Jeremy and Zach recently changed their tune about filming when they started to a paycheck. Neither son has a fulltime job. Reality tv money got very attractive when they became married. I don't think the Roloff's are any different then the Gosselin's. Matt and Amy just chose to film the divorce.
Reality tv pays well and the trips are a draw.

Kate Plus Eight was cancelled a few years ago. Did TLC ever make the official announcement that it was being reinstated/resurrected, or did they just kind of sneak that in somewhere and not mention that they were bringing it back? Exactly what is the official status of the show, if there is one, and how did she manage to wiggle more filming out of them after its cancellation? She's in bed with someone there, maybe not literally, but at least figuratively. I wonder what she's holding over their heads.

With all of the hullaballoo about the kids' college funding, and OMG!! how are Jon and Kate going to pay for that?!, I'm betting some kids will choose what they know, which is easy money on reality tv to milk it as long as they can. College schmollege.

I don't begrudge Zack and Jeremy from filming now. They are adults and can decide. They acknowledge there were a lot of down sides to filming when they were kids, and were especially embarrassed by the crew coming to school, pointing out that their friends acted different with cameras there.
I think though they both recognize that while there were some negative things about filming them as kids, it got them to where they are now living a very comfortable lifestyle on salaries that wouldn't normally be able to support it. Zack is a soccer coach Tori a teacher and Jeremy and Audrey run a web site. I think they're mature enough to realize you can't have it both ways. If you hated the filming and think it was damaging, then stop filming, like Jacob has done. Or the filming wasn't so bad and you'll continue it in adulthood. You can't say the Roloff kids are hypocrites.
I also think this is a good example of how no child is the same and filming affects children differently. Some do okay with it, others are very disturbed by it, like Jacob.

Thanks Tuckers, that confirms to me I was supposed to tell my story. I often get embarrassed thinking maybe I'm just being ridiculous. Most of all, it adds purpose to why my choices and happenings took me down a path I tried to avoid so hard. When we refuse to walk the easy path/lessons, there's nothing left but the hard/painful.

I disagree with your comment about Jon humiliating C. From my person experience with a parental alienator, it would not be at all necessary for the alienated parent to personally do something to the child. The alienator instills the fear of rejection or humiliation, and that's all it takes. Fear takes over, then resentment. I can't imagine Jon humiliating his son. I don't think he would have hurt any of them like that.

We've seen him do it on TV and as has already been said he has a tendency to speak without thinking and lash out in anger and frustration. Combine this with a parental alienator and it creates a perfect storm.
My heart goes out to these kids. She will continue to parade them around, make them earn their keep, put them on display as long as there are unscrupulous networks who only care about the money, whatever meager amount she can bring them. They are her meal ticket, and as long as there is a Milo, or a Denise or a Carlene to hop on the bandwagon and support this exploitation, she will continue to do so. It is just so sad that there is still a viewing audience who needs to be entertained in such this way. You can bang your head on the wall, trying to figure out what it is that captures the attention of these sheeple and what kind of a need/void this fills in their lives.

What parent\person doesn't hurt? To think we won't hurt in our life just isn't realistic. That's how growth, knowledge, wisdom etc. comes about. What couple doesn't fight? What sibs. don't fight. It's how we handle it after and how we have been taught, which the g kids never were, that makes the difference and brings healing. Sadly, figuring it out for yourself and parental alienation looks to me like it has caused C to internalize the best way to make mom happy is to hate dad. The best way to hate dad with the least amount of guilt is to take personal/hurtful things dad did and use them until they become his (C's) full, unjustifiable truth. SO SAD!

There will be no excuses. She will ignore it. You have to realize that when someone is so far into Celebrity Worship, that person can't look at a situation with any critical thinking. Those rose-colored glasses cloud everything. Milo is not a normal person. Kate is perfect. Kate has thousands of legitimate (not paid) followers) because she's so loved and has so many fans. You can't reason with anyone like Milo. Her mind is closed to anything that would cast a negative on Kate, and so you don't bother. Ignorance is bliss, Milo is giddy with excitement, and will continue to be so. If Kate were to be arrested on a DUI charge, Milo wouldn't believe it, no matter if proof would be shown to her. In Milo's little fantasy world, Kate does no wrong. You almost have to feel sorry for someone like that. I can't imagine that little world of delusion is a very happy place. It must be lonely in there. Milo is love sick, and there is no known antidote.
Reserved, sensitive, insecure children are especially susceptible to parental alienation. And kids with special needs.

Exactly! I was so shocked how she was talking to him about the gift and kept on and on. I really believe she really enjoys torturing him specifically. I could just see her standing there (figuratively) with a knife cutting him up into little pieces with those words. Those words cut him like a knife! She loved it!

OMG. So when you buy a bunch of followers from some third party from a third world country, a lot are sure to be fake or spam. Instagram will do purges of those accounts every so often, and sounds like one happened last night. I get spammed with offers to buy followers every so often, it's obnoxious.

Jon was overwhelming patient and gentle with his children. Once in a blue moon he got frustrated as any parent would.
The fans try to use this argument with Kate, that all parents do what she does sometimes. The problem is her outbursts are not occasional, rare, out of the norm. They are her regularly scheduled programming with her children. With eight kids of course a parent is going to lose their patience sometimes. I don't think anyone expects perfection of either of them. It's a matter of the degree and the frequency.
Question, since I don't have Twitter. Kate claims to have the "haters" blocked, which I believe. Why, then, are some of them on there regularly, every day, night, tweeting to her (mostly the same thing over and over again) when she can't see what they are saying? Wouldn't this be kind of futile, a waste of their time?

Admin (#27), to me, Jon's overall demeanor as a parent was loving and caring. He enjoyed his kids. TFW tolerates them (sometimes barely), and takes any opportunity to criticize them, making herself seem put upon by their very existence.

I think when Jon got frustrated and broke the stick during the walk in the woods is not because of the kids, it was because of Kate.
I really don't want to go and watch that episode and find out why Kate was the cause. She put so much stress and pressure on Jon and on the kids. Perfect example is when Jon and the boys went golfing. The boys were all in the golf cart and upset because they didn't want to get dirty. Jon said, Don't worry about it, they can be washed. Then he either said, She's crazy or she's nuts.
She has controlled every move he made, every dollar she gave him and would implode when he would not ask her constantly, What can I do to help you?
Now, she has successfully done this to the children for years and really successfully to one girl and very successfully with one boy.
So, when there is a loss of followers on Instagram, does this mean that Instagram is purging the fake accounts?

IIRC, when Jon made fun of his kids on the show, it was going along with Kate- such as teasing the way Joel spoke, Mady's teeth, Cara being 'homely', and also endorsing Kate's punishments for the most part. I think he was under her iron fist then himself.He mainly showed them love and affection and actually interacted with them.as for what he is doing now, maybe some remnants of 'fear' of Kate fro himself or the children remain, idk.

They were just toddlers then, so imagine the effect of many more years of that sort of influence on those children's souls.
GollyGee - I don't think it's Instagram purging accounts but rather people signing on to their account and saying "why the hell am I following her?". I think some Instagram accounts that are sold belong to actual people that may not post very often and just use it to check things. That's how mine used to be until I got the puppy and I once found myself go following someone and I hadn't a clue how it happened. TFW needs to learn that puppies getting in trouble are much more fun than puppies sleeping on her bed.

I'm not sure people selling Instagram followers can get into real accounts and the have them follow people. That would be hacking. What is likely though is that they have account farms overseas full of fake ones. The Instagram bots go through every so often and purge what they recognize as fake. That explains why the sudden 1000 drop overnight.
Tucker's Mom (#40), speaking of moms welling up...yesterday on Valerie Bertinelli's cooking show, she talked about their son Wolfie performing with his father Eddie Van Halen at the Hollywood Bowl together, and got choked up. She said she had been waiting for 35 years to see her ex-husband play there, and "he finally plays the Hollywood Bowl with his son." I was touched that she said "his" son -- not "my" son, or even "our" son. And how lucky for that child, who is now a man, to have parents who put their son's welfare ahead of whatever struggles they had between them.
I know little about parental alienation beyond what I've read and what has been said here but wouldn't a big part of trying to combat it by the parent being alienated be making sure to stay in that child's life? I could be wrong but otherwise it sounds like you're just letting the PA have a free field to warp the child and hurt or kill your relationship.
My parents divorced when I was 5 and while neither had much good to say about the other they always made sure I had full access to each. I lived with my mom and she was always making sure I told my dad about my life even when I wasn't with him or didn't want to as did my dad when I spent time with him in the summer or holiday time. On top of that my dad always made sure to let me know that he wanted to be with me, he cared what I was doing when I wasn't with him. That meant a lot because he remarried and it was all to easy to think that he was too busy and involved with his new life to think about me when I wasn't physically with him. If he had consistently just let me stay away from him, which I wanted to do sometimes, I would have been sure he didn't care.

I know someone who's ex-husband left a great job in manufacturing, a well-known product who threw it away and left the state. 15 years later, HIS SON now has the same job as his father did.
The son made a picture of the product and said that he was mailing the product to his dad.
Talk about ironic and payback.
An unselfish parent understands that a relationship with a partner is very different than the relationship between a child and their parent. You are divorcing your partner for the reasons you have. But your child is not divorcing their parent, and it's wrong to make them a party to the action.

I don't think anyone is saying this is okay. I think everyone acknowledges the Roloffs should not have filmed their children, look what it did to Jacob. But I'm not willing to go as far as to tell a 26 year old man he should not be on a reality show. That's his decision, regardless of how he got there. I will feel the same about the Gosselins when they are their age. They can decide for themselves.

My comment is regarding Admin's great point about the filming of children - the Gosselin kids have evolved to think that a film crew is just a normal part of their life…… Just like you and I grew up thinking that seeing our cousins, visiting our aunts, uncles and grandparents on Sunday was normal…..These kids may have filming in their future just because they grew up with it and consider it as part of their everyday life. Sad.

And actually, I would. If Mady is Jeremy's age and wants to film, whatever, fine. She will be an adult, with an adult brain, with an adult's ability to consent, with the ability to understand the pros and cons.
It's rather irrelevant to me what she grew up with. That's all very unfortunate, but once the children become adults there's nothing more to protect. What's done is done. Extending our outrage to ADULTS who choose to film weakens the argument and puts our credibility into question. I think it's more prudent to focus on who is a child NOW and who needs protection now, and cut our losses as children become adults.

The former D.A. is about to take Constand's deposition, and Cosby has filed legal docs asking for a seat at the table. He wants his lawyer to watch the blow-by-blow.

The church ladies are not related by blood. It is the culture to call each other sis in a lot of small towns in the south. I'm not on the fence. I think this is the way those people live. This is their life. Yes, some of it may be done in jest, such as the cloggers photo, and perhaps even the sex toy thing, but all in all, I think that this is what they are, rednecks who can't spell, talk the way that they tweet, and truly do believe that Ted Cruz and Tom Cruz are the same person.

I think it's quite strange the way she has taught these kids to show their love and affection for her. Many of the things they do for her are more appropriate to a relationship between a married man and woman. They can often be found servicing her in some form. I think she uses them to replace what a husband would normally do, and that is just not healthy. A child should not feel burdened to fill that role.

You know speaking of Bill Cosby that's actually a good example of why it's important she as their mother help the children develop appropriate boundaries, and not make them feel like they need to show her affection in a form more commonly reserved for a lover. EVEN if it's all innocent.

I don't think it's a sexual perversion. Many families are touchy-feely and do hug, rub and massage. The thing is, I think I've seen enough footage of Kate and her kids to say that she is NOT that way towards them. She is the polar opposite, with rare hugging that seems forced, and not joyful and spontaneous.

True, and here's my two cents. I think much of it has to do with her own insecurity. She needs to show the world that she's a great parent, even if she does't necessarily believe it herself, but the public needs to know this in order to prove the negatives about her in the media and how she comes across on the shows are all wrong.
One way to do this is to show the kids doting on her, rubbing her, showing affection, and then she can say, hey, the kids love me, everything I do is for them, and they, in turn show their love and affection for me. She knows that the sheep will jump on it and tell her how wonderful *she* is.

Right, agree. It's far more disturbing the emotional burden she is placing on them. The sexual boundaries she is creating confusion about is just another concerning component of it. And I'm not talking about with HER, I'm talking about with others. It could be anything she has them do for her emotionally. It's not their burden to bear. They are parentified. She uses them to fulfill her emotional needs. If they didn't want to do it or felt uncomfortable about it, they would still feel pressure to act like they liked it. They have no choice in this. That's very wrong. A parent is here to fulfill their child's emotional needs, not the other way around.

On another note, what about an all-day photo shoot, I'm assuming promotional in some capacity, was educational, enriching, fulfilling to her and these kids? I can think of a million other things kids could be doing with the waning days of summer.

When it comes to Gladys, I do believe that her love for Kate is both emotional and physical. My mind's not in the gutter. Gladys has been obsessed with Kate's body, her baths, her physique way too much for it *not* to be a sexual attraction. Given the chance, she would bed her in a New York minute.
It's not what I would label sexual abuse, but it's still wrong. Who is in charge? Who takes on the burdens in the family? To me it's an indication that she puts more on them than we know. How do they learn to be good adults? There's no learning process. And every child who grows up without love is damaged.

She could have gone right to her pedicure place and they would have done it for the cost of a pedicure. Kate claimed just a few IG photos ago that her posting of kids' photos were waiting on their "approval." Does she honestly think that anyone believes her after she posted the foot-rubbing picture? I cannot believe those two girls (or any 12+ year-old) would approve public posting of that (private FB, maybe). Which calls into question the whole "seeking kids' approval" part of her story. But who would be surprised at another humongous lie at this point? Bottom line, she LIES for a living. And that's really all you need to know about her.
A mother massaging her baby is one thing, but a 12 year old massaging her mother's feet is just plain yucky, and in my opinion, crosses a boundary. It just strikes me as something a spouse or boyfriend would do. Did she guilt those girls into the massage? No doubt. Why in the world does she think posting that photo was ok? Embarrassing. Now that I look more closely at the FB page, these photos were done weeks ago, not yesterday. TLC has been running a banner with a different shot but all of them in the same clothes for at least several weeks. Either TLC did another shoot or People's putting her in the mag again (I don't recall the last time any other mag has set up a "shoot" to run an article about her).

That looks like the kind of photo you take when you're testing the lighting and aren't bothering to tell people what to do. I haven't any idea why they chose this one. If they were going for a more "candid" not posed look at the very least make sure no one is covering up anyone else and that you can see everyone's face.
This almost looks like a screw up, like they meant to send them photo 112 and instead sent them 121.

It IS an intimate activity between sexual partners, or you can pay a profession to do it as part of trained healing/therapy. Those are your two options. Anything else is creepy.
The fact that your gyno touches you as part of medical treatment doesn't mean that in any other context that isn't normally an activity between consensual adults. Of course there are exceptions to what is normally meant for two partners when it is part of a trained professional assisting you, but those exceptions are narrow, limited.
Again, you're not going to convince me it's appropriate to put such a burden on your children.

I highly doubt that that photo was from the photo shoot that Kate mentioned on her Instagram. They are wearing the same clothes that they wore in the "I Am" promotional video. There are other pictures on the Kate plus 8 FB page from June where they are wearing the same clothes, plus the promo picture for the block party had them wearing the same outfits also.

The article has an update that states that the campaign was pushed back to this summer. The article originally contained the promo video(we discussed it here at the time) but apparently removed it due to the push back by TLC.

So most likely all of those photos are from a photo shoot that was done during the filming of the promos for the "I am" campaign which was announced in March. I highly doubt they would do a new photo shoot and wear the exact same outfits that they did back in February or March, whenever that promo was filmed.

Kate says their show is returning in October and not a mention of it anywhere, especially by TLC.
The photo referred to by jamezvader above was not shot this week. The banner on the Kate TLC FB page has had a different photo (but very similar) for several weeks, with everyone in the exact same outfits. So assuming this wasn't another TLC shoot, I am thinking this is probably for People. After all, that's the only rag-mag that still bothers with Gosselin shoots anymore. Everyone else just prints stock photos.

The Busby's show aired in Kate's old time slot--Tuesdays at 10pm. I wonder if they'll be switched to the 9pm slot with Kate plus 8 following, which would mean that Kate's show would actually air in November instead of October.
Of course, that's all speculation on my part, but last year Kate said the show would air Thanksgiving week,(again before TLC made the official announcement) but it didn't actually air until almost 2 weeks later.
Guess we'll have to wait and see.
