I agree. Her story sounded fishy to me from the beginning. He beats her up during rough sex and then she see's him again? From what I understand about her, she doesn't have trouble meeting men, so why meet up with someone who beats you during sex? Unless she liked it, of course, and then jumped on the lawsuit bandwagon after the news broke that he was hanging out on Ashley Madison. It also sounds like Duggar has proof than he wasn't in Philadelphia at that time. And is there any proof that he is into rough sex? Not defending him by any means. I understand that. But the fact remains some women will go back for more when someone is hurting them, even someone they don't know that well. That is not something hard for me to believe whatsoever, because women do it. I have no idea if her story is true, but I can't discount it simply because she went back for more. She's probably not a very well adjusted woman and doesn't operate by the rules you and I would in sexual relationships.

There is no way I would of settled if I was innocent. If you are innocent you fight till it all of the appeals are finished.

If one is innocent and a settlement is on the table, many times you do acccept the settlement because stretching it out for what may be years will cost time and money. If you don't have the money to pay attorney's fees then it will be in your best interest to settle, especially if your attorney has advised you that you have a weak case.

Ha, you're right - it's about the snacks, the commercials, and the half-time show, Since this is the Super Bowl's 50th Anniversary they're planning a big show. I'm not a huge fan of any of the 3 acts, but I think they will put on a good show. I heard Beyonce, Bruno Marrs, and Cold Play will be playing.

Unfortunately, I don't think that will be a reason for lack of viewership because people will watch to see Kate (and Mady) behaving badly. Fans don't care about Kate's excuses and may, in fact, commend her for coming forth as she looks for some kind of forgiveness for her actions.
Viewers may see this as Kate being contrite, "human," and thus say that everything in the past is over and done. They will sympathize with her, and the parents who are fans will commiserate with her. I really don't see it as having backfired at all.

Hi everyone! Flimsy Flamsy, I will join you on the verandah and bring some blue corn chips and peach mango salsa to get the Super Bowl buffet started. Going to the neighbors later, I'm bringing that and some sweet pickles and bottle of Kahlua and a bottle of Kill Devil Rum made with pecans and honey, mix those two and milk and ice to make a White Pirate, yum! IMO she knows nothing more than you or I about the goings on in TFW's life. As for Vann or any other man - I think 'the date' was a one and done activity to produce an episode. No way would TFW fit in with someone like Vann. It's laughable to even think about it.
TLC stinks (#93), I actually don't think Gladys wants TFW to hook up with anyone. As long as she's alone, Gladys gets to keep her job (in her own mind only) as supportive pal, cheerleader, and cyber shoulder for TFW to cry on through the lonely, challenging times being a single mom.
It wouldn't surprise me if Vann was included in the filming if they did a Super Bowl party episode. It would make for a good script to have Vann come over and meet the kids during a neutral time when Kate has other people around too. Kate does nothing with the kids unless they are filming and TLC would have to come up with some excuse to get them all together.
I also think Vann is only in it temporarily. She had gone to too much trouble setting things up with Jeff Millionaire for it to be a one-episode story. Vann is stepping into Jeff's character so I'm thinking he will be around for at least one more episode so TLC can play up the "new daddy" angle in the previews. Eventually Kate will say that she has done it all alone for so long that she can't see anyone else taking that responsibility and will cut it off with Vann. That makes for a nice, tidy story that TLC can try to play up for ratings and leaves Kate to continue her relationship with Steve.

Admin (#98), I'd agree with you if not for TFW's little hint recently about Vann still being in the picture. As MikeB suggested, TLC may've committed to the Vann "storyline" when Jeff Millionaire bowed out. So he may be contractually obliged to appear in 2-3 episodes.
I don't think for a second that these 2 are a couple. But Vann may've committed to doing the show just as a new experience, having no idea of what he was lowering himself to do. Stay tuned!

I highly doubt that Vann was at the house filming. I think Milo's tweet was all speculation hoping to get the haters stirred up and to get a reaction from Kate.

Since Kate tweeted Super Bowl pictures the last 4 years, and didn't say one word about this year, my guess is that they were filming. Although another possibility is that some of the kids went to Jon's.
Last weekend they spent it filming(at Costco and Target), the weekend before they were snowed in, and they have a long weekend this coming weekend, so they'll probably be filming again.
So maybe Jon got them this weekend and Kate didn't want to bother with a party if only half the kids were there. She wouldn't be able to post a picture of all 6 tups watching the Super Bowl if only 2 of them were there.
My first inclination is that Gladys knows nothing and it was just wishful thinking. Kate likes to play the tease game so I don't take much stock in her saying "maybe" when asked if she and Vann went out again. Yes, the kids have school Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, but have off from Thursday through Tuesday. Taking these three days off doesn't bother her in the least. Education means nothing.

I agree. I also 100% feel pulling a kid out of school for filming if not appropriate, especially when this is such an ongoing thing. It's not like this is their one appearance in a movie or one special. Filming has been going on a decade. You as the mother put your foot down and you say absolutely no filming when school is in session, period. She has enough pull with TLC to set some ground rules. Other families do it. It sets a horrible example for kids about the importance of school. Just horrible. School is the only job they should have and it is supposed to be a committment. Not some optional thing you do if you happen to be in town.

I really don't think it's any exaggeration to say this kind of value system transends to many other things in a child's life as they grow up.
Will they be the man that doesn't stick around when their partner falls ill with cancer, loses their job, or has to move for work? Will they leave when someone better comes around?
Will they call in sick say they have a serious infection and go to Disneyland instead for the week?
Will they be that parent who just can't seem to ever make the big game?
Will they expect promotions at work while at the same time not ever being someone you can count on in a pinch or who ever goes above and beyond?
Will they expect more from relationships then they are willing to give?
These are the values she is teaching the children. This is it.
These kids are not learning to work hard, be responsible and committed. Kate has taught them entitlement; and boy, are they in for a rude awakening when the filming gravy train is over.
How soon Kate has forgotten about those "lean" couple of years when TLC dumped her.

So many years those kids have been filming and missing school. This should strengthen any argument from Jon that the filming is interfering with their academics. I remember a long time ago we discussed their absentism and I said even missing a few days because of sickness when I was a kid was tough because of the catch up work. With my own kids, the schools were very strict about granting excused absences. I don't know what their school policy is, but maybe she has some pull because of the amount of tuition she pays so the school always grants it? She is probably pays the biggest tuition total at the school. Anyone know how this private school operates or what their rules are on excused absences?

Where did this come from...the trip to the SB? Did someone on twitter say that they saw the kids there? All I saw is that she was spotted in Vegas.
For a largely non sports minded family, you know Super Bowl for K8 is just an excuse to photograph chips and dips, and a grocery store football cake, TLC taking them to SF for a very expensive outing makes no sense. Especially since they film to show so out of season, who would really care?
Missing several days of school before a scheduled break is so wrong; the teachers must be really annoyed, especially at the upper school level. I rather doubt Katie Irene is making sure they do whatever lessons they brought with them, to wherever they are going. My DIL is a school principal; I have heard her thoughts on this more than once. For some families, a once in a blue moon school removal is generally tolerated, but these kids are regularly pulled out of school to film. Just wrong.

Color me skeptical, but I'm not so ready to believe that Kate and the 8 were actually at the airport in LV, especially since there have been no other sightings posted.
The person who made that tweet could have seen someone with Kate's old hair cut who had a bunch of kids with her, and snarked about it with that tweet. She may have also seen a Kate plus 8 episode on a television or on someone's Ipad or laptop. With the new DiscoveryGo app, you can download episodes to your phone, computer or tablet.
Remember, in the past, there have been reported sightings of Kate in airports that have been proved false. I still remember several tweets about Kate being at LAX, and one of the tabs picked up on it. Later it turned out not be Kate, but Jennie Garth.
So for now, I will take it with a grain of salt unless there are more sightings posted or picture proof.

If they were filming in CA and spotted today in Las Vegas, the children will be truly knackered when they get home what with travelling, stopover in LV and the three hour time difference from the coast. I wonder if they even make it to school on Tuesday.
With the amount of traveling and filming this year, documented early call times (7am on a Saturday to go film plant buying) plus school committments as they are getting older, I think at this point they have to be getting really physically tired of this lifestyle.
And Kate gets tired too, and then tends to snap at them and lose her cool.
No vacation is worth it if you're tired and miserable and have to make up a mountain of homework for it. But as Leah said, it's Kate Plus Kate. It's not about what the children want or even what is in their best interest.

A few years ago I read the manual for the local version of the kids' school. It said that teachers are obliged to spend extra time providing for students absent because of illness, death in family, or other crisis. However, for non emergency and non health related issues, the teacher MAY choose to go the extra mile. It was at the teacher's discretion to agree to it or not. Parents know this going in, it comes as no surprise if a teacher chooses not to.
If that is the norm for this system of schools, I hope there is a fee paid (per child) to any teacher who agrees to provide materials or extra instruction time for kids heading to the sunny skies of somewhere. It's a lot of work that should not even be necessary for teachers.
Of course, Kate's kids are such special ornaments that she expects teachers to fall all over themselves to make sure they continue to be "ranked highest in their class!"

I can kind of understand that the teens and young fans don't get it, but the adult sheeple who keep pestering Kate to film, like Carlene and Denise, seem to be intellectually-challenged as well. Ogle your own kids, or your nieces, nephews or grandchildren. Better yet, if it's entertainment you want, go see a good movie, concert or sports event. School and spending time with dad and friends is a more than 40 hour week schedule right there. That's it, they shouldn't have anything else beyond that.
I've also wondered if, due to being tired from filming, they really don't feel like packing a bag and trooping over to Jon's as soon as they get back. It would be perfectly natural to want to just hang around the house after something like that, watch TV, not go anywhere. The older they get the more they're going to have strong preferences for what they want day to day, and some of that may be feeling too tried to bother with shared custody. That too, is unfair to both the children and Jon.

They've been indoctrinated with 'the show is our life and our life is the show' for ten years. For the sextuplets that's almost their entire lives and for the twins, since they were four or five years old. They've been lulled to sleep with videos of their show on their televisions since they were in their cribs. How CAN they think otherwise? Mommy has convinced them their lives will collapse if they don't have cameras in their faces. Kate's masterminded everything since day one. I know nothing about the child labor laws in California, but it's been pointed out here that in PA no filming of minors is allowed where alcohol is served.

They're half-way there. At age 11, Leah has expressed a remarkable understanding for the fact that this show is Kate Plus Kate, and that it's all about Kate getting to have all the fun.
Her next step is realizing Kate orchestrated it that way, on purpose. Leah is but a means to an end.
They will get there. Missy Francis writes in her book that she was about 16 when she realized this was all about her mother. At that point, she started laundering her own money to herself just to be able to break away someday. She no longer speaks to her mom.

So there have been no other sightings of Kate and the kids, so as I said before, I take what that tweeter said about seeing Kate and the kids in a LV airport with a grain of salt.
I DO believe that Kate and the kids are filming a new season, but where and what they are filming is anyone's guess, unless there are numerous reported sightings.

I agree. Her story sounded fishy to me from the beginning. He beats her up during rough sex and then she see's him again? From what I understand about her, she doesn't have trouble meeting men, so why meet up with someone who beats you during sex? Unless she liked it, of course, and then jumped on the lawsuit bandwagon after the news broke that he was hanging out on Ashley Madison. It also sounds like Duggar has proof than he wasn't in Philadelphia at that time. And is there any proof that he is into rough sex? Not defending him by any means. The story just didn't pass the smell test to me.

I understand that. But the fact remains some women will go back for more when someone is hurting them, even someone they don't know that well. That is not something hard for me to believe whatsoever, because women do it. I have no idea if her story is true, but I can't discount it simply because she went back for more. She's probably not a very well adjusted woman and doesn't operate by the rules you and I would in sexual relationships.

If one is innocent and a settlement is on the table, many times you do acccept the settlement because stretching it out for what may be years will cost time and money. If you don't have the money to pay attorney's fees then it will be in your best interest to settle, especially if your attorney has advised you that you have a weak case.

I think it could also be that Collin and Alexis, always getting the short end of the stick, have finally had enough and desperate to not be the scapegoats anymore, desperate for some affection and maybe just plain at the end of the rope, not knowing what else to do(their siblings seem to be leaving them out of things a lot too) thought that maybe saying No to seeing Jon is their ticket out of misery. "Maybe if I don't go see daddy anymore, mommy will finally be happy with me/will like me as much as she likes my siblings" AND/OR taking a break from being left out/maybe always blamed or treated badly by the rest of the siblings-tups? "Let them go to daddy and I'll stay here and get some peace for a little while.
These are just ideas, I don't know, obviously and to be fair, it all makes me so sad. Whatever the explanation, I am sure it's heartbreaking.

Ha, you're right - it's about the snacks, the commercials, and the half-time show, Since this is the Super Bowl's 50th Anniversary they're planning a big show. Unfortunately, I don't think that will be a reason for lack of viewership because people will watch to see Kate (and Mady) behaving badly. Fans don't care about Kate's excuses and may, in fact, commend her for coming forth as she looks for some kind of forgiveness for her actions.
Viewers may see this as Kate being contrite, "human," and thus say that everything in the past is over and done. They will sympathize with her, and the parents who are fans will commiserate with her. I really don't see it as having backfired at all.

Hi everyone! Flimsy Flamsy, I will join you on the verandah and bring some blue corn chips and peach mango salsa to get the Super Bowl buffet started. Going to the neighbors later, I'm bringing that and some sweet pickles and bottle of Kahlua and a bottle of Kill Devil Rum made with pecans and honey, mix those two and milk and ice to make a White Pirate, yum! It wouldn't surprise me if Vann was included in the filming if they did a Super Bowl party episode. It would make for a good script to have Vann come over and meet the kids during a neutral time when Kate has other people around too. Kate does nothing with the kids unless they are filming and TLC would have to come up with some excuse to get them all together.
I also think Vann is only in it temporarily. She had gone to too much trouble setting things up with Jeff Millionaire for it to be a one-episode story. Vann is stepping into Jeff's character so I'm thinking he will be around for at least one more episode so TLC can play up the "new daddy" angle in the previews. Eventually Kate will say that she has done it all alone for so long that she can't see anyone else taking that responsibility and will cut it off with Vann. That makes for a nice, tidy story that TLC can try to play up for ratings and leaves Kate to continue her relationship with Steve.

Since Kate tweeted Super Bowl pictures the last 4 years, and didn't say one word about this year, my guess is that they were filming. Although another possibility is that some of the kids went to Jon's.
Last weekend they spent it filming(at Costco and Target), the weekend before they were snowed in, and they have a long weekend this coming weekend, so they'll probably be filming again.
So maybe Jon got them this weekend and Kate didn't want to bother with a party if only half the kids were there. She wouldn't be able to post a picture of all 6 tups watching the Super Bowl if only 2 of them were there.

I agree. I also 100% feel pulling a kid out of school for filming if not appropriate, especially when this is such an ongoing thing. It's not like this is their one appearance in a movie or one special. Filming has been going on a decade. You as the mother put your foot down and you say absolutely no filming when school is in session, period. She has enough pull with TLC to set some ground rules. Other families do it. It sets a horrible example for kids about the importance of school. Just horrible. School is the only job they should have and it is supposed to be a committment. Not some optional thing you do if you happen to be in town.

The constant grumbling about school from Kate is always ridiculous. These kids will have no discipline and work ethic. They think life is one trip or freebie after another.
With Colin's special needs, i can't imagine any teacher or therapist would think all of this working and missing school is helping him.
How does she get away with having them multiple weekends in a row. This would be three, unless they just flew out there today. They had their big snow weekend, filming shopping and now this past weekend, if they didn't fly out today.

I really don't think it's any exaggeration to say this kind of value system transends to many other things in a child's life as they grow up.

These are the values she is teaching the children. This is it.
These kids are not learning to work hard, be responsible and committed. Kate has taught them entitlement; and boy, are they in for a rude awakening when the filming gravy train is over.

So many years those kids have been filming and missing school. This should strengthen any argument from Jon that the filming is interfering with their academics. I remember a long time ago we discussed their absentism and I said even missing a few days because of sickness when I was a kid was tough because of the catch up work. With my own kids, the schools were very strict about granting excused absences. I don't know what their school policy is, but maybe she has some pull because of the amount of tuition she pays so the school always grants it? She is probably pays the biggest tuition total at the school. Anyone know how this private school operates or what their rules are on excused absences?

Where did this come from...the trip to the SB? Did someone on twitter say that they saw the kids there? All I saw is that she was spotted in Vegas.
For a largely non sports minded family, you know Super Bowl for K8 is just an excuse to photograph chips and dips, and a grocery store football cake, TLC taking them to SF for a very expensive outing makes no sense. Especially since they film to show so out of season, who would really care?
Missing several days of school before a scheduled break is so wrong; the teachers must be really annoyed, especially at the upper school level. I rather doubt Katie Irene is making sure they do whatever lessons they brought with them, to wherever they are going. My DIL is a school
principal; I have heard her thoughts on this more than once. For some families, a once in a blue moon school removal is generally tolerated, but these kids are regularly pulled out of school to film. Just wrong.

Color me skeptical, but I'm not so ready to believe that Kate and the 8 were actually at the airport in LV, especially since there have been no other sightings posted.
The person who made that tweet could have seen someone with Kate's old hair cut who had a bunch of kids with her, and snarked about it with that tweet. She may have also seen a Kate plus 8 episode on a television or on someone's Ipad or laptop. With the new DiscoveryGo app, you can download episodes to your phone, computer or tablet.
Remember, in the past, there have been reported sightings of Kate in airports that have been proved false. I still remember several tweets about Kate being at LAX, and one of the tabs picked up on it. Later it turned out not be Kate, but Jennie Garth.
So for now, I will take it with a grain of salt unless there are more sightings posted or picture proof.

With the amount of traveling and filming this year, documented early call times (7am on a Saturday to go film plant buying) plus school committments as they are getting older, I think at this point they have to be getting really physically tired of this lifestyle.
And Kate gets tired too, and then tends to snap at them and lose her cool.
No vacation is worth it if you're tired and miserable and have to make up a mountain of homework for it. But as Leah said, it's Kate Plus Kate. It's not about what the children want or even what is in their best interest.

I used to travel regularly for my work. It was exhausting, more exhausting than a day at the office. I would say I hope they are sick of the lifestyle if I thought that would cause Kate to stop. We all know it doesn't matter. Jon had had enough of the church talks, the filming, we saw what happened there.

A few years ago I read the manual for the local version of the kids' school. It said that teachers are obliged to spend extra time providing for students absent because of illness, death in family, or other crisis. However, for non emergency and non health related issues, the teacher MAY choose to go the extra mile. It was at the teacher's discretion to agree to it or not. Parents know this going in, it comes as no surprise if a teacher chooses not to.
If that is the norm for this system of schools, I hope there is a fee paid (per child) to any teacher who agrees to provide materials or extra instruction time for kids heading to the sunny skies of somewhere. It's a lot of work that should not even be necessary for teachers.
Of course, Kate's kids are such special ornaments that she expects teachers to fall all over themselves to
make sure they continue to be "ranked highest in their class!"

School and spending time with dad and friends is a more than 40 hour week schedule right there. That's it, they shouldn't have anything else beyond that.
I've also wondered if, due to being tired from filming, they really don't feel like packing a bag and trooping over to Jon's as soon as they get back. It would be perfectly natural to want to just hang around the house after something like that, watch TV, not go anywhere. The older they get the more they're going to have strong preferences for what they want day to day, and some of that may be feeling too tried to bother with shared custody. That too, is unfair to both the children and Jon.

I'll be gone all day and all night, and you'll never see me. And I'll have to be on my feet all day, so when I am home, I'll be exhausted." I don't think that one could work on the twins anymore -- they've got her number. But I can imagine those sweet boys hearing that and feeling scared and upset for their mom, and worry about losing their house. She's already
asked them if they'll take care of her when she gets old (right on the show, folks -- I'm not making it up), so why wouldn't they be worrying about taking care of her now?

They've been indoctrinated with 'the show is our life and our life is the show' for ten years. For the sextuplets that's almost their entire lives and for the twins, since they were four or five years old. They've been lulled to sleep with videos of their show on their televisions since they were in their cribs. How CAN they think otherwise? Mommy has convinced them their lives will collapse if they don't have cameras in their faces. Kate's masterminded everything since day one. I don't care how many times we've said it, it bears repeating -- those kids are living the Truman Show.
Also, I highly doubt the NFL would allow them to film an episode at the Super Bowl. 156

It does and unfortunately, there are still plenty of sheeple out there who have no remorse for what those kids have to give up in order to appear on their tv's.
Yes, they get "stuff" and trips, but it all comes with a price. Not only is filming work, the kids have had their privacy sacrificed to the point where it's practically gone. Between filming, books and parents who won't just stfu about their utter failure to co-parent, the phrase TMI just doesn't do justice.

I know nothing about the child labor laws in California, but it's been pointed out here that in PA no filming of minors is allowed where alcohol is served.
I hope I see the day the children realize this wasn't about providing them with opportunities as much it was an easy way for their mother to avoid traditional employment, making money by robbing them of a father and their childhood.

They're half-way there. At age 11, Leah has expressed a remarkable understanding for the fact that this show is Kate Plus Kate, and that it's all about Kate getting to have all the fun.
Her next step is realizing Kate orchestrated it that way, on purpose. Leah is but a means to an end.
They will get there. Missy Francis writes in her book that she was about 16 when she realized this was all about her mother. At that point, she started laundering her own money to herself just to be able to break away someday. She no longer speaks to her mom.
When the four visit Jon, they see his lifestyle: no big house, no elaborate trips, etc. Kate does not have to say much, IMO, to reinforce which lifestyle they prefer. These kids are very entitled and despite our hope one day they rebel, for the present they go along with the filming. It will be a long time before they reach the maturity level to look back on their childhood and how they were manipulated. Kate has physical custody and they will do as she says for now. As far as Jon, he has to have played a part in allowing the filming to continue whether it's because of his lack of funds, erratic lifestyle or whatever is going on. My impression is he is not upset about filming because the kids get to go to private school and they live in a beautiful home; he just wants to be fairly treated in regards to visitation.

It's no coincidence that every one of those kids got a bedroom makeover and traded up in the process.
Jon can't compete with that.
I also don't see them filming at the SB. It would be way too intrusive on the other spectators unless TLC sprung for a luxury box which I think costs $200,000+.
If it was indeed Kate spotted at the LV airport I bet she was probably on her way back from Wyoming again visiting Andrea's family. That isn't to say she wasn't filming. It would still make for a good script for Vann to meet her kids in a setting where there are quite a few people around.
@Admin I think some of the kids have her number.Hannah,leah,and the twins.The only interesting part about the show is when the kids throw her under the bus and point out her lies.But SMH even when they do,the sheeple still don't get that.They just think the kids are "joking".Leah didn't sound like she was joking when she said she's moving out as soon as she can.
Forget about Vann. He and Kate are not a match. No way. The only way he is shown again would be some type of contract obligation to TLC. They needed a rich pretty boy bachelor for a reality show. That's all it was.
Sorry, this is OT,but I found a great series that I binge-watched Sunday for 13 straight hours,and someone else on this blog might also love it. It is called 'Bloodline", I just really enjoyed it!

So there have been no other sightings of Kate and the kids, so as I said before, I take what that tweeter said about seeing Kate and the kids in a LV airport with a grain of salt.
I DO believe that Kate and the kids are filming a new season, but where and what they are filming is anyone's guess, unless there are numerous reported sightings.
I wonder if she will tweet about Valentine's Day. That's another twitter "tradition" for her, complete with pictures, like the Super Bowl used to be until this year.
I guess time will tell.
