Not a terribly auspicious start for the Duggars' Counting On. Viewers were 1.259mm, 0.44 share, 23rd-ranked show. This is the THIRD "season" of this show that is airing in less than a year. The share number (25-54 demo), though, is better than ANY share numbers on K8's show this past season. Nevertheless, I think TLC is oversaturating the market with Duggars, and I think this will backfire on them.
Kate's Fetid Soul (#2), I have a friend whose mother used to hit her and her siblings when they were kids. When one of her brothers got married and had children of his own, he said his mother, "Lay one finger on my kids and I'll kill you." He didn't mean it literally, but he made his point. And the woman actually did turn out to be a wonderful grandmother, and seemed to have
repented for her bad behavior in her family's eyes.
Wow, Flimsy, that is wow. So glad that the mother redeemed herself and so glad that one of the sons stood up to his abuser and took the control away from her.
IMO, Jon's lawyer should be able to convince a judge that anything that Jon gives the kids, gifts, money, whatever that they can take it home with them without fear.
If she bucks up about it, let her get into contempt of court. All of this chaos is nothing short of bullying.
And he should be able to stop this s*** about them having to put their school clothes on to come home in. My goodness! If their peers find out about that, they will horribly tease them. I have never heard of anything like that in my life.

I think these unreality shows spin a wheel to decide the next story line ...Pregnancy, Gay, Vow Renewal, Divorce, Post-Divorce Dating, Vacation, Clothing/Cosmetic Line...jeez, not an original idea in the bunch.

Not allowing any intermingling of their belongings is all part of Kate creating that separation between her and Jon. The kids aren't allowed to just flow back and forth with whatever they please of their possessions, she instead creates dad stuff and mom stuff. It's also a way for her to position herself to have better stuff at her house. If they have a cotton sweater at dad's, they'll get cashmere at mom's. She's so blatantly conniving.
It's very disrespectful to the children, too, who may want to take a special or much-liked item back and forth as they feel like it. They will rebel against this exercise of control.
You know what? For the first time it occurred to me that some of the children may not visit because it's just TOO MUCH TROUBLE. It's not worth causing Kate all the stress, the his and hers items nonsense. Better to just lay low and not stir the pot. These kids may be smarter than I gave them credit.
Jon said this ages ago, that he has his stuff for the kids and Kate has hers. So that rings true.
Has anyone ever asked Doofus Gladys exactly why LOM turns out the lights at exactly 11 p.m., not a minute before or after? Does he tell her to go to bed? Does he go to bed? Do they sleep together?She's nosy about Kate's daily routine, so someone should ask her what SHE does after 11 p.m. and if LOM still brings her manila ice cream. At some point the kids won't let Kate pat them down and go through their stuff. One of them will say "Don't touch me." But Jon has to go along with the clothes thing. If he lets them wear an outfit home that he bought, she'll just throw it out. And Colin and Alexis could never go. You're not allowed to take medicine to school for the day. So they'd be without medicine all weekend.
Just to be annoying, some of you are confusing My Big Fat Fabulous Life and My 600 lb Life. Everyone on 600 lb weighs 600 lb or more. The woman on big fat life weighs around 300 lb I think. Not sure exactly. She is still able to walk around and participate in life. A pregnancy scare is a stupid storyline but easy. A scare just means you're late. I used to be late all the time. It's so easy to lie about, too, to get a storyline.
The information about Hannah came from a police report, so if the sheeple are going to go there claiming it's a lie, then they're calling the police liars. I wouldn't say that unless you know that to be true, that's a very serious accusation one should not just throw around, despite how unfairly blasted the police have been lately. Kate said it, the police reported it as is their duty, time to accept the depths of her psychosis.

The breeder (no reputable breeder would do this) sent Shoka back to his abuser. Watch the dogs episode. The breeder keeps the dogs outside which is a huge no no.

Wow, is this true about the meds? Couldn't they just give it to the school nurse and pick it up at the end of the day when Jon picks them up? Or maybe that's too much information for the school to have. If this is true, that could very well be part of the reason those two never visit him.

It's been awhile since I had an epiphany about this mess but I had one tonight.
Look at the four kids who don't visit. Collin, Alexis, Cara, and Mady.
Mady is comfortable in her own skin and I think she's just alienated against Jon.
But Collin and Alexis are the most picked on tups. Both are constantly ganged up on by the others. And Cara is very checked out, from her sabotaging of the Today Show appearance a few years ago to picking lint on the interview coach in recent months.
The three of them I perceive to be the "less than" ones, the ones the other kids and to some extent Kate have pegged below them.
The most beaten down kids are likely to be the kids who don't want the aggravation of pushing Kate's buttons. It's just EASIER not to visit Jon.
Admin (#21), I do think you're on to something. I once said how hard it must be for the kids to have a wonderful time with their father, and then come home knowing they can't even share that with their mother. That would automatically take some of the joy out of the experience -- having it tinged with the anticipation of stress afterwards. And knowing your mother is, well, PISSED that you had fun with your dad. Might just be easier to stay the heck home.

Huh? I'm not confusing the two shows and even if I was, I would not do it just to be annoying. I actually watch & like My 600-lb Life. My point about Big Fat Fab Life is that Whitney claims to have PCOS & has blamed it for her weight (nearly 400lbs by the way). PCOS usually means fertility treatments to get pregnant. Which makes me think the pregnancy scare is just a ratings grab. Unless of course she's taking fertility drugs trying to have just one baby and ends up with multiples...
I also noticed when Kate had her freak out about her missing cart with her purse (staged), they exited the store and the camera only focused on the twins with their cart. I guess we were to think there was only ONE cart

Whitney Thore weighs 385 pounds. That is what she weighed when she had the personal trainer who dismissed her for not taking her health seriously. You can only blame PCOS for a short time for weight gain. Many women have/had that condition, me included. I did not gain a ton of weight.
TFW has a new IG picture of Mac up in the house on guard duty (or some such nonsense). Judging by the reflection in the window it takes 4 kids to keep his attention so that he'll "pose" for the picture. I guess the dogs aren't as "picture ready" as TFW would have us believe.
I wonder if TLC has anything to do with the slow drip-drip of negative K8 stories. Just more ammo if they're telling her she's cancelled. Not that I think they have to say anything to her at all, all of these reality people are "at will" employees.

They're independent contractors who sign a contract spelling out exactly the length of the contract, their pay, any perks, and of course that dreaded paragraph that says they may be cancelled at any time. If there are any future legal entanglements for TFW, she would sell TLC out in a HEARTBEAT. I thought about that when she recently thanked them for a wonderful 10 years, or whatever she tweeted. The twins got phones at age 10 or thereabouts, so my guess is that K8's intention there was to keep tabs on what they and Dad were up to. The infamous tape of the kids returning home and wailing was August 2010. So the animosity level was definitely high. Remember, too, that one of Jon's complaints in his petition for custody was that K8 called the girls endlessly when they were with him. The only reason those two got phones was to increase K8's control when the kids were out of her jurisdiction.

Now there's a surefire way to guarantee a long run on TLC.
Outdaughtered's "finale" of two hours (9-11 p.m. on Tuesday) got 1.344MM viewers and a 0.48 share (which, BTW, beat out the Duggar season premiere episode's numbers). The lead-in at 8 p.m., where LPBW had been, was a rerun of one of the OD episodes, which got 719K viewers. Clearly, people ARE tuning in to watch this program.
So congratulations, Busby family, the fix is in, and YOU are now officially the new Golden Multiples Family on TLC. I hope you survive it.
Regarding TLC. I was getting super irritated the other night when "Outdaughtered" was on. They showed that Big Fat Fabulous Life commercial A LOT. And in the commercial, the girl says "The thought of being pregnant scares the $hit out of me." The bad word is bleeped but my 11 year old is sitting there watching. I mean, c'mon! Don't they realize there are younger children watching? I know they don't care...they probably feel if they desensitize them young enough, they'll have future viewers. I'm not a prude and yes my child has heard cuss words before but we don't all just sit around and cuss repeatedly for no reason. I'm seriously about done with this channel on real time. I can record shows I like or watch on tlcgo and not have to deal with the language.

You can hear cursing on network TV now and they don't bother to bleep it in some cases and there is always a lot of cursing on cable channel shows. TLC is a cable channel and at least they bleeped it. Although network television does steer away from some of George Carlin's seven dirty words that you can't say on television the cable channels certainly don't. It's probably not anything he hasn't already heard at school anyway.

Since I didn't get a chance to watch the first episode this season (anniversary one), I checked it out on you tube the other day. "No help" my ass! I paused on some of her notes, and they were somewhat as follows:
In the secondary fridge (was this the "disgusting" one from the previous owners?):
"Ann et al: please don't give away anymore eggs due to winter - low supply"
On the Washer/Dryer:
"Please do not remove Kate's clothes"
"Be careful with the detergent drawer, as it is broken or breaking"
On a cabinet:
"Marantha - peanut butter must be refrigerated!!!"
And then there were to many stupid little notes every where else: "Potatoes Here!", "Don't forget Socks!", etc, etc, etc.
And didn't she say recently in an episode that contrary to popular belief, she has no help? She's a master gas lighter, that's for sure.
I caught a little of Outdaughtered the other night. One comment stood out: The father saying after their GMA appearance, "It's cool that things like these are now a part of our life". These 2 are even worse that Kate. The only difference is, is that they seem nicer, and have not pushed their family away. They give off a professional grifter vibe to me, and they will milk this with every ounce of their being.
Oh, and I did see a nanny in another episode - very brief glimpses of a random woman pushing the kids on a swingset in the back yard.

How is it known that Cara lives in a shell? It could be that she's just a very laid back easy-going teen and really doesn't go for the drama and doesn't let all of this bother her. She does her own thing; she's her own person. That doesn't necessarily mean that she's succumbed to Kate and Mady's control. Obviously she doesn't hide out in school...she's into sports and such.

I think the house's original fridge vanished from the kitchen when it got the TLC makeover. It may have ended up in the basement, but it's no longer in HER kitchen.
As for the help (or lack thereof, lol), she must think her audience is so mesmerized by her relentless double-talk that they are made blind to the clear evidence of regular household help that is all over that house. Is she going to pretend to her kids some day that NONE of those nannies/housekeepers/"sitters" ever existed? I bet they'll laugh their asses off some day soon when they go through the archive of K8's old interviews (forever on the Internet, Katie!) and can pick out her lies line by line.

Did you ladies hear about the possible cruelty to a dog on the set of A Dog's Purpose, a film about dogs being reincarnated? Apparently a German Shepherd was forced to jump into some warm churning water to film a scene and balked. The person filming said "Just throw him in." The handler had to save the dog from being overpowered by the fake waves. Not sure of all the details but it's really horrible, A boycott of the film is being talked about.

There was a tweet posted here from a fan who wanted to know where Kate stores her recipes. Sometimes it's difficult to tell if these ridiculous tweets are snarks from non-fans, or if these sheeple are really serious, stupid and needy. If you take a look at their timelines, you can usually tell from their profiles, their other tweets, to whom they tweet, etc. and be able to discern the mental age of these people and if they really are immature and clueless.

Remember, on the RV trip? The FAT-FREE CREAMER that was crammed into the overflowing refrigerator that would barely shut and broke! The man had to fix it. If she was so organized as she says she is, she would of been able to close the door to the fridge by organizing it better.
Put food in zip lock bags and lay in tray and lay flat. Or stand them up in a large envelope stand.

With "Just to be annoying", I meant I was annoying for even pointing it out.
I know that at least in the public schools you may not bring any medicine to school. Your parent can sign a paper allowing the nurse to give you Tylenol or Advil but I forget if you have to bring your own bottle at the beginning of the year. If you have prescription meds you need a separate bottle or inhaler to be kept only at school at the nurse. You can't carry it back and forth each day. Then you always take your meds in the nurse's off, not at lunch or whatever. I suppose LCDS could have looser rules but I doubt it.
OT,sort of, but something happened today that made me think of Kate and her greed.
I stopped at the grocery store to pick up a few items I needed to make soup this weekend. There was a young father in front of me with a child,about four years old, and a baby in his cart. At the checkout (express lane), the little girl asked for a small pack of peanut butter crackers. I heard her father tell her that he didn't have money right now, that she would have to wait until this weekend. She was painfully thin, and had a sad look on her face. They also had the crackers nearby in large boxes (on sale). I grabbed some boxes, put them with my things, and quickly checked out. While he was helping his little girl with her jacket, and getting the baby out of the cart, I gave him the boxes of crackers. He started to tear up, said he doesn't get paid until tomorrow and had to get just what was necessary until then (some milk, bread, eggs, packaged lunch meat).
All I could think about was Kate and that darn list of food she demanded for herself and kids from one of the hotels where they stayed. I said a few choice words (under my breath) about her that I didn't even know that I knew! She is so disgusting in her greed.

I was in a situation recently at a second hand store we were donating at. A toddler wanted to buy a Thomas the Tank Engine riding toy. There was no price- when asked, the cashier answered $3.99.The mom said no. I offered to buy it as a gift for the little boy. But that mom said "no charity" The child cried and I felt badly- there is a difference between buying food for a child or adult in need and a toy, I guess. I think I should have thought more about how the mother would feel. With food I wouldn't hesitate to offer.

I would have loved to have filled up a shopping cart for that family, but you do have to be careful about offending someone. It's a tough call. It was my gut instinct, though, that the young father would not be insulted by giving them a few boxes of crackers, and I was right. The look on that little girl's face when she couldn't get some peanut butter crackers was heartbreaking. It was something I just had to do.

If Kate's note said that MaraNatha has to be refrigerated, then she definitely meant the organic peanut butter. I remember in old episodes, they always used that brand for the kids' lunch sandwiches. I don't think the label was blurred, so they probably got it for free. I don't care for that brand myself. We love Adams organic PB. Much, much better.

She didn't get enough people because they were trying to charge 35-40% MORE than normal retail cabin price for the privilege of spending a couple of hours with K8 Gosselin and the twins. The tups were not ever listed as going and, let's face it, THEY are the draw. I think it had very little to do with the "haters," it was just economically ridiculous. Speculation, of course, but if anyone has the keys to K8's kingdom, it's Mady. She's seen everything and is not afraid to talk, as is clear from the recent couple of seasons. Hannah has almost succeeded in blowing K8 up (2015 police reports and Hannah's refusal to go home from Jon's), so she's been back-burnered. Cara just refuses to engage for the most part, Alexis seems medicated and sporadically disappears from episodes, and that only leaves three, now that Collin's gone. She has tried to film a few things one-on-one with the two boys remaining, but it doesn't really seem like there's much rapport there; they act like little more than strangers who happen to live in the same house.
I think we mostly agree here that Mady's on top because K8 dare not cross her. If Mady says she doesn't want to film, that circus WILL grind to a halt.
With all of the extremely negative comments, specifically about the twins, on FB, internet articles, etc. does anyone recall when Curt Schilling tweeted/responded to some hateful comments about his daughter and then Kate retweeted it with some silly comment about how she'd do the same thing or something of that nature?
The cruise was cancelled due to lack of interest. The travel agency sent the names of potential cruisers to that CJ sheep so she could vet them and make sure none were haters. Some email was inadvertently sent out with all the names and spooked the potentials off. That's what I recall.

She lost her favorite child status when she did that. I think Kate realizes that Hannah would rather live with Jon, and she will never forgive that. I think it was a combination of everything, the Perfect Storm, so to speak. The Defective was allegedly venting people; the Trust Fund Baby screwed up and revealed way too much personal information when she sent out those e-mails, and of course, the expense just to cruise with a has-been reality star who had to resort, at the last minute, to advertising a frolic on the beach with the twins. It didn't work. There were too many red flags about the whole thing.

I agree, Hannah lost her Golden Child status with the refusal to leave Jon's and the complaints about Collin's treatment. Mady is a lot like Kate. I noticed even her voice has changed a bit recently, more like her mother's whine. And her expressions are either a mockery of Kate's or she's taken them on as her own. Can you imagine the pain it would cause Collin to see his mother slobbering over puppies? Loving them and being so overjoyed? Inviting them into her warm bed and hanging out in the inner sanctum of her bedroom?
Can you imagine turing 12, and you're in a facility far from home and you see your brothers and sisters getting the "best party ever", laughing and playing and getting presents from their friends?
The level of cruelty is off the charts and the fact that people loved watching it is sick.

I remember there was back and forth with Sara Gypsi after her personal info was disclosed. There was something about her having had another vacation scheduled, then she cancelled that one, booked Kate's, and then had concerns about that one.
I'm sure others have a better recollection than I do about that whole situation...blog historian?
Layla (#123), boy, did TFW lay it on thick when she was in recruitment mode. Yes, she acted like they were all gonna be doing mani/pedis and having pillow fights, and those poor souls bought it hook, line and sinker.
But I can imagine she would've withstood one meet and greet, and then there would have been a velvet rope (with a blue shirt and a Kiwi accent) keeping the fans away
for the rest of the cruise. I bet she would've even bailed on pre-planned events at the last minute -- claiming a migraine, or that one of the twins didn't feel well, and she
had to stay in her room.

I hope Collin comes to terms with his mother's rejection and realize it was never him.
I feel very sorry for young Barron Trump. He is above average height for a ten year old but he has been thrust into the spotlight because his father has been elected President. Already people are commenting that he refused to let his mother hold his hand while walking in the parade yesterday.
I hope the Trumps can shield him as the Obamas did with their daughters. He is another example of a child growing up with a worldwide audience; I hope he isn't harmed by this unwanted attention.

My biggest hope is that Jon is back in his life and he gets all the love he deserves from his father.
Thank you to all who gave me insight into the Mady as Queen situation. I do hope that once the twins become adults, they will reach out to their father without fear of how their mother will react.

For the Pioneer Woman fans and followers and for dog lovers everywhere, this news is late, but I just learned of it. Charlie, the ranch dog, the adorable basset hound, has died. To read Ree's tribute and memories of him is a reminder of what a real dog lover appreciates and says about their beloved pet, not the gag inducing drivel of TFW. I hope Jon has filed to get Collin. In a few months, that boy will have been gone a year. This is jus way too long.
Collin needs to see his siblings and get mainstreamed into the world.
Unless he's been violent and is a danger, I think this is horrible.

Just a few lines from Roberts book. Kate manipulating fans to go on the failed cruise. Even promising to wheel Milo around in her wheelchair (she had hip surgery I think) Milo wanted to share a cabin with Kate !
I wonder if K8's little video today is her toe-in-the-water to gauge interest among paying subscribers on YouTube or the like. Only 19K views so far, which is not a raging success by any means. Does she think people are/will become so attached to her dogs that they'll pay to see them? Cuz I think TLC might have clauses in their contract with her that prohibits other filming of the kids or using trademarks, etc., even if they're not doing new episodes anymore. They still have all the old episodes plus unreleased footage that they can air if and when they choose.

Again, for all of her travel and culture, she's is plain and boring. There's nothing that she's made enticing or exciting, and she's void of visual talent.
For example, the puppy video could have been made a thousand times better if she got down on their level.
Kate begging and cajoling people into spending money on that cruise was awful. Kate had to know that the cruise wasn't a certainty, so, if she wasn't going to get a free cruise, she wasn't going.
And she knew that.

I'd be willing to bet that a high percentage of those views are bought and paid for by TFW especially since she's only gotten 29 comments. It's funny that she'll only get 5K views for still pictures but the minute she posts a video that number is tripled. She's only fooling herself (and maybe Milo) with these inflated numbers.
