Coming up on Kate Plus 8, school shopping for clothes, backpacks, and Kate gets distracted by something shiny and starts buying things for herself. This is a literal repeat of at least a couple other back-to-school boring episodes, including Kate buying much more for herself than for the kids. No one in production is even trying to do something original, and why would they when phoning it in is enough? Kate doesn't believe in being fair because that wastes money. She should write a blog post on saving money by not being fair, Dave Ramsey would be proud.
It's always about Kate, Cara explains, who is old enough to be on to her mother but not old enough to realize when she should probably shush, which is my favorite age.
Kate is more orange than usual today in her couch interviews--I would say it's "Trump orange," which is a color I better patent soon before someone else steals it. But in the footage of her packing up the van her hue is back to normal, which is more eggshell white. Hannah gets stress headaches, Kate says as she discloses what should be confidential medical information. At 11 she's stressed? What on earth is she stressed about? Kate packs her into the van with a blanket.
Is that a booster seat? Wtf? I understand the carseat guidelines have shifted to include much older children now (in Pennsylvania, the law is booster seat up until age 7), but these kids are all way too old for that now. Most seat belts will fit children 4'9 and up comfortably and safely. None of these children are that short anymore. Give it up, Kate, they are not toddlers and haven't been for a long time.
It looks horrendous carting a sick child to the mall, I know, Kate says. Correct, it does. So why do it? A set teacher certainly wouldn't permit this or risk losing their license. Kate did the same to one of the boys not too long ago. They have a full time nanny, why can't Hannah stay behind with her? Kate explains this is just a Hannah thing and she'll get over it in a few hours.
There's Shoka again, a mere inches from the moving tires of a several-ton vehicle. Grr!!!
Dowdy Deanna just happened to be visiting and takes the twins off separately at the mall. Why couldn't Deanna stay home with Hannah, and make the twins suck it up and go with Kate and the rest of their siblings? Why do I hurt my brain wondering these things?
The boys say they don't like shopping other than for toys. By the looks of them they don't much enjoy endless couch interviews either as Aaden tosses his head back and lets out a huge yawn.
You know something that I didn't notice much in the past but is really starting to irritate me? How funny-cute Kate thinks she is. She tries to make these little self-depricating jokes and they're just annoying, not funny. "I get distracted by things I want to buy .... maybe I even acted like a person who had never been to a mall before. Did I remind you of someone like that? " She smiles like a goon.
Typically, no one cares what was done in year's past or why or how they need what they need, who likes what or doesn't, and all the whining and begging that ensues.
Joel says they don't want the same backpacks because that makes them look younger. Exactly!! Of course the kids don't want to dress alike or have the same things, contrary to the sheeple claiming maybe they like that. Of course they don't like that, no 11-year-old likes looking like a baby. The only nice thing about the fact that these kids a decade later are still working is that they are validating pretty much everything we predicted about how they likely feel.
I enjoy watching Kate try to reason with a pre-teen. It's one of the few tolerable things left of this God forsaken reality show.
The kids want her to buy them water bottles but Kate passes on that, initially anyway. She says bottles get dirty and disgusting and they leave water in them and she ends up being the one always cleaning them out. I can't disagree there, reusable water bottles are a great idea in your perfect green fantasy but rarely work out in reality. I have a Contiga cup which is an incredible invention, when I get around to cleaning out last month's English breakfast tea.
Half a minute later Kate's buying them water bottles. She is either the biggest pushover in the world or is just trying to be on her best behavior for the cameras. Much like how she parents in general, she only seems to understand the tangible aspect of raising kids, the stuff, the things. She doesn't understand good parenting is not that you bought kids water bottles because they really wanted them, but rather good parenting is making sure your sick child stays home with someone they trust instead of being dragged along on this trip, or better yet shop on another day. Hannah says shopping stresses her mom out. I wonder if that's why Hannah in turn gets stressed out.
Kate selects some tupperware and admits 90% of her shopping is done online. I was just going to say why don't they buy all this crap online like normal people? Does anyone even go to malls anymore? Malls are closing across the country at an alarming rate because people just don't go anymore. You can get better deals online usually anyway, and almost all stores now have a liberal return policy with free shipping no questions asked. You save stress, time, and gas and can try things on in the comfort of your own home. I'm guessing the other 10% of Kate's big box store shopping occurs solely because of the cameras.
During an excruciatingly boring conversation about gym clothes I can hear one of the kids politely saying "excuse me, Mommy," trying to get her attention. She is ignored of course. It makes sense now why these kids shout, scream and stomp around so much. Being quiet and polite gets you nowhere.
We're moving "owwn" to the next thing which is I guess clothes. This could easily have been the same footage from the premiere episode of this season, School's Out! where they went to the department store to buy luggage. It's that similar. Kate's helping Leah pick out some dresses and Alexis wants something too. Naturally Kate's comment about how shopping isn't always going to be fair was about Alexis, the least girlie of the girls. Figures. I'm not sure I even agree with Kate about how it can't be fair. It seems like this can easily be made fair. Give the kids each $50, $75 or whatever your budget is and have them pick out what they want with your approval. They're old enough to handle the money and pick out their clothes and that makes it perfectly fair. That noggin of hers sure thinks funny.
This is rather interesting, I assumed the twins didn't want to shop with the younger kids because they seem to hate sharing the same planet as them, but Mady reveals that actually she doesn't understand why she didn't shop with the other kids since she needs clothes too, and that she "wasn't allowed." Wasn't allowed by whom? Production? Conversely, Kate claims the twins didn't want to shop with the younger kids. I immediately assume Kate's lying and Mady's telling the truth. So was separating them out done to have two separate shopping segments and stretch this out? Hmm!!
Anywho, the twins are with Deanna and picking out stuff and it's all absolutely uneventful and boring. Kate buys their boring stuff and then does that sarcastic "thank you, Mommy," thing that some annoying parents say to their kids when their kids forget to say thank you. In defense of Mady, Kate started it, and Mady explains that she was going to say thank you, was in fact about to say it. I'm going to give Mady the benefit of the doubt on this. They had just bought the shoes, at least give the child until the car ride home to thank her.
This sets Mady off on a snide little tirade, accusing Kate of treating her like a brat. "Thank you, but you can say it to yourself," she snaps, whatever that means. She is I would guess about six months away from saying, "Thank you, but you should be thanking us because that's our money you're buying it with." Just ask the former child actor Missy Francis how old she was when she realized the same about her mother and started embezzling her own money to herself just to be sure she'd see any of it by the time she was 18.
Mady can be trying, she's mean to her siblings and I think the way Kate allows her to speak to her is completely unacceptable, but I also understand what Mady's saying here, and that is that Kate is unreasonable, disrespectful and patronizing to her, yet expects perfect respect back. It's a set-up, it's unfair and certainly very obnoxious.
All Kate can do is sigh and ignore her at this point, and I think she's wise to shut up and just let Mady say her peace. Kate won't take any of it to heart though, which is a pity. A little give and take with this dysfunctional relationship might do wonders.
It's a good thing we're not playing a drinking game this afternoon because I'd be soused to the gills. I just heard two typicallys and an "in general." Kate basically admits she's bribing the kids with pretzels. To buy shoes, or really just to stick around and film? I sense the latter. Mmm, I love mall pretzels. And mall cinnamon buns. That's all I miss about malls now that I don't go anymore like most people. Speaking of which, some of the finest television "short films" were made in a Cinnabon in Omaha. Watch Better Call Saul, the best show on television this year, and you'll understand.
I love the way Lancaster is pronounced in Pennsylvania: Lane-kes-ter. That is the correct way if I may say so. We have a Lancaster here, a medium-sized city in L.A. County but pronounced Lan-caster, and to go with its inferior pronunciation it's a desert with lots of snakes and varmints and not enough gas stations to run your tank down to almost empty and be fine.
How ironic, Kate has wonderful fond memories of her grandparents taking her to the mall. Grandpa gave them each $5 to spend. Sounds like even ole Gramps understands how to make shopping "fair."
The store didn't have a good selection of shoes, didn't have their sizes or the styles they want, and it doesn't look like they ended up buying anything. Remember those days? Now we have the inter-webs, where I promise you can find your size and style somewhere in that vast wonderland even if you might have to resort to ebay. Kate says for the second time how much she hates all this. Well, she makes it harder on herself. All this could be accomplished with a few clicks and a credit card that's already automatically entered by the little green men at Google.
The little people are swimming again, which I realize now was a good excuse for production to try out their underwater camera rigs. They don't come cheap.
We're back with a completely unrelated subplot storyline to plot A, about how they're going to refurbish their picnic table. Kate and the younger kids head to the hardware store. The twins complain that they were not told they were going to the hardware store, they just woke up and they were gone. Sheesh, I hope schmoopy at least left them a note! Assuming it's true, that the twins weren't informed of this outing, this is what I mean by Kate not respecting them. You can't be as rude and inconsiderate as she apparently is to them, then expect respect back. It's a two-way street.
Kate admits she doesn't "typically" take them to do errands like this, but the cameras are here so .... well, she really claims she took them them because this is going to be a whole-family project, but the truth is the kids are just in her way and she's not making any effort to include them in this shopping trip, and this is really about the cameras.
Mady and Cara couldn't be more unenthused about helping to sand the table. They're insufferable but understandable.
Kate pulls out a power sander and makes a whole big deal about operating this machinery. This happened before too, just a couple episodes ago when she worked with a chain saw. I hate women who think its funny and cute when they tackle traditionally male jobs and act all damsel in distress about it. At one time this show recycled plot ideas from a season or two ago, now it's just an episode or two ago. It's like a blond bimbo high-pitched awful version of Groundhog Day, a movie I hate in the first place. Ha, Kate's awful at sanding, it runs every which way taking the scenic route down the table. Either that or she's really playing up the woman fumbling around with power tools gag. Amy Schumer she is not.
Of course most of the kids start to gradually wander away, bored, now that Kate is power sanding and not including them or even letting them try it. What does she expect?
Just an observation now that yet another too long and boring segment is over, but why didn't they pull out the power sander sooner? Why did they all sit there with sandpaper blocks and slave away for who knows how long when Kate had a power sander right there all along that could have done the entire job in 10 minutes?
This is a rhetorical questions I suppose, and the answer to most of my rhetorical questions is usually, because it was being filmed. It makes no sense to do things quickly and efficiently when you're being filmed, then you'd never be able to find enough footage to fill up 60 minutes of this drivel every week. You can only roll your eyes I guess. The kids are half onto all this and will be all the way there soon.

Commercials, and when we get back they're still sanding that god damned picnic table! I feel like I'm in sandpaper purgatory and can't get out. A somewhat new thing they are doing during the kids' couch interviews is have them say the same thing at the same time. It's Children of the Corn creepy.
Amy Schumer here is working with an air compressor now, acting all inept again. Blow me.
Kate's glad the full-time nanny Andrea happened to be there since for some reason Andrea knows about how to stain picnic tables. Why wouldn't Andrea be there? She is their full-time nanny. The kids trickle back in now, interested in painting. Instead of whining about it, maybe Kate should just appreciate what they are willing to help with, little as it is. Finally after two long segments the table is finished, it looks great and the kids are mildly proud of their efforts. It really is amazing what a little sanding and staining can do. That's what she said.
Commercials, this time the promo is about people who are 600 pounds and a network that still pretends watching people pull their rolls of fat out from their pants and roll it around has educational value.
We're back with the third subplot in this episode that's actually related to the school shopping this time, final preparations for their first day of school. Mady makes an interesting comment that it's not cool to be entering high school, though she likes they don't have to wear uniforms anymore. I have never in all my life met a kid who wasn't thrilled to finally be going to high school with the big kids, even if there were a little first day nerves about it. It's just a strange comment. The twins are going shopping for clothes again? The first trip wasn't enough?
They're at one of those small boutique clothing shops that most women can't afford to shop at until at least a decade after college is over and several salaried paychecks later. In typical Mady and Cara fashion the twins are ungrateful, disagreeable and unhelpful to the very nice salesperson helping them who apparently cleared the store out for them. Kate defends their rude and unacceptable behavior by saying she was just like that as a teen. Well, then they get it from her.
Kate can't help herself and goes after all the shiny stuff, grabbing up dresses and blouses and handbags like it's a pop-up swag tent. The twins knew that would happen, heh.
Kate's still defending Mady who is making snide comments by saying it was actually a round-about way for Mady to say Kate looked nice. Lol! Kate, "oh my gosh you look like a human" is not a nice comment no matter how you twist and turn yourself around to make it one. She is the worst, no wonder these twins are the way they are. The music during this segment was pulled from stock 17th century harpsichords, which is random.

Up next, they're going to another boutique??? I really am in shock how much is being repeated and recycled in this episode, and the sheer greed I'm witnessing.
At last the final segment. What's the point in clearing out an expensive boutique for ungrateful teenagers if they don't like anything? Cara is actually arguing with Kate that she has enough summer clothes, she doesn't want anymore, and Mady doesn't seem to want anything at this place. Why in the world is Kate pushing them into buying summer clothes on a back-to-school trip in the Northeast when 95% of your school year will be spent in winter clothes?
Kate complains they're in a phase where they have very narrow likes and don't want to branch out. So? That's normal. At that age I think I had one or two sweaters and a pair of jeans I wore to death, as long as they are washed regularly it's not hurting anything. What does Kate care? Just get them what they like, online, and be done with it. She really picks a lot of fights she doesn't need to.
Mady gives Kate one too many "it's all about you" comments and Kate finally loses her shit, haha. Love it.
A third store???? This is truly agonizing. Just take my word for it absolutely nothing interesting happened here. Kate suggests she and Mady get these completely ugly sweater pants and share them, "share custody of them" she says. Oh yeah cause Kate's so great at sharing custody of anything. Mady, you'll never see those sweater pants again except maybe for a Tuesday night dinner once in awhile but that's it.
It's finally over, and next time we pick out more clothes but at least it's for Kate's fake-date, and her rather cute (!) suitor, nice selection from all those head shots, production! Baw-hahhaa, the side hug and turned cheek at the end of the date. Shade! Cannot wait.
Little people playing with bubbles, and we're out.

I'm talking about her making her loyal fans "wait" for something and teasing her already solid group of loyal followers who would probably rather just see her show and not wait around for whatever she is putting off. That's a completely separate issue then the fact that she should be promoting her show to everyone, fans and casual viewers alike.
I agree. She may have been a late add on to the campaign. I just have no idea why that doofus thinks her fans are happy to wait just to watch her take part in some marketing stunt. She's so stupid. They're already fans, they don't need advertising to convince them and many may not care for other tlc shows.

Maybe TLC feels K+8 really needs the momentum from the campaign.
Can't wait to see how they spin Kate. No, don't tell me. Poor Kite- always criticized, doing it all alone, blah blah blah.
"I'm a bad mother".
Yes, on so many levels, you could have made better choices (and I don't mean Jon!).
I find Kate to be a bad person with malice aforethought.

That sums it up, and I mean going all the way back to scheming about having multiple multiples.
Yes, I do think she had intent.

I could not agree more. Kate treats her kids as commodities, not people, and just wants to make money off of them. In the recap, I saw that Hannah had a stress headache, and Kate says she knows it's terrible to take a sick child to the mall, but it's just a Hannah thing and she'll be fine in a few hours. WTH??? It's "just a Hannah thing"??? She acknowledges that her child is suffering, then brushes it off like it's no big thing. Hanna's pain means nothing to her. Filming is what matters. Same thing when she took the sick child shopping for luggage. A sick child belongs at home, not at the mall. A child who is having a stress headache should not be dragged out to perform for cameras. It's the child's well-being that is important, not filming some stupid reality show. Would it really hurt the show if Hannah or the sick boy stayed home? No, of course not. But Kate has reached a point where her children's well-being means nothing to her. It's the cameras that count.
That's a completely separate issue then the fact that she should be promoting her show to everyone, fans and casual viewers alike.
******
Regular promoting should be just a matter of doing business. But, what we've seen is Kate totally ignore her fans, except for a few disparate tweets about her dog's sleeping habits and her kids' wanting dolls.
But, I do agree there's a core group of fans who are TLC viewers and will tune in to see her shows, totally independent from her social media activity.
BTW, Jamie's tweet pic of Kisa is adorable, and believable. You can tell the pic is taken on the bed, with the dog at her level, with dog very relaxed about her person and camera being in her face.
THAT'S how you take effective pet pics!

@Kateplusmy8 just can't stand all the negative comments,do you people realise, how hard it is to raise 8 kids and to do it on your own

Do you know how hard it is to work to support your mother and yourselves as kids? Do YOU know how hard it is to have your home become a filming studio, and have cameras document your PRIVATE moments? Do you know how hard it is to have your family crumble in front of 10 million viewers, and then, have your mother puff up with pride that said episode was so successful?
Gawd, I could go on and on.
Kate is NOT raising those kids all alone. She has more money than most people could have in many lifetimes.
Cut me a break.

Inferred from Paul Peterson's FB post.
@Tucker's Mom i know that, but the thing is,he said jon said that, but how would Jon know that TLC is bringing back Honey Boo Boo?
When TFW goes back to her "good morning"
palsie-walsie tweets to the fans, there's a
gaslight element to me. She acts as if she's
been tweeting all along, and it's just another day. But she had disappeared for a long period
of time, and ignored birthday greetings, and questions about the new air dates, and every other comment her fans and long-time followers tweeted to her. But now all is well, and they're buds again, and, oh, by the way, her new episodes are coming!!!! Wait'll you see!!!! She is a user, through and through.
Admin, I apologize in advance for the gaslight reference. I know it tends to get us off on a tangent!
I think TLC should start a reality show with TFW, Mama June, and Ma Duggar. NO KIDS!!
TFW would sh*t her pants.
Tucker's Mom, I meant TLC may be bringing back all or part of the Honey Boo Boo klan. Apparently June has lost 45 lbs so I can see this turning into "look how I've changed" campaign.
ALL those creatures who film reality shows with minor children are fame whores, IMO. Plenty of money to be made and they get anything they want as long as they pull in the advertiser dollars. Kate, though, could get in a bind with TLC because she has eight children to control and they ALL must be available to film. She cannot go it alone, as proven by her attempts, so it's all or nothing. I'd say about now with those age groups there could be considerable pushback from a few. Easy when they were toddlers. Hope they realize they have the power.
No kids... just the insane 3.
Layla (#4), and your comment made me think, if
TFW was so dismissive of H's needs, how much worse does she treat her sons when they don't feel their best? By now they may have just learned to "man up" (as TFW so kindly suggested when little A's feet hurt from walking in new cowboy boots) and not say boo when they aren't feeling well. If your own mother won't give you compassion or attention when you're not feeling well -- and might actually get angry and frustrated with
you -- you may just keep your mouth shut.
I just saw that Honey Boo Boo and her mother are going to be on an episode of Oprah's Where Are They Now. I didn't catch the date.

It could be a "weight loss/now I'm a lesbian!" show. That's right up TLC's alley.
Good question: how does Jon know about Honey Boo Boo? Perhaps he still has connections with a friendly someone at TLC because that info would have never come from Kate since they supposedly do not communicate?
Yep. Goody has officially assumed the role of spokesperson. Just the person I'd want in my corner doing my PR work! LOL!

We don't know that Jon knows it's coming back. Paul doesn't say that Jon told him that HBB is coming back. That's not what Paul said:
A Minor Consideration
23 hrs ·
Up For a Fight?
Just talked with Jon Gosselin. He needs our help. TLC is doing it again...bringing back Honey Boo Boo, the Duggars, and the Gosselin Eight.
Let's make a plan to combat this sickness. Paul Petersen
Yes, Paul Peterson could have misspoke or assumed about HBB. I never thought the Duggars would be back after cancellation, yet here they are. Kate was cancelled, yet here she is.Nothing would surprise me especially if June's attorney worked out some compromise with TLC if she felt she was targeted while the Duggars got a spinoff. It's all about controversy and that draws eyeballs which means advertising revenue for TLC. Makes sense to me.
Regular promoting should be just a matter of doing business. But, what we've seen is Kate totally ignore her fans, except for a few disparate tweets about her dog's sleeping habits and her kids' wanting dolls.
&&&
Right. She doesn't promote anything for ages then when she pops in she tells them to WAIT AND SEE? It must be hell to be a fan.
She should do regular promotion so her fans and casual viewers know what's going on and feel in the loop, but that's hardly what this was--it was a wait and see tease. Not the same thing.
@TLC stinks the thing is,IF they are bringing back HBB,its only going to make things worse for TLC because not only are they letting the Duggars get away with child sexual abuse but Mama june straight up called her daughter a liar and was defending her pedophile boyfriend who raped her daughter. Not sure where TLC is getting advertisement for the duggars still back still nothing about cancelling.I get the feeling people are going to want to boycott HBB show(if they're bringing her back)as well because of that.As for Kate, even though she's still hated by the majority, not many are boycotting her show because of Jon and the whole child support thing.Kate has people convince Jon does nothing with his kids because hes not on the show anymore. If none of those things happen,my guess is more people would of wanted to boycott her show.
Jamezvader, so far boycotting hasn't worked. A return of HBB in some spinoff would get high ratings. I wish it wouldn't. TLC thrives on the negative publicity. Sure, a few advertisers bail, but there are others who take their place. I am not optimistic that TLC will change its stripes any time soon.
As far as Kate, she's in TLC's pocket for the long haul. As long as Jon cannot wrestle custody from her for even one child, those kids are going to be filmed.
But she had disappeared for a long period
of time, and ignored birthday greetings, and questions about the new air dates, and every other comment her fans and long-time followers tweeted to her. Exactly. If this were a real life relationship it has every element of an emotionally abusive, manipulative, passive aggressive relationship.
She reminds me of the type of friend/boyfriend/girlfriend/child/parent who doesn't call or keep in touch then when something big happens to them all of a sudden they pop up expected full support and a total stop of your life to help them. Naturally, there is no mention of where the F they've been the past several months/years/decades. If you call them out on it they get defensive or ignore it. Real relationships like that are not healthy and most therapists would encourage folks to leave them or at least set boundaries.
The problem is she has really encouraged an emotional relationship with her fans resembling a real friendship. She was about to get on a ship with all of them. Had she set clearer more professional boundaries she wouldn't owe them the basic emotional courtesy that real friends should.
Has Kate even tweeted Milo to find out what is going on? She either knows or does not care.
Admin (#39), you said "if this were a real life
relationship." I know what you meant -- a face
to face friendship where people spend time together. But make no mistake, to quite a few of TFW's fans, and most notably Gladys, it is indeed
a real life relationship, with an investment of
time, attention, care, concern, and in some cases, even love. But these people have set the bar so low that once TFW pops back on, they're happy to resume the relationship.
@TLC Stinks i checked her twitter and Milo has returned....(sort of).She only favorite one tweet which was an anti Ted Cruz tweet.i find it odd,how she pretends to be gone and not tweet anything to Kate, especially since Kate announce new episodes were coming.
Many of the fans seem like decent, nice people, with families. What is it that they don't get? What part of their brain isn't functioning? Why can't they understand that kids weren't brought into this world to serve for their viewing and entertaining pleasure? These fans keep begging for more, feeding Kate's ego, lusting with excitement over the prospect of more episodes. WHY?
I'm tired of banging my head...
Kate has kind of proved that she doesn't need to advertise. She never has of her own volition and she still has all the money, power, fans, tv show. All of it. If I were here and was looking back at what has worked for me I wouldn't change either.

I'm not so sure about that, the show is currently seeing some of the lowest ratings it's ever had, and up until recently TLC hasn't promoted it. I have to think its bottom feeder status has something to do with the steady decline in ratings. The Duggars were heavily promoted and have faired much better.
In any case even if it weren't about "needing" to advertise, most people in the public eye promote themselves and their shows and projects at the very least to facilitate camaraderie with their fan base and maintain a perception of enthusiasm and engagement with their public persona and career. To not do so makes her look lazy and at times petty, as well as rather out of the loop as to how most normal celebs behave.

Nope. It hasn't worked and it won't work. You're right. Advertisers will replace advertisers and people will still tune in to see the entire clan behaving badly. As long as TLC can get a dime out of it (and the Duggars, and Kate) they will continue to film. Those who believe that boycotting TLC, putting out petitions, etc., unfortunately are just doing wishful dreaming.

They communicate in so many other ways, so it's impossible to know. Perhaps they text on a regular basis, or burn up their cell phones with their hugs and kisses to each other.
Speaking of Milo and Cruz, I wonder if Kate voted yesterday. Does she even know that it's an election year? If so, I'm betting she doesn't understand the difference between a primary and a general election!

I actually think it did work when the Duggers, for a time. Advertisers pulled out like crazy and TLC pulled the show for several months. Make no mistake they lost a lot of time and revenue trying to fix that huge PR crisis.
But a couple things were unusual about that. It was a huge story, nationwide. Top story on all the news. And, fans turned on TLC and big time, drawing the line. With both the fans and the media all over this TLC really had no choice but to fold. That kind of perfect storm scenario doesn't happen that often and likely won't for Kate's show unless something huge happens.
Also, we are in an instant information age and people forget huge news stories quickly. I doubt the average American now remembers much about the Josh Duggar scandal or feels much outrage anymore. It was here, it was big, and then it in short order blew on by like every other big news story. For better or worse the public has short attention spans. It doesn't mean they are OKAY with the Duggar thing. It just means they forgot about it or moved on. It's like anything. I think if someone started airing Jello Pudding commercials with Cosby in them again, you wouldn't get more than a handful of letters protesting. People move on fast.
Admin (#35), in addition to making TFW seem lazy and petty, it makes her seem not savvy. She's invested a fortune in trying to seem hip through her physical appearance. But she is neglecting
a huge component of media success in 2016: her social media presence. And after a decade on TV,
she still doesn't seem to have a decent rep or advisor who will get her on track in that area.
Well Barb has not tweeted Kate either time she popped up recently . She was tweeting last night with her Kate fan buds but not including Kate. She did tweet a song that says this though and said "ppl who deliberately ignore you;

A strong social media presence and savvy is incredibly important to one's career in the public eye. Most people by the time they've gotten as far as Kate has have hired someone. She's both too cheap to do so and too stupid to get TLC to foot the bill.
It's highly likely she has lost out on numerous opportunities simply because the company was not impressed with her promotional skills.
Her social media awareness is a grade D at best.

I think it all goes back to her appearance at The Grove when Stevie had to shove her back on the pedestal to take pictures and interact with her fans--"that wasn't part of it." In her mind, she doesn't have to do any of the work promoting herself because she already spent 2 years on bedrest while pregnant with the tups. She's already arrived and is a star! Barbara said so.

The cure for that is to stop talking about her. Eventually she'll not enter your thoughts anymore.
It's highly likely she has lost out on numerous opportunities simply because the company was not impressed with her promotional skills.
She had plenty of chances obtained for her by Julie Carson May: The View, the Natalie Morales interview, the Entertainment Tonight mic, People Magazine covers galore and "awn and awn and awn."
She missed out on opportunities because she was a demanding, entitled b*tch===I want Nobu, Kobe beef at the Essex, I need a new Ann Taylor credit card. She admitted as much when she was canned and on her groveling tour to get back in TLC's good graces.
There are plenty of famous people who hate promoting themselves. They hate watching themselves, reading what they've written, etc. They rely on their agents to promote them and/or their work.
I think Kate is convinced that her name is synonymous with Sofia Vergara and Tina Fey by now.
Why should she have to audition, promote or do anything more than show up for top rated productions?
Isn't her name enough to speak for her credentials?
She's a reality tv star, by golly, the world is her oyster. Just show her where to go and Steve will take her. She'll be brilliant.
Who needs to promote such a fetching, fascinating firecracker of a female star?

Yep, she missed opportunities that way. She also lost opportunities because she has failed to demonstrate she is a good promoter or can hire a good promoter. There are many ways to lose opportunities in this business and Kate has hit on most of them.
I'd like to state my views. Maybe it won't get posted but I'll give it a try.
I don't like Kate, didn't from the first time I saw her although I can't explain exactly why. To me she appears shallow and extremely self-serving/self-centered to the detriment of her children who have worked most of their lives to for her wants.
Besides the physical abuse to her toddlers, the other thing that deserved examination and criticism was her horrid, thoughtless reaction to Collin's gift to her. It's something I probably won't forget.
However I don't think every.single.thing she does is wrong to the point of deserving hundreds of words and hours of criticism. I also think that such over-the-top analysis of her every move takes away from credibility when something does happen that deserves conversation.
That's it. Had to express myself.

Fair enough, but please keep in mind that it's the small things that add up to the full picture. The woman who is Kate Gosselin shows herself in both large and small ways just who she is on a daily basis, not just when there is some major event. Truth of character often shines through in the minutiae.
Besides, she offers all of it - the good, the bad and the ugly - on a golden platter to anyone with internet
and cable access. When SHE decides her every move doesn't need to be fine tooth combed, SHE can turn it off.
In March this was reported by TMZ:
We're told June is set to go in for gastric sleeve surgery later this month, and hopes to lose at least 80 more pounds. She's been on a crusade to slim down so she'd be healthy enough for the surgery. She's already dropped 90 lbs.
We're told "sleeve specialist" Dr. Michael Feiz in Beverly Hills will perform the operation.

Sounds like a reveal is in the works. Why Hollywood for the operation?
This news comes just days after it was reported that Ms. June had a cosmetic procedure to have her "turkey neck" removed.

Very good points, and thanks for posting.
I'd just like to point out that the seemingly little things are emblematic of Kate's continued quest for attention, and exposing her children.
Just as an example, if my mother has broadcast, far and wide, that at 12, I was still playing with dolls, I'd crawl into a hole.
Also, she'd never grift, so there's that!
I don't know what will reach the level of credibility (as far as conversations here) that will affect Kate's continued abuse. If Jodi and Kevin speaking about about their first hand experience and knowledge doesn't stop her, and Jon's first hand reports of kids not wanting to film doesn't stop her, and her own damning diary (which she copyrighted) doesn't stop her, I don't think we need to worry about losing credibility because we chat about the small stuff.
What keeps things credible here isn't so much how impactful each and every post is, but the general respectful level that our banter is at, the vast majority of the time.
Having said that, I hope you don't feel that I'm trying to negate your feelings or contribution. I think your respectful post makes great points and observations about us.
Hope you keep posting.

Thanks for posting, Doctor's in the house. I agree with you up to a point that there is plenty of nitpicking and I am guilty of that. Having followed the Gosselin saga since the initial special, Kate's Twitter and blog posts reveal her true nature of self importance and most importantly, the lies, which are worth dissecting. Why TLC protects her is something I want to understand.

I just can't bring myself to pity June. When you consort with a pedophile, let alone a pedophile that molested your own daughter, you are beyond scum.
That said, June strikes me as a person who is desperate to keep her fame and remain in the spotlight, to the point that she'd jeopardize her health (more than her lifestyle has already done), and put herself and anyone associate her at risk.
June in no way strikes me as someone who is losing weight for the right reasons, and who is willing to make real, meaningful lifestyle changes.
I just smell a tragic ending here.

It's the kids. 8 kids. Tons of fodder and a mother who will jump at any chance to film them.
To the next point, amen! One's social media should be carefully curated, and Kate has failed at that. The filth, fighting and disparaging of both Jon and Kate that goes on, on Kate's timeline, would make any responsible mother shut it the frick down.
The negatives, by FAR, outweigh any pick up in popularity, ratings or freebies.
Again, comparing to Amy Roloff, not because I think she's Mother of the Year, but because it's a fair comparison in terms of reality tv moms, Amy consistently uses her social media to inform, inspire and communicate with her fan base.
I think Amy's prospects of having a high(er) profile life and career, post reality tv, are far, far better than Kate's.
Amy is actually working her brand and using her show to launch other more sustainable career prospects that are hers and hers alone.
However I don't think every.single.thing she does is wrong to the point of deserving hundreds of words and hours of criticism. I also think that such over-the-top analysis of her every move takes away from credibility when something does happen that deserves conversation.

I actually agree with you. I think the problem comes when you take all the comments here as a collective whole and assume everyone as a whole feels the same.
There's a lot about Kate that rolls right off me. For instance, I'm not much bothered by Kate's hair and clothing, and don't usually comment unless just making a joke in a recap. Other people find her hair and clothing hideous and make numerous comments on it. Conversely, I can't stand the amateur way she handles her social media presence, I think that's a huge flaw, but I doubt that bothers everyone.
It's a flat out lie to say I, myself, pick at every.little.thing at her, and neither do most people here. But if you're going to attribute me to a wide variety of comments here about her as if we are one body and one person, then I can see why you would say that.
It would be like any "hate" board, like say for an I Hate Walking Dead forum. (I don't hate that show, I like it, but it's just an example). Someone might come there because they are annoyed with the fake looking zombies, another might arrive because they feel like the plot lines are way too repetitive, still another might arrive because Glen is a terrible actor who has no business being on TV. Of course no one person is tearing their hair out of every single thing about that show. They are just gathering in one place because they have a mutual dislike for it, for each of their own reasons. Such too is here. So I urge you to keep that in mind when you make a statement like that.
Admin (#61), may I add that people also gather here for other reasons. You have fostered a diverse community of posters here who might never otherwise have crossed paths. From recipes to pets to gardens to a million household uses for vinegar, I think there is much to enjoy here, and
a lot to learn from all the posters who comment.
A recap of the latest Duggar episode....sounds like admin could have written it. Hysterical.
http://wonkette.com/601118/jill-and-jessa-duggar-aired-the-birth-of-squashy-spurgeon-and-we-wish-we-had-no-eyes
They're talking about how a lot of the episode was for reminiscing, which is "super-weird, even for Duggars, because these are things that happened ridiculously recently....producers have basically given up entirely already".
Hmmm. Sound familiar? Hasn't TFW had about 8 (<----note the number) reminiscing episodes this season already?
@Doctor's in the house I also do agree with what you said.Honestly one thing about Kate that i never really criticize about her is whatever food picture she posts on twitter.Reason for me is because her cooking to me is irrelevant to how she treats her kids.I get why some here do criticize her cooking and its because Kate tries to act like she's this great cook and even going so far as to write her own cookbook which flopped. But to me,even if she was this great chef that was similar to Betty Crocker that wouldn't change anything as to how she is as a person.I also don't criticize her clothing or hairstyle.
Was Bill Blankinship (the editor who was arrested for child porn) involved with all three of these shows? Just curious.

Agree. It's easy to think of it as one person being overly critical when that's not really the case.
However, I think there a few over-arching themes that we all agree on....
1) TFW is wrong for exploiting her children in order to maintain a big buck lifestyle for herself.
2) TFW is a lying hypocrite.
As in stop acting like your the world's bestest mom ever when you're clearly not.
3) TLC is wrong for exploiting children and mentally ill people.

I agree. I think what ticks me off about her Twitter is the extent to the picking that goes on there, and by mostly the same people who live there, day after day, week after week, month after month, and year after year. Moreover, some of the stuff they come up with I know to be not credible, and in my opinion, this is just so far over the top that it's wrong and makes them look not credible.
There was something tweeted recently, and when I read it, I thought.. wait a minute, how did you come up with this, and why tweet it if it isn't true? However, it still continues.
Not only are the comments there to and about Kate, but the bullying and really vile, nasty tweets to the non-fans are horrible. I know that goes on with both sides and I don't know what the sheeple do on their private time lines, but it seems like the old die-hard fighting fans have pretty much disappeared from on Kate's Twitter, with only a few pop-ups every now and then. That leaves the non-fans to do the jabbing at both Kate and the sheeple. Some of them have some rather nasty mouths! I'd hate to be on their bad side out in the real world! Ouch!
As for Kate's cooking and food, yes, this has to do with the kids. Look who is on the cover! Although the sales were dismal as best, I think they would have been even worse if it had been just Kate in all her glory in that book. Once again, her kids were used for a specific purpose. Kate's cooking + food + kids = exploitation.
keri @hippie0701 Apr 8
@Kateplusmy8 I was a fan of your but now I'm not because all you do is lie and exploit your kids for money! But now that Kate announced new episodes she for some reason she changed her mind. keri @hippie0701 23m23 minutes ago
@Kateplusmy8 I'm sorry for what I said about you. You're a great mom!
I will never forget, after all her emphasis on serving her kids healthy, organic food, packing prepackaged junk food for their motor home trip. LOL. I agree about the food control in regards to portions of what she has photographed and posted. Even to how much they would drink. Each glass was filled only to a certain level. Weird. I suspect those days are over because some of the kids have put on a little more weight than what they need, but that is typical of teens and pre-teens. It must be driving her crazy that they aren't petite children anymore.
I cannot wait for full-blown puberty to erupt with all of them. Maybe I'll sympathize (or not).

I'm going to lay odds that Bindi's event will be very successful.
As far as Sea World goes, they have mounted a highly-visible campaign in response to BlackFish, and will not breed or add to their great Killer Whales henceforth.
Moreover, Bindi, as you wrote, was a DWTS darling and a real success story. It goes to show how big of an opportunity it can be to land a spot on DWTS. Bindi worked the relationships she made in L.A. and wow, this is big.
Good on her!

rainbowsandunicorns...I'm still here, reading comments when I can. We've been dealing with a medical issue that kinda slapped us in the face.
Last month our 32 year old daughter was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer. We were all surprised because as far as we knew, there was no history of breast cancer on either side of our families. But we were all upbeat about it because it was Stage 1 and my daughter found it early. The doctors were surprised she even found the lump because it was so small. Because she is so young and there is no family history, they sent away a blood sample for genetic testing. We opted not to tell family or close friends yet as we wanted to wait until the tests results came back and she had decided what she wanted to do. Imagine our surprise when we found out this past Monday that she tested positive for the BRCA1 mutation. Which means either myself or my husband is the carrier. This mutation has been linked to breast cancer, ovarian cancer and pancreatic cancer.
On my dad's side of the family, we have a history of skin cancer. His mom died of melanoma which has been linked to this mutation. However, my nana was the only one in the family who had melanoma and they say it pertains to two or more cases in the family. So the doctors weren't sure I was the carrier. However, the flood gates opened up when we called my mother-in-law, my sister-in-law and my husband's first cousin.
My father-in-law emigrated to the US from Germany with his parents and six siblings in 1927 when he was 10 years old. There were four boys and three girls. We found out that all seven of the siblings died from some form of cancer. My f-I-l had colon cancer that spread to his liver and he died at age 68; one of his sisters died at age 64 of pancreatic cancer; another sister's son died in his 60's of pancreatic cancer; the third sister had breast cancer in her 70's and had a mastectomy. Several years later she had breast cancer in the other breast but opted for no treatment as she was in her 80's and eventually passed away. Another brother's daughter died of leukemia in her 40's. Another brother had lymphoma. Needless to say, my husband was floored.
As for our daughter, she has no choice on her treatment. Chemo with double mastectomy (and reconstruction) and she has to have her ovaries removed before the age of 35. Our older daughter now has to be tested to see if she has the mutation and my husband and I are being tested to see which one of us has it. My granddaughter is not quite three, but she will have to be tested in her early 20's to see if she has it and if she does, plan accordingly.
So that is where we are at. My daughter has a great attitude and looks at it as an inconvenience. She did get a second opinion at Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston and they confirmed what her doctors said. So keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Don't forget to do your monthly self-exams and yearly mammograms. Early detection is key.
Thanks for all the polite replies to my post from last night, everyone.
I guess I'm a bit stymied about why the talk about Kate continues, but that's just me. Seems like everyone enjoys each others company, a camaraderie had developed. You have something in common to share. Kate, no doubt, thinks it's because she's such a fascination person that people can't stop talking about her. That part is too bad. I'm of the opinion that if there was no talk it would give her inflated ego a good kick in the butt......but that' just me, as I said.

capecodmama, you are a reminder that we all need to be aware and educated about our health options. I wish both of your daughters a healthy future. Thank you.
I think Dr. Michael Feiz is one of the doctors on Botched, another cable TV show, so there must be some cross-over filming planned. If I recall correctly, Ms. New York & Nicole Eggert have already been on Botched.
************
The Botched docs are plastic surgeons Dr. Terry Dubrow and Dr. Paul Nassif. Dr. Feiz is a bariatric surgeon. Looking at pics of him via a Google search, I don't remember seeing him on Botched. I do agree that June's probably got some exploitative show in the works for this, but I don't think she'd fit the Botched criteria which focuses on patients who've previously had botched procedures and go on the show for revision surgery - unless she had something done we don't know about and the docs are fixing it for her.
Either way, good for June for doing something for her health, but I hope she's done it for the right reasons and not for a tv show and isn't counting on it being a magic cure. If she doesn't drastically change her and her family's eating habits the surgery will be worthless. June was an unhealthy weight, but her daughters also need an intervention and mentors. The last tabloid pic I saw of Alana (HBB), it was sad how large she was.

15 min. isn't going to keep Kate's mug on tv, and based on historical evidence, we haven't had any effect on getting her off. To that end, why not keep this blog going?
The invisible hand is working, despite the fact that TLC has continued to film. To wit, take a look at this Google trend tracker:
https://www.google.com/trends/explore#q=kate%20gosselin
Link
Kate went from obscurity circa 2007, to the zenith of her popularity in 2009, and now back nearly to baseline in 2015/16.
Other sources have shown Kate's popularity in sharp decline and she never recovered.
So, that's good and bad. Kate made the decision that any media attention is good media attention, and embraced a very negative public persona. That worked for a couple years and got her face in the media A LOT.
Unfortunately for the kids, that means no one wants to touch her with a 10-foot pole (in terms of giving her a job), and all that's left is filming her children.
Well, besides the occasional D-list gig like Celeb Apprentice.

Admin and other AC afficionados - A.C. was on Watch What Happens Live (Andy Cohen's show) last night with his mother, Gloria Vanderbilt. It was a great show. I believe the show will be rerun this weekend and a few times next week if you're interested.
And, best of all - "Nothing Left Unsaid", the documentary Anderson made with his mother which aired originally on HBO, will be on this weekend on CNN - with many opportunities to catch a rerun in the next few days.

I wonder if Kate really believes, in her little fantasy world of delusion and grandeur, that things are the same as back then, or does she accept the fact that time changes things, but continues to convince the fans that she is as relevant as she was in the past?

Susan1956 (#117), hey, TFW was on Celebrity Wife Swap and isn't married, so I think there's some leniency on accuracy with these shows!

Why is this person being identified as one of Kate's fans? I hate to admit it, but I got hooked into reading a lot of her tweets. I think it was the image she tweeted of the sonogram of a womb wherein Jesus was hanging on the cross that got my attention. I stopped reading when I became quite depressed thinking that these poor souls are not only horribly bigoted, but either slept through or never attended a minute of school. Their ignorance on all levels is absolutely astounding to me. I'm kind of in the mood to Google the sociology of the Appalachian people. The little I know has to do the their extreme poverty.
A bit off topic here, but I read a wonderful book by David Baldacci who grew up in the Appalachian mountains of West Virginia. Great book. His best in my opinion.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wish_You_Well_(novel)
People like the one being commented on do exist in the backwoods....but that doesn't stop me from being astounded and depressed by their ignorance. I guess the politically correct crowd will take great exception to me using such words and any kind of humor about them or to say they seem like some sort of anomaly. but they are and there will be no apologies from me. In this rapidly moving technologically developing world, they can use the technology, but it merely broadcasts their ignorance.
Anyway, back to topic, I wasn't able to find that she tweets to Kate. How did she become one of Kate's fans?
Stalking Jon at his DJ gigs?

The tweet that she watched Kate's show popped up on Kate's timeline and it was posted here that, out of curiosity, her timeline was checked. I think that's the only reason those tweets were found. I hate to admit it, too, but I've read many of the tweets.
Yes, that circle of friends is indeed a curious group and although amusing at times, it's really sad to think that in this day there remain those who are so uneducated. I checked out the tweets and gosh, you really can get hooked on it. It's West Virginia (Huntington for one of them), but I noticed that they go to Ohio, also.
I sound like Milo, and that's not a good thing, but darn it, the way of life, and their language (spelling words the way they pronounce them) is interesting. If you read the one fan's tweets and see with whom she tweets, they all appear to be from the same area and education level, or lack of it. It's fascinating. One of their cats gave birth to a stillborn kitten, the person tweeted a photo of the poor thing and named it Bernie Sanders, I guess because she thinks he and his campaign are dead in the water. It's all so bizarre.
I don't know much about the Appalachians, but I agree, I am curious enough to google the sociology of the people there. I don't know about the current poverty level there, but they do have Twitter and social media!
"Anyway, back to topic, I wasn't able to find that she tweets to Kate. How did she become one of Kate's fans?" (Deliverance, 130).

Deliverance, it was posted upthread or on a previous thread. I'll look when I get a chance, but I know I read it here. She said something about being excited to watch Kate's shows and if I remember, some other shows as well.
Patricia Heaton just won a Daytime Emmy for her cooking show. And poor Katie Kookbook can't

It's incredibly telling that TLC gave her her OWN SHOW, and she was even filming pilots, and she couldn't pull it off.
Wow...how bad must Kate have been to just say, "um, no"?

No way! Milo never, in a million years, would admit that Miss Sixteen did the deed and got herself pregnant out of wedlock, not even to tease Kate. That would be admitting that her strict discipline and LOM's rigid curfew rules didn't work. In her neck of the woods, having the daughter of a good Chistian woman end up pregnant and unmarried would be an ultimate failure as a parent.

A couple of years ago, Milo posted about her teen son and pre-teen daughter. Not long later, she posted a picture of some property that clearly showed a large toy truck that seemed more suited to a 5 year old.
Milo seemed to infer that was her property, and we jokingly inferred that the son still enjoyed his back yard toys.

I agree that a couple of them have gotten heavy. And at least a couple I would say are chubby. TFW puts them out there and people are going to have opinions...don't let them get to you

I don't feel it appropriate to talk about the children in this manner. They are all approaching puberty and it is perfectly normal for kids to be somewhat rounder and then thin out as they grow. They are children and puberty can be rough enough without public discussion of their size. I know their mother may not respect their privacy, but we should refrain from making these type of comments.

If I remember correctly. she said something about it actually belonging to her son, like "Look what I found. My son's truck" that it was a shame that the kids grew up so fast and that the toy truck was still in her yard. The thing that was suspect about that photo was that there was no rust, no sign of being there for many years, no dirt, nothing, which is why some joked that the truck was new and he was still playing with toys!
Maybe Milo was always just catfishing and got bored.

lol! I recently had the catfish dinner special at Cracker Barrel and had to think of her! My mind works in strange ways...
Where in the world is AuntieAnn? The local Rumspringa brewery is wondering why the drop in sales.
This pertains to a conversation we had here several.years ago. It's good news.

For those of you who are semi-hooked on the tweets from the West Virginny folks:
xxxxxx
Jesus told me to pray for y'all today- all my followers. Will be kneeling and praying all day, head bowed all the day long
xxxxxx
Taking ciggie and Twitter break from praying then dropping back to these knees as fast as arthritis will let me #bless
Yep. Totally understandable. Gotta break for a smoke and social media!
There is nothing anyone could say on this blog that even compares to the destruction of those kids' body images by their mother. We talked, at length, about how thin those kids were years ago so I do not believe it's inappropriate to comment that they are blossoming with normal teen weight gain. No one would notice except for the fact that Kate puts them out there publicly. She is totally responsible for every horrible thing said about them and seldom does anyone on this blog cross the line. Really, you can't have it both ways when discussing public figures. Nobody called the kids fat. They are developing normally, a very good thing.

I'm very happy I finally get to say, "in my day, we used to be able to see whales and elephants in the zoo."
Maybe I misunderstood the comment but I thought the comment was the children look healthy, have healthy, normal weights. I for one think it's quite a relief, they were too thin for a time and the portion control was concerning. You can portion control a 6 year old but that's not going to fly with 11 year olds.

Yes!!!!! I couldn't be happier for these elephants and others like them, living tortured unnatural lives in captivity. It's something I have advocated for, over the last decade as I learned about the plight of the circus/zoo elephant.

Yes, admin, that is what I meant by my comment. They now look healthy, not chubby or plump, not overweight, just healthy as opposed to the underfed, partly emaciated, they way they looked in the past. Remember that photo of the one boy on the fishing boat excursion??

Under the veranda is pretty scary these days!
I'm very happy I finally get to say, "in my day, we used to be able to see whales and elephants in the zoo."

That's what I said to DH. We're going to be able to regale kids with stories of live elephants being led around by a hook, and being chained to the ground, just to entertain people.
Must be my hormones today, but it got me to thinking of "Water For Elephants" and just brings tears to my eyes.

Or put there to convince the non-fans that she really does has a family and she's not catfishing from a facility somewhere.
Does anyone here connect with Auntie on other social media? Not meaning to sound like Gladys, and although we don't actually know Auntie, that doesn't mean we don't worry about others with whom we have gotten to know here on this blog.
Auntie, please check in, if only to say, "I'm fine."
Maybe Milo was always just catfishing…

YES! Your comment has been my own opinion for a
l-o-n-g time. I would add Milo's whole purpose was to
laugh at Kate through over-the-top adulations.

Nothing is out of the realm of possibility, but why would someone subject themselves to the ridicule and humiliation from the non-fans on Twitter? I mean, you'd have to have a very warped sense of humor or be a glutton for punishment if you set yourself up as the court jester imbecile! What kind of person has such a low sense of self-esteem?

It's all part of the game, IMO. If "Milo" isn't a
real person, there are no feelings to get hurt. No matter what you say about Milo, the person/people behind that name are not feeling her pain. It would be like insulting a sock puppet. It bleats but is not really little lamb.
The fun is in getting people to respond to your tweets and comment on them, becoming kind of a focal point yourself.
This is only an opinion. I have no inside knowledge.
Fidosmommy (#188), I think you hit on it when you said that the person was became a focal point
herself. I don't think she is a catfish or a plant or an employee or a sock. I think she is someone who got a tiny taste of celebrity when
TFW gave her that shout-out, and has been chasing the dragon ever since. She loves the insults and
the teasing, because it makes her appear to be a martyr for the cause -- the ultimate declaration of love and support. And it gives her the opportunity to feel more of a kinship with TFW.
She can say she knows what it's like to be a victim of vicious lies and gossip, too. That's how she separates herself from the garden variety fan. I think she fancies herself TFW's pet, and takes great pride and pleasure in that. And her disappearance makes me think she was taken down a peg privately and is off licking her wounds.
@FlimsyFlamsy I get where you're coming from. The only thing that im curious is that why there's always an excuse to not meet Kate? What is it that she's afraid of?If Kate is this nice person that she believes she is then surely Kate wouldn't care about who she is or what she looks like, unless she's not the person she is.
OT.....I am addicted to those Christian church ladies in West Virginia. My goodness sometimes the language and they need "ciggie" breaks from prayin' and one of them has a friend who had Geriatric surgery and lost 45 pounds. Another one is looking for paternity clothes to borrow for a relative....I thought maybe at first it was a tag team for comedy, but I think they are for real.

How do you think 'they' got the elephants in that movie to do what they wanted?
I think people need to stop watching ALL entertainment in regards to elephants. Only then will those magnificent beasts be truly *free*.

Yes, foxy, I also think they are real. It's not just a lone comic out there. One of them tweeted that Ivana will make a wonderful First Lady.
Some recent tweets:
"Sometimes I wander what Jesus did when he was a little boy. You know before he was put up on that ol cross to bore sins"
"Member host of Double Dare had that Obsesseeve Compulseeve. Makes me squall on act Alisha Lynn loved that show"
Did you see this one? This person is the one who was upset because her son had sex toys and she didn't know what they were. Someone just tweeted her, tongue-in-cheek...
"what's CJ doing with his organ lately?
Her reply was:
"He don't play organ he plays trombone"
I have no words, other than that this group certainly does a lot of squalling on a daily basis! ;)
Anon this time..
It appears some new so called-SAGE posters have been able to change the tone of this blog. ùinteresting

Color me confused. Who or what are SAGE posters, and are their posts INteresting or UNinteresting? These are honest questions, btw.

Was she talking about the film? She could have been referencing the book. No elephants were harmed in the writing of a book.
Before it was a film, like many films it was a very popular book. If I'm not mistaken best seller for months and months. I remember when that book exploded.
Sageway Express is the blog that hates this blog. We have had many people leave this blog and start posting over there. They copy and paste the comments here and make fun of some of us, a few in particular and the constaints we have posting here. I read both places. They are always wrong and they allow no moderation so it really is refreshing in that way.

There is a Hawaii 5 0 episode called "ka haunaele" that I saw the other week. It had a story line about elephants and zoos. This discussion made me think of it if anyone is interested.
