An over two-year investigation finally led to Duggar's arrest by Homeland Security yesterday.
A Springdale man was arrested yesterday for receiving and possessing material depicting the sexual abuse of children.
According to court documents, Joshua James Duggar, 33, allegedly used the internet to download child sexual abuse material. Duggar allegedly possessed this material, some of which depicts the sexual abuse of children under the age of 12, in May 2019.
Duggar is charged by indictment with receiving and possessing child pornography. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years of imprisonment and fines up to $250,000.00 on each count.. A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
This case is being prosecuted as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice. Led by U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and CEOS, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims. Acting U.S. Attorney David Clay Fowlkes of the Western District of Arkansas; and Acting Special Agent in Charge Jack Staton of Homeland Security Investigations New Orleans made the announcement.
This case is being investigated by Homeland Security Investigations Fayetteville and the Northwest Arkansas Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Carly Marshall and Dustin Roberts, and Trial Attorney William G. Clayman of the Justice Department’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section.

I guess I’m the only one that kind of likes her new house. I think that it’s all the built-in bookshelves and things like that that does it for me. Maybe it’s because I’m from the Jersey shore and this is a typical summer house. I could live in it without a problem. Add a few skylights for a bit more light and definitely someplace I’d be sweeping sand out of.

I think Kate has been just too fortunate to get some things we thought she never would. Her chance on DWTS, dating show, trips, ability to buy expensive things while not working (whether she used the kids money or just invested her own real well.) So it wouldn't surprise me if she has hooked up with Jeff Boyd or some other millionaire. If it were Jeff he would be why she got that place. He is into adventurous things so could be one with a boat, jetski etc. to use at her dock.

I don't think taste is all subjective. This is not a case of preferring skirts to skorts.
There are some objectively bad houses. It doesn't mean that some people won't like them, but that doesn't make it any less objective. There are some people who are perfectly happy to live in a hoarder house. It doesn't make it an acceptable way to live or a nice home.
I'd live in the house just fine but for the location, but I'd probably update it as soon as I could.

I don't think Kate has hooked up with anyone. Filming is all she ever wanted, and she would see any new relationship as something she could use for filming. She would have called up Kate Coyne at People Magazine and made sure they splashed "Kate's New Love!" on the cover. Then she would have shopped around for a new show. I'm not surprised there's no new show--it really looks as if she'd been blacklisted by the networks--but People Mag would have taken the bait.
She didn't move to NC for Jeff--she bought the house right when K+D8 was announced, so she wouldn't have even met him by then. And, of course, he started a relationship with someone else rather than Kate. He obviously wasn't as taken with her as she was with him. She probably thought she could film a few seasons of K+D8, and then maybe find a guy and have another show about their relationship. But filming was always the plan. Always.
I don't think she's very happy with where she is now. She never intended to give up the house in PA--she said so many, many times. I think she believed filming would go on indefinitely and she'd add more properties. A beach house, maybe on the Outer Banks (not on some random lake somewhere), and an apartment in NYC (her "second home"!). But she was dropped flat and nobody has given her the time of day. That must sting a bit, especially with that train wreck Mama June still filming to this day. Kate's living in what is, for her, reduced circumstances, and I can guarantee you she's not thrilled with it.
Baby K is smiling now! She just beams when she sees her adoring big brother, and he is absolutely smitten with her. He likes to help feed her her bottle, and runs to fetch a diaper and wipes when she needs to be changed. He's so gentle with her, and we're all just loving watching their relationship develop. They're definitely going to be best buddies.

So many times something has been brought up here that she could get or do and many of us said oh no never would they "ask her to dance", "make a dating show for her", " film another season", find a guy at all, support her family without going back to work.
So nothings impossible in my eyes. Considering all the fakiness on reality tv (preplanned home sales for example) Who's to say that she didn't know him before the show and put it in a non disclosure contract so he couldn't tell? If she can mooch off the millionaire she won't have to film. She may have met another one since too. You never know.

Perhaps she did know him before the show started filming, but by the time it aired, he was with someone else. So if there was a relationship before filming, it ended before anyone saw it on TV. Kate's love of filming seems to have just as much to do with her ego as money. When she was with Jeff the millionaire (back in about 2013?), he left her because he didn't want to film a show centered on them and she did. So even though she was with a rich man at that time, she still wanted to film. I don't think anyone ever said the guy from the dating show was a millionaire, but he also fled so it doesn't matter. She said she wanted another season of K+D8--"What else is out there?" but she didn't get it.
Kate may be dating someone, but that doesn't mean the man is supporting her and her kids. She probably still wants/needs to make money, and filming has always been her plan. There's also so much she still wanted to do--remember all those "bucket list" trips? If she were filming, they could take those trips, have them paid for, and also collect a paycheck. There's simply no way she'd walk away from filming if she still had the opportunity. She said she wanted to be "old and grey and probably still filming".

What interest would there be in filming her? She’s only got 4 of the tups and Mady. Apparently Cara didn’t come “home” for the summer and is living her best life on her own and in privacy.
I feel so, so about the house. It seems kind of chopped up with rooms going everywhere but I guess that could be just how the photos show it. $750,000 is pretty cheap for a house on the water, even if it is a lake. But then again I live in NH and when I first moved here in 1993, our biggest Lake Winnipesaukee was dotted with cute little camps that working people could afford to buy. Then in the 2000s rich people from out of state bought up the land the little cottages were on and now Lake Winni is dotted with McMansions. You couldn't find a house on Lake Winni for less than a million. So, what Kate paid was a bargain. Then again, a lot of New Englanders are headed to N. & S. Carolina because properties and cost of living is a lot cheaper than up here.
There are several places that offer tubing on Lake Norman (I looked it up). They have the boats and all the equipment, you just have to pay for the outing. If they were filming, Mady wouldn't be allowed to post a video. Otherwise, it's possible that someone they know took them out for a day on a boat, but I'd bet she just booked a day of boating/tubing with a local company.

Absolutely. Asians are victims of governments like this. And by the way, the stats show, Asian hate is not on some huge upswing. They have reclassified Asian hate to basically be anything including a side eye. And when they throw out things like it's up 300%, it's because there was an increase from 1 to 4 incidents in one year--statistically insignificant. I'm not sure why you care what I think about that. But years ago when I was doing much more writing, always period pieces, one of my novels incorporated a Native American reservation school circa 1876 in Montana, the sort that kidnapped children from their parents and attempted to assimilate them. The plot involved an outbreak of dysentery at the school due to poor sanitation, and child abuse that occurred at the hands of some of the teachers. It was fascinating researching that.

For a total of FOUR in two years! Hate crimes in general are going DOWN. Josh might be better off sitting in jail right now. The time served would count toward his sentence. The longer he delays it, the more he'll have to start his sentence from scratch.
Anonymous, I live in Southern California--when I think about it I have far more Asian friends than white friends. It's hard not to. Same with Hispanic friends. But I don't say these are my "asian" friends and these are my "hispanic" friends. They're just my friends.
God knows how many times I've been with my friends out and about socially over the past 20 years as well as traveled with them to other parts of the country and even world. People bully others for absolutely anything, and there will never be enough laws to cover all the things people don't like others to say. Example: In jr high school I was bullied by a group of boys who called me "Ace". They thought I looked like Ace Frehley from KISS. Looking back, I was tall and thin and had the same hairstyle, so... I get it. But back then it drove me nuts (which is why they did it). My mom was bullied in high school in the 50s for being thin. "Skinny Minnie, she's not skinny. She's just tall, that's all". Nobody goes through life without someone saying something that hurts their feelings. Nobody. Doesn't mean someone has to be prosecuted for it.

And schools have been doing a great job in identifying what bullying is crossing the line to daily harassment and cracking down on it. And what bullying is just normal adolescent behavior.
I was bullied as a kid too. Most everyone is at some point. I was smart and skinny and needed braces. Don't you think as a 12 year old girl that really, really hurt? God forbid people have experiences in life that are tough. They just might come out on top in the end. I don't see how you can parse out a kid who teases and Asian who also goes on to tease the smart kids and say that kid is racist. Or maybe he's just an insecure asshole who has a bad home life and take it out on any kid he can find. There's a difference.

While I don't disagree that religions are pretty much fantasy beliefs, most religions in the US are not cults. Worshiping a sports team is a fantasy too. Most people define cults as having one or a few charismatic leaders and the sect is brainwashing in an attempt to exploit its members. I.e., harmful.
There's little to nothing harmful about schlepping the family to church on Sunday for a few hours, throwing a couple 20s in the collection plate and then schlepping back home to your normal life. Silly to some, maybe, but not harmful to the family or kids. It's just not the same thing as what the Duggars practice and how it's caused actual harm to their kids.
Most religions in the US are completely compatible with science and don't in any way discourage people who practice it to not fully embrace science. There are many religious scholars who also have advanced degrees in Chemistry, Physics and Biology. I am friends with a rather famous one who has written several books. In fact, it's a red flag for me that it could be a cult if a religion out there is actively discouraging a disregard for the sciences.
Lol, this reminds me of the good ole days of sleuthing here. I'm proud of them for figuring that one out.

Do your members include children? Is the main subject about God? Then, yes, adults are teaching children not to trust their own eyes. I’ve only ever attended Protestant progressive churches where questions and doubts are supported and even encouraged. I was never made to feel bad or guilty as a child. I doubt I would have stayed with any church past 18 otherwise given the academic in me. That said I haven’t set foot in church in years, but not because I think they are brainwashing me. But rather because I’m pretty agnostic these days of my own accord. Ironically the church being so open minded about my doubts resulted in me leaving. I felt free to leave without judgement. Even if you don't believe in anything, there is a fair argument that the healthy community of a religious group is extremely beneficial to people, regardless of what they believe. There is a direct correlation between people turning away from religion more and more, and the rise of cult groups like BLM, Proud Boys, Antifia, and Aanon. All also fantasies, but most extremely destructive and certainly not based on logic, reality, statistics or science. I guess it's okay when those groups ignore the actual facts of what's actually going on, but not religious groups? Come off it, it's the same thing.

There is ample evidence that sexual abuse goes reported. We know this because it comes out years later. You are correct, The same thing has not occurred for something like Asian hate. There is no analogy here. You can't say that because sex crimes go unreported, so does Asian hate, you can't make that stretch.
Surely you understand that certain crimes are much more likely to be reported than others. Especially ones in which the evidence is always physical such that it's hard not to report it I.e. someone attacking and hurting you, stealing from you, or damaging your business. These incidents have a very high rate of being reported. Sexual abuse, as I KNOW from working in this area for 13 years, almost never involves physical evidence. Almost never. Most rape kits are negative. Contrary to what Law and Order will tell you, it's very, very hard to tell whether someone has been molested. Surely you understand that most other crimes do not have nearly the non-reporting rates as sexual abuse does.

Because they're so incredibly different. There's no comparison. And comparing someone being molested to someone being called a name because of their race is just ignorant. There are extensive studies about the underreporting of sex crimes. No such studies exist or are compelling for other crimes. It's guesswork. I prefer to operate on actual studies and stats, not intuition and guessing.

Josh’s trial was originally scheduled for July 6, but on Tuesday, a judge granted his request to extend the trial date. The new date is scheduled for November 30, with a pretrial conference beginning on November 18. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison and $250,000 in fines for each count.

I just read the news that Counting On has been cancelled. Why did it take so long? It should have been immediate, but somehow that ridiculous network refuses to let go of even the worst of people, no matter what they do. Sure, you can say that Josh isn't on the show anymore so why punish the rest? But Josh is benefiting from the money the family makes, and it's wrong to offer him that kind of support, especially when his original victims have to work to provide it for him.
It may sound mean, but I hope Jim Bob takes a huge financial hit from paying for Josh's defense. It's his ego that created this monster and covered for him so that he could continue to victimize children. He (and Michelle) knew their son was a predator, but refused to pause their incessant breeding to focus on getting their son the treatment he needed. Part of the blame definitely belongs on their shoulders.
The fact that the government was prepared to go to trial means they believe they have an airtight case that is ready to go right now. The Duggars' attorneys have failed to turn over some documents, but I'd be willing to bet they don't even need them. Icing on the cake.
OT, but our princess is now 1 month old! She's bright-eyed and alert, she can lift her head up when she's lying on her tummy, and her favorite person in the whole world is her big brother (and the feeling is mutual). Again, this is a convenient argument you and your lot make. If you simply say well maybe your facts are wrong, then no one can EVER dispute your point. See how that works? You're so right. The only thing that gets the attention of narcissists like TFW & JimBob is a hard hit to their wallets and losing their tv shows does the trick. (I'm so glad TLC cancelled "Counting On", again, this week.) No show and much lower income should give them plenty to think about. "Doubling Down with the Derricos" is a family with 14 kids. They've had different multiple pregnancies, all supposedly naturally, from twins to quints, I think. They're all literally squeezed into a typical 2 story Las Vegas 1980's tract home (4 bedrooms max.)
The family room sofa sits almost pushed against the kitchen island (just enuf space to squeeze between them), then there's a coffee table, & then there's about 2-3' before you hit the wall with the tv.) It is tight! The Dad's Mom & an adult male family friend sometimes live with them. Mom & Dad Derrico are both verrry controlling about even very unimportant things.
The dad wants a LOT of children - period, no exceptions. I got a very uncomfortable feeling watching the show. The grandma, his mom, thinks they have more than enuf kids & they need to stop, but he says absolutely not.
The kids are isolated from outsiders. Flags go up for me with this family for so many reasons. The kids are so innocent & sweet & haven't a clue. Has anyone else seen this show?

I think there must be a certain kind of person who seeks out a reality show--extreme narcissists who have no concern for the well-being of their children. I remember when my DIL was trying IUI (before the grandbabies came along), she had two cycles and both produced too many eggs. The doctor said to abstain during those cycles so she wouldn't end u having HOMs, and she did. One of her friends jokingly asked her if she'd try to have lots of babies at once and get a reality show, and DIL said, "Absolutely not!" She and my DS turned to IVF, and we now have our two beautiful miracle babies. No desire for a disaster of a reality show, just happy childhoods surrounded by people who adore them.

With the history of the case, the number of women involved, the high profiles of the defendant and some of the women, I can't believe he took the chance to file and then carry thru with the case knowing this could happen at any time. Less than a week after TLC confirmed that the show had ended after 11 seasons on air, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar released a statement on Saturday on behalf of the entire family, in which they addressed the cancellation news.
"It is hard to believe that more than 17 years have passed since we were first contacted by a production company wanting to do a one-hour documentary about the logistics of raising 14 children," their statement began. "Our family has grown (and grown up!) before our eyes and on national television, and the journey has been miraculous—following God is an exciting adventure!"
They continued, "Over the years, some of our most treasured moments have been those when we met children across the country who are alive today because of our testimony that children are a blessing—a special gift from God—and that the only real hope for individuals and families is a close relationship with Jesus Christ."
In their statement, Jim Bob, 55, and Michelle, 54, referenced filming "difficult and painful moments" over the years.
"Since we began filming so long ago, we've had the amazing honor to share our lives, our faith, and our story with you—including some of the most difficult and painful moments our family has ever faced," they said. "We are full of deep gratitude for the love shown to us and the prayers of so many who have sustained us both now and through the years."
"We look forward to all the new adventures and endeavors that may come our way, and with so many grown children and wonderful grandchildren, we know our love will only continue to multiply!" the statement concluded. "We are forever grateful for our film crew and so many others behind the scenes who have become like family to us over the years. The wonderful experiences that filming has provided us will be treasured always, and we look forward to discovering what's next for our family and sharing more with you along the way!"

I saw a couple recent videos from Without A Crystal Ball, and she's reporting that Jim Bob is shocked that the show was cancelled. Apparently he believed that since Josh isn't on the show, and they weren't cancelled (just re-branded/re-named) with the last scandal, they were in no danger. They were making an average of $850,000 a year from filming, and JB was keeping most of the money himself, so this is a huge blow for him. And, just as I was hoping, it's reported that he's spending millions on Josh's defense, plus having to pay for other lawsuits from one or more of his grown kids. Good! That is just what I wanted to see. Maybe now he'll open his eyes and take a good, hard look at the mess he has helped create.

Blue Jay, we traveled 10 years in our RV, may cross-country trips as well as local. Hubby's back issues put an end to that 10 years ago. A friend and I were planning to fly to Seattle and cruise to Alaska but we postponed it to 2022. WE're 78 and 80 and decided to be cautious.

Unlike Kate who said they wouldn't film if the children didn't want to but miraculously every time a family vote came up, they voted to continue the show.
I watched this show some. They seemed like a nice family, not much drama. The parents met when they were young in school. The mother's parents helped them, and the mother was an only child so these were her parents' only grandchildren. I did notice one of the older boys was very emotional sort of like Mady. I'm glad they listed to the children.

Portland is a disgrace and nobody will go there because of the mess that it has become. Same with Chicago, Baltimore, Atlanta, NYC. Every large, Democrat-run city in America has become a war zone. We now own a NYC apartment, but we never would have considered buying it if it weren't a necessity. The only saving grace is the fact that it's on the UES, which hasn't seen much violence, but when we're there we rarely dare to venture to other parts of the city. Except to get cookies. It's almost impossible for me to go to NYC and leave without cookies from Schmackary's. Especially when they have the s'mores kind. Or the peanut butter after dark. But both of those are out of season right now, so I guess we're safe for the summer. But I digress....

We all just returned from our 4th of July travels, and it was a welcome break for everyone. The boys and their friends scattered to Montauk and Myrtle Beach, while DH and I stuck closer to home--we went to Middleburg, Va, which is the cutest little town! I would like to address the "Well Read Individual" who was unaware of the severe problems in Portland.
My hubby (who has always been beyond healthy) developed a medical problem. We moved into a different home in the last months and were unfamiliar with doctors and facilities in this new area. Cue the phone calls and the learning curve.
We live outside a major city in a border state. Illegals arrive in packed busses. Many of them are being flown on to other cities less crowded. Last month there was an uproar when 5 large Greyhound busses arrived filled with girls -- none older than 18. Those young ladies arrived with no plans for housing or jobs and without their families. Where do we think they will go?
Food banks are empty. Emergency rooms are filled. Even though old motels are being re-purposed there is inadequate housing. I heard a report of 4,000 immigrants arriving in just one day.
Churches try to help. Our local government is trying to reduce the problems. The crime rate has increased. Since crimes with damages less than $1,000 are no longer being prosecuted, bold thieves walk into a store and take what they want under that limit and just walk out. Many stores have reduced their hours. Police have announced there will be no more high speed chases on major highways. We are now cautioned to avoid "hit and run" assault thefts. Criminal strikes and flees onto the interstate -- planned opportunity.
Back to hubby and his health. We were advised not to go to an ER "cold". Call an ambulance and hope for quicker attention upon arrival. Better advice -- don't go to one at all. The Emergency Rooms are full and the average wait time is 3-5 hours to be seen.
Health care professionals, weary from Covid care and now faced with over-flowing patients, are quitting. Most hospitals are under-staffed.
We did finally get the doctor appointments that we needed. We learned that the surgeon we consulted has had his surgical days at the hospital reduced to one (Monday) and his patients who require surgery are scheduled to wait. Emergency care is allocated to cardiac episodes and accidents.
We encountered compassionate and efficient professionals at blood labs and imaging centers and in doctor's offices. All over-whelmed. We waited our turn in standing room only waiting rooms. I had ample time to study the other patients sharing our space. We were fortunate. Hubby was in pain and quite sick but I knew we had the insurance and the language skills to get the help we would need -- eventually.
At the pharmacy, I learned that certain meds are on back-order and a prescription cannot always be filled. Procedure -- call the doctor, wait for a response and hope for a substitute.
I came home and googled -- I could not find any detailed news stories or reports of what seemed like a critical situation to me. All our info was received from the front lines of care.
We just didn't know. It was our turn to learn. "Well Informed Individual" may be as blind as we were. We have relatives in Milwaukee. We have friends in Oregon and Phoenix. Their reports are alarming. But, I don't really see many of their stories in the news either.
I have no idea how our country will turn itself around. Covid and political decisions have crippled us.
Hubby and I had time to discuss what we can do...which seems totally inadequate. I filled some bags for the Food Bank. I contacted one of the very active churches and asked how we could help. They desperately needed blankets and pillows. I could provide those. Small effort. Big problem.
I tried to use few words here. I tried to keep my worry (and fear) thoughts from exaggerating the details.
I hope this information helps "Well Informed". He/she does not have to believe me. I get that. I was stunned.

Wow, you've never really spent time in NYC during tourist season, have you? People are not "packed in", at least not the way they used to be. I'm glad you had a great time...let me guess, you were able to get great rooms at a nice hotel, tables at good restaurants without reservations, and you breezed right in to the best stores without waiting in line. No Broadway shows, but maybe you're not the cultured sort. And that's a great trip to you, isn't it? To anyone who really knows NYC, this is alarming. It's easy to get good hotel rooms and tables at good restaurants and shopping without lines because there's not enough people there. NYC desperately needs tourism dollars and those hotels, restaurants, and shops are desperate for your money. They can't afford to be exclusive these days. The lack of tourism dollars is going to equate to a downturn in the city's financial base. Not good. Of course, maybe I'm giving you too much credit. Maybe you're one of those tourists who stays in a budget hotel, eats at McDonalds every day, and hangs out at Times Square taking pictures of the Naked Cowboy. In that case, I'm sure it was a rollicking good time. Good for you.

OT, but Baby K is almost 2 months old already! She's a snuggly, smiley, happy girl, she can roll over and is starting to be able to grab her toys. His new activity is Lacrosse--just like his daddy! We got him a kiddy Lacrosse set and he's just loving it. Y'know, this young lady, her public face might also wind her up with difficulty getting employed perhaps. No expert too much in how employees do things today, but don't some look up candidates online, run their names and if you're too open on social media things like that or you come across with a certain attitude you might find yourself hard to be employable? Mady is being particularly obnoxious about having gotten exactly what she wanted as a child. She always wanted to film. Remember when the show was cancelled the first time (2011), Mady said that the Disney Channel was her dream. When she did the dating show with Kate, she was an adult, so it was her choice to film. If anything I think she's irritated by the fact that she's not being filmed now. She, like her mother, loved the cameras. Reality TV is not true "show business". She probably didn't know that acting required real work. My nephew is an actor in NYC, and the work required to make a living is insane. Constant singing, dancing, and acting lessons, in addition to auditions, rehearsals, meetings, memorizing lines, plus the actual performances. He works 7 days a week, 15+ hours a day. Somehow I just can't imagine Mady doing that. She's been taught that she just has to show up and be obnoxious and someone will film her. No effort necessary.
As far as ADHD is concerned, it's a challenge, but it's not something unique to her. She should have been diagnosed as a child and had ongoing treatment. If not, then her mother is to blame. She had full custody, and instead of trying to convince the public that her kids were perfect students with no issues whatsoever, she should have acknowledged any learning issues and addressed them privately. We know she failed Collin by trying to keep up the "perfect kids" facade, so maybe she failed Mady too. The good new is, ADHD is manageable. Two of my boys have it, and they're grown men who are thriving in their careers and their lives.

Duggar was arrested on federal child pornography charges on April 29 following a 2019 Homeland Security raid on his property.
According to the indictment, he is alleged to have downloaded material depicting child sexual abuse in May 2019.

He has pleaded not guilty and his trial is scheduled for November 30.
It was originally set for July 6, but his attorneys pushed to have a judge postpone it.
His computer was reportedly equipped with a 'dark web' browser that could have let him anonymously search for child porn.
The 'Tor' browser would have allowed him to bypass anti-porn software called 'Covenant Eyes' that his wife Anna installed to monitor what her husband viewed.
He faces two federal charges carrying up to 40 years in prison and is currently on house arrest at the home of a family friend.
On May 8, he was released on bail, with the condition that he stay with a third party, family friends LaCount and Maria Reber.
Despite the seriousness of his charges, Josh is allowed to see his children — Mackynzie Renée, 11, Michael James, 10, Marcus Anthony, 7, Meredith Grace, 5, Mason Garrett, 3, and Maryella Hope, 19 months — as long as Anna is present.
A source told People that Anna, 32, doesn't believe the charges against him and has no intention of ending the marriage — or walking away with their six children and seventh unborn baby.
'She's standing by him,' the source said. 'She thinks Josh is innocent.'

At leas Hannah has independence. I mean I know as parents you white knuckle it with your kids they drive your car. Sometimes a relationship becomes such an old hat that the most obvious person to thank you leave out. Could be just an oversight. In any case I really think she brought a wonderful calming influence to the children she was able to help raise and I think even if they've split or one day will split, that it's very likely she'll remain in their lives as a friend and support. If they have parted ways, I hope it was amicable and that they're able to remain friends.
As for her cancer diagnosis, I cannot imagine who scary that is especially during COVID times, and I'm rooting for her all the way.
From what Jon said in the interview about H&C getting their license, having cars and both having jobs, it definitely sounds like he and Colleen are no longer together. He talked about how hard Collin works and how Hannah had just started a job. He said he gives them their independence and doesn't check up on them, they check up on him. It almost sounded like they were not living with him. I feel bad for H and C if this is true. They have been forced by circumstances to grow up and become independent at such a very young age. By contrast, their brothers and sisters seem to be stunted as far as independence is concerned, being under the thumb and reliant on their mother for their every need. I just hope they all find some balance as adults.

It sounds like they are doing very normal and age appropriate activities like driving and first jobs. This is good for them. His parenting style sounds very laid back, not sweating the small stuff, which works just fine for some kids and in fact is what some thrive under. When a kid earns a laid back approach, it can work very well.

I have strong suspicions this is some big spin to hide that the kids got taken away from her. It all fits, she went to go stay with Josh, the kids are with relatives. Why on earth would you spend all this time with him otherwise and not with your own kids who must be suffering, so confused and frightened. I think she would be with those kids 24/7 and make her visits with him brief. Certainly not an overnight without the kids.

As for Anna Duggar, it's terrible to see her putting Josh before her own children. They didn't do anything wrong, and their world has been turned upside down. Now is the time that they need the most comfort and reassurance from their mother, and she's spending her time with Josh instead. I've seen some reports saying that they've been dumped with relatives so she can be with Josh. If that's true then she does not deserve to call herself their mother. They need to be with people they can trust and rely on. That, sadly, does not appear to be their parents.
I think Collin and Hannah sound like very normal teenagers. They drive, they have jobs...all the things the other G kids apparently aren't allowed to do. Even Mady is home this summer, rather than working an internship or doing something that will help her get a job after college. I hope she doesn't just expect a career to fall into her lap once she graduates, because she'll be competing against people who have work and internship experience to put on their resumes. She has to realize that.

I'm glad Jon's defending himself from all those abandonment accusations. Also, Mady has a TicTok up and TFW is in it. Looks like she’s put on a few pounds and hair isn’t so blonde. I did reach out to Colleen on IG because I am a breast cancer survivor. She was very nice and we chatted back and forth and I told her that yes, cancer sucks, but you will get through it and you will survive. I did not mention anything about Jon because I wanted to encourage her in her battle. She seems very optimistic as well she should be.

I don’t think anyone feels that level of investment. I think we’ve been very glad that someone good has been there for the kids in his custody. They were probably at a point where they should’ve either put a ring on it or broken up. They went the path of breaking up, and they did so very maturely, by going to therapy and making sure there is no possible way to make it work out. It’s not unusual for a relationship to come to a natural end. It doesn’t mean it wasn’t a good one or it never should’ve happened. Life evolves.

That is not how Jon said it happened. He said the decision was mutual. That they "BOTH" determined it was the "natural end."
I get the sense they were having relationship issues, what those are aren't my business, and were mature adults who tried to work it out in therapy, and couldn't and so mutually agreed the best course of action would be to part ways. This is how mature adults end a relationship that is no longer working.
The seven year itch is a very real thing for many relationships. That's about the time you really see whether your trajectory is coming together or growing apart. It almost always seems like if you make it a year you'll make it to seven, and if you make it past seven, good chance it'll last forever. But those are two big milestones to get through and no judgement if it just isn't woking.

I hadn't looked at Mady's TikTok in a long time, but went to see the video. Yep, Kate's put on some weight, and she's definitely not going to "her second home--NYC" for hair appointments and dinner at Fig and Olive anymore. The ring looks like the same one she's been wearing for years. She looks like any other middle-aged woman out there. She said she can never "go back", but that appears to be exactly what she has done. The kids look completely average and normal, too, and I don't mean that in a bad way. They deserve a normal life, and that's what they're getting right now, even though it's completely against their mother's wishes.
Mady has some rather disturbing things on her TikTok. In one video she says she's a person who manipulates people to get what she wants, and also says she thinks she's incapable of love and is afraid that if her family/friends figure out what she's really like, they'll leave her. Yikes. She sounds like a girl who might need some therapy.
Let me take you all back in time, to August 15, 2011. 10 years ago today, TLC gave Kate the big heave-ho for the first time. Ah, what fun that was! Even though they took her back for a few years, filming was fairly limited and she never regained her former glory. Let's hope this most recent firing means we'll never see her on TV again.
I am curious. Wouldn't Colleen being in the medical field have excellent insurance on her own? I was also under the impression (atleast in our state?) that you could only put someone on your insurance that was your dependent or spouse. I am financially separate (but not high income) from my daughter and her husband who I live with but I cannot be on my daughters very very good insurance so I was stuck with the govt healthcare to get very low premiums, and high deductible.

I have always thought the Duggar family had too many children and was too busy with reality television to notice Josh had problems that or they simply were putting up there front to just not care. First off to anyone here who reads my comment I'm be up front I have no problem if anyone is or was on them so I hope no one minds if I ask. But I thought about it today at my store trip. I very nice lady around my age used her food stamp card. Whether that was for herself or sh was shopping for someone else it wasn't my business. But I ponder, could Kate be on food stamps? How on earth could realty television money if one has been fired, with four kids and two in college, house payments, cars, clothes to still buy, all those daily things, no job I don't care how well she invested (it's possible maybe?) could she still really be living off what she made without having any assistance like that?

When Kate sold her house in PA, she pocketed a lot of money. Taking into account the mortgage she took out in 2011, plus amortization and subtracting closing costs, she probably pocketed about $450,000. She can definitely live on that amount for a long time. But--if she can qualify for food stamps, I think she'd definitely take them. She's always been a fan of getting things for free. Then the tups were babies, she and Jon had a large amount of money in savings, but still got food stamps and begged for handouts.
I do wonder what she's doing about insurance. Health and dental for herself plus 6 kids would be incredibly expensive. It's possible that Jon has all the kids on his insurance since he works.
I noticed on one of Mady's TikTok videos, she was standing beside a new black SUV. Kate's old one was grey. She bought the grey one used in 2011, so she probably replaced it when she sold the Heffner Rd house.

I agree! I watched a video about this, and some of the court paperwork was shown. Kate repeatedly refused to produce any kind of financial paperwork. If this went to trial, she wouldn't have a choice. For some reason, she is hell-bent against making her finances public, and is willing to risk contempt in order to keep them secret. Why? Did she lie on her taxes? Is there money she hid during the divorce? Or maybe it's the opposite and she doesn't have much left--and doesn't want the public to know it. Remember, she didn't appreciate Bethenny asking where all the money went. She's hiding something, and she's apparently willing to pay in order to keep the truth hidden.
We were very lucky this time. Power outages and trees falling, sometimes on houses and in the middle of streets, but so far it has been manageable. The restoration teams are out in full force and working very hard to get everyone back up and running.

The legal team representing embattled 19 Kids and Counting star Josh Duggar said it wants its client's child pornography charges dropped because the government failed to preserve evidence that might have exonerated the celebrity.
Moreover, his lawyers said in an August 20 court filing said other people had access to Duggar's used car sales lot, where one admitted to watching porn.
The Springdale, Arkansas, business was previously the target of Department of Homeland Security investigators (HSI), who searched the electronic devices of people who had access to the wireless internet at Wholesale Motorcars.
About a month after executing its first search warrant at the car lot, investigators learned that one person had on 'several occasions' slept overnight at Wholesale Motorcars, where he entertained himself with adult content, the court filing said.
'[The witness] admitted to viewing adult pornography through websites he accessed through the internet on his cellular phone and, when asked by federal agents, denied viewing child pornography,' the court document said. 'Based on HIS's official report, the cellular telephone was examined for evidence of child pornography… with negative results.'
Investigators questioned two others connected to the lot, searched their cellular phones, and found no evidence of criminal activity, according to the court doc.
The filing said HSI did not preserve evidence from any of the three phones, including their contents or metadata.
The defense team said it wants Duggar's case dismissed based on the government's failure to hang onto evidence that might have exonerated its high-profile client.
'Investigators searched these electronic devices in connection with this investigation—but the government has admitted that law enforcement failed to preserve any evidence obtained during these searches, some of which were performed by federal computer forensics analysts,' the filing said. 'The Due Process Clause requires law enforcement to preserve evidence that is either facially exculpatory or potentially exculpatory.
Defense attorneys are calling on a judge to either toss the case or, at the very least, hold an evidentiary hearing 'to determine what can be determined based on the searches performed and to explore the possibility of alternative remedies.'
Josh's defense is the other guys did it. He is trying to blame his employees for being on his computer viewing that porn and viewing it on their cell phones as well. The feds checked it all out and the employees are innocent. What a mess. Thia has to be costing Jimboob a fortune.
