Coming up on Kate Plus 8, school shopping for clothes, backpacks, and Kate gets distracted by something shiny and starts buying things for herself. This is a literal repeat of at least a couple other back-to-school boring episodes, including Kate buying much more for herself than for the kids. No one in production is even trying to do something original, and why would they when phoning it in is enough? Kate doesn't believe in being fair because that wastes money. She should write a blog post on saving money by not being fair, Dave Ramsey would be proud.
It's always about Kate, Cara explains, who is old enough to be on to her mother but not old enough to realize when she should probably shush, which is my favorite age.
Kate is more orange than usual today in her couch interviews--I would say it's "Trump orange," which is a color I better patent soon before someone else steals it. But in the footage of her packing up the van her hue is back to normal, which is more eggshell white. Hannah gets stress headaches, Kate says as she discloses what should be confidential medical information. At 11 she's stressed? What on earth is she stressed about? Kate packs her into the van with a blanket.
Is that a booster seat? Wtf? I understand the carseat guidelines have shifted to include much older children now (in Pennsylvania, the law is booster seat up until age 7), but these kids are all way too old for that now. Most seat belts will fit children 4'9 and up comfortably and safely. None of these children are that short anymore. Give it up, Kate, they are not toddlers and haven't been for a long time.
It looks horrendous carting a sick child to the mall, I know, Kate says. Correct, it does. So why do it? A set teacher certainly wouldn't permit this or risk losing their license. Kate did the same to one of the boys not too long ago. They have a full time nanny, why can't Hannah stay behind with her? Kate explains this is just a Hannah thing and she'll get over it in a few hours.
There's Shoka again, a mere inches from the moving tires of a several-ton vehicle. Grr!!!
Dowdy Deanna just happened to be visiting and takes the twins off separately at the mall. Why couldn't Deanna stay home with Hannah, and make the twins suck it up and go with Kate and the rest of their siblings? Why do I hurt my brain wondering these things?
The boys say they don't like shopping other than for toys. By the looks of them they don't much enjoy endless couch interviews either as Aaden tosses his head back and lets out a huge yawn.
You know something that I didn't notice much in the past but is really starting to irritate me? How funny-cute Kate thinks she is. She tries to make these little self-depricating jokes and they're just annoying, not funny. "I get distracted by things I want to buy .... maybe I even acted like a person who had never been to a mall before. Did I remind you of someone like that? " She smiles like a goon.
Typically, no one cares what was done in year's past or why or how they need what they need, who likes what or doesn't, and all the whining and begging that ensues.
Joel says they don't want the same backpacks because that makes them look younger. Exactly!! Of course the kids don't want to dress alike or have the same things, contrary to the sheeple claiming maybe they like that. Of course they don't like that, no 11-year-old likes looking like a baby. The only nice thing about the fact that these kids a decade later are still working is that they are validating pretty much everything we predicted about how they likely feel.
I enjoy watching Kate try to reason with a pre-teen. It's one of the few tolerable things left of this God forsaken reality show.
The kids want her to buy them water bottles but Kate passes on that, initially anyway. She says bottles get dirty and disgusting and they leave water in them and she ends up being the one always cleaning them out. I can't disagree there, reusable water bottles are a great idea in your perfect green fantasy but rarely work out in reality. I have a Contiga cup which is an incredible invention, when I get around to cleaning out last month's English breakfast tea.
Half a minute later Kate's buying them water bottles. She is either the biggest pushover in the world or is just trying to be on her best behavior for the cameras. Much like how she parents in general, she only seems to understand the tangible aspect of raising kids, the stuff, the things. She doesn't understand good parenting is not that you bought kids water bottles because they really wanted them, but rather good parenting is making sure your sick child stays home with someone they trust instead of being dragged along on this trip, or better yet shop on another day. Hannah says shopping stresses her mom out. I wonder if that's why Hannah in turn gets stressed out.
Kate selects some tupperware and admits 90% of her shopping is done online. I was just going to say why don't they buy all this crap online like normal people? Does anyone even go to malls anymore? Malls are closing across the country at an alarming rate because people just don't go anymore. You can get better deals online usually anyway, and almost all stores now have a liberal return policy with free shipping no questions asked. You save stress, time, and gas and can try things on in the comfort of your own home. I'm guessing the other 10% of Kate's big box store shopping occurs solely because of the cameras.
During an excruciatingly boring conversation about gym clothes I can hear one of the kids politely saying "excuse me, Mommy," trying to get her attention. She is ignored of course. It makes sense now why these kids shout, scream and stomp around so much. Being quiet and polite gets you nowhere.
We're moving "owwn" to the next thing which is I guess clothes. This could easily have been the same footage from the premiere episode of this season, School's Out! where they went to the department store to buy luggage. It's that similar. Kate's helping Leah pick out some dresses and Alexis wants something too. Naturally Kate's comment about how shopping isn't always going to be fair was about Alexis, the least girlie of the girls. Figures. I'm not sure I even agree with Kate about how it can't be fair. It seems like this can easily be made fair. Give the kids each $50, $75 or whatever your budget is and have them pick out what they want with your approval. They're old enough to handle the money and pick out their clothes and that makes it perfectly fair. That noggin of hers sure thinks funny.
This is rather interesting, I assumed the twins didn't want to shop with the younger kids because they seem to hate sharing the same planet as them, but Mady reveals that actually she doesn't understand why she didn't shop with the other kids since she needs clothes too, and that she "wasn't allowed." Wasn't allowed by whom? Production? Conversely, Kate claims the twins didn't want to shop with the younger kids. I immediately assume Kate's lying and Mady's telling the truth. So was separating them out done to have two separate shopping segments and stretch this out? Hmm!!
Anywho, the twins are with Deanna and picking out stuff and it's all absolutely uneventful and boring. Kate buys their boring stuff and then does that sarcastic "thank you, Mommy," thing that some annoying parents say to their kids when their kids forget to say thank you. In defense of Mady, Kate started it, and Mady explains that she was going to say thank you, was in fact about to say it. I'm going to give Mady the benefit of the doubt on this. They had just bought the shoes, at least give the child until the car ride home to thank her.
This sets Mady off on a snide little tirade, accusing Kate of treating her like a brat. "Thank you, but you can say it to yourself," she snaps, whatever that means. She is I would guess about six months away from saying, "Thank you, but you should be thanking us because that's our money you're buying it with." Just ask the former child actor Missy Francis how old she was when she realized the same about her mother and started embezzling her own money to herself just to be sure she'd see any of it by the time she was 18.
Mady can be trying, she's mean to her siblings and I think the way Kate allows her to speak to her is completely unacceptable, but I also understand what Mady's saying here, and that is that Kate is unreasonable, disrespectful and patronizing to her, yet expects perfect respect back. It's a set-up, it's unfair and certainly very obnoxious.
All Kate can do is sigh and ignore her at this point, and I think she's wise to shut up and just let Mady say her peace. Kate won't take any of it to heart though, which is a pity. A little give and take with this dysfunctional relationship might do wonders.
It's a good thing we're not playing a drinking game this afternoon because I'd be soused to the gills. I just heard two typicallys and an "in general." Kate basically admits she's bribing the kids with pretzels. To buy shoes, or really just to stick around and film? I sense the latter. Mmm, I love mall pretzels. And mall cinnamon buns. That's all I miss about malls now that I don't go anymore like most people. Speaking of which, some of the finest television "short films" were made in a Cinnabon in Omaha. Watch Better Call Saul, the best show on television this year, and you'll understand.
I love the way Lancaster is pronounced in Pennsylvania: Lane-kes-ter. That is the correct way if I may say so. We have a Lancaster here, a medium-sized city in L.A. County but pronounced Lan-caster, and to go with its inferior pronunciation it's a desert with lots of snakes and varmints and not enough gas stations to run your tank down to almost empty and be fine.
How ironic, Kate has wonderful fond memories of her grandparents taking her to the mall. Grandpa gave them each $5 to spend. Sounds like even ole Gramps understands how to make shopping "fair."
The store didn't have a good selection of shoes, didn't have their sizes or the styles they want, and it doesn't look like they ended up buying anything. Remember those days? Now we have the inter-webs, where I promise you can find your size and style somewhere in that vast wonderland even if you might have to resort to ebay. Kate says for the second time how much she hates all this. Well, she makes it harder on herself. All this could be accomplished with a few clicks and a credit card that's already automatically entered by the little green men at Google.
The little people are swimming again, which I realize now was a good excuse for production to try out their underwater camera rigs. They don't come cheap.
We're back with a completely unrelated subplot storyline to plot A, about how they're going to refurbish their picnic table. Kate and the younger kids head to the hardware store. The twins complain that they were not told they were going to the hardware store, they just woke up and they were gone. Sheesh, I hope schmoopy at least left them a note! Assuming it's true, that the twins weren't informed of this outing, this is what I mean by Kate not respecting them. You can't be as rude and inconsiderate as she apparently is to them, then expect respect back. It's a two-way street.
Kate admits she doesn't "typically" take them to do errands like this, but the cameras are here so .... well, she really claims she took them them because this is going to be a whole-family project, but the truth is the kids are just in her way and she's not making any effort to include them in this shopping trip, and this is really about the cameras.
Mady and Cara couldn't be more unenthused about helping to sand the table. They're insufferable but understandable.
Kate pulls out a power sander and makes a whole big deal about operating this machinery. This happened before too, just a couple episodes ago when she worked with a chain saw. I hate women who think its funny and cute when they tackle traditionally male jobs and act all damsel in distress about it. At one time this show recycled plot ideas from a season or two ago, now it's just an episode or two ago. It's like a blond bimbo high-pitched awful version of Groundhog Day, a movie I hate in the first place. Ha, Kate's awful at sanding, it runs every which way taking the scenic route down the table. Either that or she's really playing up the woman fumbling around with power tools gag. Amy Schumer she is not.
Of course most of the kids start to gradually wander away, bored, now that Kate is power sanding and not including them or even letting them try it. What does she expect?
Just an observation now that yet another too long and boring segment is over, but why didn't they pull out the power sander sooner? Why did they all sit there with sandpaper blocks and slave away for who knows how long when Kate had a power sander right there all along that could have done the entire job in 10 minutes?
This is a rhetorical questions I suppose, and the answer to most of my rhetorical questions is usually, because it was being filmed. It makes no sense to do things quickly and efficiently when you're being filmed, then you'd never be able to find enough footage to fill up 60 minutes of this drivel every week. You can only roll your eyes I guess. The kids are half onto all this and will be all the way there soon.

Commercials, and when we get back they're still sanding that god damned picnic table! I feel like I'm in sandpaper purgatory and can't get out. A somewhat new thing they are doing during the kids' couch interviews is have them say the same thing at the same time. It's Children of the Corn creepy.
Amy Schumer here is working with an air compressor now, acting all inept again. Blow me.
Kate's glad the full-time nanny Andrea happened to be there since for some reason Andrea knows about how to stain picnic tables. Why wouldn't Andrea be there? She is their full-time nanny. The kids trickle back in now, interested in painting. Instead of whining about it, maybe Kate should just appreciate what they are willing to help with, little as it is. Finally after two long segments the table is finished, it looks great and the kids are mildly proud of their efforts. It really is amazing what a little sanding and staining can do. That's what she said.
Commercials, this time the promo is about people who are 600 pounds and a network that still pretends watching people pull their rolls of fat out from their pants and roll it around has educational value.
We're back with the third subplot in this episode that's actually related to the school shopping this time, final preparations for their first day of school. Mady makes an interesting comment that it's not cool to be entering high school, though she likes they don't have to wear uniforms anymore. I have never in all my life met a kid who wasn't thrilled to finally be going to high school with the big kids, even if there were a little first day nerves about it. It's just a strange comment. The twins are going shopping for clothes again? The first trip wasn't enough?
They're at one of those small boutique clothing shops that most women can't afford to shop at until at least a decade after college is over and several salaried paychecks later. In typical Mady and Cara fashion the twins are ungrateful, disagreeable and unhelpful to the very nice salesperson helping them who apparently cleared the store out for them. Kate defends their rude and unacceptable behavior by saying she was just like that as a teen. Well, then they get it from her.
Kate can't help herself and goes after all the shiny stuff, grabbing up dresses and blouses and handbags like it's a pop-up swag tent. The twins knew that would happen, heh.
Kate's still defending Mady who is making snide comments by saying it was actually a round-about way for Mady to say Kate looked nice. Lol! Kate, "oh my gosh you look like a human" is not a nice comment no matter how you twist and turn yourself around to make it one. She is the worst, no wonder these twins are the way they are. The music during this segment was pulled from stock 17th century harpsichords, which is random.

Up next, they're going to another boutique??? I really am in shock how much is being repeated and recycled in this episode, and the sheer greed I'm witnessing.
At last the final segment. What's the point in clearing out an expensive boutique for ungrateful teenagers if they don't like anything? Cara is actually arguing with Kate that she has enough summer clothes, she doesn't want anymore, and Mady doesn't seem to want anything at this place. Why in the world is Kate pushing them into buying summer clothes on a back-to-school trip in the Northeast when 95% of your school year will be spent in winter clothes?
Kate complains they're in a phase where they have very narrow likes and don't want to branch out. So? That's normal. At that age I think I had one or two sweaters and a pair of jeans I wore to death, as long as they are washed regularly it's not hurting anything. What does Kate care? Just get them what they like, online, and be done with it. She really picks a lot of fights she doesn't need to.
Mady gives Kate one too many "it's all about you" comments and Kate finally loses her shit, haha. Love it.
A third store???? This is truly agonizing. Just take my word for it absolutely nothing interesting happened here. Kate suggests she and Mady get these completely ugly sweater pants and share them, "share custody of them" she says. Oh yeah cause Kate's so great at sharing custody of anything. Mady, you'll never see those sweater pants again except maybe for a Tuesday night dinner once in awhile but that's it.
It's finally over, and next time we pick out more clothes but at least it's for Kate's fake-date, and her rather cute (!) suitor, nice selection from all those head shots, production! Baw-hahhaa, the side hug and turned cheek at the end of the date. Shade! Cannot wait.
Little people playing with bubbles, and we're out.

Only two that use the same name from here post there that I've seen. No mass defection. Why be bullied in an unmoderated forum?
Exactly Flimsy. People are adults. It seems to bother them so much that no one cares where people want to post. We're still pretty active though not as much as the heyday, could it be because people move on from a show that has been on a decade? It's not always personal and no one should assume as such. As proof, sometimes old posters will pop back in now and again to say hey guys. So, it wasn't personal. But I don't think they will ever stop trying to make us feel like it is.
Over and Out 1, that twitter person gets confused a lot. This death could have happened 20 years ago. She thinks Ted Bundy killed her cousin and posted a picture of "Al Bundy", and wants Farrah Faucet to make a new movie....go figure.
I think this blog has a lot of life left in it as there are so many different subjects to talk about that are much more interesting than Katie. There are so many different things that I for one have learned about here.
It seems to bother them so much that no one cares where people want to post.

Yep, there's no way to prove any of this. But, they have a long, and very immature, history of stealing names here and pretending to be posters when they post here.
Patterns repeat themselves and circumstantial evidence is what it is. If they would hijack a name to post here, they would do it elsewhere. If they want people to buy what they're selling, it would help not to have that long and sordid history of hijacking names.
It's just not logical that anyone would go from this blog to that one. They may got a blog with different interests or another reality tv snark site but they are not going to go to a Kate Fan site unless they were misrepresenting themselves here

OT- anyone watch this season of House of Cards? I thought the season was good in that it moved along at a good pace, but seriously???????

I'm really cracking up at the tweets being posted here from the WV gals. Makes you just shake your head, doesn't it? lol
Tucker's Mom, I found this season's House of Cards disappointing. It may have even jumped the shark, although in this political season, maybe not!

Hey folks - I'm one former poster here that just happened to stop by today and saw this topic of conversation. I wandered over to that "other blog" once and I won't say a lot about what I thought, except none of it was good. However, people are free to post where they feel most comfortable.
I stopped posting here when I could no longer stand the political positions of most of the posters. (Please understand - I'm not trying to start a fight; merely explaining why I don't post here anymore.) I didn't make a big production of leaving and in fact, this is the first time I've been back and/or offered an explanation at all. In my opinion, the people who still blog here do so for a number of reasons, and one of the primary reasons is that they have come to know and like their fellow posters (for the most part) and have developed bonds that go beyond Kate Plus 8. That's why the blog is still around. I have no ill feelings towards posters here, but we are simply too different in our political beliefs for me to want to participate anymore. That may be the reason some others have left as well (but I don't have any proof of that, and besides it doesn't really matter).
Oh, who cares. They are cutting and pasting like crazy with this talk.
I watched House of Cards and I thought this past season was much better than the season before. It is getting kind of long in the tooth so I hope next season wraps it up.
TLC has nothing posted online yet regarding Mother's Day shows.
Millicent, So nice to see you! I don't know what your political beliefs are and I understand wanting to not be part of those discussions. I feel the same way and just read but stay quiet when it comes to politics. (I'm one of those east coast liberals lol) Hope you'll stop back whenever the mood strikes!
Hi Millicent, nice to see your post. Your reasons for leaving are why I hate to see political discussions here. Usually hard feelings all around. I enjoyed reading your contributions to other subjects, so hope to see you return.
The other blog is filled with the stupidest sheep on the planet. They claim they don't love Kate, yet they defend her all day long. Anything that is said here is what they are all about. Can you even imagine having a blog for the express purpose of taking comments from another blog and posting them and trashing them there. And yeah, they pride themselves on the fact that they are unmoderated but they use that to make themselves feel so much better and then use that to jump on any new person that comes there. But what I will never understand, is why people can't read where they want and say what they want without another blog waiting to trash you on their site. Makes no sense. They are so dense.
Oh my, someone has really kicked the ant pile over there. They don't like it one little bit when they are called on their trash. I love Sage saying they are a mirror blog holding what is said here to the light of day and how stupid we are. HA! Stupid is having a blog for the purpose of reading another blog and posting it on your blog to trash other people who have as much right to their opinion as they do!!!
Hi Millicent. I hear you. I had to take a break also. Best to not talk politics. But then there's always Kate that brings me back, LOL.

I agree. I avoid the political discussions. But you are right, Millicent; we have come to 'know' one another here, and feel a kinship of sorts. I miss your posts by the way.Best wishes to you.
Millicent (#22), it's great to see you here today.
And I appreciate your candor about why you stopped posting. I hope you'll feel comfortable to post again, but understand if you don't.
Amen, Millicent! I really, really hate political and religious discussions mainly because those are such personal topics to me. Especially religion. I don't care what religion a person is or is not, I'm pretty sure it's not my place to hammer it.
As far as politics, despite the fact that I find it boring, I also know a person's sense of patriotism is part and parcel of political opinions. I don't like seeing that trounced on like a bone tossed out to waiting wolves. There's a lot of growling, increased agitation and after a few rounds of biting, somebody goes home hurt.
Politics, like proctology, should only be discussed in
places it belongs IMO - in front of those to agree to discuss it.
There. I've had my say. I feel better. Thanks!
I think some time ago most of us pretty much mutually agreed it's probably better not to talk politics here, and we haven't since. Most people here seem to take a healthy interest in current events and enjoy discussing them here so it's actually rather impressive people have respected this informal rule despite politics dominating current events right now.
Hi, Millicent. I am an oldie/regular here. I miss your posts.
Glad you took the time to say hello today.
PS: I am in Vegas right now. Taking a "quiet" break in my hotel room. Sunshine and a stunning view of mountains out my window. (Palm's)

And I thank you all for it. It makes for a much more welcoming place to check into, IMO.
Millicent, me too. I, too, left because of the political talk and the tone of the blog changed. There was an insistence that certain points were the correct ones, when in fact, multiple points of view aren't necessarily mutually exclusive. It became tedious. Used to love this blog and hope all is well with all of the posters.
Despite various viewpoints on our country and world we've all found common ground in outrage over children who are unprotected and exploited. The very fact that everyone here seems to agree that's not a good thing for children, in my opinion, tells me I share enough common ground with people here not to let all the other ways we may be different come between us. I never want to be in a room where everyone agrees with everyone else on everything. That tells me people are either not being honest with others about how they really feel or are not thinking critically enough to have their own independent thoughts. Group think is not good. I have and have always thought that differences are better for all relationships.
Just my opinion, but I don't think different political beliefs is good reason not to talk to people anymore. Many people never share their political beliefs and yet you may be working, collaborating, or interacting with someone whose beliefs you don't agree with. What's the difference whether you know or don't know their beliefs?

Millicent...good to hear from you!
The political talk did get intense for a while.
It got started, IMO, because of TFW's connection to one of the candidates and evolved from there.
I'm glad we're not talking about that anymore.
Racism??? I've never seen anyone here show leanings that would suggest racism by any stretch of the imagination. What am I missing.
Yes, I agree Mel. I think what I wish would be forgiven is the political talk did stem for a reasonable place where there was a direct and long standing tie from Kate to one of the candidates, specifically Your Honor. It was not started with malicious intent or to derail anything but rather was a legitimate topic of interest. I for one am still wondering why Kate won't say anything about your honor or what she is even paying attention to, I find that aspect both interesting and funny. Once the topic just wasn't working anymore it stopped and hasn't started again since. A few missteps in an overall good conversation is forgivable, IMO.

Last night on the Roloff's update, Jacob was not there. I wonder if he is still estranged from the family. Jeremy said he is in California and wasn't available for the update. It is sad how this invasion into the lives of children effects them right into adulthood.
Yeah, Amy. I read there but do not post. I believe the truth about Jon is somewhere in the middle but Kate's continued forced filming of the kids is untenable considering their ages now and I suspect some on the other side may be uncomfortable with it since they do not like any criticism regarding the kids. They find no fault with Kate but we are the lousy human beings trash- talking the kids. They should read the comments on Facebook about Mady because who's responsible for that? Not us. It's entirely Kate. I have always believed she has the right to earn a living, just on her own, and unfortunately the path she has chosen with TLC demands the kids too.
Last night was the final episode of the Duggar
girls' show. I suspect they'll get another season.
One of them is bound to get pregnant (maybe both), and that will surely have TLC seeing dollar signs with more viewers. And it there is no pregnancy to milk, they can always bring back Josh for a Very Special Episode. Ratings gold.
Hi Millicent! Please come back I stopped for a while too due to some of the political stuff I found upsetting. That and I seemed to get jumped on for no reason (probably sheep droppings)
The Duggar numbers were certainly good enough to continue filming-they did better than Kate, and she's still going, so...
More of the same. SSDD.
It will be interesting to see if they keep (just) Anna on the show when everyone knows Josh is back.
The only thing that will stop the Duggar filming is if Josh gets caught toe tapping in an airport men's room!
Any airdate yet for TFW's latest round of

While I dislike many political discussions, especially with regard to the upcoming Presidential election, I just scroll on by. I may not contribute much, but I still find this blog compelling, and the original intent re: the G 8 important to me. I love most of the OTs and the lovely posters and Admin & staff. But I understand when people drift away or need some time off.
Flimsy, the only thing scheduled for Kate is the Date rerun tonight at 1:08 a.m. Maybe tomorrow TLC will update. The tups' birthday is May 10, a Tuesday. It would be a first with no tweets from her. Particularly suspect would be no tweet patting herself on the back on Mother's Day. I bet the tabloids have no interest in the sextuplets turning 12; maybe when they turn 13.
I will add it is extremely likely she has filmed or will film the sextuplets birthday party. I believe last year TLC aired it in June or July. God forbid those kids don't get a filmed birthday complete with TLC freebies.

According to my cable guide, through May 17, there are no new (or old) episodes of Kate plus 8 airing.
Her regular spot on Tuesday nights, is now taken over by "Little People, Big World" at 9pm and "Outdaughtered" at 10pm. "Outdaughtered" is a show based on the Busby quints.
Perhaps the delay in airing new episodes is due to TLC deciding whether their new show "Outdaughtered" will become the new "Kate plus 8". If the ratings for that show are better than Kate plus 8, I think TLC may decide that Kate plus 8 is a thing of the past.
I just have a question for jamez(james)vader1194.

TLC scored with the Busbys. They found another young couple with HOM's willing to sell their children's privacy.
The all-girls angle will lend plenty of story lines to film, for many years to come.
Can't wait for the potty training episodes!!!!
I cannot imagine TLC shelving what they have already filmed. My best guess there will be a rollout in June with the "I Am" campaign. It could be, fingers crossed, she's made demands that TLC is not willing to meet. At some point they have to look at her cost per episode versus advertising dollars. I believe they will eventually air what's done but maybe no car for the twins!
I look at the Busby FB now and then. You can already see the greediness and self-importance taking over. The parents seem like an ordinary couple with their daughter Blayke, then the 5 quint girls arrived and the money and gifts and TLC came rolling in. God is still mentioned but time will tell how it all works out.
Jamesvader1194, or jamezvader1194....I wouldn't worry about it too much. There are a lot of names to keep straight.
At least you're using more or less the same name here. Sometimes people use one name on a blog with a certain viewpoint, and another name on a blog with a differing viewpoint. But then they don't keep them straight and end up using both on each blog. So confusing. At least you're pretty consistent.
TLC is promoting the heck out of the new Outdaughtered show. I think they are really hoping for it to become something big. Little People, Big World and Sister Wives are also being heavily advertised. And I saw that My Big Fat Fabulous Life is coming back in the summer. But not a peep about K+8. I wonder if they are realizing that there is nothing new and exciting to film with the Gs. They are stuck in a rut of vacations, birthday parties, and shopping. How long are they going to film the same thing over and over again?
I have noticed that the older shows keep stirring up the relationship drama to get ratings. Little People, Big World has been doing the divorce drama forever, and now Sister Wives is playing up the Meri cat fishing saga. One thing Kate can't bring is adult relationship drama. That is something that will always be missing, and there's nothing she can do about it.
Oh wow...I never paid attention to the Busby family. The parallels with Gosselins and TLC are amazing. Kate's head must be spinning. And they took her time slot! I wonder how many fans will abandon her to watch this new family? I vote yes. TLC, evil incarnate, knows a winning formula. Babies rule.
Layla, I agree. Stale and staler. While I do not agree with the Busby's filming the babies and young daughter, their Facebook is professional and they know how to use social media to promote themselves and products. The mother said in an interview that they had been working with TLC since before the babies were born. TLC is also tying in the premiere with Mother's Day so Kate did indeed get booted to the curb this year. And Layla, you are correct about the adult dynamic. People prefer to see a couple, like it was in the beginning with Jon and Kate co-parenting, rather than shows about Kate on a man hunt. I am cautiously optimistic this may be Kate's last rodeo with TLC. I do hope the Busby family does not implode and they don't get greedy and film for years and years.

Jamie and Deanna are poor surrogates for Jon or another love interest. There's no tension, other than Kate treating Jamie and Steve like "the help".

I absolutely agree TLC Stinks. In almost every good story whether it is a reality show or a fictional show, there needs to be tension and conflict. Jon and Kate Plus 8 had that and it was fairly successful. They lost it and has been pointed out this oft-manufactured new "conflict" with her kids or with her friends really isn't working in the same way. With the kids, I think it makes a lot of people uncomfortable seeing her go toe to toe with her own minor children. With the friends, it's like what's the real stake here? If she loses one girlfriend, there's others to take her place. Who cares? No one cares Ashley or Beth isn't around, from a casual viewer standpoint. It's really missing that "spark" it once had, as pitiful as it was.
Tucker's Mom (79)
It looks like TLC did bump K+8 in favor of the Busbys. They probably want to see how the ratings go so they can get busy on the next season and film more of the quints as they grow. Kate and her kids aren't going anywhere, and they aren't doing anything exciting, so no hurry there. The new multiples are their priority.
I'll tell you one thing...I saw a picture of Danielle Busby at 28 weeks when she delivered and Kate was a freakin' bus compared to Danielle. I doubt she needs a tummy tuck. She only gained 53 lbs. That's impressive with five babies.

@TLC stinks You know,IMHO i think Kate's show would have higher ratings if Kate had other family members on the show, like the grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. There would be more plots and the show would be more "entertaining".To bad for Kate that she decided to take the high road and made the show all about her.

AGREE.
Kate has cut off her nose to spite her face. Whatever really happened with Aunt Jodi, uncle Kevin, and various other people, those people brought some level of depth, context and variety to the family;s show. So too would have grandparents and other relatives added additional interesting layers. The ironic thing about Jodi's popularity is that had Kate just made peace with her and if she were still on the show today, the show might have done much better and EVERYONE benefits, makes more money, has a show that is not bumped back to second or third string when something shinier comes along, and on and on. Kate will never move past second string when she's in charge, she's not capable.
Just saw a bit of the latest Little People and their super fan/Milo/Goody episode.
Can you imagine Kate forced to invite all the Goodies and Milos of the world to her house and host them???? BAW HAHHAA. Oh please TLC, pretty please make her do this. Have any of the fans asked her if she would after seeing this episode?
So maybe TLC learned lessons from J+K? I read that immediate family have roles in the Busby show.

I've seen the commercials for Outdaughtered and I wondered how this affects Kate. Would people rather watch teens with attitude or cute babies? Would they rather watch "regular" people or a rich family taking trips? I feel sad for the new family because TLC will make their lives worse but I'd love to hear what Kate said to Steve when she heard about them.
I've seen the commercials for Outdaughtered and I wondered how this affects Kate.
********
You're not the only one, Jeanne. Kate's been wondering how any HOMs affect her. Remember that passage in her journal when she found out some couple had lost some embryos (or some such loss)? She came across as relieved. So, it stands to reason she's
not joyous about successful HOMs, especially when TV gets involved.
Jeanne (#92), if I could take a guess judging by a decade of TFW's bad behavior (which she willingly shared with the world for a paycheck), I suspect she is angry, jealous, bitter
Oops - hit publish before I was done!
I was saying if past behavior can predict future behavior, I'd bet TFW is livid about the new quints on TLC. SHE is the famous mom of multiples, and I can't imagine she's not feeling threatened by a new group of adorable babies and
a new pair of frazzled parents. That's her turf.
And as the years have gone by and it's been shown that TFW has no other discernible skill, I can see how it would disturb her to see the spotlight wane for her and brighten for another family.
I absolutely believe, now that I know about the Busby family, that this is a blow to Kate. It appears TLC has decided to fully invest in this family.
I do recall reading in her journal her relief that she was not going to have to compete with another family of HOM's when they miscarried.
LOL. Someone needs to tweet Kate and ask her if she's going to watch "Outdaughtered". Can anyone say "turf war"? Kate needs to get Steve to knock her up pronto.
Something in the Busby story said they had one
5-year-old and five 1-year-olds. And I remember when J&K said they had two 6-year-olds and six 2-year-olds. So even the verbiage is similar.
It's all about the benjamins for TLC. I'm sure they told TFW for years that they looooove her
and her family. And they're probably saying the same thing to the Busbys now.
Flimsy, Danielle Busby has tons of product endorsements, so it's all about $$ for them too. If you're going to go the fertility route, then make sure you can afford all those mouths in case there are multiples. It really irks me when these families jump on the reality show money bandwagon because they did not think through the financial burden of multiples. There is always a choice on how many kids you have whether you use fertility treatments or not.

I noticed that too...the similarities are striking, more so than the other multiples shows.Won't watch the show, though.Just looked at the FB.
TLC stinks (#99), and it sounds like yet another set of parents not only seduced by the money, but the attention. Meanwhile, they're foisting their children into the public eye without their permission. Another TLC social experiment.
Yet the sheeple still scream, "You'd do it,

Formerly Duped (#100), I won't be watching either.
Interesting that the TLC PR machine has touted the Busbys as replacing the Duggars. I've read some comments already online that the Busbys remind them of J+K rather than the Duggars. Although the Busbys are a southern Christian family like the Duggars, that is where the similarity ends. Jon and Kate equally professed their belief in God in the beginning too (and scammed the churches). And TLC has already aired the Duggar daughters show, which I perceived as a replacement for the original Duggar show. Since TLC claims to be substituting the Busbys for Duggars, they will show Kate in 2016. She must see where this is heading. She just cannot pull in the numbers Duggars did and Busby quints will draw not only the Duggar audience but Kate's audience. Clever of TLC to wait on Kate's new season just so she does not have to compete at the same time as the Busby premiere season. I bet most advertisers want in with the Busbys and not so much with Kate with all her baggage.
Does anyone follow the The Gardner Quad Squad? They were the quad family on Rattled. I got sucked into watching their vlogs on youtube. Cute babies, but over the last month or 2, they have become increasingly grafter like, begging for subscribers saying "it helps them", and do buy their minky blankets from their etsy store or they only have 3 high chairs and are hoping one of the babies followers will get them the 4th. It is shameful. Now they have started these live streams on facebook and just video the heck out of these girls. It isn't even interesting anymore. Pushing Baby Gap, a bigger home, free carseats, hoping TLC gives them their own show. I just don't understand how anyone would think this is a good way to raise your children. The Dad quit working to stay home a help raise the girls and running an etsy shop. Just wondered if anyone else keeps up with them.

"At first they didn't want us to have all five. They wanted us to reduce," Danielle said, "And our hearts just couldn't do that."

They say their faith has gotten them this far.

Hey everyone! The Quints are here. We have had many ups and downs over the past couple of days. We are in for a long road ahead. We will be going home at some point this week and will start getting things organized, so that we can be prepared to take them home. One big item that we are going to have to be looking for in the coming weeks is a van. We don't have a vehicle big enough to bring them home. We are looking at our options, but the Nissan NV passenger van and Ford Transit wagon are on the top of the list so far. They seem to be the right size and have some of the best safety features for our new arrivals.
God has already been working through so many of you in providing for us. We are truly grateful for everyone. It's pretty humbling knowing that we have gone down to one income, but having to purchase bigger vehicles and a much larger home in the near future.
The Gardner's are the ones bitter about the Busby's. The Busby's are more photogenic, their family is too. The Dad still works, and by and large the Busby's seem less shallow and more educated. Ashley sits around asking people if they like her new, free haircut?
TLC stinks@104...That is straight out of the Kate Gosselin playbook. We could probably write the script for the next several years ourselves.
I agree that Kate's show would be more popular if there were family and friends involved. It's just Kate and the kids, with Deanna popping up on occasion--and everyone knows Deanna is a paid employee. Kate thought it was all about her, but the fact is, people liked Kevin, Jodi, Beth, Bob, Nana Janet, etc. The kids' 3rd birthday party had a lot of people who had real history with the family. Then came the 4th birthday, and they decorated cupcakes alone. Everyone else had been banished. Now it's just a few nameless, faceless people milling around (and Kate hugely exaggerating the numbers) when they have get-togethers. It's also funny how Kate feels the need to say there were so many people present. Nobody has any story to them, it's the number that counts. Weird.
Well, idk... From the FB of the Busbys:'FINALLY we were able to take the babies to church for the first time today. It was definitely a success. They looked so cute in their KCMoccs moccasins and FlowerSack Dresses rompers! '
Is going to church about looking cute? And why would you wait to the last minute to acquire a vehicle or get rides to bring the babies home from the hospital? I think they kids are cute, but the parents don't strike me as educated or classy. I don't think they are bad people or parents, just swept up by the TLC ride...
Clever of TLC to wait on Kate's new season just so she does not have to compete at the same time as the Busby premiere season. I bet most advertisers want in with the Busbys and not so much with Kate with all her baggage.
&&&&
I wonder if part of Kate's long period of absense involved at least in part, some sulking. She MUST have known this was on the horizon, or at least had a general idea where their focus is. I bet she can barely take all the energy TLC throws at the Duggars and little people, it's got to drive her bonkers they're now focused on a family that actully has multiples and is much more similar to her family.
Admin (107), Not only do the Busbys have multiples and are similar to her family, they can offer things that she can't. An adult dynamic between the parents, family, friends, and cute babies. Kate has lost those things forever, and she can't get them back. Therefore, she will never be able to keep up with this new family. That must drive her nuts!
Admin (#107), I think you're right about TFW pouting. And I think 41 might've been a tough
birthday for her. She's bragged about de-aging, but time and gravity catches up with everyone eventually. And she's determined to continue
to make her livelihood in an industry which celebrates and rewards a youthful appearance, especially when it comes to women. So seeing
young, fresh faces on TLC, complete with
adorable infants and toddlers, probably stings.
Yeah its probably also really irritating TFW that TLC is airing the Outdaughtered show on May 10 - the sextuplets birthday!
I don't know,i just don't want to celebrate anything until TLC actually announces that they axed Kate and replaces her with this new show.Don't get me wrong when they brought her back i remember it having over 2 million views but nowadays its barely reaching a million and that's only if Kate has a lead in show like the little couple.I also did find it good that the tabloid recaps for the specials, had little to no comments and they were all negative.Minus the date episode but of course still did have a of negative as well.So if this new show does get higher viewers then Kate's episode that are coming soon(as Kate says).TLC may or may not kick her to the curb to replace her for this new show. But i just don't want to get my hopes up for nothing.
jamezvader, I don't have my hopes up either. She's been quiet so my antenna is up. She is definitely still in the mix for 2016. She certainly has been knocked off her white plastic chair throne, though, by the Busbys.
I don't know,i just don't want to celebrate anything until TLC actually announces that they axed Kate and replaces her with this new show
&&&&
I don't know that anyone's saying that. But it's very clear where TLC's energy is focused, and it's certainly not on Kate. They're focused both on their fresh faces as well as their tried and trued standbys. There's no question about that. She's second or third string these days and has been for awhile, and it seems like she's moving farther down the bench until pretty soon she only gets put in when the team is leading by 30 points. That's Kate about right now. They have to fill up all the hours somehow, and she may be filler for awhile, but their prime time budget is clearly being thrown at their starters.
I think Kate is straight stupid enough to wonder what the big deal is about the Busby's because they only have 6 kids total and she has 8. In her simplified mind that means she's obviously so much better.
Admin (#115), for her "I Am" speech, maybe TFW
should say, "I Am TLC's Bench Warmer." I think that's a demotion from side piece.
@Admin Well you're correct in saying that.If i remember Kate really wants to go to france on a trip but TLC never did that and may never will.Certainly if she was still queen of TLC she'd have trips like paris or even south Korea for episodes. But i think like TLC stinks said, there's no way TLC will foot for something that expensive for her.
Being the narcissist that she is, that is an interesting point that she would think she's better because she has "8" kids. Maybe she's not that concerned because she has been filming (said as much).
Amazing that Kenny and Bobbie McCaughey reared their 8 kids without a TV show. They were offered one, but declined. The had yearly updates and the kids are very good students and seem nice all the way around. They have always thanked everyone for all the help they were given and never denied they had a lot of help from volunteers. Kenny took a little bit of time off from work to help settle in to the new house and help with all those kids. He went back to work and has worked since. I admire that family for putting their children first. They said it was not a good way to rear children being on TV and no privacy for the family.
One more thing about the McCaugheys. Bobbi had her teeth fixed, which was a medical necessity and she was raked over the coals for it. Our sweet Katie has her body surgically made over, hair extensions, body guard, etc., and people stick up for her. I wonder how the Church Ladies feel about her.
Foxy (#120), yes, the McCaugheys are a living,
breathing example of a family who said no to a
reality TV show, and managed just fine. When
they see the train wrecks some of these reality
stars' lives have become, I bet they don't regret their decision one bit.
Agree about the McCaugheys and I love the sensible, closely-knit Dilley family, too.I think the reason they did yearly specials for a while might be so people would be satisfied with their curiosity and also to say 'thanks, the gifts were appreciated and here are the kids, happy and healthy with a little help from strangers.'
FlimseyFlamsey (122), I think even if everything had worked out brilliantly in every way for all the reality TV families, the McCaugheys would STILL not regret their decision to stay private. Ditto the Dilleys.

Becki Dilley had this thing she did for lunches where she had a snack station with various baskets filled with a wide variety of snack choices, from fruit to granola bars to crackers.
The kids would help pack their lunches and each get to pick a few snacks from the snack bins. It was such a cute idea. She may not have originally invented it, but it's all over pintirest now and much more popular now than when she was doing it. But it's more than cute and efficient, it gives kids a little bit of control and allows them to learn how to make choices for themselves. That helps a kid feel more grown up, which is good for them.
With smart parenting like that it doesn't surprise me they kept the kids' away from prying eyes other than a few sparse updates.
I wonder how the Church Ladies feel about her.

You wash them in the machine along with the delicates.
Their little bodies provide the agitation required. Then, you move it all over to the dryer, where the little mites fluff the clothes and then fold them.
Optionally, you can hang it all up to dry if you have
enough teeny tiny laundry clips for the mites.
I wonder if Kate made it to the Derby this year. It has been a couple of years now.....hmmmmmm.
Foxy (#130), your comment made me think of the
song by Florence and the Machine: The Dog Days
Are Over. And I think TFW's Derby Days are over.
The last picture of Kate at the Derby standing against a wall in the commoners section that was self published by her is sad. It must have been taken by Steve, no special invites to the festivities with the swag bags, nothing.
Still defending your hero Joe Paterno?
http://www.si.com/college-football/2016/05/05/penn-state-joe-paterno-jerry-sandusky-sex-abuse-1976
$$$
There is very little information about that accusation but ESPN was able to speak to a member of the staff at the time, Booker Brooks, who says that absolutely never happened. The Paterno attorney is also saying the claim is false. Both statements are conveniently left out of your link. Seems to me it's only fair to report both sides to have a fair discussion. Here's a more balanced article from ESPN:
http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/15472014/insurer-alleges-child-told-joe-paterno-jerry-sandusky-sex-abuse-1976
In other words, the answer is yes.
&&&&
I'm not sure what your point is. I read the Freeh report thoroughly and digested it, and have formed my own opinions about who I assign blame to. Some of it is to Paterno, a great deal of it is to many others, including the numerous witnesses who also saw something or heard something and did nothing or not enough. Paterno is not without blame, and died in disgrace, his name tarnished. Not sure what more you want with him, the man is dead, the death penalty has been served. I recommend you read the Freeh report, which concluded his firing was correct.
http://deadspin.com/5925386/here-is-the-official-report-of-louis-freehs-investigation-into-penn-state-discuss
I also assign blame, as did the Freeh report, to the general hush-hush culture that prevails when it comes to abuse, and was even worse in the 80's and 70's. The NCAA has done a good job addressing that and changing the culture on campus. The tragic thing about this is that anyone who wanted to say something thought that they couldn't just hold a press conference, say what they knew, and they wouldn't be considered a hero. And that's the CULTURE and that's what's scary.
I'm still wondering what happened to the outrage over the Duggars, who are allowed to be plastered all over our TVs without any consequences for all the covering up they did of abuse of their own siblings in their own home.

lol, Fido! I was looking for some things on eBay and I had to laugh, thinking about how the church ladies' auction descriptions would be written up! Now that would be some amusing entertainment.
Gosh, I miss Auntie. She could write up some hysterical auction parodies from the WV Women.
I wonder how long it took for the remaining sheeple to frantically flip through the channels last week, looking for that Kate Special. She didn't even have the courtesy to respond to them on Twitter.
All This Is That (#136), yes, wouldn't it have been kind of TFW to at least let her fans know
the air date was wrong, even if she didn't have the correct date yet? But she wasn't too busy

I did finally get the chance to watch Jon's interview on steve harvey and after that,i decided to look on youtube for it,just to see of he did gain some support from it(like some here claimed),but couldn't find it.I instead saw 3 videos from it and from the looks of all 3,it does seem like he did gain some support from it.Obviously if he did get overwhelming negative feedback(Like milo claimed),im certain all 3 videos would of had overwhelming dislikes. Here's the one which had the most views at 100,000 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZ8h5AUnvs4
Busbys moved into a bigger house so I guess that has got yo be an episode:
After looking over the course of the next week, we found two houses that would suit us. One was a little smaller than the other and quite a bit cheaper but the other one had ton of space to grow in. In negotiating with the two builders, we prayed that God would make the decision obvious and… that He did! What happened next was ….like a dream. God so graciously lifted up a special someone with Taylor Morrison and touched their heart with our story…and because of that…our AMAZING God made a way for us to purchase the bigger house!!!! The one with all the SPACE WE NEEDED!! We would never be able to afford a home like this…but this goes to show how MIGHTY our God is and we give all the praise to Him. He has been providing for us though this entire quintuplet journey… and this process was another HUGE example of Him working through others to provide.

Stop, just stop. Even as a Christian I am embarrassed for them. God does not give a flying fig about helping you choose between one house or the other. Sheesh.
They are living in a house they cannot afford, they admit it. Someone freebied it to them. But who is going to pay the utilities, upkeep and property taxes over the next several decades? Is it a small enough house they can keep up with the cleaning and maintenance themselves or will they have to hire someone at even more cost? Are they sure even if they have no mortgage they can afford all the other expenses that come with a big home?
They sound really dumb, head in the clouds dumb.
Also does it seem wise, after just having five babies at once, to start going through the long and stressful process of buying a new home. They already had a perfectly good home, it's not like they were stuck in a one bedroom apartment with six kids.
And, they sold their home without someone else lined up, adding to the pressure to find something.
Like I said, they sound really dumb.
McKenzie is their "Ashley" and Kathy sounds like their "Beth."

God give me this.
God give me that.
Disgusting. God apparently now is busy granting every wish of the Busbys. Well, unless Kate needs good weather for a party or something.
When the Busbys are done rubbing the Genie's bottle, maybe God can get back to important stuff, you know, like healing the sick and comforting the suffering.
Stop, just stop.
*******
Just makes me want to puke. The sad thing is, Evangelical types just eat this sh*t up.
Taylor Morrison is a building company so I guess they discounted the big house for them.
I do have to say Adam Busby has been employed by the same company since 2006 but will he stay? Will the lure of TV fame and money be too much? He and his wife seem like a nice couple, no dysfunction but the show has not aired yet.
I agree with the God will provide (praying for material things just goes against what I was taught).
So after the publicity of the births, they publicly express the need for a bigger house. And a big van. And baby stuff. Duh. They are following the Gosselin game plan, down to snagging TLC. Kate must be thinking, "How DARE they still my thunder and fame!" Well, they are and people, from Facebook comments, are excited for the show and love the family.
The new house is baller. Very upper-middle class. Kitchen is nice, and it sounds like it was built as they keep referencing a builder.
Her comment was at the old house they were literally stepping over babies. That's fine to think it, but saying that sounds out of touch and ungrateful. They seem to have no idea how many families live. Many large families "step over" kids for 20 years, and just deal with it because most people don't make enough money to afford a huge house.
She has a recommended product page. They use a lot of very EXPENSIVE baby products. Top of the line wipes, bottle and bottle makers, speciality shampoos, etc, times five. No plain old Johnson and Johnson for them. And there's nothing wrong with that. Use whatever products you like for your baby. But, they're also openly asking for freebies. Seems to me before you start begging most people with dignity would at least make an effort to show they are caring for the babies on a budget. I'm not giving a dime to parents who have a gourmet automatic bottle maker, but then I have sense.
It sounds to me that the house was a spec home on the market because they had three weeks to move from their old house. They certainly worked a deal (or with a little help from TLC, eh?) to manage such a quick move. You know you gotta keep to the production calendar. I am glad they found a nice, big house but God had nothing to do with it.
Whatever she is hawking on her product page, I bet they are advertisers on their show. Like I said... Savvy.
Whatever she is hawking on her product page, I bet they are advertisers on their show. Like I said... Savvy.
&&&&
Yes, and/or, when you click on the link and you buy the product or even view the product they get kickbacks. You can embed links with tracers that show that someone bought the product from their site, and the company gives them kickbacks. They also use Adsense on their web site, more revenue.
They are savvy and trying to make money off people. Not that there's anything wrong with that, if you provide content on the internet you have a right to try to make a profit from it like anyone else, but they play it off so innocently when they know darn well they're trying to make this a cottage industry. It actually didn't strike me much until just now just how similar the vibe is to the Gosselins when their kids were babies. There is something so very disingenuous about people who are trying SO hard to be genuine.
Omg! I just realized reading through here that it was the Busby family talking about the house...I thought they were old comments made by Kate when they bought their house .... They really do sound the same! Scary
The Busbys are getting freebies from well-meaning individuals as well as companies, big and small. Their social media accounts must take a lot of time to maintain, especially if the father works full-time. The mother IMO runs the show. They appear to have a fairly well-to-do lifestyle, with all the latest clothes, toys and equipment for the babies let alone their household. A new big house? Bring it on, God. Or does TLC have a hand in it?
PS The mom has NO stretch marks she claims, due to some product she is recommending lol. Too bad Kate and her jowls of a dog didn't use that.
Admin (#46), I think that's the thing that irks me the most: that these people insist they "need" a bigger space. No, they'd prefer a bigger space, and it surely would be more comfortable and manageable for their big family. But they don't need it.
Oh, I give Papa Busby 6 more months at his job of a decade. Better quit now, before he has to ask for extra time off for their Disney World trip, which is surely ahead. These people seem 10x
more savvy than J&K were, and probably negotiated themselves a pretty decent contract with TLC.
And what's with the CAPS? Does that show how much FAITH they have? And how super HUMBLE and GRATEFUL they are? Is it their version of TFW's
excessive EXCLAMATION POINTS? ACK!
Danielle has said she has help with the kids at home. This may allow her time to maintain those social media accounts or there is an assistant or relative that helps with the accounts. Regardless, what she produces is 1000% better than what Kate ever did.
Actually, looking at the FB Busby photos, the house and yard look pretty big. The kitchen looks great, and Princess Blayke has her own playroom as well as a cute bedroom of her own. The babies have plenty of space for their equipment and toys, and the fenced-in yard is large enough for lots of toys.
TLC stinks: I agree their social media is very good, but their priority should be the babies, not the publicizing of their every move on various internet platforms. It's a nice way to preserve those 'memories" but I believe they have ulterior materialistic motives. JMO. And didn't they move around Thanksgiving already??

Their new house or their old house? It was their old house that they complained they were "literally", another favorite word of Kate's, stepping on babies. I'd love to know the square footage of their terribly inadequate middle class house. They make it sound like a cat lady house. I'm sure it was totally adequate and appropriate for six kids and they could have made do just fine.
But like Flimsy said, they *want* more space. They don't "need" more space nor does God care.
Surely they have plenty of childcare, probably free. With dad working there's no way she could maintain all that social media presence and care for five babies and a preschooler. They are social media savvy even if I don't agree with what they say sometimes. This is exactly what I've been trying to explain about Kate. She should have the snazzy web site with regular updates (there's was updated just yesterday), nothing is coming soon there are no broken links, and it all links to everything else including twitter and instagram, all also regularly updated. This is just expected in 2016 for any successful business even if the product is selling your children. And, Kate couldn't even get the same exact name as her show (she adds a "my" to her handles), which is just silly and she never should have let that happen.
Kate's stupidity, laziness and lack of work ethic and persistence has made her product less superior and behind the times, and she has no one to blame but herself.

Oh, whaaaaaaa. The last thing Kate thinks is that she's a bad mother. She's just fishing for compliments like, "oh, no Kate, your such an amaaaaaaaaaaaaazing mother!!!!!!!!!"
I don't care how organic you feed your kids, you sell their privacy and make them work to support themselves and you in a lavish lifestyle, and you SUCK as a mother.
Their priority should be their babies. Like those people that clip coupons for 12 hours a day. Well yeah you got free groceries but what's the point, you didn't spend any time with your family.
I think Kate spent a great deal of time emailing when her children were young. For every freebie she got I bet 200 emails were sent out. That was the 2007 version of product placement on instagram.
Stop, just stop. Even as a Christian I am embarrassed for them. God does not give a flying fig about helping you choose between one house or the other. Sheesh.

I like your "waaaa." The people who say she is a bad mother have explained why very clearly and specifically, and a lot of it has to do with her decision to exploit her kids for ten years. That criticism is **very** different than people who hate transgenders, or little people, or obese people, for no good reason other than fear of differences.
Kate is the only person in this whole campaign whom people dislike because of what she DOES, not who she IS. Huge difference and it makes her stick out like a sore thumb in this campaign.

Something a priest said one Sunday homily really struck me and I never forgot it. He said that what's so beautiful about praying the Our Father every mass is that we are offering it up to God. We are praising Him with solicitation. Just prayer for prayer sake.
I find it positively blasphemous when these so called "Christians" beg for freebies in the name of our Lord.
They're users of God and His name, and they use God to guilt people into giving them sh*t for free and I'll bet dollars to donuts that they will NEVER repay what's been given them not one-fold, let along ten-fold as they really should.

That and in that same vein something like a God complex. It's like they feel like the fact that God anointed them with multiples means they are destined for an anointed path and prosperity so why wouldn't all these good things come their way? In a way it's very arrogant. They seem to have no shame about calling themselves special. Most people would be mortified.
I love how none of these people ever give any thanks to 50 years of infertility research and pediatrics that brought them to this point of five healthy babies at once. Props to the medical field for making all this possible; they did this, not God.

Actually, I find this to be one of the greatest tragedies and scams of organized religion, even though I have at times been a willing participant in organized religion.
And that is that many, many people, the Gosselins and Busbys being just some, have used it to manipulate and guilt trip others out of their hard earned money. It's such a racket. I bet if you removed all the financial benefits out of linking yourself up to a generous congregation, you'd see many people a lot less interested in going to church. I don't doubt Kate is one of those--as soon as the church well had gone dry, suddenly she never mentions God anymore.

Yes, exactly. Kate is a privileged, better-than-average-looking white woman who has no disability other than pure laziness. She has no social stigma, just a really really awful reputation because she's acted like a shrew and is probably the coldest maternal figure that I've ever seen.
What she's "whaaaaaing" about is about the CHOICES she's made, not some things she has no control over.
Tucker: Looks like they have a deckster unless it's someone else's in the photos. I also agree about Kate's blogs and most things she does ! Her advice about the POOL comes to mind: 'if you have one, swim in it!' Or 'if you have a LEATHER couch, don't let the kids sit on it! Make them sit on a strip of carpet.'
After vowing to "pay it forward," TFW accomplished the exact opposite, by taking donated items into the consignment shop and making a profit. The Busbys will have to work long and hard to top that kind of greed.
I wonder if the Busbys will try to have "just one more," and maybe shoot for a boy? That could buy them a few more seasons. Remember when TFW scolded Jon for referring to their lives in seasons?

And that's what I thought acceptance was all about not judging or criticizing others just because they were born different. Born with some kind of physical or mental abnormality, or have a different sexuality, etc.
I simply do not believe acceptance means you can't criticize other ideas and opinions, even criticize very passionately. That is what is being done to Kate. She is being criticized for HER choices and as part of the free speech foundation of this nation, the public has every right to do so including even to take action and make the laws more restrictive so she can't continue to do what she does.
There is value in criticizing someone who is exploiting children. That is part of the public discussion. There is no value in criticizing someone because they are unusually short or identity as male when they were born female.

They did move into their bigger home in time to have Xmas at their new pad.
Here's the thing. TLC has been involved with the family for quite a while. The babies were born April 8. 2015. Hogwash that they could not afford that bigger house. TLC has been filming them for a year. TLC made the announcement about Outdaughtered in August, 2015.
I watched the clip on TLC web page when Adam is talking about going back to work and Danielle snapped at him. Oh no.
Has anyone seen the show with the McGhees sextuplets? They don't seem to be getting much publicity.
I think a lot of Kate's original audience will switch to the Busby show, since they are the people who want to see cute babies and a family
dealing with life with multiples. (like me, originally, when I tuned in to J&K+8 ) I wanted to see a real family, like the Dilleys. So far, the Busbys, to me, already seem privileged and wealthier and running a little empire with a bit of HELP from God. I am also wiser and more cynical since my Gosselin experience and just won't tune in to see this.

'A year of fertility treatments resulted in a beautiful daughter they called Blayke, and, three years later, Danielle and Adam decided to take one more shot at expanding their family.
Embarking on the same fertility regiment that brought her little Blayke, Danielle became pregnant just two months later. And so began an adventure even the baby-loving Busbys could not have anticipated....
Danielle Busby: It’s such an extraordinary experience! What’s been captured with us is very real-time things and just true, normal, average people who have something extraordinary happen to them. I’m glad to share what God has done in our lives and how it has opened the door an opportunity to share His word and the gospel to others. Our TV show shows who we are, and our real life experience.' (She also calls one of the babies 'the big one' and Chunky Monkey)
SO much like Kate's story...
Hi, everyone. I haven't posted in awhile, but I still read here frequently. I just had to weigh in on the new house for the Busby family.
Actually, I hadn't heard of them until today when I was reading the posts here. What is it with these families thinking they need huge homes to raise children?
I grew up in a middle class town in a middle class home. We had 3 bedrooms, 1 bath, and an unfinished rec room for 5 kids, 2 parents, and my grandmother when she lived with us. Sure, sometimes it was crowded, but it that was life.
My best friend down the street had the same situation with 7 children and 2 parents. Our neighbor and good friend across the street had the same situation with 4 kids, 2 parents, and Auntie who always lived with them. My grandmother and grandfather raised 7 kids in a nice middle class home with 1 bath and a semi-finished rec room.
I just don't understand this whole issue that with x number of children, a large home with several bedrooms, playrooms, and multiple bathrooms are needed. People should live within their means and be grateful for what God HAS already provided for them and stop begging for more.
Okay, through venting now.

It's not, and in many cases, she may find the large home to be more trouble than it's worth. Her show is unlikely to last as long as Kate's, the gravy train will end and eventually the bills will be all theirs. It will be much more costly than a smaller home, and will take more time to maintain, which means less time with your family.
The children are all girls, there are an even six including the older child and can share two rooms between them, three to a room. Two bunk beds and a twin bed and that's nothing. That means they only need a three bedroom house, which is a normal sized single family home.
They can live in whichever home they like, but just like you I don't understand why this is framed like they NEED this space. They would like the space. Other people don't want that much space, it's a personal preference. The Tiny House show has featured several families with a number of kids. Not everyone feels huge houses are a need but somehow they have hoodwinked their followers into thinking so.
I agree admin, they are duping people into believing this is needed because of the number of children they have. However, back in the day (I know I'm showing my age now!), people with many children lived in average-sized middle class homes and survived. All that extra space, and costs, wasn't necessary.
After reading here, I went to the Busby page and couldn't believe what was the mother posted about things they use and needed. OMG, who does that? Who begs others to help support their families?
Hello, LoveMyGrandsons.
I agree with you. I grew up in a old family farm house. Two parents, what would be seven children and a Grandpa who lived with us for several years. ONE bathroom -- tiny at that. How did we do it? I don't know. We never thought it should be any different.
The house was large with 4 bedrooms upstairs. But, those rooms were not heated. We all "camped" downstairs during the long MidWest winters.
We were a devout Catholic family. I guess my parents never thought to pray for a home with a heated upper floor.
I totally agree that people should live within their means and large homes are not necessary. I am one of twelve, we had a 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom home. No rec room, but we did have a basement that was mostly for laundry with a wringer washing machine and the two sink tub sink. We all did just fine. The bedrooms were crowded I guess with single beds and a couple sets of bunk beds in each room. We had 1 car in the family and I remember when there were 10 of us and we all piled in to that Buick and went from Washington State to Nebraska to visit relatives. Good times believe it or not.
Hi, Dmasy. I know what you mean. We never thought that there was a problem with our house. It's how everyone lived in my family, and also our friends from school. It's funny because when I started high school, it was in what was considered the upper class section of town. Although the homes were a bit bigger with a bit larger rooms, they were mostly the same except for one thing: they had 2 bathrooms!
I remember going to my friend Sheila's home after school and couldn't believe that there were 2 bathrooms and 4 bedrooms. However, to put it all in context, it was a bigger home, but Sheila was the youngest of 11 children. And they did fine, without 22 acres, crooked houses, 3-4 annual trips, etc.
Isn't it amazing how people can make do? LOL!
The Buzzies are consumers of the Big mac culture that hit its stride in the 90's and 2000's.
What's really neat to see is that now several years later people are realizing that boom actually ended up screwing a lot of people over in the end, and that at the end of the day it didn't make anyone all that much happier. For many, it caused more problems than it solved.
I love hearing about the Tiny House movement and frugal stuff like that. We've come full circle and living a more modest life has emerged as a very healthy option.
Shoot, I hit post too soon.
foxy, I know what you mean. Pat of our unfinished rec room included the laundry area that those 2 big metal sinks in them. I also remember all of us piling into our Buick to go on vacation. It was cramped, but do-able. I will admit though, that it was definitely more comfortable to travel when we got the station wagon. Remember those with the fake wood panels on the sides??
Admin, in my area you see a lot of those big houses being built that go from one end of the lot to the other. I was in about 3 of these homes because my daughter was friends with their children.
What I noticed most is that the living room in almost every home was empty. Their furniture was put in the extra large family room that was in the rec room. Also, there were echoes because the space was so big with little furniture or wall hangings. What really struck me as strange is that the parents bought this home so the kids had room. However, there was no backyard to put a swingset or pool or anything, because the house took up most of the property. Also, Bonnie's friends that lived in these homes were only 1 of 2 or 3 siblings, so a 4 or 5 bedroom home wasn't really necessary, to my way of thinking.
When Bonnie would come home from IA to visit and see those friends, she would tell me the same thing: the family moved and they are now in a condo or a little ranch house. They couldn't stay in those homes more than 5-10years. All the money that wasted to live a lifestyle that they couldn't really afford.

I'm trying to figure out what hamburgers have to do with anything!!
Read it again and got it.
OMG, too funny.
Odd that TLC would use the phrase "I am" to head their campaign. "I am" is the motto of the Invictus Games for wounded soldiers/warriors commencing Sunday in Orlando.

We had 1 bath growing up, but many years later, my dad built a half bath...in the garage! Man, that toilet seat could get so cold!
We were a family of 4, so plenty of room and I had my own bedroom in our 3 BR ranch.
Our house, while very modest by today's standards, was like South Fork compared to most of my schoolmate's homes.
Most lived in twins with little to no yard.
Big families, too, and no one was holding their hand out for freebies. Shoot, people had pride back then and would rather budget, mend clothes and hand down everything than take something they didn't earn.
I am fascinated with the tiny house movement. One thing I do not like are the loft bedrooms with the ladder. That is an accident waiting to happen for me, but I love the idea of living small.
Tucker's Mom, I know exactly what you mean. There was the matter of pride and self-respect to raise your own family that somehow, doesn't exist with some HOM families. It's like they expect people to contribute to the choice THEY made.
However, there were many families with HOM's that chose not to be on TV, raised them in modest homes, and didn't beg for handouts. There was an article on line about them years ago and it showed that many of them lived in what Kate and the Busby's would consider "cramped" housing. But they made it work and the kids grew up without having to support their family's lifestyle by being on TV.

Agree. It's dangerous for pets and small children, and really everyone in case you slip, especially when tired and it's dark and you're up to use the restroom. It would also be a terrible problem if you ever hurt yourself and can't climb ladders.
I've seen some that have a narrow staircase and are completely sectioned off. That's safer. Some people also request tiny houses without lofts, which they do have. There are other ways to hide the bed like in the coach.
Best guess Kate will resume her 10 pm Tuesday slot after the Busbys finish their seven episodes. I love that people will be able to compare one show to the other. Fans will judge.
Tiny houses are a solution for high cost areas like Silicon Valley.
Also, if the G kids do move out at 16 like Leah stated, lol, there's Kate left with a huge house in the country, sort of customized for her family that will be hard to sell, I would think, with the bedroom arrangement etc.Maybe I'm wrong, but many people downsize when the kids are grown and the upkeep and cleaning etc become too much and the rooms become unused & bills too high in retirement.I also don't know how many young families can afford to buy these huge homes. In my area, people have added huge extensions and now the kids are grown and a lot of neighbors are relocating.

There are big families out there who nope, would't do it if offered. Kate acts like anyone would jump at the money and fame, and waggle her Frenched finger as if it's the gospel truth.
But, it's not.
"After the birth of their 12th son in 2013, TLC offered the Schwandts a reality show. Jay and Kateri sat down to discuss the prospect with their older sons one autumn evening before supper, hashing out the pros and cons.
“I was never intrigued,” Ty said. “I liked the attention, but I never loved the attention, and it almost lasted a little too long for me. I’d rather live a simple, happy life. You see ‘Kate Plus 8’ and the Duggars and all those other shows. They make a good run and then, in the end, they come crashing down. It wasn’t worth trying to be the exception.”
Yeah, like the Busbys think they're the exception, but the pressure, fame and money will take its toll, and their odds of divorcing are much, much higher now.
"The money TLC offered didn’t justify the cost it would come at, Ty felt.
Surely the camera crew would’ve gravitated toward the handsome firstborn, turning his engagement into a major storyline and reducing the wedding sacrament to a heavily marketed special episode.
No thanks, says Ty. “We want our wedding to be intimate. I’m glad we’re able to keep this in the family.”
Just reading the online comments strangers have written about his family is enough to make his stomach turn. Saying no to reality TV, as he sees it, is a yes to privacy, serenity and family. He has total confidence — and a measure of relief — in their decision to decline.
“I’m very thankful for it because I don’t know how well I’d be able to take it. My biggest concern would be all of the little boys. They would grow up in front of cameras. I feel like they would never become who they really are.”
And that's exactly it. Cameras alter people and their behavior. Who would the Gosselin kids be if they never had cameras in their faces and booms over their heads?
We'll never know.

I read an article about one guy who lives in a wooden box in the living area of an apartment! It's so bad that he thinks there's nothing wrong or weird about it.
I think he pays around $450 for the privilege of living in a box.
People out there are so brainwashed that they will live in worse conditions than a third-world country.
