- The best news of all is that at least one of the children, and hopefully all of them, are now listed as having a Guardian ad Litem, family law attorney Lauren Marks, who is a party to the case and invited to respond to any motions or requests. Marks' bio reveals she's a Penn State grad with experience as a public defender as well as experience as a GAL in "highly litigious" cases. She seems to be over qualified for this post!
- Kate filed an appeal of an order in May three days late, to which the Courts asked her to "show cause" (I.e. explain) why the appeal should be heard. On June 14, they "quashed" the appeal due to her tardiness, which means she can no longer appeal.
- The filing fee to file Kate's appeal was $90.50. Not to mention attorneys fees, of course.
- A briefing schedule is in place, which basically means deadlines to turn in your documents, with a brief due Monday July 9 for Kate. It's unclear what the briefing relates to.

Lol, best to be avoided.
They're everywhere though now.....no escape.
I always found it slightly amusing to see the contrast between Zach, the anti-hipster, and Jeremy, hipster's god.
Admin (#193), I suspect there's more to this Jeremy and Audrey story than we know about. Judging by their rambling social media posts, they think every word out of their twentysomething mouths is profound.
&&&
Profound, yep.
Oh, god, her solo blog is gag inducing!
What do you think this is about? Is it just plain old arrogance, thinking they can actually make a go of this fake business if they just didn't have the show to worry about anymore?
Admin (#2), I find it suspicious that in the announcement, Jeremy said he decided a year ago that this would be their last season. For pete's sake, these 2 shared the details of their baby's conception. Are we to believe they kept this huge decision secret? I don't buy it.
Lol, best to be avoided.
They're everywhere though now.....no escape.

We have a few in the town I live in (about 30 miles away) but for the most part, they stay in Portland. The town is considered to be “lame”. I personally love it. We have art, community events and community spirit. It also has a lower cost of living and the traffic is not that bad during rush hour.

Dr. Gupta (former Surgeon General candidate and neurosurgeon) was interviewed on a news show and explained that the concern was not of the boys passing along a disease to the public, but that the reason they are in isolation is to protect them from outside infections that could be transmitted to them. After all that they have been through, it is critical that, in their fragile condition, they don't contract anything that could possibly be brought to them from outside.
Pneumonia is contagious. Coughing, airborne droplets is how it’s spread.
Nurse
Tori has not kept her day job. She hasn’t taught since before Jackson was born. She’s loving the Instagram life, promoting freebies all the time, and she’s selling signs on ETSY. I actually am not a fan of watching Zach and I’m certainly disappointed that knowing what could lie ahead w Jackson, they chose to stay. Zach has his part time gig coaching soccer.
But yea, I think Audrey wasn’t happy w how she came off this season. A whiny mom who tried to feed her starving child under a tent of fabric. That woman complained and was snide to Jeremy all season.
Not a fan
According to this link pneumonia can be contagious. Not all types, though.

The CDC also has info on this.

That’s only one story the Thai doctors told people. They changed it about four times. It was about parent solidarity then it was about not hurting anyone’s feelings then it was about boys getting infections then it was about the public getting infections. Then apparently it was just fine for the parents to scrub in (why wasn’t that fine days ago?) Did Dr Gupta say there was some kind of tremendous risk if the parents were to scrub in and wear sterile costumes? That’s what doctors do to prevent infection when they see a patient. Same difference.
They would most likely have fungal pneumonia from the damp cave and it’s NOT contagious.
Jane (8),
You're right, bacterial or viral pneumonia is contagious, but it's not terribly likely that is the type these boys would have. Someone would have to have been infected at the time they went into the cave, and then spread it among the others. After their long stay in that cave, pneumonia is probably from breathing that dank air and from their living conditions. They have been through a lot! We're all just so thankful that they got out alive and well.
Tori according to her hasn’t quit school, she took a year long maternity leave. If the school allows a year and if you have a special needs child who needs the extra care, go for it. Plus with teaching it’s harder to just jump in in the middle of the year, it makes sense to start fresh in the fall.
Let’s see if she starts up in the fall. She posted a class photo on Instagram and said she couldn’t wait to come back with the baby.
I’m actually a bit more concerned about her kid than Jeremy’s. He’s a little person so there will be more interest to film him. But at least she and Zach have regular jobs they can fall back on.
And yeah Jeremy’s wife had a bit of reality herself. I shouldn’t be giddy her world was crumbling around her but they act so perfect all the time. No kitchen, a difficult pregnancy, a baby who won’t nurse, exhausted beyond comprehension. This does not fit the perfect blogging photo! Lol.
I was getting the impression Jeremy’s shoddy construction caused the flood in the kitchen but they never came out and admitted that. But if that’s true I think that’s what got Audrey at the end of her rope after she made it very clear they had to have a kitchen before the baby was born.
You know, I don’t know that this marriage will last. You can’t keep up perfect like this forever and I think she’s realizing for the first time Jeremy can be kind of a doofus who takes shortcuts.
They just posted a pic of the boys lined up in their hospital room. Together!
Now wait just a second, if they all have various so called terribly contagious diseases that could infect the country, does it make sense to you to put them all together? So they can all cross contaminate each other with their various diseases? If this is so dire shouldn’t they be in individual isolation rooms?
The doctors are either really dumb or playing games.
Admin (#12), I find Jeremy and Audrey's use of their baby as a prop pretty obnoxious. Bless her heart, the sweet little thing doesn't have much hair, so they're always strapping some elastic bow to her head. I know that's typical Insta behavior, but it doesn't take the baby's comfort into consideration. Recently they put some sort of turban on her and she looked like Gloria Swanson in Sunset Boulevard.
https://www.theguardian.com/news/2018/jul/11/thai-hospital-releases-video-of-rescued-boys-chatting-in-beds
Someone opens the glass window In this video of the sweet boys and their parents. Lol, so much for no contact with the outside air! Oy!
Layla, Yeah, I doubt the type of pneumonia they have, if they even do have it, is a contagious type. I suppose in their wreaked state they might be more susceptible to catching something. The pics being shown of them in their hospital beds are so uplifting. They look terrific!
Jane (16)
I saw that video too, and they all looked so happy! Hopefully they will bounce back quickly and move on to happy, productive lives. Someday this will be an interesting story to tell their grandchildren.
Hey guys, this is Golly Gee's son, Daniel. Look, I'm going to be honest. I have no idea about anything on Jon and Kate, but my mom cared a lot. I know she cared greatly about them and this blog. I wanted to let everyone know I appreciate the kind comments regarding her. She was a great person but just had some health problems that caused issues. Her mind was always great. We miss her dearly and it is nice to see that everyone enjoyed the video that my brothers and I made as well as seeing the kind posts regarding her presence in the blog. Thank you!
Just met up with Bluebird and what a lovely woman. So glad she was able to take time out of her trip to meet up. We talked about everything under the sun, GollyGee and a little about TFW and the kids. We, like everyone here, are thrilled with Hannah being with John and Jon finding
Collin. It's always nice to put a face to a poster. And it was nice to hear she enjoyed her time on the Cape.
Daniel Sigler, hello. I kinda' feel like we know you and your family. The video was heart warming.
Thank you for telling us a bit more about your mother.
Capecod and Bluebird -- sweet! We never know where/to whom life will lead us. I am smiling for both of you!!
Welcome Daniel. Your mom was a special person here to us. Thank you for the video link.

Thanks for posting. Yes, your mom was loved here and what a wonderful woman. She was also blessed by a warm and close family and she cared so much about you and others. She is truly missed and I know her family must really feel the hole. Thanks for sharing the video- it was heart-warming.
Daniel Sigler (18)
I hope you know how much your mother meant to all of us. She posted on this blog for years, and we cherished her and her input. She was so kind, genuinely concerned about the exploitation of the Gosselin kids, and she always encouraged us to reach out and help others. Many of us started putting together Christmas shoe boxes for needy children because of her suggestion. She was so selfless, and must have been such an amazing mother. We were all so fortunate to have known her, even if it was just blog posts. We all miss her!
Look, I'm going to be honest. I have no idea about anything on Jon and Kate

Consider yourself lucky! Thank you for stopping by and for sharing your mama with us. Our deepest condolences to you and yours.

How would anyone, other than the physicians treating them, know if they have pneumonia and what kind they have...infectious, non-infectious, or whatever? I think at this point it's really stretching it a bit to make assumptions regarding their health.
Hi Daniel. Your video is testimony to the spirited, affectionate person we here knew GollyGee to be. In spite of her own health issues she was always genuinely concerned about the Gosselin kids. Heartfelt thanks to you and your family for sharing a very personal glimpse of the life of your dear mom with this blog.

The Thai doctors rattled off a bunch of diseases they thought they could have and none of them are contagious.
Pneumonia can easily be read about and you can see it’s highly unlikely someone would get anything but fungal pneumonia in a closed damp room. Not impossible i guess but terribly unlikely.
I met with Capecodmama this morning, we talked about everything and anything. It was so nice to finally be able to put a face to at least one blogger here. The Cape is beautiful and we have been so lucky weather wise. We are now in Boston and will be going on the Hop On, Hop Off tomorrow.
Daniel thank you for the video on Teresa, she was truly loved my everyone on this blog.

This article about Jeremy and Audrey echoes what people said here. Audrey wants to concentrate on social media, the negative reaction to her on the show, and books. But can they still make the money?
Midnight Madness (26)
It was reported in news stories that some of the boys had pneumonia and that's one of the reasons why the parents hadn't seen them yet. So if you take the time to read through the previous comments, you'll see that nobody was making assumptions. This was stated by their doctors. Bacterial or viral pneumonia are not caused by being stuck in a cave for two weeks, and that's a fact, not speculation. Fungal pneumonia (which is non-contagious) can be caused by that type of environment.
Daniel - Thank you for sharing your mother’s life with us. She was a force to be reckoned with on this blog and she is missed.

That's what I suspect. This almost sounds a little like Kate when her show ended, thinking no big deal, I'll be a bigger star next!
I don't think Audrey's a villain, but I don't find her very likable or affable. She seems so fake and passive aggressive. The new age organic stuff is nonsense and irritating.
I really can't see them making near as much as they would make on a reality show. But, I'm glad they're quitting for their child's sake.
To be honest, I don’t think being on the TV show made Audrey as happy as she expected. Like yeah she has fans but she also has a lot of non-fans
&&&&
Bingo. She thought she'd become America's princess. People were mostly "meh" on her, and it pissed her off.
Flimsy, I agree about the hairbands. I had a daughter who didn't have a lot of hair till age one or so. I vowed never to put hair accessories in it except maybe for a photo portrait but she always pulled them off. So I left them off. This was way before Instagram . I'm sure it pulls their fine hair and is uncomfortable.I agree about the turban and Sunset Blvd look lol
Daniel Sigler (#18), I was so pleased to see your post. As you can see, your mom achieved rock-hard status amongst some of the sweet folks here!
Like many others, I was particularly touched by her efforts for Operation Christmas Child. I think it was last year she excitedly told us she was making washcloths to put in the shoeboxes with Ivory soap. She wrote about it as if it was her HONOR to be of service -- clearly "walking the talk" of her faith. I've supported OCC for about a decade, and will think of your mother this year as I fill my boxes.
They're everywhere though now.....no escape.

I wasn't aware of the term 'hipsters' before. (I always learn knew stuff here). They sound like the beatniks of the 50's and 60's. Here's the thing. I don't know if they have pneumonia, what kind it is if do have it, if they are a danger to the public, or if the public might be spreading bacteria to them. I only care that they were rescued and all are being treated by physicians who know what they are doing, and that the boys will soon be well enough to be reunited with their families. That's the bottom line. If you look at the diagram how these kids were taken out and that all survived, it truly was a miracle, guided by people from all over the world who risked their own lives to free these kids.

Amen Absolutely. Viral, bacterial, fungus, contagious, non-contagious, or whatever. The important thing is that all seem to be doing well. I don't need a crash course on pneumonia, or spend my time trying to figure it out. It is truly amazing that they got these children and their coach out of the cave before more flood waters would have made rescue impossible.

That’s all true, but just as much their physical health is important so too is their mental health. And they’ve got to balance it. And given that several psychologists are either helping directly or weighing in indirectly about the very serious damage separation from their parents is to them I think the concern is to be taken seriously. The original plan was to have a parent right by their side for that very reason because psychologists said it was imperative they do so for their own mental health. Add in an additional layer of lies and changing stories and misinformation and it makes people all the more suspicious why they are doing this.
On a humorous note though, The Onion had a quite hilarious take on this all with the headline “Soccer player still waiting for his parents to pick him up from practice.” Lol.
Add in an additional layer of lies and changing stories and misinformation and it makes people all the more suspicious why they are doing this.
----------------
I'm not suspicious. I guess I trust that they know what they are doing, and why. Both a physician and a mental health professional were interviewed and they said that the psychological effects of this won't be know for some time.
I'm not suspicious. I guess I trust that they know what they are doing,

I stopped trusting them the moment they told us diseases that are factually not contagious are a concern to the general public. The doctors are either stupid or lying. And certainly not to be trusted either way. Even first world doctors are doofuses all the time and this is a third world country and third world medicine.

You don't need a crash course in child development either to know a child needs a hug from his mom when he's ill!

I think it's hard to look hipster in bulky snow pants in Canada but they're among us everywhere.
They do get pushy! They run a tight schedule. Have to get back to their mom's where they live and play some records.
Hipsters also are a lot like millennials only more annoying.
Admin (#43), you silly goose, a child doesn't need a hug from his mom when he's ill. He needs to be put on a laundry room floor with the lights out until his father comes home.
Bingo. She thought she'd become America's princess. People were mostly "meh" on her, and it pissed her off.

Hey,i was just reading an article that twitter is now cracking down on fake profiles and followers on people's twitter accounts.I wonder how many followers kate will lose.I herd one celebrity actually lost 2 million followers from it.
You don't need a crash course in child development either to know a child needs a hug from his mom when he's ill!
------------------
These kids are in isolation for a reason. That reason could be that the doctors are not risking any disease to be brought in to them from outside. Of course I'd want to hug my child and I'd want my child to be comforted by my presence, but I'm not so sure I'd take the chance on infecting my child just because a hug is needed for child development.
It’s hard to relate to someone who presents themselves as the gold standard for the perfect relationship even though they have been married for a short time.

I think it's a great thing to be so focused on a successful marriage. But instead of them preaching about marriage as a whole, why not just focus on what they know? Transitioning from couple to husband and wife? The newlywed years? They don't have any authority to talk about anything else beyond that much less building a 60 year marriage. It's the overbroad preaching on complicated topics they haven't even begun to experience that is annoying, not talking about marriage itself. Like any good writer will advise, talk about what you actually KNOW for successful writing, and all they know is the newlywed period right now.
On the flip side, you don't want to be so obsessed with building a strong marriage that you slam those bricks on so hard the whole thing crumbles.
These kids are in isolation for a reason. That reason could be that the doctors are not risking any disease to be brought in to them from outside
&&&
Except, when you watched the video of the parents in the hospital, you can see them opening the windows to the isolation room wide open, like a freaking back porch door!
Many disease are airborne and are transmitted airborne (common knowledge, you don't need to be a doctor to know this). Opening a window just disturbed the isolation to a very dangerous degree.
Except, they changed the story four times and were at one time insisting the BOYS were going to infect the parents. Bullshit.
Admin (#50), your brick analogy made me think of the classic Lucy scene in the chocolate factory (RIP, GollyGee). The candy starts coming down the conveyor belt at a normal pace, and Lucy and Ethel wrap each piece with no problem. Lucy smiles and says, "This is easy!" Then it speeds up, and they're completely overwhelmed.
So until Jeremy and Audrey can count their years of wedded bliss on the fingers of more than one hand, it might help if they delivered their marital advice with a modicum of humility.
I used to watch and enjoy LPBW. But I have not followed the Roloffs much lately. I did some sleuthing and found that Auj- annoying nickname!- wants to be more Christ-like???? She has a lot of blogs and such
Kate lost 11,000 followers so far since the twitter crackdown.
She had 261.7k when they first made the announcement.

(((((((((((
What were the four stories? I really haven't been following this, other than to see how totally amazing that rescue had been.
Wow, lots of celebs are losing tons of followers in the twitter purge.
Some losing millions! They seem to be implying those who lost that many may have been paying for followers. Katy Perry took one of the biggest hits, as did Obama. Yeesh!
What were the four stories? I really haven't been following this, other than to see how totally amazing that rescue had been.
&&&
It's earlier in the thread but again the four stories were:
1. the children could be infected by their parents
2. the parents could be infected by their children (western doctors proved that no disease they had could infect parents)
3. the parents had decided themselves to stay at the cave site as a group until all were rescued
4. the government had decided not to tell the parents who was rescued and who was still inside so as not to hurt the feelings of the parents still waiting.
See how all those conflicting stories both don't add up and seem like excuses?
Several people have speculated the real story is they don't want the boys seeing their parents until the cops interview them about the coach, so as not to corrupt their stories, while they decide whether to prosecute. The parents have been extremely understanding toward the coach and don't want him prosecuted, so it's always possible a parent could instruct a child not to say anything bad about him. It's not the parents' decision whether to prosecute.
I used to watch and enjoy LPBW. But I have not followed the Roloffs much lately. I did some sleuthing and found that Auj- annoying nickname!- wants to be more Christ-like???? She has a lot of blogs and such

Lol, well I'm glad somebody wants to be more Christ-like! Somebody's gotta want it!
There's something rather arrogant about that. Sort of like, moving closer and closer to becoming Jesus, eventually we will be him. Blech.
I HATE Audj, though I generally hate many nicknames that shorten things to one syllable. It sounds more like you're groaning than saying a name.

That's stupid.
They're not even close to the average time when a marriage starts to crumble. They haven't the first clue what it's like to be ten years into a marriage and long past the "in love" stage which does fade.
I'm all for them wanting to stay together, but I also think the incredible focus on NOT GETTING DIVORCED gets unhealthy. Goodness me, just relax and raise your baby for now.
But yeah, that's what I think, talk about transitioning from girlfriend to wife. That is interesting and it's what they know.
Also, like, how long were those vows? Could I at least be permitted a glass of water as I attempt to dictate them during sex?
Can you read them or are you supposed to remember them by heart? Where exactly do you hold the paper printout with the vows during intercourse?
I actually really don't want to know the answer, I'm good.
