12 1/2 years is not nearly enough, but he also will be on parole supervision for 20 years and will not be able to be around other children, including his own during that period. Jim Bob is probably already working at how to subvert this punishment for Joshie.

I would have liked the maximum sentence but I actually think 12 is pretty good. There’s little chance he gets out early. It’s not like regular prison. He will be middle aged before he’s ever free again and old before he can ever be alone with a kid again. Some serious prime years of his young life will be in prison. And best of all he will always be a FELON.

Kate has really put on weight. She was always so obsessed with being thin, and fat-shamed Jon every chance she got on TV. I'm sure she wouldn't be happy with those pictures, but I think that after how she treated Jon--just desserts, Kate!

I'm really wondering whether Kate is actually working as a nurse. She never, ever intended to go back, but the kids are now old enough to start collecting portions of their trust funds, which leaves less for her to help herself to. And we know she did pay herself out of their trusts because she claimed that C&H's trusts owed her money when she was ordered to hand their money over to Jon.
Continued from above: Mady and Cara would have gotten 25% of their trusts in October for their 21st birthdays, and the tups each got 25% in May for their 18th. The stock market is down, she's been off TV for years...she swore that she couldn't go back, but fate can be funny sometimes.

He's federal. She has no authority to touch this. No pun intended.
Federal comes with all kinds of perks--they don't f around on convictions, sentences are serious and long, and you usually don't get out early or any early to write home about. It's seriously epic the feds got him in the end.
I have really been wondering if Kate has actually gone back to work as a nurse. Publications are assuming she is working as a nurse because she renewed her license but we know she has always kept her license up to date. We have seen pics of her kids working but I have not seen any proof that Kate is actually employed.

I wonder if this indicates she is working. Somewhere. Some jobs are using third party sites and you can go wherever is convenient to you. My branch doesn’t require it but others do depending on what you do and you just need to look up a designated site and that’s your weekly test or however often they want it as one option to test clean.

Yes. He’ll be in his middle 60s before he’s truly free. He’s been ordered supervised visits when in the company of minors, after he gets out of prison. By then most of the M kids will be adults, but their will be plenty of nieces and nephews around.The feds will monitor his internet usage.
I think he will more than likely break the rules during this probationary period. He’s sick and won’t be able to control himself. I don’t like that they are allowing Anna/ or his parents , the right to supervise these visits either. I think they would turn a blind eye . They are more interested in protecting their sick son .

Only order I don’t like is allowing Anna to monitor. She couldn’t protect her kids or someone else’s to save her life. That was dumb.
But yes I think it’s 20 years after his release of monitored visits so almost his whole life. With a family their size and all the constant kids, this order will be a burden for him. Maybe we’ll all still be around twenty years from now when he violates it and goes back to prison.

The younger kids have another year of school before they graduate. I'm not sure about Hannah--it sounds like she may be graduating this year. She went to Florida with Jon to scout out a college in Miami and to launch her beauty line, so maybe she's graduating this year(?). I'm so happy for her, it sounds like she's got a lot of really positive things going on in her life. I also suspect that Mady would be very jealous of H's beauty line. That's the kind of thing Mady would have loved, especially if someone dropped the opportunity in her lap.

The limo, the photographers, the overdone hair and makeup for her party was so over the top. Where is all the money for this venture coming from? Her childhood earnings possibly but that was supposed to be for college. Out of state tuition to University of Miami, which is a private college will be ridiculously expensive, not to mention, the cost of living in Miami is ridiculous.

My thoughts on the Gosselingirl opportunity for Hannah is I believe Jon orchestrated it but made sure it didn't happen until she officially turned 18. That way Kate couldn't demand a piece of it. He posted something a few months back on his Instagram that lead me to believe this had been in the works for awhile.
And honestly who knows how much these children received on their 18 birthday. My guess is it wasn't a lot due to Kate having control of their trust. If we think back most of the "big" money such as the book, the love offerings, DWTS, celebrity apprentice, wife swap, and the view the kids did not participate. Only she did. And we all know she would not have shared her working income with them. So the majority of their income was show based.

What has always shocked me through all this mess of a human being is that the judge involved always let Kate get away with everything. He never followed through on any of his orders and she got away with literally everything. So now, the judge says she must replace the money but who wants to bet not one thin dime will be returned to them and the judge will still do nothing. Despicable and unconscionable.
If she took $100K from H & C, you can bet she pilfered from the other kids' trusts too. Well @Bluejay, I’ll answer since Admin seems to be out of character silent. It’s a civil, not criminal matter. Now I am guessing admin will come in with her usual “expert” opinion and say the judge could hold her in contempt of court and put her in jail but in the real world, it very rarely happens. So as much as we would like to see Kate whipped with a cat o’ nine tails, we must all accept that the worst the court will likely do is impose financial sanctions and even those sanctions are a long shot as even though many here wish to deny it, Jon has also been a terrible parent so the judge has to weigh out the awfulness of both parents when deciding damages. I honestly think the kids would have been better off being raised by a fetal Wolfpack.

How does a parent also weasel their way into being allowed to hold their child/children back a grade without their being a reason? I would assume one needs, well, a teacher's input or something, or agreeance to that before coming to that conclusion? Not just because, "I don't think my kid/kids are ready." From what I remember, there were kids who were not doing well academically and were going to be held back, and Kate decided to let them all stay together. She always thought of them as a group and not individuals.

How does a parent also weasel their way into being allowed to hold their child/children back a grade without their being a reason? I would assume one needs, well, a teacher's input or something, or agreeance to that before coming to that conclusion? Not just because, "I don't think my kid/kids are ready."

Oh holy cow - I am laughing out loud at this, dare I say guffawing. Have absolutely no intention of watching this trash but can only imagine her whining and complaining! Surely there will be crocodile tears and maybe even real ones as she gets her ass chewed out by the special forces guys.
There will be mud, cold, hiking with packs... she will fold like a wilted flower.
I bet she got a contract clause that keeps her in a certain number of weeks, but oh wouldnt it be glorious if she got kicked out the first week?
Hopefully someone here will take one for the team , watch it and report back. I predict more of the same immature, entitled behavior we've always seen.
I really almost feel sorry for folks who go on shows like this - they are always a bunch of desperate has-beens who think they are still relevant. Painful to watch.

She didn't do well on the Sarah Palin reality show out in the cold in Alaska. She must be desperate. If she's working as a nurse, how will she get the time off and keep her job?

Hello everyone! I've been so busy lately, I haven't posted in forever. I'm not at all surprised that Kate "borrowed" money from H&C's trusts--I'm sure she's still borrowing from the other kids. She claims that H&C owe her money for their private school. but it was her decision to put them in private school, not theirs. They are not financially responsible for her decisions, especially when they were only 6 when she made that decision. But--that's totally Kate. She claims she had to borrow to survive, but bought a $750,000 second home that same year. How does that make sense? She did sell the PA house and pocketed some money from it, but apparently paying her kids back wasn't her priority. She is just evil.
The new reality show is going to be awful. Who wants to watch Kate Gosselin or Jamie Lynn Spears? Complete has-beens and not even slightly interesting. I'm sure she'll act the same way she did in the Alaska episode with Sarah Palin. No thanks!
OT update, but the babies are growing up too fast! Sully is almost 3 and he's reading and writing, and has a great, silly sense of humor. Baby K is now a toddler, and she's just as feisty as we expected. She doesn't take anything from anyone, but is still so sweet and snuggly and fun. She, like her brother, loves to make people laugh. They're my sunshine!

One more thought--I wonder if she's doing this new show to come up with the money to pay H&C back. This show would be her worst nightmare, so she'd only do it if she were desperate, either for money or to get back on TV (or both). If she's truly broke, then she may not have any other way to come up with the money. But--if she's working as a nurse, how can she afford their lifestyle now? The mortgage on the NC house is $500K, inflation has made everything else absurdly expensive. There's no way she makes enough as a nurse to cover all that. She had a lot of equity in the PA house, but she had to pay for the move to NC, she probably had huge legal expenses, and there was that lawsuit from her former employee. The money from the house sale is probably long gone by now. Is she plotting a comeback? I would guess yes, but everyone is so over her by now. Whatever she's trying to do, I will not watch this crappy show, and I hope the ratings are terrible.

I find it somewhat interesting that Kenya Moore is also going to be on this new reality show that Kate will be on. Didn't Kate blame Kenya for Kate's getting fired from Celebrity Apprentice?
Kate knows she is controversial. She knows she gets more attention (viewers) who are hoping she fails or throws a hissy fit. She may even use these features to talk a company into hiring her for a show and for keeping her on for a while because it can up the numbers. I would only watch to see if she throws a fit or is worthless at the challenges .
I wonder if she has done any exercising for this show since she looked heavier in the last pap pictures I saw.
Where is Stevie going to be at this sort of show? Behind the rocks?
I noticed that this show is on Fox and produced by Minnow Films. So could this still be part of her TLC contract.
