qualify for a ruling that his defense was incompetent. The attorney has since died, and had been disbarred due to questionable billing practices and failure to provide contracted services.

I read somewhere (don't want to give them any clicks) that TLC
announced the birth and welcomed Baby Seewald into the TLC
"family." If the poor little dude hears that, he'll probably want to
crawl back in where he came from.

I don't think I've ever had less respect for TLC, which is saying
a lot. After the molestation story came out, they feigned horror
at finding out what happened to these young girls. But they
themselves are essentially exploiting their bodies by making
their pregnancies/births into episodes. We're not talking about
covering an appendectomy. Labor and childbirth puts a woman
in an incredibly vulnerable position -- literally and figuratively.
And I suspect women who were sexually molested as children
might have an especially challenging time with it. So to gleefully capitalize on it by turning it into a potential ratings extravaganza?
I find the hypocrisy mind-boggling. That said, these are grown
folks signing on the dotted line to allow this. Again, what a world.

&&&&

Yep sometimes there's no warning and it's good to be in a hospital for that. But despite recommendations that a hospital is best, the vast majority of home births go just fine especially for a young healthy woman like her, and a sudden emergency is not very common, which is why my smell test for this 911 "emergency" is setting off all kinds of alarm bells. Sure, she could have been that once in a while case where a sudden emergency happened. Or they cooked this all up for ratings. I don't trust this family an inch.

I think you mean the prosecution. The defense doesn't have to follow Brady. It does sound like the cell phone evidence was corrupt, and I agree with re-opening to address that issue.

I still think he's guilty. I find the evidence with Nisha and Jay compelling. I think he's been caught in a whole host of other lies that suggest guilt. But I'm keeping an open mind as he works his way through his appeals.

are repeated, we know dialogue is rehearsed. I remember
when Jon casually mentioned being upset that he had to keep

Who has to worry about "continuity" regarding their personal
grooming habits? Someone with a contract who is a slave

Exactly. There's always going to be bleeding after giving birth. The question is whether it's an emergency or just normal blood loss. They could have called 911, reported the blood, transported her to the hospital--and it all could have been completely unnecessary and dramatized.

The hospital is not going to scold them for coming in for a non-emergency when it comes to childbirth. They'll just be relieved to see a new mother and baby in the hospital, dire emergency or not.

JoyinVirginia said...

Someone posted a link a while back, when Jill Duh-ger posed her "midwife exam", to a blog by an ob-gyn who was exposing the type of minimal midwifery training she had as being much, much less than most states require, and very dangerous because of lack of training. I got the impression that they would have zero medications, because the last midwife certification is so minimal.
So I could accept that there a legit 911 call.
I also realize the family willingness to do anything for ratings and could easily see them making a 911 call when it didn't really need to be done.
Sharing personal experience, when dd had her child, she did fine with delivery but after the placenta was delivered she had heavy bleeding. Of course she was in a hospital with iv access already and pitocin went in immediately and we wouldn't even have noticed except for her ob telling her what was going on.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

I wonder if they had one of those farm midwives who isn't even authorized to stick a syringe in her patient's leg when she's bleeding out. A non-emergency can become an emergency if your midwife can't give you the right drugs for it. A lot of midwives have medical kits with just about everything your doctor has. Just about the only thing they can't do at home is surgery. So assuming you're NOT going to need surgery, your home birth is just as safe as the hospital if your midwife is well trained and has that kit. If not safer, because you're unlikely to be exposed to hospital-borne illnesses like staph.

A big reason women hardly ever die in childbirth anymore is because a simple miracle shot---pitocin. But if your midwife isn't able to give you that, doesn't have the tools a doctor would....suddenly we go back to death rates from 1880.

Oh my Lanta.

We discussed this when first listening to the podcast last year. Her style is terribly ineffective. You have to remember a jury is listening to this day after day, and as much as a jury should look at just the facts and not be influenced by an attorney's voice or demeanor, they're human. If a lawyer is an obnoxious fluttering twit, it can subconsciously influence the jury.

As to the emergency call for an ambulance, I think it depends on where you live. Where I live the hospital really wants you to call for emergency transportation for any bleeding that isn't minor.
The ambulance does not just transport the patient they assess the seriousness of the condition, administer treatments and take all vital signs, history and report how the incident happened. This takes a lot of burden off the ER staff. As far as bleeding it can go from minor to life threatening in a matter of minutes. An ambulance is the way to save lives.
As far as the name of the baby one online site says the letters "J", "M", and "I" are already taken so they suggest Jessa should go with "P" and name the kid People Magazine. LOL LOL I guess they think the Duggars are publicity seekers too.

Hi there. I would get your dog checked for Giardia. Talk to your vet about this. All it takes is a stool sample. It's not something they check for during a routine exam. Our puppy had Giardia. If not taken care of, the dog can die. The symptoms sounds the same as what your dog is experiencing.

re dogs: we foster dogs for a breed specific rescue group. Our dogs sleep in the bed. The fosters sleep in crates. The crates are not in the bedroom, instead the crates are next to the kitchen and living room, so the dogs can get in their space but be close.
When we have had puppies, a good strategy is to cuddle the puppy in bed or lying on the couch until the puppy is asleep, then put the puppy in the crate.

It could be a medical issue but I really would just try letting the poor thing sleep with his human pack first before resorting to spending big bucks at the vet on what is likely just a pack issue. Give it two nights in his crate, right next to the bed, within eyesight of his sleeping owners, with a good ten to twenty minutes outside just before bed to poop and pee. If he's still pooping, call the vet.

"I am hesitant to post anymore about her training. I cringe when posters get called out, and I certainly don't like it when other posters pile on.

)))))))

That is a good idea.
That might be best in your situation and perhaps you can find the answer there. You asked for advice and some took their time to post it and you didn't get a solution to the pooping problem. Perhaps on a dog blog you can find something that will be more in line with your thinking.

However, if you think the puppy is barking all night and you allow it to go on, that doesn't sit well with most dog lovers and you may find that out on any blog. I don't believe that under any circumstances a puppy should be ignored if he/she is barking throughout the night. It just strikes me as being cruel to allow that to go on.

If you don't want to crate in your bedroom, then at least find a place close by where the dog still will be a part of the family. There is no reason a puppy should be separated far from the family. One might have raised ten puppies and house-trained them that way, but not all puppies are the same. This one may be very different and may feel insecure for some reason. If you think the dog is barking at night but you don't hear it because the dog is far away and you sleep with noise, then how do you know when the dog barks because it needs to go out? I have always gotten up at night (sometimes several times) to take the dogs outside. They bark because they need to go out.

You said that you don't agree with having the puppy in the bedroom, but that eventually she will have run of the house. Does that include the bedroom? If so, then I don't understand why then and not now. Perhaps I have missed some of this story. At any rate, the key is love and patience.

I was told once by a seasoned dog breeder/groomer who raised and showed championship dogs that if the puppy pees and poops in the crate, then the crate is too large. Personally, I would not divide a crate because the dog will come to know that half is for doing her business and the other half is for sleeping. You don't want that. I never crated dogs for house-training, so I really don't know, but it does make sense. We do use puppy pads here when the weather is really bad during the winter (ice and snow) and the dogs refuse to go out. The pads really work well during those times.

Leaving a puppy to cry all night seems mean. And then to not check on him, so you self admittedly have no idea if the poor thing is barking all night or not.

I don't know....seems like a puppy might not be the right thing for that family right now. Or at least that puppy isn't.

Could the puppy be crated at least in the doorway of the bedroom for now? So it didn't feel so alone? Leave the bedroom door open, and the crate in the hall?

Maybe it really does need to go out more than once at night while it's still little. Annoying, but that's how it is for the first couple of months with a puppy.
Says the lady who fed her sick cat every hour around the clock, with a syringe and warmed up special cat food for weeks, until it got better.

If you're not willing to meet its needs, and are willing to let it bark all night without checking on it....sounds like this puppy isn't the right one for you.

I'm thinking changing to a puppy blog isn't going to help....they're pretty passionate about their dogs and doing whatever it takes to make them comfortable in their home.

Good luck with the puppy,op...I hope it gets better soon. For the dog's sake as well as yours.

Labradoodle Mom,
I have had Labradoodles for 10 years. labradoodles were originally bred in Australia as companion and service dogs. I don't think that your method of training in which the dog is isolated at night fits with this breed. Labradoodles need to be with their families as much as possible., and that is possibly a big part of the anxiety she is experiencing. There are many breeds of dogs that are more independent than Labradoodles. By and large, they are very easy to train, and I know many who have used crate training. I participate in a large local doodle meetup group, and I have never known anyone who separates their dog from the family. bY and large, I think that this speaks to the kind of person that gravitates to the breed. Most of us are willing to adapt to our dogs needs, because they reward us with complete and utter devotion. It doesn't sound like this breed is a good match for you, and perhaps your doodle would be happier elsewhere. I don't mean this to be judgemental. One of my dogs was a rehome, because the family could not be available to him in the way that he needed. I don't judge them--I think they made a difficult decision because it was in the dog's best interest.

Fired Up 4 Kate @MiloandJack
For you bird lovers there! Be glad you didn't have 2do this Xs 8 at feeding time Kate! :) https://t.co/xemichN22v @Kateplusmy8

Here comes Milo with another bird picture, making it about Kate. Hey, Milo, you moron. This bird is not feeding a baby bird. It looks to me like two birds, possibly the parents, are helping a baby bird in distress. The baby could have fallen from the nest. It is not, however, mid-air feeding time.

I guess when Graham isn't cured of his mistakes we can just blame Canada.

Don't you want him back? It would be a lovely Christmas gift from your country to our country!

Ex-Nurse (190)...

The poster said that she has had quite a few other dogs, but I don't know if they were all Labradoodles. If so, she's had experience with them; if not, then perhaps she is unfamiliar with the closeness that this breed needs. I agree that this dog does not want to be separated from the family, and especially not at night,

Graham can just start his second life away from the cult as Hunter. Then he can kill Kenny.

No thank you :)

I still say he and Kate should go live their own island. And they can take 'Graham' with them.

Can't she see that it's mama birdie Kate yanking baby birdie Collin up by his beak and tossing him into its nest. The birdie on the bottom is a birdie protection agent trying to save baby birdie Collin from mama birdie Kate.

I watched Donald Trump hosting Saturday Night Live. It was pretty good. Sia was the musical guest. I like her music, but the gigantic Weiss and hair boss and person doing interpretive dance is just plain strange.
