Heir Kate is walking around with a clipboard and pen asking Andrea, as Andrea truly looks very busy and productive making lots of sandwiches, if she has done various tasks Kate could have done herself. Yes, Kate, I emptied the fridge. Yes, Kate, I ran the dishwasher. Oh, I should clarify, Kate phrases these tasks like did we empty the fridge? Well, if "we" emptied the fridge, then wouldn't Kate know it was done, and could check it off without consulting Andrea? What a piece of work she is, she can't even give Andrea full credit for doing the chores herself. I have never seen a nanny more checked out. Why is she still working for this woman?
This episode is structured like the fifty other episodes where they went on a trip, with about five minutes in the beginning about the chaos of packing. After all this time you would think packing would be pretty efficient and uneventful by now. Absolutely nothing remotely interesting happens. Kate is able to get in a dig at the boys though emphasizing how much they suck at packing. The biggest problem is they don't understand the difference between a play outfit and a go away outfit. Neither do I, so count me as a boy.
I get a kick out of this family always being demoted to the very back of the plane in some of the worst seats possible, right in front of the restrooms so it smells back there, it's busy all the time, and the seats won't recline. I have a feeling it's because unless you book way in advance, it's impossible to get so many seats together in any other part of the plane, but you know it chaps Kate's hide she's not where she should be in first class with the rest of the aristocracy worthy of life boats.
I'm glad some of the kids are able to make the best of the cameras. Several of them frequently make funny faces at the cameras and overall act silly when the red light is on. Good for them.
They start the next day at some cute outdoor seating and beignets. Oh god those are so good. The kids seemed to enjoy the experience and loved putting the powdered sugar on. I notice right away Cara and Mady are constantly whipping their phones out at this meal and showing each other things. For teens who don't have social media, they sure found a lot to look at. Heh. The producer asks what's with taking out the phones at the meal. Mady explains if this were a more formal meal of course she would put the phone away. I agree, this was really casual. It's just breakfast, and just beignets. And if Kate doesn't want the phones out she can tell them so. You have to pick your battles here, and if the phones are keeping the teens in good spirits, who cares? They can put them away at dinner. No one was really talking anyway, except Kate who threw out a few orders at the 12- and 15-year-olds, like don't wipe your hands on your clothes, instead use a napkin. Seriously? I somewhat feel for teens who are always under strict orders from parents over the stupid phones, if the parents don't make any effort to engage them in good conversation or otherwise make their time together interesting so they won't miss their phone so much.
And wouldn't you know it, they're using Snapchat, which is basically social media. Only, I guess they didn't get permission from the app to use the name, because Mady has to call it this app that does face filters. Heh. Snapchat makes this generation's teens giggle uncontrollably like my generation was giggling uncontrollably at the likes of that stupid game Mad Libs. Every generation has their thing.
Kate pretends she cares when the waiter comes over and announces the bill is "36 bucks". So that's how you pay? No check, they just announce the price at the end of the meal? Geez, this place is iPhone casual after all. Let's be honest, that's going on the company credit card. Kate strategically planned the sugar rush in the morning instead of the evening so they can get it out of their system early. Oh, I didn't realize the children were four years old.
You can tell there's not going to be much substance to this episode when they're already filling time by sticking in a bunch of unnecessary old clips about prior family photos. They go to some unnamed park and take a bunch of iPhone photos. A quick google on my part reveals this is probably New Orleans City Park, which houses the oldest tree in New Orleans at 800 years. That's a lot of botox. Why not share some of that interesting information instead of this dumb little side story about how it's hard to get a good family photo? Sigh. At least this time Kate isn't barefoot sucking a lollypop so hard you would think she was practicing how to get a promotion.
Commercials! That little tease of the Duggar show Counting On implying they might be having twins was so stupid. They're not having twins, are they? Yeah I didn't think so. Dumb.
Next up, etiquette class. Where would one begin with this doofus? Alexis is "sick" with the flu and isn't coming. I know kids can get sick suddenly, but is anyone not buying this? She was happy on the plane, scarfed down her beignets that morning, climbed all over the ancient trees. Now, seemingly a short time later, she has the flu? I'm going to speculate Alexis didn't want to film for some reason, had a tantrum, and that's why she's not here. Because I can.
Mark their instructor, who is wearing a beautiful fitted tweed jacket and maroon shirt, begins explaining etiquette. Heh, oh the irony, Kate is already finishing the guy's sentences, which in etiquette is more aptly called interrupting.
The kids are so mean to Alexis, in particular the girls, who almost all claim, in two separate couch interviews no less, that Alexis is basically a slob. Poor kid. At least she laughs at all this teasing, but at a certain point the ganging up on has got to catch up to her psyche. It's one thing when one or two sisters do it, but I think it's quite another when you have four sisters against you. The only person who needs etiquette wasn't there, says Mady. Huh? I see Kate there.
The girls seem rather offended when Mark teaches the boys to escort them to the table and pull their chairs out for them. We can do it ourselves, they insist! Ha, the little Gloria Stienums. Naturally, Kate attributes this sudden stroke of "women's libbers" to her, Kate, since they see her doing it all alone. Drink! Slapping hand to the forehead. Women's lib is not about doing things all by yourself and never letting a man, or anyone, help you. Not mainstream anyway. Is that what she thinks it's about? She's confusing this movement with a praying mantis. No Kate, not the same thing.
Mm, no, I'm gonna go ahead and attribute the girls' feminism to the media. Everything is attributed to the media.
Speaking of all this, why not take your girls to the Women's March, Kate? There was a local one right in Philly, and 50,000 showed up. I didn't go to the one here, but when I was on the 101 freeway this afternoon I drove under several marchers hanging out on the overpasses, and gave them several honks and fist pumps. Lots of my girlfriends went to either this one in L.A. or the one in D.C., and many who have daughters brought them. Kate should have gone. She just might learn something, and she and the girls could be part of history. It's always interesting how unengaged she is with everything, which is fine for herself, but it's depriving her girls of a mother who teachers their daughters to be part of the world instead of just their world.
Mark kisses up to Kate complimenting her on how good the children's manners are already. Speaking of sexist, why is he assuming their manners are all attributable to their mother? Dads teach manners too, as do grandparents and teachers. Hey, Mark, it's not 1879, and the kids have decent manners despite Kate, not because of her.
Mark next lectures that cell phones are a cardinal sin at the table. Generally, at a nice sit down meal, yes. The twins don't care, and justify whipping out their phone in case something cute happens and they need a picture. Ha, Aaden and Joel are so funny. They make fun of the twins and Kate for going through withdrawal tremors not having their phones.
By the way, Collin's not on the couch with his brothers, but he's on this trip. Hm.
Of course Kate feels she needs her phone at the table because she is a mother, which is where Mady throws out her new show name: "Kate Making Excuses for Herself: But I'm an Exception to the Rules Because." Perfection, Mady.
They dig into some delicious bread pudding and for some reason Aaden has developed an uncontrollable fit of the giggles. I love me a good case of the giggles. He is so flipping cute. Of course Kate is right there scolding him and blaming it all on the sugar. I blame it on just a darn great kid.
More sucking up from Mark about how impressive the kids were, again implying this is all attributed to Kate. Eh, they're not all that impressive. They're mostly just average, with average manners. So is this Matt's full time job, teaching people how to cut meat like ladies and gentlemen and scolding teens for having their iPhones out? Or did they just bring this guy in specially for the Gosselins?
Coming up, looks like they're doing some Hurricane Katrina clean-up. I know it's been a decade since the hurricane but I believe it that there's still work to be done. I went down there for a week to do some clean-up about 18 months after the hurricane and there was still plenty to do. The experience was one I'll never forget, but I also came away with a deep sense of frustration. I found the clean-up efforts disorganized and inefficient. Even though our group was working directly with major organizations like the Red Cross, there were many times where we were sitting around while they tried to figure out where best to send us. We also had to spend time fixing other people's botched efforts, like a playground built by Extreme Makeover that had major drainage problems. The whole thing was just so inept and sad, and it's really sad, though frankly not all that surprising given what I experienced, that ten years later there is still all this work to do. This is unacceptable governmental crawl, at, in my view, state and federal levels, but mostly local.
Okay, fine, I'll recap this comment. Kate has always wanted to do a building project with the kids. Good grief, then just go do it! You don't have to go all the way to New Orleans to get your fix. Look at Habitat for Humanity's web site and find a local weekend project and just go. She's just so helpless.
Day two. They head out to the historic ninth ward, which still looks pretty run down. The reality is much of the population just never came back. I still remember going there and seeing spray paint on the doors of each of the flooded houses, markings from disaster workers indicating what's been cleared from inside. Descriptions like two bodies, three bodies, etc. Chilling, devastating, preventable.
Oh wouldn't you know it, Alexis is miraculously feeling better from her sudden-onset flu. Did it ever occur to Kate that because Alexis is so teased about her manners by her siblings, she was embarrassed to be at an etiquette class and potentially face more ridicule and so quickly worked up some "flu" to stay behind? Poor kid.
They meet up with a guy and girl from Youth Rebuilding, which rebuilds houses just for teachers. That's awesome. Their comments about what's going on here are somewhat vague, which I found typical when I volunteered there, but I think they're saying they still have 40,000 homes left to go through in the 9th ward.
It's rare I agree with Kate, but she too, correctly, thinks it's absurd that there is still so much cleaning up to do here after ten years. Will she delve into why that is, where the failing are, or have any curiosity about this problem at all? Of course not. I myself have a lot of political thoughts about this issue I suppose I should refrain from sharing, but I'm going to anyway. Suffice it to say I do put a huge amount of blame for the snail's pace clean-up efforts on the local government and local disorganization, based primarily on my own experience spending a week there doing clean-up among locals. In fact as far back as 2006 the mayor was under all kinds of fire for the slow efforts even then. You can pour all kinds of money and volunteers at a community, but if they refuse to get organized and implement some efficiency, of course it's going to take ten or more years to get cleaned up. For one, if my organization, which happened to be my school, was made to wait hours and hours while they sorted out something for us to do, how many hundreds of thousands of volunteer hours have been lost over the past ten years because New Orleans couldn't get organized? For another, if an organization is going about a project all wrong such that it will have to be redone from scratch, why didn't someone notice or say something before it was too late? These third-world country clean-up efforts are an outright disgrace and nearly as tragic as the hurricane itself.
Kate apparently doesn't see the irony in her comment that kids can get tunnel vision and only focus on what they need and want. What a two-faced dolt.
They begin painting some interiors. Then, they move to a demolition project. Oh, those are fun! Too much explanation, not enough demo. Finally they hammer into the plaster and have at it. I'm a big fan of introducing kids to volunteer work in a manner that ensures they are having a blast. It lays good foundations for understanding how volunteering can enrich you just as much as those you are helping.
I like Cara's shirt, which looks like a college t-shirt but instead says "Kale." Good one. You can get it at Urban Outfitters.
Mady says all this volunteer work was fun. Cara picks lint.
Kate is such a freaking jerk. As they are wrapping up the work she thanks the guys from Youth Rebuilding, then says this is good in particular for her kids who forget how good they have it. Um, her kids are standing right there! I understand that's a major motivation behind engaging children in volunteer work, but it's mean to tell people, right in front of your kids no less, that your kids are ungrateful. Even if it were true, would you say that about your adult best friend if she were standing right next to you? Why people think it's okay to make rude and nasty comments about their kids simply because they are kids is beyond me. If you're concerned a child has a real problem with gratitude (one that goes beyond normal childhood development, too) one should speak to them privately about it, or involve a therapist if necessary. Oh, and I'll give Kate a hint. Due in large part to disrespectful comments like that, her kids have little motivation to be grateful. Why try to live up to the expectations of someone who has such little respect for you to begin with?
Also, the kids don't have it that good. They have tons of money and a comfortable upper middle class lifestyle and for that I have always said they should be grateful, but they have also lost their privacy for it, which many are probably going to grow up and resent if some don't already. But, it's important to Kate's daily propaganda the kids have it drilled into them their lives are amazing, mostly due to Kate.
The kids are at that age now where they can actually make a difference, Kate remarks. Yes, they were at that age seven years ago, too.
Kate claims they next ran into an "insectarium" that wasn't part of the plan because it rained that day. She, Kate, not production mind you, researched this all out on the internet. It's just absurd that Kate gives herself full credit for planning activities when there is an incredible amount of work that almost all productions large and small need to do to film in almost any place you can think of that Kate couldn't possibly know how or be capable of doing. Wait, so did they run into it randomly, or did she hunt it down browsing on the internet? Those two statements don't seem consistent. How does a production crew stumble upon something like this with all the permits and releases that are required to film? Why does this woman lie so badly? Why do I hurt my brain trying to make sense of her?
It's another bug place which I feel like they've done at least twice before. I have nothing against bugs but little about this is interesting or worth recapping. The whole time Kate's on the sidelines making this all....about...her, screaming and carrying on and threatening to faint. So just faint already and be done with it, at least then you would finally STFU.
Even Joel and Hannah admit they were really embarrassed by Kate's behavior. She's making a scene (and there's a whole camera crew there) of course they're embarrassed. The rest of the kids seem mortified too. Just ask other kids with mentally ill mothers, it's very embarrassing.
The bug that looks like a leaf is outright wild. It really looks exactly like a leaf. They head to the bug cafe where they are presented with a variety of dishes with bugs in them, like chocolate chip cookies with a cricket in there. More screaming and carrying on from Kate, meanwhile the kids are much more open minded and willing to try. Joel even liked the crickets. The kids call her overly dramatic and are even more embarrassed. Kate's skin is quite bad during this segment, obviously covered up by cakes of foundation. I don't know if that's stress or what.
Now they're holding a baby alligator? That's not a bug. I'm confused. They try to make it seem like this is the happiest day of Alexis's life, but you can tell she's 12 now and alligators don't do it for her quite the same way as they used to. Much like a twelve-year-old is not going to go ga-ga over a T-rex or firetrucks the same way when he was two. It's okay, Alexis.
The museum was a lot better than Kate expected, Kate remarks. Does Kate understand phrasing a comment like that is generally a rude thing to say? I really think her social skills at this point are about a two of 10. She doesn't seem to understand how rude and condescending some of her remarks are. Oh, sure, sometimes I think she's intentionally being an asshat. But other times I think she genuinely thinks she's giving the museum a compliment by saying they are better than expected. She just doesn't understand, and like Carry Ann Inaba, I'm fascinated.
Next up, a cooking class, which is also something they've done at least once before. I guess no one can say she doesn't do her part to reduce, reuse and recycle!
I like the canned New Orleans music they are playing. You know those moments where you have a flashback memory to something you haven't thought of in years? I just had one, to the obscure made-for-T.V. movie The Muppets of Bremen, which was a very clever play off the Grimm fairytale, only set in cajun country. I must have watched it a dozen times as a little kid. Jim Henson was so clever and such a master. Seven hells, I actually found it on Youtube! I love it.
They begin the cooking class by having a little crawfish pealing challenge. The kids enjoy it, and as per the usual Kate is freaking out and claims she has a stomach ache. You know, if you are going to be a cook, unless you're a vegetarian cook only, at least take some responsibility to have some awareness of how your animals get from the farm or wild to the table. Stop acting like Woody Allen and Diane Keaton trying to cook a lobster and be an adult.
z
They divide into teams and make a rue, some shrimp jumbo, and a colorful salad. Yum. At last they dig in. Collin really isn't saying much throughout this segment and never cracks a smile, he just stands around watching his siblings cook. Something is very off there.
Kate isn't exactly Giada De Laurentiis is she? "That had perfect spice and bite," she remarks. Lol, so descriptive. I'd love to know what she thinks bite means.
Finally they head to the fancy restaurant Galatoire's, which naturally Kate takes full credit for booking. Heh.
Aw, the kids look great all gussied up. The boys look like little Mormons in their white shirts and ties. Cute.
Way to suck all the fun out of a nice restaurant like this by making it a test of their etiquette class. Predictably, the kids immediately start ragging on Alexis, this time about how she eats the bread. Leave Alexis Alone!
The waitresses are being extraordinarily nice to the children, though I question if that's how they are to all children or if this is just because they're celebrities.
They go around the table and talk about what they enjoyed the most. Collin very clearly says he enjoyed the cooking class and insectarium. He seems like a sweet, though frankly, sad little boy. It's hard to believe someone like him needs to be institutionalized. If he does, he sure hides his issues well.

Mady and some of the other kids try snails and like them. Mmmm, I like them too. Or maybe I just like the butter and garlic they always drown them in and all the bread dipping I do afterward, heh.
At the end of the day the kids' manners and even Kate's really aren't that impressive. They have to constantly be reminded to wait until everyone is served, which really should be basic for kids by this age. They also frequently touch their food with their fingers, boss each other around, make dramatic and disgusted faces when they eat something they don't like, and blurt out rude things like "I hate mushrooms!" Kate's had years to help them correct these poor manners, this shouldn't be this much of a struggle.

Ha, there's Andrea at the other end of the table just downing wine and bread pudding and not really saying much. It's been a long trip, hasn't it?
Next time, it's so odd that they have never been to the Poconos! The problems of the one percent are often odd.

«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 400 of 496 Newer› Newest»I am so sick of seeing that stupid FAKE ad for My Big Fat Fabulous Life. I bet dollars to donuts that she is neither a lesbian or pregnant. After she picks up the pregnancy test stick and then makes that horrible face (leading you to believe she is pregnant) is so fake. And so is that kiss with that woman. TLC is using both scenarios to draw the audience in.
I do not watch the program. I watched about two episodes probably in the first season. But if neither turns out to be true than it just goes to show you how fake her reality show is and how fake TLC is. I mean why have the promotion ads showing both scenes over and over non-stop.
Oh, and I just went to TLC's line-up and her show is starting tonight. It says there is a fight and shocking news leading to a catastrophe. Why not make the promotions about that? I will not be tuning in tonight. I have zero interest in her. If somebody else watches this show that let us know if either scenario pans out in the season. Or I will probably just google it in a month or so.
When I first checked it at 4:15 (my time) it only had a little over 450 likes. It's now 4:19 and it's got over 1,000 likes. Methinks someone is buying likes again. I think I'll continue to monitor this.

Holy cow! Great catch NJ Gal. Are you certain it was just 4 minutes in time. I mean that is stunning? Hell yes, she is buying tons of followers. And she is not even on TV at the present time either.
I just checked and had to follow her to see the likes. She now have 4,550 likes. Holy cow (again). Am I missing something because I don't use social media. Is this number of likes just for this photo or for all of her photo? Thanks!
NJGal51 (#199), aww, TFW didn't forget
the zillions of fans who will have desolate feelings in their hearts every Tuesday now, just a wishin'-and-a-hopin' for new content.
And, poof, instead of finishing up their work at the office, or in their kitchens making dinner for their families, or helping their kids with homework, 1,000 of her fans not only watched that video, but liked it. Suuuuure they did.
And, please, a "flahback" from 7 months ago? Well, in dog years, that's 7x7 months, so it's about 4 years. C who?
Excuse me I was looking at the wrong photo. The fetch video now has 5,743 likes. And this is at 6:08 central time.

Good!
Yes Leslie it was 4 minutes. I had it on a split screen and did a refresh.
Y'all sorry for another post but guess what? I just went back to that fetch video and refresed by screen. In 3 to 4 minutes it went from 5,743 to 5,858. Keep hitting the refresh button and the numbers went from 5,859;6,253; 6,264; 6,284; 6,294. All within less than 30 seconds. What is going on. It is 6,580 now. Time is 6:19pm central.
It went from likes to views now. Strange huh?
Sounds like IG bots to me.

The one photo. She is a horrible person to spend money to up her likes and views.
All that money could make a dent in her community food pantry.
Vanity is thy name.
Her view count is now 7,676 and it's 5:39 AZ time. I use likes and views interchangeably. I guess likes are for still photos and views are for videos.
8,937 views and it's 6:03 AZ time. I don't have anything better to do now other than check her views because we're just sitting around waiting for a friend to arrive....6:06 and the count is up to 9,101. Do her fans actually believe that she hasn't purchased likes/views. Rhetorical question Milo.
NJGal51 (#13), well, that Nick guy admitted to having plenty of money and free time. And a hopeless devotion to a woman who wouldn't spit on him if he was on fire. Maybe he's helping the cause?
If you open Kate's IG video and click on where it gives the number of views(on the to left) it will show you the number of likes. As of 9pm ET, it shows 11,406 views, but only 1860 likes.
Hmm, maybe her view counter is hooked to the same counter that she has on her website. ;)
Duggar views went south pretty significantly this week, from 1.259mm views for the premiere last week to 1.070mm last night. Maybe this show will die a natural death a la K8 + 7.
Kate is a Twit @15 (this page). Thanks for that info. I didn't know you could do that.
miloandjack2016 LOL. Love the #PrancingPuppy game! You sound just like me...minus the awful southern accent! 😋 Love this #Flahback! @kateplusmy8
She really wants to be Kate, or just like her. If this isn't SWF, I don't know what is, and it's getting worse. Pathetic.
I have no idea who this Nick is and I'm not going to lose sleep over it, but could it be that the Border sheeple created this persona because she tweeted that she will be having risky surgery and will be away for a month? With a new ID, she can keep tweeting without being called on this fake surgery.
A case of Multiple Personality Disorder? Is there a a Sybil in there somewhere?
Leslie, I agree with your assessment of MBFFL.
She tells her ex that she is pregnant and he said, Are you blanking kidding me?
Then she and another guy? I think were sitting on the couch and he said, Do you think I am going to support you? Then he said, Punk B****.
I saw that woman trying to kiss her! GIVE ME A BREAK!
The pregnancy, the kiss, then her grandmother? was rushed to the hospital with bleeding on her brain. She rushes in all scared. The camera inches away from the patient. There is no way any nurse/drs. would allow a camera crew in the room with a patient with a bleeding brain!
But I watched a earlier show while channel surfing and it was disgusting.
She was with a guy and they were at a bakery, stuffing and chomping down on cake samples that were huge! She was trying to figure out what kind of cake for a birthday party. Will that be for her 30th? Just guessing.
Her trainer looks like he is done with her but is hanging on by a thread because he is making money by being on the show. She weighed and she gained 4 pounds.
What is so insane is when she is dancing, running, stepping on the title of the show. It is ridiculous.
She reminds me of someone choosing a certain way of life and live to be 50 and a different way of life and live to be 100.
Cara's not afraid to actually exercise her leverage. She sits there on the couch not saying a WORD not even so much as cracking a smile. It's the Mady show, every time.
It's like Cara is saying, don't like me not saying anything? How about I not participate at all, would you like that better?
Cara has total control of the situation and Kate knows it. Your darn right she gets to play lacrosse.
15.8K views, 2.3K likes but only 25 comments on TFW's latest IG post. What's wrong with this picture? She needs to buy more of the views that come with more likes and comments to balance it out a little more.
Thanks Golly Gee for the summary:
"She tells her ex that she is pregnant and he said, Are you blanking kidding me? Then she and another guy? I think were sitting on the couch and he said, Do you think I am going to support you? Then he said, Punk B****.
=======
Has this pregnancy been confirmed by a real Dr.yet? Yes or NO? Or do you think the story line will be her home pregnancy test was not correct and then the Dr. at a later date (and episode) will then say she is NOT pregnant? If so how disgusting to be playing the audience over the potential conception of a life.
So the guy that knocked her up is out of her life and now she is with Mr. "Punk Bitch"? I stated I had no interest in this woman but I may have to tune in to see the craziness for myself.
And how dare TLC film that brain surgery. Like you stated it has to be fake. Anyway, GG, thanks again. Look at me, I am falling for this stupid fakeness by asking questions. Really, shame on me.
Cara has total control of the situation and Kate knows it. Your darn right she gets to play lacrosse.
)))))))))))
Do you mean continues to play lacrosse? She's been on the team for years, long before she figured out she's in control and became a silent lint-picker.
Adults can be exploited and it really sounds like TLC is taking every advantage of a woman with such severe weight issues one can only attribute it to her mental health. While this Whitney person can certainly consent to all this attention, should anyone accept her consent? This is all so very wrong and exploitive.

Whitney has chosen the way of life to live to 50 instead of living another way of life to 100.
TLC has also taken horrible advantage of Collin and his brothers and sisters by filming them when poor Collin was having a major crisis. This is when you shut down filming not eat, drink and be merry at the bestest birthday party ever, when your brother was removed from his own home!
Oh, I think Cara realized her leverage years ago. She's been disengaged from filming for a very long time.

At this point, I put 100% of the blame on Kate.
10 years ago, J+K were young, foolish and uninformed. They jumped at a chance to make money and get tons of freebies.
Now, Kate's made all the money she needs for the kids.
They have college funds for 8. Who can say that?
They have more than most families in America.
Now, it's just Kate squeezing out every drop of filmability and fame that she can.
TLC would not be able to film this family in crisis if Kate wanted to stop it.
In fact, she's fought tooth and nail to keep her children in the public eye.
TLC will never be off the hook in my eyes, but post divorce, this is all on Kate.
Yes, Cara is not even there at times- hope she's at lacrosse or something. Or refusing to film. Remember the one where Kate tried to force a hug on her? And she can speak her mind- she lambasted Mommy at that pumpkin smashing game. She let Mady plan the Sweet 16 party and said she didn't care about it, and she also let her run the game show. She did wear her tram color. go Cara!
After reading the comments about that Whitney show, I watched a bit of it last night. I find it hard to believe that her parents are participating along with other friends(?) in, what looked to me, exploiting this woman's "issues" (whatever they might be). I won't be watching again.
bm
Kate is plain greedy. Always has been. Dr. Gosselin supported her and Jon and when he passed, she came up with a new scheme which paid off very well. Still, it's never been enough. She can comfortably retire at this point but instead presses on with her greed and destruction of her children, family and friends.
oops...I wrote "She did wear her tram color. go Cara! " That should read She did NOT wear her team color!"
Tucker's Mom (#28), it's laughable to stop and think about all the reasons (read: excuses) TFW has given for filming over the years. One of the earliest ones was, she had no time to make home movies, so, tada, TLC did it for them. Then we heard the whole world wanted to look in their windows, because they were oh-so-curious about how a family with 2 sets of multiples lived (93 loaves of bread and 114 boxes of Cheerios every morning -- how do they do it?!). Then they had to keep filming because, well, they owed it to the fans, who were so gosh darn invested in them. Then when the marriage ended, Poor Single Mom TFW had to continue filming, because, well, how else could she support 8 children alone? And please don't say she should get a job, as she will quickly remind you the childcare costs would exceed any salary she could earn. We've also heard assorted things about college funds, and missed crew daddies, and weeping times 8 when they were canceled. Have I missed anything?
. She can comfortably retire at this point but instead presses on with her greed and destruction of her children, family and friends.
******
My sense is that Kate's wish is to never have to return to nursing or any other job in which she's just another employee. If she can't be on tv, in front of the camera, or be paid for being "Kate Gosselin", or survive on social media and book writing, she wants enough money to live VERY comfortably for the rest of her life.
Oh, and marrying a rich man will be on the table when the schtick of the exhausted, single mom doing it all alone is no longer viable.
Then again, I can't rule out that Kate and Steve will gamble on a media venture together.

Do you mean continues to play lacrosse? She's been on the team for years, long before she figured out she's in control and became a silent lint-picker.
*****************
I don't know why I thought of this, but with Cara sitting next to Mady and zoning out, I thought of that Twitter account, Sitting Next to Kim Davis. lol
Sitting Next to Cara Gosselin.
I remember Cara lying on the interview couch with her back to the camera many years ago--before the 2011 cancellation. She may sit up now, but she's still net engaged. No wonder she wants to go far away for college. If she stays home, she knows her mother will force her to be part of this fiasco.
I am wondering how much we will hear about the custody case. It has been said that there will be a trial of some sort. Will any details become public? TLC could end up taking a black eye if revelations of abuse are made public. And if they sign up for another season--and Jon is able to get legal rights and halt filming of the kids--they could end up losing money. They would be smart to back away and wait things out. Of course, Kate knows that her days of filming the kids are drawing to a close as they get older, so she will be pushing for lots of filming immediately. So...how long until another season materializes? Will there be other seasons?
Leslie, I don't watch Whitneys show, just caught it while surfing.
The camera crew was not in the operating room with her grandmother. They were all in a private hospital room, and the grandmother looked rough. BUT! If she was taken in for a brain bleed, why were they allowed to come in and film it? To make a memory for Whintney?
Whitney told her ex that she was pregnant and he said your blanking kidding me. The guy on the couch looked different that called her, P.B.
I saw on FB the page LOL TLC GET REAL Whitneys picture on her cell phone that said, 3 days, 3 pregnancy tests, 3 positives. So, she is allegedly pregnant.
There was also a segment when Whitney was on the radio doing a show and a very skinny upcoming lady comedian was really letting Whitney have it and Whitney and her were going back and forth pretty good.
So...how long until another season materializes? Will there be other seasons?
*******
Well, Spring break is around the corner, so that's when I expect to perhaps see Twitter sightings, if they film.
I won't be surprised if TLC continues to film. They don't give a crap about anything except making money and long as they can.

I think Dolly's program is wonderful and it's exposed many children who wouldn't have normally had the opportunity to books and early childhood reading, but it's not available for every child.
The recipient child has to live within certain zip codes to qualify for the program. From what I can tell the qualifying children must live in disadvantaged areas. Golly, have you had different results?
@Admin I do think your belief is true in regards to cara. However i do wonder why Cara doesn't go to Jon's.I remember her and jon were so close. She and him roller bladed together in an early episode.I also remember in one episode Cara wrote a father day card for Jon(and i remember Mady annoying her)saying i love you.Someone also correct me if im wrong but i don't think cara actually said anything negative about her father in the people magazine other then state that she wanted to go to college. Its possible Mady probably influences her to not go but i don't know.
Cara has gone on record (People, I believe) saying negative things about Jon. Not slamming him, but sort of going along with Mady when the twins are plied and massaged for quotes on their father.
She and Jon were very close, and I'm betting that with just a little bit of encouragement and therapy, Cara could reconnect with her father and begin to heal her relationship with him.
She's got a good head on her shoulders and is an impressive young lady.
Being that the twins have cell phones, I hope Jon messages them to let them know he loves them always.
Anyone know why tups' 10th birthday is no longer on YouTube ( or Spring Break )of that year?

Let me give you a hint, Connie.
It's not Collin.
RIP Mary Tyler Moore
Tucker's Mom, they have a week long break in February for President's Day. Her show is still listed on Figure 8's web page and when you click on it, it sends you to the TLC Kate Plus 8 page; however, she has no upcoming shows on their schedule and her show is not one of the ones TLC has confirmed regarding renewal for 2017 so far. Every time I think she's done, she pops back up so it's possible this is just a break for now until the custody trial is settled. And then there's Collin and the investigation regarding his accusations. And her stinky ratings.
TLC Stinks (49),
Last year at this time there was already filming done for the season that just aired. They had done the igloo, the trip to Costco, and the family game thing. And it took the whole year to piece and patch (heehee) enough footage together to call it a season. Somehow I don't see it getting any easier for them to come up with things to film. C is still away, and they won't be getting more new puppies (hopefully). TLC has to be running out of ideas.
I'm hoping we hear nothing about filming over the kids' break in Feb and their spring break. I think the tups' 13th will be filmed--probably without Collin. After that--who knows?
The camera crew was not in the operating room with her grandmother. They were all in a private hospital room, and the grandmother looked rough. BUT! If she was taken in for a brain bleed, why were they allowed to come in and film it? To make a memory for Whintney?
========
GollyGee - Of course it was to make money 💰! Everyone that was filmed would have had to sign off on it (doctors and nurses included) or they would have had to blur the faces. I don't know if this was done because I don't watch the show.

Mary Tyler Moore was one of the best shows from the 1970's golden age of TV. How I miss some of the others too, Bob Newhart, M-A-S-H, All In The Family etc., great shows before the dawn of reality TV.
Rest In Peace Mary and thanks for great entertainment.
bm
I cannot imagine another tup birthday filmed without Collin.
TLC stinks (#57), heck, I couldn't have imagined any tup birthday filmed without C.
But they had one, and TFW claimed it was
their BEST BIRTHDAY PARTY EVER! I still can't wrap my mind around it. She is a horrible mother.
Yep, best one for her because she did not have to keep Collin corralled while filming. She sure is deflecting about Collin these days with the puppy pictures. People aren't going to write him off.
My Big Fat Fabulous Life scored 1.236 million last night. So, no matter how ridiculous the show is, it is far ahead of K+8 in ratings. If Whitney goes through a pregnancy and has a baby, it might be around for awhile. The Duggars always have something new--a courtship, wedding, or baby--to keep it going. The other shows all have cute little kids or interesting family dynamics to keep interest. K+8 has none of that, and no promise of anything new to come. And the potential for even more scandal is on the horizon with the upcoming trial and child abuse investigation. Of course, TLC is pretty stupid when it comes to dealing with scandal. They don't seem to know when to back away, and then they end up taking heat for their "talent's" behavior. Josh Duggar, Mama June, and Toby Willis gave them the "Touching Little Children" moniker. Maybe Kate will bring them something new. You'd think they'd learn to be more cautious by now.
Layla (#60), wow, that's even higher numbers than the Duggars. Maybe this chick will be TLC's new golden girl.
You're right, all those other shows have something new and interesting to offer. Look at the Roloffs, with a new grandbaby coming, and Amy with a dreamy new boyfriend. If TFW gets some new episodes, what's her draw? Seven teenagers at varying stages of brattiness, entitlement
and disinterest, a missing special needs child whose existence has been practically wiped from the record (just like his daddy's), and a bunch of dogs?
But in the next breath, I will admit I don't think she's ever going to be gone. Ever.
BM ....... Do you get MeTv, Cozi TV or even TV Land channels? Alot of those shows are on those channels, especially MeTv. Sometimes they are hard to find and you have to channel surf....MeTv is playing Mary Tyler Moore shows on Sunday afternoon as a tribute.

Simple enough, she's been alienated against Jon. For some kids, it will take and take hard. She has Kate over a barrel and she's alienated from Jon. The two are not mutually exclusive.
My fear for her though is that she will wake up one day at 27 years old, realize her father is not the deadbeat selfish unloving parent her mother described, and really resent her mother for brainwashing her. You can't get these years back, and it's tragic. This is one of those things where Kate may be successful at keeping some of them away from him for a handful of years, but it may come back to bite her when they wake up and want nothing to do with her for decades and decades. I wouldn't take the chance if I were her. She can surely find something to do with herself without the kids every other weekend. In many ways having some of the kids still involved with Jon could end up being very bad for her, because those kids are going to be around to inform the other kids that Jon isn't what Mommy describes. I don't know, I wouldn't risk it.

If this happen after they are all 18 and no longer film, it'll be a gift for Kate, I'm sure. Being rid of all of them. It's not like she as any real interest in them.
Kate is only batting 50% now when it comes to alienating the kids from Jon. And it may be less than that because I don't believe Collin and Alexis were alienated but "kept from" Jon because of behavior issues she did not want him to know about and/or punishment by denying them time with their dad. I agree that Cara, when she matures, will break from Kate. The only one who has totally broken from Jon is Mady, Kate's Klone.
RoxyHelen (#66), I agree that TFW might
be pleased as punch to have as many of those kids out of her life as she can. But that would trip her up, because I believe she's counting on filming for the rest of
the kids' childhoods to pay her bills. Not necessarily a series, but at least update specials (twins graduate high school, tups turn 16, twins go to college, tups graduate high school, etc.), and the perks that go along with them.
I think TFW sees her career extending way past that with public appearances and more books -- however she can squeeze every last dollar out of her kids' existence. But if a couple of her kids are living with their dad, and another is 3,000 miles away at college, and another doesn't want anything to do with her -- and who knows where C will end up -- it will become challenging to keep up the illusion of that hap-hap-happy K+8 crew.
And I honestly don't think she has a plan B.
I suspect her Plan B is a book since she invited Brownlow, an author, to be on the Sweet Sixteen show. I noticed that she introduced her only as an "art school teacher" not an author, LOL. I don't believe Brownlow has been a teacher for years according to her bio. If I were Brownlow, I would not sign up for a ghostwriting gig with Kate. We know how that turns out.
TLC stinks (#71), I also think since Brownie has a background with young people, that TFW would try her hand at (read: have Brownie write) some kind of mother and daughters book with the twins about their experiences. I remember Carol Burnett and her daughter Carrie (who sadly died quite young) did a book together about Carrie's drug addiction and recovery. With a few comments from TFW and the twins (or, at least the one who enjoys sharing), Brownie could probably bang out a book in a few weeks. Stay tuned.

Kate is too self absorbed and the twins are too young and lacking in life experience to care and realize that Jon might not be around when they realize they need him and want him in their lives.
Life is fragile, kids. Sometimes, children don't bury their parents when they are very old. Sometimes we lose our parents too early.
Then, it's too late.
Kate doesn't care. She will never mourn the loss of relationships. Her parents- I wonder how long it's been since they've seen Kate or their grandchildren?
So many family members who may be lost to one another for life. All because of Kate.

Typical smoke and mirrors.
Saying that Brownie is a teacher implies the kids know her through school, when she is actually another fan Kate has allowed into their inner fold.
Author? Heck, if Beth Carson isn't an author in Kate's eyes, Brownie sure isn't either! There is no other real author is Kate's world besides Kate.
I can see a new book on the horizon. After all, she is on the New York best seller list!
I guess Jon's book is on the back burner if there really is a custody case.
@RoxyHelen Respectfully i disagree,i think Kate does imagine a "Growing up Gosselin"spinoff type of show.Im probably thinking to far ahead but the problem for her is that, she'd have no control over what the kids would or wouldn't want on the show.If one of the kids wanted their father to be on the show, she'd have no control over it.They also can request to edit out scenes that would make them look bad. Then again that hasn't stop TLC from showing the scenes where Kate makes an ass of herself.
Speaking of Brownie, it must have occurred to her how immature the tups are. She had to tell them to say thank you to the ice cream people. And those picture frames! They looked like something my first grade child would bring home. And the screaming while she was trying to help them. Really, the kids were outta control.

Maybe there was no plan at all. Brownie just dropped off a load of cereal (or whatever else Kate was looking for at the moment, something from Australia) and she invited herself to stay and be filmed. Speaking of invitations, where is Ms Uggs?

I frankly do not see anyone but maybe Mady agreeing to this show. Also, I don't see TLC picking up a show about Mady and Kate for more than one season, if at all. The show is about the 8 kids and even that doesn't draw people in anymore, Kate and Mady cannot have their own show. In fact, even if one or two tups would also be willing to film, there still wouldn't be any show. Of course I don't doubt Kate would want cameras to film them forever but what I meant to say is, when the tups turn 18 as well and probably no kid wants to film anymore, she won't care. No filming=they can all go to Jon's or wherever the hell they want, out of Kate's sight.
Mady might agree to that, but I can't see Cara saying yes.
****
Yeah, not unless Kate has something to hold over her head.
I hope Cara spends the next 2 or so years reconnecting with Jon, then takes off, far away from a life of invasive cameras in peering eyes.
The only draw the family would have would be when the tups a little older now with significant others and a high school graduation. Not to mention a 16th/18th birthday special. The show needs to not come back as a "season" anymore. The amount of vacations that happened this season were ridiculous and that's only because they had nothing else to offer. Not to mention the general public does not take well to Kate.
-LA
Kate is quoted in Robert's book (I think it was a quote from her diary), "When I'm old and gray (and probably still filming)"...She wants to film forever. This thing with TLC was a gold mine for her, and she just kept demanding more and more and more. When she hooked up with Julie Carson May, one of her demands was that TLC film at least 35 episodes per year. If she had things her way, they would still be filming that much. She couldn't care less about the pressure it might put on the kids--this is her dream.
It must really irk her that she's only getting a handful of episodes per year now. I don't think the idea of the gravy train slowing down ever occurred to her. She seemed to think that it would go on forever, as long as she wanted it. She was so arrogant about that $2million house, but the fact is, she never got it. Beth had a $2M house, and I think Kate really wanted Beth's lifestyle. Beth's kids went to LCDS, so Kate had to send her kids there. Beth had that cute little BMW roadster, but the best Kate could do was an Audi. Beth went to the spa, so Kate had to go to spas. Kate sold out her family and did irreparable harm to her kids (especially C), and she never did manage to achieve what Beth had. And with the way things are going now, she never will.
Well, Mama June (Honey Boo Boo's mother) has allegedly scored a docuseries on WE-TV, chronicling her body transformation.
Tucker's Mom (#75), your you-never-know comment had me thinking: what if, heaven forbid, TFW passed unexpectedly? She has alienated many of her children from their father, and has deprived them of relationships with their grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. Does she realize those children would feel completely alone in the world? This clannish business may work if you get to live forever, but, seriously, how awful would it be for her kids? All her golden platter seems more and more hollow as the years tick by, and her children are deprived of years of relationships that they can never get back. It's a form of abuse, in my opinion.

Wow, missed opportunity for Kate. If she wasn't so vain, she could have had someone document all her procedures.
Although TFW loves the money, more than anything she is addicted to the fame. It proves that she is "someone". Her biggest fear is when people start to say "Kate who?" They're starting to say that now and you can see her desperation in her IG posts. We all know that she buys views and likes on IG but even when she sees those inflated numbers she feels like she is someone. Another book? After the dismal sales numbers on her cook book a doubt that a publishing house would touch it. It would have to be another self published book. Does anyone know if Brownie self publishes or is she with an indie house?

Another sex scandal for the Duggars!
Jim Bob must think it is ok for anyone who has been charged, molested, raped, found out about or convicted of a sex crime that it is just fine and dandy for that person to be around his children and family.
http://www.intouchweekly.com/posts/duggar-sex-scandal-123903/photos/duggar-court-doc1-228032
The younger children's live-in homeschooling teacher is marrying a convicted rapist who received a pardon.
Isn't this something?
According to legal documents, in 2000, Timothy was convicted of criminal sexual conduct in the third degree after having nonconsensual sex with a woman. “That is something that happened in my past,” Timothy says, insisting he was “falsely accused” of the crime.
When In Touch asked Timothy’s mother, Ruby Ann Robertson, about the crime, she said, "When these young people party and drink they do silly, stupid stuff! A whole bunch of ’em was drinking that day. They was drinking all day long and it was just a big mess.”
After pleading guilty, Timothy received a three-year suspended sentence and was put on probation for a year and had to pay $943 restitution. Then in 2008, the South Carolina Board of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services pardoned him.
“[My past] has been cleaned,” Timothy adds. “I love my fiancée. And I think the Duggars are a fabulous family. That’s all I need to put out there.”
Maybe this will be another way TLC will finally get rid of the Duggars. I doubt it because Jessa is due soon and Jill is pregnant, I think with twins. If Jim Bob even thinks that TLC will pull the gravy train plug, John David will be a shortly courtin'!
I wonder if she would be interested in a body transformation show. She could make the decision to become morbidly obese and talk about her 600 lb. life.
bm
Another book? That seems like a bad plan after sales of the last book. At least with Brownie she might have an "in" with a publisher. Poor Brownie. Your career is about to come to a screeching halt. The book will sell 100 copies or less and your publisher will drop you after dealing with Kate.
FlimsyFlamsy...I saw that. And the name of the show is Mama June from Not to Hot. Eww.
Maybe this will be another way TLC will finally get rid of the Duggars.

Why would they get rid of the Duggers? If he wanted to move in with her they'd either say no or they'd fire the home school teacher. Problem solved.

IIRC, she was with Sapphire, which I think is an indie, for the first book or two. Now she's using Amazon's CreateSpace. Either way, she's not a connection to a big publishing house. But I don't think any big publisher is going to touch Kate, unless she were to promise a real tell-all, including all details of her ties to Steve. Besides that and the cosmetic procedures, there's not much more to her story that everyone doesn't already know.
Is she (or he) talking about the resident non-fans on Kate's Twitter?

I wonder if she would be interested in a body transformation show. She could make the decision to become morbidly obese and talk about her 600 lb. life.

I like that shown (600 pound life). It's the only thing on TLC that I do watch. However, I close my eyes during their nekkid bathing segments! Dr Now is gruff, but tells it like it is. I don't think he takes excuses or fake tears or sobbing from anyone. He's very cool.
"Well, Mama June (Honey Boo Boo's mother) has allegedly scored a docuseries on WE-TV, chronicling her body transformation"
Too bad Kate's already got fake boobs. She could have a TV show where Steve helps her pick the size.
Of course I don't doubt Kate would want cameras to film them forever but what I meant to say is, when the tups turn 18 as well and probably no kid wants to film anymore, she won't care. No filming=they can all go to Jon's or wherever the hell they want, out of Kate's sight.
----
I would certainly think that by that time some of them would be in college, and she's not going to pull them out of there for filming. It must stop sometime, right?
Well, Mama June (Honey Boo Boo's mother) has allegedly scored a docuseries on WE-TV, chronicling her body transformation.

I just watched Charity's Story. I have never seen that much weight on anyone. The physician had to tie off 600 plus blood vessels before he could do skin removal surgery. Watching a new Kristen's Story now. The interesing thing about this show is that their parents, siblings, friends, are all morbidly obese enablers who have become caregivers, and they do nothing about their own weight but criticize the subject's weight.

Not sure who they mean. Sockie and nochance are nonfans.
Wonder if filming will go on during spring breaks. Not sure what grade twins are in but that's a very popular time of year to go on college tours. And both girls might want to visit schools far apart. If TLC isn't paying and filming, will they get to travel to schools?
Could this be a new TLC show? A come-to-Jesus moment and a judge's pardon?
"Ever since the first big Duggar sex scandal when the family's eldest son Josh admitted to molesting young girls, including some of his sisters, the family has been as public as it used to be. Sure, Jill and Jessa got their spinoff series, but compared to the Duggars' glory days, they're just not seen the same way they used to be. That can only be a good thing, because the Duggar family just threw an engagement party for their live-in tutor and her convicted sex offender fiancé. The Duggars' tutor, 31-year-old Tabitha Paine, just got engaged to 46-year-old Timothy Robertson, who was convicted of anally raping his roommate in 1999. Court documents say that Robertson walked into his roommate's room where she "was laying face down on her bed, placed himself on top of her and made penis penetration into her anus without her consent." Robertson was convicted of third-degree criminal sexual conduct and sentenced to three years in prison. A judge, however, suspended his prison sentence instead ordering him to a year of probation and a spot on the sex offender registry.
Robertson, however, has always maintained his innocence, and in 2008, he was pardoned for his crime and removed from the registry.
"I was given advice from a very good attorney to take a plea bargain which would put me on a registry for sex offenders. I was afraid of prison so I took his advice. I never spent one day in jail but had a record," Robertson wrote on Facebook, where he told his side of the story.
He continued to say that in 2003, "God began to deal with me about my eternal soul," and after years of "drinking, drugs and partying," he started to go to church.
Five people from his church and his pastor wrote character letters to the judge who eventually pardoned Robertson. When asked about the scandal, he told In Touch, "I love my fiancée. And I think the Duggars are a fabulous family. That’s all I need to put out there."
I've watched that 600 pound show a few times and also noticed that the family or caregivers are usually obese as well. What I can't understand is how people get to 600 pound plus before they seek help. Surely they don't reach that weight overnight. How about seeking help through dieting and exercise when they reach maybe 50 pounds or so over their ideal weight (better still even sooner than that).
bm
Does anyone know anything about this? I can't find anything online.

@Kateplusmy8 In Touch has an article this week that says the gag order is about to be lifted! It's gonna get REAL interesting now! #GoJon !
Go King seems to know Jon. I've read in the past and she is someone who has supported him for years.
If the lifting of the gag order is fixing to come into play, it will be interesting, indeed.
Sheri, what I got out of the article about the books from Dolly is your community has to work together and have a commitment from the community in order to get them. OTOH, I know several people that receive them for their kids but don't know if they are getting through their community or straight from the imagination library.
On a decorating show today, they made over a special needs school that has a sensory room . It was incredible of the donations and how the kids loved the room. They were making food with play food and now they can make real food with all of the new appliances they got.
With all of the sensory things, I couldn't help but think about Collin and how he was doing today.
Do you know why TFW was so giddy over the bestest, birthday party ever for the tups?
Did have to deal with Collin.
Didn't faze TLC or Figure 8 at all to film a missing child from a set of septuplets for their birthday.
EVERYTHING was paid for.
Another 60 minutes on teevee.
Another 40k check to deposit into the bank, cha-ching!
"The Duggars' tutor, 31-year-old Tabitha Paine, just got engaged to 46-year-old Timothy Robertson, who was convicted of anally raping his roommate in 1999."
Besides the Duggar connection, there's a connection to the Bates show that comes on the Up channel. The Bates are a family with 19 children. Tabitha's brother is married to one of the Bates' daughters.

Apparently they can't because most of them have issues that cause them to use food for comfort. It's a vicious cycle for them. The more they eat, the more depressed they become, so they eat in order to feel good for the moment. Food is always available to them, thanks to the enablers who are food addicts themselves.
So many of them have been obese since childhood and were victims of abuse or molestation and food intake was the only thing they could control. If they are not making progress after bypass surgery, the physician insists on treatment by a therapist.
Their stories are interesting. I'm surprised TLC relates their experiences so well. It's a sensitive issue for these people.
Typical smoke and mirrors.
Saying that Brownie is a teacher implies the kids know her through school, when she is actually another fan Kate has allowed into their inner fold.
****************
It implies nothing of the sort. You are seriously stretching to find things to criticize.
&&&
I actually tend to agree with the original poster that it was a glaring omission to leave out the fact that the teacher is actually just an obsessed fan she met on twitter, and then emphasizing she is an educator does indeed imply you probably met through proper channels like the school system. That's simply not the case.
Now, Kate might not mention the Twitter thing simply because she doesn't want all fans getting the idea if you pony up to her enough suddenly you're BFF's in real life. Who knows. But, in all fairness she should have identified her as who she really is, an obsessed fan she met on twitter, and if she likes, a fan who happens to be a teacher.

&&&
That does seem to be one of many ways people with very grave emotional issues see them manifested.
Unfortunately it's a way that is so visible, unlike the many other ways people deal with similar issues that are more socially glossed over. For instance, some people cope the opposite with emotional issues by NOT eating enough. That is praised, because they are skinny. What a world.
&&&&
This is really outrageous. This entire family seems to have very serious issues with just not GETTING IT. This kind of environment fosters child abuse and an overall failure to protect children, pure and simple. But it's all lies, none of it is true, there is some explanation for everything.
Pre-reality show, Whitney was known for her You Tube dancing videos - the story was that the weight was due to PCOS but...she dances! She loves her body! Fat & fabulous & no shame! The reality show makes it pretty clear that her food choices contribute to her weight. I have to wonder if on some level she keeps the weight on because it's integral to her celebrity persona. On the other hand, I find 'My 600 lb Life' facinating. Almost all tell the doctor that they don't eat that much - but the doctor points out they have to eat 10,000 calories a day to maintain 600 lbs. It has made me more aware of my attitude about food, portion control & dieting. Yeah, learning something positive from a TLC show...go figure.
I watch the 600 lb life show sometimes. I think they should stop showing each one naked. They shouldn't have to give up that little bit of dignity. I don't know how you get to be 600 lbs without getting help. I do know how easy it is to get 50 pounds overweight. But most of these people seem to have few resources. They don't have money for therapy (and often believe therapy is bad), they know nothing about nutrition, the affordable food is fattening, the rate of past abuse is awful. My 50 pounds makes me feel I am just a step away from their size.
Corrections.
I meant to say that TFW didn't have to deal with C. while filming.
Since Barnum and Bailey is finally calling it quits after all theses years, maybe there is hope for the Gosselin Circus to shut down.

On a recent episode I saw on YouTube, Kate said she doesn't have ideas for meals anymore and the kids don't like everything she makes. She was making stuffed pepper and mashed potatoes, and it looked like there was plenty left. Maybe she re-read her own book.

Goodness sake. This Vegemite kick she's on is ridiculous. I guess it's to prove her kids have learned to appreciate foods from a country they visited. (See how the show has broadened their palates! The Vegemite that Amazon sells actually comes from a wholesale distributor in the UK, Tora Foods. They apparently stock food items from around the world and ship worldwide.
So the Vegemite came from Australia, went to the UK, and then went to Kate's house. Amazon was just the middleman between the UK company and Kate.
Does that answer your question, which I hope I understood correctly?
I notice that in the latest Instagram (where the kids are up early, etc.), they are not wearing their school uniforms. Is this a school day? Or, do they change into their uniforms after breakfast so as not to soil them while eating?

Tucker's Mom (#155), TFW informed us Alexis had to bring it to school. So then why was it on the table? Besides the boys, I bet A is on the shortest leash in that house. I don't imagine she's allowed to "accidentally" leave anything anywhere, under penalty of severeness.
Maybe A's assignment was to bring in the last book her mother read?

Go King seems to know Jon.
))))))))))))))
I don't believe that she is local,. so I don't know how she would know him, at least not personally. Perhaps she tweeted with him, but as far as meeting him, knowing him, I seriously doubt it, and I don't think that he would reveal anything about a custody issue to an unknown who would tweet about it or leak it to the tabs.
Formerly Duped (#168), your comment reminded me that Valentine's Day is around the corner. Will TFW make heart-shaped sandwiches for her 7 remaining kids?
I remember the staged, scripted, fakery of a scavenger hunt when the tups were tiny,
and she hid a "tub of love" for them to find. Of course now we know every blessed moment was planned and plotted, bought and paid for by TLC. When TFW watches those old episodes, is there the slightest pang of remorse that her family has been shattered? I sincerely don't think there is.
Has Milo started to pester about the Super Bowl, wanting to know what they were doing, where they would watch it, what snacks they would have, if Vann the Mann would share the much-anticipated event with her and the kids, and of course, Gladys giving Kate a play-by-play crash course from the sidelines?
Okay so earlier today I saw a tweet from the G kids school and it was a retweet from Horizons program at their school.
One of the younger girls was in the photo. I'm not going to say which one, but I think it's obvious. The tweet and photo have since been removed. I guess Kate saw it and had them remove it.
The program is for "high-need" children.
Here's the program's description:
Horizons at [school name removed] is a public/private partnership offering a summer program that addresses the achievement and opportunity gaps of high-need children in the city of Lancaster. The heart of Horizons is an exemplary academic program that supports a cohort of students in reading, writing, math, and science, paired with swimming lessons, field trips, sports, and enrichment activities in music and the arts. The same students return each summer through eighth grade and receive support and special Saturday programming all year long.
These social media gag orders by judges have been popular in celebrity custody cases. However with Kate, she continues to use her Twitter and Instagram to gaslight and portray herself as a doting mom of kids and dogs.
I truly hope Jon gets a break and gets more custody leverage. This situation has been so unfair to him. I don't believe Kate can possibly prevail this time with her making unfounded and false charges, publicly and criminally, against Jon and not consulting with him prior to confining Collin. Her incapability of co-parenting and restricting visitation should be punished. I truly believe her goal has been to bankrupt Jon through his need for attorneys to battle her. I hope the judge has had enough.
If People posting two of Kate's recent IG photos with their links was supposed to bring a big bonanza of new gawkers, it was an epic fail. Average amount of likes, no bump in followers. Hey TLC, are you reading the tea leaves?
It's 6 years old, but still relevant today. lol!
Starts at 1:40 about Kate and Steve strolling on the beach.

If she is trying to stop the gag order, doesn't she realize that it is a losing battle? You can't keep a gag order forever, dear FW.
Just wasting the kids money at this point.

I think she added the cookbook into the mix to try to sell some before the Apocalypse hits.
Strange she used Alexis in the promoting of the book.
CC, I'm confused. The Horizons program is for low income children who are able to receive academic and social support over the summer at various schools and locations. Their school is one of those participating in this wonderful program. Is one of the kids enrolled or are they assisting in some way?
CC, you must be mistaken. I read Horizons is for First graders.
http://people.com/food/kate-gosselin-kids-vegemite/?xid=socialflow_twitter_peoplemag
How pathetic. Kate begs for freebies and not only gets them, but manages to get a blurb on People online.
The pimping of the kids never stops.
The really pathetic thing is that if the kids BEG for Vegemite, why does't Kate use the money the kids made, and get it for them?
Those kids are going to grow up and see just how much of their mother's motivation when it came to them, was fame, money, freebies and attention.
"Oh, golly, I wasn't asking you to send Vegemite!! Really!!"
Oh, yes you were....
The program is for "high-need" children.

I will bet Kate flipped her lid when she saw her child in that photo. My, my, oh my. That doesn't fit her narrative!

Who We Serve
Low-income, public school kids in Lancaster
Our students are low-income public school students from the School District of Lancaster. Our Horizons families commit to being a part of the program year after year. About summer learning loss
Each summer, many children experience some learning loss. However, the “summer slide” disproportionately affects low-income children who may not have the opportunities for formal and informal summer learning at home. These kids fall behind by 2-3 months each summer beginning in Kindergarten while their more affluent peers surge ahead by 2-3 months with opportunities for summer camps, extra tutoring, and educational trips. By the fifth grade, summer learning loss can account for more than two years of the achievement gap between low-income children and their more affluent peers.
WTH. Isn't Horizons for low income children?
Does anyone know Brownie's real name? I wanted to look up her books. Thanks.
So if true, and I assume you are talking about a particular girl tup, how the hell did Kate get her in this program for low come kids? This infuriates me because her kid is taking the spot of a low income kid that really needs the help. Kate can afford to privately take care of her child's additional educational needs with a tutor or other programs.
I am definitely not mistaken. She was in the photo with another child. Smiling and looking right at the camera. It was a close up of their faces.
I didn't take a screenshot or retweet it because I had no intention of posting it anywhere. If I had it I still wouldn't post it. But I wish I could remember what the caption (tweet) stated. I think they were doing a project or showing a project they worked on.
It was most definitely her.
I think the sentence that said First graders was a caption for first graders in a picture on their website.
You are correct. The program can last up to 12th grade.

kateplusmy8Thank you ...ALL of my Australian friends for all of your offers to send us our favorite Australian foods! Awww true to form, each and every one of you: kind, giving and truly 'no worries'! I wasn't asking you to send us stuff.. But truly, just seeing your offers reminded me of yet another reason why I love the land down under!

No need, not need, but notice how she never actually explicity tells them DON'T send them stuff. She doesn't really want to close that door.
God, she's so greedy, and totally shameless. Allow good people to send her food when they could be giving it to charity. Unbelievable.
I find the Horizons thing hard to believe simply because if any of her children is enrolled, that is a major inconvenience for her. Drop-off/pick-up every day? When Lazybones wants to sleep in? Although I guess if she reserves the right to pull the kid whenever she needs to film, she might see it as a way to get said kid out of her hair. And maybe this is why a full-time nanny/helper always seems to be needed, to be the chauffeur.
As usual, perplexing.
CC, good job spotting that. I believe it now.
I do not begrudge anyone getting additional academic help, just that in no way should she be in a program to help LOW INCOME students. The only way I can see it is if Kate made a big, fat donation to Horizons National. Kate has always worked the system.
Sue, it's Michelle Kemper Brownlow.
On their Twitter Horizons has links.
I found this:
"Horizons at (school name) was awarded $4,000 for its Horizons Health and Wellness Initiatives, which provides early childhood intervention, summer enrichment, and year-round support for children in kindergarten through eighth grade and their families through learning and enrichment for low-income public school children when school is not in session."
So it says year-round support. And it's through eight grade at their school.
I'm sorry but I don't know any more. I just know it was DEFINITELY her in the photo.
Maybe the program in the summer is for low-income. I can't see her being allowed to do that in the summer anyway. They have filming.
I think maybe she is in the "year-round" support program. It did describe it as for high-needs children.
Just the fact that the tweet and photo has been removed tells you that it was her. Who else would have their photo removed? She looked so proud too.

Yeah, that's really noticeable. All she needs to say is, I cannot accept any gifts, please don't send anything. But she never does. Instead she tap-dances around the issue. If she's that desperate for product straight from Australia/NZ, why can't Steve hit up his family for a donation?

According to the brochure, a donation of $2800 supports one child for the full 6 week program during the summer. Did TFW pay this to get her child in the program? That's my question.

I believe CC saw what she saw, and while it's true Kate probably doesn't want to bother with all this extra intervention, she might have no choice if the school said she has to either comply with the program or they'll kick the child out of their school. They're a private school, they can kick a kid out whenever they like. They don't HAVE to work with the family if they don't want to.
This also brings up another point. If it includes Saturday intervention, and we often see the marker reveals they are filming couch interviews on SUNDAYS, that means that on those weeks the poor kid never gets a day off. Wtf!
