Best portrayal of game night on film? The Break-up! Mind-mouth, mind-mouth, mind-mouth!
These days everything Kate does seems to warrant a fresh shopping spree at Michael's on the company card. Doesn't she have a closet or at least a bin full of art supplies they could raid for these very sort of events like normal mothers?
After all this time TLC still hasn't fixed their TLCgo player, such that every time you pause it, it starts over. Gaa! It's going to be another long night.
Kate had the idea to do family trivia and puts Mady in charge. Sure, Kate, you had the idea. Mady is always in charge, and it's not fair to the other kids. Mady is sipping a crafted iced drink from Starbucks. Those really add up, Kate. Last episode you were just complaining about not having hired help. One can easily spend a couple hundred dollars a month at Starbucks on drinks for them and their kids. That money might be just enough for a monthly housekeeper. It's the little things you spend your money on that make all the difference.
Mady has morphed into a poor man's Kardashian with that thick layer of doll-like makeup and wavy black hair. As per the usual, the kids are annoyed that Kate is trying to micromanage everything.
This is unnecessarily elaborate to the point where you're in danger of this not being fun, which I thought was the whole point. Now Kate and the twins have to go shopping to get team t-shirts? Cara wants grey t-shirts, which Kate vetoes. Why? There's nothing wrong with grey t-shirts. Talk about not picking your battles.
Kate goes on an equally elaborate explanation as to why the twins talk back to her all the time and are so gosh darn disrespectful. You see that's because Kate has made them feel "safe" to say whatever is on their minds. Haha, that's some fine spin there. I've never seen anything like this. My kids are brats because I have made a safe zone for them to be brats? Heh! What idiot parenting.
Hey, Kate, your kids are disrespectful because they are so disrespected by you, and also, because you don't dare ever put your foot down that the way they speak to you is not appropriate. Honest is not the same thing as being mean. It's not cute, it's not free-thinking, it's certainly not funny in the slightest, and you are setting them up for absolute failure in so many aspects of adulthood I don't know where to begin.
Next they head to what is obviously Target to buy sheets and curtains to make the living room look like a game show set. Huh? Why can't they use what they already have around the house? There's nine people in the house, they should have bedsheets galore. What a waste of money.
After a whole lot of bickering back and forth they finally check out with their cart absolutely brimming with sheets and other junk, to which Kate mutters, "That's an expensive game show," as she swipes the company card. Still way cheaper than another dumb vacation, says the bottom line for this episode. I think it's funny that they won't tell you this is Target, because Target's clunky shopping carts and red decor everywhere are so distinctive you'd have to be really dense not to know where they are.
Just in the episode before this Mady was lamenting how mean the younger kids are, but in this episode, Mady is snapping at everyone and overall being a very unpleasant pill. Kate remarks that she sees a lot of herself in her. I agree, especially the way Mady favors the girls. They at least got to cut some colorful paper, while Aaden was ordered to sit still as a soldier in his chair and don't touch anything. Poor guy, he just takes it. I doubt Kate knew what clip they were going to use when Kate said she sees a lot of herself in Mady, which is funny, because they picked the meanest, bossiest clip ever to match up with Kate's statement. Heh.
Collin makes a sudden appearance. I think we had all speculated this was filmed out of order based on the snow on the ground and no puppies, but deceptively, they don't explain that, leading the dumber fans to believe he's back. As usual, Colin looks fine to me. If anything, he's one of the best behaved of the bunch. He obediently helps decorate his team t-shirt, is quiet and well behaved, and with a huge smile on his face, helps to hit the marker and announces the next segment. It's just so incredibly hard to picture a child with this much ability and self-control, having to be institutionalized.
For some reason TLCgo is pushing endless ads for Oregon tourism, which is odd for a show that takes place in Pennsylvania. Why not put these ads on Little People? They live outside Portland. In any case, Oregon really is an awesome place. I recommend Yachats, if you ever get out there.
The game finally starts. It's sort of a cross between Family Feud and Trivial Pursuit. Hey, did anyone see Saturday Night Live's recent Family Feud skit starring Liza Minelli? "You know, it always feels like someone just freed you from a bubble!" Inspired. Also, I love that they're not afraid to take risks, like going full on Liza Minelli skit with the full knowledge that the bulk of their millennial audience might not even know who she is. I could watch SNL game show parodies all day as opposed to this drivel.
The constant power struggle between Kate and Mady gets exhausting at least for this viewer, and you can tell it wears on all the kids. Kate said Mady could be in charge of Game Night, so let her be. Stop trying to micromanage her! It's a stupid game night, what does it matter? Save it for the important things. "Strike one!" Mady snaps, when Kate tries to name the game. Hm, what happens on strike three? Does Kate leave the show? Pretty please! I guess this is the kind of rude talking back that Kate calls Mady feeling "safe." Heh. Hey, does it feel like Kate's explanation of why the twins talk back, because they feel "safe", could easily be something said in an SNL parody of helicopter 2017 mothers? Lol!
The intern kind of ripped off the Price is Right theme song to compose his own little ditty for the game show. Good one.
Already the rules of this game are annoying and being made up as Mady goes along. Who gets to spin the wheel? And what happens if they both ring in at the same time? And once they're allowed to go consult with their team about the answer, then who gets to go first? Mady wings all of this, and already she's changing up the rules. Aaden is not allowed to answer first because he knocked his bell off (Why not tape the bells down with some gaffer tape? Production is sure to have some.). But Joel knocked his bell off on the first go around, as one of the girls pointed out, so how come he got to answer first last round? Stupid. You're better off getting out Pictionary, reading the rules until you understand them, and going for it. You'll have a great time, I promise.
Great, is every question going to prompt an old boring clip of something? I can't even!
At the end of the day these kids genuinely don't like playing with Kate, I believe them when they say that. Her extreme competitiveness is obnoxious, they explain. Of course it is.
Just as we all said years ago, Alexis reveals that the vast majority of these questions she has no clue about because she doesn't remember the vast majority of the things they have filmed. Mind-mouth it, Alexis! Of course she doesn't remember this shit, she was four.
Mady is favoring Cara's team, laments Kate. Shut up, Kate. Shut up, shut up, shut uppppp!
Speaking of four years old, Alexis sulks like a four-year-old after she forgets to ring the bell when she knew the answer, and Leah wins that question because she remembered to ring. Instead of Kate pulling Alexis aside and telling her to grow up, Kate assures her they are still going to win so don't worry about it.
But, what if they don't win? (Spoiler alert: they don't win) And even if they do win, that doesn't mean you shouldn't sulk because you are going to win anyway. You shouldn't sulk because it's childish and stupid. Good grief.
There's still a good 20 minutes left in this episode not even including ads, are they going to do this boring trivia the whole time? (Spoiler alert: yes) On a positive note, Collin looks happy. He's paying attention, participating, and giggling. It's kind of heartbreaking to think he's about to be sent off to an institution.
Kate's philosophy on parenting which she has said before is that she wants kids to know not everyone wins. That's all well and good, but how about teaching kids that not everything is a competition and that some things you should just let go and not worry about, one of them being a family game. Equally valuable to teach children, I propose, is, it's not worth it. Also, you don't need to "teach" kids note everyone wins. Even if you did everything you could to let them win everything, they would still encounter many times where they would lose at school or at a friend's house. They'll learn. Not everything a child learns about life needs to be micromanaged with such purpose by their parents. Let it be once in awhile.
I swear these kids have been programmed to react "it's not fair!" to everything. Alexis goes into a long explanation about how this is not fair because she can't remember any of these past events. Well, number one, her mother says they all watch the episodes all the time, so if Alexis would watch the episodes, she would know as much as anyone who was actually old enough to remember. And number two, the teams actually are fair, Alexis. Each team has three younger children on them, and one older person. Kate on Alexis's team and Cara on the other. Therefore, each team has one person who can remember that far back. Since everyone else has access to the library of episodes and could have watched them, it actually is fair. Arguably, Alexis's team has a slight advantage, because they have Kate, and these episodes go so far back even Cara is a little young to remember them all. The thing with saying something is not fair is that sometimes, it's totally warranted. But you better make sure it actually is unfair before you pull that card. Otherwise, you're just whining.
Alexis is getting herself so worked up she looks a thread away from bursting into tears. Just mind-mouth it, Alexis! Kate again reassures her they're going to win. Oh for Pete sake! At this point even that comment is trite. Even if they do, Alexis is going to feel like yeah they won but it's no thanks to me. Sheesh. That being said, some people just aren't good at trivia, at remembering random useless facts. I'm not the biggest trivia person myself. I remember big picture things more than nuances, and I forget dates and names easily even if I could tell you everything else about what happened. Eventually I'm usually able to recall most things, but I'm not able to do so under the pressure of two or three seconds to draw the information up. So, for someone that just doesn't have a knack for trivia, playing trivia games just isn't fun, I can attest. Still, in life you will now and again end up playing games you don't like. You just have to deal with it and get through it, it'll be over soon. Why doesn't Kate reassure Alexis that not everyone is good at trivia and it's okay, that there are many other things Lex excels at?
Cupcake gate was okay because the kids now laugh about it, explains Kate. Nope, the fact that you laugh later at something does not make it okay in that moment, Kate. For example, Life is Beautiful is a film about an Italian-Jewish prisoner who makes other concentration camp prisoners smile despite their absurd situation. It doesn't make the gas chambers, or shall I say holocaust centers, okay. It's just a way to cope. Does it occur to her the only way the kids can compartmentalize a very upsetting moment in their childhood is to just laugh? Strike two, say I! The kids laugh about cupcake-gate daily, claims Kate. Well, that sounds healthy.
Not the Hannah pooped thing again, let this poor child be!
Because Kate is nuts, she then proceeds to go on some random spiel about how this wasn't about winning. But she just spent the first half of this episode reassuring Lex that they would win, and, she wrote on her team shirt "Who's your winner!" so WTF! She's certifiable.
Clearly the producers put together all these questions, they are starting to get really specific and elaborate, one even has a photo they are to identify (of the turtle hatching).
Mady snaps at Kate that Kate doesn't get to call it when they can go back to their team and discuss the answer. Only Mady can call discussions. I think that's strike three!
Who said, This is awkward? Mady asks. I'm surprised I didn't remember who said that until they show the clip of Kate's staged date with Vann where as soon as she meets the poor guy, she blurts out what she is thinking, "this is awkward." Ohhh, yeah! Lol! Dating tip number one, it will be awkward on the first date, but for God sake, don't say it's awkward!
A very bizarre fight erupts, spearheaded by Leah, who says it's unfair to ask about that episode, which aired in January 2016, because they haven't seen it. I thought they all gather around the boob tube together, holding hands and singing about harmony, to watch these episodes as they air, as Kate paints the picture. Then, even more oddly, Leah blurts out several times that Kate won't let them watch. I'm confused, won't let them watch any episodes, or just the date episode? Kate denies this, saying it's on the TV, go watch it. But why would Leah say that if it had no basis in fact? Really weird exchange there with little explanation of the backstory, leaving my rather curious what that's all about. Did Kate at some point not want them to watch the dating episode, and if so, why not? Was it because the kids know how fake it was? This almost deserves a Reddit conspiracy thread.
I'm struck by the sharp contrast between Kate's contrived relationship with Vann, and Little People, Big World, where both Amy and Matt are in real relationships with new people now. I'm not sure I know how to feel about Amy's boyfriend Chris. Something about me thinks something is off there. And the kids seem a little wary too, which is important to note since they would know. He claims he's happy to be with her, but when after six months she very gently tries to press him on demonstrating a little commitment, he won't agree to anything. Does he even call her his girlfriend, because I haven't heard him say so. He's in his 50's, what is he waiting for at this point? But, I am genuinely convinced it's a real relationship, organic, would happen cameras or not. I just think Amy is going to end up terribly hurt by that guy when he decides on a whim, eh, I'm gonna move on now. In any case, because it's so real, it makes for much better T.V. than Kate's stupid blind date.
Cara's team starts to pull away, and Kate's team starts to get bored because it actually is all about winning for everyone in this room.
Kate dresses up as a clown with a pink wig and passes out popcorn like she did for one of their early birthdays. The kids find her mortifying. Kate thinks she's hilarious.
Once in awhile they show a clip that's not mind-numbingly boring, but rather interesting, this one because of its foreshadowing. In this one they show Kate engaging in a battle of wills with 5-year-old Mady, insisting that Kate must hold her hand on a decidedly not busy New York City sidewalk. Mady is not two, she is five, and perfectly capable of walking alongside her parents without having to hold their hand like a baby. But Kate insists. And what's worse, argues the point with the poor kid, giving her false hope this is a negotiation. It's that kind of repeated, tenacious refusal to give up any control over your child, that breeds a teen like Mady ten years later. Mady woke up one day, probably at age about 13 or 14, and realized she could actually be in control from now on, and it's been misery ever since.
Kate, who says she doesn't care if they win, is sulking and going on about how some question and answer was unfair. I'm too bored to try to figure out why she said that. "That's wrong!" Kate, who doesn't care about winning, gleefully shouts out when the other team misses a question. "I really wanted to win," says Kate. But she just said she didn't care! Brother, she is such a nut job.
Kate announces the prizes toward the end of the game. The winning team picks the takeout and the losers clean up. Sounds like she made that up on the fly. I know that's not that big of a deal as prizes go, but something about that feels very dysfunctional, and I think it breeds unhealthy competition, and bitterness. Why can't they just finish the game and that's it, without this unhealthy focus on winners and losers? How about decide take-out on a majority vote, or rotate who chooses the takeout fairly each time?
More dumb questions and bickering. The only thing interesting that happens is somebody says Kate thinks she's funny, but she's not. Pretty much!
Collin, who apparently has such special needs that he needs to be institutionalized, is the only one to correctly identify and name the liberty bell, in Philadelphia. He gets both the landmark and the city. Whatever, Kate. Where is he?
Cara's team wins, and Cara calls the other team "losers." Sigh.
Of note, this recap took me several weeks to finish because I broke up the chore as I had time to do it. At the beginning of the writing, the TLCgo app was doing its usual crap. But I think the interns may have tweaked the code, because today, it's running much better. It doesn't restart all over when I pause it, and the commercials don't pop up every time I try to move the slider. Thank you, interns! Finally!
It was so much more fun than she thought it could be, remarks Kate. She's said something like that before, and I find that kind of comment odd and kind of mean. Why wouldn't being with your family and talking about the fun things you've done together be just great? Why would it surprise you to have such fun with your family? Weird!
Kate, you're the only loser here.
969 sediments (sic) from readers:
«Oldest ‹Older 801 – 969 of 969 Newer› Newest»I see the girls have a pink tablecloth with their cake, but the boys' cake which you can't really see, is plunked right on the table surface.
I thought Kate's 'famous' cake on the striped plate was what they 'traditionally' have at home for birthdays?
Did you all notice who was absent from that clip they showed (besides Collin)? Cara! Everyone else in the family was there, and even Mady was sitting in a tent talking about the younger kids turning 13, but there was no Cara beside her, picking lint and looking like she'd rather be anywhere on Earth but in front of that camera. I'm sure she will be in the episode somewhere, but she is one who is definitely not going to be on board with filming once she is old enough to say no.
Sorry for so much posting today, but I just got back from a traumatic experience. My baby moved to NYC! Yes, I get it, kids frequently go off and start their own lives far from the watchful eyes of their parents, but that doesn't make it any easier (for the parents, at least) to let go. And I'll admit, NYC is an exciting place to live. But a big piece of my life is far away, and that is rough. So I'm posting a lot and probably eating an entire Entenmann's chocolate fudge cake today. That'll make it better.
I think this kid has been REMOVED from Kate, CPS style. And CPS has done a great job ensuring their role has been kept confidential.
************
We don't know whether or not he was home for his birthday. This is a television show, not reality. He may well have been home for a private celebration. And if he were not, his therapist may have determined that was in his best interest. It doesn't mean that he was placed involuntarily.
Jon claimed that he did not know where his child was. If he is telling the truth, then your theory would mean that he was removed from the home and placed in some type of foster care setting without consulting the father, who you say still has full parental rights and his lack of legal custody is virtually meaningless. Come on, really?
If they've only done the three episodes on the timeline outlined above, and the more I think about it the more likely it seems, TFW must be frantic because the other shows coming back on all seem to have full seasons. And you're right Nicky, she doesn't deserve any empathy AT ALL. We've all seen how she's treated Collin over the years and she can't take any of that back ESPECIALLY the way she treated him when he gave her the mamma/baby bear gift and the hair lecture. Although she's doing some filming it's not nearly what she's used to. Karma may finally be coming home to roost (and she's got the room because she got rid of the chickens).
I don't want to know where Collin is nor do I need to know what his problems are. I'd just like to hear from someone other than TFW that he's OK.

I don't believe Jon. Plus, many placements are confidential from even the parents for everyone's safety. Visits occur elsewhere. So yes it's actually entirely possible a parent does not know where their kid is when cps is involved.
That's true as far as I know. But isn't visitation arranged at a supervised setting in most cases? If Jon knows, he isn't saying.
Couldn't help but notice how glum Kate looked in this clip. Where's Cara?

_____
But then: What would that say about the situation Collin was removed from? I cannot be convinced that it could in any way be blamed on Jon, he hadn't even seen the kid in 18+ months. Although I am coming around to thinking that you must be right in thinking Collin was in fact removed from her home by CPS. If true, how could TLC still continue to do business with her? What sort of story did she tell them, and did they ask for proof of any kind that she was telling the truth?
Did Kate post any pictures around their birthday? Or did she wait a month just to promote the stupid show? Did she get the kids' permission to post anything since she is so concerned about privacy?
I just pulled the video up and did you notice that when the girls said "we're going glamping" there were only two of them? I guess that's so that when the remaining two boys said "and we're going camping" it wouldn't be so obvious that one was missing.
From the TLC FB page:
It all starts with a spooky Halloween spectacular, where the family attempts to convert the old family barn into a haunted house. Everyone gets their creative juices pumping with some handmade costumes and seriously scary decor.
***************************************************
Wow. How the mighty have fallen. Wonder if TLC made her reuse the decorations from the basemen haunted house of several years ago. Even if they didn't or she sold them, I doubt they spent over $1,000 for the decorations and other supplies.
Don't you know she's royally pissed? I still say she's blaming Colin for this slow downward spiral.
Careful there, Barb, you're getting awfully close to the line.
barbgilmer1@kateplusmy8 The girls look happy but the boys don't!
johnpaulbachmann Since in her own words she hated her son and also documented her physical/emotional abuse, that seems unlikely. #kellimorin88
barbgilmer1@kateplusmy8 You might want to post it on twitter for your twitter fans to see that probably don't have an IG account?!
si1974 She shouldn't have taken the picture without him! I now see her true colors. Always new she was not wrapped to tight. Bad decision Kate. He is you child and to do this was an awful thing to do.
TLC are promoting this event as a "three-episode run" not even a mini-season. Shouldn't the headline read Kate Plus 7 (teenagers!) returns.

Jury about to walk into the court room.
If it is a hung jury, can the next judge allow more women to testify against him instead of one or two?
Dear Lord, convict that man.
Uh oh barbgilmer1.....comments like this may get you banned!
Barbgilmer1 @kateplusmy8. The girls look happy but the boys don't!
You're right Barb. In the picture she posted the boy's don't look happy. Could it be because one of them is missing and TFW wants them to keep on keepin' on? Collin who....we've got PUPPIES!

She posted old photos, no current ones. But including Collin.

My, my my. Karma has bit Kate right in her butt with a mini series of 3 episodes. My how the mighty have fallen.
Are these people BLIND? I defy them to produce a picture o the current b'day with all six kids.
cjm5797 Ya'll do realize she posted a picture celebrating all SIX kids on their ACTUAL birthday right... let this family be happy!

It's sheeple. With only four hooves, they can't count up to six.
If they've only done the three episodes on the timeline outlined above, and the more I think about it the more likely it seems, TFW must be frantic because the other shows coming back on all seem to have full seasons.
&&&&
The other series are also getting LOTS of promos and special treatment. Little People does little mini updates during the episodes that are more "current events" like doing a check in on the new little person baby. It's sort of in the style of Andy Cohen with an anchor sometimes interviewing them. Why is Kate never part of that kind of promo? It's funny to know how much she must be seething with this second class crap.
Maybe Collin will make a special guest appearance like Ronnie did for the twins' sweet 16 and then everyone can squeal and run over to hug him. I jest of course lest any trolls take me seriously.
Budget cuts have to have been made. Let's face it, the sweet 16 party was a bit on the mediocre side and the the backyard camping/glamping doesn't look much better.
Jury's deadlocked again, judge says come back Friday and keep going. I think he'll make them go all day Friday then put them out of their misery.
The case really is simple when it comes down to it. The woman testified. You either believe her or you don't. If you don't, and the juror next to you did, it's going to be hard to convince each other your way is correct. People's perceptions of whether someone is lying is subjective. You can't un-convince most people somebody wasn't lying or vice versa when we all saw exactly the same evidence and have no other information outside of that.
If the judge calls it, the prosecution will have an opportunity to pursue a new trial. It's up to them. They'll probably interview the jurors afterward and try to figure out where the weak points were and if they could be overcome. If a bunch of jurors are gonna say well I just didn't believe the victim, I think they'll dump this case. If she's not coming across as believable, regardless what the truth is, there's not much you can do about it.
Jon claimed that he did not know where his child was. If he is telling the truth, then your theory would mean that he was removed from the home and placed in some type of foster care setting without consulting the father,
&&&&
Consulting a father about removal is not the same thing as telling a father where the child is placed. They are not one in the same. Most placements are confidential even treatment centers. Usually only family placements are fine with plastering their address all over the case file.
I wouldn't expect Jon to say one peep about a CPS case and to even lie about it. As a high profile family, they would be under a strict gag order. All CPS cases are usually confidential but the judge can make even more restrictive orders about confidentiality if she darn well wants to, including if the media asks where Colin is, you are not to tell them anything, say you don't know if you have to. There really isn't the gaping hole in this theory that you claim.
To know he's somewhere that's helping him reach his very best potential has been a relief in many ways."
^^^^
This is what People has to write about Collin?
Um, isn't this a year old?
&&&&
Are they acting like this just happened? Oy.
Another possibility is a placement funding through the school district. They do this all the time. Kate's cunning, and she would find a way to do this on somebody else's dime.
We had a case once where the school district was shelling out 20k a month for a placement for a kid like Collin. All I could think about was how smart the parents were to funnel this through an IEP.
In that case, it would be "voluntary" but it could be one of those things where this is your only option unless you want us to take him away without your consent and nobody wants that.
There's one thing true about Kate's statement. You bet it was a giant relief to her.
If it is a hung jury, can the next judge allow more women to testify against him instead of one or two?
-----------
It's not just one or two. The present jury is made up of five females, one black, five white.
There may not be a next trial if the prosecutors decide not to do so.
So K8 reappeared on IG tonight.
kathleenbusbyyy@kateplusmy8 Most of us love you, there will always be mean, jealous and stupid people, don't listen to them!! No matter if you are 100% perfect and 100% innocent idiots will say things. 21 years ago on August 30,1996 I was on my way home from work, it was 6:30 at night, the Friday of Labor Day weekend. As I drove through the intersection with my 4yr old son ( an eight year infertility miracle) I was broadsided by a drunk driver. My son was killed. First idiot comment that was said is " what was I doing on the road at that time?" Idiot just heard holiday weekend and not the fact I was on my way home from work ( not to mention it should not matter what time I was driving). The worst comment came from an idiot from my church who called me 6 weeks after his death on my birthday to ask me if I thought he was taken from me because " I sinned" in conceiving him through G.I.F.T. Procedure ( that is actually approved by my church). Some people are down right hateful and it is their problem not the victims of their hate!! So please don't let any of these hateful people bring you down. You are an amazing mom and I personally think that is the best compliment I can give you! My miracle adopted daughter and I have watched you for 9 years, have your books and DVDs ( we feel we are all friends 😂). Can't wait to " see " you again " my friend 😂". Take care of yourself ❤️
kateplusmy8 I love you, friend😂. I'm so sorry for your loss but thank you SO much for telling me your story... to help me know that you really 'get it' on a personal level. I don't pay much attention to comments from people who know NOTHING (and don't need to) about our situation. I KNOW I am doing the best thing for ALL of my kids despite the sacrifices to all of us! Hope you and your daughter enjoy the new season! @kathleenbusbyyy
And then Milo had to jump in.
miloandjack2016 All drama & negativity needs to be put aside. I well know that until you walk in someone's shoes, you cant assume to know what path is best. Indeed you have a very unique...one of a kind life there...and none of us can stand outside here and judge you. I respect you and acknowledge the enormous daily challenges you have. I also have empathy and fellow feeling ....some decisions we moms have to make rip our hearts apart!!
miloandjack2016 Folks have come to love your kids over the years. How could we not? I think most are just anxious & clearly concerned for Collin. Just give us a brief update when you can... In the end what matters is that you #LoveThemToTheMoonAndBack. Always my best! ❤ @kateplusmy8
miloandjack2016 BTW...Im thrilled to see your kids opted to go camping!! We know how you love sleeping on the ground...and listening to crickets & frogs! 😋 Hope I'm assuming right that you did join them to experience the great outdoors? #HoboLife. LOL. @kateplusmy8
Crickets to Milo. Love, K8.
If it is a hung jury, can the next judge allow more women to testify against him instead of one or two?

It's not really up to the judge what witnesses are called. It's the prosecution's case and they can call however many witnesses they want. One, ten, 100. Subject to a few exceptions. I'm guessing they don't want to bore the jury and instead just put forth a couple of their best. Maybe there was something about the witness's demeanor or look the jury didn't like, I don't know. Maybe they should go with somebody completely different. It's all guesswork. Trial strategy is so interesting. The defense is chilling the champagne bottles, they're almost there. I fear this result may make victims all the more reluctant to want to pursue justice. It's agony to go through the process and there's no guarantee it will work out.
ROL's got a story. A tidbit or two of new info, but who knows how reliable it is.
http://radaronline.com/celebrity-news/kate-gosselin-sextuplets-teens-where-collin/
"RadarOnline.com has learned Collin, who is being treated for “special needs” at a unique facility far from his home, isn’t in any of the promotional photos or videos for Kate’s upcoming tv special celebrating the milestone event. . . .
As Radar exclusively reported, the teen has been sent away to live at a behavioral health facility. . . .
And as part of his program, the new teenager can’t leave for family events and holidays, like Thanksgiving.
“Collin has serious anger issues,” an insider close to the family told Radar. “He frequently lashes out.”
The source claimed much of Collin’s anger stems from his mom and dad, Jon’s, bitter divorce.
“Collin desperately needed a mother and a father,” the source alleged. “Now, he is resentful and blames his mother for everything.”
Layla (#5), awww, bless your heart.
I hope your boy has a wonderful experience in NYC. Hang in there. And, yes, Entenmann's is the cure for many things. And a coupla Hershey bars couldn't hurt either.

TFW so wants to be seen as the noble martyr where the banishment of Collin is concerned. Next she'll be wearing sackcloth and ashes.
Susan1956 (#14), yeah, TFW can't be a happy camper (or glamper). I mean, some Duggar sister no one really talks about is off yodeling in the Swiss Alps on TLC's dime, while America's favorite mom is stuck at Target buying styrofoam tombstones? Stinks to be a side piece.

A facility that does not let a child have home visits for thanksgiving and birthdays is CRUEL. Get him out of there. This is damaging both to him and the other kids. We deal with children with very serious mental health needs all the time and the very first thing you do is ensure that the whole family is getting plenty of contact, even if it has to be monitored. F that!
His anger is because he was physically and emotionally abused and his relationship with his father was sabotaged by Kate. Yeah, I'm not surprised a certain kid gets to a point where he can no longer handle it. He sounds so angry at Kate perhaps it's him who is refusing visits. And that's the karma with estranging your parents Kate. Your kids learn it's an option.
Sad but true (#28), I'll give Gladys a lifetime supply of vanilla envelopes if she can name ONE of the "enormous daily challenges" she believes TFW faces. She has created some martyr mother story out of whole cloth. Some poor, suffering, misunderstood soul who would move heaven and earth to help her children. Yesterday Gladys even used the word "broken" to describe TFW's suffering. Help me, Rhonda.
I promise this is not a political story. I read that former FBI director James Comey had a son named Collin (same spelling), too. But his little Collin died at 9 days old. I wouldn't wish that sort of pain on my worst enemy.
Admin (#29), why do I have the feeling that if Cosby is cleared, someone will offer him a reality show, and/ or a book deal?
How do you post a picture of 5 of your 6 "little kids" and are cheerful as if the 6th isn't missing. I truly believe at the end everybody answers for what they do in this life, one way or another, so at least there's that. Not much else I can say right now, I'm too heartbroken for the boy that's not even mentioned and who is probably never coming home.

That's not Collin's arm that's one of the girls. What treatment facility doesn't allow a boy to go home for his birthday?
I think this kid has been REMOVED from Kate, CPS style. And CPS has done a great job ensuring their role has been kept confidential.
---------------
Can CPS remove just one child? I mean, once a kid is in danger, isn't the logical step to remove all kids and not take any chances? Or are you saying CPS ordered Collin be send to a facility? Genuinely asking, not challenging what you are saying, I don't know too well how CPS works in the U.S.
Sad but true...
If true, how could TLC still continue to do business with her? What sort of story did she tell them, and did they ask for proof of any kind that she was telling the truth?
-----
TLC is still filming the Duggars, the only reason they are not (currently) filming Josh is because they are afraid of backlash. I think it's safe to assume TLC doesn't care what someone has done as long as they are making $$$.
I don't believe Jon. Plus, many placements are confidential from even the parents for everyone's safety. Visits occur elsewhere. So yes it's actually entirely possible a parent does not know where their kid is when cps is involved.
$$$$$
Jon specifically stated that Kate would not tell him where his child is, so he has to be lying for your claim to be true. Your lecture about CPS keeping placements confidential was completely unnecessary. Your argument hinges on John being a liar, period.
I would love to know whether, from the age of 5 when Collin and Alexis had to leave LCDS for 6 months up until the time Collin had to leave home, Kate did anything at all in the way of therapy for this kid. Because on the surface, she sure pretended all was well until he had to leave school again at the age of 10. And the show certainly didn't present a child with anger issues so grave that he couldn't live at home anymore. The fact that this was never mentioned has nothing to do with protecting Collin's privacy and everything to do with Kate protecting the facade she created to deceive the public.
The last non-staged photo I can recall of what looked like a happy Collin was the photo posted of him and one of Liz's dogs (the GF before Colleen who he was with for 2-3 years). This was the pitbull photo that set Kate off on Twitter about how dangerous it was for her kids to be around those dogs. I believe C was maybe 9 at the time and still visiting his dad. Filming had ceased by this time and, despite K8's relentless efforts, there were few candid photos of any Gosselins being published.
Can CPS remove just one child? I mean, once a kid is in danger, isn't the logical step to remove all kids and not take any chances
&&&&
Absolutely they can just remove one, two, all, none, any combination they like.
CPS looks at each child individually, and assesses the risk to each child individually.
If the issue is Kate is unable to handle a child with mental health and anger issues, and the other children don't present with the same challenges, absolutely they will only remove the child she is unable to handle.
Other scenarios are a mother who is on drugs who has a new baby, but also has teenagers. Because the teens are older and able to care for themselves on their own even if mom is drugged out, they may remove the baby but leave the other children home.
Another scenario is a targeted child, only one child being abused. If CPS assesses that there is absolutely no risk to the other children, they might not remove them but treat them with in home services instead.
The goal of CPS is to keep children AT HOME, so you always want to try to remove as few children as possible as long as it is safe to do so.
Usually that's all of them, but there are many scenarios where it's not.
kateplusmy8 I don't pay much attention to comments from people who know NOTHING (and don't need to) about our situation. I KNOW I am doing the best thing for ALL of my kids despite the sacrifices to all of us!
------
WTF? The public would TRULY know nothing about Collin's PRIVATE issues if SHE had STFU and not broadcast them to the world!
&&&&
Geez! She opened the barn door. People wouldn't be talking but for her. She really is certifiable, and a huge gas lighter.
The other thing is that her supreme confidence in her choices is a red flag she is actually not doing what's best for him. A parent truly doing what's best for a child by SENDING THEM AWAY FOR A YEAR is always, always going to question and wonder if they are doing the right thing. Day after day. She should be waking up in the middle of the night with anxiety about this. If you're 100% sure about something this drastic, chances are there is something very wrong with you. Nobody feels that way who truly loves their child.
A little humble pie would serve her well.
Is Joel the only Gosselin that hasn't had braces?
Admin (#44), I was just about to make the same gaslighting observation. SHE chose a public forum to reveal her son was sent away. SHE told us he had a fluid diagnosis. SHE said he had behavioral challenges. SHE explained his troubles effected not only him and herself, but were taking her time away from her other kids, so it was best to send him away. She didn't have a gun to her head when she made those extremely personal revelations.
On the contrary: she scored herself a People magazine cover story, grinning like a chimp, and collected a paycheck for it. Give that a minute to sink in: she PROFITED off her son's tragedy.
So how can she now declare that we "know NOTHING?"
For the effity-billionth time, she said for all the world to hear, "We made our life your business." She allowed cameras to show her kids on potties, with their pants around their ankles. She allowed cameras to show her marriage implode in real time, along with the intimate reactions
of her 8 minor children. And on and on and on.
But like the 12-year-old she is, she wants to have her cake and eat it to. Suck it up, buttercup. You. Asked. For. This.
Kate's defensiveness says it all.
What the hell could a kid have done to never have him come home again and sleep in his own bed? Not even for his birthday-2 birthdays in a row.
Sorry, Kate. I'm not buying it.
I truly do not believe that one day, we'll all find out just how Collin really needed to be cut out of your lives like a boil.
Nope.
Collin is never going to live with his mother again.
Seeing the 5 tups once again celebrating their birthday without the brother the shared a womb with makes me sick. It also makes me angry at Jon all over again.
Get your boy home!!!!
I think Collin was definitely targeted. Kate never bonded with him and she cannot mother him. I don't even think she cares enough to fake it.
Watching her discipline Collin for the cameras was so uncomfortable. She was so detached and felt nothing for him.
It was sickening to watch her excoriate Collin on camera for stupid flippant comment that any sister gets from her brother at one time or another.

I feel the same way. It is beyond misguided to film ANOTHER birthday without Collin.
I'm sure Kate will address Collin in the episode, but it will be some B.S. pablum yada yada...
Aaden and Joel didn't look happy to me, and the girls looked short of joyful.
I'm very pleased that Kate only got 3 episodes and 1 trip which sounds low budget.
OTOH, it makes me sick that they're done filming and all Kate can talk about is how her kids have NOTHING planned all summer long.

There's a lot broken about Kate Gosselin, but it's all self-inflicted and pales in comparison to a son rejected by his mother.
Collin is the one who is suffering.
I have doubts that he has seen his siblings. That would mean that they communicate and that would mean they could tell Jon where Collin is.
I feel SO badly for the Warmbiers. I can't being to imagine sending your son away whole, and getting him back in a vegetative state, KNOWING North Korea did this to him and knew for a year that he was permanently brain damaged.

What professional would advocate that a child never go home to visit?
It's beyond abuse.
Even if a child doesn't want to see his mother, he should be sent to visit with Jon, at his safe home, and see his brothers and sisters.
It's evil!

Kate would say the same exact thing regarding her parents, her sisters, her brother, Jon, Bob and Beth, Jon's entire family (except the ones who proved temporarily useful for an episode filmed in Annapolis, Md.), the staff of volunteers, her church...
This comment assures me that Kate made this decision for herself and is using her kids to justify it.
And as part of his program, the new teenager can’t leave for family events and holidays, like Thanksgiving.
“Collin has serious anger issues,” an insider close to the family told Radar. “He frequently lashes out.”

Oh, well then, by all means, banish the child!!!!
If whatever facility he's in hasn't managed to get this boy to the point of visiting home and repairing his relationship with his parents, they should have their license to treat patients revoked.
#majorfail
Well, I was on the right track with the Coleman go kart. It looks like Coleman gave Kate another truckload of free shit for the camping/glamping.
And OMG, Kate's face is frozen!
At some point, women's faces begin to show the work and injections. Kate is incapable of moving her facial muscles!
Her face looks like Silly Putty.
If you actually go to the comments on that photo its not just the haters asking for collin's where abouts.I see fans like Milo who are asking Kate for an update on whether Collin is ok.I think even some fans are waking up(hopefully)and not liking the fact that Kate is celebrating another birthday without C again.I don't know what Collin's issues are but like some of the fans are asking, why can't he be home for his birthday? If he's home, why can't they film him?I thought Kate said all 8 kids loved filming and that it doesn't harm any of them?So if what Kate said is true then surely the facility wouldn't mind filming if Collin loves it so much.Either the facility said that filming is the problem or what the hell kind of issues would Collin have to be away for a year and a half and not to mention no filming him?

Maybe she's under orders not to say anything. From whom, I don't know, but it's possible.
It's not like anyone expects the tups' birthday not to be celebrated because their brother can't be there to share it. It's making it OTT and then plastering it all over TV and the tab media that's a problem. I wonder that K8---and her fan base---can't seem to understand this. I'm sure the remaining 5 were not clamoring to have yet another b'day be yet another episode.
Jury's deadlocked again, judge says come back Friday and keep going. I think he'll make them go all day Friday then put them out of their misery.
--------------
It's a sequestered jury. Where do they go to get out of their misery?
Let's hope they can wrap this up before the weekend. I have a feeling, though, that no verdict will be reached.
Post #46 is me -- the computer ate half of my name. I blame Jon -- isn't everything his fault?
I find it bizarre that a fan shared that horrifying story about losing her son, and TFW replied that she loved her. But I guess what TFW saw in the woman's words were, "You're right and they're wrong." And maybe that vindication is enough to make her love someone. But, man, she should have learned by now to be more careful with her words. It's a crazy world.
Let me take a wild guess. If the Sheep have read the ROL article, they are blaming Jon for Collin's alleged anger/behavior issues because of the divorce.
Isn't everything all Jon's fault?
OT- Michell Carter, the texting suicide woman who encouraged and goaded a young man into killing himself in a car with carbon monoxide is...guilty of involuntary manslaughter.
Sentence to follow.
Layla (#5) -- There are several moms here who understand just how you feel. We can resurrect the "trauma" of waving goodbye with a huge lump in our throat.
Kate, there are several mom here who don't understand YOU at all. I don't believe for a second that she is suffering from her "difficult" decision.

It's mind boggling.
Of course everyone should be happy, but please, the dysfunction is so beyond the pale, and sheep just choose ignorance in order that little kids can continue entertaining them.
Kate obviously addresses Collin's situation publicly. It speaks VOLUMES that she's defensive and has not ONE thing to say regarding his progress or returning home.

It couldn't possibly be that Kate chose to use her divorce as a platform to launch her popularity to the next level. It couldn't be that Kate chose to keep the cameras rolling, put her face on every magazine possible and sit on every tv couch who would have her?
Her son, Collin, was obviously severely distressed by the paparazzi and attention, but she refused to pull back to protect her children and put the pedal to the metal, milking her family's trauma for everything she could.
It couldn't be that she did her level best to ruin Jon financially, then tried to put him in prison!

I guess Collin doesn't have braces as well as Joel.
I agree Collin was targeted due to his defiance. But basically what we saw on TV was the most mature, helpful and bright of the boy tups.So he teased Hannah about her hair- sibling stuff. the girls were always quick to tell on him. Maybe H realized how bad Collin's treatment was getting when she told Jon and refused to come home. That incident was also very odd.But there's so much we don't know.
Tucker's Mom (#66), excellent point. TFW bragged that as a producer, she knew best how to show her family. So I suppose she decided to show C saying something negative to her sister, and then her June Cleaver self reading him the riot act about it.

You know, reading my response here, it occurs to me that highlighting Collin's behavior served to show how difficult he was, and how deciding to throw him out of the home was necessary.
You know, for the safety, well being and future of the remaining kids.
Get a Deckster, lose a kid.
It served Kate to show Collin in a bad light. Totally served her to build a case and not get blowback when she plastered everyone sans Collin on People magazine.

Cosby judge announcement in a few minutes.
Please, Jesus, let this predator be convicted!
Dmasy, thanks for the offer of Coffee Crisps! I am so hooked. I'm temporarily out because the DS who moved also loves them. I slipped the ones I had into one of his bags, and he found them while unpacking. He posted about it on Facebook, with a sweet shout-out to me. It's hard for him, too--we're a very tight family. But getting to experience life in the big city is an experience I don't want him to miss. He'll just have to plan on a lot of visits from family.
Kate's awfully defensive about the choices she's made for the kids, isn't she? No mother can ever be sure she is always doing the right thing. We second-guess ourselves all the time, especially when you're talking about institutionalizing an 11-year-old boy. How can she not ask herself every day whether she could have found some kind of in-home treatment, family therapy--anything except sending him away. And the choices she has made are NOT in her kids' best interests. Remember when the show was cancelled and she said the first thing the kids asked was whether they would be able to stay in their house and their school? They were 7 years old, and they already understood their responsibility for providing for the family. They knew the show depended upon them to stay afloat, and without it they could lose everything. Now just stop and consider the pressure there was on those little 7-year-olds to provide that kind of lifestyle for themselves and their mother. How can any mother think that is the best thing for their kids?
Tucker's Mom (56)
Yes, I'm sure she's been grifting like a maniac now that there are fewer episodes. She needs to get as much loot as possible for each and every one. I get the feeling that her job as "producer" involves nothing but grifting for free stuff because the show's budget is so small. They already got a truckload of stuff from Coleman for other camping episodes (I think they did a backyard one when Jon was still there, and another backyard camp-out at the new house). That stuff has long since been sold, I'm sure, so now she went begging for more. And a birthday present she wouldn't have to pay for.
I wonder if any of that stuff was ever used again after filming. They have gotten a lot of great stuff. Remember the episode where they watched a movie out on the lawn? We got one of those projectors (an Epson one, plus a 100" folding screen) and we love it! The most fun thing was setting it up in the driveway on Halloween and playing Halloween cartoons. After trick-or-treating, all the neighbors came over and we munched popcorn and watched the cartoons (The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is a Halloween tradition at our house, no matter how old the boys get). Good times! They could get so much use out of all that stuff, but she has never mentioned camping in the yard again, or watching a movie outside (or inside) on the big screen, or any of the other great ways they could "make memories" with the stuff they already had. Seems like if there's no filming involved, then she won't allow those memories to be made.
I hadn't noticed that TLC put up the K+8 announcement on their OWN page as well as the one they run for K8. The comments there are overall pretty brutal, much worse than on the K8 page. There's a lot of disgust that K8 is back but Little Couple is not.
XXXXX Once she tried to get a special needs person fired at our local store I never felt the same about her again.
XXXXX I hope that TLC is listening and hopefully Kate is reading. I've been over Kate and her rude children for years. She seems to always have her hands out grabbing what she can get, i.e. Alaska, Australia, play houses for the kids, super sized laundry machines... I wonder what elaborate vacations or big ticket items she's got on her list for this summer? The Kate gravy train has come to an end and it's time the network pulls the plug and maybe in 10 years it might be worth the revisit because the kids will be grown and will have perspective on their experiences.
XXXXX You cannot with any sense believe this woman is " normal". She is such a control freak, there is no denying her oldest kids are the rudest ever. Just cuz you don't like the reality of this show , you think the truth should not be told. You can't say " we are all criticizing " when that is exactly what YOU are doing !!! 👿👿👿👿
XXXXX She wants to be such a Hollywood star it's pathetic. Using her kids anyway she can to make money. When they were first on I was an avid watcher but as her controlling and hateful behavior appeared I will never watch this show ever again!!!!
XXXXX Jesus, these kids won't know what to do for their birthday once the cameras stop rolling....why do they make a big production out of their Birthday every year. Keep it in the family, not on air.
XXXXX Quit paying her the big 💰💰💰💰bucks to see her sorry excuse of a family of teenage brats on TV!! Your station is so pathetic, I don't watch anything on it anymore. I haven't read any of the other posts yet but I'll bet my bottom $$$$ there are very few of us who are happy that crappy show is coming back
Can you even begin to imagine how hurtful it is for Collin to see his brothers and sisters get these lavish birthdays without him?
---------------------
Does he see them? I mean, perhaps they monitor what he watches so he does't get upset.
Tucker's Mom (#72), and how will C feel when he sees that fantastic space camp adventure he was left out of? Notice producer extraordinaire TFW, who knows best how to show her family, didn't even bother to edit in a line about wishing C could've been there, or that it would've been more fun if he had been a part of it, or that she hopes they can go back some day with C. Because none of that is true. She can't even fake that kind of emotion. Look how thrilled she was with that fan's acknowledgement of what a good mom she is. She wants the acclaim without the effort.

There are a lot of bad things about this entire situation but seeing you ask that painted a horrible picture in my mind: Collin, in some room, in some place, surrounded by strangers, not having seen his mom or dad or siblings in over a year, watching the show on TLC to see what his family has been up to since he last saw them. I imagine his TV is monitored though so that wouldn't happen, thankfully. Also, I hope he has seen his family and we just don't know about it.

I find it odd that TLC are promoting the upcoming shows as a three episode "run" - not a season or mini-season. I can't say I've ever heard three episodes described as a "run" before; but then I don't watch TLC.

Tucker's Mom (#90), what you just mentioned is what TFW describes as "chaotic fun." Since the concept of fun is one that she doesn't believe in (at least not when her 7 little albatrosses are involved), I do believe it does take quite a lot of effort to pretend she's having it.
Of course, the chaos part is second nature to her.

Interesting. It's a bit of a stretch to call 3 widely-spaced episodes a season.
I don't even want to think it, but this could be the end of regular filming of Kate Plus 8.
One can hope.
I hope the boys are telling Kate that they're not playing.
That would make 3 kids refusing or not really cooperating with filming and the b.s. couch sessions.

More scathing comments. Collin's absence is playing a very big factor in the reactions.
Interesting that TFW ignored all the comments celebrating C's return when he appeared in that out-of-sequence family game night episode, but now she's volunteered that he's still gone.
Tucker's Mom (95)
Collin is gone, and there was no sign of Cara in the promo clip. The boys didn't look thrilled in their scenes. Did you notice that all they showed Kate doing was complaining? No insights into how it feels to have 6 kids transitioning from childhood to their teens at once. Just complaints about the expense of feeding them all and college. Really? That's all she has to say? Even more telling is that TLC decided to include her complaints in the promo clip. Not a single positive comment about any of them. She's showing no love for her kids, and TLC is showing no love for her.
Tucker's Mom (88)
The projectors are so amazing! We have an Epson Home Cinema 1440. It's pricy, but they do have used ones available on Amazon. We use ours in the basement rec room with a big screen (we don't have one of those fancy-schmancy theater rooms), and it's like being in a theater. It's easy to set it up outside, too. We're going to do that again on the 4th of July--a cookout on the patio and movies and fireworks afterward. And we're doing it all without filming!

I'm very surprised there's no People cover yet, which of course, is always about controlling the narrative and giving Kate a chance to defend herself.
She's going to have to address it on the show.
Kate will probably do some press before the first episode. You'd have to be braindead to not officially recognize that the then 11, now 13-year old boy has been cast out of his home.

God, she's obnoxious.
I think it kills her to think about letting the kids actually have their college money. There's no other way to thin about it. Kate thinks that money is hers until it isn't hers.
Any parent who saves for their kid's college fund never thinks of that money as theirs, so why would they dread using it?
Those kids' college funds have been in place for a decade.
What is she bitching about?
And feeding them? I so doubt Kate is allowing the kids to eat at will and i also doubt she's going to keep up the calorie demands for her boys now that they've hit puberty.

I'm starting to think Katie Coyne's bosses have put the kibosh on future People covers for her bestie Kate Gosselin.
As far as doing the press rounds, who would have her at this point? After the Today Show debacle and the GMA "I'm the only one who knows where Colin", what's left? I don't see either The View (Goldie hates her) & The Talk (Sharon hates her), the only thing left is the entertainment fluff shows. I just don't think anyone is interested/taking her calls.
Tucker's Mom #67
It couldn't possibly be that Kate chose to use her divorce as a platform to launch her popularity to the next level. It couldn't be that Kate chose to keep the cameras rolling, put her face on every magazine possible and sit on every tv couch who would have her?
Her son, Collin, was obviously severely distressed by the paparazzi and attention, but she refused to pull back to protect her children and put the pedal to the metal, milking her family's trauma for everything she could.
It couldn't be that she did her level best to ruin Jon financially, then tried to put him in prison!
*************
*Stands up and claps* This, a million times THIS!! What do you do when your child is in distress? You shut down the circus and deal with his issues PRIVATELY! You and your family hunker down and go to therapy and do the exercises you are told to do and you keep them close and love on them and help them heal. You don't go on national TV and say "The Show Must Go On!" "We can't go back, there is no turning back!" My goodness, WHY is that so hard for people to understand????????? Even if she felt that way at first, like she was going to be a strong 'mama' for these kids and keep moving forward, at the first sign of distress, she should have said "whoa, this is not good for my kids" and shut the cameras down. Even then if C still needed to be sent away (which I don't think he would have), no one would have known any different because they'd be living a private life.

It's very little in comparison to her heyday when Lori Goldberg would shadow her and reign in her crazy and spending binges!

Remember when poor Collin would cover his face?
I truly believe that whatever Collin's issues are, it didn't have to come to this.
If what we saw with Kate drubbing on Collin for the cameras is the extent of and what it looks like for her "trying", then Collin never stood a chance.
Tucker's Mom (103)
I have a sneaking suspicion that the money put into trust for the kids' college isn't all there now. Kate can dip into it for the kids' expenses, and I think she has helped herself far more than she should, probably thinking that she could film the kids all the way through their college years and use that money to pay for their schooling. But she only got 8 episodes last season, there are only 3 this season/run/whatever, and ratings are terrible. She had a few years of raking in millions, and we all know she would give anything to make that happen again. Those days are over. She'll get a few episodes here and there, but the nonstop filming she so desperately desires is not going to happen again.
Let's be real here--she hasn't raked in the huge paychecks since 2011. How much has she spent just on her legal messes since then? I have no doubt that suing Jon and Robert "for the safety of the kids" came out of the kids' money. Otherwise, why say it's for the kids? It had nothing to do with them. The Deckster was surely paid for by them because it was "for their health and welfare". Anything she could link to them was paid for by them. And now she only has a couple years until the first two kids start college, and only a few years after that until the others start. If the money isn't there, the world will hear about it. I guess we know why she's complaining so much (at their 13th birthday party!) about how much they cost her. She's already trying to control the future narrative.
Kris (105)
YES! Kate mentioned many times, years ago, that the kids needed therapy after the divorce. But she never mentioned them actually getting the therapy they needed. As long as they could film, she ignored their emotional needs. All those years when Collin would clap his hands over his eyes at the sight of paparazzi--he was struggling even them, but she ignored it and just shoved him in front of more cameras. When Collin and Alexis were expelled from kindergarten, she lied and tried to cover it up rather than stop to consider their emotional needs. She ignored her kids' struggles, lied, pretended, and exploited them until one of them finally had to be removed from the home. All those years, all those signs she ignored--all for filming. She did this to him. She could have helped Collin years ago. She didn't. There are no maternal feelings there. None.

Oh, I would bet the store on it. I can't recall exactly how the trust is worded, but she's probably justified every withdrawal from the kids' trusts she's ever made. She's assumed the show would go on forever and I've always thought most if not all of the kids' private school tuition is paid by the kids' show earnings every year so she may be worried about the coming year's tuition bill. I hope it keeps her awake nights worrying about using more of her own money to maintain their lifestyle.
Oh no, the Cosby jury asked the judge to define reasonable doubt!
They should have that in their packet given to them upon start of deliberations. Read it. Good lord.
I guess the defense has made some mistrial motions today, but the judge told them to go tell it to a fencepost. He's making these jurors go at it even beyond today, it looks like. Geez Louise!
It's not like anyone expects the tups' birthday not to be celebrated because their brother can't be there to share it. It's making it OTT and then plastering it all over TV and the tab media that's a problem.

Exactly, it's a somewhat subtle distinction. Nobody is saying the other children shouldn't continue to have fun, to celebrate birthdays and holidays, and live their lives.
But, we're also not saying the family should move on without Collin like this is OKAY. Film without him and go on all these trips like the poor guy never even existed!!
There's a balance here she's nowhere even close to striking, and no you can't hide it behind "I do what is in the best interest of my kids and so you can just butt out." Nobody is buying that crap anymore, much less many of her own sheeple.

After serving on a jury myself, and watching interviews of jurors on big cases like Casey Anthony, I really am losing faith in juries.
Some people really are too stupid to understand intermediate level concepts like reasonable doubt. I'm all for a jury of your peers but they also need to be able to grasp those things.
After five whole days you finally ask for clarification on reasonable doubt? You know the whole standard you're supposed to be deliberating under all this time? Shaking my head.

Kate said that "not a dollar was spent (on the deck) that wasn't mine", and also that she had saved since they moved in to pay for it. Considering that TLC is obviously not putting any major cash into the show now, I do not think they paid. But--I don't necessarily think it was "Kate's" money. She has access to the kids' money, and I think she believes it to be hers to use as she sees fit--for the kids, of course. And I think she grifted hard for a big discount on it too.
Once upon a time Kate was able to demand that TLC pay for things or they wouldn't be allowed to film it. But now--well, they could just say, "Fine, we won't film it", and she'd be out a paycheck for an episode. They are in charge now, not her. And that's never gonna change!

Wow, that's right. They DROVE from PA to VT. Unless they made the drive there and back part of the episode, that's a helluva journey with all those people by van. I bet the twins in particular just hated it.
So the photo posted yesterday is up to 11.5K likes. Out of a supposed follower base of 151K, that's 7.6%. I'm sure it's nice to see that big follower number, but none of her posts has come close to backing that up with an actual click from a real person. IG is a little more refined than Twitter in the sense that you can actually get a sense of who's paying attention and who cares. So either 92+% of her IG followers don't give a crap about her or her photos anymore, or some substantial portion of those, like the 75K that showed up overnight several months back, are purchased. More likely, it's a combination of both.

I doubt that Kate will say anything about Collin unless she gets a paycheck for it. If People offered her a cover and a fat paycheck, then she'd give an update. I doubt that TLC wants her to go into much detail, since they are the ones who spent many years filming a child who had emotional issues and shouldn't have been forced to film.
Tucker's Mom (118)
Only 3 episodes, and all of them low budget. Decorating the barn and making costumes? The last Halloween they had a whole haunted house set up in their basement. The trip to Vermont or wherever--looks like she had to drive, and they would have probably had a lot of filming crammed into a very short time, then the long drive home. And then the birthday party, which is not on the same scale as past ones. A carnival in the yard--a trip to Florida--those days are over. And she better forget about any further TLC-funded trips to Australia or Cancun. Those days are over!

Maybe TLC sent THEIR lawyers over to JimBob's house to lay it out for them. I don't think he had a prayer of getting anything out of it except more public contempt for himself and his family. And I wouldn't be surprised if TLC couched it in those terms. Somebody needs to teach JB there are limits to his hypocrisy.

I don't agree. I don't care if she said anything about his return to filming. It has nothing to do with our concerns about Collin and we still question his departure from his family, filming or no filming.

These 3 episodes took about 8 months to film. The Halloween one in October, the spring break in Feb or March and the birthday in June. The 8 episodes for the last season took a year to film. So looking at the rate of filming, it would be very difficult to have a whole season filmed and ready to go in December/January. They normally film vacations over the summer, and IIRC, the vacation episodes were some of the lowest-rated ones last season. The entire season got terrible ratings. I believe that TLC will continue to film episodes to use as filler, but it would be surprising if they did any long seasons in the future. Kate Plus 8 is one of the lowest--if not THE lowest--rated show on TLC. Why would they put the money into tons of filming without any hope of good ratings? They will probably wait to see how the ratings turn out for this "run" before they commit to any extensive
filming.

I'm thoroughly convinced that Camille Cosby lives in an alternate universe that she created for herself a very long time ago.
At some point, she told herself that this was her life and she would make a deal with the devil to keep her immense wealth, privilege and station in life, otherwise, lose everything that she knew and became accustomed to, and go back to being a nobody.
That is no marriage. It's an arrangement.
Just because someone does not understand legal concepts, that does not make the person "an idiot." Not everyone aspires to be an attorney and jury duty is mandatory. It's equivalent to mandating someone to work in the emergency room with no medical training. It is a fundamentally flawed system. No need to insult people fulfilling their civic responsibility.
$$$
When you're on a jury you are given a packet that explains everything in easy to understand terms. They don't just tell you use the reasonable doubt standard, they give you a thorough explanation of it and even examples. You can read it and refer to it as much as you like. I'm So yeah, if you're still asking the judge to explain it you're an idiot. A surprising number of Americans are really stupid. That's just a fact. I agree with you though the jury system doesn't work.

It doesn't work like that. Every single juror must agree on the verdict. They're actually better off having 5 or 6 jurors, less likely to disagree.
I would be scared to death to let my fate rest in a jury of my peers. Between the chances sheer dumbness, intellectual laziness and bias, I think it's like deciding your destiny with a coin flip.

The concept behind it, in theory, isn't bad. The idea is that the king or other leader doesn't get to condemn you, which comes with a host of problems--what if he doesn't like your clan, or what if he is an especially cruel king, etc. Rather, your own brothers and sisters must wield the sword. One would presume regular people just like you are going to be the most fair. And, a whopping 12 people must agree before you are punished. If only one person can't get there, you go free. This provides a 12 layer check before we do something serious to someone like put them away or even kill them.
I think there are a couple things going on in modern life that are exposing huge flaws in the system. For one, trials can be a whole lot more complicated in modern times. DNA, video evidence, audio evidence, expert witnesses on science that maybe is still junk, complicated forensics. A lot of things are going over people's heads. And two, I think there was an expectation in the olden days that the average person would be so in awe of their responsibility on a jury that up until the moment they were placed on the jury they would have been reading the newspaper and following other cases and have a good understanding of the legal system. There was this faith in the common man they were smart (they're not always.) People that served on juries were usually men and educated. We opened it up to everyone and now look what happened.
Another problem with long trials is that many people can't afford to leave work, so the judge will let them off. You end up with a bunch of people who don't work, which COULD be a red flag something is off (not saying it is, just saying it could be), or a bunch of retirees or stupid college kids who are more likely to be scatter brained. You're not getting the town doctor, teachers, or clock maker for anything all that complicated. They simply can't do it.
It's an interesting system and we'll see where it goes in the future.
Admin (#162), when that poor woman tried to sue TFW and came up empty, it was an exercise in shrew-tility.

Maybe there are three episodes because it's going to be a 3 part summer special. ☺
I'm not of the loop. Are these shows on the summer schedule?
Admin (#162), when that poor woman tried to sue TFW and came up empty, it was an exercise in shrew-tility.

I read this as Shrew-titty. Geez, I need to quit drinking.

The judge ruled in favor of Sylvia LaFair and against Kate. Kate appealed, I believe and dragged the case on, and outspent LaFair.
LaFair dropped the case or just didn't pursue it further because she was spending more money than she'd ever recoup from Kate, moreover, she knew she was giving Kate exactly what she wanted.
So, LaFair stopped giving Kate the attention and satisfaction.
Kate claimed victory and vindication just like Cosby, and in Kate's mind, she indeed did win.
It's amazing what she's gotten away with.
Trial by jury of the peers. It's not infallible, but at least there are 12 people sitting there and not just three or four. Cam you imagine just a few people who throw up their hands, say "Convict the SOB" because they have something to do or somewhere to go?
Haha, I just went to look at her IG for the first time. She's got a photo of a lump of rising bread dough with 31.7K likes and almost 500 comments! K8's social-media game is woefully inadequate.

Is there a photo of it slicing the bread as it bakes?
Camille is pathetic.

If you believe in a system that makes it very difficult to convict, which generally I do, part of that is accepting that some people will go free even though they're guilty. You believe that it is better to have a guilty man go free than an innocent be convicted.
It's just hard to watch a guilty man go free on a case you get invested in.
But, they're going to try again. It's not over. He's not "not guilty", no matter what his wife says. Not yet.
<======Totally OT but Zima is back for a limited time. I bought a six pack today and may become a hoarder. Don't hate, but I always did like an icy ❄️ cold Zima in the summer!
I'm thinking there would be a lot of pressure on that 13th person. They would essentially be deciding, by casting their vote. If nothing else, I feel like that's a lot to handle psychologically.

It's not a tie breaking scenario. I have a feeling that the next trial will go exactly the same way, unless the prosecutor can put something together in the form of evidence, rather than Cosby's word against her word.
Camille should keep her mouth shut. What an idiot, slamming the district attorney and the judge. I hear she demanded a recording of "Stand By Your Man," as they exited the courtroom.
Just kidding.
New post, see ya there.
