Coming up on Kate Plus 8, school shopping for clothes, backpacks, and Kate gets distracted by something shiny and starts buying things for herself. This is a literal repeat of at least a couple other back-to-school boring episodes, including Kate buying much more for herself than for the kids. No one in production is even trying to do something original, and why would they when phoning it in is enough? Kate doesn't believe in being fair because that wastes money. She should write a blog post on saving money by not being fair, Dave Ramsey would be proud.
It's always about Kate, Cara explains, who is old enough to be on to her mother but not old enough to realize when she should probably shush, which is my favorite age.
Kate is more orange than usual today in her couch interviews--I would say it's "Trump orange," which is a color I better patent soon before someone else steals it. But in the footage of her packing up the van her hue is back to normal, which is more eggshell white. Hannah gets stress headaches, Kate says as she discloses what should be confidential medical information. At 11 she's stressed? What on earth is she stressed about? Kate packs her into the van with a blanket.
Is that a booster seat? Wtf? I understand the carseat guidelines have shifted to include much older children now (in Pennsylvania, the law is booster seat up until age 7), but these kids are all way too old for that now. Most seat belts will fit children 4'9 and up comfortably and safely. None of these children are that short anymore. Give it up, Kate, they are not toddlers and haven't been for a long time.
It looks horrendous carting a sick child to the mall, I know, Kate says. Correct, it does. So why do it? A set teacher certainly wouldn't permit this or risk losing their license. Kate did the same to one of the boys not too long ago. They have a full time nanny, why can't Hannah stay behind with her? Kate explains this is just a Hannah thing and she'll get over it in a few hours.
There's Shoka again, a mere inches from the moving tires of a several-ton vehicle. Grr!!!
Dowdy Deanna just happened to be visiting and takes the twins off separately at the mall. Why couldn't Deanna stay home with Hannah, and make the twins suck it up and go with Kate and the rest of their siblings? Why do I hurt my brain wondering these things?
The boys say they don't like shopping other than for toys. By the looks of them they don't much enjoy endless couch interviews either as Aaden tosses his head back and lets out a huge yawn.
You know something that I didn't notice much in the past but is really starting to irritate me? How funny-cute Kate thinks she is. She tries to make these little self-depricating jokes and they're just annoying, not funny. "I get distracted by things I want to buy .... maybe I even acted like a person who had never been to a mall before. Did I remind you of someone like that? " She smiles like a goon.
Typically, no one cares what was done in year's past or why or how they need what they need, who likes what or doesn't, and all the whining and begging that ensues.
Joel says they don't want the same backpacks because that makes them look younger. Exactly!! Of course the kids don't want to dress alike or have the same things, contrary to the sheeple claiming maybe they like that. Of course they don't like that, no 11-year-old likes looking like a baby. The only nice thing about the fact that these kids a decade later are still working is that they are validating pretty much everything we predicted about how they likely feel.
I enjoy watching Kate try to reason with a pre-teen. It's one of the few tolerable things left of this God forsaken reality show.
The kids want her to buy them water bottles but Kate passes on that, initially anyway. She says bottles get dirty and disgusting and they leave water in them and she ends up being the one always cleaning them out. I can't disagree there, reusable water bottles are a great idea in your perfect green fantasy but rarely work out in reality. I have a Contiga cup which is an incredible invention, when I get around to cleaning out last month's English breakfast tea.
Half a minute later Kate's buying them water bottles. She is either the biggest pushover in the world or is just trying to be on her best behavior for the cameras. Much like how she parents in general, she only seems to understand the tangible aspect of raising kids, the stuff, the things. She doesn't understand good parenting is not that you bought kids water bottles because they really wanted them, but rather good parenting is making sure your sick child stays home with someone they trust instead of being dragged along on this trip, or better yet shop on another day. Hannah says shopping stresses her mom out. I wonder if that's why Hannah in turn gets stressed out.
Kate selects some tupperware and admits 90% of her shopping is done online. I was just going to say why don't they buy all this crap online like normal people? Does anyone even go to malls anymore? Malls are closing across the country at an alarming rate because people just don't go anymore. You can get better deals online usually anyway, and almost all stores now have a liberal return policy with free shipping no questions asked. You save stress, time, and gas and can try things on in the comfort of your own home. I'm guessing the other 10% of Kate's big box store shopping occurs solely because of the cameras.
During an excruciatingly boring conversation about gym clothes I can hear one of the kids politely saying "excuse me, Mommy," trying to get her attention. She is ignored of course. It makes sense now why these kids shout, scream and stomp around so much. Being quiet and polite gets you nowhere.
We're moving "owwn" to the next thing which is I guess clothes. This could easily have been the same footage from the premiere episode of this season, School's Out! where they went to the department store to buy luggage. It's that similar. Kate's helping Leah pick out some dresses and Alexis wants something too. Naturally Kate's comment about how shopping isn't always going to be fair was about Alexis, the least girlie of the girls. Figures. I'm not sure I even agree with Kate about how it can't be fair. It seems like this can easily be made fair. Give the kids each $50, $75 or whatever your budget is and have them pick out what they want with your approval. They're old enough to handle the money and pick out their clothes and that makes it perfectly fair. That noggin of hers sure thinks funny.
This is rather interesting, I assumed the twins didn't want to shop with the younger kids because they seem to hate sharing the same planet as them, but Mady reveals that actually she doesn't understand why she didn't shop with the other kids since she needs clothes too, and that she "wasn't allowed." Wasn't allowed by whom? Production? Conversely, Kate claims the twins didn't want to shop with the younger kids. I immediately assume Kate's lying and Mady's telling the truth. So was separating them out done to have two separate shopping segments and stretch this out? Hmm!!
Anywho, the twins are with Deanna and picking out stuff and it's all absolutely uneventful and boring. Kate buys their boring stuff and then does that sarcastic "thank you, Mommy," thing that some annoying parents say to their kids when their kids forget to say thank you. In defense of Mady, Kate started it, and Mady explains that she was going to say thank you, was in fact about to say it. I'm going to give Mady the benefit of the doubt on this. They had just bought the shoes, at least give the child until the car ride home to thank her.
This sets Mady off on a snide little tirade, accusing Kate of treating her like a brat. "Thank you, but you can say it to yourself," she snaps, whatever that means. She is I would guess about six months away from saying, "Thank you, but you should be thanking us because that's our money you're buying it with." Just ask the former child actor Missy Francis how old she was when she realized the same about her mother and started embezzling her own money to herself just to be sure she'd see any of it by the time she was 18.
Mady can be trying, she's mean to her siblings and I think the way Kate allows her to speak to her is completely unacceptable, but I also understand what Mady's saying here, and that is that Kate is unreasonable, disrespectful and patronizing to her, yet expects perfect respect back. It's a set-up, it's unfair and certainly very obnoxious.
All Kate can do is sigh and ignore her at this point, and I think she's wise to shut up and just let Mady say her peace. Kate won't take any of it to heart though, which is a pity. A little give and take with this dysfunctional relationship might do wonders.
It's a good thing we're not playing a drinking game this afternoon because I'd be soused to the gills. I just heard two typicallys and an "in general." Kate basically admits she's bribing the kids with pretzels. To buy shoes, or really just to stick around and film? I sense the latter. Mmm, I love mall pretzels. And mall cinnamon buns. That's all I miss about malls now that I don't go anymore like most people. Speaking of which, some of the finest television "short films" were made in a Cinnabon in Omaha. Watch Better Call Saul, the best show on television this year, and you'll understand.
I love the way Lancaster is pronounced in Pennsylvania: Lane-kes-ter. That is the correct way if I may say so. We have a Lancaster here, a medium-sized city in L.A. County but pronounced Lan-caster, and to go with its inferior pronunciation it's a desert with lots of snakes and varmints and not enough gas stations to run your tank down to almost empty and be fine.
How ironic, Kate has wonderful fond memories of her grandparents taking her to the mall. Grandpa gave them each $5 to spend. Sounds like even ole Gramps understands how to make shopping "fair."
The store didn't have a good selection of shoes, didn't have their sizes or the styles they want, and it doesn't look like they ended up buying anything. Remember those days? Now we have the inter-webs, where I promise you can find your size and style somewhere in that vast wonderland even if you might have to resort to ebay. Kate says for the second time how much she hates all this. Well, she makes it harder on herself. All this could be accomplished with a few clicks and a credit card that's already automatically entered by the little green men at Google.
The little people are swimming again, which I realize now was a good excuse for production to try out their underwater camera rigs. They don't come cheap.
We're back with a completely unrelated subplot storyline to plot A, about how they're going to refurbish their picnic table. Kate and the younger kids head to the hardware store. The twins complain that they were not told they were going to the hardware store, they just woke up and they were gone. Sheesh, I hope schmoopy at least left them a note! Assuming it's true, that the twins weren't informed of this outing, this is what I mean by Kate not respecting them. You can't be as rude and inconsiderate as she apparently is to them, then expect respect back. It's a two-way street.
Kate admits she doesn't "typically" take them to do errands like this, but the cameras are here so .... well, she really claims she took them them because this is going to be a whole-family project, but the truth is the kids are just in her way and she's not making any effort to include them in this shopping trip, and this is really about the cameras.
Mady and Cara couldn't be more unenthused about helping to sand the table. They're insufferable but understandable.
Kate pulls out a power sander and makes a whole big deal about operating this machinery. This happened before too, just a couple episodes ago when she worked with a chain saw. I hate women who think its funny and cute when they tackle traditionally male jobs and act all damsel in distress about it. At one time this show recycled plot ideas from a season or two ago, now it's just an episode or two ago. It's like a blond bimbo high-pitched awful version of Groundhog Day, a movie I hate in the first place. Ha, Kate's awful at sanding, it runs every which way taking the scenic route down the table. Either that or she's really playing up the woman fumbling around with power tools gag. Amy Schumer she is not.
Of course most of the kids start to gradually wander away, bored, now that Kate is power sanding and not including them or even letting them try it. What does she expect?
Just an observation now that yet another too long and boring segment is over, but why didn't they pull out the power sander sooner? Why did they all sit there with sandpaper blocks and slave away for who knows how long when Kate had a power sander right there all along that could have done the entire job in 10 minutes?
This is a rhetorical questions I suppose, and the answer to most of my rhetorical questions is usually, because it was being filmed. It makes no sense to do things quickly and efficiently when you're being filmed, then you'd never be able to find enough footage to fill up 60 minutes of this drivel every week. You can only roll your eyes I guess. The kids are half onto all this and will be all the way there soon.

Commercials, and when we get back they're still sanding that god damned picnic table! I feel like I'm in sandpaper purgatory and can't get out. A somewhat new thing they are doing during the kids' couch interviews is have them say the same thing at the same time. It's Children of the Corn creepy.
Amy Schumer here is working with an air compressor now, acting all inept again. Blow me.
Kate's glad the full-time nanny Andrea happened to be there since for some reason Andrea knows about how to stain picnic tables. Why wouldn't Andrea be there? She is their full-time nanny. The kids trickle back in now, interested in painting. Instead of whining about it, maybe Kate should just appreciate what they are willing to help with, little as it is. Finally after two long segments the table is finished, it looks great and the kids are mildly proud of their efforts. It really is amazing what a little sanding and staining can do. That's what she said.
Commercials, this time the promo is about people who are 600 pounds and a network that still pretends watching people pull their rolls of fat out from their pants and roll it around has educational value.
We're back with the third subplot in this episode that's actually related to the school shopping this time, final preparations for their first day of school. Mady makes an interesting comment that it's not cool to be entering high school, though she likes they don't have to wear uniforms anymore. I have never in all my life met a kid who wasn't thrilled to finally be going to high school with the big kids, even if there were a little first day nerves about it. It's just a strange comment. The twins are going shopping for clothes again? The first trip wasn't enough?
They're at one of those small boutique clothing shops that most women can't afford to shop at until at least a decade after college is over and several salaried paychecks later. In typical Mady and Cara fashion the twins are ungrateful, disagreeable and unhelpful to the very nice salesperson helping them who apparently cleared the store out for them. Kate defends their rude and unacceptable behavior by saying she was just like that as a teen. Well, then they get it from her.
Kate can't help herself and goes after all the shiny stuff, grabbing up dresses and blouses and handbags like it's a pop-up swag tent. The twins knew that would happen, heh.
Kate's still defending Mady who is making snide comments by saying it was actually a round-about way for Mady to say Kate looked nice. Lol! Kate, "oh my gosh you look like a human" is not a nice comment no matter how you twist and turn yourself around to make it one. She is the worst, no wonder these twins are the way they are. The music during this segment was pulled from stock 17th century harpsichords, which is random.

Up next, they're going to another boutique??? I really am in shock how much is being repeated and recycled in this episode, and the sheer greed I'm witnessing.
At last the final segment. What's the point in clearing out an expensive boutique for ungrateful teenagers if they don't like anything? Cara is actually arguing with Kate that she has enough summer clothes, she doesn't want anymore, and Mady doesn't seem to want anything at this place. Why in the world is Kate pushing them into buying summer clothes on a back-to-school trip in the Northeast when 95% of your school year will be spent in winter clothes?
Kate complains they're in a phase where they have very narrow likes and don't want to branch out. So? That's normal. At that age I think I had one or two sweaters and a pair of jeans I wore to death, as long as they are washed regularly it's not hurting anything. What does Kate care? Just get them what they like, online, and be done with it. She really picks a lot of fights she doesn't need to.
Mady gives Kate one too many "it's all about you" comments and Kate finally loses her shit, haha. Love it.
A third store???? This is truly agonizing. Just take my word for it absolutely nothing interesting happened here. Kate suggests she and Mady get these completely ugly sweater pants and share them, "share custody of them" she says. Oh yeah cause Kate's so great at sharing custody of anything. Mady, you'll never see those sweater pants again except maybe for a Tuesday night dinner once in awhile but that's it.
It's finally over, and next time we pick out more clothes but at least it's for Kate's fake-date, and her rather cute (!) suitor, nice selection from all those head shots, production! Baw-hahhaa, the side hug and turned cheek at the end of the date. Shade! Cannot wait.
Little people playing with bubbles, and we're out.

Well right, it was someone with 10 years of DJ experience talking about someone with less than a year of experience. Of course he's shit, or was. Ironically I think this very experienced and talented DJ's comments speak to the opposite of what he claims--rather, it's apparent Jon's seriousness about this career. Jon, by this DJ's own admission, sought out the absolute best DJ's in the business to mentor him and help him get his foot in the door when he was starting out. If he were just messing about, he would latch on to any old DJ. Unfortunately one of the most talented DJs turned out to be mental with an ego the size of Texas, as artist types can be. I wonder if this DJ considers THAT's why Jon distanced himself, because of the personality conflict, rather than just, Jon's an ass. I have to admit when I've had friendships where someone's personality develops into something I'm not crazy about, I usually just quietly ghost them, instead of saying look, I don't really like you now that I know you better. I am a coward about that.
Obviously his skills improved with practice or he wouldn't be able to book anything.
The almost sad thing about this is that many people when taking on something like this whether as a hobby or career are going to see pretty quick they suck, and many will just quit. What distinguishes the successes are those who work through that often long period where you feel like you suck and everyone thinks, and might even SAY, you suck, but you stick with it and come out the other side.
The same thing is found with photographers, someone even made a funny chart that I've found to be SOOO true, especially the HDR hole part lol: http://www.dlancer.net/blog_pics/2010_02/stages.jpg
OK, I had no idea what that was about. Drama always when it comes to the Gosselins I guess.
&&&&
I think that's true and I think drama just follows you if you're rich and famous or people THINK you have deep pockets. My God, I couldn't believe all the crap the celebrity I worked for went through when it came to this stuff. The first lawsuit that happened shocked me, when the next three or four followed I got used to it realized oh ok this stuff happens all the time.
They may not have been the best parents but they were low-drama people when it came to their professional lives. They were known as professional, low key on sets, never caused any major problems. But the conflicts and lawsuits stuck to them like fly paper.
Older son got into a tiny fender bender. Huge lawsuit when they found out the family had money.
They got sued when a younger child got in a little scuffle with another child and there were MINOR injuries, a scuffle not any different than the kind kids get into all over the country all the time, most people make the KIDS apologize and move the F on. Nope, sued.
Someone on staff was misappropriating money, that was a whole other suit.
Production company got sued for a dispute over missing workdays, they had suits over their property a couple different things.
Of course there were all kinds of crap with the divorces.
So maybe some of those disputes were legitimate but I'm flat out convinced most of them were because they were going after a payday. It is not worth it to be a celebrity. It really isn't. You pretty much need a full time lawyer on staff, and you could spend a huge chunk of your take home pay on "fixers."
Hearing more of the details about this DJ conflict, I wonder if the other dude was also just straight up jealous of Jon? D-lister though he made be, Jon has a famous name, and probably generated a lot more attention and publicity than the other guy. By being known, Jon probably was further ahead than he was right out of the gate,
which may have stung to someone who's been working at the same career for years.
Oh, and from now on, I want to be known by my

I'm glad other poster posted that article because I completely forgot or maybe never even noticed how INTERESTING it is. Just in terms of a good example of the kind of dynamics and difficult personalities in that industry anyone in it will need to navigate. No thank you.
You could be right, definitely based on what he's saying. He keeps mentioning he has a decade of experience. That's obviously a point of pride for him. Talented and famous "fill-in-the-blank" takes on shitty no-good D-list amateur and develops them into something decent enough to start getting work. As amateur starts to realize their career has kick started and they're okay to go it alone now, they need older talent less and less. It's not personal, it's a matter of trying to focus. Now one would hope that older talent would be happy to watch the bird leave the nest, but for someone with an ego, not so much. He seems to be implying Jon "owes" him and is resentful that someone he thinks is still crappy at what they do and doesn't respect the profession like he does, whatever that means, is inexplicably sailing far and beyond them. I get it. It's a very different dynamic from Beth whose dispute doesn't seem to bear much resemblance to this because Beth isn't someone famous pissed off that now Kate is too. Kate was famous first, not Beth first. Actually Beth is Jon, and Kate is the older DJ, if you want to make that comparison to this!

To FunkyFreshFlimsyFlamsy -- I am working on my DJ name. Might take awhile!
OT, but I recommend watching a PBS show "Call The Midwife", and "Grantchester" is excellent too with a "yummy vicar" as Rose would say on "Keeping Up Appearances".
It's been about a year since I posted on here. I had forgotten about Kate and TLC. My question is, why does she still have a show? I cannot imagine that the ratings are that great that TLC thinks she's a bankable "star".
I haven't watched TLC in a long, long time. Once in a while I may catch an episode of The Little Couple, if I'm channel surfing, but generally speaking, TLC is not one of the channels on my priority list. Since we got ME TV I watch a lot of the old shows on there, when people actually had to have talent to be on TV, not like people with no talent, like Kate.
But anyway, it's good to see everyone on here. I see so many names that I know have been posting here for years. I'm glad to see this blog still going. This is one of the better managed, warmest blogs on the Internet, IMHO.
LisaNH (#7), nice to see you! I, too, am a fan
of ME TV. I especially like the Sunday Funnies lineup, where I can catch one of my all-time favorites, the Mary Tyler Moore Show. There's another show that went out on top, in my opinion.
Dmasy (#5), please don't rush your choice on a DJ name. It is, with no exaggeration, the single most important decision you'll make in your life!
LIsaNH, Agree. I never watch TLC. Total trash as is most reality TV. I really like the British shows and I got hooked years ago watching BBC America. For US shows, my husband and I are enjoying "Black List", "Better Call Saul", "House of Cards" and "Hell on Wheels". We recommend these all the time and occasionally I run across a few who have seen never seen "Breaking Bad". When Saul runs its course, I am going to binge BB again. Best acting ever.
Hi, LisaNH. Good to see your name. I hope you are well.
My TLC relationship is just about the same as you described yours to be. I have never declared a structured boycott. I just stopped watching. There isn't a program of interest.
What I know about Kate's shows are exactly (and totally) what Admin shares in a humorous re cap.
Hi Dmasy. Good see your name too. I know exactly what you mean about TLC, there is nothing of interest on there now. And yes, Admin's recaps are comical. I just feel bad that she has to sit through those episodes to do the recaps. Ugh.
But again, I cannot fathom why anyone, at this point, has any interest in watching Kate's show (aside from comical recaps that is).

I read this as Sunday FUNDIES, and thought you were talking about the Duggar marathons they always do on the weekends!
Certainly that would be very sweet, anon for this one, go for it. Just know though the reason Redbird is not posting is not because of a computer issue anymore, just in case you were thinking that.
Well, post my comment so we can figure out a safe way to make donations. Let's get everyone involved. If her computer is fixed maybe we can do something else, like Amazon gift cards.

The only TLC show I watch is "My 600-pound Life." It really isn't a trash show, much to my surprise. It's a decent documentary on the lives of morbidly obese people, their struggles, the weight loss surgery and skin removal. Yes, some of it is graphic and I really don't like seeing these people nekkid, but what they go through in their daily living routine is a real eye-opener.
I also like the Houston physician, Dr. Nowzaradan. He's such a non-nonsense guy, tells it like it is, and doesn't put up with any excuses.
I hope redbird is ok...and where are readerlady and librarylady?
Hi LisaNH! Nice to see you!
Like you and others, I can't remember when I last watched TLC. I remember when it was one of the better cable channels, when there was actual learning happening. These days, I find myself watching PBS and HBO along with Better Call Saul and the occasional network show. And I'm sure CNN looms big in the future with the coming final primaries and election.

Kate is emblematic of TLC's tried and true method of making a star and and using them until they dry up like a bone.
Kate has a solid ~1M viewership, +/-. TLC can bank on her to film at will. They call, she jumps.
Obviously, TLC will work through controversies if they like the talent. If they don't, the talent gets dumped like Honey Boo Boo.
GREAT to see you here!

I don't even know what channel TLC is on my lineup. They went down the tubes years ago.
TLC has personalities who are far more dimensional than Kate, whom I can say have something to offer. But, like most, they are firmly latched onto the nipple.
The one TLC show that I tune into if I happen to see it is on is'Who do you think you are?' The Canadian version was 'Ancestors in the attic' and I believe they both follow an original U.K. show. Basically it is one long informercial for ancestory.com but I find it interesting nontheless.
I really like the British shows and I got hooked years ago watching BBC America.

I can't keep my recs straight, but I highly recommend The Detectorists. It's quirky, funny, and shows such humanity normally missing from tv these days.
The new season of Scott & Bailey is available, too. Love those ladies!
I binged through an Irish soap called Red Rock. It's easy to get hooked. Good, not great. Lots of soapy drama that evolves around a Garda (police) station and an epic feud between two families in a fictional blue collar town.
The only problem is that you can't follow it in real time and have to wait (I don't know how long) for more episodes to be released.

LisaNH and FunkyFreshFlimsyFlamsy, I enjoy METV also. Love the old Perry Mason stories, I like to watch for very young actors who later became famous. And the mysteries are often more complex than I would have imagined 1960s tv episodes having.
I love the Midwife series, and was a great fan of Hyacinth Bou-quet!! British shows are really well-done and truly funny.

Yes, it's a good show and at least they are not trying to squeeze under their car to consummate an unnatural, disgusting act!
At one time I sometimes watched "Yes To The Dress," but those bratty entitled brides who just had to have the $30,000 dress because they were Daddy's Little Princess" and the family's budget was only two thousand, just made me sick. I wanted to knock some sense into them.
If he does have a manager, he is likely making far more than the 800-1500 the average DJ is making a pop, so it wouldn't be a concern he is losing money to a manager. There are the mom and pop DJ's, and then there are the big time DJ'S who you are paying as much for the personality themselves as for the skills. Those are the people who play the bigger clubs, etc. Clearly he's trying to get into that second group but not sure if he's there yet.

There were some tweets on Kate's TL some time ago, from folks who were backwoods, country people and I thought maybe they were pals of Milo, so I took a look at the tweets, and while their spelling and grammar is horrible, the folksiness is interesting. I check the timelines occasionally and usually have to look up some of the words because I've never heard some of the phrases. Dialects are so interesting.
However, here's one that isn't a dialect, just a misspelling that is amusing. If a guy has them, is it a "him," but on a female it would be a "heroid?"

"Seen Paulie Hodges over to boys ball game says BUBBA'S got hotchkins an Rosie joy had a misscarege send prayers"
I think that they just spell the way they pronounce, phonically, but when they speak does it sound "normal?" In other words, are words pronounced correctly, or does the language sound as strange as the spelling? For some weird reason, I find this fascinating.
I hope Redbird is okay and that crazy tormentor who pesters her isn't still bothering her.

I watched the Gloria Vanderbilt documentary yesterday. The long segment about Carter was so difficult to watch. How absolutely heartbreaking. I had no idea he committed suicide in front of her.
One thing that struck me was throughout her tumultuous childhood Anderson kept asking how did you feel, were you upset, etc., and she kept saying this was her normal, she had no idea it should be like something else. Children raised in rain forests don't understand there's something else out there.
It just shows how normalized dysfunction can become for children. So this idea that children are happy, are doing fine, like their circumstances, does not in any way prove that those circumstances are what's best for them.
She's quite the hoarder which is a bit odd, at the same time how fun to go through all that stuff half a century later like a time capsule.

I thought it was riveting, and beautifully done.

Over And Out (#55), I thought the same thing about the dog. Like when she says things about her
kids like "#LoveMyKids," I think, well, of course a mother loves her kids -- why does she need to keep pointing it out? Thou doth protest too much, methinks.
Jamesvader1194 (#57), right -- TFW is still trying to peddle the illusion that her kids are a herd. C'mon, the matchy-matchy days are way behind all of them. And from what I've read about how the twins behave, I can imagine they spend 90% of their time at home hidden behind screens -- not hanging with their younger siblings. Not that that's awful. I think it's rather typical for their age. But TFW wants us to believe that her six almost-12-year-olds and two 15 1/2-year-olds are alllll grooming this dog and singing to him
on a Sunday night? It just rings so false to me.
Even if I watched it on screen, I would never buy that it was spontaneous.

OMG! She is still on that Sound of Music wishful thinking?! How many times have those kids seen that movie, I wonder. Also once again using Twitter as a narrative of how much Shoka is loved because she knows some people (like us) believe she abused that dog as a puppy.
Kate is a master of using words and omission to deceive. See? Just by saying "children", you assume ALL eight were singing and grooming the dog. It's quintessential Kate.

It's just so odd that Kate keeps insisting the kids spontaneously break out into The Sound Of Music. She really wants that trip badly.
Tucker's Mom (#70), maybe the kids have a fantasy that their mom will move away and become a governess to another family? Or leave and become a nun? I kid!
See, I might buy that story if she said the kids were singing a Meghan Trainor song, or "Cake By The Ocean," which is a huge hit right now. Hey, maybe even a Prince song, since he's been all
over the media for a few days. It just seems a little too twee that her brood was singing show tunes from a 50-year-old movie.

Doesn't she have a small hill on her property where she can put her weave into pigtails, dress in a dirndl skirt and reenact the Sound of Music with all the Von Gosselin children around her?
I just don't see TLC putting up that kind of money to send the family to Austria even with ratings of 1 million.
I think most times Shoka is allowed in the house for Twitter photo ops. If he's ever inside, it's the basement. Remember, we've seen a picture with his dog bed on the front porch. I bet there is also one on the downstairs patio. The whole story line about Shoke sleeping with her was total BS. Where are the photos of her loving on that dog? When has she been caught on camera petting the dog? The only pictures of her cuddling with an aminal has been with the bird. That bird was a pet for herself. The dog was a plot line for her show.
She wants Steve to be The Captain to her Maria, LOL.
For all the thousands of hours of filming in that house, you never see Shoka living in the house with the family. Never.
Shoka is seen in the basement from time to time, but never upstairs.
As a dog owner, I really don't get it. Dogs are not farm animals.

He was soooooo young.
It was a brutal way to die.
&&&&
She did, and I think she's convinced herself it was his asthma medication.
I do think, if her story of what happened is completely accurate, that it sounds like he was in some kind of state of psychosis. Feeling very cold even though it was hot, waking up completely disoriented, saying things to her that don't make sense, no note or anything to show premeditation, and ending it very quickly without even letting her talk to him much. I don't think it was in the documentary but I read it somewhere else that he called her curse words just before he did it. That plus making her watch him die DOES seem odd and out of character for a son who adored his mother. It's not like they had some kind of long feud and this was his ultimate payback. There was no reason for that. There is a history of mental illness in the family, she said grandma wasn't really right and it doesn't sound like mom was that stable either.
Even Anderson all these years later says no matter how many times she tells me what happened I just can't wrap my mind around it.
In sum I do believe he was in an altered state brought on probably by mental health issues. I'm not sure what is worse for the family. Knowing he knew exactly what he was doing, or believing he was in some kind of fit and that but for that he would never do this.
TLC stinks (#74), yes, it's hard to believe a woman who referred to her own little boys as dirty and icky would actually allow a hairy, shedding animal on her bed. I can just imagine her complaining every day that Shoka "smells like dog."
Oh I'm curious, for people who commit suicide when other people are there, if it tends to delay things. My hunch is it does. I feel like I've heard many news stories where man jumps off a bridge after cops tried to talk him down for over an hour.
Here, Gloria makes it sound like it happened within a matter of about 60 seconds, and I tend to believe her that it was very quick. That sounds odd to me, and would support the theory he was in some kind of extreme psychosis.
My heart almost broke in two when I saw her still wondering after all these years if she should have tried to grab his arm and pull him back. Good God.
For all the thousands of hours of filming in that house, you never see Shoka living in the house with the family. Never.
&&&&
They frequently show establishing shots with Shoka out on the lawn. He's also always in the driveway barking at the damn wheels when the van pulls away, which proves that they are not putting their dog INSIDE or even crated like a responsible owner when they leave the house. A dog should not be left to wander that vast property unsupervised and it's proven to get him in trouble by the reports of him getting loose.
As someone whose dog is just another member of the family, allowed on beds, furniture, and almost always in the same room as me, it's extremely odd to me.
She has the 1930's mentality my grandpa who grew up on a farm still has that a dog was a DOG no different than a cow or pig. We understand so much more about the dog brain now, pack mentality, and what is best for their social development, which is the pack life. The pack for most people is going to be their humans. With this new information society has evolved such that dogs are more like family members now, not livestock, and most people accordingly have opened up their homes to them to be inside full time. I'm betting Kate got that mentality about dogs from her growing up years and because she's so dense can't look around and realize that things have changed now.
Oh one other thing about Anderson is he said there have been times where I really desperately wanted children but I also knew if i was going to be a father I wanted to be as involved and dedicated as my dad was. He worried his devotion to his career would not allow him to do so, and he's put off kids because of it.
And that's the difference between people like him and people like Kate. No matter how much they may WANT kids people like Anderson have enough self awareness to understand that they really aren't suited for it and to NOT do it. Whether that's because of a career, or in Kate's case, her narcissism problems. Rachel Ray says the same thing, look I'm just not cut out for parenting.
The reality is Kate never should have had kids before she worked out her mental health issues. But unlike Anderson, she was selfish and did it anyway.
Anderson's dad sounds awesome and down-home with a huge extended family down south he made sure to involve Gloria and the boys in and give them that normal foundation. Numerous photos of Anderson with various family members on the Cooper side. What another tragedy to lose him so young.

I can't imagine leaving my dogs outside when I'm gone. It's mind boggling that Kate's fans see how irresponsible she is with animals, and just choose to ignore it, or act like it's no big deal.
&&&&
No responsible dog owner could imagine it.
Not only could they get into a heap of trouble on the property too many to name, but someone could steal them. Not to mention all the dangers if they escape, from being hit by a car to being mistaken for a deer and shot. They were just going shopping, there's no reason not to put him in the basement or a crate with water and a little food and maybe a kong toy to occupy him with. He's safe, will probably take a nap and when he wakes up you'll be home.
I believe there is an electric fence for the dog, but those type of fences sometimes fail. I've always said the dog exists as a watch dog, thus always outside roaming the property. Funny thing is Shoka seems very laid back. Nala, on the other hand, did not put up with Kate's shit.
The barking at moving vehicles is crazy for a dog that has been supposedly trained. Any time you have a pet near a moving vehicle there is always the chance you could injure or kill it. My father-in-law ran over a family dog and same thing happened with a dear friend's dog in her driveway. I don't think Kate would care if anything happened to Shoka. It would be an excuse for MORE EPISODES!
Shoka looks well fed and taken care of, thanks to the kids' chores and the groomer. Kate is aware of perception but she forgot that real animal people can see through her BS.

Totally. I've never seen her love on that dog. She uses him as a prop.
Poor dog probably doesn't even know who's a good boy cuz no one ever has told him.
No responsible dog owner could imagine it.
-----------------
Amen to that. Although our yard is fenced, I still stand outside and watch her, even if she's just going outside to pee. Never in a million years would I let her outside unattended in the yard, let alone running free on the property. I am just a big old Mama Grizzly when it comes to the safety of pets and kids.
I did have an invisible fence installed at a very large property we owned with multiple acres. I still went outside with her, and luckily so. She broke through it and I was frantic. She came right back to me, though, but I vowed never again to let that happen. She had been a rescue puppy that was found wandering the streets a few towns over. We loved her beyond belief. She died in my arms when she was 15 years old.
I'm betting Kate got that mentality about dogs from her growing up years and because she's so dense can't look around and realize that things have changed now.
-------------
I think that is most likely true to a certain extent, but I also believe that she's just too lazy to care for that dog properly, and if she has things to do and the dog is outside, she just dismisses him and goes her merry way, figuring he will take care of himself.
I keep a close eye on my dogs when they're in the fenced back yard. I always check on them every few minutes.
My little dog didn't get access to the backyard until we got our lab. She watches over him because we've got critters in the woods in back.
We also have a deck and patio that they are even more protected, and they can stay out there for longer, and gaze out over the backyard.
I agree with all you dog lovers. They are really our babies, and the bond between us and our canine pals is a strong one. My grief still feels fresh for my previous dog who passed away last June. Our present dog has an ear infection ( I think) and I wasted no time making an appt at the vet's despite the fact we were there two weeks ago for a limp!
I noticed on Shoka's birthday Kate was all about making perfect dog cake for the episode, and was not that excited when it was time to give it to Shoka. Then they all went back inside and I think left him out there as usual.
Formerly, Kate acted like she was afraid of the dog. Telling.
I wonder how Jon did with DWTS Reading. Any locals hear?
I believe there is an electric fence for the dog, but those type of fences sometimes fail. I've always said the dog exists as a watch dog, thus always outside roaming the property. Funny thing is Shoka seems very laid back. Nala, on the other hand, did not put up with Kate's shit.
&&&
Yeah, I think there was some mention of the fence but I'm willing to bet there are some safety warnings about the pet that warn owners not to use it as a substitute to just leave the dog outside and assume they are safe. Even if it never fails it doesn't prevent all failurs like kidnapping.
And him running at the wheels couldn't be more unacceptable. No different than saying a child who runs into oncoming traffic is fine.
From Robert's book, I think the electric fence was supposed to be a story plot line, but it seemed to be just a mention. I'm pretty sure it was a freebie.
I think it is obvious who is an animal lover and who is not. I am not and would have a very hard time pretending I am. Kate is not either. For all the pictures and stories, she does not seem to want to be near Shoka. With 8 kids, there could be some animal lovers and some not. I wonder if they've really had the chance to find out. I will never believe Shoka lives in the house except maybe on the coldest of days.

Yes, and with good reason! She also seemed unfamiliar with Shoka's excited behavior, as if she can't read his cues, as all good pet owners should learn to do.

++++++++++++++++
Jon and Jeni did a pre-lim fundraising event at a bar and grill in Wyomissing last Saturday and the actual DWTS was held on Friday at Stokesay (one of my favorite places). I didn't hear how they made out in performance, but it was Yocum Institute's most successful DWTS fundraisers.
Formerly Duped (#97), and TFW isn't away at work
all day, so you'd think she'd especially know how
to "read" her beloved pet's cues. Unless, as I suspect, she keeps him out of her hair whenever
possible.
I think it is obvious who is an animal lover and who is not. I am not and would have a very hard time pretending I am. Kate is not either.
&&&&
Yep! And the thing is, that's where self awareness comes in and selflessness.
If you don't like dogs, don't get a dog. Not much of a cat fan here, hence, I don't have a cat. No offense to the cat lovers out here, I just don't like the litter box and I enjoy walking my dog which most cats don't want to do. And my dog HATES cats and would make a cat miserable. I don't mind playing with other people's cats and kittens are adorable but I don't want one full time.
It's same with kids. If you don't *really* like kids, DON'T HAVE THEM.
Kate had kids and dogs and really had no business doing so.
Jon seems happy!

I wasn't always a cat person. Did't really care for them, really didn't want one. Then a rescue came into my life and all of that changed. Now my cats outnumber my dogs!
One of my rescues just fell asleep on my night table. I heard a loud thump, looked over and she was in such a sound sleep that she fell off. She's fine, just scared the wits out of herself. One of the dogs went to check her out to make sure she's okay!
These guys and girls are a huge part of our family and I wouldn't want it any other way! Thankfully, though, no new cats showed up over the winter, so I won't be surprised with the unexpected birth of kittens in our guest room this spring.
Aww. I did grow up with a cat and adored him. His name was Thumbs. He loves my dad the most! Still don't want a cat though. ;)
What I always notice whenever she tweets a picture of Shoka in the house with his bed is how incredibly clean and new looking the bed always seems to be. It looks like a prop bed only dragged out for pictures. If you come to my house you're going to see beds that are clean but well used. You're also going to se a puppy growth chart where he chewed the molding around one of the bedroom doors and as he got older the chew marks got higher. Will we replace it? Eventually, but not yet because coincidentally it's the same door with the marks showing my son's growth. I can't imagine what TFW would do if Shoka did something like that.

I "knew" a cat named Thumbelina. Adorable little thing, but very feisty!
So if I am surprised with another mom and her kittens, I shouldn't count on you to adopt them? I just don't know how these strays find me. There are other cat lovers in the neighborhood!

Polydactyly is not uncommon in kitties. Looks like catchers mitts!
I had cats but developed allergies, then asthma, both of which were reactive to cats. So, no more kitties for me ;-(
Sheepless (#114), yes, why doesn't TFW at least respond to this person who is a potential viewer? How about at least tweeting something like,
"As soon as I know, you'll know, too. Can't
w8 for you to see the gr8 new shows!"
As a producer of the show, as well as the star, you'd think she'd want to put a modicum of effort into promoting the darn thing. But come to think of it, she may be royally ticked off that TLC scheduled her and pulled her, so she's pouting about it by not even acknowledging it (as in, cutting off her nose to spite her face). And
I'm still convinced fewer and fewer fans are
returning to her timeline after these prolonged absences.
Amy Roloff has been very active on her social media, posting updates, inspirational messages, cooking, fun stuff. Here, she's promoting the new season of their tv show:
https://www.instagram.com/p/BEozjl1TCgm/
"amyjroloffAnd here we go! #tlc #lpbw episodes begin April 26th 10pm with a look back at Zachary & Tori's beautiful wedding w/ more interviews, footage, and all of the other wonderful wedding scenes. #lovemykids #secondact #newbeginnings #lifeadventure Premiere of #lpbw starts May 10th. Take a watch & enjoy! ❤️"
Amy Roloff CF @amyroloffCF Apr 23
Oh my no filming for me today so it's a lazy Saturday kind of day. #secondact #reality #lovemyrealitycrew
Amy makes no bones about filming being WORK. Tiring work and always shouts out to their crew.
Amy seems extremely busy and has developed a cottage industry of public speaking engagements. She also still promotes her home cook branding.
I saw last night that TLC is bringing back My Big Fat Fabulous Life this summer (June, I believe). They are promoting the heck out of their new shows that are coming up. But K+8? Not a peep. Kate herself refuses to answer fans' questions about new episodes. That doesn't bode well. I would expect her to answer with her standard "Can't wait for you to C our fun!" tweet, but she says nothing. We know they filmed more shows. What's going on?
Yes, I think they just placed the 'new' bed beside an already-sleeping Shoka for a photo opp. Then TFW booted him outside! Unless the kids 'saved' him....
She just refuses to answer their tweets about this. Even if she doesn't know, at least give them the courtesy of telling them she doesn't know.
&&&
She can't help her inner petulant child, she wears it on her sleeve. Something about TLC and how they are handling this is driving her bananas, likely exactly what she admitted, that they won't tell her WTF is going on.
The difference between her and a mature and professional woman like Amy Roloff, is that if Amy Roloff ever felt any frustration or had a dispute with her boss (TLC), she would NEVER let on to the public. Because classy women don't do that.
The money has been spent, so I have every confidence she'll be back on air as soon as TLC finishes tweaking their schedule. For a control freak like Kate, her inability to schedule her shows must drive her nuts.
I hope her fans figure out she only converses with them when it's for her benefit. No reason to acknowledge them unless she wants to promote her image and fill her need for adoration. I suspect they've been filming like crazy since spring break and Kate has admitted as much.
Admin (#123), Amy is clearly thriving because
of her energy, enthusiasm and positive attitude, while TFW is languishing because of her whining and complaining demeanor. Who do you think TLC,
or anyone for that matter, would rather work with on a regular basis?
Interesting wording in Kate's tweet about the kids and Shoka. "When your kids surround you much-loved dog". Notice she doesn't say they actually did this. It could just be in her imagination, or maybe she was trying to come up with something to tweet that would sound heartwarming, and that's what she came up with. Kate-speak.
Jamesvader, you had a good point about Jon's tweets versus Kate's. Jon has a life. He goes places, does things, and has a lot to share. Kate sits at home eating for TLC to call, so she has nothing of interest to share. All she has is the kids, so they are what she tweets about. And staged photos of the dog.
I would disagree that Amy Roloff is classy. She is a slob in her home, it has been shown many times. She has been playing this "are we divorcing" scenario for years now for TLC. Matt and Amy are not that well liked in their community. They have had disputes with city officials over permits and quit to sue. This is another TLC family who put the filming before Jacobs needs. And super motivated Jeremy James Roloff who think he is super special has a blog about marriage. I don't think Jeremey ever punched a time clock.
Amy Roloff is not a classy woman.

She will. Something is up with Kate's complete indifference to her social media and requests to address her new season. I don't know what it is, but they simply can not be filming non-stop with 8 kids in school.
It probably comes down to Kate's history of quitting projects, be it her blog, or her coupon career or her social media.
She's just bored with it and has probably wrung everything out of it that she can.
NoNetz, bauble boxes Bella Bars and toilet paper are all just crumbs.

Did someone call Amy classy? I must have missed that. I've only caught snippets of the show, but I don't have to watch it regularly to know Amy is a well-established slob. I've also read that she and her husband are pretty nasty to each other.
(which brings me back to another reason I don't watch!)
Also, anyone who's read my thoughts on ALL these parents who put their family on reality tv knows that I thing they are doing their families a great disservice, despite the money they make.
What I've been noticing about Amy is that her work ethic appears much stronger than Kate's, and I never got the sense that she was a self-absorbed diva, or beat her kids, or abused a pet.
After as many years as Kate's been a reality tv fixture, I can't think of anything that Kate is doing (currently) outside of filming her children, while Amy has developed a separate brand and at least part-time career, in addition to owning the farm.
I think when the cameras go away, Amy won't be crying about piecing and patching.

TFW knows she is a "filler show," and is willing to keep the $$ coming in as long as they are willing to film her. Her glory days are over.
She is probably pissed off that her "dating show" didn't come to fruition. She was throwing it out there that the kids wanted her to date and there were rumors that she was shopping a dating show. Too bad that didn't pan out :-)

I think she handles her social media presence like a mature woman.
The other stuff, fair point. Still, the house looks a lot better now. Not nearly as cluttered as before. Some women just can't keep a clean house, and I don't understand why she gets blamed for it all when she has four children and a husband who should take equal blame. Isn't that a little sexist? Why not say, Matt doesn't keep a clean house? In any case I bet she has a housekeeper now.

admin, was his family from Key West? :)
Years ago Matt Roloff wanted to hire a cleaning person for Amy but she did not want any one touching her stuff. He had that great pantry built for her and within a week it looked like the rest of the house. The kids completely trashed everything, all the new furniture, etc., no sheets on their beds and clothes thrown around every where to the point you could not see them in their beds. I do give Amy credit though for doing charitable things, but like Grandie said, they are not well liked in their community. The twins are especially very arrogant.

I've read the mess in that house was epic. I'd break out in hives. But, from Kate's "OCD" to Amy's slobbishness, TLC just loves the attention they get from people's reactions.
As far as the twins, not surprising kids who grew up getting all that attention, all that stuff, all those trips etc. are not really down to earth.
You just hope they can cope in the real world.

I remember when the Vanity Fair article on Kate came out. I thought, "wow, she and Kelly Ripa sound like they're buds". Maybe back in 2009?, Kate would have stood a chance.

Early on in their respective shows, I saw Amy Roloff out playing soccer with her kids, teaching at a daycare, standing in the kitchen talking to her kids,
driving her kids hither, thither and yon, being an interested parent, cooking meals for her family (with some real help from Molly), talking about her hopes that her children would grow into mature, contributing, faithful and family centered adults,
among other things. I saw her interacting with them on a regular basis. I also saw a house in need of a good cleaning.
I saw Kate Gosselin sending her children out of her way so she could clean, sleep, talk on her pink iPhone, organize, and fix a meal, feed a meal, clean up a meal, and write notes and charts. I saw her talk AT her children instead of WITH them. I heard her hoping her kids would take care of her when she was old because she had certainly earned it by her pregnancy with the last 6. She did this in a tidy home with kitchen floor scrubbings (hands and knees) 3 times a day and a laundry system so precise even she couldn't figure out how it worked.
I know which parent I prefer to see in action.

Why do the Twitter non-fans and posters take her tweets and twist them -- because that's what they do! Kate is bad enough on her own, and Kate is Kate, but hey, why make her tweets into something they clearly are not? She's doing a fine job all by her little self!
I did see a post here that she tweeted a tequila (?) recipe to Tuma, and thought...why?
&&&&&&&&&&&&
Is she hot to trot for him? I mean, he's very nice looking! May she wants an invitation to spend some time on his deck. I don't think, though, that she's exactly his type!
Yes, TLC, please put K+8 on DVD, so C can walk into his therapist's office one day with the episode where Mommy told him, and the world,
that his sentimental birthday gift was bizarre.

LOL, even if it's just the Alaska Palin footage, that would pretty much sum things up!

She was a real beotch there, wasn't she? I don't understand how someone like that could watch herself behaving so badly and just dismiss it without even batting an eye. No self-awareness, that's for sure! How could you *not* care about how you are perceived by others?

LOL!! They say that every pot has a lid, but I don't think that MsGoody is even in his kitchen, let alone on his stove!
The other day I found a paw shaped magnet in Petco. It says: "who rescued who"?

Shouldn't that have been "who rescued whom?" ;)

It's cute, nevertheless!
I just got this on facebook from A Minor Consideration (Paul Petersen) Jon's not happy.
Up For a Fight?
Just talked with Jon Gosselin. He needs our help. TLC is doing it again...bringing back Honey Boo Boo, the Duggars, and the Gosselin Eight.

Not only was she completely ignoring her own kids, but she felt the need to crush the soul of an 8-year old super fan!! I swear she took pleasure in shitting on that little girl's parade.
If Kate ain't happy, ain't nobody happy.
But, you had to love Sarah P.'s dad who made no bones about his feelings when it came to his fateful encounter with Kate.

Whoa, wait. HBB?
Seriously?
We've pretty much known that another "season" of K+8 is in the can, or still being filmed, so I don't get what Paul is getting at.
Not that I disagree with him whatsoever.
It is a sickness.
@Ingrid I took a look at what you were saying and im glad all the comments seem to be in support for both Jon and Minor Consideration itself. From what i herd, when Jon gave the steve harvey interview he did gain support from it,so if true,im glad more and more people are seeing TLC for the nasty programming channel it is.I think since TLC is refusing to give up the duggars was the final nail in the coffin for most people when it comes to TLC.

When a father of minor children says repeatedly that he doesn't want his children kept on tv, further, that filming and exposing them has deleterious effects, you have to wonder how people COULDN'T be upset.
It popped up on my Facebook because I liked Minor Consideration. Here is a link.

She just will not stop. She can't be stopped, and I don't think that there is a darn thing anyone can do about it. It was said years ago to stick a fork in her because she's done. Many here said...wait, not so fast. We've said it over and over again, and somehow she rises from the ashes. I've never seen anything like it.

Thanks. I can't imagine what any of us can do to help.
I thought I read somewhere that Honey Boo Boo was going to be back on TV but not on TLC.
The twins are especially very arrogant.

I've read the mess in that house was epic. I'd break out in hives.
&&&&
That was maybe 10 years ago, the house was messy, and Amy resisted a housekeeper. I'm pretty sure she must have relented by now because the house is way better ever since they remodeled. The living room is almost always neat as a pin now. I don't think the family changed their habits, I think they got hired help.
Ingrid (#174), thanks for posting that link!

Will Paul come up with a plan? I certainly hope that someone will, but is it a lost cause if TLC has its mind made up? What can be done, other than not to watch and to e-mail advertisers, boycott their products and formulate petitions?

A real long shot and hope against hope, but maybe this has something to do with TLC pulling the K+8 "10-years and looking back" show? And Kate's unwillingness to respond to questions about airing, except for "duh, dunno"?
There is probably some unrelated explanation, and K+8 will probably run its next season (if they aren't still filming like crazy), I know.
However, I do wonder if as we've predicted, the time has come when the children are talking to Jon, and behaviors and problems can no longer be totally ignored and divorced from the stresses of filming.
For example, 2 kids getting kicked out of school. Why wouldn't you (as a judge or court appointee) not err on the side of extreme caution and see this as a symptom of a deeper problem?
Eh, Kate's probably still Teflon.
Wow! I would hope this is why the show was pulled except it was just posted. Unless Jon won a temporary stay or something. I hope he didn't lose in four and that's why he reached out to Paul Peterson. Now that he's more financially stable Jon needs to revisit getting shared legal custody
I think Mama June and that husband of hers were in some marriage boot camp reality show. I read that June and Honey Boo Boo have been dieting. When last interviewed, June said she's been working on getting a reality show. Frankly, why wouldn't TLC bring them back in some remake? It's happened with the Duggars and Kate. This is TLC's MO...go back to the same formula that worked before. Terrible.
This was reported after the cancellation:
Hey, remember a few months ago when Here Comes Honey Boo Boo was canceled over child molestation concerns? Well, as it turns out, we may not have seen the last from the Thompson and Shannon families. Now, Honey Boo Boo’s sister Anna “Chickadee” Shannon Cardwell has hired an agent and is shopping around a brand new reality series. Oh goody.
She lies so blatantly. Too bad she never remembers what's on film. I suppose no one noticed when the bird jumped in her icing last year.

Yup, Teflon.
What a coinkydink that Kate's tweeting up a storm hours after Paul Peterson's FB post.
Nothing gets the sheep to forget that she's ignored them for months than Shoka pics and intrigue about why the show was pulled or delayed temporarily.
I have no doubt Zorro was thrown onto the cake, and yes, Kate puts the bird on her shoulder and cooks.

Tease, tease, tease. You'll know eventually. There's no way most of the fans like this constant teasing and playing games. How to lose fans in 10 days.
I'm guessing they're delayed because they're going to be part of TLC's new campaign. I really doubt the average fan thinks a network-wide advertising gimmick is a good reason to have to wait this long. What a doofus.

Good morning! This is how I feel this morning .... #Shoka #PoshDogLife #GottaLoveHim
-------------
She's such a liar implying Shoka slept in the house last night. Look at the photo. It was taken a few days ago when she made the comment about Shoka kicking off his covers ( there was no blanket, btw). How about the pillow under the dog's head? Really?
I think TLC pulled the trigger too soon about Kate's show in April. TLC's press release mentioned her in their new campaign for whenever that starts, so it's no secret she'll be apart of their publicity. I believe with the Paul Peterson post we got tipped who else will be included. It makes sense. You know, June retained a lawyer to go after TLC to reinstate the show. Something was worked out. Shameful. And the sad thing is, gullible people will be curious and tune in. TLC knows their audience.
No kids living at home for several years. Matt got fed up and is living in his little pre fab house. It has been filmed many times and it is very neat. Matt tried to help Amy clean it and she would be hovering over anything he did..."don't touch my stuff, you can't throw that away", even hired a house keeper and a home organizer. She is somewhat of a hoarder and the kids rooms where horrendous. Matt and Amy are no different than Jon and Kate.

Sorry, not following. Who do you mean? Jon? In the story line?
You know how I see these two families? The Roloffs are parents with flaws, like lots of parents out there who ultimatly raise adults with flaws who are, most of the time, decent folks. Kate, in contrast, is a flawed parent. There's a difference
No difference in the reality tv world. Parent's still exploiting their kids, kids with jobs, kids working with no protection, one that has already publically denounced his childhood and money he earned, a kid who's painful surgery was shown, not once but twice, divorce ramblings that are still going on this season....this family is NO different than Jon and Kate. To say that they are I think is very hypocritical. Jon and Kate have flaws, their kids are flawed but the effects of filming are very evident with Jeremy and his pretentious wife. They are living off the show and taking every short cut in life to keep the money rolling in. I expect we will see Mady and some of the G kids do the same. In fact, I am looking forward to Mady's presence on youtube because I think it is coming.
Matt and Amy are no different than Jon and Kate.
******
Every TLC (or other network) parent who signs their minor children's lives away for reality tv filming is on some level, an opportunistic fame whore.
One some level, Dr. Jen is the same as Kate, as June, as Amy, as the Busbys.
Reality tv has a very high marital mortality rate, and will without a doubt, increase the chances that your family will face divorce, by orders of magnitude.
Anyone who puts their family at this level of risk, for fame and money, has failed at parenting in a big way.

I agree. She may have been a late add on to the campaign. I just have no idea why that doofus thinks her fans are happy to wait just to watch her take part in some marketing stunt. She's so stupid. They're already fans, they don't need advertising to convince them and many may not care for other tlc shows.

I think in that respect I agree with you, both are guilty of engaging their minor chilren in reality TV.
All other things equal though I don't think Matt and Amy, or Jon, are bad people.
I think nice people can make poor decisions. I'm not fond of the choices the little people have made for their children, now all consenting adults, but I think they're generaly good people and mean well. I find Kate to be a bad person with malice aforethought.

I wonder if that doofi that thought up that hairbrained publicity stunt that no one will care about or pay attention to are the same people that though up Cruz and Kaisaich's genius plan to "split" the votes. This is not Survivor!
