Collin's desperate pleas for help in 2017

DailyMail has published a photo of a letter Collin wrote to Jon begging Jon to rescue him from Fairmount, where he was institutionalized

John also told the publication Hannah was mentally tortured by Kate, child protective services received over 50 reports of abuse in Kate's home they investigated, and that all of the children have poor social skills he attributes to the isolation of their childhoods. Collin and Hannah now live full time with Jon.  Read more here.

Guess Mady's paying attention, she dropped this on the bird IG photo:

mady.gosselin
miss u guys :(

&&&t

I'm pretty sure the egg donor popped onto Mady's account to write that. Mady won't even notice.

And and hail to the hero of some other kid who got this letter out of the institution and somehow to Jon.

There is hope for that generation.

Also what institution doesn't let you just write a little letter to your dad? Bastards!

Love it! The Kate of many years ago would never have allowed a bird near the table much less on the table! 😂

&&&

What little sheeple are left don't see the irony. The one thing she chooses to ease up on a bit is a thing you really SHOULDN'T be careless about when it comes to sanitation. She's nuts.

Did anyone else think it was odd that the kids were sitting so far apart in the IG photo? Why the empty chairs between them? My kids always sit close together, even then there are just a few of them at the table. It's easier to talk and interact that way. Leah and Alexis are on opposite sides of the table with empty chairs between, and so are Aaden and Joel. Weird.
***
Remember the 'Kate assigned seats' on the school bus? If she can 'assign' seats on the bus, it's not a big stretch from Ms."I'm in control and that's never going to change" to assign seats at the dining table, the couches in the living room, etc.

I'm so happy tonight. I feel like Karma finally made it up that driveway and in thru the front door of the McMansion.

The most heartbreaking part of that letter is Colin saying "I am sorry." He did nothing wrong. I hate that he felt the need to apologize.

Admin, you are right. The boy who got this letter to Jon is a hero. He took a big risk. I am sure the facility would have punished him if they found out.

The very end of Page 1 of Collin's letter:

"She was abusive to me after I left your house, I'm sorry take this to court, because..."

The last sentence of Page 1 and onto Page 2, about a paragraph, is all blurred out. I can only imagine what he revealed.

This is so messed up and the worse thing is not only did Kate get away with this for many years but even today i don't think she'll ever be held accountable and get an investigation from CPS.They won't ever interview the remaining kids and ask them what they know. Also these days since the majority of the public doesn't care about the gosselin(Which don't get me wrong im glad most could care less about kate but)nothing will come of this in the sense that there won't be any calls for TLC to cancel her completely.Nobody will be calling for her to face jail from this just like the duggars.I really hope maybe there's something we don't know and maybe there will be but i want expect much.

I don’t know how anyone can defend Kate after reading that letter from Collin. However there are some diehard sheeple still defending her, most notably Brownie the cereal lady (frugalfit_hippiechick). I guess when you drink the kool-aid you’re all in. I really don’t know how Kate will be able to come back from this.

Kate's phone must be ringing off the hook now that all of the media has picked up on the story, as several of the stories indicate they've reached out "to her rep".

I really hope the shit has finally hit the fan for her.

I wonder if Jon and Collin have grounds for a lawsuit against Kate, or the institutions he was kept in. I'm sure everything was done at her direction but it is terrifying to think that he was held over three years based on the word of a mentally unstable mother. There needs to be an investigation and people need to be held responsible.

Paula Caldarella said... 12

What, if any, legal liabilities coild Figure 8 and TLC face? They had to have known what was going on and apparently did nothing to stop it. They all were witnesses to this abuse. No wonder TLC pushed so hard to keep Jon quiet.

Formerly Duped said... 13

I agree with everyone and add my gratitude to the boy who got the crayoned letter out.

Wonder what the other kids are thinking...also surprised the article did not mention how Hannah had her arm injured in the fight over her at the orthodontist office

Several institutions?? How Collin is a sweet well-adjusted kid today is amazing.I really wish TFW had to pay for what she has done to her own child- nothing would be enough but she should be penalized. She broke the law by falsifying Collin's 'issues' and keeping his father from him, along with abusing her kids and much more.I think more info will slowly leak out and maybe the other kids will have a chance to get out of that house. Doesn't CPS have a right/duty to investigate all this?

Remember Knobgate? When one of the tups accidentally removed a knob from a dresser and their gestational carrier interrogated them about it like they'd broken a Ming vase?
One child said they didn't do it, and the shrew snarled, "Well, SOMEBODY did it, because I'm HOLDING it!" Wow, outsmarting toddlers! Classic bully behavior -- picking on people who can't fight back.

And remember the bittersweet moment of C dancing when she left the room and they were off the hook? That child was happy because there were cameras there, and he knew he wasn't going to have the snot beaten out of him.

This whole thing is making me feel sick. I don't ever want that heifer to have her phony, botoxed, hee-haw mug on screen for the rest of her life, unless it's in a mug shot.

In Jon's interview yesterday he said what we all feared: Colin didn't want to film and that clearly was the impetus for her decision to have him "caged", clearly by lying about his situation. How can that not be criminal? TLC cannot say they are innocent going forward. But if they knew at the time he was thrown out of the house and hidden from his father and continued to film this family, they need to be accountable for what appears to be criminal activity. Jon said yesterday what Kate did was "punishable". I pray he has a good attorney.

I remember--and what sticks in my mind is that when she asked the girls about it, they said the boys did it--and she marched across the hall to yell at the boys. No questions, no freak-out with the girls--only the boys. That is so unfair to the boys. Collin's little dance was kind of sad because we know he always took the blame for everything. Poor little guy--I love seeing him so happy now because he deserves it!

I've been thinking about Mady and Cara just starting out at college, first time living away from the horror house, making new friends and acquaintances and having their mother exposed for the monster she is. I imagine smart-ass Mady, being so much like her mother, able to think she can brush it away as her father is looking for publicity. Not more sensitive Cara though, who is likely mortified that their lives have always been so public.

That letter just breaks my heart and makes me hate Kate all the more. I hope Collin's roommate didn't get in trouble for delivering the letter. Collin probably spilled all the abuse he endured to this close friend and he realized he had to do something to help. My thanks to his roommate!!!

Through the years we all posted our comments and suspicions, and how close we were to the truth, is uncanny. I only hope that the rest of the children living in the compound will not suffer from Kate's wrath after this big revelation.

foxy said... 23

The note Collin wrote is heart breaking to see his desperation on being rescued. I hope he can sue her for all the money she owes him for his college, and for the abuse he suffered all his life at her hands. Mady is a narcissist just like her mom. Cara is very private and may see the light. The other 4 are the lambs now. I wonder who will be next to be on the chopping block. Sad really. I hope this does it for this scum bag.

She's angry, I can guarantee that, and looking for revenge. She'll try to find a lawyer to sue, she'll say horrible things to the kids about Jon, she'll rant and rage--but she won't ever even consider the possibility that she did something wrong. The only thing that could possibly affect her is if TLC says they don't want to film. Filming is her obsession, her reason for having those kids in the first place. Without it she's lost. I doubt they'll cut her loose, no matter how bad the publicity, no matter how low the ratings. I saw a recent story about Derrick Dillard (Jill Duggar's husband) where he said TLC was trying to force him to film--even though he didn't have a contract with them. They are ruthless. Derrick was not popular on the show, he didn't really add anything to it--but they still weren't willing to let him go. The same, I'm sure, applies to Kate.

Hey TFW, cue the doggie pics... new article from The Daily Mail:

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7478775/Jon-Gosselin-reveals-rejected-1M-offer-stay-Kate-sake-reality-show.html

EXCLUSIVE: 'I wasn't going to have a fake marriage.' Jon Gosselin reveals TLC offered him $1M to stay with Kate for the sake of their show and when he refused orchestrated a smear campaign claiming he cheated with daughter of Kate's plastic surgeon

• Jon Gosselin says he refused an offer of more than $1 million by network TLC to stay with his wife Kate for the sake of their reality show, DailyMailTV can reveal

• For Jon, the show started out as a wholesome, genuine look at an all-American family but quickly turned 'toxic' and 'changed everyone's lives'

• The 42-year-old says his marriage to Kate, 44, was broken beyond repair by 2009 and he felt 'powerless' - claiming Kate and TLC conspired against him

• Jon said TLC allegedly pressured him to stay with Kate for another two seasons of Jon & Kate Plus 8 and receive the payout

• He denies the widespread speculation that he had cheated on his wife with Hailey Glassman, the daughter of Kate's plastic surgeon

• Glassman had confirmed that her relationship with Jon began only after he and Kate had been separated for months

• Jon said: 'I could have made millions of dollars if I would've just continued... But I just wasn't gonna lie on camera. I wasn't gonna have a fake marriage'

• Jon also reveals TLC sued him for $1.5m for breach of contract when he stopped the show from filming and he eventually settled for $200K

• Repeated attempts by DailyMailTV requesting comment from Kate about John's claims were met with silence

Former Lurker said... 28

From the article:

One of Jon's biggest gripes is that four of his children are still having to work on TV to 'support their mother'.

He hits out at Kate for 'not working' herself.

'They shouldn't have to work for their existence,' he says.

'We should have to provide for our children, our children shouldn't have to provide for us. That's the key thing here.

'My argument in court was, 'why do my children have to work for their mother, shouldn't the mother work for the children?' Get a job. I have a job.'

Former Lurker said... 29

On their trust accounts, school tuition, and college tuition:

Jon insists Kate is still motivated by 'power, control, fame and money' and wants to remain relevant in the TV world.

Her latest project is a dating show called Kate Plus Date which premiered in July on TLC.

Together with her twin 18-year-old daughters, Mady and Cara, and a matchmaker, Kate reflects on what happened following different dates.

While promoting the show Kate has done various media interviews and can't help but drop references to her ex-husband.

But it's the 'lies' Jon claims his ex spouts that infuriates him most.

'In one interview with People magazine Kate said that she uses her money to provide for the children's education,' he explains.

'There's a quote and I'm like, no - everything is theirs, she has done nothing. Their money goes from TLC to their trust fund, it goes to their online accounts.

'It pays for their private schooling now and for their college education.'

He added: 'It's all played out, she always wants to control every situation, including conversations and always have the last word.'

Jon, who lives in Reading, Pennsylvania, where he works as an IT director for a community health center and DJs at nightclubs as a hobby, said that he's sure that after his interview is aired on DailyMailTV Kate will most likely have the 'last word.'

FlimsyFlamsy said... 31

Lorrie (#25), yeah, I keep checking People to see if something pops up. The major story is conspicuous in its absence, isn't it?

Layla said... 32

Sadly, I believe that Kate took away Hannah and Collin's trust funds. Hannah said, right after she went to live with Jon, that she was going to stay in her private school. But that fall she ended up going to public school. Jon's latest article says that TLC put the kids' money directly in their trust funds and that money paid for their schooling and college. So Hannah could have gone back to LCDS--if the money was still there. I suspect it was revoked by Kate and therefore the money wasn't there to pay for private school. That would mean that Hannah's (and Collin's) college money is also gone. Imagine what Hannah had to give up to getaway from Kate! Boy, do I hope H&C sue when they're of age. Their mother is vicious and will destroy them if she can--just because they didn't bend to her will.

Are we going to see another round of tabloid tit or tat with these two again? I remember going to the store and seeing endless rounds from these two during their divorce back and forth. Be awfully hard for her to state she really kept moving him on advice of doctors. I know there are doctors you'll find out there who will come up with a diagnosis for you on the fly, they exist but, given my limited scope of ADHD what have you but this just seem rather sad all together.

Who ships their child off because of ADHD?
But then a lot of things Kate does don't make sense.

One Christmas two of our kids managed then 3 and 5 managed to untangle and "redecorate" our entire living room with the strung cranberries that were now, well, unstrung. Good luck finding out which one actually did it. Kids do stuff, they get into stuff. And guess what? Life goes on. Granted I probably picked up cranberries until after New Years but I don't remember integrating my children. Truth is I find it funny now look of totally get caught the look on my son's face.

NJGal51 said... 38

Besides the crew daddies, I think the one person that has seen a lot but kept his mouth shut is rat claws. All for the almighty dollar. I hope that he’s held accountable as well.

The kids earned the money and it was put into a trust for them. If there was an individual trust for each child I would think that TFW would have to show what happened to the money. Both Jon and TFW have said that college was taken care of for ALL of them. Hopefully the lawyers have a forensic accountant looking into things if TFW says the money is gone.

Sandylove said... 39

You know what I can't stop thinking about is what it must have been like for Collin the day that Kate dumped him at the institution. What did she say to him, what did he think was going to happen to him, how long did he think he was going to be in there, why hasn't my mom come to visit me or to take me out of here. To be separated from your siblings at such a young age and then to spend so long away from them, no wonder the poor child has PTSD, not to mention how Kate treated him at home.

FlimsyFlamsy said... 40

BlueJay (#37), I've said many times I don't think TFW enjoys being a mother. She only enjoys the perks it's brought her. The money, the fame, the attention. And in her twisted case, the martyrdom and victimhood she's derived from it.
For the longest time I said I believed she loved her children. But she does not love C, and perhaps she never did. Her dismissive reaction to his mother-and-son bear gift said it all: she felt no individual connection to him, so she was confused by such a sentimental gesture.

Wonder what's on the menu for the partitioned plates tonight at Ms. Gosselin's Home For Exploited Children? She might be on the phone with another breeder, seeing how quickly she can get a 4th dog so the numbers will compute for another season of K+8.

I remember when I brought son #2 home from the hospital. Son #1 was 2 years old, and immediately the "I didn't do it" game began. I had baked a cake for a get-together, and had it on the kitchen counter. DS#2 was sleeping in his bassinet and I put on a cartoon for DS#1 to watch while I took a shower. What could go wrong? When I got out of the shower and came, back into the living room, DS#2 as still sleeping in his bassinet and DS#1 was nowhere to be seen. I found him sitting on the kitchen counter (he pulled out the drawers to climb up), covered in chocolate frosting, and half on my cake gone. When he saw me he got that "Uh-oh, busted!" look, then pointed at his sleeping baby brother and said, " Sean did it, Mommy! Sean!". It still cracks me up--it starts fast, doesn't it? DS#2 was about 4 days old at that point.

Like there just random gifts out there to be found that have things with all things with 8 on them all the time. If that doesn't say weird for a parent to request their child needs to have a gift for her with 8 of everything all the time I don't know what does.

FlimsyFlamsy oh she loved her children oddly enough only in groups not as individual people: 2, 3, 6, 8.

Layla, yes oh heavens it starts young and keeps going.

Jon is right about one thing since he left the show. It's Kate first. You know since she's the one to have written all kinds of books, had a website, did reality television and all this, he should give it a go, he has his own voice and experience. How many times can one woman set the record straight? I shouldn't have said those words...

I'd love to know what Kate would do: My kids, 3 by then, two daughters and a son took a new tube of toothpaste to pretend it was glue and "glued" down everything they could get there hands on in the bathroom they shared. You know, the blue toothpaste, the name escapes me. Blue sticky toothpaste all over the white bathroom. Bad new? My in-laws were coming in basically an hour it was supposed to be their bathroom while they were there...best part? Nope. Nobody did it. Nobody saw a thing. I wasn't there. Wasn't me. It was anybody but me.

Yeah, this really puts her over the line for me. I hope children's services and the local courts are paying attention to this and plan to revisit this whole mess. She/TLC has successfully manipulated a huge number of people in authority and put herself above the law. She should have to pay for that. And if insurance was covering any portion of Collin's "care," I hope she gets investigated by them as well. Bottom line, her representation of Collin's issues was fraudulent from the get-go.

As for filming, I didn't get the sense that Jon was saying they are currently filming, just that it has been ongoing because Kate refuses to get a job and the kids feel they have no choice. Given what she did to Collin, I can certainly see their point. I don't honestly see how TLC could continue to air this show when they're down FOUR kids and Kate's abuse is finally hitting the mainstream. Then again, I've been shocked by TLC before, so . . .

foxy said... 51

Has anyone else noticed in the picture of the final four eating dinner in their assigned seats that nobody has a knife, only a fork and a small paper plate. I guess they stab their food with the fork and take bits from the fork. She has a short interview in Intouch weekly that she still cooks for an army. Really? Broccoli, maybe chicken and mashed potatoes.

Lorrie said... 52

For years, posters have been speculating that Kate has some dirt on TLC, and that is the reason they continue to beat that dead horse. Well, I guess we now have our answer. Absolutely, Kate has dirt on TLC -- they must have known that the kids were being abused (and probably have much of it evidenced on film) yet did absolutely nothing to help. It's interesting to note, though, that TLC also has the identical dirt on Kate. She did the abusing, after all.

Mel said... 53

This just breaks my heart. It's even worse than I expected. I hope that Colin and Hannah have some recourse for all the maltreatment. Maybe just getting out alive is good enough.

Giff said... 54

We need to make sure TLC knows there will be outrage if they ever give this child abuser a platform again. This needs to end once and for all.

Mama C said... 55

The fact that she told her son he couldn't live with his dad speaks volumes. She knew she would never have control over him if he went to live with Jon from the beginning, so she kept him a prisoner until she lost all control. Proof positive that this woman doesn't give a rat's for her kid's happiness, it's about what they can do for her. Jon has been weak imo, he needed to have contact with all the kids and honestly I hate to think where they would be without the support of his girlfriend, Colleen. She has saved those 2 as much as anyone. It really comes as no surprise these revelations though. We always suspected she abused them, the same way she abuses all the people in her life.

Mel said... 56

"He says Kate's 'pattern of abuse' includes running a military-esque regime, enforcing chores and tasks beyond what any normal child should endure.

'I understand trying to teach discipline, but they can't even be kids,' he says." T

This has the ring of truth. Remember the woman from Wife Swap who teared up in immense sorrow when she related how hard the kids had to work? I remember her talking about how they weren't even allowed to be kids.

Also remember how Maddie talked about she's only ever known work, she never got to be a kid.

I hate how TLC must have known all of this was going on, and still let it happen for the sake of ratings.

My son who is 14 can eat half a chicken 4 scoops of mashed potatoes and two pieces of broccoli on a full day. She has never fed those kids accordingly

Mel (56), good to see you. So many of us share your despair in finally knowing the grisly details of C's tragic situation.

I wonder how the Busby family feels about their beloved meal ticket TLC, knowing the network turned a blind eye to the suffering of this little boy. From their smug declaration that they could never fall prey to the reality TV curse, they probably don't give a hoot about some other family, as long as their kids -- and their inflated egos -- are being fed by TLC.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 60

The social skills problems is another thing we identified years ago as a potential consequence of their childhoods. It’s not a shock this is indeed a problem as they enter young adulthood. It’s really sad.

FlimsyFlamsy said... 61

Formerly Duped (#13), you wondered how the other kids felt about C's letter. And maybe it's wishful thinking, but I think Mady would feel awful about her brother's suffering. As tough as I've been on her at times, I will never forget the way Mady stood up to her gestational carrier over C's lovey, which had gotten gum on it. Mady wasn't a toddler, and I'm sure she knew good and well by then that such behavior -- especially on camera -- would come at a cost. But some protective instinct kicked in, and she immediately spoke up for her little brother.

Layla said... 62

She says she cooks for an army? She's delusional. I saw a clip from K+D8 where Mady was saying that one thing she was looking forward to when going to college is not having to cook huge pots of food and scrub huge pots. Sounds to me like Mady was doing some serious cooking at home and it wasn't by choice. My boys cook every now and then, but only when they offer. One of them makes amazing buffalo chicken pasta. Another makes the best chicken parmesan, and yet another makes great stroganoff. They'll offer to cook now and then--but it's because they want their chosen dish, made the way they like it. I sure don't complain, but I also don't make my kids cook for the family unless they want to. The G kids have to work to support Kate, and they have to work slavishly around the house too. No wonder they're so isolated. They have too much work to do to have a normal social life.

I've lived with someone who was very much into cooking, and while it's nice to have someone cooking for you all the time and you seemingly don't have to do a thing, cooking brings with it a whole lot of extra and sometimes not thought about WORK and expenses. All the dishware used, running the dishwasher a lot more often, which means more loading and unloading, all the extra shopping trips to obtain forgotten ingredients, and the expenditure of time for all this which often means time not with loved ones. The stress when a recipe doesn't go the way you hoped, the way some people tend to tie their very identity to the craft.

Cooking's great. Cooking for family and friends is an expression of love. But like anything, there can be too much of a good thing and if it's getting to the point where it's miserable for you or the people you're feeding, it's prudent to have some awareness about how the cooking is affecting others, creating more work for others, etc., and think twice about doing it for every single meal.

I have a feeling based on what we know that Kate, the kids have borne some of the misery that I have with a "cook" and it's taken its toll. Kate's cooking obsession has always brought back that little itch for me I can't scratch.

I have been a faithful follower here since it’s inception. I will admit at times I was skeptical about what others were concluding about what was going on in Kate’s life and her motives. But now it’s all been confirmed. Wow. It’s all been validated. Not excited to say that but more feeling like yay! Our concerns were not out of jealousy and envy like we were accused of. I once made a comment on line about Kate and her famewhoring and some asshole said honey, green is not your color. Lol! The nerve!! If you are reading this whoever you are, eff off!!! Hehheh

I think it's more accurate to say that we always KNEW she abused the kids. She documented it herself in her journal. And we saw it with our own eyes on the tv show.

FlimsyFlamsy said... 68

Admin (#63), I've always thought the (alleged) endless hours in the kitchen was just another excuse for TFW to not have to interact with her kids, and to keep them out of her hair. I understand cooking-as-love, but zero sense of that as her motivation. She's the prison cook doling out meals for the inmates onto paper plates forever (*waves to our poster*), and you get what you get and you don't get upset.

Who could forget this warm and wonderful description of family meal time straight from the heifer's mouth? "Cook a meal, feed a meal, clean up a meal, clean up everything." She should have named her cookbook "Guilt Is In The Mix."

FlimsyFlamsy said... 69

Rainbirdie (#67), good to see you.
Yes, she sure took the speculation out of the abuse accusations when those journals were published. And basically admitted they were authentic when she never sued.

Flimsy @ 61, I think Mady and Cara were both close to Collin when they were younger. But I think they have changed, Cara for self-preservative, Mady following her mother's attention-seeking ways and selfish attitude. They must have known abut Collin's plight and did not include their father in letting him know what happened nor did they do anything but call Jon toxic on national TV-or was it an article? They did not pursue any relationship with Collin when he was in the facilities or when he was back with Jon. They seemed contemptuous of all the tupss. But hope you are right and I am wrong!

FlimsyFlamsy said... 72

Formerly Duped (#70), I totally agree that Mady, sadly, hasn't shown the slightest inclination towards concern about her father or brother.
But I also wonder if it's Stockholm syndrome: having bonded with her captor (her gestational carrier) for self preservation. When as a young teenager she announced that her father was "toxic," she was clearly parroting her mother, and perhaps she was rewarded for that. In abusive households, some people go along to get along.

But either way...I'd like to hope that maybe some time in the future these 8 kids can reunite and form some sort of healthy sibling connection. Unfortunately, there will be scars that never heal. Sigh.

roxyhelen said... 73

I rarely ever post here anymore but I wanted to throw in my two cents:

1. I read here that Collin commented on Mady's instagram. That comment disappeared. Either Mady or Collin deleted it. I wouldn't be shocked to hear that the siblings were poisoned against Collin too,not just Jon.

2. I doubt the crew never witnessed the children being smacked or mistreated. I even could believe some was caught on tape that has of course been wiped. I still remember that episode when they visited that amusement park and Leah(who was maybe 3?) was licking soap of her hands. Kate told her not to several times, then she leaned towards her, then there was a smack and a cut and in the next "scene" Leah was holding her hand crying. Lots of cuts like that existed when the kids were little especially.

3. The truth seems to be even worse than I could have imagined

The recent pic she shared of them sitting at the dinner table with the empty seats of those missing from their "assigned seating arrangement" shows that she still continues to live in the past instead of adapting to reality (all families inevitably do shrink). Who doesn't as their family members become "gone" … one way or another (yes some snark) … wouldn't rearrange things so they are all sitting together at one end of the table? Well I guess she wouldn't... .

Kate definitely rewards Mady for loyalty. Cara too, but Cara doesn't seem to be quite as drawn into the materialistic stuff as Mady. It's pretty obvious that Mady can be "bought". Jon can't afford to shower her in Isabel Marant and Cartier, therefore he is expendable. Hannah and Collin are with Jon, so Mady will shun them if she is rewarded for it.

I always thought it was disturbing to see how much Kate favored the twins. They always got special treats while the sextuplets did not. Hannah had to film when she had stress headaches, yet M&C were allowed to sleep in and skip filming. M&C got to bring a friend along on trips, while the tups did not. In the one episode of K+8 I watched, Kate was refusing to buy things for the tups, but then when boutique shopping with the twins she was pressuring them to get more, more, more--even though the things the tups wanted cost a fraction of what the twins got. Mady was the one who made a beeline for the Golden Goose shoes, and they were sitting on the counter for checkout so she must have gotten them. Those are $600, easy. The jeans M&C picked out were around $200 per pair, t-shirts there are $100+. I've shopped in some of those boutiques. I know their prices. M&C got thousands of dollars' worth of stuff, while Kate refused to buy water bottles for the tups. While shopping with the tups at Boscovs, Kate refused to buy a t-shirt for Alexis but never questioned the shoes Mady wanted. How is any of that fair? They have the show--and therefore the money--because of the tups. And I'll guarantee you that Kate did not take Leah and Alexis to shop in those boutiques in preparation for high school--but she may have done it with M&C in preparation for college.

Call me crazy but when all her kids leave home she can have all the silence she wants then. Most normal parents when your kids leave home such as myself you miss all those crazy family dinners and the mess and those memories why on earth would she want silence now?

Camera on: normal, happy sunshine rainbow family

Camera off: dull, silent, boring wall staring family

Pretty much sums up her life I suspect. She wont do or didn't do anything without it being filmed for her. How pathetic. Oh she's going to be real joy as an old lady...

I'm just wondering about the timing of Jon unleashing this wave on the media outlets NOW. I mean Hannah & Collin just started their Freshman year in HS. Collin has only been back in his home for 9 months & per him is suffering from PTSD as is she.

I'm hoping that he asked them before doing any of this (I believe he did) to see if they were up to it & wanted him to do it but why NOW versus in a year or two or even when they are 18. It appears to be a pretty well planned out "Plan of Action" which I don't believe he could/would have come up with on his own. Again, the timing is what I wonder about.

Is it to get public outcry going and/or is he prepping to file some legal suits against her to make her accountable for her actions. He says "Karma Karma Karma" and that her actions are "punishable" which sounds like he's been told something legally re actions he can take on the kids behalf. Why? To get their rightful $$$ from their accounts for them (to find out if any is there even); To encourage the other 4 kids to do "something" whether that be visitation or to see a living change as a possibility; To make her accountable for her "stuff", and yes … for karma pay back on behalf of the kids & himself???

Just thinking out loud … .

First she'll run to TLC asking, "Can we sue?". Once they blow her off, she'll shop around for a show or media outlet to let her "set the record straight". If that doesn't work out then she'll have her "source" release a statement saying that Kate is "taking the high road". She's so predictable. No wonder her shows are so boring.

I think that if she goes on her normal “setting the record straight” tour that they might just ask the hard questions this time. Jon put it all out there and she can puke, dab and cry all she wants but there’s no getting around the fact that Collin was locked away and that Hannah and Collin both now live with Jon and Colleen. From what I’ve seen it looks like Jon has hard proof and it’s not just a matter of he said/she said. She doesn’t really have the TLC machine backing her any more and she’s not important enough to demand that she only be asked the pre-approved questions. Can you imagine if someone asked her about Collin’s letter to Jon?! I think that her best defense right now is to keep her mouth shut.

Maybe after that ridiculous "toxic relationship" nonsense Kate had the twins repeat when they were younger, they think there is no going back from that. Kate gives them the material things their father cannot. They have been isolated with Kate for so long that I'm sure they have no clue what a loving relationship is and probably never will. I doubt they care that much about Collin or any of the younger kids for that matter. I remember when the twins graduated and Collin commented on Mady's Instagram how proud he was of both of her and Cara.. As I recall, she never publicly acknowledged his comment. It's not the twins' fault. This is who they were raised to be. They saw how easy it was for their mother to never truly love and treat everyone as if they were expendable.

I recall a clip from the early days, when the kids were very young. They were living in the other house, and one of the 6 was yelled at by Kate. Without her telling the child to do so, the toddler ran to the mat by the front door and sat facing the wall. I KNEW then she was abusive- no toddler behaves that way. It was chilling.

Concerning Kate and Madi’s relationship. Kate, as we know, loves to ostracize people- friends, siblings, parents, ex husband. Now she’s extended that to her kids— Colin, and to an extent, Hannah.
I’ll bet you a dollar that she and Mady will eventually do it to one another— they’re too similar. One good argument and that relationship is toast.

&&&&

I think you have a point, but to play Devil's Advocate for a second, how does it help these kids or any kids to treat child abuse as something shameful and to be hidden away, not to be spoken of? Not a story to be told?

The shame of abuse whether towards children or the recent sexual harassment and other acts towards women and some men that stayed buried for so long, is in my opinion how we got to this point in the first place. Because it was SHAMEFUL, EMBARRASSING, NOT TO BE SPOKEN OF. Food for thought.

Giff said... 101

I don't think Jon would have spoken out without weighing the pros and cons and I don't think he would have without asking Collin and Hannah first. Those kids...or someone close, called CPS over 50 times and nothing was done due to lack of evidence?? Hard to collect evidence of psychological and emotional abuse without the child speaking up. In this case, when one tried he was disowned by his mother and locked away for 3 years. There should be an investigation as to why CPS brushed it aside so many times. There should be an investigation into why Collin was held for a heartbreaking 3 years without being allowed contact with his family...especially his father. There should be an investigation into how Kate paid for him to be held and why he was moved multiple times. Kate has no soul. This was just a sinister act of revenge against her own son and the father of her children. It seems pretty close to criminal if she manipulated the system for her own evil purposes.

Maybe he just wants to force an accounting, in order to ensure that C and H still have something left (in C's case, does anyone doubt she raided HIS trust for whatever she had to pay to send him away?). It may also be to force an action by the court to honor visitation with the four still at home. I know he's said he's reluctant to do that, but I believe he's sincerely in fear of what K8 has done/is doing to these kids mentally and emotionally.

I also think it’s a big assumption to think that kids must wait until they are 18 to decide if their stories should be heard. Hannah and Collin may very well feel very validated and comforted by Jon’s words and may very well be fully supportive of their stories being told. What’s not appropriate is to put they themselves out there to tell it, that’s a decision for adulthood. Bottom line is there’s not enough information about how this decision was made to know whether it was a bad decision for the children.

I disagree that people can't be empowered by speaking for them. Every day people feel empowered and inspired by those who take the lead and speak for them and tell their stories. Look at politics. People get obsessed with various candidates even very flawed and weak ones if they just feel they speak for them. Frankly our society revolves around a few people speaking for the masses.

I agree with you, this choice was a tough one. Problem is we have no idea what preparation Jon did for this interview, like speaking to a therapist as you suggested, and I find it rather pointless to speculate, debate or assume what he did or didn't do when we have no idea.

And we DO know this has negatively affected the kids. The kids who remain with KATE. You can't deny that Kate is freaking the hell out and taking it out on those four.

And as past history is an indicator of future behaviour, we can easily deduce that Kate will strike back, probably with People mag but don't be surprised if Dr Shill or Sixty Minutes tries for an 'exclusive' with her.

Colin and Jon have every right, and some would say duty, to bring Kate’s abuse to light, I’m sure there’s much more to this story and a heck of a lot of more people who covered up the abuse of the Gosselin children. Those people should be identified. There’s not much more evil in this world than the exploitation and abuse of children.

What Paula said and others.

You are describing the very root cause of the metoo movement. We wouldn't even have had to have a metoo movement if it weren't for people like you making them afraid of retaliation. (Even though there are plenty of laws and have been for years protecting against that very thing). Still, those like you convinced them not to speak up because of it.

I am not in support of telling people hush up about abuse as there might be retaliation. That is VICTIM BLAMING, pure and simple.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 124

Again, why couldn't Jon sue her or whatever he plans on doing when the kids turn eighteen?

^^^

Sue her for what? It is CPS that files suits against parents for child abuse, not the other parent. Parents actually have no standing to sue the other parent for child abuse. I know, I tried it on behalf of a parent, and lost.

And it's interesting that your logic is what Jon is doing could cause retaliation against the other kids. Like a lawsuit wouldn't do exactly the same thing? And it'll all be public anyway because of who they are, so what's the difference?

The only difference in your scenario is abused children are yet again being sent the message their abuse is not a story worth telling, that it's to be hushed up, that it's not appropriate to have the story out there. And that's just plain WRONG.

Ohhh I knew she was coming back with Kate plus 8. And that's why she probably doesn't care what Jon says, she's on tv and that is her one and only interest, desire. When interviewed she'll probably just say SHE will take the high road and not discuss her children's private lives unlike terrible Jon (cue the eye rolls).
TLC should feel ashamed of what they have done and continue to do to these children...for their own bottom line.

Just a guess, but the new Kate + 8 episode may have factored into the timing of Jon’s revelations. This will hopefully cast more than a bit of a dark cloud over the happy family premise. The new episode would also explain Jon’s comment about the 4 kids supporting Kate.

Giff said... 129

We need to remind TLC and everyone who may think of watching this that they are enabling a child abuser.

Kylie said... 130

I don't think this new show coming up is more of the same. It was probably one of those things TLC does, update people on the big events in their lives. The timing of showing that episode is great with Jon's information just coming out. This has to be making TLC scratch their heads thinking 'what is next'? Or maybe not. They are such a despicable network.

I can't imagine the comments after this airs, since almost everyone (except for Brownie, of course) has seen her true colors and are appalled.

Yet another reason to keep speaking. Make it as uncomfortable for them as possible. Make them question whether they should pull her from the lineup like everybody else who has scandals gets pulled.

Anonymous said... 132

Sad but true...119. You said exactly what I was thinking. With Jon’s revelations about the abuse, Kate should be on her best behavior, whatever that is, with regard to the kids. All eyes will be on her. I would hope, because of Hannah and Collin, the other four would know it would be okay to tell a teacher or counselor at school what was going on at home. I also hope that, behind the scenes, Jon is doing whatever he can to see the other four tups.

Also I haven't seen much mention of the 200k cold hard cash Jon had to pay TLC for "breach of contract" for refusing to fake his marriage.

That's awesome TLC, took that money right out of the kids' mouths. And set Jon up on a course where he had zero chance of getting those kids to him any time soon. They are as bad as Kate.

I don’t know if Hannah will be in this new K+8 episode. According to what I was reading online, Jon filed for custody of Hannah in 2015 when she was 11. She supposedly has been living with Jon since February of 2018. No way in hell, if that’s true, Jon would let her film or she would want to film.

Giff..,you are so right. TLC knew about the abuse and enabled the abuser for a decade. They are complicit in the Gosselin child abuse. That cannot be ignored.

I notice the "College Bound" episode is being advertised as "Kate finds a way....etc.". She has always been able to manipulate TLC by finding "a way" to keep filming; the mystery is "how". I would have thought now that Jon as been able to find his voice after the the restriction was lifted, TLC would have dropped her forever by cancelling the previously filmed episode.

I wonder if they are filming and tossing in new interviews in light of what's come up and modify part of the upcoming episode. I just don't understand where it all went so wrong. The siblings separated with probably ruined relationships (they weren't even together for their b day, were they? The sextuplets I mean), children only seeing one parent... So mnay mistakes and terrible choices/actions lead to this, it's just so sad.

@Admin i think some people's problem like me is the fact that the public has the attitude of "who cares about the Gosselins?"Don't get me wrong,im not saying Jon should keep quiet but where are the same people that were outraged over Josh Duggar molestation?Where are the calls to boycott Kate and say no more? Most of the comments i've seen said they stopped watching Kate because she got boring not because of the abuse of her kids.Even Robert Hoffman from what i remember what he said was that no media outlet cared enough to report what Kate admitted to.Again i understand why Jon is speaking out about this but its just sadly the case of most of the public doesn't care.

I'm wondering now if Brownie is in this new episode, thus upping her investment in TFW. Maybe she helped the twins with college prep?

Layla said... 140

I'm wondering if this new episode is a mishmash of a couple years of footage, all thrown together. IIRC, Kate and the kids went on a vacation to NC in the summer of 2017. People who saw them said that she only had 6 kids with her (so no Hannah). Then, a year later, she was seen in NC touring a college with M&C. Then this year M&C left for college. Nobody reported seeing any of the tups in NC last year during the college tours. I have a sneaking suspicion that they filmed the 2017 trip and threw it in with the college tour footage to make it look like they took a vacation at the same time as the tour. I think Jon refused to sign off on filming the little kids last year, so they may have spliced in the prior vacation footage and pretended it was all one trip.

This new episode is apparently airing in 10 days, and there's been nothing from TLC about it. Where's the announcement? Ads? Anything? It's almost as if they don't want people to notice it's airing. They may be releasing it earlier than expected due to the publicity from Jon. All publicity is good publicity, right? Plus they don't want to wait to see what else could be coming out.

Well we all knew that there would be some sort of special coming because she never posted any back to school/off to college pictures. It doesn’t surprise me in the least that TLC would go ahead and air this. They’re probably hoping that the recent bad publicity would draw viewers to see monster mom in action. The show will be up against some pretty tough competition since the new fall season starts this week. Tuesday night prime time line ups include:

NBC: The Voice/This Is Us/New Amsterdam
FOX: The Resident/Empire
ABC: The Conners/Bless This Mess/Mixed-Ish/Emergency
CBS: NCIS/FBI/NCIS New Orleans

I think most folks will pick their favorite line up of shows and stick with that channel.

And damn straight the other children should be considered. The victim isn't speaking here. His father is. He could have a motive that has nothing to do with what is best for his child.

&&&

Curious if this logic applies to all scenarios for you when "someone else" is speaking up and not the direct victim.

Would you say the same about Max Stier, who chose to speak up about a college student who was abused by Kaveneaugh? What right did he have to do that? When they went back to the college student herself, she doesn't even remember any such incident. Does that mean he shouldn't have said what he remembers? That he was wrong to speak up on her behalf and without her consent?

You have to follow your logic all the way through.

I wonder if Max Stier has a motive.

B.S, after 11 years in this business I've had about enough with child abuse being considered something shameful or not to be spoken about unless certain arbitrary conditions are met. You wouldn't say the same about anything else but child abuse or assaults on women. WHY?

Sue said... 145

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Identified_patient A short definition of what Kate has been doing. I brought this up back when all of the children were little. It was a stoplight flashing in my face. "This woman will eat her own children" is what I thought during the very first episode that I saw.

Kate had no friends, had alienated herself from her family, used Jodie like a slave, etc. If you cross her you will be banished. Which of the children is she now terrorizing? Which of them just can't please her? She can't survive without inflicting her anger/displeasure on someone.

This is not over, yet. The twins have no idea what to do when not being told what to do. I'm very concerned for them. And the 4 still at home? Are they plotting an escape? Or are they too afraid? Right now, Today? I would not want to be in that house with her. She is a time bomb. Maybe she should be finally be hauled off for that emergency psych eval I've been screaming for.

I donated $300.00 to Jon's fund me page & begged him to make that happen. The woman was never a mother, she was a breeder for profit.

I am not surprised at all that TLC would give her & the adult twins a going to college show. I would not even be shocked if they film for future episodes with them that are left on the cutting room floor. The money is peanuts for them & IMO is to keep her & the twins in their corner (yes bribe comes to my mind). Jon & or some of the kids WILL go after TLC for their liability in this mess. Count on it. TLC wants to keep Kate & the twins happy financially IMO. They want to keep filming kids & their families so they need to win in any court.

I remember how desperate Brownie was for Kate's attention. It was borderline stalker behavior. She was begging to meet Kate for coffee, buying her expired cereal then had to ask over and over and over for permission to drop it off. I think she even tried to coax Kate with some gift cards. So now Kate is her "best friend"? If so then it's a one-sided relationship. Kate will string Brownie along until she either pushes her too far or wants more than Brownie is able to give, and then she'll shut Brownie out forever. It's sad and pathetic, but it seems to be what they both want.

I for one am glad Jon spoke out, it puts in context what was going on.
Jon was in the process of getting Hannah, who was class president (from Kate’s Instagram post that she has since deleted). Hannah was planning on staying a LCDS.
End of June 2017 he gets Collins letter. In August, Hannah has had enough and doesn’t want to go home with her, police are called. Kate suggests inappropriate relationship between Hannah and her Dad.
Colleen sets up ground me in Sept. 2017. I seem to remember on Hannah’s Instagram them explaining that people had no idea what was going on.
In the mean time Jon has found out where Collin was, so of course she had to move him further away. Explains road trips posted with Hannah sleeping in car making the long drive to Collin. Jon’s Facebook has a picture of Collin as Waldo, as in Where’s Waldo for Halloween with his dad while he was still locked up. That kid has quite the sense of humor considering what he has been through.
I do worry for the four still locked up, I realize that they say they don’t want to speak to him, but Leah had an instagram account and was liking Colleen’s posts with Collin in it as recently as the Fourth of July but that account has been deleted.

To all who mentioned contacting TLC, thanks for the reminder. It'd been a while since I last emailed them, so I sent one this afternoon. Because the minute she's a financial liability to them, TLC will be the curb kicker and TFW will be the curb kickee.

Former Lurker said... 155

Omg, how unbelievable is this crap? WTH is wrong with TLC? They don't need any more episodes of this junk!

But, as many here predicted, the fact that TFW was totally silent about the twins going off to college likely meant she either had a special off-to-college episode coming soon, and/or a People Magazine spread to pimp the episode.

Sadly, even if TFW does some press to promote the episode, past history tells us she'll get the kid glove treatment and get no questions about Collin and Hannah and Jon's recent relevations.

This shit is never going to end. Four years from now, there will be an episode about the remaining four going off to college. Really, who gives a crap? I can't believe there's any audience left for this.

Damn, I truly despise TFW and TLC. They're ALL evil child exploiters and abusers!

The New York Times' reporters, who are about as shitty as the average tabloid writer, spoke to some senators Stier spoke to. So basically, multiple people who did not ask the woman if they could share her story or even bothered to ask her if it was true went ahead and told her story.

Same thing. Your logic applies.

Nope, logic is not opinion. Logic is logic. Many master's programs tests including the LSAT are jammed packed with logic questions, and there are right answers and wrong answers. I didn't get into law school by answering those questions with opinions. I answered with the correct answer per the logic.

If your logic is that all red round objects are apples, then by your logic a round red ball is an apple. It is what it is.

Your logic was that only the direct victim has a right to tell their story of abuse. That's what you said. Then by your logic, a woman who doesn't even remember any abuse by Kavenaugh and has not told this or any other story about him cannot and should not have her story told by anybody else. I'm just following your logic. This is not an opinion. It's a factual statement based on your logic. Unless you'd like to take back your statement that only the victims may tell of your abuse. Waiting?

It's people like you who directly caused the metoo problem. Chew on that.

How can this be called K+8? is she just not going to mention Collin or that Hannah is living with Jon? I don't think the twins have the drawing in viewers power that the whole group of 8 did in the early days.

I think Alexis is the next target...she already was. She and Collin were often excluded from activities and even shunned by her sisters. She was partnered with TFW or a helper oftentimes.. TFW has said that everyone gets along well with Joel and Aaden despite hr aversion to boys and their smell and dirty nails and general ickiness.

I find Mady and her newly nasal voice and mean comments so unpleasant.

FlimsyFlamsy said... 170

Someone mentioned a girl tup licking hand sanitizer and TFW barked something like, "You can get sick and die!" And I can absolutely see Mommie Dearest using Jon and C as examples to the other kids of what can happen if you step out of line: "I got rid of your father, I got rid of your brother...you wanna be next?"

Unknown said... 171

Why is People magazine so silent? Hoping no cover story is imminent!

roxyhelen said... 172

FlimsyFlamsy that plus making them understand that they can't choose both her and Jon, I suspect. After all, Hannah chose to live with Jon and now she barely ever sees her mom and siblings. I remember when Mady posted that picture saying "7/8 reunion". How very wrong. Family reunions are meant to happen late in life, when perhaps adult siblings have gone to live far away from each other and have been caught up with work /families of their own. Not when you're 14 because you chose to live with your dad and that means seing your other siblings/parent is a rare event.

FlimsyFlamsy said... 173

Unknown (#171), I'm sure hoping there's no People cover. But their silence, combined with TFW not saying boo about Mady and Cara on social media, and the news about the upcoming K+8 episode certainly all point to at least a paid photo shoot of the twins at their new schools, with Mommie Dearest poking and dabbing by their sides.

So do Mady and Cara, at 18 years old, now get their OWN paychecks from People for giving up their privacy? Something tells me TFW went to the Jim-Bob Duggar school of family finance, which means I'm awfully suspicious that the kids will be treated fairly.

FlimsyFlamsy said... 174

roxyhelen (#172), yep, we all know TFW's famous rallying cry: you're either with me or against me. The fact that H voluntarily left shows incredible strength. And it wouldn't surprise me if she's the one who ultimately writes the book.

Formerly Duped (#169), I believe A and J are safe because they probably do the dirty, icky chores. And since they're away in the man cave, when she doesn't need them, she can just pretend they don't exist (see Gosselin, C.).

Sadly I don't think these kids will ever have good relationships with one another and even less so as time goes on. Kate has made certain of that, she has never seen the importance of fostering good relationships and doesn't even care if she is close with her own children, as long as they are available to do her bidding. Old age is going to be very solitary for Kate and her ungrateful offspring will likely avoid her as much as possible. Hopefully they can form close friendships and are able to reconnect with a father who they will come to realize never stopped loving them, but had so many circumstances blocking him from allowing him to show them.

One would think so, but we all tried for years to get this abusive beast cancelled. We wrote letters to all of the advertisers, wrote to Figure8, TLC, the Governor (Ed ?) and anyone we could think of. And that was when millions were watching. This old horse is just going to plod along in HDTV until its last gasp, or when Kate finally implodes.

And I still don't think there was anything between her and Steve. He's not a stupid man. I have always believed he was there to "handle" her. He needed to puff her up, calm her down, keep her happy, & above all, keep people away from her. (maybe for their own good?)

The only real question I have ever wanted answered is - Did Jon know that Kate deliberately tried to outdo the McCaughey family? Was Jon in on it?

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 178

Just wondering, all true, but one should never give up on abused kids. Just because they're continually ignored by everybody else, because the bad things that happened to them are not treated on the same level as other bad things, just because straw men want to blame the whistleblower and protect the perpetrator, just because people have arbitrary rules for how and when abuse should be disclosed that incidentally tend to heavily favor the perpetrator's privacy and not the victim's. Never give up.

Giff said... 179

I agree that these kids will probably never be close as adults. I don't think Mady and Cara even care. They have each other and have really never shown affection towards the tups. I remember at one time, Jon said the girls were not speaking to Hannah, but the boys were. I'm thinking the girls harbor a lot of jealousy and resentment towards Hannah. Hannah and Collin have each other, and an older sister and brother figure in Colleen's children and also a healthy relationship with their extended families...that is a huge benefit. Very soon, the 4 at home will no longer be of use to Kate. The public will no longer care what they are doing. Kate will drop them and move on with her life. They will end up with a mother who doesn't care, older sisters who don't care, a father they have been alienated from and extended families they don't know. Unless they can reconnect with their father, they will have no family they can ever turn to. Collin and Hannah suffered greatly, but in return, they have a real mother, their father, extended families who love them and most importantly, Kate is not dictating their lives and abusing them. The 4 still at home need rescuing and fast.

I think TLC had already filmed this episode and decided to just air it and have it over with. I'm encouraged by the fact that it only seems to be 1 episode. They have never aired just one episode at a time. Even the tups' 10th birthday was a 2-part special. They must have planned this for a long time--they filmed the college tour about a year ago--so they just had to do the leaving-for-college stuff and call it an episode. But they're not making it part of a new season (at least it doesn't look like they are), and that's a good thing.

We have a new family member! No, not the grandbaby yet--that's still a couple weeks away. One of the sons was out with his friends last night and arrived home at 2am with a kitten that had been abandoned by the side of the road. "Mom, look at her, we have to help her!" Poor thing was filthy, skinny, and covered in fleas--and no more than 5 or 6 weeks old. I sent DS out to find a 24-hour store where he could get a litter box, cat litter, flea shampoo, etc, and we stayed up for hours bathing and feeding her. She had some soft food and milk, she hated her bath, and clung to DS and wouldn't let go. DS fell asleep with her on his chest. Walking down the stairs this morning, seeing them sleeping happily together on the family room sofa, I knew she was here for good.

Kate payed lip service to wanting all the younger girls to be close. Remember the Sight & Sound episode where she wanted all 3 girls to clean their room? Hannah & Leah told Alexis to get out and Jon questioned why Alexis needed to clean it, as she didn’t even sleep there. Kate naturally freaked out in the nastiest way possible and said it was indeed Alexis’ room too. She said she wanted all the girls to be close; the problem was (and is) that she refused to put her money where her mouth is. Ultimately she doesn’t care about familial relationships. How can she preach about fostering close relationships when she has discarded every family member she has?

The kitty is named Piper, and she already adores her "Dad" (that would be DS). She wants to lie on his chest or snuggle on his lap at all times, and scampers after him when he gets up. She's so cute--great big eyes and ears. We were up for hours tending to her. DS went to a couple 24-hour stores to get a supplies, but panicked when he realized she was too small and probably too young for any of the flea stuff. He ended up texting a friend whose father is a vet, and they had the supplies we needed. He ran by to pick them up (at 3am!), and we were up until 5am bathing and feeding her. I was worried that she wouldn't make it through the night--she was in bad shape--but she's awake and alert and has definitely decided she's in charge. The dogs love her and come running to check on her every time she meows. I think she's here to stay!

FlimsyFlamsy (187)
Nope, I'm a complete sucker and DS knows it. He's a softy too, which is the reason he just couldn't walk away when he spotted her. He's decided she gets to go everywhere with him and ran out this afternoon and bought tons of cat toys and a soft-sided carrier that can be buckled into his car. Piper doesn't know it yet, but she lucked out. She has a new dad who's going to spoil the heck out of her and a nana who doesn't want to put her down.

GIff my question, how do they eat a broccoli stalk and chicken without a knife? They’re high school students, they should be able to handle a knife!

Exactly - & the bare table, paper plates & empty chairs makes for a very bleak setting. The bird on the table doesn't help either!!

Such a nice story about the little kitty Layla!

Yes, I did quit this blog. The only reason I posted was because a friend who knew I was the "blog historian" let me know that you mentioned me, which is why I responded.

Sure that's how it happened.

I'm betting the episode scheduled for next week now needs some major retakes in the wake of Jon's Daily Mail interview. She can't really blather on anymore about Collin and his "fluid diagnosis," since Jon claims all C has is ADHD (and I would imagine a doctor has verified that), and he's doing really well in a public (OMG!) school. Who knew it was possible for a Gosselin tup to go to a public school and do well?!

In addition, I think whatever footage they have of the tups is coming from that 2017 summer sojourn in NC. We didn't get any info on actual film crews there, but it certainly seemed suspicious when K8 posted a couple of "candid" photos (when no cameras were in sight). I wonder if there's a legal issue about broadcasting anything featuring H when her dad has shut down filming for her. I am pretty sure that if she's on cam, there will be the insinuation that she's still living with Mommy and sibs, which could not be further from the truth.

It will be interesting to see how TLC handles all of this, if indeed they go ahead with this October 1 episode. My guess is, LOTS of filler with the twins, very few shots of the tups, LOTS of Mommy crying in her beer as the twins depart.

Sad but true (193)
Yep, that's what I thought about the 2017 summer trip--that they are airing footage from that and pretending it was during the twins' college visits. Someone who saw them reported that there were 6 kids, so Hannah wasn't there. I don't think Jon had refused to give permission to film the others at that time.

DS's girlfriend was here all day (she's the one who picked out Piper's name), and she had TLC on--she likes all the 90-Day Fiance shows, so that's what was on. Hours of shows and not a single mention of the upcoming K+8 episode. They ran ads for current TLC shows, upcoming shows, shows airing on Discovery and Fox and Oxygen channel--but no K+8. It's only 9 days away. So...are they going to promote it or just air it and hope nobody notices? We'll see.

Sad but true (#193), it'll be rich if TFW talks about how much the kids are going to miss their sister. Because apparently the loss of their dad and their brother has had zero impact on their lives.

I'm just remembering how she compared C's disappearance to him being away at college. No, you idiot, when you're away at college, you can come home to visit, and people can go see you. She threw that little boy away.

FlimsyFlamsy I just keep remembering that moment caught on tape when Collin, aged 3-4, leaves with Jon and asks Kate "Mommy will you miss me?" and Kate says "I sure will without even turning to look at him.

Roxyhelen (#196), well, to be fair, she was busy loving up on H, her then favorite, so it was an inopportune time for her to turn around and acknowledge his existence. Remember, this was all happening with cameras rolling, and a crewful of people standing around. We have no idea how bad things were when she was alone with her children.

But the most poignant part to me was when TFW said she'd miss him, he said something like, "Then I'm gonna miss you, too!" The sweet boy didn't even seem to realize she was giving him the brush off.

“Kate finds a way to combine Mady and Cara's college tours with a fun vacation for the family. Flash forward a year later and Kate gets ready for the twins to leave the nest and start college.

So I’m wondering if they will show the NC vacation and college tour from 2017, but fast forward to the twins actual departure a month ago. They will probably show the four tips, hoping nobody notices toward the end.Around the time C was shipped off, he would appear in clips of the show and not be shown in others. This is probably why Mady hasn’t posted a YouTube video of her departure, as she promised her fans in the last vid.

GigiBe (#198), it ought to be interesting to see whatever hocus pocus TLC comes up with to assemble this crapfest.

Remember when Jon complained about having to keep his beard for "continuity?" It was one thing to go back and forth between weeks and fool people into thinking it all happened in sequence. But how can you show clips of kids going back and forth between puberty and pretend it's not out of order?

Side note, is Kate one of those parents who when one kid gets something nice, she's got to give the other kids something equally nice or better?

This way no kid ever gets anything nice to themselves just to savor themselves, and the other kids never learn any patience to wait for their nice things when it's their turn.
