Coming up on Kate Plus 8, school shopping for clothes, backpacks, and Kate gets distracted by something shiny and starts buying things for herself. This is a literal repeat of at least a couple other back-to-school boring episodes, including Kate buying much more for herself than for the kids. No one in production is even trying to do something original, and why would they when phoning it in is enough? Kate doesn't believe in being fair because that wastes money. She should write a blog post on saving money by not being fair, Dave Ramsey would be proud.
It's always about Kate, Cara explains, who is old enough to be on to her mother but not old enough to realize when she should probably shush, which is my favorite age.
Kate is more orange than usual today in her couch interviews--I would say it's "Trump orange," which is a color I better patent soon before someone else steals it. But in the footage of her packing up the van her hue is back to normal, which is more eggshell white. Hannah gets stress headaches, Kate says as she discloses what should be confidential medical information. At 11 she's stressed? What on earth is she stressed about? Kate packs her into the van with a blanket.
Is that a booster seat? Wtf? I understand the carseat guidelines have shifted to include much older children now (in Pennsylvania, the law is booster seat up until age 7), but these kids are all way too old for that now. Most seat belts will fit children 4'9 and up comfortably and safely. None of these children are that short anymore. Give it up, Kate, they are not toddlers and haven't been for a long time.
It looks horrendous carting a sick child to the mall, I know, Kate says. Correct, it does. So why do it? A set teacher certainly wouldn't permit this or risk losing their license. Kate did the same to one of the boys not too long ago. They have a full time nanny, why can't Hannah stay behind with her? Kate explains this is just a Hannah thing and she'll get over it in a few hours.
There's Shoka again, a mere inches from the moving tires of a several-ton vehicle. Grr!!!
Dowdy Deanna just happened to be visiting and takes the twins off separately at the mall. Why couldn't Deanna stay home with Hannah, and make the twins suck it up and go with Kate and the rest of their siblings? Why do I hurt my brain wondering these things?
The boys say they don't like shopping other than for toys. By the looks of them they don't much enjoy endless couch interviews either as Aaden tosses his head back and lets out a huge yawn.
You know something that I didn't notice much in the past but is really starting to irritate me? How funny-cute Kate thinks she is. She tries to make these little self-depricating jokes and they're just annoying, not funny. "I get distracted by things I want to buy .... maybe I even acted like a person who had never been to a mall before. Did I remind you of someone like that? " She smiles like a goon.
Typically, no one cares what was done in year's past or why or how they need what they need, who likes what or doesn't, and all the whining and begging that ensues.
Joel says they don't want the same backpacks because that makes them look younger. Exactly!! Of course the kids don't want to dress alike or have the same things, contrary to the sheeple claiming maybe they like that. Of course they don't like that, no 11-year-old likes looking like a baby. The only nice thing about the fact that these kids a decade later are still working is that they are validating pretty much everything we predicted about how they likely feel.
I enjoy watching Kate try to reason with a pre-teen. It's one of the few tolerable things left of this God forsaken reality show.
The kids want her to buy them water bottles but Kate passes on that, initially anyway. She says bottles get dirty and disgusting and they leave water in them and she ends up being the one always cleaning them out. I can't disagree there, reusable water bottles are a great idea in your perfect green fantasy but rarely work out in reality. I have a Contiga cup which is an incredible invention, when I get around to cleaning out last month's English breakfast tea.
Half a minute later Kate's buying them water bottles. She is either the biggest pushover in the world or is just trying to be on her best behavior for the cameras. Much like how she parents in general, she only seems to understand the tangible aspect of raising kids, the stuff, the things. She doesn't understand good parenting is not that you bought kids water bottles because they really wanted them, but rather good parenting is making sure your sick child stays home with someone they trust instead of being dragged along on this trip, or better yet shop on another day. Hannah says shopping stresses her mom out. I wonder if that's why Hannah in turn gets stressed out.
Kate selects some tupperware and admits 90% of her shopping is done online. I was just going to say why don't they buy all this crap online like normal people? Does anyone even go to malls anymore? Malls are closing across the country at an alarming rate because people just don't go anymore. You can get better deals online usually anyway, and almost all stores now have a liberal return policy with free shipping no questions asked. You save stress, time, and gas and can try things on in the comfort of your own home. I'm guessing the other 10% of Kate's big box store shopping occurs solely because of the cameras.
During an excruciatingly boring conversation about gym clothes I can hear one of the kids politely saying "excuse me, Mommy," trying to get her attention. She is ignored of course. It makes sense now why these kids shout, scream and stomp around so much. Being quiet and polite gets you nowhere.
We're moving "owwn" to the next thing which is I guess clothes. This could easily have been the same footage from the premiere episode of this season, School's Out! where they went to the department store to buy luggage. It's that similar. Kate's helping Leah pick out some dresses and Alexis wants something too. Naturally Kate's comment about how shopping isn't always going to be fair was about Alexis, the least girlie of the girls. Figures. I'm not sure I even agree with Kate about how it can't be fair. It seems like this can easily be made fair. Give the kids each $50, $75 or whatever your budget is and have them pick out what they want with your approval. They're old enough to handle the money and pick out their clothes and that makes it perfectly fair. That noggin of hers sure thinks funny.
This is rather interesting, I assumed the twins didn't want to shop with the younger kids because they seem to hate sharing the same planet as them, but Mady reveals that actually she doesn't understand why she didn't shop with the other kids since she needs clothes too, and that she "wasn't allowed." Wasn't allowed by whom? Production? Conversely, Kate claims the twins didn't want to shop with the younger kids. I immediately assume Kate's lying and Mady's telling the truth. So was separating them out done to have two separate shopping segments and stretch this out? Hmm!!
Anywho, the twins are with Deanna and picking out stuff and it's all absolutely uneventful and boring. Kate buys their boring stuff and then does that sarcastic "thank you, Mommy," thing that some annoying parents say to their kids when their kids forget to say thank you. In defense of Mady, Kate started it, and Mady explains that she was going to say thank you, was in fact about to say it. I'm going to give Mady the benefit of the doubt on this. They had just bought the shoes, at least give the child until the car ride home to thank her.
This sets Mady off on a snide little tirade, accusing Kate of treating her like a brat. "Thank you, but you can say it to yourself," she snaps, whatever that means. She is I would guess about six months away from saying, "Thank you, but you should be thanking us because that's our money you're buying it with." Just ask the former child actor Missy Francis how old she was when she realized the same about her mother and started embezzling her own money to herself just to be sure she'd see any of it by the time she was 18.
Mady can be trying, she's mean to her siblings and I think the way Kate allows her to speak to her is completely unacceptable, but I also understand what Mady's saying here, and that is that Kate is unreasonable, disrespectful and patronizing to her, yet expects perfect respect back. It's a set-up, it's unfair and certainly very obnoxious.
All Kate can do is sigh and ignore her at this point, and I think she's wise to shut up and just let Mady say her peace. Kate won't take any of it to heart though, which is a pity. A little give and take with this dysfunctional relationship might do wonders.
It's a good thing we're not playing a drinking game this afternoon because I'd be soused to the gills. I just heard two typicallys and an "in general." Kate basically admits she's bribing the kids with pretzels. To buy shoes, or really just to stick around and film? I sense the latter. Mmm, I love mall pretzels. And mall cinnamon buns. That's all I miss about malls now that I don't go anymore like most people. Speaking of which, some of the finest television "short films" were made in a Cinnabon in Omaha. Watch Better Call Saul, the best show on television this year, and you'll understand.
I love the way Lancaster is pronounced in Pennsylvania: Lane-kes-ter. That is the correct way if I may say so. We have a Lancaster here, a medium-sized city in L.A. County but pronounced Lan-caster, and to go with its inferior pronunciation it's a desert with lots of snakes and varmints and not enough gas stations to run your tank down to almost empty and be fine.
How ironic, Kate has wonderful fond memories of her grandparents taking her to the mall. Grandpa gave them each $5 to spend. Sounds like even ole Gramps understands how to make shopping "fair."
The store didn't have a good selection of shoes, didn't have their sizes or the styles they want, and it doesn't look like they ended up buying anything. Remember those days? Now we have the inter-webs, where I promise you can find your size and style somewhere in that vast wonderland even if you might have to resort to ebay. Kate says for the second time how much she hates all this. Well, she makes it harder on herself. All this could be accomplished with a few clicks and a credit card that's already automatically entered by the little green men at Google.
The little people are swimming again, which I realize now was a good excuse for production to try out their underwater camera rigs. They don't come cheap.
We're back with a completely unrelated subplot storyline to plot A, about how they're going to refurbish their picnic table. Kate and the younger kids head to the hardware store. The twins complain that they were not told they were going to the hardware store, they just woke up and they were gone. Sheesh, I hope schmoopy at least left them a note! Assuming it's true, that the twins weren't informed of this outing, this is what I mean by Kate not respecting them. You can't be as rude and inconsiderate as she apparently is to them, then expect respect back. It's a two-way street.
Kate admits she doesn't "typically" take them to do errands like this, but the cameras are here so .... well, she really claims she took them them because this is going to be a whole-family project, but the truth is the kids are just in her way and she's not making any effort to include them in this shopping trip, and this is really about the cameras.
Mady and Cara couldn't be more unenthused about helping to sand the table. They're insufferable but understandable.
Kate pulls out a power sander and makes a whole big deal about operating this machinery. This happened before too, just a couple episodes ago when she worked with a chain saw. I hate women who think its funny and cute when they tackle traditionally male jobs and act all damsel in distress about it. At one time this show recycled plot ideas from a season or two ago, now it's just an episode or two ago. It's like a blond bimbo high-pitched awful version of Groundhog Day, a movie I hate in the first place. Ha, Kate's awful at sanding, it runs every which way taking the scenic route down the table. Either that or she's really playing up the woman fumbling around with power tools gag. Amy Schumer she is not.
Of course most of the kids start to gradually wander away, bored, now that Kate is power sanding and not including them or even letting them try it. What does she expect?
Just an observation now that yet another too long and boring segment is over, but why didn't they pull out the power sander sooner? Why did they all sit there with sandpaper blocks and slave away for who knows how long when Kate had a power sander right there all along that could have done the entire job in 10 minutes?
This is a rhetorical questions I suppose, and the answer to most of my rhetorical questions is usually, because it was being filmed. It makes no sense to do things quickly and efficiently when you're being filmed, then you'd never be able to find enough footage to fill up 60 minutes of this drivel every week. You can only roll your eyes I guess. The kids are half onto all this and will be all the way there soon.

Commercials, and when we get back they're still sanding that god damned picnic table! I feel like I'm in sandpaper purgatory and can't get out. A somewhat new thing they are doing during the kids' couch interviews is have them say the same thing at the same time. It's Children of the Corn creepy.
Amy Schumer here is working with an air compressor now, acting all inept again. Blow me.
Kate's glad the full-time nanny Andrea happened to be there since for some reason Andrea knows about how to stain picnic tables. Why wouldn't Andrea be there? She is their full-time nanny. The kids trickle back in now, interested in painting. Instead of whining about it, maybe Kate should just appreciate what they are willing to help with, little as it is. Finally after two long segments the table is finished, it looks great and the kids are mildly proud of their efforts. It really is amazing what a little sanding and staining can do. That's what she said.
Commercials, this time the promo is about people who are 600 pounds and a network that still pretends watching people pull their rolls of fat out from their pants and roll it around has educational value.
We're back with the third subplot in this episode that's actually related to the school shopping this time, final preparations for their first day of school. Mady makes an interesting comment that it's not cool to be entering high school, though she likes they don't have to wear uniforms anymore. I have never in all my life met a kid who wasn't thrilled to finally be going to high school with the big kids, even if there were a little first day nerves about it. It's just a strange comment. The twins are going shopping for clothes again? The first trip wasn't enough?
They're at one of those small boutique clothing shops that most women can't afford to shop at until at least a decade after college is over and several salaried paychecks later. In typical Mady and Cara fashion the twins are ungrateful, disagreeable and unhelpful to the very nice salesperson helping them who apparently cleared the store out for them. Kate defends their rude and unacceptable behavior by saying she was just like that as a teen. Well, then they get it from her.
Kate can't help herself and goes after all the shiny stuff, grabbing up dresses and blouses and handbags like it's a pop-up swag tent. The twins knew that would happen, heh.
Kate's still defending Mady who is making snide comments by saying it was actually a round-about way for Mady to say Kate looked nice. Lol! Kate, "oh my gosh you look like a human" is not a nice comment no matter how you twist and turn yourself around to make it one. She is the worst, no wonder these twins are the way they are. The music during this segment was pulled from stock 17th century harpsichords, which is random.

Up next, they're going to another boutique??? I really am in shock how much is being repeated and recycled in this episode, and the sheer greed I'm witnessing.
At last the final segment. What's the point in clearing out an expensive boutique for ungrateful teenagers if they don't like anything? Cara is actually arguing with Kate that she has enough summer clothes, she doesn't want anymore, and Mady doesn't seem to want anything at this place. Why in the world is Kate pushing them into buying summer clothes on a back-to-school trip in the Northeast when 95% of your school year will be spent in winter clothes?
Kate complains they're in a phase where they have very narrow likes and don't want to branch out. So? That's normal. At that age I think I had one or two sweaters and a pair of jeans I wore to death, as long as they are washed regularly it's not hurting anything. What does Kate care? Just get them what they like, online, and be done with it. She really picks a lot of fights she doesn't need to.
Mady gives Kate one too many "it's all about you" comments and Kate finally loses her shit, haha. Love it.
A third store???? This is truly agonizing. Just take my word for it absolutely nothing interesting happened here. Kate suggests she and Mady get these completely ugly sweater pants and share them, "share custody of them" she says. Oh yeah cause Kate's so great at sharing custody of anything. Mady, you'll never see those sweater pants again except maybe for a Tuesday night dinner once in awhile but that's it.
It's finally over, and next time we pick out more clothes but at least it's for Kate's fake-date, and her rather cute (!) suitor, nice selection from all those head shots, production! Baw-hahhaa, the side hug and turned cheek at the end of the date. Shade! Cannot wait.
Little people playing with bubbles, and we're out.

I was almost a full year younger than many of my classmates. It did make a difference to me, especially when they could drive and I couldn't, they could sip a 3.2 beer and I couldn't. Sometimes those 8-12 months cause some unhappy feelings.

The research is showing that red shirted children have all kinds of advantages that could set them up for a great start to adulthood. Still, I think she held the children back because of filming, and I'll always believe that.
Conversely, I was a baby in my class. I had JUST turned 18 when I graduated. It never made one bit of difference to me. I actually liked that I was younger than most of my classmates but was still a straight A student with the best of them.
It makes me think it really doesn't make much of a difference one way or another. It's just a year.

We need to rethink the ages children can do things legally now that we know more about the brain and how it develops.

OCDC? Is she sure it isn't ACDC?

I was 16 when I graduated high school. I also started college at 16. It did not bother me in the least or my friends and fellow students. The only one it bothered was my sister who is 14 months younger. She was a freshman in high school and I was a freshman in college. It did not sit too well with her.

I had just turned 17 when I graduated from HS and I was 17 when I entered college that fall. It was no big deal and I don't remember anyone talking about ages in either HS or college. I didn't have anyone comment on my age until after college graduation when I was looking for a job - that's when it seemed to be an issue for some potential employers. lol
Fleecing, I think Kelly had ocd and the twitter person confused it with acdc therefore saying ocdc.
This same person said, anyone seen that movie about that Ben Gazi feller from the office? Didn't Hillary have him killed by them mooslims?

foxy, did you see that Boots got a trailer? LOL!
I love these church women! They are so much more interesting (and fun) than Kate. All they seem to do is squall.

It's sad, I know. They are real people. This isn't a comedy tag team. The mooslim lady is the same one who wants another Boosh in office. She is hilarious.
I'm glad Boots is out of there. Geez...I sound like a Kravitz character!
I've seen ads for TLC's new summer show, but nothing about K+8. It appears that the show has been bumped twice now. I have to wonder if something is going on. Why would they film during the spring, when the kids were in school, and then hold off on airing the shows? Why were they in such a hurry to film that they couldn't wait until the kids were on summer break if there was no rush to air the episodes? The Futon Critic does not show an upcoming season, the TLC site says that the show is not on the schedule…I wonder if something is up.
Sheepless....I love them too. They make me smile out loud. Poor Carla gets walked all over by the others. What they do to her is awful, but she comes back for more. It seems she is the only one with access to a car and trucks these other women around to go shopping or get ciggies go to church, etc.

It's one of those things that just depends on the kid, and being the youngest in the class can be easier on girls than boys.
I wasn't as young as you but I was a baby in the class, part of the back end. But I would have been bored if I were held back in school. I was ready for school and wouldn't have benefitted much from being red shirted. If anything I can see it harming my self esteem to not go on to kindergarten with my preschool peers. I was an A student throughout my schooling years. But for some students being held back can make all the difference in the world.

I really am pretty firm in my belief now she is just filler. The priority shows include the Buzzes and the Duggars and the various little people shows, and they get the best time slots, opening nights, advertising, lead-in specials, social media assistance, and 5 star treatment scheduling treatment.
As they tweak their schedule to give those shows the best possible air dates (or what they are speculating is best), shows like Kate's are used to fill in the gaps. If something is moved, so too does she bounce around. She is the little dutch boy, plugging any holes left. But her fingers are getting pretty wrinkly by now.
I guess programming decisions are all crystal balling it at the end of the day anyway. You have to take into account what other networks are doing too. What might be a good night to premiere a show can prove disastrous if everyone is on some other network watching some big event (i.e. Roots). There are exceptions to the general rules and shows can always surprise you with great ratings or shock you by bombing. I'm thinking of in the 90's when CBS took back the Saturday night slot with 3 strong shows that pulled tremendously impressive ratings when Saturday used to be known as the dumping ground for any crap they thought wasn't going to make it. All of a sudden "crap" put on the schedule's worst night of the week was renewed for the next five years, lol!!
We need to rethink the ages children can do things legally now that we know more about the brain and how it develops.

Agree completely. In Ca they just raised the age of smoking to 21, that takes into account a young person is not old enough to make a good decision about what to put in their body. I'm involved in something rather exciting when it comes to educating the legal community about the teenage brain in order to better serve teenagers involved in legal troubles. I will share more after.

If she were in LA County those kids would be sitting in foster care. The CA Supreme Court case of In re I.J, published just a few years ago.
If their travels or media ever bring them here, I wouldn't chance it if I were them. Stay home.

There was a recent Carolyn Hax advice column on deciding to start kids in kindergarten at age 5 or 6. Carolyn's advice was good but reading the comments was also interesting. Some said it was great to hold kids back. But one said her son was bored with hanging out with younger kids and basically gave up in high school.
The problem is that there are 6 Gosselin kids; they should never have been a group. I think the kids who were ready to be promoted should have been promoted and the others could repeat kindergarten. Kate and Jon needed to make the hard decisions that come with parenting. I feel bad for the kids being blamed for holding them back.

All good points.
That's where developing strong relationships with other parents of high order multiples, instead of distrusting and resenting them, would have helped. The McCauleys have two children with special needs just like Kate has implied she has two children with special needs. They could have offered advice and support about how to make the children with special needs feel included and part of the group without holding other children back artificially. They're doing something right--those kids all seem to adore each other.
It was probably the easy decision to just hold everyone back. That's the helicopter way out--everyone gets the same trophy and nobody feels bad (no matter four kids are prevented from spreading their wings) The hard thing to do would be to split them. That would require a lot more effort to make sure all the kids are happy and comfortable and don't feel badly, and that's not work Kate is up to. I have no idea what decision was best for them, that's all speculation and she may not even see the full extent of it until they're older, whether it was best or not. Time will tell.
The worst thing you can do is hold a kid back who is ready to move on. They will be bored and lose interest in school. The equally worst thing you can do is push a kid forward who is not ready. They will get tired of playing catch up all the time and lose interest in school. Both come with the same consequence, just different roads to get there. I simply cannot imagine being held back from school. I have vivid memories of my early primary years and absolutely flourishing in the challenges. I can still remember the first day of kindergarten, first grade, etc., and much in between. I can remember exactly how I learned to read. I was ready. It's a little unsettling to imagine some of the Gosselins feeling as ready as many kids do at that age, and still forced to stay behind and repeat material they've already done before.
I recently had to do a factory reset on my tablet and found that a big majority of my browser's website links were lost. In particular, I lost the URL to this twitter type site that showed you both sides of a tweet conversation. Just my luck that I can't remember the name of the site. I was hoping maybe someone here also used it and could tell me its name. Near the top of the page it shows the tweets per minute. On the left are links to some current articles. On the right is the live stream of current tweets and any replies.
Can anyone recognize the site I'm talking about?
It was probably the easy decision to just hold everyone back

I don't know where the kids fall as far as being behind or ahead of the curve, but just from observing their upbringing, school is like everything else: done en masse without individualization. Same clothes, always together, isolated, working much of the time, playing with adults and not given opportunities to develop talents, interests and skills (and I don't count school activities in that, although thank goodness they seem to get an opportunity to dabble there).

Here's Kate's twitter timeline.
https://twitter.com/search?f=tweets&vertical=default&q=%40kateplusmy8&src=typd&lang=en
I don't think it's the site you're writing about, and I do remember that, with tweets per minute. But, it does show all tweets to and from.
Titanic, Could the site you're looking for be Twazzup?
@MiloandJack: @Shortnsaszy I'm not sure who they enjoy targeting more...me or Kate! LOL At this stage "all is never well"...but I keep going anyway! :)
Milo loves the attention and is the belle of the ball on her timeline. She's tweeting up a storm but not including TFW in the tweets so you've got to go to her timeline to read them. Her daughter is now 17 and her son is 21. She tweeted this so her haters could be up to date.
Totally believe Kate held ALL six back for filming and they were marketed her six-pack (dress alike although none were identical). I always thought she was disappointed that out of the eight, none were identical.
I remember reading that only two of the kids needed to start late. If a child is developmentally and socially ready, let them move on, IMO. They are distinct persons but even to this day they are referred to as "the little kids" as in one group. Ridiculous.
NJGal51 (#23), and there you have it -- Gladys connects herself to TFW as a fellow victim.
They're linked together by being the brunt of criticism and scorn. If they ever did have that walk along the shore, Gladys would be able to
say to TFW, "I know just how you feel." I think she truly gets off on the abuse, because it
gives her the opportunity to prove her love.

They were held back because the school held them back, not Kate. All of them weren't ready for Kindergarten. Even if Kate would have screamed, stomped her feet that they all should go to K, she would have been told "no." The ones who were ready could have gone, but it was the decision to keep them together rather than split them up. I actually agree with this. There was no harm done in keeping all of them back. Since they had always been together, separating them at grade levels wouldn't have been in their best interest and could have made those left behind feel inferior and just not good enough to be with their siblings.
I wonder what would happen if the non-fans would totally ignore Gladys on Twitter. I mean...TOTALLY ignore her, not tweet, not comment, pretend that she just isn't there. Since she feeds off their attention to play the victim, I'd like to see what happens if she can't bait the haters into this back and forth banter.

$$$
I understand that, but I firmly believe Kate took great advantage of this convenient course of events in order to film more. Even if just one kid needed more time or even no kids, I think she would have held them all back.
I'm not sure anyone can really know whether this decision was best without speaking to the kids themselves, the ones held back when they were ready, and not maybe for several years will they really know if this was the right course of action. They're only 12. They might be 15 or 16 years old before some or all realize they're bored as hell, resent their siblings for holding them back, and would have been better served to move on faster. Or not, who knows.

Never! The haters missed Milo, I'm sure. Without Gladys, they just had Goody to pick on and the occasional interloping fan who happened upon Kate's timeline with a positive tweet.
@Pa Dutch Mom She'll probably come up with something that'll make people want to tweet her, like talking about Kate's body or like that one time ask Kate about the boys underwear.Something as inappropriate as that.

That's how it should be. This is private school though so they can do what they want. They could hold back a kid years if they want. If a parent disagrees they can take them to public school.
I've seen ads for TLC's new summer show, but nothing about K+8. It appears that the show has been bumped twice now. I have to wonder if something is going on.
*****
I saw commercials for K+8 while watching Outdaughtered. They showed old pics of the tups sitting in their custom made table waiting to be fed and then talked about a 10th anniversary show. The graphics showed a date of May 30 for the season premiere. Then nothing was found on their website and nothing showed up on my cable upcoming show schedule.
So... I wrote to TLC/Discovery to ask. In my e-mail I was specific that I'd seen the commercials for the show, said I couldn't find it listed as an upcoming show anywhere, and wondered if it would indeed air on 5/30 or if it had been rescheduled for another date.
I think the person who answered my e-mail looked at the same schedule info viewers are privy to and know no more than we do. Their response was a canned one for whenever something drops off of a schedule; it's not specific to K+8, but it said:
"Unfortunately there are no new airdates available at this time.
This is where they cover themselves: This is subject to change however, so please visit our website and click on the TV Show you are inquiring about. On the show page, click on Schedule. Our schedules are published for the current and following month. If you are not able to locate the programming you are looking for, we recommend checking back periodically to see if it has been added to the current schedule."
I've noticed a number of networks have 'to be announced' on their lineup for the upcoming holiday weekend and/or have marathons of various shows on their schedules, so TLC isn't alone in not having a firm schedule yet for Memorial Day weekend.
...separating them at grade levels wouldn't have been in their best interest and could have made those left behind feel inferior and just not good enough to be with their siblings.
&&&&&&&&&
If you follow that logic, then nobody would skip grades for fear a sibling would feel dumb. You made my point by saying they were all always together and treated as such. I agree that it appears no harm was done. Nobody appears ready to skip a grade. .I am sure part of that is Kate's attempt to keep them babyish for the cameras.

I still say it's telling that Kate's show is being shuffled around whereas others are set to launch.

I have to wonder if Roots is really throwing a monkey wrench in everyone's plans. They might be better off just running marathons of old episodes of various shows that week rather than trying to launch something against that, depending on whether it's a ratings blowout.
I still rememeber this. A high school friend of mine I'm still in touch with on facebook, Amanda, repeated first grade for reasons I don't know. But, she was in my girl scout troop and church Sunday school and she had kept many of her friends she made in first grade her first go around, and watched them all move on, always a step ahead of her.
Around about middle school she had mentioned several times she wished she were in our grade. At one point, she said her parents said she could skip a grade if that's really what she wanted.
So, she took summer school and doubled up her courseload and was able to skip 10th grade. She graduated with us.
She is an example of a kid who really felt ashamed to be held back, and behind their peers. As a result she had to bust butt like crazy during very crucial high school years to get to a place she felt more at home. It's too bad.
If you follow that logic, then nobody would skip grades for fear a sibling would feel dumb.
&&&
I agree.
I'm of the belief you cannot worry about other kids when doing what is best for each child. Each child needs to be treated unique and their needs assessed without regard to what's going on around them.
That's the problem with so many kids today. All the adults are worrying way too much about the OTHER kids, even other people. It's going to have disasterous effects for some kids. Kids are not fragile little glass globes. They get over things, they move on, they thrive in situations adults are sure are going to mess them up. Separating multiples is highly unlikely to cause long term permanent damage. If it does, that's on the adults for not providing the proper support and services to ensure a smooth transition.
That being said I have no idea if this will be the case for the Gosselins, but the general rule is concerning.
Oh and let's keep in mind, Collin is already separated out and going to as I believe has been stated, public school.
All that fuss to keep them together only to have one kid separated out. I wouldn't be surprised if public school or even a different school ends up being a better option for more of the children as the years go by. Some may even end up with Jon and in a different district anyway. That's just how it goes with this many kids, which is another reason trying so hard to keep them together seems misplaced.
&&&&&&&&&&&&
You posted that you think that all of them were kept behind so that Kate could continue pulling them out for filming. I commented that no, some of them were ready and some were not, which is the reason that they all weren't forced to go into a grade if they were socially/academically not ready. Testing would have shown the ones who were ready and who wasn't, and the school wouldn't have given the okay to put them all in the same Kindergarten class if they didn't test on the Kindergarten level, and no matter if Kate would have yelled her head off that she wanted them all to go into Kindergarten, she wouldn't have gotten her way.
As far as siblings being kept behind for fear of feeling dumb, how many times do you think that a school has to deal with six siblings of the same age, at different academic levels? It's a tough call knowing what to do. This isn't a case of twins, where one is behind one grade level in school, and I really don't believe it would have been in the best interest of the kids to separate them at that point because Kate always kept them together as a six-pack, which, of course, wasn't really the smartest thing to do.

Yes, there are. A friend's son attends one of them and it has made the world of difference for that child because each student has the academic/socialization program designed specifically for that child. Of course, the tuition is substantial but well worth it if you have the financial means to support it. Financial aid is available, and the last I heard, approximately half of the students qualify for financial aid on a first-come basis.

Since it's Sunday, I was wondering what the women of the church were doing today. It looks like, in addition to praying for someone's midget wife to grow (or how will she be able to cook?), they also laid hands on one of the granddaughters who wants to be a guy.
"Hart just BROKE in to win jazzy stand up an say she's JASON now in prayer circle sunny Slocomb lay hands on her an we all just pray HARD"
I had forgotten about the practice of the "laying on of hands" in the fundamentalist/evangelical church. I wonder how often it's done to "cure" someone of wanting to transgender.

The Hollywood Reporter posted quotes from an interview Elijah Wood did regarding child abuse
in the entertainment world. He luckily escaped
that experience, and gives part of the credit

TFW live tweeting and getting a request for M's comments. She said M was busy with homework or studying, but soon after tweeted, "Wait...what?" And, tada, her daughter was suddenly available

Of course I am not saying that was abuse. But
I think TFW seems manic during those tweet parties, and her judgment might be a bit impaired.

Really interesting article, especially about how they raised the kids to be independent and do things for themselves. It's usually harder at first, but pays big dividends in the end. For example it's easier to make them lunch than clean up the kitchen mess, but as they mature and you make it clear that cleaning up is part of the deal, it pays big dividends in the end.

No, it's not adorable. It is, however, part of their heritage, their culture. Not all of America is intelligent, non-bigoted, and literate. It is what it is; a throw-back to a time when this is how these people were raised and it's continued for subsequent generations.
In this day and age, it may be difficult to grasp that there are these people who call these places "home," and are quite comfortable, and I dare say, content with this lifestyle. If ignorance is bliss, then these are among the happiness people on earth!

I agree that these are not parodies, sarcasm or snark. These Church Women seem to be real people from that region; their tweets reflect that culture and the people who live there.
Yes, they are bigoted when compared to more progressive Americans at large, but these enclaves exist.
&&&
I've always said progressive America needs to be tolerant of and undersanding of more conservative values as much as they demand tolerance. People can get very wrapped up in the temperature of their city and forget that's not how most of America lives. Every time I see those election maps which are always overwhelmingly red, with just a few small pockets of blue (and yet, blue is often winning!) that just proves my point.
Of course, it's not black and white. Certain things like bigotry is never acceptable, and some of the things happening in these pockets I find very alarming (the bathroom issue being a big one), but most of their viewpoints are harmless even if a bit backwards. Some of the stuff the church ladies claim to believe is not tolerable, but a whole lot of other stuff is much ado about nothing.
Nebraska granny (#88), thanks for that link to
the Jansen quints article. They sound like a grounded, normal bunch.
And Math Girl (#89), I agree about that initial investment of time and attention paying off.
But that kind of commitment to raising independent children probably wasn't going on in the G house, with a mommy who preferred being away from her kids every other week.
I don't think the church ladies go out and deliberately hurt others. They do a lot of praying and make "amints" with their Lord. This is the culture, this is all they know and it is how they have lived all their lives. But I will bet if anyone in their town needed help they would be right there.

Much of what they believe is far from harmless and I feel no need to be tolerant of many of their values. That would be counter to my own values.
&&&&
That's my point. We demand they be tolerant of our values but don't want to be tolerant of theirs.
I'm not going to be tolerant of things that actually hurt people, like bigotry, I get that. But I really don't care that somebody else thinks a woman shouldn't have an abortion or thinks America should practice a more isolationist policy. They have every right to believe what they want. I have every right to believe otherwise. The moment we become a place where everyone HAS to believe what the majority does or what the laws say, *that's* when we're truly fascist. We don't have to fear any of these politicians. What we should fear, though, is homogeny.
Driving back from Nags Head tonight, and DWTS should be recording at home. I'm going to watch Nyle performance when we get home!

Exactly.
I am so confused. Who is asking or demanding anyone to be tolerant of their values?
They also have a right to support the NC bathroom law and to be bigots. That doesn't mean that I nor anyone else has to respect their beliefs.
&&&&
See, I do consider that as different.
You can think and believe certain people shouldn't be in your restroom, but they take the added step of making sure it happens.
I can think the fundamentalists are way off base in their religion, but I don't try to STOP them from believing what they do.
I believe in using the proper channels to promote freedom for the LGBT community. So that means when bigots make a law, it needs to be taken to the courts and on up the chain. That's how civilized people settle disputes. And for the most part, great progress has been made.
I actually think there would be a lot less conflict if there were more respect on both sides. If some of us would just relax about people like the church ladies and let it go. But it's become so incredibly antagonist everything escalates.

"Letting it go" is what results in actions like the NC bathroom law in the first place. When ignorant, bigoted people elect ignorant bigoted politicians to represent them, harmful laws are the result.
&&&&
I understand that, but I believe in appealing to logic and reason and the finest legal minds as opposed to trying to STOP people from having the beliefs they have or electing who they want to elect. That would be wrong too, and hypocritical.
If a local or even state law imagined by bigots is passed, fine, but it is up to those who disagree to take them up the chain. Go to the court of appeal, the state supreme court, and finally the federal supreme court. Appeal to logic and reason. Eventually people progress. Look at how far the courts and people have come around on issues like gay marriage. It used to be overwhelming how many people were against it. Now it's overwhelming how many Americans support it. People like Kim Davis are a joke to most people when she would have been hailed a hero 20 years ago. Through education and progression and understanding, people have come around.
I have faith and trust eventually what's right will rise to the top. It always has.
I like how that group deals with Westboro. Westboro again and again has been upheld on free speech grounds. So this other group said fine if they can have free speech to disrupt a military funeral, we can have free speech to surround that same funeral with people linking hands and protect them from seeing or accessing the funeral. The angels.
I find that far more inspiring and effective and educational to the masses than a court order, which may or may not be legal, that says Westboro isn't allowed to speak.

Last night I was looking at my FB page, something I rarely do. Someone I follow had posted a quote she saw by someone else. It was the tweet from one of the church ladies, the one about Mooslums should go back to Islam if they want ol Shanina law. The tweet that was on my FB was word for word what the church lady said except for the word "ol" which wasn't on the tweet on my FB page.
It made me wonder about these church ladies, although I've always vacillated between them doing some kind of hillbilly parody and being the real thing.
Oh, and the tweet by the church lady was posted May 21. The one that was on my FB page that was tweeted by someone else was tweeted May 22. Strange coincidence.

I really don't think it's a parody. Those Church Women are what they are. What leads me to believe that this isn't a joke is the area of the country in which they live. I think that this "Mayberry" area still exists and these people are the product of that area and the culture there reflects that upbringing. They have photos of happenings there, church get-togethers, parades, etc.
What is so perplexing is their hypocrisy. One of them has a gay son who is getting married, and yet she tweets...
"Nother night an MORE transsexuals on MY news gross men is men an girls is GIRLS you ain't jesus an he makes no mistakes believe YOU me"
Another one has a granddaughter who wants to be a guy, and Grandma is really upset about it...
"Just got off the horn with Leona McCullough. She gave me info for that camp upta C'lumbus that supposed to help kids who think they trans"
Interspersed with their tweets and their praying are tweets to other people on the internet and in their town, just common things like they saw someone at a festival' took their cars for a repair; someone moved, or they put out announcements for pancake breakfasts at church. Normal things.
It's daily living that they tweet about, and I really don't think it's a parody. They appear to be a very religious group who seems to squall a lot. This is who they are.
I don't think it is a parody. I think they are for real. There are cultures in small towns where the people are like these church ladies. Some things with them are quite serious and sad.

I agree, foxy. If you go back and read their tweets, look at the photos, I'm not sure these people could pull off a parody like that. This is their life. It's not a joke. It's not fake.

&&&&
Most laws are about prevention. Some do force you to do things, like drive on the right side of the road or pay your taxes.
In the case of the bathrooms, no one is preventing anyone from their beliefs nor is this a forcing-you-to-do-something law. You can believe all you want that transgendered should be in one bathroom or the other. What you can't do though, is kick them out of a bathroom the law says they have a right to be in. It's a force you NOT to do something law.
They really are wasting a lot of time on this whole thing. Time better spent seeking to prevent child abuse or support those already abused, for one. Volunteer with CASA, Childhelp, or any number of charities.
I can say in 8 years of child abuse not one of the incidents ever occurred in a public restroom that I've seen. I've seen thousands of cases by now. Guess what, they usually occur the way the Duggars' problems occurred--right in the family home right under the family's noses. Maybe these people should seek to prevent people from being in their family homes--that's where most abuse occurs. Makes about as much sense as banning people from restrooms.
In this day and age, it may be difficult to grasp that there are these people who call these places "home," and are quite comfortable, and I dare say, content with this lifestyle. If ignorance is bliss, then these are among the happiness people on earth!
&&&&
I really struggle with how much progressive America should be trying to change pockets like this. I have a few firm lines for me where racism, sexism or discrimination against anyone is not okay. Beyond that though, I'm pretty flexible.
And I never said I was against education. But you have to be careful you're not too paternalistic about it, or trying to socially engineer, believing a more liberal progression viewpoint is always right. Look at Al Gore. Perfect example. What a laughing stock he's become. Thank goodness he was mostly taken with a grain of salt.
This is the Bible Belt, the home of the fundamentalists, the Bible thumpers, the mid-week revival services, the altar callings, the laying on of hands, and maybe even the speaking in tongues. There's nothing wrong with that. This is what they know. They grew up with it. We may think they are racist and bigots, but if you've been brought up this way, then these are their values, their beliefs, and although we may see it as not so harmless, it is the foundation of their religion. I bet they know all the words to "Old Time Religion" ("it's good enough for me...").
It looks like Ms Uggs has a new girl crush, *her* Ginger Zee. She met her and I guess she thinks she is her best buddy now that Kate has pretty much disappeared from Uggs radar. She hasn't given up yet on Strahan, though, nor Kevin Hart (she'll see him in June, up close and personal!).

Re: church ladies and their unorthodox spelling - they probably do speak like their tweets read, but they may write perfectly fine English at work and and at home just save this stuff for social media.
I had a neighbor once who could speak fine, write fine but when she got on MySpace it was crazy. Not exactly code, but very cliquish, as if they had created this style just for MySpace friends who responded in kind. It was a club of sorts. It had to be one of the most unusual things I have ever seen a 50 year old woman participating in.
Her Facebook page was very different. Plain English with correct spellings, etc.
I agree, Foxy @ 123, it's not a parody. These tweets very well could be from my relatives in the Ozarks except my relatives don't have no truck with no new-fangled internets cuz that's how the gov'mint tracks ya. That's exactly how they speak and what they believe. It might be amusing to read but, trust me, a little bit goes a long way. You know what they say...you can pick your friends and pick your nose, but you can't pick your relatives.
fade2black 133. I have met people like the church ladies. They are the real deal. If they get their mind set on a belief, there is no way you will change their minds. It can be aggravating if you want to have an unbiased conversation, but I accept them for who they are and not what they are.
I'm really on the fence about the church ladies. I saw a tweet yesterday morning that really made me wonder. One of the "ladies" said she get a "tex" from Danny, (she supposedly has a son named Danny) who asked her how she liked her rim job? And he said more tonight. She said she only works Thursdays and not at a tire shop. Guess that was supposed to be funny. It just sounded like what a stand up comedian (a raunchy one) would say. And what son would text that to their mother???
OT to PA locals here!
Thought maybe someone could give some advice. We are headed to Newark, DE, this weekend and trying to figure out which route to take from the Pittsburgh area/eastern Ohio (could take I70, 80, Rt 22, through either PA or WV, anything in that area).
We could only find lodging in Perryville, MD, for the region, west of Newark, DE. But we are afraid of trying to navigate around the bypass of Baltimore.
One of the options looks to go through Harrisburg and Lancaster, taking 222 south with a couple of local jogs, to Perryville, MD.
Locals, do you know if 222 might be an easier route south? Wish we could stay closer to Newark, DE, but we won't pay $225 a night just for a bed, lol. Thanks for letting me butt in with an unrelated topic, but the locals here know their stuff. ;)
A dear friend of mine is spiritual but not religious and has been really struggling because her son, also my friend has changed his major from biology and is now going to seminary to be a pastor. He's 20. He's going to a very conservative church now and dresses in polos and slacks. I was struggling with it myself knowing how hard that was going to be for his family to grasp--and we came across this article on an athiest blog.
I thought it was one of the most beautiful statemetns about love and acceptance I've ever seen.
While we should never tolerate causing actual harm to people, there is a lot to be said for allowing people to believe what they like just as we can believe what we like. I have more progressive views on a lot of issues but for the most part I have no interest in forcing other parts of the country to come aboard. Only when they actually ACT on those views, like denying marriage licenses or closing restrooms to people, do I take issue. In many ways, this applies to all the "church ladies" in our lives.
"Consider what you know about your daughter’s personality, which is already about 99.9 percent what it’s going to remain. If from her genes and her upbringing she got compassion, honesty, fairness, acceptance of differences, and respectfulness, then religious or not, she’ll be a daughter to be proud of, someone with whom you can keep and enjoy a reciprocal flow of love.
Don’t sacrifice precious love for so trivial a thing as a difference of opinion about spooks in the sky and magic books.
You asked how do you accept her when you reject her views on religion. Her religious views are just that, views. They’re possessions, not essence. She is not her clothes, or her politics, or her taste in music. She is what receives the love you give. Don’t magnify the trivia and disregard the treasure. In the same way, you are not your views either, so if she rejects your views, she is not rejecting you. You are what receives the love she gives. You can be receptive to her love even though your views can’t be receptive to her views."

Ah. I see.
Perhaps it's a phase, perhaps not. There certainly are worse things than having a pastor in the family, even a non-religious family. Maybe remind your friend of the thousands upon thousands of parents who would no doubt rather have her "struggle" than struggling with a drug addicted child?

The same way some religious parents struggle when a child leaves the faith. For some people it's very important their children share their faith or in the case of an atheist, their lack of faith. For some it even means the difference between seeing their child in heaven (in their mind). This is serious stuff. That article was for all parents, family and friends who have difficulty when a child is on very different pages on an issue that for many people is very serious and important. We're not talking about the price of salt. This is about eternity. I'm sure many people don't care what their kids want to believe and good for them. Their kids are probably better off for it.
We're not talking about the price of salt. This is about eternity.
But if the parents are atheists, there is no eternity is there, just the here and now?

I think for many atheists, it's a matter of feeling and believing just as strongly in science, logic and reason as the religious believe in God. For many that feeling is so powerful that to have a child stray from that path is a failure in parenting. One that leaves them deeply troubled. I understand some view that as a rather silly thing to worry over, but that doesn't make those feelings any less real for those people.
That was the point of the answer to that mother's question, that what your child believes is not what defines your relationship. It was good advice for ANY situation where one is not seeing eye to eye with others.

We use 222 when we go to Elkton, which I think is northeast of Perryville, so that's an option. The thing is that 222 can be a traffic nightmare depending on the time of day, and with the holiday weekend, it's always a gamble. I've never gone there from Pittsburgh area, so I am at a loss here.
If you breeze through Lancaster, let me know and I'll break open a keg for you!
PatK (#148), like her true love, Gladys likes to create an illusion with words. Being "in contact" might just mean Gladys is emailing TFW and TFW

One thing I relish about getting older is obtaining this gift of perspective. For example, if one woman came to me grieving about the loss of her son to religion and another came to me grieving about the loss of her son to drugs I'd know, without a doubt, whose son was really lost. Sadly perspective isn't something you can offer someone like a bouquet of flowers. They have to learn it themselves.
I take it from the comments you make here that in your job you deal with a lot of people in dire straits of one kind or another. Does your agency deal with many people suffering through children who have strayed away from atheism to beliving in God?

I'm glad you have that perspective. Not everyone does. Not every parent is perfectly loving and accepting when dealing with children even adult children and their choices, whatever those choices may be.
I deal in child *abuse*. Not normal disputes, angst, differences in opinion, struggles in acceptance between parents and children. Not sure I follow your point.
Regarding Milo (good name for a Lifetime movie about an obsessive fan). If Kate is such a super sweet woman, then why is Milo so afraid to meet her? It makes no sense. She got all huffy, almost to the point of freaking out when the non-fans said they were going to contact TLC about having Kate meet her Number One fan.
Thanks, PA Mom. I think we will be taking 222 south of Lancaster. There are multiple routes east from north on 80, through Pitt, or south on 70. We're just hoping for the least traffic headache.
Someone suggested taking 272 south of Lancaster instead of 222, so maybe we'll try it. We wanted to stay in Elkton but everything is either full or over $200 a night, yikes. Now I just need to see some mountains or water or it is not vacation time off for me! ;) Usually we are further south, so this is new territory for us.

To add to the frustration of the Church Lady, she found a hair in her DQ malt and was called a racist and is squalling.
Gee i don't know maybe we should ask ma and pa Duggar the difference between Christian love making and Atheist love making.
My father was an agnostic. When I announced to him I intended to enter the Seminary, his response was to ask where he should send the check for my first years tuition. I had not expected that in the least. It was his very clear message that he was not only OK with my career choice, he supported it fully. He understood I had to follow where I was led instead of where his life had taken him. I never once threw Bible verses at him. There was a world of difference in our belief systems yet love and mutual respect held us close.
I don't know if the church ladies are real or a parody. One would think that if they were a parody they'd be going for a bigger audience. None of them has very many followers. They kind of remind me of characters in a Fanny Flagg novel.
I agree that there's nothing wrong with a pastor in the house, but I may be prejudiced because my dad was an Episcopal priest. We had great fun growing up in a small Jersey beach town and being known as the crazy PKs.

OMG, even bigger mass emigration to Canada would ensue! We couldn't do that to our much-loved northern neighbors!
Trump is even closer to the Oval, and not one tweet to support "His Honor".
Ok what in the world are you all talking about about the church ladies? And
Trump is even closer to the Oval, and not one tweet to support "His Honor".

Maybe she doesn't support him. Why is she under any obligation to tweet her support just because she appeared on a silly TV show with him?

It's called networking, Maria. Do you think any celebs "love" their fans or any of the other b.s. they say?
It's good business sense for Kate to support him in his effort. It doesn't mean she'll pull the lever for him, even IF she votes.
Other CA contestants have said exactly this, publicly. Others have outright thrown their support behind him.

Right. I'm not sure why this is an issue. Has every constant on DWTS except Kate tweeted their support?

Not DWTS, but CA. Why would DWTS contestants tweet Trump? What I'm alluding to is Kate's lack of awareness when it comes to her social media, in this case Twitter. She should be using it to stay on the radar, but she's doing almost nothing to keep her 15 minutes of fame. In general, Trump's presidential campaign being one specific example.
And now I'm going to eat my sushi and try to forget I even brought it up. In jest. My head hurts.
Sheesh.
Gosh, I miss AuntieAnn.

You and me both ;-) Humor was as plentiful as Rumspringa.
Tucker's Mom (#170), I thought the same thing
this morning when it was announced that Trump
had gotten all the required delegates -- "Still
no comment to or about His Honor from TFW?"
Then I realized it is possible she's not paying
a bit of attention to the campaign. She admitted she doesn't "see other people," and I suspect
that extends to lots of things in her life.

Yes, sorry, CA. Since I don't watch any of those celebrity shows, they're a blur to me.
Tucker's Mom (#175), sorry your head hurts. But
too bad -- get in the van, because we have 6 hours of back-to-school shopping to film, and we don't want to have to happy you up!

Does Kate know that this is an election year, and if so, does she know the candidates?
She doesn't have to support Trump nor his platform, nor him personally. What would be appropriate would be to tweet him with a "I wish you all the best in your campaign," and just leave it at that. It doesn't mean that she will vote for him, just that she is acknowledging his candidacy. It's social etiquette. You want to be in the public eye, this is what you do.
Gee i don't know maybe we should ask ma and pa Duggar the difference between Christian love making and Atheist love making.

How would Ma and Pa Duggar know anything other than Christian lovemaking? ;)

I agree, and said so many months ago.
This man got her a major job, and my strong sense is that he was doing her a much bigger favor than she was doing him. He has said many times it's highly competitive getting on the Apprentice, he has a lot of people begging for a spot, and she's been ponying up to him for years likely doing the same jockeying as many others before he finally put her on. He did her a favor, pure and simple.
Many Apprentice candidates have congratulated him, being unclear about whether they would actually vote for him, and others have said they will vote for him and made extensive statements about how much they support him and specifically why, offering insight you would only know if you actually knew him personally. A few have said since you asked they probably won't vote for him, but have said so politely. She need not indicate what her voting preferences are, but a polite person offers up a polite congrats to someone who has done so much for you in the swan song of your pathetic career. It doesn't matter if your boss was Hillary, Bernie, or Trump, that's not the point. You need to give some amount of respect to that relationship.

For all you know, she's offered her best wishes privately. Not everything in the world happens via Twitter.
I guess it's getting really boring in Gosselin land as ya'll are grasping at things to pick at Kate about.
If she's doing it for a motive other than politeness, consider this. Trump might reserve a night or two during his presidency, one he is very likely to achieve by the way, to invite some old Apprentice candidates over to the White House.
If Kate's smart and wearing her producer hat, she could get a TLC episode out of this. One that might actually achieve more than a passing interest in ratings.
But if she's blacklisting him out of laziness or just generally being purposely unaware of WTF is going on in our country right now, she's putting that invite, and relationship, in jeopardy.
I'd be shocked if Trump didn't have an Apprentice gathering at the White House sometime in his four years, if not 8 years. This is Kate's invite to lose.
Oh God admin don't give her or Milo any ideas.
Hmmm...One of the Church Women and one of the Kate non-fans are having a little spat!

I'm not sure where this non-fan "pastor" lives, but I'm always up for field trips. Should I bring the Rumspringa in lieu of the communion wine?

Nah, no straw grasping, nor hay grasping, just saying what should be done publicly. Kate tweet him privately? Ha! Kate, who wants her name out there, who tweets celebrities to show that she knows them? Kate, who is brazen enough to tweet companies because she wants freebies? *That* Kate?
We're talking about social media, and what most celebrities do when they know those making the news. They want to keep their names out there. Networking helps; private communication does not.

Kate has notoriously shown an alarming inability to handle her social media presence and self-promotion, as well as basic social skills like politeness. It's just another example of what I believe to be a combination of laziness and stupidity.
This is not grasping at straws. This is a fundamental flaw.
One can only speculate where she would be if she were as good at social media as someone like the Buzzes.

lol! It sounds like the church lady has some good fight in her. No turning the other cheek. It's an eye for an eye and all that!

The same way she communicates with Milo?
Well, they sure are entertaining, those ladies! Bipolar is not bisexual, nor does it mean one is gay!! ;) Those funny women of the church!
"Ansleigh just got diagnosed bipolar why is everyone gay these days???"
Sheepless (#192), well said! TFW has shown
us who she is for a decade. And logical, intelligent people can make predictions on
future behavior from past behavior. Will
the predictions be wrong sometimes? Of
course! But I find it quite a stretch to
imagine TFW using private methods to contact
a high-profile celebrity who is running for
the highest office in the land. This is a
woman who bragged about the high ratings her divorce episode got. She's not shown any inclination towards maintaining privacy.
The non-fan "pastor" scrapping with the church lady is the same one who has been making references to hanging trees & had suggested that Milo hang herself. Nice pastor, hmmm?

I find it neither logical nor intelligent to assume that Twitter is anybody's sole form of communication or to assume that you have any clue about what does or does not happen privately in the life of a person you do not know.
@Maria So why don't you say that to Milo and Msgoody, since they love to tell people that Kate has private chats with them and act like they know everything that goes on in that house. You say that were always here grasping at everything Kate does, but everytime i see Milo or msgoody, they're always there trying to either protect Kate from twitter criticism or try to make her out to be this mother that we never see her act like on the show.
