Kate again emphasizes they came in late last night. We were all shaking our heads to realize they filmed the space camp footage and traveled a six hour drive to the beach house all in the same day. What reason would she have to lie about that? Wouldn't she lie and say the opposite, that they filmed it over several days, so as not to give the appearance of over-working the kids? We had a discussion on the blog about this show's budget, and all signs are suggesting it's been slashed dramatically. From having to film everything in just a day or two, to hauling in their own food from grocery stores instead of eating out, to now, vacationing in the deep South in the dead of summer, when prices tend to hit rock bottom because it's so hot and muggy. God bless Alabama, but it's not so comfortable in August.
There's an aerial shot of the beach house, and it's huge. It's a mansion, with a big dock right along a beautiful inlet. In the background, you can see the city just a hop, skip and a jump away. And this after Kate claimed the house was in the middle of nowhere so they had to bring all their own food in. No they're not.
They're about to go parasailing, and Kate demands they all finish up lunch quickly or she "might ask the man to let the strings go." I'm all for having a sense of humor with your kids, but why is Kate constantly teasing about things that could either kill or cause great bodily harm to her children? It's truly creepy, no joke.
Those "girls" of Kate's, oy! Put them away, especially in the kitchen. Is this a brothel or summer vacation?
The parasailing instructor Ike introduces his crew but gets bored when Kate tries to introduce herself and instead he just keeps giving directions, cutting her off. Heh, I have a funny feeling he really doesn't care who she is or what this filming is all about, this is just another customer to keep safe and provide a good experience to and on to the next one. He will soon go the way to the river raft man, I feel this one coming.
Oddly, there is no discussion of seasickness this time. We have to have the conversation on every other boat ride, what gives? The three youngest girls whoosh up first, and love it. Everyone is shocked how high they go up when parasailing, including me. 450 feet?! Yowser. Okay, I'll give Kate a pass here on not liking this. This is way too much like skydiving, only even worse, there's no instructor with you and the harnesses look really flimsy. The boys and the twins take a crack at it, too. You guessed it, this was fun.
A long discussion from Kate about how she didn't want to be pressured into doing this. What dramatics. I didn't see anyone pressuring her. It's no skin off Ike's back whether she goes or not and the kids don't care. In fact most kids wouldn't care what mom does or doesn't do. It's all about them at this age. The kids were enjoying their own fun on this ride, and telling her all about it, and if she wants to do it fine, if she doesn't, it's not their problem. This actually is part of her narcissism, that she thinks anyone gives a damn what she wants to do with herself. Nobody does. Heh, I like the flashback to the New Zealand bungie jumping, where Brad pushes her off the ledge. One of the few flashbacks they should just keep playing over and over. Ike is finally like well are you going or not, decide now. That's right, it's really freaking annoying when someone is holding up the group with their indecisiveness. Oh good Lord, she's crying now. Ike is like, okay, nope abort. Seriously! I love that he's not putting up with her shenanigans. Either jump in the deep end or not, but if not, get off the damn diving board so everyone else can carry on with their fun.
Of course Kate refuses to abort because at the end of the day she knows good and damn well she will do this, that this is all for maximum show and attention and making sure this is all about her. She demands Ike only send her up a few feet. Once again in an effort to make herself feel better, she's made the ride more precarious. Common sense suggests that's terribly unsafe. You wouldn't get as much wind in the sail that way, and if anything goes wrong, there's absolutely no room to correct it before you slam face first into the back of the boat. Idiot. Nope, that's not how it works, is essentially Ike's response.
Kate eventually gets on the ride, with the obligatory screaming and screeching and parentified Aaden and Cara going up with her to comfort her. Kate remarks once again that it was not being able to swim that was one of the things bothering her. Good God, then get some swimming lessons for the love of holy heck and then that fear will be solved. Holy moly. And by the way, from that height, not being able to swim is not going to be the problem if anything does malfunction. I mean, you're dead from 450 feet if it failed. Is she dumb, or just stupid? By the way, in some brief googling about parasailing accidents, I found that the Federal Aviation Administration has regulated parasailing to 400 feet maximum. So, was Ike exaggerating when he said they would go up 450, or breaking the law? Hm.
Let me be clear here, there's nothing wrong with not liking parasailing. I'll admit it, I would never do this and do not feel unfulfilled for not doing so. About on average one death every 1-2 years doing this is enough for me to say no thanks. But to cause all this drama is uncalled for.
You know, the kids were having fun. A blast. They loved seeing the sites from up high and no one was fighting or bickering, or feeling sick to their stomach, or upset. Doofus ruined a rare pleasant outing. And I think a huge part of her disturbing psychology is that she can't help but ruin it. One, because she's petrified it won't be good footage because calmness in her mind is boring to viewers. And two, she can't help but want the attention all on her. Quite the opposite, I enjoyed seeing the kids relaxed like this, it was good to see them have a moment where everything was working out. It only got obnoxious when the plot turned to her freak out.
Kate does a weird nervous slithering snake thing with her tongue on the ride. The twins make fun of it. It's almost like a tick, which may be just a tiny clue into the chemistry of her brain. That's something a six-year-old would do when they are stressed, not a mature adult woman who has control of herself. If you don't believe something is very wrong with her upstairs, I don't know what to tell you.
Heh, they do a private interview with Ike once back on shore, who calls Kate a basket case. He should have let her strings go, eh?! I expect about five years from now Kate will be trashing him just like she did the rafting instructor from five years ago, because that's how this woman rolls.
The next "day" (I'm keeping track of the days now, it's got my attention), they go on a segway tour. Joel's segway won't go fast, to which Cara calls him "stupid." Um, no, he's not stupid. His segway wouldn't go fast because it was on "beginner" mode. It had nothing to do with Joel. These kids always jump to the most cutting, nasty remarks about each other, and often it's completely unjustified. One of the instructors fixes it for him and he starts going at normal speeds, no big deal and no cause for cutting him down, Cara.
They were "naturing along" on the segways and it started to rain. Naturing??
It's a little hard to tell what's going on next amid all the whining, but it certainly appears that Mady and Kate are ready to make the whole group call it quits because of the sprinkle that's messing up their hair. Many of the other kids are very distraught at the idea of cutting this short, as they should be. What the hell? It's not pouring nor do I see any lightning which would make this unsafe, and once again, it's hella rude to quit a group activity when so many other people would like to continue, not to mention the instructors who made great efforts to set this up nice for you. And probably, are doing so with the understanding built into this that filming will include some free promotion. Therefore, quitting early is even more not cool in this scenario. Same as what they did on the horseback ride in the Poconos! Just quit!
I'm well aware Mady is just a child, but she is extremely selfish and spoiled, and I have never once heard Kate tell her she is being selfish and spoiled, to knock it off, get back on her segway, and suck it the F up, as she should as the parent. In fact in this case, Kate backed her up! What?! The instructor wants to know if these kids always complain this much. I'll answer: yes. Kate doesn't seem at all embarrassed a perfect stranger has within minutes pegged her kids as massive bellyachers. She should be mortified they are behaving this way in public, or at all.
Kate gets mad when Lex stops in the middle of the path, and blames Lex for almost making her crash. No, Doofus, you need to pay attention to what's in front of you and be ready to stop if you need to. I wonder how many cars she's rear-ended in her lifetime. I'm guessing a lot. And it was their fault too they stopped you told the cops, right?
Kate refuses to turn the speed up on her machine, yet is complaining (after that guy just told them they complain too much) that kids are darting in front of her on the road. Cara explains that the reason everyone is darting in front of her is indeed because she's going too darn slow. Well, that makes sense.
"I'm so tired of getting picked on about everything I do, just leave me be!" says 12-year-old doofus here.
Sigh. You weren't being "picked on," Kate. You were being called out, correctly so, for being obnoxious on a fun activity. Same with the parasailing; if you can't keep up, sit it out. But don't insist on doing something you really aren't mentally prepared for, and then spoil everyone else's fun. It's refreshing to see the kids call her out now that they're older, yet at the same time, I'm really sorry that their lives have to involve calling out their raging lunatic of a mother so much. It looks stressful.
It's their last day. So, I clocked the beach portion of the trip at three full days, plus their one full day at space camp, for a grand total of four full days on the trip to make two episodes, not counting flying days. Wow. What is the point to travel this far for less than a week?! These kids must be absolutely beat.
Kate makes half full coffee cups of oatmeal with a few drops of liquid brown sugar, and a third of a small cup of orange juice, which is not nearly enough food for kids this age, period, especially those about to do a very physical activity. We watch her pour the oatmeal into the pot and can see how little she puts in for eight people. Thankfully there are a few big croissants floating around, but it's unclear how much they each got to eat of each of them. An airy croissant is not going to fill a kid up either unless they eat a lot of them. I never hear the kids complain they're hungry, I wonder if they've just accepted the dainty portion sizes. So many of them seem irritable all the time, one really has to wonder if it's because they're getting hungry within a few hours of eating. Once conditioned to under eat for so long, they might not recognize and connect their irritability to their hunger. I think I was one of the bloggers here in the past to ere on the side of concerns about their food intake are probably overblown, but I've been rethinking it lately. The undersized portions are much more noticeable now and much more concerning now that they are older and need to eat more. Almost all the kids are thin, and I daresay a lot of them have a dull look to their skin (or bad skin in general) and hair which can be a strong indication they're not filling up on all those yummy calories a 12-year-old craves or drinking enough. Another thing to note is that everyone got the same exact portions. With eight kids, there's going to be some kids who are eating more than others. It's unlikely they all need exactly the same amount. For instance, at this age the boys and the twins should be starting to have appetites that pull away from the younger sisters. In some cases, a 12-year-old boy will want to eat nearly double what the girls are eating. In any case, nothing starts a day off terribly than not getting enough to eat and drink.
The kids take over this big floating trampoline thing in the middle of the water. Huh, is that theirs to use? And who is lifeguarding this when Kate can't swim? Incredibly dangerous. Oh, and by the way, once again she won't let them dish up the amount of oatmeal and brown sugar they would like. She has to portion it out for them like they're in a nursing home. It would have been nice to just stay at a hotel with a breakfast buffet and let them fill up their own trays, full of as much waffles, yogurt, eggs and biscuits 'n' sausage gravy they want. And a tall glass of juice.
At some point Mady loses phone privileges because she pushed Kate's kayak away. Huh, what? Kate has an absolute meltdown over who even knows what. Kate is convinced this was an intermediate kayaking trip. Not in the slightest! It was a flat little inlet. Baby to beginner at best. What is she even talking about? Not really relaxing though, right under a freeway overpass. Heh, drowns Kate out though.
The instructor finally gives up and tethers his kayak to Kate, towing her back. What a dolt.
Heh, the instructor jokes that they have four miles left. Well, he'll go the way of Brad and river man in short order.
The way Kate angrily grits her teeth and says "Hannah, stop paddling!" was flipping scary. It's the tone of voice nasty parents use right before they yank their child's ear two feet up. In all seriousness, there are a lot of red flags present that this woman still harbors a very, very serious anger management problem. If she can't even keep it together while on camera, it is frightening to imagine what her limits are off camera. (Here are some of the tell-tale signs of an anger issue and Kate pretty much displays all of them just in this one episode: Criticizing, belittling, putting down, lack of patience, irritability and short temper, blaming everyone and everything else, people avoid you, people feel like they're walking on eggshells around you, and so on.)
Well this is sad. The instructor in his private interview said he had intended to take the group out to collect some trash and do a mini environmental clean-up, but he had to scratch that plan. Good job ruining everything, Kate. Again.
The vacation comes to an abrupt end and now we start the completely unrelated storyline of training the puppies. Naturally they get private one-on-one training with professional dog trainers, which is exorbitantly expensive. Kate spends a long time explaining how much of a crazy dog lady Kate is, with little to no clips to really back that up. I mostly get the impression the dogs to her are, depending on the day, a mild inconvenience to up to a total nuisance. Meanwhile when the dog trainer lady comes in, I know instantly she's a sincere dog lover without her just talking about it, as she greets the dogs down at their level in that baby voice true dog lovers use to speak to their dogs: "Who's a booo-tiful girl, yes yoo are!"
Kate? That's a crazy dog lady. Not you.
The dog lady is using clicker training? That's going to be way too complicated for this family. You guessed it, right out of the gate Kate is arguing with the trainers. What a pest she is.
Cara's picking lint again as Mady is explaining what is at the end of the day pretty boring.
I do like the trainer's firm emphasis on positive training. She believes in never punishing the dog at all, which is what I believe, too, mostly because I believe it is the most humane, but also because it just works better. Kate desperately needs this kind of training in parenting teens, I'm serious. She would really benefit from some one-on-one parenting training, I really think it would make everyone all around happier if she used some other technique, any other technique, other than being such an obnoxious nag yelling at them all the time. Click, Kate. Click click!
Kate says she has to say "come" 500 times. That's what she said.
The kids are having fun during all this, wrestling a bit, and there's Kate yelling and hollering at them again and making snide, unfunny remarks. She doesn't see the irony in all this emphasis on positive reinforcement, as she's being nothing but negative to the kids.
She thinks her joke about how the kids need children training is so funny she says it twice to the trainer and yet another time on the couch. I get a kick out of it when she gets so proud of herself for coming up with the most minimally clever dumb lines. Heh. In any case, no, Kate. The children are fine. They are children. You are the one who needs intensive, one-on-one parenting instruction. It's you.
Oh stop the presses, at age six months, someone is actually teaching these dogs how to walk on a leash. My God. Hint, put your dog on a leash and get them used to it the moment you bring them home and you won't have such an issue with a dog who looks nearly full grown looking at a leash like a confused child stumped by a math problem. That's pretty damning evidence these dogs have never been walked before in their lives. Another huge reason they are poorly behaved. It is not enough to just let a dog run around a big yard, they must be actually walked by an owner, on a leash. There are numerous articles all over the internet explaining why if you're interested in knowing more about that.
Next up, Sweet 16 for the twins. I kind of question whether a kid who picks lint on the couch the whole time during these episodes really wants her birthday party filmed. Sixteen, whew. Digest that for a second, the twins are sixteen and still being filmed. For the record, we first met them when they looked like this. That's them in between their parents:
Sixteen candles, Kate remarks. Heh, a poor man's Molly Ringwald.
See you next time.

I think asking people why they're not outraged over something many of us don't even watch is unfair. I don't watch that show and I'm not sure I even know who that guy is. But if it was anything like what Jon did yes I'm outraged, okay? I just don't know what's going on with that to be able to comment much. Sheesh.
Admin--you've posted the following comments re Jon:

How does this have anything to do with politics? Huh??? No one wants to talk about it, so stop.
Here is an interview Jon did with a local AC reporter, Whitney Ullman; I think she has interviewed him before when he DJ's at the Pool After Dark. This was done before the show on Saturday. Now he says he is looking at reality shows (paraprashing here) (where before he was saying scripted shows).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1aYjhlcJo6Y&feature=youtu.be
I didn't think Kate is a Twit's comment had to do with "politics" as much as it has to do with a famous dad embarrassing his kid(s). Acting, reality TV, politics. All public figures.
And I personally don't think of the court system as something that works. I mean yeah it works sometimes. And sometimes it doesn't.
&&&&&
It can't usually come up with ideal solutions in family law cases because you can't cut a child in half. It's the nature of the beast. The problem here seems to be though less with the court orders themselves, which clearly give Jon plenty of regular access to all eight of his children, and more with a parent who isn't willing or is unable to take the steps to enforce them. We don't know exactly why that is, but at this point, it's hard to imagine he doesn't bear some fault for it. My best speculation is that he, reasonably, originally let it go to give them a cooling off period and not push them, and it grew to become an out of control thing that is difficult to make right again.
Frankly, I think it's disgraceful that some police departments shy away from enforcing court orders. That's their job, and the court system depends on them to be the ENFORCEMENT behind the order. If they don't, orders become just a piece of paper, and that REALLY makes us a kangaroo court. We don't have a problem where I live with the sheriff and LAPD coming right on over and enforcing our orders, thankfully. I've never experienced a cop saying they wouldn't. And it helps make things like custody orders, restraining orders and the like have teeth and work to protect children and ensure peace.
And if one lives in such a wet noodle jurisdiction, I highly encourage you to request a meeting with or write to your local police commissioner or board of supervisors and complain. You may even want to involve your state politicians, if need be. It's not okay for police to turn their backs on their citizens when the court of law has already given its orders.
Now, I'm not saying they should SETTLE disputes. But if someone has a valid order saying this needs to happen at this time, it's their duty to help you make it happen.
What's really scary is that sometimes custody orders are made because a parent is dangerous and should not have unfettered access to their child. It's very concerning to me that a parent who is maybe only supposed to have their child monitored for a few hours a week could get away with not following the order because, eh, the police don't get involved in those kinds of disputes. That is scary.

Trump also "demeans and degrades women" with his vile and nasty comments.

And he's even more of a narcissist than Kate

Well right, but we haven't been talking about politicians as PARENTS when we've been discussing politics here.
If Jon wants to run for president, that's a totally different conversation for me, and THEN I really don't care that he made some dumb stripping prank and is still lying about it, or got mad at a few reporters. Who cares? But we're not talking about him in that context, so that kind of comparison absolutely baffles me.
By all accounts, both Hillary and Trump are known to be very good parents and grandparents. All their children say so. So, I really don't have any reason to think otherwise. I wasn't judging the candidates on their parenting skills or whether they have embarrassed their children. That's not something I factor in at the polls, and if that's a criteria for you, good luck with that because all politicians are going to embarrass their kids.
If we want to have a separate conversation about politicians embarrassing your children, we can start with Obama's turkey pardon and how mortified his girls were. It is what it is. But, I expect someone taking on such a higher calling to have thought about with their spouse whether they are willing to be continually embarrassed like that, because they WILL be, to take on this important job. That's not my call and neither is it yours.
Trump also "demeans and degrades women" with his vile and nasty comments.
&&&
Yeah well so did Clinton when he raped that woman and then Hillary helped him sweep it under the rug, SO, yeah, that kinda cancels things out doesn't it?
My god, I have never, ever, ever seen such a bunch of sorry sore losers. I was over Obama winning within a day or two. Will they EVER move on? He won, you lost. Figure out what you did wrong (hint, nobody liked her) and go back to the drawing board. But get it off here, posters have made it clear they are done talking about it. Let's have a little respect for that.
And I personally don't think of the court system as something that works. I mean yeah it works sometimes. And sometimes it doesn't.
&&&&
It is structured to have winners and losers, and if you win, you think it worked quite well actually. If you lose, you will probably think it worked not so well. Go look at how many other countries settle disputes. Our system is far superior.
The problem with the police going out on custody disputes is people like Kate and that horrible Betty Brodrick, call the police constantly and the charges are often trumped up, e.g. Kate's accusation of inappropriate behavior of Jon with one of the children. Often vindictive, battling parents make incessant calls to the police, perhaps taking them away from more important calls. And manpower becomes an issue if the cops are going out to battling exs time after time.
I'm not seeing any negative media about having a sexy male revue routine on DWTS. Maybe it's a lot more mainstream, and socially acceptable than stripping.
&&&&
I don't think the media is going to be outraged, so you can save your breath there. Due in part to Magic Mike, these kind of dances have become more popular.
Like I said, I didn't watch DWTS and to be honest I really am not interested in watching it, I don't care. But you're making a classic argument fallacy called confusing the issues. Person A says apples are disgusting. Person B says but what about oranges you didn't say anything about oranges, if you hate apples how can you love oranges?
Um, person A never SAID they loved oranges. They weren't talking about oranges at all.
Point being, we weren't talking about whatever the hell happened on DWTS. We were talking about what Jon did. If something happened on DWTS that was inappropriate, of course I'm not supportive of it. I'm just not really paying attention to it. I'd exhaust myself being outraged at all the parents out there that strip or threaten to strip or what have you. Doesn't mean I think it's OKAY. All that said, Jon IS held to a slightly higher standard because his kids are in the public eye. Therefore when he does dumb stuff, there is a very good chance it invokes his kids. If some guy named Jake from Rosebush Lane got up after Jon and danced, I'm not nearly as worried about Jake's eight kids because nobody knows who they hell his kids are. They will go to school the next day and I bet no one could possibly know what Jake did.
When I worked for a celeb, frankly, no one knew their kids. They might recognize their baby photos but other than that they were virtually anonymous. (Unless of course we were OUT with celeb, then all of a sudden people connected the kids to them--even then most people didn't care) Plus, because their parents were mostly famous just among people their own age and not so much kids, even their friends didn't always even realize that Celeb Kid A and Celeb Kid B have famous parents. When things embarrassing happened regarding their parents, and they absolutely did (I'm thinking of one R rated film in particular that was somewhat upsetting to the kids), most friends never even noticed.
Jon's not that kind of celeb. His fame came FROM his kids. He's not just a celeb with kids you MIGHT recognize on a good day and maybe someone who really troll TMZ hard knows their names if they snap their fingers. This is so different. It creates a much higher risk they could be hurt by this. There's just no denying that and no comparison to some normal celeb.
ALL celebs should be aware of their kids when they make choices, but the nature of how Jon ended up where he is now means he has to be extra alert. Yeah, I'm sure that stinks and I'm sure he wished that wasn't the case. It's just how it is.
Now, I'm not saying they should SETTLE disputes. But if someone has a valid order saying this needs to happen at this time, it's their duty to help you make it happen.
*******
What makes me hinky about the notion that the local police have shirked their duty in helping Jon is that we're talking about the Gosselins here.
The local police have gone WELL beyond their duties when it's come to Jon and Kate.
I was gobsmacked to read in Robert's book, that the local police aided and assisted Jon and Kate on an ongoing basis, assigning and allotting a hefty amount of resources which certainly, undoubtedly pulled resources from other places where police were needed.
Kate was escorted personally times too numerous to mention, AROUND THE CLOCK, at all times of the day and night.
Various jurisdictions and even State Police escorted her through out the state of PA, at break neck speeds.
Police were routinely dispatched to the compound to direct traffic and make sure the throngs of paps and idiot fans were under control and obeying the law.
Police came to the compound immediately when Kate tried to break the law and enter the compound during Jon's custody time, for no reason other than her "mother's instinct".
There is a documented history of the police dropping everything to tend to the needs of the Gosselins, so the notion that Jon would call them-many whom he knows from years of them working closely to manage their celebrity bullshit-and they would tell him to basically stop wasting their time, they've got bigger fish to fry, rings hard to believe.
Admin,
Just to be clear... I don't give a rat's ass about Hillary. Or Obama. Or politics.
I was talking about public figure dads embarrassing their kids publicly. I thought that was what the discussion was about Jon. Politician or not.
Trump was actually in reality tv. He's an ex reality TV star, as is Jon. If Jon's current non-reality tv career as a DJ is up for discussion when it comes to embarrassing his kids, why isn't Trump's?
Maybe I'm not understanding your point.
So if Jon runs for president and embarrasses his kids publicly it's not as big a deal as him embarrassing them now as a DJ? To whom? You or the kids? I thought this was about the kids being embarrassed.
You seemed to have stopped supporting Jon, or at minimum giving him a hard time, based on his public embarrassment to his children. I guess Kate is a Twit thought it applicablle to your support of Trump. I don't think it's that far fetched.
I get it. You like Trump's politics. Okay. But what if someone really likes how Jon spins that record? Can they give him a free pass for publicly embarrassing his kids based on that?
LOL at Turkeygate though!! I'm not sure that's in the same ballpark, but now that you bring it up maybe it makes a point. If kids are going to be mortified at something as silly as a turkey pardon does it matter what the parent actually does then? Stripping. Sexually harassing comments. Twitter tirades. Making a turkey joke. At what point do you stop taking your kids' possible embarrassment into consideration? And why would the answer be different for a politician than it would be for anyone else?
The problem with the police going out on custody disputes is people like Kate and that horrible Betty Brodrick, call the police constantly and the charges are often trumped up,
&&&
That's very true. It could be a case of a police department encountering a few extreme situations like that and realizing gosh we're going to really get ourselves into a time consuming mess, best to stay out of it. And i get that some departments have really limited resources. Of course I would rather they go assist with the car accident than enforce a family law order. But at the very least they could answer the calls but put them at low priority, so if something else comes up you may have to wait longer.
Like I said it's just concerning for me and for the state of these orders. Most cases with family law orders are CLOSED. It would be a huge hassle and somewhat of an expense to reopen it every time the stupid mother won't return the kids on time or what have you. It's faster and more effective to call the police and have them collect the kids. And once mom knows you'll f-ing do it, dollars to donuts she knocks it off and you never have problems again. But every time she gets away with it, she gets empowered.
I understand why police might shy away, but I also think they need to be aware that by making that choice they could very well be escalating and encouraging deranged behavior, which in turn can result in more crime not to mention emotional damage to their jurisdiction's children. So like I said if this is your jurisdiction, please let your police commissioner know you don't like it.
Admin,
Thanks for your insight on the police and custody enforcement.
I think it did mention online though police will enforce it if the parent is a physical danger to their child. Maybe a monitored custody issue would warrant enforcement. ???
I was talking about public figure dads embarrassing their kids publicly. I thought that was what the discussion was about Jon. Politician or not.

I see. Well that being the case:
I agree that:
Clinton has embarrassed Chelsea.
Obama has embarrassed Sasha and Melia.
Trump has embarrassed Baron and I'm sure all the other kids he has.
There is a lot of embarrassment going around the White House. It sure wouldn't be the place of choice for most parents. You gotta be a little nuts to expose your kids to that, but dads repeatedly have, to quite young kids lately indeed.
You seemed to have stopped supporting Jon, or at minimum giving him a hard time, based on his public embarrassment to his children. I guess Kate is a Twit thought it applicablle to your support of Trump. I don't think it's that far fetched.
&&&&
I don't know what it means to "support" Jon. I still like many of the things Jon has done, including that crucial few months during the divorce he made sure the kids were off TV, I have spoken to him directly several times, I think he's the better parent, and I think all the children should have a chance to have a healthy and normal relationship with him. I think he's a victim of parental alienation and that he really stepped into it having kids with Kate, and will forever pay. I think he probably hasn't used enough self help to get himself out of some of the pickles he gets in. Oh, and I think this stripping incident was DUMB AS F---.
Doesn't change other things I've supported about him. I don't judge people like that in blind support or blind recoil--I take each situation as it comes and look at each one as it comes individually, though always keeping in mind the bigger context.
I fail to see how this has ***anything**** to do with one's politics, whatsoever. Totally lost on that one.

Most cases with family law orders are CLOSED. It would be a huge hassle and somewhat of an expense to reopen it every time the stupid mother won't return the kids on time or what have you.
-------------
Yeah, I think that applies to Jon's case. Is it still considered open? Or wouldn't it be considered closed?
I agree the police should enforce it. But yeah I can see how people like Kate can make that difficult.
I think the police cooperated a lot during the height of Jon and Kate's fame. The show probably generated a lot of income for the county. TLC also was involved at that time.
Now it's just Jon trying to see his kids. I can't see the police putting up with enforcing custody every other week for all these years.

&&&&
That's the thing though the idea is they WON'T have to come out every week. The first week mom doesn't give him the kids, they come out, get the kids. For most people it will only take ONE visit from the cops to knock it off. Maybe a few, at most. If they had to go out and transact kids every single time on one case, it's time to get the courts to lock that parent up for contempt. With the all bark and no bite way Kate is, I'm guessing only one visit from the cops would put her little fanny right in line. Two tops.
It's possible his family law case is closed and yes it is a hassle to reopen it but in his case he has no choice.

The problem with the police going out on custody disputes is people like Kate and that horrible Betty Brodrick, call the police constantly and the charges are often trumped up,
. . . And i get that some departments have really limited resources. Of course I would rather they go assist with the car accident than enforce a family law order. But at the very least they could answer the calls but put them at low priority, so if something else comes up you may have to wait longer.
____
Seems like they responded speedily enough when Kate called them 3 times in 5 days to complain about the Hannah and Jon situation. Of course, she did intimate, in addition to the suggestion of inappropriateness and kidnapping, that he also might be carrying a weapon and coming to get her. In other words, she flung out every key word a police officer is trained to sit up and take note of. Even though every single one of 'em was false.
Maybe, if Jon ever did call the police to enforce a custody order, he just wasn't inclined to resort to the type of histrionic terms that bring immediate attention.

She wanted the cops to come out and knew exactly what she needed to say to get them there.

Go watch the interview with Jon in AC posted above. The convoluted journey to get his Bday at Dusk in AC took a lot of stamina, planning and contrivances just to basically have a party in a swanky place.
Why not just...have a party?
If you have to check with an attorney to plan your birthday celebration, maybe it's time to simplify your life.

It doesn't. That's like saying supporting or condemning Jon for his latest stripping stunt and embarrassing his kids has to do with his DJing abilities.
I don't think anyone was asking you about Trump's politics. It was about Trump himself and his public embarrassment of his child.

I ended up watching it and what struck me is as you said this was very planned, and that Jon took the reins when it came to how he was going to promote this. He even details how he want to InTouch and another venue to pitch the story.
There's nothing wrong with wanting to promote something especially when it's for charity, but then don't turn after the fact and say waa waa the media had it all wrong.
You had direct and consistent access to the media leading up to this and unlimited opportunities to get the story out there that you wanted. Why can't he just admit that he deliberately made a bait and switch? I find that more obnoxious than the stripping itself.
I don't think anyone was asking you about Trump's politics. It was about Trump himself and his public embarrassment of his child.

And I ***said*** Trump embarrasses his child. How could he not? So now I *really** don't get what the point is of that little somewhat creepy collection of my comments thrown back in my face. The heck?

LOL. But didn't you say it after the creepy collection of comments was posted? And throwing in Obama and Hillary made it seem like deflection. Comparing apples to oranges is one thing. Then you go and throw in some bananas and grapes. Actually, I hate the applies and oranges saying, and I'm rarely satisfied by that argument. I can go on and on about why, but I will spare you and all the others who are by now scrolling past all the "CC" posts. :) But I will say that in this scenario Trump is definitely the "orange."
I don't know... I guess in all the previous conversations we had awhile back you didn't show concern for his son's embarrassment when we were discussing the stuff he said about women etc. Or did you? I don't recall.
Besides, I think the blog historian has a way of getting quotes quite easily. I think the "collection" (of what two quotes?) was in this post so it wasn't like she went back years. LOL.
Okay I'm quite amused by all this back and forth today. Must be because I'm in a good mood. :)
Stop it with the "gotcha ya". Seriously. We were ALWAYS having political conversations about who you would vote for. We never once had a conversation about who you would pick to father or mother your child, and that's a fact. For that matter, I would never select any president to father my child, as I think anyone with that much ambition has to be messed up somehow.
Trying to wrestle in politics to this conversation as some kind of smoking gun gotcha is silly and pointless. And speaking of deflection, for that matter I think trying to turn this into a conversation about Trump when nobody was breathing even a hint about politics is just a way to deflect from Jon's incredibly idiotic choices this week and the inability to defend them. Two can play the deflection game.
On another note this week's Fued was another winner. Joan spent so much time and energy trying to sabotage Bette. Her degree of obsession is interesting. Much like Kate she saw it as a zero sum game. If Bette was getting something, she wasn't. When the reality is if Bette wins that helps everyone in the movie and raises the whole calabar of the movie. Joan would have benefited. People tried to reason with her, tried to help her see.
Well I know what Jon SHOULDN'T do! He shouldn't be playing silly little games with the media and planning his BEST EVER birthday. How's about he put those efforts into making a solid plan to reconcile with his children? He's only made things worse, I'm betting, with M and C.
&$$
He has to understand, when he goes into all his elaborate plans for how he staged this for the media, yet when it comes to his kids has this " I get who I get" attitude.... it just doesn't play well. He's clearly capable of hatching something complicated, orhestrating it, effectuating it. Yet can't figure out how to get a mother to follow a simple standard family law order? Come on.

Amen.
Also yes to your next comment too, funny how Jon can pull off some elaborate media scheme but somehow can't see his son for 3 years. To me, it's pretty clear where his priorities are.
Admin,
I'm guessing that "gotcha" comment was to someone else, not me?
Is it in reply to a comment you didn't post? The "who you would pick to father your child" comment confused me. I don't see any comments about that posted, and I know I didn't say it.
Anyway, I have no problem dropping the Trump thing. I didn't bring him up. Or defending Jon without having to deflect. So I'm going to assume that comment wasn't in reply to what I wrote. If it was, well I'll just let the Trump topic end here regardless.
Back to Jon, I just don't think what he did about the male revue and playing with the media was as condemnable as some do. Silly maybe. If he actually stripped then I can see the outrage.
I don't see how Jon celebrating his 40th birthday at a club and playing a media prank has went from worry that he is embarrassing his kids, to exposing how he doesn't care about Collin.
Having the ability to play a prank on the media should mean he should have the ability to see his son? I don't understand how the two equate.
And how can the people who feel it was a fiasco of a prank think he would be able to pull off going up against the legal system. Wouldn't that just be another fiasco?
I didn't think the media scheme was that elaborate or complicated. He posted a promo pic and a video. He contacted In Touch and did radio interviews. He's in the entertainment business. That's not the same as the legal business.
I could see Jon planning an elaborate way to kidnap his child, but we already ruled out kidnapping.

I could't agree more.
Sometimes people can work so hard at trying to defend themselves that they paint themselves into a corner.
Easter is approaching. Will TFW shower her 7 with goodies? Will the dogs get treats like they did for Christmas? Will she make it to church, or will one of the puppies have the sniffles, thus rendering TFW incapable of leaving the house? Her faith is none of
our business, you may say. But when she passed a basket around churches across the country for years -- when she was probably more affluent than the people she took money from -- she certainly was loud and proud about her Christianity.
I don't know... I guess in all the previous conversations we had awhile back you didn't show concern for his son's embarrassment when we were discussing the stuff he said about women etc. Or did you? I don't recal

This was a set up. If I say Trump doesn't embarrass his kids I'm a hypocrite. But if I say he does, you respond, but you never said that before! Lose lose for me. Certain trolls are NOT stupid. See how that works?
As for the troll saying Trump is destroying this country, one, get your fainting couch, lol seriously??. Two, it's not all about YOU and the things YOU want. The incredible job growth and soaring stock market are very good news for some of the hardest hit in our country. The best in eight years. Of course it's always all about themselves when people hate on Trump. It's never about the heart of America and what policies are best for them. Never. For once, try to think about how a family from middle America feels to finally see mom and dad back to work this month and what little retirement they've saved triple since November. Just TRY. And all they can hear is how their country is being destroyed? Do you think maybe, just maybe, all these nasty comments are hurtful to those whose lives have been changed for the better right now? Think about it.
How about if we all make the word Trump off limits? Please?
OT: Anyone else watch Big Little Lies? Incredible acting, especially by Nicole Kidman & Reese Witherspoon. I'm sorry to see it end, but Better Call Saul is coming back!
Sorry Admin, but it's confusing when you reply to comments that aren't posted.
At least I think that's what's going on, otherwise I'm even more confused. I didn't see a "destroying our country" comment, so I'm going to assume it wasn't posted.
I understand if you don't want to post what you consider "troll" comments, it's just hard to follow when they aren't posted.

Sad but true (#50), that Barb Gilmer is sharp!
Ah, Kate Gosselin, the ever-relatable single mom, oh-so-sincerely extolling the virtues of some product she's getting paid to shill. Right now, many moms are worrying about saving up for their kids' summer activities, or struggling to pay for new spring clothes to replace the ones their children have outgrown. But TFW is telling them to instead put their money towards a pouch that's perfect for traveling, and some skin repair stuff, because they deserve it. Shades of the defunct cruise. All she left
out was "Do it do it do it!"

That microdermabrasion must cost a pretty penny to have to use a coupon code, for single moms with a bunch of kids, don't cha know!
Of course the coupon code has to be K-A-T-E.
I haven't seen the post, but how can you go on, day after day, sleep at night and smile for the camera knowing your precious son is out there, somewhere.
Not with his sisters, not with his brothers, not with his pets, can't sleep in his own bed. And been gone way over a year.
Disgustingly sad.
Doncha love it when TFW does something silly to perk up the blog? Thanks, Schmoopy!
LOL, what a boxful of nuthin'! That "Milly Zip Pouch" is a canvas 10.25 x 8" pouch with a zipper. On the fabfitfun website, you can see a retail price for this item of $45! Who are they f'in kidding with this nonsense? Anyone who'd pay that amount for a small zippered bag (it doesn't even say if it's waterproof) needs to have their head examined. You can get items such as these FREE with purchase from places like Clinique almost every day of the week. I have a similar-sized bag from Clinique, which IS waterproof, that I've been using for the last 20 years. Unbelievable.
My guess is the average person wouldn't use about 50% of what was in each box. It even includes items like "kitchen herbs," whatever that means, lol. You cannot select anything, you just take whatever comes. I can't imagine the notoriously cheap Kate Gosselin spending her own money like this, but I guess getting it for free makes that no problemo.
The recent cheek fillers are very obvious in this IG photo. You can see how her skin suddenly flattens out on the sides of her face. Not a flattering photo by any means.
Sad but true (#54), but, but...your Clinique bag wasn't endorsed by #FabFitFun supermom TFW! It's probably just a mediocre bag for mediocre things! You owe it to yourself to get a new one! Go ahead and order that box -- your skin isn't going to exfoliate itself! Do it do it do it!
Hey, didn't TFW endorse one of these box thingies a few years ago? Lovable? Huggable? Something -able? Where you order a subscription and they count on you being too busy and/or lazy to cancel?
barbgilmer1@kateplusmy8 You a paid spokesperson for them??

Well Barb if there's a coupon code "KATE" then she's being paid either with free product or she's getting a check. If you click on the #fabfitfun link you'll see that many of the people pictured are saying the same thing about the product (yes, the company wrote it for her) and they also have the $10 off coupon by putting their name in. I wonder how many of her paid "like bots" will actually buy the product. I wonder if the company will drop her "celebrity" endorsement when they see that the coupon code "KATE" doesn't generate much business.
LOL! TFW needs to buy some more comment bots that will say that they're going to order right away. The comments are still pretty much running about how young and beautiful she is.

I find that kind of grab bag to be for younger women or even girls who don't know what works for them, what they need and don't need and don't understand what a waste of money stupid bundled boxes are.
What do you do with half that sh8T?
It looks like a box of stuff you probably don't need will set you back $50.
Yet again, Kate the millionaire shilling for you to buy from a company that gives her stuff for free.
What really grates me is that Kate has no idea what any of her fans need, but damn if she won't try to sell this box of doodads.
Who the hell gives a company money and has NO EARTHLY CLUE what they're paying for?
I wonder if there's some corollary for men and if men would spend their money on some sports box or men's grooming products box that ships a bunch of who knows what to you every 3 months.
I wonder if Collin gets any little care boxes of fun stuff?
Sad, but true-

I can't see her fans forking out $200. for a year's worth of these 'boxes'. Does that 'kate' discount apply to all four boxes you are expected to subscribe for or only the first one? In any case I think most sensible people who are going to spend $200. would rather purchase cosmetics, etc. which they are familiar with instead of taking a chance on getting a bunch of junk they can't use. Check out the "reviews" on their website - not exactly everyone is pleased.

Ahhh, so Kate is back to lining her own pockets at the expense of her fans, I see, It was only a matter of time. Ratings are low, so she needed to find another way to get something off them.
Chocolate fans, I have to fill you in on a great Easter sale. Gertrude Hawk Chocolates (all of you from PA will know what I'm talking about) is running a sale on cute little bunny-shaped chocolates ("smidgens"). For every two boxes you buy you get one free, and then you get to take an additional 30% off your entire purchase. And you get free shipping if you spend $50. They're offering four (one year's worth) right now for $179.99, but you only get the "Kate" discount on a one-box order, it doesn't apply to the $179.99 choice. But even at that, who's going to spend that kind of money for four shipments of unknown products that you can't even select? I guess there must be people who fall for this, otherwise they wouldn't be doing it. Maybe it's to be construed as a special "Mommy" treat, lol. But it just doesn't make sense to me.

OT, but is anyone watching My 600 lb. Life on TLC tonight? They are airing the 2nd part of a show featuring 2 brothers. The oldest one reminds me a lot of Kate, his manipulation of the medical system, faces & smirking. As an old psych nurse, I find it fascinating.
Tori Spelling should be tweeting her commercial by morning.
Having the ability to play a prank on the media should mean he should have the ability to see his son? I don't understand how the two equate.
____________
You really don't see how all the energy and thought and TIME he put into his 'prank' should be put towards reconciling with his children? Or getting therapy for himself? Or getting legal advice? Or ANYTHING that doesn't involve him own ego?
Now I'm confused!
****amy***
You really don't see how all the energy and thought and TIME he put into his 'prank' should be put towards reconciling with his children? Or getting therapy for himself? Or getting legal advice?
&&&&&&&&&&&&7
Amy, he has gotten legal advice, spent mega-bucks, has gone through the court system, quite possibly more than any of us will ever know. Just because everything isn't made public doesn't mean it hasn't happened. Dealing with the court and custody really is quite different than pulling a prank on the media. Honestly, it is.
Amy,
I wasn't replying to anything about the "time" he could spend doing all those things vs. the "time" he spent planning the prank.
The comments I replied to were:
funny how Jon can pull off some elaborate media scheme but somehow can't see his son for 3 years.
AND
He's clearly capable of hatching something complicated, orhestrating it, effectuating it. Yet can't figure out how to get a mother to follow a simple standard family law order? Come on.
Those comments weren't about the "time" he could have spent with Collin, etc, they were about how he's capable of orchestrating something "elaborate," but not capable of figuring out how to get custody of his child. THAT is what I replied to.
So.... If it was about the time he spent since the media saw his first tweet about the male revue that was about a week. One week. But since you brought it up, I don't think a "time" argument is all that valid anyway. He didn't spend a year on it. It was a week.
Of course you could argue that he spent a lot longer planning it than we know.
And how do you know he's NOT getting therapy? How do you know he's NOT getting legal advice?
Plus he spends time with his kids. He only has them during his custody time. I don't see how spending time with eight kids on one weekend would take up any more time than spending time with four kids on one weekend. He has those days set aside to spend with his kids already.
Susan, thanks for reminding me! I had forgotten about it. I wondered what was happening because the first part left us hanging. I see it repeats at 11.
He really is a smirker, isn't he?

Oh, people will buy it. The same type of people that follow around after a D list celeb in her 40's are the same type of people that buy the equivalent of a carnival grab bag only nearly 200 bucks. There isn't a whole lot of good judgment and common sense coming from that crowd. Those people also probably have the latest iPhone they can't afford in their back pocket too.

It's a good question but at the same time the answer is obvious. Almost anyone who offers you a "discount code" to buy something online gets a cut. That's a GIVEN.

Isn't there some law (within the past few years, since K8's been on Twitter) about hawking products and NOT saying that you've recd payment and/or goods and services in exchange for the endorsement? Surely there's an IRS reg about this.
Now this is weird. On the TLC K8 FB page, there's a column on the right under the caption "People also like." And look what's under it:

I looked at it, there's more than a handful of photos of Cara and probably schoolmates that I've never seen. And good ole Paige_K8fan has commented several times about it being a fake page. But why is it linked on TLC's page then?

I believe he's been through the legal system, at the same time, if a mother is not following the family law order, you need to ask the court to set an OSC for contempt. You don't need an attorney to do so. It's nice to have one, but not necessary. You don't need a law degree to explain, excuse me your honor, but I'm supposed to have the kids on Saturday and mom won't let me have them.
If he's capable of hatching an elaborate prank, he's capable of filling out simple paperwork and asking for an OSC.
When you represent yourself, all of a sudden family law court gets a heck of a lot cheaper, in many cases, free. Ideally he needed an attorney for the tough financial stuff, but not for simple follow up to ensure compliance by Kate.
Isn't there some law (within the past few years, since K8's been on Twitter) about hawking products and NOT saying that you've recd payment and/or goods and services in exchange for the endorsement? Surely there's an IRS reg about this.
^^^^
Yeah I feel like I heard something about that too. Can't remember exactly what the law is, but I believe it's federal.
Here's an article on FTC regs for "celebrity" endorsements on social media:
http://www.lexology.com/library/detail.aspx?g=3fc6930a-ba11-40d8-9b79-c47c18ce0ea2
"As a general matter, an endorsement should disclose any connection between the endorser and the marketer that consumers would not expect and that would affect how consumers evaluate the endorsement. Such a connection would exist if the endorser has been paid or given something of value to promote the product. . . .
"According to a recent Bloomberg interview with Michael Ostheimer, a deputy in the FTC’s Ad Practices Division, the FTC is planning to get tougher on influencer marketing. One challenge of ensuring sufficient disclosures is the limited space or time available in social media such as Twitter and Snapchat. As explained in its FAQs, the FTC does not mandate the specific wording of disclosures but requires that they be clear and conspicuous. Thus, starting a tweet with “Ad:” or “#ad” would likely be effective, whereas burying disclosures in footnotes, in blocks of text people are unlikely to read, or in hyperlinked sources would not."
I don't see anything "clear and conspicuous" in K8's IG post re the connection she (or any of the other Z-listers promoting fabfitfun, for that matter) has with this company/product.

For a mother who lost her son for almost a year, she really seems unbothered by not having him around. If I were without one of my kids for that long, I'd be in pretty bad shape.
&&&&
Most people would be. I think Kate is very easily able to cut herself off emotionally from whatever relationships most people find meaningful. Even many divorced parents would still like to be friends. She cut off Jon just like that, cut off her parents, various relatives and friends, and now her own child. I don't think she was experiencing those relationships like a normal person would, such that cutting them off would be an incredibly difficult choice and would only be done in extreme situations, like sexual abuse or something. Her way of dealing with the appendage that offends her is to cut it off. Unlike someone who is not a narcissist, she is not interested in trying to work through their problems because it's worth it because it's your mom/father of your kids/child/best friend.
To her it's out of sight out of mind. She compartmentalizes very well. And I think this really goes for her own children, too, her ability to compartmentalize. She's that devoid of human connection. From her side of things, she feels fine. From the other person's perspective, I'm sure this treatment can be very upsetting.
At least Gladys will have something to hawk. This should keep her busy for some time!
How blind you are. You and your blogger cronies don't follow her around? You all check her IG and Twitter hourly looking for messages, then pick them apart for days, wonder what she'll do for for Easter, when filming starts and stops, wonder why she's quiet if she's not posting. You've dissected her every move and every word for years.
&&&
Being a FAN of someone is a very different mentality than taking an interest in something like a crop of kids being exploited, and then seeing it through to the bitter end. They follow her around because they are devoted to her and follow her directions. Seems to me nobody hear likes her or would do what she says. Huge difference. The psychology of "fans" there to worship, isn't really comparable to discussion groups on the internet mostly meant to critique.
Point is, bet you nobody here buys this junk box. Her fans will though, watch.
It seems like every Z lister is saying basically the same thing about this box. I guess #fabfitfun spent a lot of money sending their boxes to Z listers to get an endorsement from them. SMDH if the sheeple actually believe that TFW spent her own money on this. Barb is the only smart one in the bunch....sometimes.
&&&&
What a cliche business plan! Sounds like they sent 500 boxes out to celebs and got a handful of takers. Gave them each a code (their first name) and promised a, eh, maybe 5% cut of the profits.
God, humans are just so....DUMB.
Jon very recently said he's gone to court so many times over custody, and he said something like it's not working because Kate isn't being penalized for not following the custody order.
From what I read online regarding contempt it's up to the judge to charge Kate with contempt (or not), and even if he finds her in contempt he decides whether to fine her or not, or to jail her or not.
I think it was Jon's most recent radio interview he did where he talked about it.
Jon very recently said he's gone to court so many times over custody, and he said something like it's not working because Kate isn't being penalized for not following the custody order.
&&&&
I don't believe him that the judge won't do anything. Sorry, I don't.
She is in clear violation of the custody order, and the violation is not just a few minutes late. It's egregious, in that they're not seeing him at all.
It's probably true you may have to go back several times if you have a wet noodle judge who is hoping problems will take care of themselves, but eventually, he will hold her in contempt.
He's lying. It could be about how hard he has really tried to fix this problem, or, perhaps there is some reason the judge isn't forcing the kids on this point. But most family law judges have a great deference for ensuring children see as much of both of their parents as their orders allow for. If the judge TRULY isn't doing anything to help, at that point, you'll have to go to the Court of Appeal. But most parents would do whatever it took to fix this and would go to a higher court if they have to.
These grab bag things seem to be all the rage right now, but they're a fad. This business will be done within 12 months.
This is a particularly bad grab bag. The items have no relation to each other, and it includes random CRAP you don't really need like an umbrella (who doesn't already have at least a few umbrellas?), cheap coasters, lotions.
The ones I've seen are for a clothing company, and you pay per box and a stylist picks out some choices for you and sends them out. You can return what you want free of charge and the box itself is free as long as you pick at least one item to buy. It's not a scam, but it's a way of shopping that involves an element of risk and unknown most buyers past a certain age don't like.
I really liked the clothes my friend was getting from her grab bag, but in the end I decided it was too risky to make sense when I could just pick out clothes I wanted myself and return them if they didn't work.
This one appears to be a no return box. You get what you get and you don't get upset. Well, then that means the whole thrill is based around a surprise. But when you get past the age of 22 you want less surprises and more I just need MY night cream now, the one I know and like.
Admin, Feud's episodes about the Oscar wars between Bette and Joan were terrific!
I went and Googled Joan + 1963 Oscars and the photos really comport with the story. That broad was in all her glory.
Oh, I love Mamacita! At least how she's being portrayed on the show.
&&&
I knew pretty much nothing about this feud but I've found it delightfully interesting. I'm assuming most of the facts are more or less correct. So, if true, Joan's plan to f--- with Bette's Oscar was rather brilliant in a twisted way. She lost the nomination, and had it in her head Bette couldn't win. So not only did she campaign to make sure Anne Bancroft won, but she then manipulated Anne to get her to accept for her. So in the end not only would Bette lose, but JOAN would be on stage in her place. That's the kind of evil brilliance Kate only wishes she could pull off.
The way it's portrayed, it seems to me Joan is the bigger villain, and Bette is mostly on defense. I find myself usually siding with Bette, sort of like, well she can't just NOT respond to THAT! lol
Mamacita IS my celeb's assistant. Much older though. I couldn't believe the way Assistant talked to the family. Yet at the same time she was their most trusted advisor. Some 30 year old kid from Toronto out to make it big in Hollywood, ends up bossing around an B lister all day! What a world.

I wonder, since it's state by state, of CA takes a stronger stance on contempt charges thank PA does.
I found this online:
However, if a parent continues to not comply with an existing custody order, upon the filing of the proper petition, the court MAY eventually find that parent in contempt of court. In Pennsylvania, penalties for non-compliance with a custody order can include a fine or imprisonment.

I wonder, since it's state by state, of CA takes a stronger stance on contempt charges thank PA does.
&&&
Contempt is pretty similar state to state. But, I do think it could be the culture of the courthouse. If you have a number of judges who happily hold people in contempt for violating court orders, and you're that one judge who doesn't, you're going to feel pressure to conform. But if the whole courthouse never holds anyone in contempt, why start?
I will say this, sometimes judges shy away from contempt because it's easy to mess it up. Specific things need to happen, certain parts need to be in writing, and very specific standards need to be met, and if you mess it up, it's an easy reversal on appeal. Judges hate being reversed. But, that's a dumb excuse when we're talking about issuing family law orders that have no teeth. A lot of judges are elected. If you have a judge who is a wet noodle, vote no next time or vote for somebody else. People get obsessed with presidential elections, but few ask, when looking at the judges on the ballot, will he or she be tough when enforcing their orders? You are far more likely to be affected by your local judge, either you or your family, than somebody caught in the swarm of checks and balances in DC.
OT: Does anyone else find that you must BUY On Demand shows on Fios and Comcast for networks programs? Cable bills are high enough as is. If you miss an earlier episode of a series you follow you may end up having to buy it- then what do you do with it! Just a pet peeve of mine.

I could understand not believing Jon if he didn't see ANY of his kids. But he sees four of them very regularly. He follows the custody schedule. He goes to their games, school functions, etc.
Jon is obviously interested in seeing his children, and spending time with them. I don't believe for a second that he only wants to see the four he sees, or is content with just four out of the eight.
Jon making such effort to see four kids regulary, but not caring enough to make the effort to see the rest doesn't ring true.
The fact that Collin was kept from him, and is now not even in Kate's custody tells there's more to it than Jon just not making an effort.
At least Gladys will have something to hawk. This should keep her busy for some time!

Rumor has it that ever since Kate abandoned her coupon site and stopped scouring the internet for deals, Gladys has been unable to find petite 'slacks' in her size.

&&&
Sure it does. Those kids go without complaint. It's quick and easy for him. They just show.
The four that don't show, he'd have to do work to see. Spend time, money, go to court, and be strategic to figure this out. That's a lot more work. Based on his own comments, one can only conclude he's been rather passive with this. He claims he doesn't KNOW why this happened. If one had actually been to court to contest this matter, the first thing the judge would have asked is WHY isn't this visit happening?? Jon would then know why. So the very fact that he claims he doesn't know what is going on is a huge red flag little to nothing has really been done to remedy this.
Cronie club!

I imagine D-list celebrity endorsement is a viable way to get this product marketed- initially. Celeb's social media can reach followers and there might be some buzz generated.
But in today's information world, consumers have become far more sophisticated and discerning about their purchases.
When you have sources like Amazon, which have star ratings and plentiful reviews, you're able to make wiser choices with more predictable outcomes.
My bet is that FunFitFab will see a noticeable spike in sales after this social media endorsement blitz, then a precipitous drop with very few people choosing to buy on an ongoing basis.
I mean, a pouch! A stupid pouch! Who would get excited about a pouch with a zipper when they go to any number of discount stores and buy one for a couple bucks?
Those hair and nail vitamins are available at any pharmacy, and I buy them at Costco for the best bulk price.
And on and on.
When it comes to skin products, that "microdermabrasion" tiny tube is just a mild exfoliant. Try some olive oil or coconut oil and sugar for the same exact result.
I agree that Jon definitely comes across as passive. I find that frustrating. I've questioned why he seems so accepting of it. But I also think that's his personality.
Jon's also been dealing with custody issues with Kate for 8 years. That has to take a toll.

This is not a terribly new product, though. They've been putting out these boxes at least since 2013. And since it is subscription-based, you'd think they would have been working the social media "celeb" circuit from the get-go. Maybe they have, but I'd never heard of it before K8's post yesterday.
I don't doubt that #fabfitfun will see a spike in sales Tucker'sMom but I don't think that many of them will be using the "KATE" coupon code. I will say that some of the #fabfitfunpartners did a better job because they actually displayed what was in the box.

This is a classic Kate side hustle. Instead of developing her own brand and business like so many other celebs have done (home goods, food products, exercise) she globs on to an established brand, gets a promo code, sends it out to social media and watches Paypal for the money.
It's virtually NO time, energy or work. Right up Kate's alley.
Problem is she never thinks more than two steps ahead. Sure, this is a quick buck. But it won't be much. A couple hundred bucks maybe at the end of the day. Enough for a free nice dinner with the kids. If she worked at developing her own brand, the profit potential could be in the tens of thousands of dollars. A lot more work, sure, but a much better profit ratio.
See, I think already savvy and discerning shoppers have definitely gotten laser sharp thanks to reviews, videos and photos that people freely post nowadays.
But there's always going to be a huge chunk of stupid people who won't even read reviews or if they do blow them off, who still get easily taken in by an obvious money pit, who aren't able to think critically about purchases, who get swindled. This product targets that group, and I can't respect celebs who target the gullible to line their own pockets.
Why doesn't she find a product SHE truly loves and SHE would buy even if no one gave it to her for free? One that one NEEDS, something that would greatly improve your life. God forbid she tie it into her schtick, being a mother of a lot of kids. Hawk something related to that. Authenticity would go a long way.
Admin (#113), bless your heart, you think
TFW would spend a few hundred dollars on
a "free nice dinner with the kids?" Nice dinners with the kids are for when TLC is reimbursing her. This #fabfitfun windfall will be hers alone.

Don't you think her "brand" (such as it is) is tainted beyond repair at this point? You can't go around as hot-single-mom-of-8 when you're down one of the main attractions, with no reasonable explanation. She has tried many times to leverage her fame, but as the sales of 3 out of her 4 books show, there is now very limited interest in her, and it continues to wane. I think about the only thing that could resurrect her career at this point is a wedding or a baby. But since her constant lament is that with 8 kids she doesn't have time to date, neither is likely.
Speaking of online product reviews, is anyone else sick of all the positive reviews that are posted in exchange for "free or discounted" products?
Who can trust that??? I'm so sick of scrolling through reviews to see if the person received the product in exchange for their "unbiased" opinion. Uh, yeah, real unbiased. Give poor reviews and you stop getting free stuff.
I wish they would not allow those reviews, or at minimum, allow you to filter out the reviews that were given in exchange for the product.
I know they have Verified Purchase reviews, but I'm not sure that's enough to filter them out.

“Not Worth! Disappointed with 2016 Winter Box”
12/6/16
I ordered the 2016 Winter Box after watching Tori Spelling open a box and provide an awesome review. It seemed like she had the never ending box of items. I just got my box and I am very disappointed with it. The items don't seem worth what I spent. I will never order again from this company.
Nika C. [FabFitFun Rep] Hey Marianne!
We appreciate you signing up! The box you likely saw Tori Spelling review was the Fall Box which sold out September 30th. It sounds like you signed up a bit later and received our Winter Box, we're sorry to hear you aren't enjoying the products inside. Tori also did a review of our Winter box and loved it as much as Fall so we are really sad to hear you were disappointed. While we always work to curate a box members will love some boxes tend to be more loved than others. We've gotten a sneak peak at the Spring Box curation for next season and we can't wait for members to receive it. If your subscription is still active we hope once you recieve the Spring Box you fall head over heels in love.
Another review - "Subscription scam - once they have you almost impossible to cancel...the boxes aren't worth the price and once they have your credit card, it is almost impossible to cancel......"

Wow the reviews are not just about how the boxes are full of junk but also many state it's impossible to cancel, customer service keeps putting them off and that once they have your credit card it's over.
I don't think she at all sees this as a moral and ethical problem to refer fans to a company that basically hijacks their credit card. Wouldn't a normal person want to do a tiny bit of research before asking good people to spend their hard earned money?
Sorry if this is posted twice. I don't think it worked on my phone.
The Pioneer Woman recently launched a series of childrens' books, with focus on her beloved dog, Charlie, the Bassett.
Of course, that's in addition to a panoply of successful cookbooks, a wildly popular blog and a line of products.
(She and Ladd also opened up a store/resto in town)
Ree has what Kate will never have, and that's talent, relatability, the willingness to work hard to better her performances and a work ethic that doesn't leave her preferring being away from her children 50% of the time.
With all of Ree's success, I've never had the impression that she's morphed into another woman who loves and lives for the spotlight.

So many of those places are like that. Once you order, they attach themselves to your hip and you can't cut yourself free. It's like a permanent umbilical cord.
Kate goes through these product endorsements like a cat in a litter box. She sniffs it out, drops a load, scratches a few times to spread it around, then quickly scampers out and moves on to the next.
Meanwhile, the sheep are left with something they really didn't want or need and frustrated that these things keep showing up on their doorstep. Remember Record of the Month Club?
I agree with you Admin. I have always supported Jon and absolutely know he has had a raw deal with Kate and the courts, a lot of that because TLC got their grubby little paws in their marriage. But I believe now, from many things read and said that Jon is very passive and if it isn't easy then he is willing to give up. As you have repeatedly said, going to court to get HIS visitation rights just seems like something he is not willing to fight for. The most egregious thing he does, IMO, is not sit at the judges court until he can tell him about not seeing or knowing where Colin is for over a year. I mean really, how passive can you be. It's not about letting Kate win again for me, it's how much do you love your own child who we know for a fact has been abused for years, but why aren't you willing to scream from the court rooftop if necessary to get people to listen and know that you have a RIGHT to see and know where your missing child is. The total f--- job that is this family is otherworldly. Nothing Kate ever does surprises me, but I am shocked that Jon doesn't move heaven and earth to find Colin and to see all of his kids.

Like when Kate cajoled her poor fans into taking a cruise they couldn't afford, she suffers nothing when it goes bad.

Shouting from rooftops, and moving heaven and earth. Sounds to me like just a lot more hyperbole.
Do you really expect Jon to sit at the court until he can ambush the judge?
As for shouting from the rooftops, Jon also went public about not being able to see his kids. But now it seems a lot of people feel he doesn't come across as sincere enough.
PA Dutch Mom, a local that seems to know some of what Jon does and doesn't do about trying to see Collin, and just how much he does to see his kids, etc made this comment above:
Amy, he has gotten legal advice, spent mega-bucks, has gone through the court system, quite possibly more than any of us will ever know. Just because everything isn't made public doesn't mean it hasn't happened.
I guess people can choose to not believe her either, since we don't know who she is. People can choose not to believe Jon either. But knowing how IMPOSSIBLE Kate is and how impossible she makes things for anyone who doesn't do things her way, I totally believe she's using any loophole or influence she can to get what she wants and deny Jon his custodial rights.
Apparently, everyone expects CPS and the justice system to always work. How do you explain all the children that are sent back home to abusive parents? Or given shared custody to an abusive parent?
I can't imagine the frustration the good parent feels, especially when people insist that the justice system works, and you're just not trying hard enough.

Yes! I hate this on Amazon and think it's a great disservice to their customers.
There are people who have their own little cottage industry of receiving free stuff in exchange for reviews. I don't care if you disclose it, it's not unbiased because you know that if you start calling out products as being crap, the offers will dry up.
It's easy to Google these sites and sign up to be on lists for company freebies in exchange for Amazon reviews.

She might want to swiffer that one soon.

Tucker's Mom (#122), Ree Drummond is also something TFW has never been able to fake -- a kind, caring, loving, compassionate mother. I've commented before about how Ree is clearly smitten with her boys, and what a joy that is to see in comparison to TFW's distant, detached tolerance of her sons.

Jon knew Kate better than anyone. He was so focused on partying until the wee hours of the morning with sycophants and college girls, Hailey Glassman, the Ed Hardy brand, living in NYC, galavanting hither, tither and yon, indulging his inner ski "dude" in Utah, cavorting with lowlife pigs like Michael Lohan and working the media on every level to have the discipline to give LASER BEAM focus to Kate and Steve Nield.
Big mistake.
Huge.
I do not believe that this just happens to fathers. I do not.
Jon let Kate, Steve, TLC and all their lawyers slip the leash when he should have kept a death grip, like his life depended on it.
What father not in jail, not an addict, not an abuser and without his parental rights severed by the courts is not able to see his child, supervised or unsupervised, or even know his whereabouts?
I don't think I'm the crazy one to think it makes zero sense.

Nah. When K8 sees something like this, all she thinks is FREE. For her, that is. I am pretty sure she's only being compensated in product, not cash. Unless she were to get to some kind of threshold, maybe. There's way too many of these "influencers" (LOL at that term) out there---it appears to be at least in the 100s---for there to be actual dollars available to cut 'em all in.

She's never had an original idea in her life. She just doesn't have the talent for this but maybe that's where her new friendship with Brownie would come in. Ree beat her to the punch on this one.

I think you may be onto something. Either Jon didn't actually try to see Collin quite so hard, or there's a reason he isn't allowed to, one that has nothing to do with Kate. I wonder if maybe Kate managed to convince a judge that since Jon hasn't had contact with Collin in 2-3 years, it's not in Collin's best interest for contact to resume now. If she has brainwashed Collin, perhaps he himself told lies about Jon and claimed he had no wish to see him. An alienated child can make up story about the parent they've been brainwashed against. Could it be something along those lines? And when Kate won in court Jon found it too complicated to appeal the decision? Either way, like you said, something's missing.
Tucker's Mom,
I definitely agree with you about all those horrible decisions Jon made during the divorce and the year or so after it. Huge mistakes. Stupid mistakes. Horrid decisions.
But that was years ago. And he saw ALL his kids back then. There are plenty of pics of him with them in all these years.
Jon went to court a lot once he settled down. We saw some of the stuff he filed with the courts since the divorce. They posted it on radar online.
"An alienated child can make up story about the parent they've been brainwashed against."
Collin was so eager to please TFW and gain her approval that I'm sure he would have said anything she told him to say whether true or not. It's a very sad situation. It seems to be too little too late from Jon because when he should have been focused on it he wasn't.

I agree. Something is definitely missing.
But the thing is, no one knew that Jon wasn't seeing Collin. Why would Jon go public about it if he has something to hide? He could just not say anything. Could just not post pics of just the four kids he has. And there would be no reason for him to just say it to just throw us off. We wouldn't even know anything about it if he hadn't gone public about it. If Kate said he doesn't see Collin, Jon could easily just lie and say he does, just not as frequently as he sees the others etc.
But yes there's obviously something going on that we all don't know about.

I wonder if Collin even believes some of those things. Remember Kate doesn't allow the kids to bring anything home from Jon's so Collin technically hasn't received anything from his father in a long time. Two years of zero contact: no phone calls, no presents, no nothing. I have this horrible image of Kate telling Collin stuff like "See? Daddy doesn't miss you, doesn't ask about you, doesn't even call you on your birthday." How old was he when he last saw Jon? 10? What if Kate was even able to convince Collin of false things? Like "Remember how daddy would ignore you even when he lived here? Remember how he yelled and beat you?" Stuff like that...If she as able to turn the twins against Jon at 13, Collin could have been even easier, being younger. Just like you said, it's exactly why Jon should have fought for him back then not "take whoever comes down the driveway" and move on with his life. As admin said, after a few police interventions/court interventions, Kate would have had no choice but to give up. The longer she got away with it, the further away Collin slipped, I'm sure.

I'm wondering too if Kate will make some money off this fff thing. She loves free stuff, but if Tori Spelling and Lisa Rinna are shilling for them too, then I am inclined to think that there is some monetary incentive. Maybe they get a kickback for each person who signs up using their coupon code. The others may make something off of it, but Kate just doesn't have that many supporters. Have any of them said they are going to order?
Maybe she is needing some extra cash. TLC only did 8 shows last year, and even if she is still making $40K per episode, her expenses are enormous. Last year at this time they probably had about 3 episodes filmed, and this year it only looks like one. What if they don't get as many episodes? What if her salary (as well as the overall production budget) was lowered? She needs to come up with extra cash somewhere, and trying to squeeze it out of her supporters is definitely something she's willing to do.
Rather ham-handedly changing the subject.

Agree, it's gross. And it's not good for a dog to chew and suck on things that aren't safe to chew and suck on. A well trained dog puts dog toys from a pet store in its mouth and nothing more, besides its food.
If a dog is sucking on a blanket, it could be because it tastes some food crumbs. It could try to eat it, get a piece off and choke or get it lodged in its stomach. It also teaches the dog that it's okay to put things in its mouth not meant for their mouth. You would think she would learn after already putting one of her dogs through expensive and painful surgery after it ate something it shouldn't have. She is reckless with the dog, unlike a true dog lover.
"Does a hemorrhoid need a brain to function?"
Some people, like Kate, do think with their butts.

Well that was a perfect analogy.
I had a bulldog that sucked the end of his pillow all his life. The vet said it is called "wool sucking" and it was either because he didn't get as much time on his mother (he was the runt of the litter) or was weaned a little too soon (possibly because her milk dried up). It was kind of a comfort thing with him and it there was really nothing we could do about it. At any rate, it has nothing to do with the dog not being well trained so I'll give TFW a pass on this especially since her pups apparently came from a backyard breeder.
A backyard breeder who rips puppies from their mothers too soon. Awesome. Probably so she can stop nursing and start whelping again as soon as possible.

Agree 100% with you on this. TFW showed the video of the puppy sucking her finger when she shouldn't even been handling it. She also claims to have made weekly visits. Another no-no with puppies because their immune systems are delicate. No reputable breeder would allow this. And finally, TFW dragging the puppies on vacation when they hadn't had all their shots and were just getting used to their new home. No wonder the poor dog needs the comfort of sucking. But the wool sucking is just something some dogs do.

You have no soul to stir when the grandeur of the Grand Canyon fails to inspire and move.

JustMissy (#166), if TFW had been part of your group, she wouldn't have been listening to the ranger anyway. She would probably think, "This Mr. Boy Scout Man is talking,

Sad but true (#171), TFW is trying to show the world what a deep thinker she is. She's not just trying to con people into buying stuff they don't need, but she is also inspirational,

You know what? Sometimes things are awful, and challenging, and painful, and
I think this looking-on-the-bright-side philosophy can actually be a harmful denial

I guess TFW sees herself as making the best out of the way things have turned out with C is to pretend he was never there.

My dog does the same thing except he licks my hands. We do not go to sleep until he is finished, no matter how tired we are. Good thing he's so cute.
My Aussie threatens to chew the edge of my favorite rug when he wants attention. I searched forever to find the perfect blue-and-white-striped beach house rug (just like the one in the movie "Something's Got To Give"), and I finally found it and it's in my family room. When my pup wants to get my attention he'll lift up a corner and sit there, waiting for me to notice it in his mouth. He knows better than to chew it, but he gets his desired result. I know that he's signaling that he wants attention and he wants to play, and I'll drop everything to play with him (and save my rug). The pup knows how to get what he wants! But sucking on a rug or blanket? I have never heard of that before. Sounds like self-comforting to me. Just like the kids did.

Now the pups are doing it. Still makes me sick that the breeder allowed her to let that pup suckle her French tips. That pup could of gotten sick because of bacteria under them.

Her hawking just never seems to work out.
I would never order a box of the month club, no matter if it's the gift that keeps on giving (like Cousin Eddie's jelly of the month club). Will Jon Gosselin Ever Wed Again? The Father of Eight Says ‘I Like Marriage’
Jon Gosselin is getting candid about marriage.
The father of eight, who rose to fame on the now-canceled TLC reality series Jon & Kate Plus 8, was married to ex-wife Kate Gosselin for 10 years. But in December 2009, after having filed papers in June, the former couple divorced after a decade-long marriage.
Despite his split from the mother of his eight children — Gosselin shares twins Mady and Cara, 16, and sextuplets (Aaden, Alexis, Collin, Hannah, Leah and Joel), 12, with Kate — he is still open to tying the knot again.
Speaking with Kate Casey on her Life with Kate Casey podcast last Friday, the deejay addressed whether he’ll ever walk down the aisle in the future.
“Are you going to get married again? Do you think you’ll get married again?” Casey asked Gosselin.
“I like marriage. So, I don’t know. Maybe,” Gosselin admitted. “I’ve been with Colleen for almost three years. She’s a huge part of my life.
Being in the public eye, Casey questioned whether it’s difficult for him to “find a normal person” to date.
“It’s hard to find a normal person if you’re still on television. It’s easy to find a normal person if you work a normal job and have a normal life,” said Gosselin.
He added: “I have a quasi-normal life, which means I have a normal life down here. In reality, I’m working. But in the media, most people don’t have the media that I have.”
Last week, it was announced that the 40-year-old former reality star would be joining the dancers at Caesars Atlantic City for an all male revue.

I'm sure Cindy's products are terrific, but let's get real. She owes her better-aging looks to genes and her team of doctors!
At least Cindy looks like Cindy. Kate barely resembles the woman on J+K+8, and I'm not talking about her tummy or baby weight.
Thinking back about how the tups sucked on cloths for comfort, it makes you think maybe engineering multiple births is not an ideal situation for the resulting babies. They are deprived of large amounts of attention and affection, which is as vital in some ways as food and shelter. TFW admitted H was the first baby she bonded with, and it almost seems like she was so overwhelmed by having 6 infants at once that she never got around to bonding with the rest. Maybe that helps explain why TFW is not seeming to
be upset that C is gone. Maybe it truly is
not that big of a deal to her.
Seriously, does Milo/Heidi Wallace really think that anyone cares about her enough to care. All these years she's managed to keep herself private, probably because she fears for her life from old those black hearted busybodies (Ii know I left one of those b's out but I forgot it) haters.
